Lilmuţaffifīna | 083.001 Woe to those that deal in fraud,- | وَيْل ٌ لِلْمُطَفِّفِينَ |

Yastawfūna | 083.002 Those who, when they have to receive by measure from men, exact full measure, | الَّذِينَ إِذَا اكْتَالُوا عَلَى النَّاسِ يَسْتَوْفُونَ |
| Wa 'Idhā Kālūhum
'Aw Wazanūhum Yukhsirūna | 083.003 But when they have to give by measure or weight to men, give less than due. | وَإِذَا كَالُوهُمْ أَوْ وَزَنُوهُمْ يُخْسِرُونَ |

'Ūla'ika 'Annahum
Mab`ūthūna | 083.004 Do they not think that they will be called to account?- | أَلاَ يَظُنُّ أُولَئِكَ أَنَّهُمْ مَبْعُوثُونَ |
| Liyawmin `Ažīmin | 083.005 On a Mighty Day, | لِيَوْمٍ عَظِيم ٍ |

Lirabbi Al-`Ālamīna | 083.006 A Day when (all) mankind will stand before the Lord of the Worlds? | يَوْمَ يَقُومُ النَّاسُ لِرَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ |

Lafī Sijjīnin | 083.007 Day! Surely the record of the wicked is (preserved) in Sijjin. | كَلاَّ إِنَّ كِتَابَ الفُجَّارِ لَفِي سِجِّين ٍ |

'Adrāka
Mā Sijjīnun | 083.008 And what will explain to thee what Sijjin is? | وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا سِجِّين ٌ |

Marqūmun | 083.009 (There is) a Register (fully) inscribed. | كِتَاب ٌ مَرْقُوم ٌ |

Yawma'idhin Lilmukadhdhibīna | 083.010 Woe, that Day, to those that deny- | وَيْل ٌ يَوْمَئِذ ٍ لِلْمُكَذِّبِينَ |

Biyawmi Ad-Dīni | 083.011 Those that deny the Day of Judgment. | الَّذِينَ يُكَذِّبُونَ بِيَوْمِ الدِّينِ |
| Wa Mā Yukadhdhibu Bihi
'Illā Kullu Mu`tadin 'Athīmin | 083.012 And none can deny it but the Transgressor beyond bounds the Sinner! | وَمَا يُكَذِّبُ بِهِ إلاَّ كُلُّ مُعْتَدٍ أَثِيم ٍ |

Al-'Awwalīna | 083.013 When Our Signs are rehearsed to him, he says, "Tales of the ancients!" | إِذَا تُتْلَى عَلَيْهِ آيَاتُنَا قَالَ أَسَاطِيرُ الأَوَّلِينَ |

Rāna `Alá Qulūbihim
Mā Kānū Yaksibūna | 083.014 By no means! but on their hearts is the stain of the (ill) which they do! | كَلاَّ بَلْ رَانَ عَلَى قُلُوبِهِمْ مَا كَانُوا يَكْسِبُونَ |

Yawma'idhin Lamaĥjūbūna | 083.015 Verily, from (the Light of) their Lord, that Day, will they be veiled. | كَلاَّ إِنَّهُمْ عَنْ رَبِّهِمْ يَوْمَئِذ ٍ لَمَحْجُوبُونَ |

Laşālū Al-Jaĥīmi | 083.016 Further, they will enter the Fire of Hell. | ثُمَّ إِنَّهُمْ لَصَالُوا الْجَحِيمِ |

Bihi Tukadhdhibūna | 083.017 Further, it will be said to them: "This is the (reality) which ye rejected as false! | ثُمَّ يُقَالُ هَذَا الَّذِي كُنتُمْ بِه ِِ تُكَذِّبُونَ |

Lafī `Illīyīna | 083.018 Day, verily the record of the Righteous is (preserved) in 'Illiyin. | كَلاَّ إِنَّ كِتَابَ الأَبْرَارِ لَفِي عِلِّيِّينَ |

Mā `Illīyūna | 083.019 And what will explain to thee what 'Illiyun is? | وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا عِلِّيُّونَ |

Marqūmun | 083.020 (There is) a Register (fully) inscribed, | كِتَاب ٌ مَرْقُوم ٌ |

Al-Muqarrabūna | 083.021 To which bear witness those Nearest (to God). | يَشْهَدُهُ الْمُقَرَّبُونَ |

Lafī Na`īmin | 083.022 Truly the Righteous will be in Bliss: | إِنَّ الأَبْرَارَ لَفِي نَعِيم ٍ |

Al-'Arā'iki Yanžurūna | 083.023 On Thrones (of Dignity) will they command a sight (of all things): | عَلَى الأَرَائِكِ يَنظُرُونَ |

Fī Wujūhihim Nađrata
An-Na`īmi | 083.024 Thou wilt recognise in their faces the beaming brightness of Bliss. | تَعْرِفُ فِي وُجُوهِهِمْ نَضْرَةَ النَّعِيمِ |

Makhtūmin | 083.025 Their thirst will be slaked with Pure Wine sealed: | يُسْقَوْنَ مِنْ رَحِيق ٍ مَخْتُوم ٍ |

Miskun Wa Fī Dhālika
Falyatanāfasi Al-Mutanāfisūna | 083.026 The seal thereof will be Musk: And for this let those aspire, who have aspirations: | خِتَامُه ُُ مِسْك ٌ وَفِي ذَلِكَ فَلْيَتَنَافَسِ الْمُتَنَافِسُونَ |

Min Tasnīmin | 083.027 With it will be (given) a mixture of Tasnim: | وَمِزَاجُه ُُ مِنْ تَسْنِيم ٍ |

Yashrabu Bihā Al-Muqarrabūna | 083.028 A spring, from (the waters) whereof drink those Nearest to God. | عَيْنا ً يَشْرَبُ بِهَا الْمُقَرَّبُونَ |

Kānū Mina Al-Ladhīna
'Āmanū Yađĥakūna | 083.029 Those in sin used to laugh at those who believed, | إِنَّ الَّذِينَ أَجْرَمُوا كَانُوا مِنَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا يَضْحَكُونَ |
| Wa 'Idhā Marrū Bihim
Yataghāmazūna | 083.030 And whenever they passed by them, used to wink at each other (in mockery); | وَإِذَا مَرُّوا بِهِمْ يَتَغَامَزُونَ |

Anqalabū
'Ilá 'Ahlihimu
Anqalabū Fakihīna | 083.031 And when they returned to their own people, they would return jesting; | وَإِذَا انقَلَبُوا إِلَى أَهْلِهِمُ انقَلَبُوا فَكِهِينَ |
| Wa 'Idhā Ra'awhum
Qālū 'Inna
Hā'uulā'
Lađāllūna | 083.032 And whenever they saw them, they would say, "Behold! These are the people truly astray!" | وَإِذَا رَأَوْهُمْ قَالُوا إِنَّ هَاؤُلاَء لَضَالُّونَ |

'Ursilū `Alayhim Ĥāfižīna | 083.033 But they had not been sent as keepers over them! | وَمَا أُرْسِلُوا عَلَيْهِمْ حَافِظِينَ |

Mina Al-Kuffāri
Yađĥakūna | 083.034 But on this Day the Believers will laugh at the Unbelievers: | فَالْيَوْمَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا مِنَ الْكُفَّارِ يَضْحَكُونَ |

Al-'Arā'iki Yanžurūna | 083.035 On Thrones (of Dignity) they will command (a sight) (of all things). | عَلَى الأَرَائِكِ يَنظُرُونَ |

Yaf`alūna | 083.036 Will not the Unbelievers have been paid back for what they did? | هَلْ ثُوِّبَ الْكُفَّارُ مَا كَانُوا يَفْعَلُونَ |
