'Idhā Ash-Shamsu Kūwirat (At-Takwīr: 1).

081.001 When the sun (with its spacious light) is folded up;
|
إِذَا الشَّمْسُ كُوِّرَتْ |
Wa 'Idhā An-Nujūmu Ankadarat (At-Takwīr: 2).
|
081.002 When the stars fall, losing their lustre;
|
وَإِذَا النُّجُومُ انكَدَرَتْ |
Wa 'Idhā Al-Jibālu Suyyirat (At-Takwīr: 3).
|
081.003 When the mountains vanish (like a mirage);
|
وَإِذَا الْجِبَالُ سُيِّرَتْ |
Wa 'Idhā Al-`Ishāru `Uţţilat (At-Takwīr: 4).
|
081.004 When the she-camels, ten months with young, are left untended;
|
وَإِذَا الْعِشَارُ عُطِّلَتْ |
Wa 'Idhā Al-Wuĥūshu Ĥushirat (At-Takwīr: 5).
|
081.005 When the wild beasts are herded together (in the human habitations);
|
وَإِذَا الْوُحُوشُ حُشِرَتْ |
Wa 'Idhā Al-Biĥāru Sujjirat (At-Takwīr: 6).
|
081.006 When the oceans boil over with a swell;
|
وَإِذَا الْبِحَارُ سُجِّرَتْ |
Wa 'Idhā An-Nufūsu Zūwijat (At-Takwīr: 7).
|
081.007 When the souls are sorted out, (being joined, like with like);
|
وَإِذَا النُّفُوسُ زُوِّجَتْ |
Wa 'Idhā Al-Maw'ūdatu Su'ilat (At-Takwīr: 8).
|
081.008 When the female (infant), buried alive, is questioned -
|
وَإِذَا الْمَوْءُودَةُ سُئِلَتْ |
Bi'ayyi Dhanbin Qutilat (At-Takwīr: 9).
|
081.009 For what crime she was killed;
|
بِأَيِّ ذَنْبٍ قُتِلَتْ |
Wa 'Idhā Aş-Şuĥufu Nushirat (At-Takwīr: 10).
|
081.010 When the scrolls are laid open;
|
وَإِذَا الصُّحُفُ نُشِرَتْ |
Wa 'Idhā As-Samā'u Kushiţat (At-Takwīr: 11).
|
081.011 When the world on High is unveiled;
|
وَإِذَا السَّمَاءُ كُشِطَتْ |
Wa 'Idhā Al-Jaĥīmu Su``irat (At-Takwīr: 12).
|
081.012 When the Blazing Fire is kindled to fierce heat;
|
وَإِذَا الْجَحِيمُ سُعِّرَتْ |
Wa 'Idhā Al-Jannatu 'Uzlifat (At-Takwīr: 13).
|
081.013 And when the Garden is brought near;-
|
وَإِذَا الْجَنَّةُ أُزْلِفَتْ |
`Alimat Nafsun Mā 'Aĥđarat (At-Takwīr: 14).
|
081.014 (Then) shall each soul know what it has put forward.
|
عَلِمَتْ نَفْسٌ مَا أَحْضَرَتْ |
Falā 'Uqsimu Bil-Khunnasi (At-Takwīr: 15).
|
081.015 So verily I call to witness the planets - that recede,
|
فَلاَ أُقْسِمُ بِالْخُنَّسِ |
Al-Jawāri Al-Kunnasi (At-Takwīr: 16).
|
081.016 Go straight, or hide;
|
الْجَوَارِ الْكُنَّسِ |
Wa Al-Layli 'Idhā `As`asa (At-Takwīr: 17).
|
081.017 And the Night as it dissipates;
|
وَاللَّيْلِ إِذَا عَسْعَسَ |
Wa Aş-Şubĥi 'Idhā Tanaffasa (At-Takwīr: 18).
|
081.018 And the Dawn as it breathes away the darkness;-
|
وَالصُّبْحِ إِذَا تَنَفَّسَ |
'Innahu Laqawlu Rasūlin Karīmin (At-Takwīr: 19).
|
081.019 Verily this is the word of a most honourable Messenger,
|
إِنَّهُ لَقَوْلُ رَسُولٍ كَرِيمٍ |
Dhī Qūwatin `Inda Dhī Al-`Arshi Makīnin (At-Takwīr: 20).
|
081.020 Endued with Power, with rank before the Lord of the Throne,
|
ذِي قُوَّةٍ عِنْدَ ذِي الْعَرْشِ مَكِينٍ |
Muţā`in Thamma 'Amīnin (At-Takwīr: 21).
|
081.021 With authority there, (and) faithful to his trust.
|
مُطَاعٍ ثَمَّ أَمِينٍ |
Wa Mā Şāĥibukum Bimajnūnin (At-Takwīr: 22).
|
081.022 And (O people!) your companion is not one possessed;
|
وَمَا صَاحِبُكُمْ بِمَجْنُونٍ |
Wa Laqad Ra'āhu Bil-'Ufuqi Al-Mubīni (At-Takwīr: 23).
|
081.023 And without doubt he saw him in the clear horizon.
|
وَلَقَدْ رَآهُ بِالأُفُقِ الْمُبِينِ |
Wa Mā Huwa `Alá Al-Ghaybi Biđanīnin (At-Takwīr: 24).
|
081.024 Neither doth he withhold grudgingly a knowledge of the Unseen.
|
وَمَا هُوَ عَلَى الْغَيْبِ بِضَنِينٍ |
Wa Mā Huwa Biqawli Shayţānin Rajīmin (At-Takwīr: 25).
|
081.025 Nor is it the word of an evil spirit accursed.
|
وَمَا هُوَ بِقَوْلِ شَيْطَانٍ رَجِيمٍ |
Fa'ayna Tadh/habūna (At-Takwīr: 26).
|
081.026 When whither go ye?
|
فَأَيْنَ تَذْهَبُونَ |
'In Huwa 'Illā Dhikrun Lil`ālamīna (At-Takwīr: 27).
|
081.027 Verily this is no less than a Message to (all) the Worlds:
|
إِنْ هُوَ إِلاَّ ذِكْرٌ لِلْعَالَمِينَ |
Liman Shā'a Minkum 'An Yastaqīma (At-Takwīr: 28).
|
081.028 (With profit) to whoever among you wills to go straight:
|
لِمَنْ شَاءَ مِنْكُمْ أَنْ يَسْتَقِيمَ |
Wa Mā Tashā'ūna 'Illā 'An Yashā'a Allāhu Rabbu Al-`Ālamīna (At-Takwīr: 29).

081.029 But ye shall not will except as God wills,- the Cherisher of the Worlds.
|
وَمَا تَشَاءُونَ إِلاَّ أَنْ يَشَاءَ اللَّهُ رَبُّ الْعَالَمِينَ |
