Q ul 'Ūĥiya 'Ilay ya 'A nn ahu A ru n Mina A l-Jinn i Faq ālū 'Inn ā Sami`nā Q ur'ā nāan `Ajabāan (Al-Jinn : 1).
072.001 Say: It has been revealed to me that a company of Jinns listened (to the Qur'an). They said, 'We have really heard a wonderful Recital!
قُ لْ أُ وحِيَ إِلَيَّ أَنَّ هُ ا ٌ مِنَ ا لْجِنّ ِ فَقَ الُو ا إِنَّ ا سَمِعْنَا قُ رْآناً عَجَباً
Yahdī 'Ilá A r-Ru sh di Fa'ā mann ā Bihi ۖ Wa Lan Nush r ika Bira bbinā 'Aĥadāan (Al-Jinn : 2).
072.002 'It gives guidance to the Right, and we have believed therein: we shall not join (in worship) any (gods) with our Lord.
يَهْدِي إِلَى ا ل رُّشْدِ فَآمَنَّ ا بِهِ ۖ وَلَن ْ نُشْرِ كَ بِرَ بِّنَا أَحَداً
Wa 'Ann ahu Ta`ālá Jaddu Ra bbinā Mā A kh dh a Ş āĥibatan Wa Lā Waladāan (Al-Jinn : 3).
072.003 'And Exalted is the Majesty of our Lord: He has taken neither a wife nor a son.
وَأَنَّ هُ تَعَالَى جَدُّ رَ بِّنَا مَا ا خَ ذَ صَ احِبَةً وَلاَ وَلَداً
Wa 'Ann ahu Kā na Yaq ū lu Safīhunā `Alá A ll āhi Sh aţ aţ āan (Al-Jinn : 4).
072.004 'There were some foolish ones among us, who used to utter extravagant lies against God;
وَأَنَّ هُ كَا نَ يَقُ و لُ سَفِيهُنَا عَلَى ا للَّ هِ شَطَ ط اً
Wa 'Ann ā Ž anann ā 'An Lan Taq ū la A l-'In su Wa A l-Jinn u `Alá A ll āhi Kadh ibāan (Al-Jinn : 5).
072.005 'But we do think that no man or spirit should say aught that untrue against God.
وَأَنَّ ا ظَ نَنَّ ا أَن ْ لَن ْ تَقُ و لَ ا لإِن سُ وَا لْجِنّ ُ عَلَى ا للَّ هِ كَذِباً
Wa 'Ann ahu Kā na R ijā lun Mina A l-'In si Ya`ūdh ū na Bir ijā lin Mina A l-Jinn i Fazādūhum Ra haq āan (Al-Jinn : 6).
072.006 'True, there were persons among mankind who took shelter with persons among the Jinns, but they increased them in folly.
وَأَنَّ هُ كَا نَ رِ جَا لٌ مِنَ ا لإِن سِ يَعُوذُو نَ بِرِ جَا لٍ مِنَ ا لْجِنِّ فَزَادُوهُمْ رَ هَق اً
Wa 'Ann ahum Ž ann ū Kamā Ž anan tum 'An Lan Yab `ath a A ll āhu 'Aĥadāan (Al-Jinn : 7).
072.007 'And they (came to) think as ye thought, that God would not raise up any one (to Judgment).
وَأَنَّ هُمْ ظَ نُّ وا كَمَا ظَ نَن تُمْ أَن ْ لَن ْ يَبْ عَثَ ا للَّ هُ أَحَداً
Wa 'Ann ā Lamasnā A s-Samā 'a Fawajad nāhā Muli'at Ĥara sāan Sh adīdāan Wa Sh uhubāan (Al-Jinn : 8).
072.008 'And we pried into the secrets of heaven; but we found it filled with stern guards and flaming fires.
وَأَنَّ ا لَمَسْنَا ا ل سَّمَا ءَ فَوَجَدْ نَاهَا مُلِئَتْ حَرَ ساً شَدِيداً وَشُهُباً
Wa 'Ann ā Kunn ā Naq q ā`ida Lilssam `i ۖ Faman Yastami`i A l-'Ā na Yajid Lahu Sh ihābāan Ra ş adāan (Al-Jinn : 9).
072.009 'We used, indeed, to sit there in (hidden) stations, to (steal) a hearing; but any who listen now will find a flaming fire watching him in ambush.
وَأَنَّ ا كُنَّ ا نَقْ عُدُ مِنْ هَا مَقَ اعِدَ لِلسَّمْعِ ۖ فَمَن ْ يَسْتَمِعِ ا لآنَ يَجِدْ لَهُ شِهَاباً رَ صَ داً
Wa 'Ann ā Lā Nad r ī 'Ash arru n 'Ur ī da Biman Fī A l-'Arđi 'Am 'Ar ā da Bihim Ra bbuhum Ra sh adāan (Al-Jinn : 10).
072.010 'And we understand not whether ill is intended to those on earth, or whether their Lord (really) intends to guide them to right conduct.
وَأَنَّ ا لاَ نَدْ رِ ي أَشَرٌّ أُر ِي دَ بِمَن ْ فِي ا لأَرْضِ أَمْ أَرَ ا دَ بِهِمْ رَ بُّهُمْ رَ شَداً
Wa 'Ann ā Minn ā A ş -Ş āliĥū na Wa Minn ā Dū na Dh ālika ۖ Kunn ā Ţ arā 'iq a Q idadāan (Al-Jinn : 11).
072.011 'There are among us some that are righteous, and some the contrary: we follow divergent paths.
وَأَنَّ ا مِنَّ ا ا ل صَّ الِحُو نَ وَمِنَّ ا دُو نَ ذَلِكَ ۖ كُنَّ ا طَ رَا ئِقَ قِ دَداً
Wa 'Ann ā Ž anann ā 'An Lan Nu`jiza A ll āha Fī A l-'Arđi Wa Lan Nu`jizahu Hara bāan (Al-Jinn : 12).
072.012 'But we think that we can by no means frustrate God throughout the earth, nor can we frustrate Him by flight.
وَأَنَّ ا ظَ نَنَّ ا أَن ْ لَن ْ نُعجِزَ ا للَّ هَ فِي ا لأَرْضِ وَلَن ْ نُعْجِزَهُ هَرَ باً
Wa 'Ann ā Lamm ā Sami`nā A l-Hudá 'Āmann ā Bihi ۖ Faman Yu'umin Bira bbihi Falā Yakh ā fu Bakh n Wa Lā Ra haq āan (Al-Jinn : 13).
072.013 'And as for us, since we have listened to the Guidance, we have accepted it: and any who believes in his Lord has no fear, either of a short (account) or of any injustice.
وَأَنَّ ا لَمَّ ا سَمِعْنَا ا لْهُدَى آمَنَّ ا بِهِ ۖ فَمَن ْ يُؤْمِن ْ بِرَ بِّهِ فَلاَ يَخَ ا فُ بَخْ ساً وَلاَ رَ هَق اً
Wa 'Ann ā Minn ā A l-Muslimū na Wa Minn ā A l-Q āsiţ ū na ۖ Faman 'Aslama Fa'ūlā 'ika Taĥarra wā Ra sh adāan (Al-Jinn : 14).
072.014 'Amongst us are some that submit their wills (to God), and some that swerve from justice. Now those who submit their wills - they have sought out (the path) of right conduct:
وَأَنَّ ا مِنَّ ا ا لْمُسْلِمُو نَ وَمِنَّ ا ا لْقَ اسِطُ و نَ ۖ فَمَن ْ أَسْلَمَ فَأُ وْلَا ئِكَ تَحَرَّ وْا رَ شَداً
Wa 'Amm ā A l-Q āsiţ ū na Fakānū Lijahann ama Ĥaţ abāan (Al-Jinn : 15).
072.015 'But those who swerve,- they are (but) fuel for Hell-fire'-
وَأَمَّ ا ا لْقَ اسِطُ و نَ فَكَانُوا لِجَهَنَّ مَ حَطَ باً
Wa 'Allawi A q āmū `Alá A ţ -Ţ ar īq ati L'asq aynāhum Mā 'an Gh q āan (Al-Jinn : 16).
072.016 (And God's Message is): "If they (the Pagans) had (only) remained on the (right) Way, We should certainly have bestowed on them Rain in abundance.
وَأَلَّوِ ا قَ امُوا عَلَى ا ل طَّ رِ يقَ ةِ لأَسْقَ يْنَاهُمْ مَا ءً غَ دَق اً
Linaftinahum Fī hi ۚ Wa Man Yu`r iđ `An Dh ikr i Ra bbihi Yasluk/hu `Adh ābāan Ş a`adāan (Al-Jinn : 17).
072.017 "That We might try them by that (means). But if any turns away from the remembrance of his Lord, He will cause him to undergo a severe Penalty.
لِنَفْتِنَهُمْ فِي هِ ۚ وَمَن ْ يُعْرِ ضْ عَن ْ ذِكْرِ رَ بِّهِ يَسْلُكْهُ عَذَاباً صَ عَداً
Wa 'Ann a A l-Masājida Lill ā h Falā Tad `ū Ma`a A ll āhi 'Aĥadāan (Al-Jinn : 18).
072.018 "And the places of worship are for God (alone): So invoke not any one along with God;
وَأَنّ َ ا لْمَسَاجِدَ لِلَّهِ فَلاَ تَدْ عُوا مَعَ ا للَّ هِ أَحَداً
Wa 'Ann ahu Lamm ā Q ā ma `Ab du A ll āhi Yad `ū hu Kādū Yakūnū na `Alay hi Libadāan (Al-Jinn : 19).
072.019 "Yet when the Devotee of God stands forth to invoke Him, they just make round him a dense crowd."
وَأَنَّ هُ لَمَّ ا قَ ا مَ عَبْ دُ ا للَّ هِ يَدْ عُو هُ كَادُوا يَكُونُو نَ عَلَيْ هِ لِبَداً
Q ul 'Inn amā 'Ad `ū Ra bbī Wa Lā 'Ush r iku Bihi 'Aĥadāan (Al-Jinn : 20).
072.020 Say: "I do no more than invoke my Lord, and I join not with Him any (false god)."
قُ لْ إِنَّ مَا أَدْ عُو رَ بِّي وَلاَ أُشْرِ كُ بِهِ أَحَداً
Q ul 'Inn ī Lā 'Am liku Lakum Đ arrā an Wa Lā Ra sh adāan (Al-Jinn : 21).
072.021 Say: "It is not in my power to cause you harm, or to bring you to right conduct."
قُ لْ إِنِّ ي لاَ أَمْلِكُ لَكُمْ ضَ رّاً وَلاَ رَ شَداً
Q ul 'Inn ī Lan Yujīra nī Mina A ll āhi 'Aĥadun Wa Lan 'Ajida Min Dūnihi Multaĥadāan (Al-Jinn : 22).
072.022 Say: "No one can deliver me from God (If I were to disobey Him), nor should I find refuge except in Him,
قُ لْ إِنِّ ي لَن ْ يُجِيرَ نِي مِنَ ا للَّ هِ أَحَدٌ وَلَن ْ أَجِدَ مِن ْ دُونِهِ مُلْتَحَداً
'Illā Balāgh n Mina A ll āhi Wa R isālātihi ۚ Wa Man Ya`ş i A ll ā ha Wa Ra sūlahu Fa'inn a Lahu Nā ra Jahann ama Kh ī na Fīhā 'Abadāan (Al-Jinn : 23).
072.023 "Unless I proclaim what I receive from God and His Messages: for any that disobey God and His Apostle,- for them is Hell: they shall dwell therein for ever."
إِلاَّ بَلاَغ اً مِنَ ا للَّ هِ وَرِ سَالاَتِهِ ۚ وَمَن ْ يَعْصِ ا للَّ هَ وَرَ سُولَهُ فَإِنّ َ لَهُ نَا رَ جَهَنَّ مَ خَ الِدِي نَ فِيهَا أَبَداً
Ĥattá 'Idh ā Ra 'awā Mā Yū`adū na Fasaya`lamū na Man 'Ađ`afu Nāş irā an Wa 'Aq allu `Adadāan (Al-Jinn : 24).
072.024 At length, when they see (with their own eyes) that which they are promised,- then will they know who it is that is weakest in (his) helper and least important in point of numbers.
حَتَّى إِذَا رَ أَوْا مَا يُوعَدُو نَ فَسَيَعْلَمُو نَ مَن ْ أَضْ عَفُ نَاصِ ر اً وَأَقَ لُّ عَدَداً
Q ul 'In 'Ad r ī 'Aq ar ī bun Mā Tū`adū na 'Am Yaj `alu Lahu Ra bbī 'Amadāan (Al-Jinn : 25).
072.025 Say: "I know not whether the (Punishment) which ye are promised is near, or whether my Lord will appoint for it a distant term.
قُ لْ إِن ْ أَدْ رِ ي أَقَ ر ِي بٌ مَا تُوعَدُو نَ أَمْ يَجْ عَلُ لَهُ رَ بِّي أَمَداً
`Ālimu A l-Gh y bi Falā Yužhir u `Alá Gh ybihi 'Aĥadāan (Al-Jinn : 26).
072.026 "He (alone) knows the Unseen, nor does He make any one acquainted with His Mysteries,-
عَالِمُ ا لْغَ يْ بِ فَلاَ يُظْ هِر ُعَلَى غَ يْبِهِ أَحَداً
'Illā Mani A n Ra sū lin Fa'inn ahu Yasluku Min Bay ni Yaday hi Wa Min Kh Ra ş adāan (Al-Jinn : 27).
072.027 "Except an apostle whom He has chosen: and then He makes a band of watchers march before him and behind him,
إِلاَّ مَنِ ا ضَ ى مِن ْ رَ سُو لٍ فَإِنَّ هُ يَسْلُكُ مِن ْ بَيْ نِ يَدَيْ هِ وَمِن ْ خَ لْفِهِ رَ صَ داً
Liya`la ma 'An Q ad 'Ab lagh R isālā ti Ra bbihim Wa 'Aĥā ţ a Bimā Ladayhim Wa 'Aĥş á Kulla Sh ay 'in `Adadāan (Al-Jinn : 28).
072.028 "That He may know that they have (truly) brought and delivered the Messages of their Lord: and He surrounds (all the mysteries) that are with them, and takes account of every single thing."
لِيَعْلَمَ أَن ْ قَ دْ أَبْ لَغُ وا رِ سَالاَتِ رَ بِّهِمْ وَأَحَا طَ بِمَا لَدَيْهِمْ وَأَحْصَ ى كُلَّ شَيْ ءٍ عَدَداً
