'Inn ā 'Arsalnā Nūĥāan 'Ilá Q awmihi 'An 'An dh ir Q awmaka Min Q ab li 'An Ya'tiyahum `Adh ā bun 'Alī mun (Nūĥ: 1).
071.001 We sent Noah to his People (with the Command): "Do thou warn thy People before there comes to them a grievous Penalty."
إِنَّ ا أَرْسَلْنَا نُوحاً إِلَى قَ وْمِهِ أَن ْ أَن ذِر ْ قَ وْمَكَ مِن ْ قَ بْ لِ أَن ْ يَأْتِيَهُمْ عَذَا بٌ أَلِيمٌ
Q ā la Yā Q aw mi 'Inn ī Lakum Nadh ī r un Mubī nun (Nūĥ: 2).
071.002 He said: "O my People! I am to you a Warner, clear and open:
قَ ا لَ يَاقَ وْ مِ إِنِّ ي لَكُمْ نَذِي رٌ مُبِينٌ
'Ani A `budū A ll aha Wa A q ū hu Wa 'Aţ ī`ū ni (Nūĥ: 3).
071.003 "That ye should worship God, fear Him and obey me:
أَنِ ا عْبُدُوا ا للَّ هَ وَا قُ و هُ وَأَطِ يعُونِ
Yagh r Lakum Min Dh unūbikum Wa Yu'uakh kh r kum 'Ilá 'Ajalin Musamm an ۚ 'Inn a 'Ajala A ll āhi 'Idh ā Jā 'a Lā Yu'uakh kh ru ۖ Law Kun tum Ta`lamū na (Nūĥ: 4).
071.004 "So He may forgive you your sins and give you respite for a stated Term: for when the Term given by God is accomplished, it cannot be put forward: if ye only knew."
يَغْ فِر ْ لَكُمْ مِن ْ ذُنُوبِكُمْ وَيُؤَخِّ ر ْكُمْ إِلَى أَجَلٍ مُسَمّ ىً ۚ إِنّ َ أَجَلَ ا للَّ هِ إِذَا جَا ءَ لاَ يُؤَخَّ رُ ۖ لَوْ كُن تُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ
Q ā la Ra bbi 'Inn ī Da`aw tu Q awm 99 Laylāan Wa Nahārā an (Nūĥ: 5).
071.005 He said: "O my Lord! I have called to my People night and day:
قَ ا لَ رَ بِّ إِنِّ ي دَعَوْ تُ قَ وْمِي لَيْلاً وَنَهَاراً
Falam Yazid /hum Du`ā 'ī 'Illā Firā rā an (Nūĥ: 6).
071.006 "But my call only increases (their) flight (from the Right).
فَلَمْ يَزِدْ هُمْ دُعَا ئِ ي إِلاَّ فِرَ اراً
Wa 'Inn ī Kullamā Da`awtuhum Litagh r a Lahum Ja`alū 'Aş ābi`ahum Fī 'Ādh ānihim Wa A gh sh awā Th iyābahum Wa 'Aş arrū Wa A A rā an (Nūĥ: 7).
071.007 "And every time I have called to them, that Thou mightest forgive them, they have (only) thrust their fingers into their ears, covered themselves up with their garments, grown obstinate, and given themselves up to arrogance.
وَإِنِّ ي كُلَّمَا دَعَوْتُهُمْ لِتَغْ فِرَ لَهُمْ جَعَلُو ا أَصَ ابِعَهُمْ فِي آذَانِهِمْ وَا غْ شَوْا ثِيَابَهُمْ وَأَصَ رُّوا وَا ا ا
Th umm a 'Inn ī Da`awtuhum Jihārā an (Nūĥ: 8).
071.008 "So I have called to them aloud;
ثُمّ َ إِنِّ ي دَعَوْتُهُمْ جِهَاراً
Th umm a 'Inn ī 'A`lan tu Lahum Wa 'Asra rtu Lahum 'Isrā rā an (Nūĥ: 9).
071.009 "Further I have spoken to them in public and secretly in private,
ثُمّ َ إِنِّ ي أَعْلَن تُ لَهُمْ وَأَسْرَ رْتُ لَهُمْ إِسْرَ اراً
Faq ultu A gh Ra bbakum 'Inn ahu Kā na Gh rā an (Nūĥ: 10).
071.010 "Saying, 'Ask forgiveness from your Lord; for He is Oft-Forgiving;
فَقُ لْتُ ا غْ فِرُوا رَ بَّكُمْ إِنَّ هُ كَا نَ غَ فَّاراً
Yursili A s-Samā 'a `Alaykum Mid rā rā an (Nūĥ: 11).
071.011 "'He will send rain to you in abundance;
يُرْسِلِ ا ل سَّمَا ءَ عَلَيْكُمْ مِدْ رَ اراً
Wa Yum did kum Bi'am wā lin Wa Banī na Wa Yaj `al Lakum Jann ā tin Wa Yaj `al Lakum 'Anhārā an (Nūĥ: 12).
071.012 "'Give you increase in wealth and sons; and bestow on you gardens and bestow on you rivers (of flowing water).
وَيُمْدِدْ كُمْ بِأَمْوَا لٍ وَبَنِي نَ وَيَجْ عَلْ لَكُمْ جَنّ َا تٍ وَيَجْ عَلْ لَكُمْ أَنْ هَاراً
Mā Lakum Lā Tarjū na Lill ā h Waq ārā an (Nūĥ: 13).
071.013 "'What is the matter with you, that ye place not your hope for kindness and long-suffering in God,-
مَا لَكُمْ لاَ تَرْجُو نَ لِلَّهِ وَقَ اراً
Wa Q ad Kh q akum 'Aţ rā an (Nūĥ: 14).
071.014 "'Seeing that it is He that has created you in diverse stages?
وَقَ دْ خَ لَقَ كُمْ أَطْ وَاراً
'Alam Tara wā Kay fa Kh q a A ll āhu Sab `a Samāwā tin Ţ ibāq āan (Nūĥ: 15).
071.015 "'See ye not how God has created the seven heavens one above another,
أَلَمْ تَرَ وْا كَيْ فَ خَ لَقَ ا للَّ هُ سَبْ عَ سَمَاوَا تٍ طِ بَاق اً
Wa Ja`ala A l-Q amara Fīhinn a Nūrā an Wa Ja`ala A sh -Sh am sa Sirā jāan (Nūĥ: 16).
071.016 "'And made the moon a light in their midst, and made the sun as a (Glorious) Lamp?
وَجَعَلَ ا لْقَ مَرَ فِيهِنّ َ نُوراً وَجَعَلَ ا ل شَّمْسَ سِرَ اجاً
Wa A ll āhu 'An batakum Mina A l-'Arđi Nabātāan (Nūĥ: 17).
071.017 "'And God has produced you from the earth growing (gradually),
وَا للَّ هُ أَنْ بَتَكُمْ مِنَ ا لأَرْضِ نَبَاتاً
Th umm a Yu`īdukum Fīhā Wa Yukh r ijukum 'Ikh rā jāan (Nūĥ: 18).
071.018 "'And in the End He will return you into the (earth), and raise you forth (again at the Resurrection)?
ثُمّ َ يُعِيدُكُمْ فِيهَا وَيُخْ رِ جُكُمْ إِخْ رَ اجاً
Wa A ll āhu Ja`ala Lakumu A l-'Arđa Bisāţ āan (Nūĥ: 19).
071.019 "'And God has made the earth for you as a carpet (spread out),
وَا للَّ هُ جَعَلَ لَكُمُ ا لأَرْضَ بِسَاط اً
Litaslukū Minhā Subulāan Fijājāan (Nūĥ: 20).
071.020 "'That ye may go about therein, in spacious roads.'"
لِتَسْلُكُوا مِنْ هَا سُبُلاً فِجَاجاً
Q ā la Nūĥun Ra bbi 'Inn ahum `Aş awn 99 Wa A n Lam Yazid /hu Māluhu Wa Waladuhu 'Illā Kh rā an (Nūĥ: 21).
071.021 Noah said: "O my Lord! They have disobeyed me, but they follow (men) whose wealth and children give them no increase but only Loss.
قَ ا لَ نُو ح ٌ رَ بِّ إِنَّ هُمْ عَصَ وْنِي وَا ا مَن ْ لَمْ يَزِدْ هُ مَالُهُ وَوَلَدُهُ إِلاَّ خَ سَاراً
Wa Makarū Makrā an Kubbārā an (Nūĥ: 22).
071.022 "And they have devised a tremendous Plot.
وَمَكَرُوا مَكْراً كُبَّاراً
Wa Q ālū Lā Tadh aru nn a 'Ālihatakum Wa Lā Tadh aru nn a Waddāan Wa Lā Suwā`āan Wa Lā Yagh th a Wa Ya`ū q a Wa Nasrā an (Nūĥ: 23).
071.023 "And they have said (to each other), 'Abandon not your gods: Abandon neither Wadd nor Suwa', neither Yaguth nor Ya'uq, nor Nasr';-
وَقَ الُوا لاَ تَذَرُنّ َ آلِهَتَكُمْ وَلاَ تَذَرُنّ َ وَدّاً وَلاَ سُوَاعاً وَلاَ يَغُ و ثَ وَيَعُو قَ وَنَسْراً
Wa Q ad 'Ađallū Kath īrā an ۖ Wa Lā Tazidi A ž-Ž ālimī na 'Illā Đ alālāan (Nūĥ: 24).
071.024 "They have already misled many; and grant Thou no increase to the wrong-doers but in straying (from their mark)."
وَقَ دْ أَضَ لُّوا كَثِير اً ۖ وَلاَ تَزِدِ ا ل ظَّ الِمِي نَ إِلاَّ ضَ لاَلاً
Mimm ā Kh ţ ī 'ā tihim 'Ugh r iq ū Fa'ud kh rā an Falam Yajidū Lahum Min Dū ni A ll ā hi 'An ş ārā an (Nūĥ: 25).
071.025 Because of their sins they were drowned (in the flood), and were made to enter the Fire (of Punishment): and they found- in lieu of God- none to help them.
مِمَّ ا خَ ط ِي ئَ اتِهِمْ أُغْ رِ قُ وا فَأُدْ خِ لُوا نَاراً فَلَمْ يَجِدُوا لَهُمْ مِن ْ دُو نِ ا للَّ هِ أَنْ صَ اراً
Wa Q ā la Nūĥun Ra bbi Lā Tadh ar `Alá A l-'Arđi Mina A l-Kāfir ī na Dayyārā an (Nūĥ: 26).
071.026 And Noah, said: "O my Lord! Leave not of the Unbelievers, a single one on earth!
وَقَ ا لَ نُو ح ٌ رَ بِّ لاَ تَذَرْ عَلَى ا لأَرْضِ مِنَ ا لْكَافِر ِي نَ دَيَّاراً
'Inn aka 'In Tadh arhum Yuđillū `Ibādaka Wa Lā Yalidū 'Illā Fājirā an Kaffārā an (Nūĥ: 27).
071.027 "For, if Thou dost leave (any of) them, they will but mislead Thy devotees, and they will breed none but wicked ungrateful ones.
إِنَّ كَ إِن ْ تَذَرْهُمْ يُضِ لُّوا عِبَادَكَ وَلاَ يَلِدُو ا إِلاَّ فَاجِر اً كَفَّاراً
Ra bbi A gh r Lī Wa Liwāliday ya Wa Liman Dakh ya Mu 'umināan Wa Lilmu'uminī na Wa A l-Mu'uminā ti Wa Lā Tazidi A ž-Ž ālimī na 'Illā Tabārā an (Nūĥ: 28).
071.028 "O my Lord! Forgive me, my parents, all who enter my house in Faith, and (all) believing men and believing women: and to the wrong-doers grant Thou no increase but in perdition!"
رَ بِّ ا غْ فِر ْ لِي وَلِوَالِدَيَّ وَلِمَن ْ دَخَ لَ بَيْتِيَ مُؤْمِناً وَلِلْمُؤْمِنِي نَ وَا لْمُؤْمِنَا تِ وَلاَ تَزِدِ ا ل ظَّ الِمِي نَ إِلاَّ تَبَاراً
