| Hal 'Atāka Ĥadīthu Al-Ghāshiyahi | 088.001 Hath there come unto thee tidings of the Overwhelming ? | هَلْ أَتَاكَ حَدِيثُ الْغَاشِيَةِ |
| Wujūhun Yawma'idhin Khāshi`ahun | 088.002 On that day (many) faces will be downcast, | وُجُوه ٌ ٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ خَاشِعَة ٌ |
| `Āmilatun Nāşibahun | 088.003 Toiling, weary, | عَامِلَة ٌ نَاصِبَة ٌ |
| Taşlá Nārāan Ĥāmiyahan | 088.004 Scorched by burning fire, | تَصْلَى نَاراً حَامِيَة ً |
| Tusqá Min `Aynin 'Āniyahin | 088.005 Drinking from a boiling spring, | تُسْقَى مِنْ عَيْن ٍ آنِيَة ٍ |
| Laysa Lahum Ţa`āmun 'Illā Min Đarī`in | 088.006 No food for them save bitter thorn-fruit | لَيْسَ لَهُمْ طَعَام ٌ إِلاَّ مِنْ ضَرِيع ٍ |
| Lā Yusminu Wa Lā Yughnī Min Jū`in | 088.007 Which doth not nourish nor release from hunger. | لاَ يُسْمِنُ وَلاَ يُغْنِي مِنْ جُوع ٍ |
| Wujūhun Yawma'idhin Nā`imahun | 088.008 In that day other faces will be calm, | وُجُوه ٌ ٌ يَوْمَئِذ ٍ نَاعِمَة ٌ |
| Lisa`yihā Rāđiyahun | 088.009 Glad for their effort past, | لِسَعْيِهَا رَاضِيَة ٌ |
| Fī Jannatin `Āliyahin | 088.010 In a high Garden | فِي جَنَّةٍ عَالِيَة ٍ |
| Lā Tasma`u Fīhā Lāghiyahan | 088.011 Where they hear no idle speech, | لاَ تَسْمَعُ فِيهَا لاَغِيَة ً |
| Fīhā `Aynun Jāriyahun | 088.012 Wherein is a gushing spring, | فِيهَا عَيْن ٌ جَارِيَة ٌ |
| Fīhā Sururun Marfū`ahun | 088.013 Wherein are couches raised | فِيهَا سُرُر ٌ مَرْفُوعَة ٌ |
| Wa 'Akwābun Mawđū`ahun | 088.014 And goblets set at hand | وَأَكْوَاب ٌ مَوْضُوعَة ٌ |
| Wa Namāriqu Maşfūfahun | 088.015 And cushions ranged | وَنَمَارِقُ مَصْفُوفَة ٌ |
| Wa Zarābīyu Mabthūthahun | 088.016 And silken carpets spread. | وَزَرَابِيُّ مَبْثُوثَة ٌ |
| 'Afalā Yanžurūna 'Ilá Al-'Ibili Kayfa Khuliqat | 088.017 Will they not regard the camels, how they are created ? | أَفَلاَ يَنْظُرُونَ إِلَى الإِبِلِ كَيْفَ خُلِقَتْ |
| Wa 'Ilá As-Samā'i Kayfa Rufi`at | 088.018 And the heaven, how it is raised ? | وَإِلَى السَّمَاءِ كَيْفَ رُفِعَتْ |
| Wa 'Ilá Al-Jibāli Kayfa Nuşibat | 088.019 And the hills, how they are set up ? | وَإِلَى الْجِبَالِ كَيْفَ نُصِبَتْ |
| Wa 'Ilá Al-'Arđi Kayfa Suţiĥat | 088.020 And the earth, how it is spread ? | وَإِلَى الأَرْضِ كَيْفَ سُطِحَتْ |
| Fadhakkir 'Innamā 'Anta Mudhakkirun | 088.021 Remind them, for thou art but a remembrancer, | فَذَكِّرْ إِنَّمَا أَنْتَ مُذَكِّر ٌ |
| Lasta `Alayhim Bimusayţirin | 088.022 Thou art not at all a warder over them. | لَسْتَ عَلَيْهِمْ بِمُسَيْطِر ٍ |
| 'Illā Man Tawallá Wa Kafara | 088.023 But whoso is averse and disbelieveth, | إِلاَّ مَنْ تَوَلَّى وَكَفَرَ |
| Fayu`adhdhibuhu Allāhu Al-`Adhāba Al-'Akbara | 088.024 Allah will punish him with direst punishment. | فَيُعَذِّبُهُ اللَّهُ الْعَذَابَ الأَكْبَرَ |
| 'Inna 'Ilaynā 'Īābahum | 088.025 Lo! unto Us is their return | إِنَّ إِلَيْنَا إِيَابَهُمْ |
| Thumma 'Inna `Alaynā Ĥisābahum | 088.026 And Ours their reckoning. | ثُمَّ إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا حِسَابَهُمْ |
