| Wa As-Samā'i Wa Aţ-Ţāriqi | 086.001 By the heaven and the Morning Star | وَالسَّمَاءِ وَالطَّارِقِ |
| Wa Mā 'Adrāka Mā Aţ-Ţāriqu | 086.002 - Ah, what will tell thee what the Morning Star is! | وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا الطَّارِقُ |
| An-Najmu Ath-Thāqibu | 086.003 - The piercing Star! | النَّجْمُ الثَّاقِبُ |
| 'In Kullu Nafsin Lammā `Alayhā Ĥāfižun | 086.004 No human soul but hath a guardian over it. | إِنْ كُلُّ نَفْس ٍ لَمَّا عَلَيْهَا حَافِظ ٌ |
| Falyanžuri Al-'Insānu Mimma Khuliqa | 086.005 So let man consider from what he is created. | فَلْيَنظُرِ الإِنسَانُ مِمَّ خُلِقَ |
| Khuliqa Min Mā'in Dāfiqin | 086.006 He is created from a gushing fluid | خُلِقَ مِنْ مَاء ٍ دَافِق ٍ |
| Yakhruju Min Bayni Aş-Şulbi Wa At-Tarā'ibi | 086.007 That issued from between the loins and ribs. | يَخْرُجُ مِنْ بَيْنِ الصُّلْبِ وَالتَّرَائِبِ |
| 'Innahu `Alá Raj`ihi Laqādirun | 086.008 Lo! He verily is Able to return him (unto life) | إِنَّه ُُ عَلَى رَجْعِه ِِ لَقَادِر ٌ |
| Yawma Tublá As-Sarā'iru | 086.009 On the day when hidden thoughts shall be searched out. | يَوْمَ تُبْلَى السَّرَائِرُ |
| Famā Lahu Min Qūwatin Wa Lā Nāşirin | 086.010 Then will he have no might nor any helper. | فَمَا لَه ُُ مِنْ قُوَّة ٍ وَلاَ نَاصِر ٍ |
| Wa As-Samā'i Dhāti Ar-Raj`i | 086.011 By the heaven which giveth the returning rain, | وَالسَّمَاءِ ذَاتِ الرَّجْعِ |
| Wa Al-'Arđi Dhāti Aş-Şad`i | 086.012 And the earth which splitteth (with the growth of trees and plants) | وَالأَرْضِ ذَاتِ الصَّدْعِ |
| 'Innahu Laqawlun Faşlun | 086.013 Lo! this (Qur'an) is a conclusive word, | إِنَّه ُُ لَقَوْل ٌ فَصْل ٌ |
| Wa Mā Huwa Bil-Hazli | 086.014 It is no pleasantry. | وَمَا هُوَ بِالْهَزْلِ |
| 'Innahum Yakīdūna Kaydāan | 086.015 Lo! they plot a plot (against thee, O Muhammad) | إِنَّهُمْ يَكِيدُونَ كَيْدا ً |
| Wa 'Akīdu Kaydāan | 086.016 And I plot a plot (against them). | وَأَكِيدُ كَيْدا ً |
| Famahhili Al-Kāfirīna 'Amhilhum Ruwaydāan | 086.017 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal thou gently with them for a while. | فَمَهِّلِ الْكَافِرِينَ أَمْهِلْهُمْ رُوَيْدا ً |
