Al-Ĥāqqahu  | 069.001 The Reality! | الْحَاقَّةُ |
Mā Al-Ĥāqqahu  | 069.002 What is the Reality ? | مَا الْحَاقَّةُ |
Wa Mā 'Adrāka Mā Al-Ĥāqqahu  | 069.003 Ah, what will convey unto thee what the reality is! | وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا الْحَاقَّةُ |
Kadhdhabat Thamūdu Wa `Ādun Bil-Qāri`ahi  | 069.004 (The tribes of) Thamud and A'ad disbelieved in the judgment to come. | كَذَّبَتْ ثَمُودُ وَعَاد ٌ بِالْقَارِعَةِ |
Fa'ammā Thamūdu Fa'uhlikū Biţ-Ţāghiyahi  | 069.005 As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the lightning. | فَأَمَّا ثَمُودُ فَأُهْلِكُوا بِالطَّاغِيَةِ |
Wa 'Ammā `Ādun Fa'uhlikū Birīĥin Şarşarin `Ātiyahin  | 069.006 And as for A'ad, they were destroyed by a fierce roaring wind, | وَأَمَّا عَاد ٌ فَأُهْلِكُوا بِرِيح ٍ صَرْصَرٍ عَاتِيَة ٍ |
Sakhkharahā `Alayhim Sab`a Layālin Wa Thamāniyata 'Ayyāmin Ĥusūmāan Fatará Al-Qawma Fīhā Şar`á Ka'annahum 'A`jāzu Nakhlin Khāwiyahin  | 069.007 Which He imposed on them for seven long nights and eight long days so that thou mightest have seen men lying overthrown, as they were hollow trunks of palm-trees. | سَخَّرَهَا عَلَيْهِمْ سَبْعَ لَيَال ٍ وَثَمَانِيَةَ أَيَّامٍ حُسُوما ً فَتَرَى الْقَوْمَ فِيهَا صَرْعَى كَأَنَّهُمْ أَعْجَازُ نَخْلٍ خَاوِيَة ٍ |
Fahal Tará Lahum Min Bāqiyahin  | 069.008 Canst thou (O Muhammad) see any remnant of them ? | فَهَلْ تَرَى لَهُمْ مِنْ بَاقِيَة ٍ |
Wa Jā'a Fir`awnu Wa Man Qablahu Wa Al-Mu'utafikātu Bil-Khāţi'ahi  | 069.009 And Pharaoh and those before him, and the communities that were destroyed, brought error, | وَجَاءَ فِرْعَوْنُ وَمَنْ قَبْلَه ُُ وَالْمُؤْتَفِكَاتُ بِالْخَاطِئَةِ |
Fa`aşaw Rasūla Rabbihim Fa'akhadhahum 'Akhdhatan Rābiyahan  | 069.010 And they disobeyed the messenger of their Lord, therefor did He grip them with a tightening grip. | فَعَصَوْا رَسُولَ رَبِّهِمْ فَأَخَذَهُمْ أَخْذَة ً رَابِيَة ً |
'Innā Lammā Ţaghá Al-Mā'u Ĥamalnākum Fī Al-Jāriyahi  | 069.011 Lo! when the waters rose, We carried you upon the ship | إِنَّا لَمَّا طَغَى الْمَاءُ حَمَلْنَاكُمْ فِي الْجَارِيَةِ |
Linaj`alahā Lakum Tadhkiratan Wa Ta`iyahā 'Udhunun Wā`iyahun  | 069.012 That We might make it a memorial for you, and that remembering ears (that heard the story) might remember. | لِنَجْعَلَهَا لَكُمْ تَذْكِرَة ً وَتَعِيَهَا أُذُن ٌ وَاعِيَة ٌ |
Fa'idhā Nufikha Fī Aş-Şūri Nafkhatun Wāĥidahun  | 069.013 And when the trumpet shall sound one blast | فَإِذَا نُفِخَ فِي الصُّورِ نَفْخَة ٌ وَاحِدَة ٌ |
Wa Ĥumilati Al-'Arđu Wa Al-Jibālu Fadukkatā Dakkatan Wāĥidahan  | 069.014 And the earth with the mountains shall be lifted up and crushed with one crash, | وَحُمِلَتِ الأَرْضُ وَالْجِبَالُ فَدُكَّتَا دَكَّة ً وَاحِدَة ً |
Fayawma'idhin Waqa`ati Al-Wāqi`ahu  | 069.015 Then, on that day will the Event befall. | فَيَوْمَئِذ ٍ وَقَعَتِ الْوَاقِعَةُ |
Wa Anshaqqati As-Samā'u Fahiya Yawma'idhin Wa Ahiyahun  | 069.016 And the heaven will split asunder, for that day it will be frail. | وَانشَقَّتِ السَّمَاءُ فَهِيَ يَوْمَئِذ ٍ وَاهِيَة ٌ |
Wa Al-Malaku `Alá 'Arjā'ihā Wa Yaĥmilu `Arsha Rabbika Fawqahum Yawma'idhin Thamāniyahun  | 069.017 And the angels will be on the sides thereof, and eight will uphold the Throne of thy Lord that day, above them. | وَالْمَلَكُ عَلَى أَرْجَائِهَا وَيَحْمِلُ عَرْشَ رَبِّكَ فَوْقَهُمْ يَوْمَئِذ ٍ ثَمَانِيَة ٌ |
Yawma'idhin Tu`rađūna Lā Takhfá Minkum Khāfiyahun  | 069.018 On that day ye will be exposed; not a secret of you will be hidden. | يَوْمَئِذ ٍ تُعْرَضُونَ لاَ تَخْفَى مِنْكُمْ خَافِيَة ٌ |
Fa'ammā Man 'Ūtiya Kitābahu Biyamīnihi Fayaqūlu Hā'uum Aqra'ū Kitābī  | 069.019 Then, as for him who is given his record in his right hand, he will say: Take, read my book! | فَأَمَّا مَنْ أُوتِيَ كِتَابَه ُُ بِيَمِينِه ِِ فَيَقُولُ هَاؤُمْ اقْرَءُوا كِتَابِي |
'Innī Žanantu 'Annī Mulāqin Ĥisābiyah  | 069.020 Surely I knew that I should have to meet my reckoning. | إِنِّي ظَنَنتُ أَنِّي مُلاَقٍ حِسَابِيَه |
Fahuwa Fī `Īshatin Rāđiyahin  | 069.021 Then he will be in blissful state | فَهُوَ فِي عِيشَة ٍ رَاضِيَة ٍ |
Fī Jannatin `Āliyahin  | 069.022 In a high garden | فِي جَنَّةٍ عَالِيَة ٍ |
Quţūfuhā Dāniyahun  | 069.023 Whereof the clusters are in easy reach. | قُطُوفُهَا دَانِيَة ٌ |
Kulū Wa Ashrabū Hanī'āan Bimā 'Aslaftum Fī Al-'Ayyāmi Al-Khāliyahi  | 069.024 (And it will be said unto those therein): Eat and drink at ease for that which ye sent on before you in past days. | كُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا هَنِيئا ً بِمَا أَسْلَفْتُمْ فِي الأَيَّامِ الْخَالِيَةِ |
Wa 'Ammā Man 'Ūtiya Kitābahu Bishimālihi Fayaqūlu Yā Laytanī Lam 'Ūta Kitābīh  | 069.025 But as for him who is given his record in his left hand, he will say: Oh, would that I had not been given my book | وَأَمَّا مَنْ أُوتِيَ كِتَابَه ُُ بِشِمَالِه ِِ فَيَقُولُ يَا لَيْتَنِي لَمْ أُوتَ كِتَابِيهْ |
Wa Lam 'Adri Mā Ĥisābīh  | 069.026 And knew not what my reckoning! | وَلَمْ أَدْرِ مَا حِسَابِيهْ |
Yā Laytahā Kānati Al-Qāđiyaha  | 069.027 Oh, would that it had been death! | يَا لَيْتَهَا كَانَتِ الْقَاضِيَةَ |
Mā 'Aghná `Annī Mālīh  | 069.028 My wealth hath not availed me, | مَا أَغْنَى عَنِّي مَالِيهْ |
Halaka `Annī Sulţānīh  | 069.029 My power hath gone from me. | هَلَكَ عَنِّي سُلْطَانِيهْ |
Khudhūhu Faghullūhu  | 069.030 (It will be said): Take him and fetter him | خُذُوه ُُ فَغُلُّوهُ |
Thumma Al-Jaĥīma Şallūhu  | 069.031 And then expose him to hell-fire | ثُمَّ الْجَحِيمَ صَلُّوهُ |
Thumma Fī Silsilatin Dhar`uhā Sab`ūna Dhirā`āan Fāslukūhu  | 069.032 And then insert him in a chain whereof the length is seventy cubits. | ثُمَّ فِي سِلْسِلَة ٍ ذَرْعُهَا سَبْعُونَ ذِرَاعا ً فَاسْلُكُوهُ |
'Innahu Kāna Lā Yu'uminu Billāhi Al-`Ažīmi  | 069.033 Lo! He used not to believe in Allah the Tremendous, | إِنَّه ُُ كَانَ لاَ يُؤْمِنُ بِاللَّهِ الْعَظِيمِ |
Wa Lā Yaĥuđđu `Alá Ţa`āmi Al-Miskīni  | 069.034 And urged not on the feeding of the wretched. | وَلاَ يَحُضُّ عَلَى طَعَامِ الْمِسْكِينِ |
Falaysa Lahu Al-Yawma Hāhunā Ĥamīmun  | 069.035 Therefor hath he no lover here this day, | فَلَيْسَ لَهُ الْيَوْمَ هَاهُنَا حَمِيم ٌ |
Wa Lā Ţa`āmun 'Illā Min Ghislīnin  | 069.036 Nor any food save filth | وَلاَ طَعَام ٌ إِلاَّ مِنْ غِسْلِين ٍ |
Lā Ya'kuluhu 'Illā Al-Khāţi'ūna  | 069.037 Which none but sinners eat. | لاَ يَأْكُلُهُ~ُ إِلاَّ الْخَاطِئُونَ |
Falā 'Uqsimu Bimā Tubşirūna  | 069.038 But nay! I swear by all that ye see | فَلاَ أُقْسِمُ بِمَا تُبْصِرُونَ |
Wa Mā Lā Tubşirūna  | 069.039 And all that ye see not | وَمَا لاَ تُبْصِرُونَ |
'Innahu Laqawlu Rasūlin Karīmin  | 069.040 That it is indeed the speech of an illustrious messenger. | إِنَّه ُُ لَقَوْلُ رَسُول ٍ كَرِيم ٍ |
Wa Mā Huwa Biqawli Shā`irin Qalīlāan Mā Tu'uminūna  | 069.041 It is not poet's speech - little is it that ye believe! | وَمَا هُوَ بِقَوْلِ شَاعِر ٍ قَلِيلا ً مَا تُؤْمِنُونَ |
Wa Lā Biqawli Kāhinin Qalīlāan Mā Tadhakkarūna  | 069.042 Nor diviner's speech - little is it that ye remember! | وَلاَ بِقَوْلِ كَاهِن ٍ قَلِيلا ً مَا تَذَكَّرُونَ |
Tanzīlun Min Rabbi Al-`Ālamīna  | 069.043 It is a revelation from the Lord of the Worlds. | تَنزِيل ٌ مِنْ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ |
Wa Law Taqawwala `Alaynā Ba`đa Al-'Aqāwīli  | 069.044 And if he had invented false sayings concerning Us, | وَلَوْ تَقَوَّلَ عَلَيْنَا بَعْضَ الأَقَاوِيلِ |
La'akhadhnā Minhu Bil-Yamīni  | 069.045 We assuredly had taken him by the right hand | لَأَخَذْنَا مِنْهُ بِالْيَمِينِ |
Thumma Laqaţa`nā Minhu Al-Watīna  | 069.046 And then severed his life-artery, | ثُمَّ لَقَطَعْنَا مِنْهُ الْوَتِينَ |
Famā Minkum Min 'Aĥadin `Anhu Ĥājizīna  | 069.047 And not one of you could have held Us off from him. | فَمَا مِنْكُمْ مِنْ أَحَدٍ عَنْهُ حَاجِزِينَ |
Wa 'Innahu Latadhkiratun Lilmuttaqīna  | 069.048 And lo! it is a warrant unto those who ward off (evil). | وَإِنَّه ُُ لَتَذْكِرَة ٌ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ |
Wa 'Innā Lana`lamu 'Anna Minkum Mukadhdhibīna  | 069.049 And lo! We know that some among you will deny (it). | وَإِنَّا لَنَعْلَمُ أَنَّ مِنْكُمْ مُكَذِّبِينَ |
Wa 'Innahu Laĥasratun `Alá Al-Kāfirīna  | 069.050 And lo! it is indeed an anguish for the disbelievers. | وَإِنَّه ُُ لَحَسْرَةٌ عَلَى الْكَافِرِينَ |
Wa 'Innahu Laĥaqqu Al-Yaqīni  | 069.051 And lo! it is absolute truth. | وَإِنَّه ُُ لَحَقُّ الْيَقِينِ |
Fasabbiĥ Biāsmi Rabbika Al-`Ažīmi  | 069.052 So glorify the name of thy Tremendous Lord. | فَسَبِّحْ بِاسْمِ رَبِّكَ الْعَظِيمِ |
