51) Sūrat Adh-Dhāriyāt | Printed format | 51) سُورَة الذَّارِيَات |
| Wa Adh-Dhāriyāti Dharwan | 051.001 By those that winnow with a winnowing | وَالذَّارِيَاتِ ذَرْوا ً |
| Fālĥāmilāti Wiqrāan | 051.002 And those that bear the burden (of the rain) | فَالْحَامِلاَتِ وِقْرا ً |
| Fāljāriyāti Yusrāan | 051.003 And those that glide with ease (upon the sea) | فَالْجَارِيَاتِ يُسْرا ً |
| Fālmuqassimāti 'Amrāan | 051.004 And those who distribute (blessings) by command, | فَالْمُقَسِّمَاتِ أَمْرا ً |
| 'Innamā Tū`adūna Laşādiqun | 051.005 Lo! that wherewith ye are threatened is indeed true, | إِنَّمَا تُوعَدُونَ لَصَادِق ٌ |
| Wa 'Inna Ad-Dīna Lawāqi`un | 051.006 And lo! the judgment will indeed befall. | وَإِنَّ الدِّينَ لَوَاقِع ٌ |
| Wa As-Samā'i Dhāti Al-Ĥubuki | 051.007 By the heaven full of paths, | وَالسَّمَاءِ ذَاتِ الْحُبُكِ |
| 'Innakum Lafī Qawlin Mukhtalifin | 051.008 Lo! ye, forsooth, are of various opinion (concerning the truth). | إِنَّكُمْ لَفِي قَوْل ٍ مُخْتَلِف ٍ |
| Yu'ufaku `Anhu Man 'Ufika | 051.009 He is made to turn away from it who is (himself) averse. | يُؤْفَكُ عَنْهُ مَنْ أُفِكَ |
| Qutila Al-Kharrāşūna | 051.010 Accursed be the conjecturers | قُتِلَ الْخَرَّاصُونَ |
| Al-Ladhīna Hum Fī Ghamratin Sāhūna | 051.011 Who are careless in an abyss! | الَّذِينَ هُمْ فِي غَمْرَة ٍ سَاهُونَ |
| Yas'alūna 'Ayyāna Yawmu Ad-Dīni | 051.012 They ask: When is the Day of Judgment ? | يَسْأَلُونَ أَيَّانَ يَوْمُ الدِّينِ |
| Yawma Hum `Alá An-Nāri Yuftanūna | 051.013 (It is) the day when they will be tormented at the Fire, | يَوْمَ هُمْ عَلَى النَّارِ يُفْتَنُونَ |
| Dhūqū Fitnatakum Hādhā Al-Ladhī Kuntum Bihi Tasta`jilūna | 051.014 (And it will be said unto them): Taste your torment (which ye inflicted). This is what ye sought to hasten. | ذُوقُوا فِتْنَتَكُمْ هَذَا الَّذِي كُنتُمْ بِه ِِ تَسْتَعْجِلُونَ |
| 'Inna Al-Muttaqīna Fī Jannātin Wa `Uyūnin | 051.015 Lo! those who keep from evil will dwell amid gardens and watersprings, | إِنَّ الْمُتَّقِينَ فِي جَنَّات ٍ وَعُيُون ٍ |
| 'Ākhidhīna Mā 'Ātāhum Rabbuhum 'Innahum Kānū Qabla Dhālika Muĥsinīna | 051.016 Taking that which their Lord giveth them; for lo! aforetime they were doers of good; | آخِذِينَ مَا آتَاهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا قَبْلَ ذَلِكَ مُحْسِنِينَ |
| Kānū Qalīlāan Mina Al-Layli Mā Yahja`ūna | 051.017 They used to sleep but little of the night, | كَانُوا قَلِيلا ً مِنَ اللَّيْلِ مَا يَهْجَعُونَ |
| Wa Bil-'Asĥāri Hum Yastaghfirūna | 051.018 And ere the dawning of each day would seek forgiveness, | وَبِالأَسْحَارِ هُمْ يَسْتَغْفِرُونَ |
| Wa Fī 'Amwālihim Ĥaqqun Lilssā'ili Wa Al-Maĥrūmi | 051.019 And in their wealth the beggar and the outcast had due share. | وَفِي أَمْوَالِهِمْ حَقّ ٌ لِلسَّائِلِ وَالْمَحْرُومِ |
| Wa Fī Al-'Arđi 'Āyātun Lilmūqinīna | 051.020 And in the earth are portents for those whose faith is sure. | وَفِي الأَرْضِ آيَات ٌ لِلْمُوقِنِينَ |
| Wa Fī 'Anfusikum 'Afalā Tubşirūna | 051.021 And (also) in yourselves. Can ye then not see ? | وَفِي أَنفُسِكُمْ أَفَلاَ تُبْصِرُونَ |
| Wa Fī As-Samā'i Rizqukum Wa Mā Tū`adūna | 051.022 And in the heaven is your providence and that which ye are promised; | وَفِي السَّمَاءِ رِزْقُكُمْ وَمَا تُوعَدُونَ |
| Fawarabbi As-Samā'i Wa Al-'Arđi 'Innahu Laĥaqqun Mithla Mā 'Annakum Tanţiqūna | 051.023 And by the Lord of the heavens and the earth, it is the truth, even as (it is true) that ye speak. | فَوَرَبِّ السَّمَاءِ وَالأَرْضِ إِنَّه ُُ لَحَقّ ٌ مِثْلَ مَا أَنَّكُمْ تَنطِقُونَ |
| Hal 'Atāka Ĥadīthu Đayfi 'Ibrāhīma Al-Mukramīna | 051.024 Hath the story of Abraham's honoured guests reached thee (O Muhammad) ? | هَلْ أَتَاكَ حَدِيثُ ضَيْفِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْمُكْرَمِينَ |
| 'Idh Dakhalū `Alayhi Faqālū Salāmāan Qāla Salāmun Qawmun Munkarūna | 051.025 When they came in unto him and said: Peace! he answered, Peace! (and thought): Folk unknown (to me). | إِذْ دَخَلُوا عَلَيْهِ فَقَالُوا سَلاَما ً قَالَ سَلاَم ٌ قَوْم ٌ مُنكَرُونَ |
| Farāgha 'Ilá 'Ahlihi Fajā'a Bi`ijlin Samīnin | 051.026 Then he went apart unto his housefolk so that they brought a fatted calf; | فَرَاغَ إِلَى أَهْلِه ِِ فَجَاءَ بِعِجْل ٍ سَمِين ٍ |
| Faqarrabahu 'Ilayhim Qāla 'Alā Ta'kulūna | 051.027 And he set it before them, saying: Will ye not eat ? | فَقَرَّبَهُ~ُ إِلَيْهِمْ قَالَ أَلاَ تَأْكُلُونَ |
| Fa'awjasa Minhum Khīfatan Qālū Lā Takhaf Wa Bashsharūhu Bighulāmin `Alīmin | 051.028 Then he conceived a fear of them. They said: Fear not! and gave him tidings of (the birth of) a wise son. | فَأَوْجَسَ مِنْهُمْ خِيفَة ً قَالُوا لاَ تَخَفْ وَبَشَّرُوه ُُ بِغُلاَمٍ عَلِيم ٍ |
| Fa'aqbalati Amra'atuhu Fī Şarratin Faşakkat Wajhahā Wa Qālat `Ajūzun `Aqīmun | 051.029 Then his wife came forward, making moan, and smote her face, and cried: A barren old woman! | فَأَقْبَلَتِ امْرَأَتُه ُُ فِي صَرَّة ٍ فَصَكَّتْ وَجْهَهَا وَقَالَتْ عَجُوزٌ عَقِيم ٌ |
| Qālū Kadhāliki Qāla Rabbuki 'Innahu Huwa Al-Ĥakīmu Al-`Alīmu | 051.030 They said: Even so saith thy Lord. Lo! He is the Wise, the Knower. | قَالُوا كَذَلِكِ قَالَ رَبُّكِ إِنَّه ُُ هُوَ الْحَكِيمُ الْعَلِيمُ |
| Qāla Famā Khaţbukum 'Ayyuhā Al-Mursalūna | 051.031 (Abraham) said: And (afterward) what is your errand, O ye sent (from Allah) ? | قَالَ فَمَا خَطْبُكُمْ أَيُّهَا الْمُرْسَلُونَ |
| Qālū 'Innā 'Ursilnā 'Ilá Qawmin Mujrimīna | 051.032 They said: Lo! we are sent unto a guilty folk, | قَالُوا إِنَّا أُرْسِلْنَا إِلَى قَوْم ٍ مُجْرِمِينَ |
| Linursila `Alayhim Ĥijāratan Min Ţīnin | 051.033 That we may send upon them stones of clay, | لِنُرْسِلَ عَلَيْهِمْ حِجَارَة ً مِنْ طِين ٍ |
| Musawwamatan `Inda Rabbika Lilmusrifīna | 051.034 Marked by thy Lord for (the destruction of) the wanton. | مُسَوَّمَةً عِنْدَ رَبِّكَ لِلْمُسْرِفِينَ |
| Fa'akhrajnā Man Kāna Fīhā Mina Al-Mu'uminīna | 051.035 Then we brought forth such believers as were there. | فَأَخْرَجْنَا مَنْ كَانَ فِيهَا مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ |
| Famā Wajadnā Fīhā Ghayra Baytin Mina Al-Muslimīna | 051.036 But We found there but one house of those surrendered (to Allah). | فَمَا وَجَدْنَا فِيهَا غَيْرَ بَيْت ٍ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ |
| Wa Taraknā Fīhā 'Āyatan Lilladhīna Yakhāfūna Al-`Adhāba Al-'Alīma | 051.037 And We left behind therein a portent for those who fear a painful doom. | وَتَرَكْنَا فِيهَا آيَة ً لِلَّذِينَ يَخَافُونَ الْعَذَابَ الأَلِيمَ |
| Wa Fī Mūsá 'Idh 'Arsalnāhu 'Ilá Fir`awna Bisulţānin Mubīnin | 051.038 And in Moses (too, there is a portent) when We sent him unto Pharaoh with clear warrant, | وَفِي مُوسَى إِذْ أَرْسَلْنَاهُ~ُ إِلَى فِرْعَوْنَ بِسُلْطَان ٍ مُبِين ٍ |
| Fatawallá Biruknihi Wa Qāla Sāĥirun 'Aw Majnūnun | 051.039 But he withdrew (confiding) in his might, and said: A wizard or a madman. | فَتَوَلَّى بِرُكْنِه ِِ وَقَالَ سَاحِرٌ أَوْ مَجْنُون ٌ |
| Fa'akhadhnāhu Wa Junūdahu Fanabadhnāhum Fī Al-Yammi Wa Huwa Mulīmun | 051.040 So We seized him and his hosts and flung them in the sea, for he was reprobate. | فَأَخَذْنَاه ُُ وَجُنُودَه ُُ فَنَبَذْنَاهُمْ فِي الْيَمِّ وَهُوَ مُلِيم ٌ |
| Wa Fī `Ādin 'Idh 'Arsalnā `Alayhimu Ar-Rīĥa Al-`Aqīma | 051.041 And in (the tribe of) A'ad (there is a portent) when we sent the fatal wind against them. | وَفِي عَاد ٍ إِذْ أَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمُ الرِّيحَ الْعَقِيمَ |
| Mā Tadharu Min Shay'in 'Atat `Alayhi 'Illā Ja`alat/hu Kālrramīmi | 051.042 It spared naught that it reached, but made it (all) as dust. | مَا تَذَرُ مِنْ شَيْءٍ أَتَتْ عَلَيْهِ إِلاَّ جَعَلَتْهُ كَالرَّمِيمِ |
| Wa Fī Thamūda 'Idh Qīla Lahum Tamatta`ū Ĥattá Ĥīnin | 051.043 And in (the tribe of) Thamud (there is a portent) when it was told them: Take your ease awhile. | وَفِي ثَمُودَ إِذْ قِيلَ لَهُمْ تَمَتَّعُوا حَتَّى حِين ٍ |
| Fa`ataw `An 'Amri Rabbihim Fa'akhadhat/humu Aş-Şā`iqatu Wa Hum Yanžurūna | 051.044 But they rebelled against their Lord's decree, and so the thunderbolt overtook them even while they gazed; | فَعَتَوْا عَنْ أَمْرِ رَبِّهِمْ فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ الصَّاعِقَةُ وَهُمْ يَنظُرُونَ |
| Famā Astaţā`ū Min Qiyāmin Wa Mā Kānū Muntaşirīna | 051.045 And they were unable to rise up, nor could they help themselves. | فَمَا اسْتَطَاعُوا مِنْ قِيَام ٍ وَمَا كَانُوا مُنتَصِرِينَ |
| Wa Qawma Nūĥin Min Qablu 'Innahum Kānū Qawmāan Fāsiqīna | 051.046 And the folk of Noah aforetime. Lo! they were licentious folk. | وَقَوْمَ نُوح ٍ مِنْ قَبْلُ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا قَوْما ً فَاسِقِينَ |
| Wa As-Samā'a Banaynāhā Bi'ayydin Wa 'Innā Lamūsi`ūna | 051.047 We have built the heaven with might, and We it is Who make the vast extent (thereof). | وَالسَّمَاءَ بَنَيْنَاهَا بِأَيْيد ٍ وَإِنَّا لَمُوسِعُونَ |
| Wa Al-'Arđa Farashnāhā Fani`ma Al-Māhidūna | 051.048 And the earth have We laid out, how gracious is the Spreader (thereof)! | وَالأَرْضَ فَرَشْنَاهَا فَنِعْمَ الْمَاهِدُونَ |
| Wa Min Kulli Shay'in Khalaqnā Zawjayni La`allakum Tadhakkarūna | 051.049 And all things We have created by pairs, that haply ye may reflect. | وَمِنْ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ خَلَقْنَا زَوْجَيْنِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَذَكَّرُونَ |
| Fafirrū 'Ilá Allāhi 'Innī Lakum Minhu Nadhīrun Mubīnun | 051.050 Therefor flee unto Allah; lo! I am a plain warner unto you from him. | فَفِرُّوا إِلَى اللَّهِ إِنِّي لَكُمْ مِنْهُ نَذِير ٌ مُبِين ٌ |
| Wa Lā Taj`alū Ma`a Allāhi 'Ilahāan 'Ākhara 'Innī Lakum Minhu Nadhīrun Mubīnun | 051.051 And set not any other god along with Allah; lo! I am a plain warner unto you from Him. | وَلاَ تَجْعَلُوا مَعَ اللَّهِ إِلَها ً آخَرَ إِنِّي لَكُمْ مِنْهُ نَذِير ٌ مُبِين ٌ |
| Kadhālika Mā 'Atá Al-Ladhīna Min Qablihim Min Rasūlin 'Illā Qālū Sāĥirun 'Aw Majnūnun | 051.052 Even so there came no messenger unto those before them but they said: A wizard or a madman! | كَذَلِكَ مَا أَتَى الَّذِينَ مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْ مِنْ رَسُول ٍ إِلاَّ قَالُوا سَاحِرٌ أَوْ مَجْنُون ٌ |
| 'Atawāşaw Bihi Bal Hum Qawmun Ţāghūna | 051.053 Have they handed down (the saying) as an heirloom one unto another ? Nay, but they are froward folk. | أَتَوَاصَوْا بِه ِِ بَلْ هُمْ قَوْم ٌ طَاغُونَ |
| Fatawalla `Anhum Famā 'Anta Bimalūmin | 051.054 So withdraw from them (O Muhammad), for thou art in no wise blameworthy, | فَتَوَلَّ عَنْهُمْ فَمَا أَنْتَ بِمَلُوم ٍ |
| Wa Dhakkir Fa'inna Adh-Dhikrá Tanfa`u Al-Mu'uminīna | 051.055 And warn, for warning profiteth believers. | وَذَكِّرْ فَإِنَّ الذِّكْرَى تَنفَعُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ |
| Wa Mā Khalaqtu Al-Jinna Wa Al-'Insa 'Illā Liya`budūni | 051.056 I created the jinn and humankind only that they might worship Me. | وَمَا خَلَقْتُ الْجِنَّ وَالإِنسَ إِلاَّ لِيَعْبُدُونِ |
| Mā 'Urīdu Minhum Min Rizqin Wa Mā 'Urīdu 'An Yuţ`imūni | 051.057 I seek no livelihood from them, nor do I ask that they should feed Me. | مَا أُرِيدُ مِنْهُمْ مِنْ رِزْق ٍ وَمَا أُرِيدُ أَنْ يُطْعِمُونِ |
| 'Inna Allāha Huwa Ar-Razzāqu Dhū Al-Qūwati Al-Matīnu | 051.058 Lo! Allah! He it is that giveth livelihood, the Lord of unbreakable might. | إِنَّ اللَّهَ هُوَ الرَّزَّاقُ ذُو الْقُوَّةِ الْمَتِينُ |
| Fa'inna Lilladhīna Žalamū Dhanūbāan Mithla Dhanūbi 'Aşĥābihim Falā Yasta`jilūni | 051.059 And lo! for those who (now) do wrong there is an evil day like unto the evil day (which came for) their likes (of old); so let them not ask Me to hasten on (that day). | فَإِنَّ لِلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا ذَنُوبا ً مِثْلَ ذَنُوبِ أَصْحَابِهِمْ فَلاَ يَسْتَعْجِلُونِ |
| Fawaylun Lilladhīna Kafarū Min Yawmihimu Al-Ladhī Yū`adūna | 051.060 And woe unto those who disbelieve, from (that) their day which they are promised. | فَوَيْل ٌ لِلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا مِنْ يَوْمِهِمُ الَّذِي يُوعَدُونَ |
