Sabbiĥi Asma Rabbika Al-'A`lá  | Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High, (Al-A'la 87:1) | سَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الأَعْلَى |
Al-Ladhī Khalaqa Fasawwá  | Who has created (everything), and then proportioned it; (Al-A'la 87:2) | الَّذِي خَلَقَ فَسَوَّى |
Wa Al-Ladhī Qaddara Fahadá  | And Who has measured (preordainments for each and everything even to be blessed or wretched); then guided (i.e. showed mankind the right as well as wrong paths, and guided the animals to pasture); (Al-A'la 87:3) | وَالَّذِي قَدَّرَ فَهَدَى |
Wa Al-Ladhī 'Akhraja Al-Mar`á  | And Who brings out the pasturage, (Al-A'la 87:4) | وَالَّذِي أَخْرَجَ الْمَرْعَى |
Faja`alahu Ghuthā'an 'Aĥwá  | And then makes it dark stubble. (Al-A'la 87:5) | فَجَعَلَه ُُ غُثَاءً أَحْوَى |
Sanuqri'uka Falā Tansá  | We shall make you to recite (the Qur'ān), so you (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) shall not forget (it), (Al-A'la 87:6) | سَنُقْرِئُكَ فَلاَ تَنسَى |
'Illā Mā Shā'a Allāhu 'Innahu Ya`lamu Al-Jahra Wa Mā Yakhfá  | Except what Allāh, may will, He knows what is apparent and what is hidden. (Al-A'la 87:7) | إِلاَّ مَا شَاءَ اللَّهُ إِنَّه ُُ يَعْلَمُ الْجَهْرَ وَمَا يَخْفَى |
Wa Nuyassiruka Lilyusrá  | And We shall make easy for you (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) the easy way (i.e. the doing of righteous deeds). (Al-A'la 87:8) | وَنُيَسِّرُكَ لِلْيُسْرَى |
Fadhakkir 'In Nafa`ati Adh-Dhikrá  | Therefore remind (men) in case the reminder profits (them). (Al-A'la 87:9) | فَذَكِّرْ إِنْ نَفَعَتِ الذِّكْرَى |
Sayadhdhakkaru Man Yakhshá  | The reminder will be received by him who fears (Allāh), (Al-A'la 87:10) | سَيَذَّكَّرُ مَنْ يَخْشَى |
Wa Yatajannabuhā Al-'Ashqá  | But it will be avoided by the wretched, (Al-A'la 87:11) | وَيَتَجَنَّبُهَا الأَشْقَى |
Al-Ladhī Yaşlá An-Nāra Al-Kubrá  | Who will enter the great Fire and made to taste its burning, (Al-A'la 87:12) | الَّذِي يَصْلَى النَّارَ الْكُبْرَى |
Thumma Lā Yamūtu Fīhā Wa Lā Yaĥyā  | Wherein he will neither die (to be in rest) nor live (a good living). (Al-A'la 87:13) | ثُمَّ لاَ يَمُوتُ فِيهَا وَلاَ يَحْيَا |
Qad 'Aflaĥa Man Tazakká  | Indeed whosoever purifies himself (by avoiding polytheism and accepting Islāmic Monotheism) shall achieve success, (Al-A'la 87:14) | قَدْ أَفْلَحَ مَنْ تَزَكَّى |
Wa Dhakara Asma Rabbihi Faşallá  | And remembers (glorifies) the Name of his Lord (worships none but Allāh), and prays (five compulsory prayers and Nawāfil additional prayers). (Al-A'la 87:15) | وَذَكَرَ اسْمَ رَبِّه ِِ فَصَلَّى |
Bal Tu'uthirūna Al-Ĥayāata Ad-Dunyā  | Nay, you prefer the life of this world; (Al-A'la 87:16) | بَلْ تُؤْثِرُونَ الْحَيَاةَ الدُّنْيَا |
Wa Al-'Ākhiratu Khayrun Wa 'Abqá  | Although the Hereafter is better and more lasting. (Al-A'la 87:17) | وَالآخِرَةُ خَيْر ٌ وَأَبْقَى |
'Inna Hādhā Lafī Aş-Şuĥufi Al-'Ūlá  | Verily! This is in the former Scriptures, (Al-A'la 87:18) | إِنَّ هَذَا لَفِي الصُّحُفِ الأُولَى |
Şuĥufi 'Ibrāhīma Wa Mūsá  | The Scriptures of Ibrāhim (Abraham) and Mûsa (Moses). (Al-A'la 87:19) | صُحُفِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَمُوسَى |
