80) Sūrat `Abasa

`Abasa Wa Tawallá (The Prophet (Peace be upon him)) frowned and turned away, ('Abasa 80:1)
'An Jā'ahu Al-'A`má Because there came to him the blind man (i.e. 'Abdullāh bin Umm-Maktm, who came to the Prophet (Peace be upon him) while he was preaching to one or some of the Quraish chiefs). ('Abasa 80:2) ‍‍
Wa Mā Yudrīka La`allahu Yazzakká But what could tell you that per chance he might become pure (from sins)? ('Abasa 80:3) ‌ ‍‍‍‍‍ ‍
'Aw Yadhdhakkaru Fatanfa`ahu Adh-Dhikrá Or that he might receive admonition, and that the admonition might profit him? ('Abasa 80:4) ‌‌ ‌ ‍‌‍‍‍‍
'Ammā Mani Astagh As for him who thinks himself self-sufficient, ('Abasa 80:5) ‍‌ ‍‍
Fa'anta Lahu Taşaddá To him you attend; ('Abasa 80:6) ‍ ‍‍‍‍‍‌
Wa Mā `Alayka 'Allā Yazzakká What does it matter to you if he will not become pure (from disbelief, you are only a Messenger, your duty is to convey the Message of Allāh). ('Abasa 80:7) ‌ ‍‍‍‍ ‌‌
Wa 'Ammā Man Jā'aka Yas`á But as to him who came to you running. ('Abasa 80:8) ‍‌ ‍‌‍‍
Wa Huwa Yakhshá And is afraid (of Allāh and His Punishment), ('Abasa 80:9) ‌ ‍‍‍
Fa'anta `Anhu Talahhá Of him you are neglectful and divert your attention to another, ('Abasa 80:10) ‍ ‍‌‍‍
Kallā 'Innahā Tadhkiratun Nay, (do not do like this), indeed it (these Verses of this Qur'ān) are an admonition, ('Abasa 80:11) ‌ ‌‍‌ ‍
Faman Shā'a Dhakarahu So whoever wills, let him pay attention to it. ('Abasa 80:12) ‍‌‍‍‌‌ ‌‍
Şuĥufin Mukarramatin (It is) in Records held (greatly) in honour (Al-Lauh Al-Mahfz). ('Abasa 80:13) ‌ ‍
Marfū`atin Muţahharatin Exalted (in dignity), purified, ('Abasa 80:14) ‌ ‍‍‍‍‍
Bi'aydī Safaratin In the hands of scribes (angels). ('Abasa 80:15)
Kirāmin Bararatin Honourable and obedient. ('Abasa 80:16) ‍‌ ‌ ‍‌‍
Qutila Al-'Insānu Mā 'Akfarahu Be cursed (the disbelieving) man! How ungrateful he is! ('Abasa 80:17) ‍‍‍‍‌ ‌‍
Min 'Ayyi Shay'in Khalaqahu From what thing did He create him? ('Abasa 80:18) ‍‌ ‌ ‍‍‍‍‍‍‍
Min Nuţfatin Khalaqahu Faqaddarahu From Nutfah (male and female semen drops) He created him, and then set him in due proportion; ('Abasa 80:19) ‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍
Thumma As-Sabīla Yassarahu Then He makes the Path easy for him; ('Abasa 80:20) ‍‍‍‍‍‍ ‍
Thumma 'Amātahu Fa'aqbarahu Then He causes him to die, and puts him in his grave; ('Abasa 80:21) ‌‍ ‍‍‍‍
Thumma 'Idhā Shā'a 'Ansharahu Then, when it is His Will, He will resurrect him (again). ('Abasa 80:22) ‌‌‌‌ ‍‍‍‌‌ ‌‌‍‍
Kallā Lammā Yaqđi Mā 'Amarahu Nay, but (man) has not done what He commanded him. ('Abasa 80:23) ‌ ‍‍‍‍‌ ‍‍‍‍‍‌ ‌‍
Falyanžuri Al-'Insānu 'Ilá Ţa`āmihi Then let man look at his food, ('Abasa 80:24) ‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌ ‍‍‍‍ ‌‌
'Annā Şabab Al-Mā'a Şabbāan That We pour forth water in abundance, ('Abasa 80:25) ‍‌ ‍‍‍‍‍‌ ‍‍‌‌ ‍‍
Thumma Shaqaq Al-'Arđa Shaqqāan And We split the earth in clefts, ('Abasa 80:26) ‍‍‍‍‍‌ ‌‍‍‍‍‍
Fa'anbatnā Fīhā Ĥabbāan And We cause therein the grain to grow, ('Abasa 80:27) ‍‌ ‌ ‍‍‍
Wa `Inabāan Wa Qađbāan And grapes and clover plants (i.e. green fodder for the cattle), ('Abasa 80:28) ‌ ‌‍‍‍
Wa Zaytūnāan Wa Nakhlāan And olives and date-palms, ('Abasa 80:29) ‌ ‌‍‍‍
Wa Ĥadā'iqa Ghulbāan And gardens, dense with many trees, ('Abasa 80:30) ‍‍‌
Wa Fākihatan Wa 'Abbāan And fruits and Abba (herbage, etc.), ('Abasa 80:31) ‌ ‌‌
Matā`āan Lakum Wa Li'an`āmikum (To be) a provision and benefit for you and your cattle. ('Abasa 80:32) ‌ ‌‌
Fa'idhā Jā'ati Aş-Şākhkhatu Then, when there comes As-Sākhkhah (the Day of Resurrection's second blowing of Trumpet), ('Abasa 80:33) ‌‌‌ ‍‍‍‍‍
Yawma Yafirru Al-Mar'u Min 'Akhīhi That Day shall a man flee from his brother, ('Abasa 80:34) ‍‍‌ ‌‌ ‍‌ ‌‍
Wa 'Ummihi Wa 'Abīhi And from his mother and his father, ('Abasa 80:35) ‌‌
Wa Şāĥibatihi Wa Banīhi And from his wife and his children. ('Abasa 80:36) ‍‍
Likulli Amri'in Minhum Yawma'idhin Sha'nun Yughnīhi Everyman, that Day, will have enough to make him careless of others. ('Abasa 80:37) ‌ ‍‌‍‍‍ ‌‌ ‍‍‍
Wujūhun Yawma'idhin Musfiratun Some faces that Day, will be bright (true believers of Islāmic Monotheism). ('Abasa 80:38) ‍‍‌ ‍
Đāĥikatun Mustabshiratun Laughing, rejoicing at good news (of Paradise). ('Abasa 80:39) ‌ ‍‍‍‍‍
Wa Wujūhun Yawma'idhin `Alayhā Ghabaratun And other faces, that Day, will be dust-stained; ('Abasa 80:40) ‌‍‍‍‌ ‌ ‌ ‍‍
Tarhaquhā Qataratun Darkness will cover them, ('Abasa 80:41) ‍‍‍‌ ‍‍
'Ūlā'ika Humu Al-Kafaratu Al-Fajaratu Such will be the Kafarah (disbelievers in Allāh, in His Oneness, and in His Messenger Muhammad (Peace be upon him), etc.), the Fajarah (wicked evil doers). ('Abasa 80:42) ‍‍‌‍‍‍
