What are they asking (one another)? (An-Naba 78:1)
عَمَّ يَتَسَاءَلُونَ
`Ani An-Naba'i Al-`Ažīmi
About the great news, (i.e. Islāmic Monotheism, the Qur'ān, which Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him)brought and the Day of Resurrection, etc.), (An-Naba 78:2)
عَنِ النَّبَإِ الْعَظِيمِ
Al-Ladhī Hum Fīhi Mukhtalifūna
About which they are in disagreement. (An-Naba 78:3)
الَّذِي هُمْ فِيهِ مُخْتَلِفُونَ
Kallā Saya`lamūna
Nay, they will come to know! (An-Naba 78:4)
كَلاَّ سَيَعْلَمُونَ
Thumma Kallā Saya`lamūna
Nay, again, they will come to know! (An-Naba 78:5)
ثُمَّ كَلاَّ سَيَعْلَمُونَ
'Alam Naj`ali Al-'Arđa Mihādāan
Have We not made the earth as a bed, (An-Naba 78:6)
أَلَمْ نَجْعَلِ الأَرْضَ مِهَاداً
Wa Al-Jibāla 'Awtādāan
And the mountains as pegs? (An-Naba 78:7)
وَالْجِبَالَ أَوْتَاداً
Wa Khalaqnākum 'Azwājāan
And We have created you in pairs (male and female, tall and short, good and bad, etc.). (An-Naba 78:8)
وَخَلَقْنَاكُمْ أَزْوَاجاً
Wa Ja`alnā Nawmakum Subātāan
And have made your sleep as a thing for rest. (An-Naba 78:9)
وَجَعَلْنَا نَوْمَكُمْ سُبَاتاً
Wa Ja`alnā Al-Layla Libāsāan
And have made the night as a covering (through its darkness), (An-Naba 78:10)
وَجَعَلْنَا اللَّيْلَ لِبَاساً
Wa Ja`alnā An-Nahāra Ma`āshāan
And have made the day for livelihood. (An-Naba 78:11)
وَجَعَلْنَا النَّهَارَ مَعَاشاً
Wa Banaynā Fawqakum Sab`āanShidādāan
And We have built above you seven strong (heavens), (An-Naba 78:12)
And the mountains shall be moved away from their places and they will be as if they were a mirage. (An-Naba 78:20)
وَسُيِّرَتِ الْجِبَالُ فَكَانَتْ سَرَاباً
'Inna Jahannama Kānat Mirşādāan
Truly, Hell is a place of ambush, (An-Naba 78:21)
إِنَّ جَهَنَّمَ كَانَتْ مِرْصَاداً
Lilţţāghīna Ma'ābāan
A dwelling place for the Tāghûn (those who transgress the boundry limits set by Allāh like polytheists, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allāh, hyprocrites, sinners, criminals, etc.), (An-Naba 78:22)
لِلْطَّاغِينَ مَآباً
Lābithīna Fīhā 'Aĥqābāan
They will abide therein for ages, (An-Naba 78:23)
لاَبِثِينَ فِيهَا أَحْقَاباً
Lā Yadhūqūna Fīhā Bardāan Wa Lā Sharābāan
Nothing cool shall they taste therein, nor any drink. (An-Naba 78:24)
Except boiling water, and dirty wound discharges. (An-Naba 78:25)
إِلاَّ حَمِيما ً وَغَسَّاقاً
Jazā'an Wifāqāan
An exact recompense (according to their evil crimes). (An-Naba 78:26)
جَزَاء ً وِفَاقاً
'Innahum Kānū Lā Yarjūna Ĥisābāan
For verily, they used not to look for a reckoning. (An-Naba 78:27)
إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا لاَ يَرْجُونَ حِسَاباً
Wa Kadhdhabū Bi'āyātinā Kidhdhābāan
But they belied Our Ayāt (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, and that which Our Prophet (Peace be upon him) brought) completely. (An-Naba 78:28)
وَكَذَّبُوا بِآيَاتِنَا كِذَّاباً
Wa Kulla Shay'in 'Aĥşaynāhu Kitābāan
And all things We have recorded in a Book. (An-Naba 78:29)
وَكُلَّ شَيْءٍ أَحْصَيْنَاهُ كِتَاباً
Fadhūqū Falan Nazīdakum 'Illā `Adhābāan
So taste you (the results of your evil actions); no increase shall We give you, except in torment. (An-Naba 78:30)
Rabbi As-Samāwāti Wa Al-'Arđi Wa Mā Baynahumā Ar-Raĥmāni ۖ Lā Yamlikūna Minhu Khiţābāan
(From) the Lord of the heavens and the earth, and whatsoever is in between them, the Most Beneficent, none can dare to speak with Him (on the Day of Resurrection except after His Leave). (An-Naba 78:37)
Yawma Yaqūmu Ar-Rūĥu Wa Al-Malā'ikatu Şaffāan ۖ Lā Yatakallamūna 'Illā Man 'Adhina Lahu Ar-Raĥmānu Wa Qāla Şawābāan
The Day that Ar-Rûh [Jibrael (Gabriel) or another angel] and the angels will stand forth in rows, none shall speak except him whom the Most Beneficent (Allāh) allows, and he will speak what is right. (An-Naba 78:38)
That is without doubt the True Day, so, whosoever wills, let him seek a place with (or a way to) His Lord (by obeying Him in this worldly life)! (An-Naba 78:39)
Verily, We have warned you of a near torment, the Day when man will see that (the deeds) which his hands have sent forth, and the disbeliever will say: "Woe to me! Would that I were dust!" (An-Naba 78:40)
