Ar-Ra ĥmā nu
The Most Beneficent (Allāh)! (Ar-Rahman 55:1)
ا ل رَّ حمَانُ
`Allama A l-Q ur'ā na
Has taught (you mankind) the Qur'ān (by His Mercy). (Ar-Rahman 55:2)
عَلَّمَ ا لْقُ رْآنَ
Kh alaq a A l-'In sā na
He created man. (Ar-Rahman 55:3)
خَ لَقَ ا لإِن سَانَ
`Allamahu A l-Bayā na
He taught him eloquent speech. (Ar-Rahman 55:4)
عَلَّمَهُ ا لْبَيَانَ
Ash -Sh am su Wa A l-Q amaru Biĥusbā nin
The sun and the moon run on their fixed courses (exactly) calculated with measured out stages for each (for reckoning, etc.). (Ar-Rahman 55:5)
ا ل شَّمْسُ وَا لْقَ مَرُ بِحُسْبَانٍ
Wa A n -Naj mu Wa A sh -Sh ajaru Yasjudā ni
And the herbs (or stars) and the trees both prostrate. (Ar-Rahman 55:6)
وَالنَّ جْ مُ وَا ل شَّجَرُ يَسْجُدَانِ
Wa A s-Samā 'a Ra fa`ahā Wa Wađa`a A l-Mīzā na
And the heaven He has raised high, and He has set up the Balance. (Ar-Rahman 55:7)
وَالسَّمَا ءَ رَ فَعَهَا وَوَضَ عَ ا لْمِيزَانَ
'Allā Taţ gh aw Fī A l-Mīzā ni
In order that you may not transgress (due) balance. (Ar-Rahman 55:8)
أَلاَّ تَطْ غَ وْا فِي ا لْمِيزَانِ
Wa 'Aq īmū A l-Wazna Bil-Q isţ i Wa Lā Tukh sirū A l-Mīzā na
And observe the weight with equity and do not make the balance deficient. (Ar-Rahman 55:9)
وَأَقِ يمُوا ا لْوَزْنَ بِا لْقِ سْطِ وَلاَ تُخْ سِرُوا ا لْمِيزَانَ
Wa A l-'Arđa Wađa`ahā Lil'anā mi
And the earth He has put for the creatures. (Ar-Rahman 55:10)
وَالأَرْضَ وَضَ عَهَا لِلأَنَامِ
Fīhā Fākihatun Wa A n -Nakh lu Dh ā tu A l-'Akmā mi
Therein are fruits, date-palms producing sheathed fruit-stalks (enclosing dates). (Ar-Rahman 55:11)
فِيهَا فَاكِهَةٌ وَا ل نَّ خْ لُ ذَا تُ ا لأَكْمَامِ
Wa A l-Ĥabbu Dh ū A l-`Aş fi Wa A r-Ra yĥā nu
And also corn, with (its) leaves and stalk for fodder, and sweet-scented plants. (Ar-Rahman 55:12)
وَالْحَبُّ ذُو ا لْعَصْ فِ وَا ل رَّ يْحَانُ
Fabi'ay yi 'Ālā 'i Ra bbikumā Tukadh dh ibā ni
Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? (Ar-Rahman 55:13)
فَبِأَيِّ آلاَءِ رَ بِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
Kh alaq a A l-'In sā na Min Ş alş ā lin Kālfakh kh ā r i
He created man (Adam) from sounding clay like the clay of pottery. (Ar-Rahman 55:14)
خَ لَقَ ا لإِن سَا نَ مِن ْ صَ لْصَ ا لٍ كَالْفَخَّ ار ِ
Wa Kh alaq a A l-Jā nn a Min Mār ijin Min Nā r in
And the jinns did He create from a smokeless flame of fire. (Ar-Rahman 55:15)
وَخَ لَقَ ا لْجَا نّ َ مِن ْ مَار ِجٍ مِن ْ نَارٍ
Fabi'ay yi 'Ālā 'i Ra bbikumā Tukadh dh ibā ni
Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? (Ar-Rahman 55:16)
فَبِأَيِّ آلاَءِ رَ بِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
Ra bbu A l-Mash r iq ay ni Wa Ra bbu A l-Magh r ibay ni
(He is) the Lord of the two easts (places of sunrise during early summer and early winter) and the Lord of the two wests (places of sunset during early summer and early winter). (Ar-Rahman 55:17)
رَ بُّ ا لْمَشْر ِقَ يْ نِ وَرَ بُّ ا لْمَغْ ر ِبَيْنِ
Fabi'ay yi 'Ālā 'i Ra bbikumā Tukadh dh ibā ni
Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? (Ar-Rahman 55:18)
فَبِأَيِّ آلاَءِ رَ بِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
Mara ja A l-Baĥra y ni Yaltaq iyā ni
He has let loosed the two seas (the salt water and the sweet) meeting together. (Ar-Rahman 55:19)
مَرَ جَ ا لْبَحْرَ يْ نِ يَلْتَقِ يَانِ
Baynahumā Barzakh un Lā Yab gh iyā ni
Between them is a barrier which none of them can transgress. (Ar-Rahman 55:20)
بَيْنَهُمَا بَرْزَخ ٌ لاَ يَبْ غِ يَانِ
Fabi'ay yi 'Ālā 'i Ra bbikumā Tukadh dh ibā ni
Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? (Ar-Rahman 55:21)
فَبِأَيِّ آلاَءِ رَ بِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
Yakh ru ju Minhumā A l-Lu'ulu'uu Wa A l-Marjā nu
Out of them both come out pearl and coral. (Ar-Rahman 55:22)
يَخْ رُجُ مِنْ هُمَا ا ل لُّؤْلُؤُ وَا لْمَرْجَانُ
Fabi'ay yi 'Ālā 'i Ra bbikumā Tukadh dh ibā ni
Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? (Ar-Rahman 55:23)
فَبِأَيِّ آلاَءِ رَ بِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
Wa Lahu A l-Jawā r i A l-Mun sh a'ā tu Fī A l-Baĥr i Kāl'a`lā mi
And His are the ships going and coming in the seas, like mountains. (Ar-Rahman 55:24)
وَلَهُ ا لْجَوَا ر ِ ا لْمُن شَآتُ فِي ا لْبَحْر ِ كَالأَعْلاَمِ
Fabi'ay yi 'Ālā 'i Ra bbikumā Tukadh dh ibā ni
Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? (Ar-Rahman 55:25)
فَبِأَيِّ آلاَءِ رَ بِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
Kullu Man `Alayhā Fā nin
Whatsoever is on it (the earth) will perish. (Ar-Rahman 55:26)
كُلُّ مَن ْ عَلَيْهَا فَانٍ
Wa Yab q á Waj hu Ra bbika Dh ū A l-Jalā li Wa A l-'Ikr ā mi
And the Face of your Lord full of Majesty and Honour will abide forever. (Ar-Rahman 55:27)
وَيَبْ قَ ى وَجْ هُ رَ بِّكَ ذُو ا لْجَلاَلِ وَا لإِكْرَ امِ
Fabi'ay yi 'Ālā 'i Ra bbikumā Tukadh dh ibā ni
Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? (Ar-Rahman 55:28)
فَبِأَيِّ آلاَءِ رَ بِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
Yas'aluhu Man Fī A s-Samāwā ti Wa A l-'Arđi ۚ Kulla Yaw min Huwa Fī Sh a'nin
Whosoever is in the heavens and on earth begs of Him (its needs from Him). Every day He has a matter to bring forth (such as giving honour to some, disgrace to some, life to some, death to some, etc.)! (Ar-Rahman 55:29)
يَسْأَلُهُ مَن ْ فِي ا ل سَّمَاوَا تِ وَا لأَرْضِ ۚ كُلَّ يَوْ مٍ هُوَ فِي شَأْنٍ
Fabi'ay yi 'Ālā 'i Ra bbikumā Tukadh dh ibā ni
Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? (Ar-Rahman 55:30)
فَبِأَيِّ آلاَءِ رَ بِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
Sanafru gh u Lakum 'Ayyuhā A th -Th aq alā ni
We shall attend to you, O you two classes (jinns and men)! (Ar-Rahman 55:31)
سَنَفْرُغُ لَكُمْ أَيُّهَا ا ل ثَّقَ لاَنِ
Fabi'ay yi 'Ālā 'i Ra bbikumā Tukadh dh ibā ni
Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? (Ar-Rahman 55:32)
فَبِأَيِّ آلاَءِ رَ بِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
Yā Ma`sh ara A l-Jinn i Wa A l-'In si 'Ini A staţ a`tum 'An Tan fudh ū Min 'Aq ţ ā r i A s-Samāwā ti Wa A l-'Arđi Fān fudh ū ۚ Lā Tan fudh ū na 'Illā Bisulţ ā nin
O assembly of jinns and men! If you have power to pass beyond the zones of the heavens and the earth, then pass (them)! But you will never be able to pass them, except with authority (from Allāh)! (Ar-Rahman 55:33)
يَامَعْشَرَ ا لْجِنّ ِ وَا لإِن سِ إِنِ ا سْتَطَ عْتُمْ أَن ْ تَن فُذُوا مِن ْ أَقْ طَ ا ر ِ ا ل سَّمَاوَا تِ وَا لأَرْضِ فَان فُذُوا لاَ ۚ تَن فُذُو نَ إِلاَّ بِسُلْطَ انٍ
Fabi'ay yi 'Ālā 'i Ra bbikumā Tukadh dh ibā ni
Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? (Ar-Rahman 55:34)
فَبِأَيِّ آلاَءِ رَ بِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
Yursalu `Alaykumā Sh uwāžun Min Nā r in Wa Nuĥā sun Falā Tan taş ir ā ni
There will be sent against you both, smokeless flames of fire and (molten) brass, and you will not be able to defend yourselves. (Ar-Rahman 55:35)
يُرْسَلُ عَلَيْكُمَا شُوَا ظ ٌ مِن ْ نَا رٍ وَنُحَا سٌ فَلاَ تَن تَصِ رَ انِ
Fabi'ay yi 'Ālā 'i Ra bbikumā Tukadh dh ibā ni
Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? (Ar-Rahman 55:36)
فَبِأَيِّ آلاَءِ رَ بِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
Fa'idh ā A n sh aq q ati A s-Samā 'u Fakānat Wardatan Kālddihā ni
Then when the heaven is rent asunder, and it becomes rosy or red like red-oil, or red hide. (Ar-Rahman 55:37)
فَإِذَا ا ن شَقَّ تِ ا ل سَّمَا ءُ فَكَانَتْ وَرْدَة ً كَال دِّهَانِ
Fabi'ay yi 'Ālā 'i Ra bbikumā Tukadh dh ibā ni
Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? (Ar-Rahman 55:38)
فَبِأَيِّ آلاَءِ رَ بِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
Fayawma'idh in Lā Yus'alu `An Dh an bihi~ 'In sun Wa Lā Jā nn un
So on that Day no question will be asked of man or jinn as to his sin, (because they have already been known from their faces either white or black). (Ar-Rahman 55:39)
فَيَوْمَئِذٍ لاَ يُسْأَلُ عَن ْ ذَنْ بِهِ إِن سٌ وَلاَ جَا نّ ٌ
Fabi'ay yi 'Ālā 'i Ra bbikumā Tukadh dh ibā ni
Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? (Ar-Rahman 55:40)
فَبِأَيِّ آلاَءِ رَ بِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
Yu`ra fu A l-Muj r imū na Bisīmāhum Fayu'ukh adh u Bin -Nawāş ī Wa A l-'Aq dā mi
The Mujrimûn (polytheists, criminals, sinners, etc.) will be known by their marks (black faces), and they will be seized by their forelocks and their feet. (Ar-Rahman 55:41)
يُعْرَ فُ ا لْمُجْ ر ِمُو نَ بِسِيمَاهُمْ فَيُؤْخَ ذُ بِا ل نَّ وَاصِ ي وَا لأَقْ دَامِ
Fabi'ay yi 'Ālā 'i Ra bbikumā Tukadh dh ibā ni
Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? (Ar-Rahman 55:42)
فَبِأَيِّ آلاَءِ رَ بِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
Hadh ihi Jahann amu A llatī Yukadh dh ibu Bihā A l-Muj r imū na
This is Hell which the Mujrimûn (polytheists, criminals, sinners, etc.) denied. (Ar-Rahman 55:43)
هَذِهِ جَهَنَّ مُ ا لَّتِي يُكَذِّبُ بِهَا ا لْمُجْ ر ِمُونَ
Yaţ ūfū na Baynahā Wa Bay na Ĥamī min 'Ā nin
They will go between it (Hell) and the boiling hot water! (Ar-Rahman 55:44)
يَطُ وفُو نَ بَيْنَهَا وَبَيْ نَ حَمِي مٍ آنٍ
Fabi'ay yi 'Ālā 'i Ra bbikumā Tukadh dh ibā ni
Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? (Ar-Rahman 55:45)
فَبِأَيِّ آلاَءِ رَ بِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
Wa Liman Kh ā fa Maq ā ma Ra bbihi Jann atā ni
But for him who [the true believer of Islāmic Monotheism who performs all the duties ordained by Allāh and His Messenger Muhammad SAW , and keeps away (abstain) from all kinds of sin and evil deeds prohibited in Islām and] fears the standing before his Lord, there will be two Gardens (i.e. in Paradise). (Ar-Rahman 55:46)
وَلِمَن ْ خَ ا فَ مَقَ ا مَ رَ بِّهِ جَنَّ تَانِ
Fabi'ay yi 'Ālā 'i Ra bbikumā Tukadh dh ibā ni
Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? (Ar-Rahman 55:47)
فَبِأَيِّ آلاَءِ رَ بِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
Dh awātā 'Afnā nin
With spreading branches; (Ar-Rahman 55:48)
ذَوَاتَا أَفْنَانٍ
Fabi'ay yi 'Ālā 'i Ra bbikumā Tukadh dh ibā ni
Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? (Ar-Rahman 55:49)
فَبِأَيِّ آلاَءِ رَ بِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
Fīhimā `Aynā ni Taj r iyā ni
In them (both) will be two springs flowing (free) (Ar-Rahman 55:50)
فِيهِمَا عَيْنَا نِ تَجْ ر ِيَانِ
Fabi'ay yi 'Ālā 'i Ra bbikumā Tukadh dh ibā ni
Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? (Ar-Rahman 55:51)
فَبِأَيِّ آلاَءِ رَ بِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
Fīhimā Min Kulli Fākihatin Zawjā ni
In them (both) will be every kind of fruit in pairs. (Ar-Rahman 55:52)
فِيهِمَا مِن ْ كُلِّ فَاكِهَةٍ زَوْجَانِ
Fabi'ay yi 'Ālā 'i Ra bbikumā Tukadh dh ibā ni
Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? (Ar-Rahman 55:53)
فَبِأَيِّ آلاَءِ رَ بِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
Muttaki'ī na `Alá Furu sh in Baţ ā 'inuhā Min 'Istab ra q in ۚ Wa Janá A l-Jann atay ni Dā nin
Reclining upon the couches lined with silk brocade, and the fruits of the two Gardens will be near at hand. (Ar-Rahman 55:54)
مُتَّكِئِي نَ عَلَى فُرُش ٍ بَطَ ا ئِنُهَا مِن ْ إِسْتَبْ رَ ق ٍ ۚ وَجَنَى ا لْجَنَّ تَيْ نِ دَانٍ
Fabi'ay yi 'Ālā 'i Ra bbikumā Tukadh dh ibā ni
Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? (Ar-Rahman 55:55)
فَبِأَيِّ آلاَءِ رَ بِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
Fīhinn a Q āş ir ā tu A ţ -Ţ arfi Lam Yaţ mith hunn a 'In sun Q ab lahum Wa Lā Jā nn un
Wherein both will be those (maidens) restraining their glances upon their husbands, whom no man or jinn yatmithhunna (has opened their hymens with sexual intercourse) before them. (Ar-Rahman 55:56)
فِيهِنّ َ قَ اصِ رَ ا تُ ا ل طَّ رْفِ لَمْ يَطْ مِثْهُنّ َ إِنْ سٌ قَ بْ لَهُمْ وَلاَ جَا نّ ٌ
Fabi'ay yi 'Ālā 'i Ra bbikumā Tukadh dh ibā ni
Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? (Ar-Rahman 55:57)
فَبِأَيِّ آلاَءِ رَ بِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
Ka'ann ahunn a A l-Yāq ū tu Wa A l-Marjā nu
(In beauty) they are like rubies and coral. (Ar-Rahman 55:58)
كَأَنَّ هُنّ َ ا لْيَاقُ و تُ وَا لْمَرْجَانُ
Fabi'ay yi 'Ālā 'i Ra bbikumā Tukadh dh ibā ni
Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? (Ar-Rahman 55:59)
فَبِأَيِّ آلاَءِ رَ بِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
Hal Jazā 'u A l-'Iĥsā ni 'Illā A l-'Iĥsā nu
Is there any reward for good other than good? (Ar-Rahman 55:60)
هَلْ جَزَا ءُ ا لإِحْسَا نِ إِلاَّ ا لإِحْسَانُ
Fabi'ay yi 'Ālā 'i Ra bbikumā Tukadh dh ibā ni
Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? (Ar-Rahman 55:61)
فَبِأَيِّ آلاَءِ رَ بِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
Wa Min Dūnihimā Jann atā ni
And besides these two, there are two other Gardens (i.e. in Paradise). (Ar-Rahman 55:62)
وَمِن ْ دُونِهِمَا جَنَّ تَانِ
Fabi'ay yi 'Ālā 'i Ra bbikumā Tukadh dh ibā ni
Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? (Ar-Rahman 55:63)
فَبِأَيِّ آلاَءِ رَ بِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
Mud /hā mm atā ni
Dark green (in colour). (Ar-Rahman 55:64)
مُد ْهَا مَّ تَانِ
Fabi'ay yi 'Ālā 'i Ra bbikumā Tukadh dh ibā ni
Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? (Ar-Rahman 55:65)
فَبِأَيِّ آلاَءِ رَ بِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
Fīhimā `Aynā ni Nađđākh atā ni
In them (both) will be two springs gushing forth water. (Ar-Rahman 55:66)
فِيهِمَا عَيْنَا نِ نَضَّ اخَ تَانِ
Fabi'ay yi 'Ālā 'i Ra bbikumā Tukadh dh ibā ni
Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? (Ar-Rahman 55:67)
فَبِأَيِّ آلاَءِ رَ بِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
Fīhimā Fākihatun Wa Nakh lun Wa Ru mm ā nun
In them (both) will be fruits, and date- palms and pomegranates. (Ar-Rahman 55:68)
فِيهِمَا فَاكِهَةٌ وَنَخْ لٌ وَرُمَّ انٌ
Fabi'ay yi 'Ālā 'i Ra bbikumā Tukadh dh ibā ni
Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? (Ar-Rahman 55:69)
فَبِأَيِّ آلاَءِ رَ بِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
Fīhinn a Kh ayr ā tun Ĥisā nun
Therein (gardens) will be fair (wives) good and beautiful; (Ar-Rahman 55:70)
فِيهِنّ َ خَ يْرَ ا تٌ حِسَانٌ
Fabi'ay yi 'Ālā 'i Ra bbikumā Tukadh dh ibā ni
Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? (Ar-Rahman 55:71)
فَبِأَيِّ آلاَءِ رَ بِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
Ĥū ru n Maq ş ūr ā tun Fī A l-Kh iyā mi
Houris (beautiful, fair females) restrained in pavilions; (Ar-Rahman 55:72)
حُو رٌ مَقْ صُ ورَ ا تٌ فِي ا لْخِ يَامِ
Fabi'ay yi 'Ālā 'i Ra bbikumā Tukadh dh ibā ni
Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? (Ar-Rahman 55:73)
فَبِأَيِّ آلاَءِ رَ بِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
Lam Yaţ mith hunn a 'In sun Q ab lahum Wa Lā Jā nn un
Whom no man or jinn yatmithhunna (has opened their hymens with sexual intercourse) before them. (Ar-Rahman 55:74)
لَمْ يَطْ مِثْهُنّ َ إِن سٌ قَ بْ لَهُمْ وَلاَ جَا نّ ٌ
Fabi'ay yi 'Ālā 'i Ra bbikumā Tukadh dh ibā ni
Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? (Ar-Rahman 55:75)
فَبِأَيِّ آلاَءِ رَ بِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
Muttaki'ī na `Alá Ra fra fin Kh uđr in Wa `Ab q ar ī yin Ĥisā nin
Reclining on green cushions and rich beautiful mattresses. (Ar-Rahman 55:76)
مُتَّكِئِي نَ عَلَى رَ فْرَ فٍ خُ ضْ رٍ وَعَبْ قَ ر ِيٍّ حِسَانٍ
Fabi'ay yi 'Ālā 'i Ra bbikumā Tukadh dh ibā ni
Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? (Ar-Rahman 55:77)
فَبِأَيِّ آلاَءِ رَ بِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
Tabāra ka A smu Ra bbika Dh ī A l-Jalā li Wa A l-'Ikr ā mi
Blessed be the Name of your Lord (Allāh), the Owner of Majesty and Honour. (Ar-Rahman 55:78)
تَبَارَ كَ ا سْمُ رَ بِّكَ ذِي ا لْجَلاَلِ وَا لإِكْرَ امِ
