A q tara bati A s-Sā`atu Wa A n sh aq q a A l-Q amaru
The Hour has drawn near, and the moon has been cleft asunder (the people of Makkah requested Prophet Muhammad SAW to show them a miracle, so he showed them the splitting of the moon). (Al-Qamar 54:1)
ا قْ تَرَ بَتِ ا ل سَّاعَةُ وَا نْ شَقَّ ا لْقَ مَرُ
Wa 'In Yara w 'Āyatan Yu`r iđū Wa Yaq ūlū Siĥru n Mustamir ru n
And if they see a sign, they turn away, and say: "This is continuous magic." (Al-Qamar 54:2)
وَإِن ْ يَرَ وْا آيَة ً يُعْر ِضُ وا وَيَقُ ولُوا سِحْرٌ مُسْتَمِر ٌّ
Wa Kadh dh abū Wa A ttaba`ū 'Ahwā 'ahum ۚ Wa Kullu 'Am r in Mustaq ir ru n
They belied (the Verses of Allāh, this Qur'ān), and followed their own lusts. And every matter will be settled [according to the kind of deeds (for the doer of good deeds, his deeds will take him to Paradise, and similarly evil deeds will take their doers to Hell)]. (Al-Qamar 54:3)
وَكَذَّبُوا وَا تَّبَعُو ا أَهْوَا ءَهُمْ ۚ وَكُلُّ أَمْرٍ مُسْتَقِ ر ٌّ
Wa Laq ad Jā 'ahum Mina A l-'An bā 'i Mā Fī hi Muzdajaru n
And indeed there has come to them news (in this Qur'ān) wherein there is (enough warning) to check (them from evil), (Al-Qamar 54:4)
وَلَقَ د ْ جَا ءَهُمْ مِنَ ا لأَنْ بَا ءِ مَا فِي هِ مُزْدَجَ رٌ
Ĥikmatun Bāligh atun ۖ Famā Tugh ni A n -Nudh uru
Perfect wisdom (this Qur'ān), but (the preaching of) warners benefit them not, (Al-Qamar 54:5)
حِكْمَةٌ بَالِغَ ةٌ ۖ فَمَا تُغْ نِ ا ل نُّ ذُرُ
Fatawalla `Anhum ۘ Yaw ma Yad `u A d-Dā `i 'Ilá Sh ay 'in Nukur in
So (O Muhammad SAW) withdraw from them. The Day that the caller will call (them) to a terrible thing. (Al-Qamar 54:6)
فَتَوَلَّ عَنْ هُمْ ۘ يَوْ مَ يَد ْعُ ا ل دَّا عِ إِلَى شَيْ ءٍ نُكُرٍ
Kh ush sh a`āan 'Ab ş āru hum Yakh ru jū na Mina A l-'Aj dāth i Ka'ann ahum Jar ā dun Mun tash ir un
They will come forth, with humbled eyes from (their) graves as if they were locusts spread abroad, (Al-Qamar 54:7)
خُ شَّعاً أَبْ صَ ارُهُمْ يَخْ رُجُو نَ مِنَ ا لأَجْ دَا ثِ كَأَنَّ هُمْ جَرَ ا دٌ مُن تَشِرٌ
Muhţ i`ī na 'Ilá A d-Dā `i ۖ Yaq ū lu A l-Kāfirū na Hādh ā Yaw mun `Asir un
Hastening towards the caller, the disbelievers will say: "This is a hard Day." (Al-Qamar 54:8)
مُهْطِ عِي نَ إِلَى ا ل دَّا عِ ۖ يَقُ و لُ ا لْكَافِرُو نَ هَذَا يَوْ مٌ عَسِرٌ
Kadh dh abat Q ab lahum Q aw mu Nūĥin Fakadh dh abū `Ab danā Wa Q ālū Maj nū nun Wa A zdujir a
The people of Nûh (Noah) denied (their Messenger) before them, they rejected Our slave, and said: "A madman!" and he was insolently rebuked and threatened. (Al-Qamar 54:9)
كَذَّبَتْ قَ بْ لَهُمْ قَ وْ مُ نُو حٍ فَكَذَّبُوا عَبْ دَنَا وَقَ الُوا مَجْ نُو نٌ وَا زْدُجِ رَ
Fada`ā Ra bbahu~ 'Ann ī Magh lū bun Fān taş ir
Then he invoked his Lord (saying): "I have been overcome, so help (me)!" (Al-Qamar 54:10)
فَدَعَا رَ بَّهُ~ ُ أَنِّ ي مَغْ لُو بٌ فَانْ تَصِ ر ْ
Fafataĥnā 'Ab wā ba A s-Samā 'i Bimā 'in Munhamir in
So We opened the gates of heaven with water pouring forth. (Al-Qamar 54:11)
فَفَتَحْنَا أَبْ وَا بَ ا ل سَّمَا ءِ بِمَا ءٍ مُنْ هَمِر ٍ
Wa Fajjarnā A l-'Arđa `Uyūnāan Fāltaq á A l-Mā 'u `Alá 'Am r in Q ad Q udira
And We caused the earth to gush forth with springs. So the waters (of the heaven and the earth) met for a matter predestined. (Al-Qamar 54:12)
وَفَجَّرْنَا ا لأَرْضَ عُيُونا ً فَالْتَقَ ى ا لْمَا ءُ عَلَى أَمْرٍ قَ د ْ قُ د ِرَ
Wa Ĥamalnā hu `Alá Dh ā ti 'Alwāĥin Wa Dusur in
And We carried him on a (ship) made of planks and nails, (Al-Qamar 54:13)
وَحَمَلْنَا هُ عَلَى ذَا تِ أَلْوَا حٍ وَدُسُرٍ
Taj r ī Bi'a`yuninā Jazā 'an Liman Kā na Kufir a
Floating under Our Eyes, a reward for him who had been rejected! (Al-Qamar 54:14)
تَجْ ر ِي بِأَعْيُنِنَا جَزَا ء ً لِمَن ْ كَا نَ كُفِرَ
Wa Laq ad Tara knāhā 'Āyatan Fahal Min Muddakir in
And indeed, We have left this as a sign, then is there any that will remember (or receive admonition)? (Al-Qamar 54:15)
وَلَقَ د ْ تَرَ كْنَاهَا آيَة ً فَهَلْ مِن ْ مُدَّكِر ٍ
Fakay fa Kā na `Adh ābī Wa Nudh ur i
Then how (terrible) was My Torment and My Warnings? (Al-Qamar 54:16)
فَكَيْ فَ كَا نَ عَذَابِي وَنُذُر ِ
Wa Laq ad Yassarnā A l-Q ur'ā na Lildh dh ikr i Fahal Min Muddakir in
And We have indeed made the Qur'ān easy to understand and remember, then is there any that will remember (or receive admonition)? (Al-Qamar 54:17)
وَلَقَ د ْ يَسَّرْنَا ا لْقُ رْآنَ لِلذِّكْر ِ فَهَلْ مِن ْ مُدَّكِر ٍ
Kadh dh abat `Ā dun Fakay fa Kā na `Adh ābī Wa Nudh ur i
'Ad (people) belied (their Prophet, Hûd), then how (terrible) was My Torment and My Warnings? (Al-Qamar 54:18)
كَذَّبَتْ عَا دٌ فَكَيْ فَ كَا نَ عَذَابِي وَنُذُر ِ
'Inn ā 'Arsalnā `Alayhim R īĥāan Ş arş arā an Fī Yaw mi Naĥsin Mustamir r in
Verily, We sent against them a furious wind of harsh voice on a day of evil omen and continuous calamity. (Al-Qamar 54:19)
إِنَّ ا أَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ ر ِيحا ً صَ رْصَ را ً فِي يَوْ مِ نَحْسٍ مُسْتَمِر ٍّ
Tan zi`u A n -Nā sa Ka'ann ahum 'A`jā zu Nakh lin Mun q a`ir in
Plucking out men as if they were uprooted stems of date-palms. (Al-Qamar 54:20)
تَن زِعُ ا ل نّ َا سَ كَأَنَّ هُمْ أَعْجَا زُ نَخْ لٍ مُنْ قَ عِر ٍ
Fakay fa Kā na `Adh ābī Wa Nudh ur i
Then, how (terrible) was My Torment and My Warnings? (Al-Qamar 54:21)
فَكَيْ فَ كَا نَ عَذَابِي وَنُذُر ِ
Wa Laq ad Yassarnā A l-Q ur'ā na Lildh dh ikr i Fahal Min Muddakir in
And We have indeed made the Qur'ān easy to understand and remember, then is there any that will remember (or receive admonition)? (Al-Qamar 54:22)
وَلَقَ د ْ يَسَّرْنَا ا لْقُ رْآنَ لِلذِّكْر ِ فَهَلْ مِن ْ مُدَّكِر ٍ
Kadh dh abat Th amū du Bin -Nudh ur i
Thamûd (people also) belied the warnings. (Al-Qamar 54:23)
كَذَّبَتْ ثَمُو دُ بِا ل نُّ ذُر ِ
Faq ālū 'Abash arā an Minn ā Wāĥidāan Nattabi`uhu~ 'Inn ā 'Idh āan Lafī Đ alā lin Wa Su`ur in
For they said: "A man! Alone from among us, that we are to follow? Truly, then we should be in error and distress or madness!" (Al-Qamar 54:24)
فَقَ الُو ا أَبَشَرا ً مِنَّ ا وَاحِدا ً نَتَّبِعُهُ~ ُ إِنَّ ا إِذا ً لَفِي ضَ لاَلٍ وَسُعُرٍ
'A'uulq iya A dh -Dh ikru `Alay hi Min Bayninā Bal Huwa Kadh dh ā bun 'Ash ir un
"Is it that the Reminder is sent to him [Prophet Sālih (Saleh)] alone from among us? Nay, he is an insolent liar!" (Al-Qamar 54:25)
أَؤُلْقِ يَ ا ل ذِّكْرُ عَلَيْ هِ مِن ْ بَيْنِنَا بَلْ هُوَ كَذَّا بٌ أَشِرٌ
Saya`lamū na Gh adāan Mani A l-Kadh dh ā bu A l-'Ash ir u
Tomorrow they will come to know, who is the liar, the insolent one! (Al-Qamar 54:26)
سَيَعْلَمُو نَ غَ دا ً مَنِ ا لْكَذَّا بُ ا لأَشِرُ
'Inn ā Mursilū A n -Nāq ati Fitnatan Lahum Fārtaq ib hum Wa A ş ţ ab ir
Verily, We are sending the she-camel as a test for them. So watch them [O Sālih (Saleh)], and be patient! (Al-Qamar 54:27)
إِنَّ ا مُرْسِلُو ا ل نَّ اقَ ةِ فِتْنَة ً لَهُمْ فَارْتَقِ بْ هُمْ وَا صْ طَ بِ ر ْ
Wa Nabbi'hum 'Ann a A l-Mā 'a Q ismatun Baynahum ۖ Kullu Sh ir bin Muĥtađaru n
And inform them that the water is to be shared between (her and) them. Each one's right to drink being established (by turns). (Al-Qamar 54:28)
وَنَبِّئْهُمْ أَنّ َ ا لْمَا ءَ قِ سْمَةٌ بَيْنَهُمْ ۖ كُلُّ شِر ْبٍ مُحْتَضَ رٌ
Fanādaw Ş āĥibahum Fata`āţ á Fa`aq ara
But they called their comrade and he took (a sword) and killed (her). (Al-Qamar 54:29)
فَنَادَوْا صَ احِبَهُمْ فَتَعَاطَ ى فَعَق َ رَ
Fakay fa Kā na `Adh ābī Wa Nudh ur i
Then, how (terrible) was My Torment and My Warnings? (Al-Qamar 54:30)
فَكَيْ فَ كَا نَ عَذَابِي وَنُذُر ِ
'Inn ā 'Arsalnā `Alayhim Ş ayĥatan Wāĥidatan Fakānū Kahash ī mi A l-Muĥtažir i
Verily, We sent against them a single Saīhah (torment - awful cry, etc.), and they became like the dry stubble of a fold-builder. (Al-Qamar 54:31)
إِنَّ ا أَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ صَ يْحَة ً وَاحِدَة ً فَكَانُوا كَهَشِي مِ ا لْمُحْتَظِ ر ِ
Wa Laq ad Yassarnā A l-Q ur'ā na Lildh dh ikr i Fahal Min Muddakir in
And indeed, We have made the Qur'ān easy to understand and remember, then is there any that will remember (or receive admonition)? (Al-Qamar 54:32)
وَلَقَ د ْ يَسَّرْنَا ا لْقُ رْآنَ لِلذِّكْر ِ فَهَلْ مِن ْ مُدَّكِر ٍ
Kadh dh abat Q aw mu Lūţ in Bin -Nudh ur i
The people of Lout (Lot) belied the warnings. (Al-Qamar 54:33)
كَذَّبَتْ قَ وْ مُ لُو ط ٍ بِا ل نُّ ذُر ِ
'Inn ā 'Arsalnā `Alayhim Ĥāş ibāan 'Illā 'Ā la Lūţ in ۖ Najjaynāhum Bisaĥar in
Verily, We sent against them a violent storm of stones (which destroyed them all), except the family of Lout (Lot), whom We saved in last hour of the night, (Al-Qamar 54:34)
إِنَّ ا أَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ حَاصِ با ً إِلاَّ آلَ لُو ط ٍ ۖ نَجَّيْنَاهُمْ بِسَحَرٍ
Ni`matan Min `In dinā ۚ Kadh ālika Naj zī Man Sh akara
As a Favour from Us, thus do We reward him who gives thanks (by obeying Us). (Al-Qamar 54:35)
نِعْمَة ً مِن ْ عِنْ دِنَا ۚ كَذَلِكَ نَجْ زِي مَن ْ شَكَرَ
Wa Laq ad 'An dh ara hum Baţ sh atanā Fatamāra w Bin -Nudh ur i
And he [Lout (Lot)] indeed had warned them of Our Grasp, but they did doubt the warnings! (Al-Qamar 54:36)
وَلَقَ د ْ أَن ذَرَ هُمْ بَطْ شَتَنَا فَتَمَارَ وْا بِا ل نُّ ذُر ِ
Wa Laq ad Rā wadū hu `An Đ ayfihi Faţ amasnā 'A`yunahum Fadh ūq ū `Adh ābī Wa Nudh ur i
And they indeed sought to shame his guest (by asking to commit sodomy with them). So We blinded their eyes, "Then taste you My Torment and My Warnings." (Al-Qamar 54:37)
وَلَقَ د ْ رَ اوَدُو هُ عَن ْ ضَ يْفِهِ فَطَ مَسْنَا أَعْيُنَهُمْ فَذُوقُ وا عَذَابِي وَنُذُر ِ
Wa Laq ad Ş abbaĥahum Bukra tan `Adh ā bun Mustaq ir ru n
And verily, an abiding torment seized them early in the morning. (Al-Qamar 54:38)
وَلَقَ د ْ صَ بَّحَهُمْ بُكْرَ ةً عَذَا بٌ مُسْتَقِ ر ٌّ
Fadh ūq ū `Adh ābī Wa Nudh ur i
"Then taste you My Torment and My Warnings." (Al-Qamar 54:39)
فَذُوقُ وا عَذَابِي وَنُذُر ِ
Wa Laq ad Yassarnā A l-Q ur'ā na Lildh dh ikr i Fahal Min Muddakir in
And indeed, We have made the Qur'ān easy to understand and remember, then is there any that will remember (or receive admonition)? (Al-Qamar 54:40)
وَلَقَ د ْ يَسَّرْنَا ا لْقُ رْآنَ لِلذِّكْر ِ فَهَلْ مِن ْ مُدَّكِر ٍ
Wa Laq ad Jā 'a 'Ā la Fir `aw na A n -Nudh uru
And indeed, warnings came to the people of Fir'aun (Pharaoh) [through Mûsa (Moses) and Hārûn (Aaron)]. (Al-Qamar 54:41)
وَلَقَ د ْ جَا ءَ آلَ فِر ْعَوْ نَ ا ل نُّ ذُرُ
Kadh dh abū Bi'āyātinā Kullihā Fa'akh adh nāhum 'Akh dh a `Azī zin Muq tadir in
(They) belied all Our Signs, so We seized them with a Seizure of the All-Mighty, All-Capable to carry out what he Will (Omnipotent). (Al-Qamar 54:42)
كَذَّبُوا بِآيَاتِنَا كُلِّهَا فَأَخَ ذْنَاهُمْ أَخْ ذَ عَزِي زٍ مُقْ تَد ِر ٍ
'Akuffāru kum Kh ay ru n Min 'Ūla'ikum 'Am Lakum Barā 'atun Fī A z-Zubur i
Are your disbelievers (O Quraish!) better than these [nations of Nûh (Noah), Lout (Lot), Sālih (Saleh), and the people of Fir'aun (Pharaoh), etc., who were destroyed)? Or have you an immunity (against Our Torment) in the Divine Scriptures? (Al-Qamar 54:43)
أَكُفَّارُكُمْ خَ يْ رٌ مِن ْ أُ وْلَئِكُمْ أَمْ لَكُمْ بَرَا ءَةٌ فِي ا ل زُّبُ ر ِ
'Am Yaq ūlū na Naĥnu Jamī `un Mun taş iru n
Or do they say: "We are a great multitude, and we shall be victorious.?" (Al-Qamar 54:44)
أَمْ يَقُ ولُو نَ نَحْنُ جَمِي عٌ مُنْ تَصِ رٌ
Sayuhzamu A l-Jam `u Wa Yuwallū na A d-Dubura
Their multitude will be put to flight, and they will show their backs. (Al-Qamar 54:45)
سَيُهْزَمُ ا لْجَمْعُ وَيُوَلُّو نَ ا ل دُّبُ رَ
Bali A s-Sā`atu Maw`iduhum Wa A s-Sā`atu 'Ad /há Wa 'Amarru
Nay, but the Hour is their appointed time (for their full recompense), and the Hour will be more grievous and more bitter. (Al-Qamar 54:46)
بَلِ ا ل سَّاعَةُ مَوْعِدُهُمْ وَا ل سَّاعَةُ أَد ْهَى وَأَمَرُّ
'Inn a A l-Muj r imī na Fī Đ alā lin Wa Su`ur in
Verily, the Mujrimûn (polytheists, disbelievers, sinners, criminals, etc.) are in error (in this world) and will burn (in the Hell-fire in the Hereafter). (Al-Qamar 54:47)
إِنّ َ ا لْمُجْ ر ِمِي نَ فِي ضَ لاَلٍ وَسُعُرٍ
Yaw ma Yusĥabū na Fī A n -Nā r i `Alá Wujūhihim Dh ūq ū Massa Saq ara
The Day they will be dragged in the Fire on their faces (it will be said to them): "Taste you the touch of Hell!" (Al-Qamar 54:48)
يَوْ مَ يُسْحَبُو نَ فِي ا ل نّ َا ر ِ عَلَى وُجُوهِهِمْ ذُوقُ وا مَسَّ سَق َ رَ
'Inn ā Kulla Sh ay 'in Kh alaq nā hu Biq adar in
Verily, We have created all things with Qadar (Divine Preordainments of all things before their creation, as written in the Book of Decrees Al-Lauh Al-Mahfûz). (Al-Qamar 54:49)
إِنَّ ا كُلَّ شَيْ ءٍ خَ لَقْ نَا هُ بِقَ د َرٍ
Wa Mā 'Am ru nā 'Illā Wāĥidatun Kalam ĥin Bil-Baş ar i
And Our Commandment is but one, as the twinkling of an eye. (Al-Qamar 54:50)
وَمَا أَمْرُنَا إِلاَّ وَاحِدَةٌ كَلَمْح ٍ بِا لْبَصَ ر ِ
Wa Laq ad 'Ahlaknā 'Ash yā`akum Fahal Min Muddakir in
And indeed, We have destroyed your likes, then is there any that will remember (or receive admonition)? (Al-Qamar 54:51)
وَلَقَ د ْ أَهْلَكْنَا أَشْيَاعَكُمْ فَهَلْ مِن ْ مُدَّكِر ٍ
Wa Kullu Sh ay 'in Fa`alū hu Fī A z-Zubur i
And each and everything they have done is noted in (their) Records (of deeds). (Al-Qamar 54:52)
وَكُلُّ شَيْ ءٍ فَعَلُو هُ فِي ا ل زُّبُ ر ِ
Wa Kullu Ş agh ī r in Wa Kabī r in Mustaţ aru n
And everything, small and big is written (in Al-Lauh Al-Mahfûz already beforehand i.e. before it befalls, or is done by its doer) (See the Qur'ān V.57:22). (Al-Qamar 54:53)
وَكُلُّ صَ غِ ي ر ٍ وَكَبِي ر ٍ مُسْتَط َ رٌ
'Inn a A l-Muttaq ī na Fī Jann ā tin Wa Nahar in
Verily, The Muttaqûn (pious), will be in the midst of Gardens and Rivers (Paradise). (Al-Qamar 54:54)
إِنّ َ ا لْمُتَّقِ ي نَ فِي جَنّ َا تٍ وَنَهَرٍ
Fī Maq `adi Ş id q in `In da Malī kin Muq tadir in
In a seat of truth (i.e. Paradise), near the Omnipotent King (Allāh, the All-Blessed, the Most High, the Owner of Majesty and Honour). (Al-Qamar 54:55)
فِي مَقْ عَدِ صِ د ْقٍ عِنْ دَ مَلِي كٍ مُقْ تَد ِر ٍ
