Q ad 'Aflaĥa A l-Mu'uminū na (Al-Mu'uminūn : 1).
023.001 The believers must (eventually) win through,-
قَ دْ أَفْلَحَ ا لْمُؤْمِنُونَ
Al-Ladh ī na Hum Fī Ş alātihim Kh āsh i`ū na (Al-Mu'uminūn : 2).
023.002 Those who humble themselves in their prayers;
ا لَّذِي نَ هُمْ فِي صَ لاَتِهِمْ خَ اشِعُونَ
Wa A l-Ladh ī na Hum `Ani A l-Lagh wi Mu`r iđū na (Al-Mu'uminūn : 3).
023.003 Who avoid vain talk;
وَالَّذِي نَ هُمْ عَنِ ا ل لَّغْ وِ مُعْرِ ضُ ونَ
Wa A l-Ladh ī na Hum Lilzzakāati Fā`ilū na (Al-Mu'uminūn : 4).
023.004 Who are active in deeds of charity;
وَالَّذِي نَ هُمْ لِلزَّكَا ةِ فَاعِلُونَ
Wa A l-Ladh ī na Hum Lifurūjihim Ĥāfižū na (Al-Mu'uminūn : 5).
023.005 Who abstain from sex,
وَالَّذِي نَ هُمْ لِفُرُوجِهِمْ حَافِظُ ونَ
'Illā `Alá 'Azwājihim 'W Mā Malakat 'Aymānuhum Fa'inn ahum Gh ay ru Malūmī na (Al-Mu'uminūn : 6).
023.006 Except with those joined to them in the marriage bond, or (the captives) whom their right hands possess,- for (in their case) they are free from blame,
إِلاَّ عَلَى أَزْوَاجِهِمْ أو ْ مَا مَلَكَتْ أَيْمَانُهُمْ فَإِنَّ هُمْ غَ يْ رُ مَلُومِينَ
Famani A b tagh á Warā 'a Dh ālika Fa'ūlā 'ika Humu A l-`Ādū na (Al-Mu'uminūn : 7).
023.007 But those whose desires exceed those limits are transgressors;-
فَمَنِ ا بْ تَغَ ى وَرَا ءَ ذَلِكَ فَأُ وْلَا ئِكَ هُمُ ا لْعَادُونَ
Wa A l-Ladh ī na Hum Li'mānātihim Wa `Ahdihim Rā `ū na (Al-Mu'uminūn : 8).
023.008 Those who faithfully observe their trusts and their covenants;
وَالَّذِي نَ هُمْ لِأمَانَاتِهِمْ وَعَهْدِهِمْ رَ اعُونَ
Wa A l-Ladh ī na Hum `Alá Ş alawātihim Yuĥāfižū na (Al-Mu'uminūn : 9).
023.009 And who (strictly) guard their prayers;-
وَالَّذِي نَ هُمْ عَلَى صَ لَوَاتِهِمْ يُحَافِظُ ونَ
'Ūlā 'ika Humu A l-Wār ith ū na (Al-Mu'uminūn : 10).
023.010 These will be the heirs,
أُ وْلَا ئِكَ هُمُ ا لْوَارِ ثُونَ
Al-Ladh ī na Yar ith ū na A l-Fir daw sa Hum Fīhā Kh ālidū na (Al-Mu'uminūn : 11).
023.011 Who will inherit Paradise: they will dwell therein (for ever).
ا لَّذِي نَ يَرِ ثُو نَ ا لْفِر ْدَوْ سَ هُمْ فِيهَا خَ الِدُونَ
Wa Laq ad Kh alaq nā A l-'In sā na Min Sulālatin Min Ţ ī nin (Al-Mu'uminūn : 12).
023.012 Man We did create from a quintessence (of clay);
وَلَقَ دْ خَ لَقْ نَا ا لإِن سَا نَ مِن ْ سُلاَلَةٍ مِن ْ طِ ينٍ
Th umm a Ja`alnā hu Nuţ fatan Fī Q ar ā r in Makī nin (Al-Mu'uminūn : 13).
023.013 Then We placed him as (a drop of) sperm in a place of rest, firmly fixed;
ثُمّ َ جَعَلْنَا هُ نُطْ فَةً فِي قَ رَ ا رٍ مَكِينٍ
Th umm a Kh alaq nā A n -Nuţ fata `Alaq atan Fakh alaq nā A l-`Alaq ata Muđgh atan Fakh alaq nā A l-Muđgh ata `Ižāmāan Fakasawnā A l-`Ižā ma Laĥmāan Th umm a 'An sh a'nā hu Kh alq āan 'Ākh ara ۚ Fatabāra ka A ll āhu 'Aĥsanu A l-Kh āliq ī na (Al-Mu'uminūn : 14).
023.014 Then We made the sperm into a clot of congealed blood; then of that clot We made a (foetus) lump; then we made out of that lump bones and clothed the bones with flesh; then we developed out of it another creature. So blessed be God, the best to create!
ثُمّ َ خَ لَقْ نَا ا ل نُّ طْ فَةَ عَلَقَ ةً فَخَ لَقْ نَا ا لْعَلَقَ ةَ مُضْ غَ ةً فَخَ لَقْ نَا ا لْمُضْ غَ ةَ عِظَ اماً فَكَسَوْنَا ا لْعِظَ ا مَ لَحْماً ثُمّ َ أَن شَأْنَا هُ خَ لْق اً آخَ رَ ۚ فَتَبَارَ كَ ا للَّ هُ أَحْسَنُ ا لْخَ الِقِ ينَ
Th umm a 'Inn akum Ba`da Dh ālika Lamayyitū na (Al-Mu'uminūn : 15).
023.015 After that, at length ye will die
ثُمّ َ إِنَّ كُمْ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ لَمَيِّتُونَ
Th umm a 'Inn akum Yaw ma A l-Q iyāmati Tub `ath ū na (Al-Mu'uminūn : 16).
023.016 Again, on the Day of Judgment, will ye be raised up.
ثُمّ َ إِنَّ كُمْ يَوْ مَ ا لْقِ يَامَةِ تُبْ عَثُونَ
Wa Laq ad Kh alaq nā Fawq akum Sab `a Ţ arā 'iq a Wa Mā Kunn ā `Ani A l-Kh alq i Gh āfilī na (Al-Mu'uminūn : 17).
023.017 And We have made, above you, seven tracts; and We are never unmindful of (our) Creation.
وَلَقَ دْ خَ لَقْ نَا فَوْقَ كُمْ سَبْ عَ طَ رَا ئِقَ وَمَا كُنَّ ا عَنِ ا لْخَ لْقِ غَ افِلِينَ
Wa 'An zalnā Mina A s-Samā 'i Mā 'an Biq adar in Fa'askann ā hu Fī A l-'Arđi ۖ Wa 'Inn ā `Alá Dh ahā bin Bihi Laq ādirū na (Al-Mu'uminūn : 18).
023.018 And We send down water from the sky according to (due) measure, and We cause it to soak in the soil; and We certainly are able to drain it off (with ease).
وَأَن زَلْنَا مِنَ ا ل سَّمَا ءِ مَا ءً بِقَ دَرٍ فَأَسْكَنّ َا هُ فِي ا لأَرْضِ ۖ وَإِنَّ ا عَلَى ذَهَا بٍ بِهِ لَقَ ادِرُونَ
Fa'an sh a'nā Lakum Bihi Jann ā tin Min Nakh ī lin Wa 'A`nā bin Lakum Fīhā Fawākihu Kath īra tun Wa Minhā Ta'kulū na (Al-Mu'uminūn : 19).
023.019 With it We grow for you gardens of date-palms and vines: in them have ye abundant fruits: and of them ye eat (and have enjoyment),-
فَأَن شَأْنَا لَكُمْ بِهِ جَنّ َا تٍ مِن ْ نَخِ ي لٍ وَأَعْنَا بٍ لَكُمْ فِيهَا فَوَاكِهُ كَثِيرَ ةٌ وَمِنْ هَا تَأْكُلُونَ
Wa Sh ajara tan Takh ru ju Min Ţ ū r i Saynā 'a Tan butu Bid-Duhni Wa Ş ib gh in Lil'ā kilī na (Al-Mu'uminūn : 20).
023.020 Also a tree springing out of Mount Sinai, which produces oil, and relish for those who use it for food.
وَشَجَرَ ةً تَخْ رُجُ مِن ْ طُ و رِ سَيْنَا ءَ تَنْ بُتُ بِا ل دُّهْنِ وَصِ بْ غ ٍ لِلآكِلِينَ
Wa 'Inn a Lakum Fī A l-'An`ā mi La`ib ra tan ۖ Nusq īkum Mimm ā Fī Buţ ūnihā Wa Lakum Fīhā Manāfi`u Kath īra tun Wa Minhā Ta'kulū na (Al-Mu'uminūn : 21).
023.021 And in cattle (too) ye have an instructive example: from within their bodies We produce (milk) for you to drink; there are, in them, (besides), numerous (other) benefits for you; and of their (meat) ye eat;
وَإِنّ َ لَكُمْ فِي ا لأَنعَا مِ لَعِبْ رَ ةً ۖ نُسقِ يكُمْ مِمَّ ا فِي بُطُ ونِهَا وَلَكُمْ فِيهَا مَنَافِعُ كَثِيرَ ةٌ وَمِنْ هَا تَأْكُلُونَ
Wa `Alayhā Wa `Alá A l-Fulki Tuĥmalū na (Al-Mu'uminūn : 22).
023.022 An on them, as well as in slips, ye side.
وَعَلَيْهَا وَعَلَى ا لْفُلْكِ تُحْمَلُونَ
Wa Laq ad 'Arsalnā Nūĥāan 'Ilá Q awmihi Faq ā la Yā Q aw mi A `budū A ll aha Mā Lakum Min 'Ilahin Gh ayru hu ۖ 'Afalā Tattaq ū na (Al-Mu'uminūn : 23).
023.023 (Further, We sent a long line of prophets for your instruction). We sent Noah to his people: He said, "O my people! worship God! Ye have no other god but Him. Will ye not fear (Him)?"
وَلَقَ دْ أَرْسَلْنَا نُوحاً إِلَى قَ وْمِهِ فَقَ ا لَ يَاقَ وْ مِ ا عْبُدُوا ا للَّ هَ مَا لَكُمْ مِن ْ إِلَهٍ غَ يْرُهُ أَفَلاَ ۖ تَتَّقُ ونَ
Faq ā la A l-Mala'u A l-Ladh ī na Kafarū Min Q awmihi Mā Hādh ā 'Illā Bash aru n Mith lukum Yur ī du 'An Yatafađđala `Alaykum Wa Law Sh ā 'a A ll āhu La'an zala Malā 'ikatan Mā Sami`nā Bihadh ā Fī 'Ābā 'inā A l-'Awwalī na (Al-Mu'uminūn : 24).
023.024 The chiefs of the Unbelievers among his people said: "He is no more than a man like yourselves: his wish is to assert his superiority over you: if God had wished (to send messengers), He could have sent down angels; never did we hear such a thing (as he says), among our ancestors of old."
فَقَ ا لَ ا لْمَلَأُ ا لَّذِي نَ كَفَرُوا مِن ْ قَ وْمِهِ مَا هَذَا إِلاَّ بَشَرٌ مِثْلُكُمْ يُر ِي دُ أَن ْ يَتَفَضَّ لَ عَلَيْكُمْ وَلَوْ شَا ءَ ا للَّ هُ لَأَن زَلَ مَلاَئِكَةً مَا سَمِعْنَا بِهَذَا فِي آبَا ئِنَا ا لأَوَّلِينَ
'In Huwa 'I llā Ra julun Bihi Jinn atun Fatara bbaş ū Bihi Ĥattá Ĥī nin (Al-Mu'uminūn : 25).
023.025 (And some said): "He is only a man possessed: wait (and have patience) with him for a time."
إِن ْ هُوَ إِلاَّ رَ جُلٌ بِهِ جِنَّ ةٌ فَتَرَ بَّصُ وا بِهِ حَتَّى حِينٍ
Q ā la Ra bbi A n ş urnī Bimā Kadh dh abū ni (Al-Mu'uminūn : 26).
023.026 (Noah) said: "O my Lord! help me: for that they accuse me of falsehood!"
قَ ا لَ رَ بِّ ا ن صُ رْنِي بِمَا كَذَّبُونِ
Fa'awĥaynā 'Ilay hi 'Ani A ş na`i A l-Fulka Bi'a`yuninā Wa Waĥyinā Fa'idh ā Jā 'a 'Am ru nā Wa Fā ra A t-Tann ū ru ۙ Fāsluk Fīhā Min Kullin Zawjay ni A th nay ni Wa 'Ahlaka 'Illā Man Sabaq a `Alay hi A l-Q aw lu Minhum ۖ Wa Lā Tukh āţ ib nī Fī A l-Ladh ī na Ž alamū ۖ 'Inn ahum Mugh ra q ū na (Al-Mu'uminūn : 27).
023.027 So We inspired him (with this message): "Construct the Ark within Our sight and under Our guidance: then when comes Our Command, and the fountains of the earth gush forth, take thou on board pairs of every species, male and female, and thy family- except those of them against whom the Word has already gone forth: And address Me not in favour of the wrong-doers; for they shall be drowned (in the Flood).
فَأَوْحَيْنَا إِلَيْ هِ أَنِ ا صْ نَعِ ا لْفُلْكَ بِأَعْيُنِنَا وَوَحْيِنَا فَإِذَا جَا ءَ أَمْرُنَا وَفَا رَ ا ل تَّنّ ُو رُ ۙ فَاسْلُكْ فِيهَا مِن ْ كُلٍّ زَوْجَيْ نِ ا ثْنَيْ نِ وَأَهْلَكَ إِلاَّ مَن ْ سَبَقَ عَلَيْ هِ ا لْقَ وْ لُ مِنْ هُمْ ۖ وَلاَ تُخَ اطِ بْ نِي فِي ا لَّذِي نَ ظَ لَمُو ا ۖ إِنَّ هُمْ مُغْ رَ قُ ونَ
Fa'idh ā A stawayta 'An ta Wa Man Ma`aka `Alá A l-Fulki Faq uli A l-Ĥam du Lill ā h A l-Ladh ī Najjānā Mina A l-Q aw mi A ž-Ž ālimī na (Al-Mu'uminūn : 28).
023.028 And when thou hast embarked on the Ark - thou and those with thee,- say: "Praise be to God, Who has saved us from the people who do wrong."
فَإِذَا ا سْتَوَيْ تَ أَنْ تَ وَمَن ْ مَعَكَ عَلَى ا لْفُلْكِ فَقُ لِ ا لْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ا لَّذِي نَجَّانَا مِنَ ا لْقَ وْ مِ ا ل ظَّ الِمِينَ
Wa Q ul Ra bbi 'An zilnī Mun zalāan Mubāra kāan Wa 'An ta Kh ay ru A l-Mun zilī na (Al-Mu'uminūn : 29).
023.029 And say: "O my Lord! enable me to disembark with thy blessing: for Thou art the Best to enable (us) to disembark."
وَقُ لْ رَ بِّ أَن زِلْنِي مُنْ زَلاً مُبَارَ كاً وَأَنْ تَ خَ يْ رُ ا لْمُن زِلِينَ
'Inn a Fī Dh ālika La'ā yā tin Wa 'In Kunn ā Lamub talī na (Al-Mu'uminūn : 30).
023.030 Verily in this there are Signs (for men to understand); (thus) do We try (men).
إِنّ َ فِي ذَلِكَ لَآيَا تٍ وَإِن ْ كُنَّ ا لَمُبْ تَلِينَ
Th umm a 'An sh a'nā Min Ba`dihim Q arnāan 'Ākh ar ī na (Al-Mu'uminūn : 31).
023.031 Then We raised after them another generation.
ثُمّ َ أَن شَأْنَا مِن ْ بَعْدِهِمْ قَ رْناً آخَ رِ ينَ
Fa'arsalnā Fīhim Ra sūlāan Minhum 'Ani A `budū A ll aha Mā Lakum Min 'Ilahin Gh ayru hu ۖ 'Afalā Tattaq ū na (Al-Mu'uminūn : 32).
023.032 And We sent to them an apostle from among themselves, (saying), "Worship God! ye have no other god but Him. Will ye not fear (Him)?"
فَأَرْسَلْنَا فِيهِمْ رَ سُولاً مِنْ هُمْ أَنِ ا عْبُدُوا ا للَّ هَ مَا لَكُمْ مِن ْ إِلَهٍ غَ يْرُهُ ۖ أَفَلاَ تَتَّقُ ونَ
Wa Q ā la A l-Mala'u Min Q awmihi A l-Ladh ī na Kafarū Wa Kadh dh abū Biliq ā 'i A l-'Ākh ira ti Wa 'Atra fnāhum Fī A l-Ĥayāati A d-Dun yā Mā Hādh ā 'Illā Bash aru n Mith lukum Ya'kulu Mimm ā Ta'kulū na Minhu Wa Yash ra bu Mimm ā Tash ra bū na (Al-Mu'uminūn : 33).
023.033 And the chiefs of his people, who disbelieved and denied the Meeting in the Hereafter, and on whom We had bestowed the good things of this life, said: "He is no more than a man like yourselves: he eats of that of which ye eat, and drinks of what ye drink.
وَقَ ا لَ ا لْمَلَأُ مِن ْ قَ وْمِهِ ا لَّذِي نَ كَفَرُوا وَكَذَّبُوا بِلِقَ ا ءِ ا لآخِ رَ ةِ وَأَتْرَ فْنَاهُمْ فِي ا لْحَيَا ةِ ا ل دُّنْ يَا مَا هَذَا إِلاَّ بَشَرٌ مِثْلُكُمْ يَأْكُلُ مِمَّ ا تَأْكُلُو نَ مِنْ هُ وَيَشْرَ بُ مِمَّ ا تَشْرَ بُونَ
Wa La'in 'Aţ a`tum Bash arā an Mith lakum 'Inn akum 'Idh āan Lakh āsirū na (Al-Mu'uminūn : 34).
023.034 "If ye obey a man like yourselves, behold, it is certain ye will be lost.
وَلَئِن ْ أَطَ عْتُمْ بَشَراً مِثْلَكُمْ إِنَّ كُمْ إِذاً لَخَ اسِرُونَ
'Aya`idukum 'Ann akum 'Idh ā Mittum Wa Kun tum Turā bāan Wa `Ižāmāan 'Ann akum Mukh ra jū na (Al-Mu'uminūn : 35).
023.035 "Does he promise that when ye die and become dust and bones, ye shall be brought forth (again)?
أَيَعِدُكُمْ أَنَّ كُمْ إِذَا مِتُّمْ وَكُن تُمْ تُرَ اباً وَعِظَ اماً أَنَّ كُمْ مُخْ رَ جُونَ
Hayhā ta Hayhā ta Limā Tū`adū na (Al-Mu'uminūn : 36).
023.036 "Far, very far is that which ye are promised!
هَيْهَا تَ هَيْهَا تَ لِمَا تُوعَدُونَ
'In Hiya 'I llā Ĥayātunā A d-Dun yā Namū tu Wa Naĥyā Wa Mā Naĥnu Bimab `ūth ī na (Al-Mu'uminūn : 37).
023.037 "There is nothing but our life in this world! We shall die and we live! But we shall never be raised up again!
إِن ْ هِيَ إِلاَّ حَيَاتُنَا ا ل دُّنْ يَا نَمُو تُ وَنَحْيَا وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمَبْ عُوثِينَ
'In Huwa 'I llā Ra julun A ftará `Alá A ll āhi Kadh ibāan Wa Mā Naĥnu Lahu Bimu'uminī na (Al-Mu'uminūn : 38).
023.038 "He is only a man who invents a lie against God, but we are not the ones to believe in him!"
إِن ْ هُوَ إِلاَّ رَ جُلٌ ا فْتَرَ ى عَلَى ا للَّ هِ كَذِباً وَمَا نَحْنُ لَهُ بِمُؤْمِنِينَ
Q ā la Ra bbi A n ş urnī Bimā Kadh dh abū ni (Al-Mu'uminūn : 39).
023.039 (The prophet) said: "O my Lord! help me: for that they accuse me of falsehood."
قَ ا لَ رَ بِّ ا ن صُ رْنِي بِمَا كَذَّبُونِ
Q ā la `Amm ā Q alī lin Layuş biĥunn a Nādimī na (Al-Mu'uminūn : 40).
023.040 (God) said: "In but a little while, they are sure to be sorry!"
قَ ا لَ عَمَّ ا قَ لِي لٍ لَيُصْ بِحُنَّ نَادِمِينَ
Fa'akh adh at/humu A ş -Ş ayĥatu Bil-Ĥaq q i Faja`alnāhum Gh uth ā 'an ۚ Fabu`dāan Lilq aw mi A ž-Ž ālimī na (Al-Mu'uminūn : 41).
023.041 Then the Blast overtook them with justice, and We made them as rubbish of dead leaves (floating on the stream of Time)! So away with the people who do wrong!
فَأَخَ ذَتْهُمُ ا ل صَّ يْحَةُ بِا لْحَقِّ فَجَعَلْنَاهُمْ غُ ثَا ءً ۚ فَبُعْداً لِلْقَ وْ مِ ا ل ظَّ الِمِينَ
Th umm a 'An sh a'nā Min Ba`dihim Q urūnāan 'Ākh ar ī na (Al-Mu'uminūn : 42).
023.042 Then We raised after them other generations.
ثُمّ َ أَن شَأْنَا مِن ْ بَعْدِهِمْ قُ رُوناً آخَ رِ ينَ
Mā Tasbiq u Min 'Umm atin 'Ajalahā Wa Mā Yasta'kh irū na (Al-Mu'uminūn : 43).
023.043 No people can hasten their term, nor can they delay (it).
مَا تَسْبِقُ مِن ْ أُمَّ ةٍ أَجَلَهَا وَمَا يَسْتَأْخِ رُونَ
Th umm a 'Arsalnā Ru sulanā Tatrā ۖ Kulla Mā Jā 'a 'Umm atan Ra sūluhā Kadh dh abū hu ۚ Fa'atba`nā Ba`đahum Ba`đāan Wa Ja`alnāhum 'Aĥādīth a ۚ Fabu`dāan Liq aw min Lā Yu'uminū na (Al-Mu'uminūn : 44).
023.044 Then sent We our apostles in succession: every time there came to a people their apostle, they accused him of falsehood: so We made them follow each other (in punishment): We made them as a tale (that is told): So away with a people that will not believe!
ثُمّ َ أَرْسَلْنَا رُسُلَنَا تَتْرَ ا ۖ كُلَّ مَا جَا ءَ أُمَّ ة ً رَ سُولُهَا كَذَّبُو هُ ۚ فَأَتْبَعْنَا بَعْضَ هُمْ بَعْض اً وَجَعَلْنَاهُمْ أَحَادِي ثَ ۚ فَبُعْداً لِقَ وْ مٍ لاَ يُؤْمِنُونَ
Th umm a 'Arsalnā Mūsá Wa 'Akh ā hu Hārū na Bi'ā yātinā Wa Sulţ ā nin Mubī nin (Al-Mu'uminūn : 45).
023.045 Then We sent Moses and his brother Aaron, with Our Signs and authority manifest,
ثُمّ َ أَرْسَلْنَا مُوسَى وَأَخَ ا هُ هَارُو نَ بِآيَاتِنَا وَسُلْطَ ا نٍ مُبِينٍ
'Ilá Fir `aw na Wa Mala'ihi Fāstakbarū Wa Kānū Q awmāan `Ālī na (Al-Mu'uminūn : 46).
023.046 To Pharaoh and his Chiefs: But these behaved insolently: they were an arrogant people.
إِلَى فِر ْعَوْ نَ وَمَلَئِهِ فَاسْتَكْبَرُوا وَكَانُوا قَ وْماً عَالِينَ
Faq ālū 'Anu'uminu Libash ara y ni Mith linā Wa Q awmuhumā Lanā `Ābidū na (Al-Mu'uminūn : 47).
023.047 They said: "Shall we believe in two men like ourselves? And their people are subject to us!"
فَقَ الُو ا أَنُؤْمِنُ لِبَشَرَ يْ نِ مِثْلِنَا وَقَ وْمُهُمَا لَنَا عَابِدُونَ
Fakadh dh abūhumā Fakānū Mina A l-Muhlakī na (Al-Mu'uminūn : 48).
023.048 So they accused them of falsehood, and they became of those who were destroyed.
فَكَذَّبُوهُمَا فَكَانُوا مِنَ ا لْمُهْلَكِينَ
Wa Laq ad 'Ātaynā Mūsá A l-Kitā ba La`allahum Yahtadū na (Al-Mu'uminūn : 49).
023.049 And We gave Moses the Book, in order that they might receive guidance.
وَلَقَ دْ آتَيْنَا مُوسَى ا لْكِتَا بَ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَهْتَدُونَ
Wa Ja`alnā A b na Maryama Wa 'Umm ahu 'Āyatan Wa 'Āwaynāhumā 'Ilá Ra b watin Dh ā ti Q ar ā r in Wa Ma`ī nin (Al-Mu'uminūn : 50).
023.050 And We made the son of Mary and his mother as a Sign: We gave them both shelter on high ground, affording rest and security and furnished with springs.
وَجَعَلْنَا ا بْ نَ مَرْيَمَ وَأُمَّ هُ آيَةً وَآوَيْنَاهُمَا إِلَى رَ بْ وَةٍ ذَا تِ قَ رَ ا رٍ وَمَعِينٍ
Yā 'Ayyuhā A r-Ru sulu Kulū Mina A ţ -Ţ ayyibā ti Wa A `malū Ş āliĥāan ۖ 'Inn ī Bimā Ta`malū na `Alī mun (Al-Mu'uminūn : 51).
023.051 O ye apostles! enjoy (all) things good and pure, and work righteousness: for I am well-acquainted with (all) that ye do.
يَا أَيُّهَا ا ل رُّسُلُ كُلُوا مِنَ ا ل طَّ يِّبَا تِ وَا عْمَلُوا صَ الِحاً ۖ إِنِّ ي بِمَا تَعْمَلُو نَ عَلِيمٌ
Wa 'Inn a Hadh ihi 'Umm atukum 'Umm atan Wāĥidatan Wa 'Anā Ra bbukum Fa A ttaq ū ni (Al-Mu'uminūn : 52).
023.052 And verily this Brotherhood of yours is a single Brotherhood, and I am your Lord and Cherisher: therefore fear Me (and no other).
وَإِنّ َ هَذِهِ أُمَّ تُكُمْ أُمَّ ةً وَاحِدَةً وَأَنَا رَ بُّكُمْ فَاتَّقُ ونِ
Fataq aţ ţ a`ū 'Am ra hum Baynahum Zuburā an ۖ Kullu Ĥizbin Bimā Ladayhim Far iĥū na (Al-Mu'uminūn : 53).
023.053 But people have cut off their affair (of unity), between them, into sects: each party rejoices in that which is with itself.
فَتَقَ طَّ عُو ا أَمْرَ هُمْ بَيْنَهُمْ زُبُراً ۖ كُلُّ حِزْبٍ بِمَا لَدَيْهِمْ فَرِ حُونَ
Fadh arhum Fī Gh am ra tihim Ĥattá Ĥī nin (Al-Mu'uminūn : 54).
023.054 But leave them in their confused ignorance for a time.
فَذَرْهُمْ فِي غَ مْرَ تِهِمْ حَتَّى حِينٍ
'Ayaĥsabū na 'Ann amā Numidduhum Bihi Min Mā lin Wa Banī na (Al-Mu'uminūn : 55).
023.055 Do they think that because We have granted them abundance of wealth and sons,
أَيَحْسَبُو نَ أَنَّ مَا نُمِدُّهُمْ بِهِ مِن ْ مَا لٍ وَبَنِينَ
Nusār i`u Lahum Fī A l-Kh ayr ā ti ۚ Bal Lā Yash `urū na (Al-Mu'uminūn : 56).
023.056 We would hasten them on in every good? Nay, they do not understand.
نُسَارِ عُ لَهُمْ فِي ا لْخَ يْرَ ا تِ ۚ بَل لاَ يَشْعُرُونَ
'Inn a A l-Ladh ī na Hum Min Kh ash yati Ra bbihim Mush fiq ū na (Al-Mu'uminūn : 57).
023.057 Verily those who live in awe for fear of their Lord;
إِنّ َ ا لَّذِي نَ هُمْ مِن ْ خَ شْيَةِ رَ بِّهِمْ مُشْفِقُ ونَ
Wa A l-Ladh ī na Hum Bi'ā yā ti Ra bbihim Yu'uminū na (Al-Mu'uminūn : 58).
023.058 Those who believe in the Signs of their Lord;
وَالَّذِي نَ هُمْ بِآيَا تِ رَ بِّهِمْ يُؤْمِنُونَ
Wa A l-Ladh ī na Hum Bira bbihim Lā Yush r ikū na (Al-Mu'uminūn : 59).
023.059 Those who join not (in worship) partners with their Lord;
وَالَّذِي نَ هُمْ بِرَ بِّهِمْ لاَ يُشْرِ كُونَ
Wa A l-Ladh ī na Yu'utū na Mā 'Ātaw Wa Q ulūbuhum Wa Jilatun 'Ann ahum 'Ilá Ra bbihim Rā ji`ū na (Al-Mu'uminūn : 60).
023.060 And those who dispense their charity with their hearts full of fear, because they will return to their Lord;-
وَالَّذِي نَ يُؤْتُو نَ مَا آتَوا وَقُ لُوبُهُمْ وَجِلَةٌ أَنَّ هُمْ إِلَى رَ بِّهِمْ رَ اجِعُونَ
'Ūlā 'ika Yusār i`ū na Fī A l-Kh ayr ā ti Wa Hum Lahā Sābiq ū na (Al-Mu'uminūn : 61).
023.061 It is these who hasten in every good work, and these who are foremost in them.
أُ وْلَا ئِكَ يُسَارِ عُو نَ فِي ا لْخَ يْرَ ا تِ وَهُمْ لَهَا سَابِقُ ونَ
Wa Lā Nukallifu Nafsāan 'Illā Wus`ahā ۖ Wa Ladaynā Kitā bun Yan ţ iq u Bil-Ĥaq q i ۚ Wa Hum Lā Yužlamūn (Al-Mu'uminūn : 62).
023.062 On no soul do We place a burden greater than it can bear: before Us is a record which clearly shows the truth: they will never be wronged.
وَلاَ نُكَلِّفُ نَفْساً إِلاَّ وُسْعَهَا ۖ وَلَدَيْنَا كِتَا بٌ يَن طِ قُ بِا لْحَقِّ ۚ وَهُمْ لاَ يُظْ لَمُون
Bal Q ulūbuhum Fī Gh am ra tin Min Hādh ā Wa Lahum 'A`mā lun Min Dū ni Dh ālika Hum Lahā `Āmilū na (Al-Mu'uminūn : 63).
023.063 But their hearts are in confused ignorance of this; and there are, besides that, deeds of theirs, which they will (continue) to do,-
بَلْ قُ لُوبُهُمْ فِي غَ مْرَ ةٍ مِن ْ هَذَا وَلَهُمْ أَعْمَا لٌ مِن ْ دُو نِ ذَلِكَ هُمْ لَهَا عَامِلُونَ
Ĥattá 'Idh ā 'Akh adh nā Mutra fīhim Bil-`Adh ā bi 'Idh ā Hum Yaj 'arū na (Al-Mu'uminūn : 64).
023.064 Until, when We seize in Punishment those of them who received the good things of this world, behold, they will groan in supplication!
حَتَّى إِذَا أَخَ ذْنَا مُتْرَ فِيهِمْ بِا لْعَذَا بِ إِذَا هُمْ يَجْ أَرُونَ
Lā Taj 'arū A l-Yaw ma ۖ 'Inn akum Minn ā Lā Tun ş arū na (Al-Mu'uminūn : 65).
023.065 (It will be said): "Groan not in supplication this day: for ye shall certainly not be helped by Us.
لاَ تَجْ أَرُوا ا لْيَوْ مَ ۖ إِنَّ كُمْ مِنَّ ا لاَ تُن صَ رُونَ
Q ad Kānat 'Āyātī Tutlá `Alaykum Fakun tum `Alá 'A`q ābikum Tan kiş ū na (Al-Mu'uminūn : 66).
023.066 "My Signs used to be rehearsed to you, but ye used to turn back on your heels-
قَ دْ كَانَتْ آيَاتِي تُتْلَى عَلَيْكُمْ فَكُن تُمْ عَلَى أَعْقَ ابِكُمْ تَن كِصُ ونَ
Mustakbir ī na Bihi Sāmirā an Tahjurū na (Al-Mu'uminūn : 67).
023.067 "In arrogance: talking nonsense about the (Qur'an), like one telling fables by night."
مُسْتَكْبِر ِي نَ بِهِ سَامِر اً تَهْجُرُونَ
'Afalam Yaddabbarū A l-Q aw la 'Am Jā 'ahum Mā Lam Ya'ti 'Ābā 'ahumu A l-'Awwalī na (Al-Mu'uminūn : 68).
023.068 Do they not ponder over the Word (of God), or has anything (new) come to them that did not come to their fathers of old?
أَفَلَمْ يَدَّبَّرُوا ا لْقَ وْ لَ أَمْ جَا ءَهُمْ مَا لَمْ يَأْتِ آبَا ءَهُمُ ا لأَوَّلِينَ
'Am Lam Ya`r ifū Ra sūlahum Fahum Lahu Mun kirū na (Al-Mu'uminūn : 69).
023.069 Or do they not recognise their Apostle, that they deny him?
أَمْ لَمْ يَعْرِ فُوا رَ سُولَهُمْ فَهُمْ لَهُ مُن كِرُونَ
'Am Yaq ūlū na Bihi Jinn atun ۚ Bal Jā 'ahum Bil-Ĥaq q i Wa 'Akth aru hum Lilĥaq q i Kār ihū na (Al-Mu'uminūn : 70).
023.070 Or do they say, "He is possessed"? Nay, he has brought them the Truth, but most of them hate the Truth.
أَمْ يَقُ ولُو نَ بِهِ جِنَّ ةٌ ۚ بَلْ جَا ءَهُمْ بِا لْحَقِّ وَأَكْثَرُهُمْ لِلْحَقِّ كَارِ هُونَ
Wa Lawi A ttaba`a A l-Ĥaq q u 'Ahwā 'ahum Lafasadati A s-Samāwā tu Wa A l-'Arđu Wa Man Fīhinn a ۚ Bal 'Ataynāhum Bidh ikr ihim Fahum `An Dh ikr ihim Mu`r iđū na (Al-Mu'uminūn : 71).
023.071 If the Truth had been in accord with their desires, truly the heavens and the earth, and all beings therein would have been in confusion and corruption! Nay, We have sent them their admonition, but they turn away from their admonition.
وَلَوِ ا تَّبَعَ ا لْحَقُّ أَهْوَا ءَهُمْ لَفَسَدَتِ ا ل سَّمَاوَا تُ وَا لأَرْضُ وَمَن ْ فِيهِنّ َ ۚ بَلْ أَتَيْنَاهُمْ بِذِكْرِ هِمْ فَهُمْ عَن ْ ذِكْرِ هِمْ مُعْرِ ضُ ونَ
'Am Tas'aluhum Kh arjāan Fakh ar ā ju Ra bbika Kh ay ru n ۖ Wa Huwa Kh ay ru A r-Rā ziq ī na (Al-Mu'uminūn : 72).
023.072 Or is it that thou askest them for some recompense? But the recompense of thy Lord is best: He is the Best of those who give sustenance.
أَمْ تَسْأَلُهُمْ خَ رْجاً فَخَ رَ ا جُ رَ بِّكَ خَ يْ رٌ ۖ وَهُوَ خَ يْ رُ ا ل رَّ ازِقِ ينَ
Wa 'Inn aka Latad `ūhum 'Ilá Ş irā ţ in Mustaq ī min (Al-Mu'uminūn : 73).
023.073 But verily thou callest them to the Straight Way;
وَإِنَّ كَ لَتَدْ عُوهُمْ إِلَى صِ رَ ا ط ٍ مُسْتَقِ يمٍ
Wa 'Inn a A l-Ladh ī na Lā Yu'uminū na Bil-'Ākh ira ti `Ani A ş -Ş ir ā ţ i Lanākibū na (Al-Mu'uminūn : 74).
023.074 And verily those who believe not in the Hereafter are deviating from that Way.
وَإِنّ َ ا لَّذِي نَ لاَ يُؤْمِنُو نَ بِا لآخِ رَ ةِ عَنِ ا ل صِّ رَ ا طِ لَنَاكِبُونَ
Wa Law Ra ĥim nāhum Wa Kash afnā Mā Bihim Min Đ urr in Lalajjū Fī Ţ ugh yānihim Ya`mahū na (Al-Mu'uminūn : 75).
023.075 If We had mercy on them and removed the distress which is on them, they would obstinately persist in their transgression, wandering in distraction to and fro.
وَلَوْ رَ حِمْنَاهُمْ وَكَشَفْنَا مَا بِهِمْ مِن ْ ضُ رٍّ لَلَجُّوا فِي طُ غْ يَانِهِمْ يَعْمَهُونَ
Wa Laq ad 'Akh adh nāhum Bil-`Adh ā bi Famā A stakānū Lira bbihim Wa Mā Yatađarra `ū na (Al-Mu'uminūn : 76).
023.076 We inflicted Punishment on them, but they humbled not themselves to their Lord, nor do they submissively entreat (Him)!-
وَلَقَ دْ أَخَ ذْنَاهُمْ بِا لْعَذَا بِ فَمَا ا سْتَكَانُوا لِرَ بِّهِمْ وَمَا يَتَضَ رَّ عُونَ
Ĥattá 'Idh ā Fataĥnā `Alayhim Bābāan Dh ā `Adh ā bin Sh adī din 'Idh ā Hum Fī hi Mub lisū na (Al-Mu'uminūn : 77).
023.077 Until We open on them a gate leading to a severe Punishment: then Lo! they will be plunged in despair therein!
حَتَّى إِذَا فَتَحْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ بَاباً ذَا عَذَا بٍ شَدِي دٍ إِذَا هُمْ فِي هِ مُبْ لِسُونَ
Wa Huwa A l-Ladh ī 'An sh a'a Lakumu A s-Sam `a Wa A l-'Ab ş ā ra Wa A l-'Af'idata ۚ Q alīlāan Mā Tash kurū na (Al-Mu'uminūn : 78).
023.078 It is He Who has created for you (the faculties of) hearing, sight, feeling and understanding: little thanks it is ye give!
وَهُوَ ا لَّذِي أَن شَأَ لَكُمُ ا ل سَّمْعَ وَا لأَبْ صَ ا رَ وَا لأَفْئِدَةَ ۚ قَ لِيلاً مَا تَشْكُرُونَ
Wa Huwa A l-Ladh ī Dh ara 'akum Fī A l-'Arđi Wa 'Ilay hi Tuĥsh arū na (Al-Mu'uminūn : 79).
023.079 And He has multiplied you through the earth, and to Him shall ye be gathered back.
وَهُوَ ا لَّذِي ذَرَ أَكُمْ فِي ا لأَرْضِ وَإِلَيْ هِ تُحْشَرُونَ
Wa Huwa A l-Ladh ī Yuĥyī Wa Yumī tu Wa Lahu A kh tilā fu A l-Lay li Wa A n -Nahā r i ۚ 'Afalā Ta`q ilū na (Al-Mu'uminūn : 80).
023.080 It is He Who gives life and death, and to Him (is due) the alternation of Night and Day: will ye not then understand?
وَهُوَ ا لَّذِي يُحْيِي وَيُمِي تُ وَلَهُ ا خْ تِلاَفُ ا ل لَّيْ لِ وَا ل نَّ هَا رِ ۚ أَفَلاَ تَعْقِ لُونَ
Bal Q ālū Mith la Mā Q ā la A l-'Awwalū na (Al-Mu'uminūn : 81).
023.081 On the contrary they say things similar to what the ancients said.
بَلْ قَ الُوا مِثْلَ مَا قَ ا لَ ا لأَوَّلُونَ
Q ālū 'A'idh ā Mitnā Wa Kunn ā Turā bāan Wa `Ižāmāan 'A'inn ā Lamab `ūth ū na (Al-Mu'uminūn : 82).
023.082 They say: "What! when we die and become dust and bones, could we really be raised up again?
قَ الُو ا أَئِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنَّ ا تُرَ اباً وَعِظَ اماً أَئِنَّ ا لَمَبْ عُوثُونَ
Laq ad Wu`id nā Naĥnu Wa 'Ābā 'uunā Hādh ā Min Q ab lu 'In Hādh ā 'Illā 'Asāţ ī r u A l-'Awwalī na (Al-Mu'uminūn : 83).
023.083 "Such things have been promised to us and to our fathers before! they are nothing but tales of the ancients!"
لَقَ دْ وُعِدْ نَا نَحْنُ وَآبَا ؤُنَا هَذَا مِن ْ قَ بْ لُ إِن ْ هَذَا إِلاَّ أَسَاطِ ي ر ُا لأَوَّلِينَ
Q ul Limani A l-'Arđu Wa Man Fīhā 'In Kun tum Ta`lamū na (Al-Mu'uminūn : 84).
023.084 Say: "To whom belong the earth and all beings therein? (say) if ye know!"
قُ لْ لِمَنِ ا لأَرْضُ وَمَن ْ فِيهَا إِن ْ كُن تُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ
Sayaq ūlū na Lill ā h ۚ Q ul 'Afalā Tadh akkarū na (Al-Mu'uminūn : 85).
023.085 They will say, "To God!" say: "Yet will ye not receive admonition?"
سَيَقُ ولُو نَ لِلَّهِ ۚ قُ لْ أَفَلاَ تَذَكَّرُونَ
Q ul Man Ra bbu A s-Samāwā ti A s-Sab `i Wa Ra bbu A l-`Arsh i A l-`Ažī mi (Al-Mu'uminūn : 86).
023.086 Say: "Who is the Lord of the seven heavens, and the Lord of the Throne (of Glory) Supreme?"
قُ لْ مَن ْ رَ بُّ ا ل سَّمَاوَا تِ ا ل سَّبْ عِ وَرَ بُّ ا لْعَرْشِ ا لْعَظِ يمِ
Sayaq ūlū na Lill ā h ۚ Q ul 'Afalā Tattaq ū na (Al-Mu'uminūn : 87).
023.087 They will say, "(They belong) to God." Say: "Will ye not then be filled with awe?"
سَيَقُ ولُو نَ لِلَّهِ ۚ قُ لْ أَفَلاَ تَتَّقُ ونَ
Q ul Man Biyadihi Malakū tu Kulli Sh ay 'in Wa Huwa Yujī r u Wa Lā Yujā ru `Alay hi 'In Kun tum Ta`lamūn (Al-Mu'uminūn : 88).
023.088 Say: "Who is it in whose hands is the governance of all things,- who protects (all), but is not protected (of any)? (say) if ye know."
قُ لْ مَن ْ بِيَدِهِ مَلَكُو تُ كُلِّ شَيْ ءٍ وَهُوَ يُجِي ر ُوَلاَ يُجَا رُ عَلَيْ هِ إِن ْ كُن تُمْ تَعْلَمُون
Sayaq ūlū na Lill ā h ۚ Q ul Fa'ann ā Tusĥarū na (Al-Mu'uminūn : 89).
023.089 They will say, "(It belongs) to God." Say: "Then how are ye deluded?"
سَيَقُ ولُو نَ لِلَّهِ ۚ قُ لْ فَأَنَّ ا تُسْحَرُونَ
Bal 'Ataynāhum Bil-Ĥaq q i Wa 'Inn ahum Lakādh ibū na (Al-Mu'uminūn : 90).
023.090 We have sent them the Truth: but they indeed practise falsehood!
بَلْ أَتَيْنَاهُمْ بِا لْحَقِّ وَإِنَّ هُمْ لَكَاذِبُونَ
Mā A ttakh adh a A ll āhu Min Waladin Wa Mā Kā na Ma`ahu Min 'Ilahin ۚ 'Idh āan Ladh ahaba Kullu 'Ilahin Bimā Kh alaq a Wa La`alā Ba`đuhum `Alá Ba`đin ۚ Sub ĥā na A ll āhi `Amm ā Yaş ifū na (Al-Mu'uminūn : 91).
023.091 No son did God beget, nor is there any god along with Him: (if there were many gods), behold, each god would have taken away what he had created, and some would have lorded it over others! Glory to God! (He is free) from the (sort of) things they attribute to Him!
مَا ا تَّخَ ذَ ا للَّ هُ مِن ْ وَلَدٍ وَمَا كَا نَ مَعَهُ مِن ْ إِلَهٍ ۚ إِذاً لَذَهَبَ كُلُّ إِلَهٍ بِمَا خَ لَقَ وَلَعَلاَ بَعْضُ هُمْ عَلَى بَعْض ٍ ۚ سُبْ حَا نَ ا للَّ هِ عَمَّ ا يَصِ فُونَ
`Ālimi A l-Gh ay bi Wa A sh -Sh ahādati Fata`ālá `Amm ā Yush r ikū na (Al-Mu'uminūn : 92).
023.092 He knows what is hidden and what is open: too high is He for the partners they attribute to Him!
عَالِمِ ا لْغَ يْ بِ وَا ل شَّهَادَةِ فَتَعَالَى عَمَّ ا يُشْرِ كُونَ
Q ul Ra bbi 'Imm ā Tur iyann ī Mā Yū`adū na (Al-Mu'uminūn : 93).
023.093 Say: "O my Lord! if Thou wilt show me (in my lifetime) that which they are warned against,-
قُ لْ رَ بِّ إِمَّ ا تُرِ يَنِّ ي مَا يُوعَدُونَ
Ra bbi Falā Taj `alnī Fī A l-Q aw mi A ž-Ž ālimī na (Al-Mu'uminūn : 94).
023.094 "Then, O my Lord! put me not amongst the people who do wrong!"
رَ بِّ فَلاَ تَجْ عَلْنِي فِي ا لْقَ وْ مِ ا ل ظَّ الِمِينَ
Wa 'Inn ā `Alá 'An Nur iyaka Mā Na`iduhum Laq ādirū na (Al-Mu'uminūn : 95).
023.095 And We are certainly able to show thee (in fulfilment) that against which they are warned.
وَإِنَّ ا عَلَى أَن ْ نُرِ يَكَ مَا نَعِدُهُمْ لَقَ ادِرُونَ
A d fa` Bi-Atī Hiya 'Aĥsanu A s-Sayyi'a ta ۚ Naĥnu 'A`lamu Bimā Yaş ifū na (Al-Mu'uminūn : 96).
023.096 Repel evil with that which is best: We are well acquainted with the things they say.
ا دْ فَعْ بِا لَّتِي هِيَ أَحْسَنُ ا ل سَّيِّئَةَ ۚ نَحْنُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا يَصِ فُونَ
Wa Q ul Ra bbi 'A`ūdh u Bika Min Hamazā ti A sh -Sh ayāţ ī ni (Al-Mu'uminūn : 97).
023.097 And say "O my Lord! I seek refuge with Thee from the suggestions of the Evil Ones.
وَقُ لْ رَ بِّ أَعُو ذُ بِكَ مِن ْ هَمَزَا تِ ا ل شَّيَاطِ ينِ
Wa 'A`ūdh u Bika Ra bbi 'An Yaĥđurū ni (Al-Mu'uminūn : 98).
023.098 "And I seek refuge with Thee O my Lord! lest they should come near me."
وَأَعُو ذُ بِكَ رَ بِّ أَن ْ يَحْضُ رُونِ
Ĥattá 'Idh ā Jā 'a 'Aĥadahumu A l-Maw tu Q ā la Ra bbi A rji`ū ni (Al-Mu'uminūn : 99).
023.099 (In Falsehood will they be) Until, when death comes to one of them, he says: "O my Lord! send me back (to life),-
حَتَّى إِذَا جَا ءَ أَحَدَهُمُ ا لْمَوْ تُ قَ ا لَ رَ بِّ ا رْجِعُونِ
La`allī 'A`malu Ş āliĥāan Fīmā Tara ktu ۚ Kallā ۚ 'Inn ahā Kalimatun Huwa Q ā 'iluhā ۖ Wa Min Warā 'ihim Barzakh un 'Ilá Yaw mi Yub `ath ū na (Al-Mu'uminūn : 100).
023.100 "In order that I may work righteousness in the things I neglected." - "By no means! It is but a word he says."- Before them is a Partition till the Day they are raised up.
لَعَلِّي أَعْمَلُ صَ الِحاً فِيمَا تَرَ كْتُ ۚ كَلاَّ ۚ إِنَّ هَا كَلِمَةٌ هُوَ قَ ا ئِلُهَا ۖ وَمِن ْ وَرَا ئِهِمْ بَرْزَخ ٌ إِلَى يَوْ مِ يُبْ عَثُونَ
Fa'idh ā Nufikh a Fī A ş -Ş ū r i Falā 'An sā ba Baynahum Yawma'idh in Wa Lā Yatasā 'alū na (Al-Mu'uminūn : 101).
023.101 Then when the Trumpet is blown, there will be no more relationships between them that Day, nor will one ask after another!
فَإِذَا نُفِخَ فِي ا ل صُّ و رِ فَلاَ أَن سَا بَ بَيْنَهُمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ وَلاَ يَتَسَا ءَلُونَ
Faman Th aq ulat Mawāzīnuhu Fa'ūlā 'ika Humu A l-Mufliĥū na (Al-Mu'uminūn : 102).
023.102 Then those whose balance (of good deeds) is heavy,- they will attain salvation:
فَمَن ْ ثَقُ لَتْ مَوَازِينُهُ فَأُ وْلَا ئِكَ هُمُ ا لْمُفْلِحُونَ
Wa Man Kh affat Mawāzīnuhu Fa'ūlā 'ika A l-Ladh ī na Kh asirū 'An fusahum Fī Jahann ama Kh ālidū na (Al-Mu'uminūn : 103).
023.103 But those whose balance is light, will be those who have lost their souls, in Hell will they abide.
وَمَن ْ خَ فَّتْ مَوَازِينُهُ فَأُ وْلَا ئِكَ ا لَّذِي نَ خَ سِرُو ا أَن فُسَهُمْ فِي جَهَنَّ مَ خَ الِدُونَ
Talfaĥu Wujūhahumu A n -Nā ru Wa Hum Fīhā Kāliĥū na (Al-Mu'uminūn : 104).
023.104 The Fire will burn their faces, and they will therein grin, with their lips displaced.
تَلْفَحُ وُجُوهَهُمُ ا ل نّ َا رُ وَهُمْ فِيهَا كَالِحُونَ
'Alam Takun 'Āyātī Tutlá `Alaykum Fakun tum Bihā Tukadh dh ibū na (Al-Mu'uminūn : 105).
023.105 "Were not My Signs rehearsed to you, and ye did but treat them as falsehood?"
أَلَمْ تَكُن ْ آيَاتِي تُتْلَى عَلَيْكُمْ فَكُن تُمْ بِهَا تُكَذِّبُونَ
Q ālū Ra bbanā Gh alabat `Alaynā Sh iq watunā Wa Kunn ā Q awmāan Đ ā llī na (Al-Mu'uminūn : 106).
023.106 They will say: "our Lord! Our misfortune overwhelmed us, and we became a people astray!
قَ الُوا رَ بَّنَا غَ لَبَتْ عَلَيْنَا شِقْ وَتُنَا وَكُنَّ ا قَ وْماً ضَ ا لِّينَ
Ra bbanā 'Akh r ij nā Minhā Fa'in `Ud nā Fa'inn ā Ž ālimū na (Al-Mu'uminūn : 107).
023.107 "Our Lord! bring us out of this: if ever we return (to Evil), then shall we be wrong-doers indeed!"
رَ بَّنَا أَخْ رِ جْ نَا مِنْ هَا فَإِن ْ عُدْ نَا فَإِنَّ ا ظَ الِمُونَ
Q ā la A kh sa'ū Fīhā Wa Lā Tukallimū ni (Al-Mu'uminūn : 108).
023.108 He will say: "Be ye driven into it (with ignominy)! And speak ye not to Me!
قَ ا لَ ا خْ سَئُ وا فِيهَا وَلاَ تُكَلِّمُونِ
'Inn ahu Kā na Far ī q un Min `Ibādī Yaq ūlū na Ra bbanā 'Āmann ā Fāgh fir Lanā Wa A rĥam nā Wa 'An ta Kh ay ru A r-Rā ĥimī na (Al-Mu'uminūn : 109).
023.109 "A part of My servants there was, who used to pray 'our Lord! we believe; then do Thou forgive us, and have mercy upon us: For Thou art the Best of those who show mercy!"
إِنَّ هُ كَا نَ فَر ِي قٌ مِن ْ عِبَادِي يَقُ ولُو نَ رَ بَّنَا آمَنَّ ا فَاغْ فِر ْ لَنَا وَا رْحَمْنَا وَأَنْ تَ خَ يْ رُ ا ل رَّ احِمِينَ
Fā ttakh adh tumūhum Sikh r īy 7an Ĥattá 'An sawkum Dh ikr ī Wa Kun tum Minhum Tađĥakū na (Al-Mu'uminūn : 110).
023.110 "But ye treated them with ridicule, so much so that (ridicule of) them made you forget My Message while ye were laughing at them!
فَاتَّخَ ذْتُمُوهُمْ سِخْ رِ يّاً حَتَّى أَن سَوْكُمْ ذِكْرِ ي وَكُن تُمْ مِنْ هُمْ تَضْ حَكُونَ
'Inn ī Jazaytuhu mu A l-Yaw ma Bimā Ş abarū 'Ann ahum Humu A l-Fā 'izū na (Al-Mu'uminūn : 111).
023.111 "I have rewarded them this Day for their patience and constancy: they are indeed the ones that have achieved Bliss..."
إِنِّ ي جَزَيْتُهُمُ ا لْيَوْ مَ بِمَا صَ بَرُو ا أَنَّ هُمْ هُمُ ا لْفَا ئِزُونَ
Q ā la Kam Labith tum Fī A l-'Arđi `Adada Sinī na (Al-Mu'uminūn : 112).
023.112 He will say: "What number of years did ye stay on earth?"
قَ ا لَ كَمْ لَبِثْتُمْ فِي ا لأَرْضِ عَدَدَ سِنِينَ
Q ālū Labith nā Yawmāan 'Aw Ba` đa Yaw min Fās'ali A l-`Ā ddī na (Al-Mu'uminūn : 113).
023.113 They will say: "We stayed a day or part of a day: but ask those who keep account."
قَ الُوا لَبِثْنَا يَوْماً أَوْ بَعْضَ يَوْ مٍ فَاسْأَلِ ا لْعَا دِّينَ
Q ā la 'In Labith tum 'Illā Q alīlāan ۖ Law 'Ann akum Kun tum Ta`lamū na (Al-Mu'uminūn : 114).
023.114 He will say: "Ye stayed not but a little,- if ye had only known!
قَ ا لَ إِن ْ لَبِثْتُمْ إِلاَّ قَ لِيلاً ۖ لَوْ أَنَّ كُمْ كُن تُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ
'Afaĥasib tum 'Ann amā Kh alaq nākum `Abath āan Wa 'Ann akum 'Ilaynā Lā Turja`ū na (Al-Mu'uminūn : 115).
023.115 "Did ye then think that We had created you in jest, and that ye would not be brought back to Us (for account)?"
أَفَحَسِبْ تُمْ أَنَّ مَا خَ لَقْ نَاكُمْ عَبَثاً وَأَنَّ كُمْ إِلَيْنَا لاَ تُرْجَعُونَ
Fata`ālá A ll āhu A l-Maliku A l-Ĥaq q u ۖ Lā 'Ilā ha 'Illā Huwa Ra bbu A l-`Arsh i A l-Kar ī mi (Al-Mu'uminūn : 116).
023.116 Therefore exalted be God, the King, the Reality: there is no god but He, the Lord of the Throne of Honour!
فَتَعَالَى ا للَّ هُ ا لْمَلِكُ ا لْحَقُّ ۖ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ هُوَ رَ بُّ ا لْعَرْشِ ا لْكَرِ يمِ
Wa Man Yad `u Ma`a A ll āhi 'Ilahāan 'Ākh ara Lā Burhā na Lahu Bihi Fa'inn amā Ĥisābuhu `In da Ra bbihi ۚ 'Inn ahu Lā Yufliĥu A l-Kāfirū na (Al-Mu'uminūn : 117).
023.117 If anyone invokes, besides God, Any other god, he has no authority therefor; and his reckoning will be only with his Lord! and verily the Unbelievers will fail to win through!
وَمَن ْ يَدْ عُ مَعَ ا للَّ هِ إِلَهاً آخَ رَ لاَ بُرْهَا نَ لَهُ بِهِ فَإِنَّ مَا حِسَابُهُ عِنْ دَ رَ بِّهِ ۚ إِنَّ هُ لاَ يُفْلِحُ ا لْكَافِرُونَ
Wa Q ul Ra bbi A gh fir Wa A rĥam Wa 'An ta Kh ay ru A r-Rā ĥimī na (Al-Mu'uminūn : 118).
023.118 So say: "O my Lord! grant Thou forgiveness and mercy for Thou art the Best of those who show mercy!"
وَقُ لْ رَ بِّ ا غْ فِر ْ وَا رْحَمْ وَأَنْ تَ خَ يْ رُ ا ل رَّ احِمِينَ
