كَاف-هَا-يَا-عَين -صَ اد
Dh ikru Ra ĥmati Ra bbika `Ab dahu Zakar īyā (Maryam : 2).
019.002 (This is) a recital of the Mercy of thy Lord to His servant Zakariya.
ذِكْرُ رَ حْمَةِ رَ بِّكَ عَبْ دَهُ زَكَرِ يَّا
'Idh Nādá Ra bbahu Nidā 'an Kh afīy 7an (Maryam : 3).
019.003 Behold! he cried to his Lord in secret,
إِذْ نَادَى رَ بَّهُ نِدَا ءً خَ فِيّاً
Q ā la Ra bbi 'Inn ī Wahana A l-`Ažmu Minn ī Wa A sh ta`ala A r-Ra 'su Sh aybāan Wa Lam 'Akun Bidu`ā 'ika Ra bbi Sh aq īy 7an (Maryam : 4).
019.004 Praying: "O my Lord! infirm indeed are my bones, and the hair of my head doth glisten with grey: but never am I unblest, O my Lord, in my prayer to Thee!
قَ ا لَ رَ بِّ إِنِّ ي وَهَنَ ا لْعَظْ مُ مِنِّ ي وَا شْتَعَلَ ا ل رَّ أْسُ شَيْباً وَلَمْ أَكُن ْ بِدُعَا ئِكَ رَ بِّ شَقِ يّاً
Wa 'Inn ī Kh iftu A l-Mawāliya Min Warā 'ī Wa Kānati A m ra 'atī `Āq irā an Fahab Lī Min Ladun ka Walīy 7an (Maryam : 5).
019.005 "Now I fear (what) my relatives (and colleagues) (will do) after me: but my wife is barren: so give me an heir as from Thyself,-
وَإِنِّ ي خِ فْتُ ا لْمَوَالِيَ مِن ْ وَرَا ئِ ي وَكَانَتِ ا مْرَ أَتِي عَاقِ ر اً فَهَب ْ لِي مِن ْ لَدُنْ كَ وَلِيّاً
Yar ith unī Wa Yar ith u Min 'Ā li Ya`q ū ba ۖ Wa A j `alhu Ra bbi Ra đīy 7an (Maryam : 6).
019.006 "(One that) will (truly) represent me, and represent the posterity of Jacob; and make him, O my Lord! one with whom Thou art well-pleased!"
يَرِ ثُنِي وَيَرِ ثُ مِن ْ آلِ يَعْقُ و بَ ۖ وَا جْ عَلْهُ رَ بِّ رَ ضِ يّاً
Yā Zakar īyā 'Inn ā Nubash sh iru ka Bigh ulā min A smuhu Yaĥyá Lam Naj `al Lahu Min Q ab lu Samīy 7an (Maryam : 7).
019.007 (His prayer was answered): "O Zakariya! We give thee good news of a son: His name shall be Yahya: on none by that name have We conferred distinction before."
يَازَكَرِ يَّا إِنَّ ا نُبَشِّرُكَ بِغُ لاَمٍ ا سْمُهُ يَحْيَى لَمْ نَجْ عَلْ لَهُ مِن ْ قَ بْ لُ سَمِيّاً
Q ā la Ra bbi 'Ann á Yakū nu Lī Gh ulā mun Wa Kānat A m ra 'atī `Āq irā an Wa Q ad Balagh tu Mina A l-Kibar i `Itīy 7an (Maryam : 8).
019.008 He said: "O my Lord! How shall I have a son, when my wife is barren and I have grown quite decrepit from old age?"
قَ ا لَ رَ بِّ أَنَّ ى يَكُو نُ لِي غُ لاَمٌ وَكَانَتْ ا مْرَ أَتِي عَاقِ ر اً وَقَ دْ بَلَغْ تُ مِنَ ا لْكِبَرِ عِتِيّاً
Q ā la Kadh ālika Q ā la Ra bbuka Huwa `Alay ya Ha yyinun Wa Q ad Kh alaq tuka Min Q ab lu Wa Lam Taku Sh ay'ā an (Maryam : 9).
019.009 He said: "So (it will be) thy Lord saith, 'that is easy for Me: I did indeed create thee before, when thou hadst been nothing!'"
قَ ا لَ كَذَلِكَ قَ ا لَ رَ بُّكَ هُوَ عَلَيَّ هَيِّنٌ وَقَ دْ خَ لَقْ تُكَ مِن ْ قَ بْ لُ وَلَمْ تَكُ شَيْ ئاً
Q ā la Ra bbi A j `al Lī 'Āyatan ۚ Q ā la 'Āyatuka 'Allā Tukallima A n -Nā sa Th alāth a Layā lin Sawīy 7an (Maryam : 10).
019.010 (Zakariya) said: "O my Lord! give me a Sign." "Thy Sign," was the answer, "Shall be that thou shalt speak to no man for three nights, although thou art not dumb."
قَ ا لَ رَ بِّ ا جْ عَل لِي آيَةً ۚ قَ ا لَ آيَتُكَ أَلاَّ تُكَلِّمَ ا ل نّ َا سَ ثَلاَثَ لَيَا لٍ سَوِيّاً
Fakh ara ja `Alá Q awmihi Mina A l-Miĥr ā bi Fa'awĥá 'Ilayhim 'An Sabbiĥū Bukra tan Wa `Ash īy 7an (Maryam: 11).
019.011 So Zakariya came out to his people from him chamber: He told them by signs to celebrate God's praises in the morning and in the evening.
فَخَ رَ جَ عَلَى قَ وْمِهِ مِنَ ا لْمِحْرَ ا بِ فَأَوْحَى إِلَيْهِمْ أَن ْ سَبِّحُوا بُكْرَ ةً وَعَشِيّاً
Yā Yaĥyá Kh udh i A l-Kitā ba Biq ūwatin ۖ Wa 'Ātaynā hu A l-Ĥukma Ş abīy 7an (Maryam : 12).
019.012 (To his son came the command): "O Yahya! take hold of the Book with might": and We gave him Wisdom even as a youth,
يَايَحْيَى خُ ذِ ا لْكِتَا بَ بِقُ وَّةٍ وَآتَيْنَا هُ ۖ ا لْحُكْمَ صَ بِيّاً
Wa Ĥanānāan Min Ladunn ā Wa Zakāatan ۖ Wa Kā na Taq īy 7an (Maryam : 13).
019.013 And piety (for all creatures) as from Us, and purity: He was devout,
وَحَنَاناً مِن ْ لَدُنَّ ا وَزَكَا ةً ۖ وَكَا نَ تَقِ يّاً
Wa Barrā an Biwāliday hi Wa Lam Yakun Jabbārā an `Aş īy 7an (Maryam : 14).
019.014 And kind to his parents, and he was not overbearing or rebellious.
وَبَرّاً بِوَالِدَيْ هِ وَلَمْ يَكُن ْ جَبَّاراً عَصِ يّاً
Wa Salā mun `Alay hi Yaw ma Wulida Wa Yaw ma Yamū tu Wa Yaw ma Yub `ath u Ĥayy 7an (Maryam : 15).
019.015 So Peace on him the day he was born, the day that he dies, and the day that he will be raised up to life (again)!
وَسَلاَمٌ عَلَيْ هِ يَوْ مَ وُلِدَ وَيَوْ مَ يَمُو تُ وَيَوْ مَ يُبْ عَثُ حَيّاً
Wa A dh kur Fī A l-Kitā bi Maryama 'Idh A n tabadh at Min 'Ahlihā Makānāan Sh arq īy 7an (Maryam : 16).
019.016 Relate in the Book (the story of) Mary, when she withdrew from her family to a place in the East.
وَاذْكُرْ فِي ا لْكِتَا بِ مَرْيَمَ إِذْ ا ن تَبَذَتْ مِن ْ أَهْلِهَا مَكَاناً شَرْقِ يّاً
Fā ttakh adh at Min Dūnihim Ĥijābāan Fa'arsalnā 'Ilayhā Rūĥanā Fatamath th ala Lahā Bash arā an Sawīy 7an (Maryam : 17).
019.017 She placed a screen (to screen herself) from them; then We sent her our angel, and he appeared before her as a man in all respects.
فَاتَّخَ ذَتْ مِن ْ دُونِهِمْ حِجَاباً فَأَرْسَلْنَا إِلَيْهَا رُوحَنَا فَتَمَثَّلَ لَهَا بَشَراً سَوِيّاً
Q ālat 'Inn ī 'A`ūdh u Bir -Ra ĥmani Min ka 'In Kun ta Taq īy 7an (Maryam : 18).
019.018 She said: "I seek refuge from thee to (God) Most Gracious: (come not near) if thou dost fear God."
قَ الَتْ إِنِّ ي أَعُو ذُ بِا ل رَّ حْمَنِ مِنْ كَ إِن ْ كُن تَ تَقِ يّاً
Q ā la 'Inn amā 'Anā Ra sū lu Ra bbiki Li'haba Laki Gh ulāmāan Zakīy 7an (Maryam : 19).
019.019 He said: "Nay, I am only a messenger from thy Lord, (to announce) to thee the gift of a holy son.
قَ ا لَ إِنَّ مَا أَنَا رَ سُو لُ رَ بِّكِ لِأهَبَ لَكِ غُ لاَماً زَكِيّاً
Q ālat 'Ann á Yakū nu Lī Gh ulā mun Wa Lam Yam sasnī Bash aru n Wa Lam 'Aku Bagh īy 7an (Maryam : 20).
019.020 She said: "How shall I have a son, seeing that no man has touched me, and I am not unchaste?"
قَ الَتْ أَنَّ ى يَكُو نُ لِي غُ لاَمٌ وَلَمْ يَمْسَسْنِي بَشَرٌ وَلَمْ أَكُ بَغِ يّاً
Q ā la Kadh āliki Q ā la Ra bbuki Huwa `Alay ya Ha yyinun ۖ Wa Linaj `alahu 'Āyatan Lilnn ā si Wa Ra ĥmatan Minn ā ۚ Wa Kā na 'Am rā an Maq đīy 7an (Maryam : 21).
019.021 He said: "So (it will be): Thy Lord saith, 'that is easy for Me: and (We wish) to appoint him as a Sign unto men and a Mercy from Us':It is a matter (so) decreed."
قَ ا لَ كَذَلِكِ قَ ا لَ رَ بُّكِ هُوَ عَلَيَّ هَيِّنٌ ۖ وَلِنَجْ عَلَهُ آيَة ً لِلنّ َا سِ وَرَ حْمَةً مِنَّ ا ۚ وَكَا نَ أَمْراً مَقْ ضِ يّاً
Faĥamalat/hu Fān tabadh at Bihi Makānāan Q aş īy 7an (Maryam: 22).
019.022 So she conceived him, and she retired with him to a remote place.
فَحَمَلَتْهُ فَان تَبَذَتْ بِهِ مَكَاناً قَ صِ يّاً
Fa'ajā 'ahā A l-Makh ā đu 'Ilá Jidh `i A n -Nakh lati Q ālat Yā Laytanī Mittu Q ab la Hādh ā Wa Kun tu Nasy 7an Man sīy 7an (Maryam : 23).
019.023 And the pains of childbirth drove her to the trunk of a palm-tree: She cried (in her anguish): "Ah! would that I had died before this! would that I had been a thing forgotten and out of sight!"
فَأَجَا ءَهَا ا لْمَخَ ا ضُ إِلَى جِذْعِ ا ل نَّ خْ لَةِ قَ الَتْ يَالَيْتَنِي مِتُّ قَ بْ لَ هَذَا وَكُن تُ نَسْياً مَنْ سِيّاً
Fanādāhā Min Taĥtihā 'Allā Taĥzanī Q ad Ja`ala Ra bbuki Taĥtaki Sar īy 7an (Maryam : 24).
019.024 But (a voice) cried to her from beneath the (palm-tree): "Grieve not! for thy Lord hath provided a rivulet beneath thee;
فَنَادَاهَا مِن ْ تَحْتِهَا أَلاَّ تَحْزَنِي قَ دْ جَعَلَ رَ بُّكِ تَحْتَكِ سَرِ يّاً
Wa Huzzī 'Ilay ki Bijidh `i A n -Nakh lati Tusāq iţ `Alay ki Ru ţ abāan Janīy 7an (Maryam : 25).
019.025 "And shake towards thyself the trunk of the palm-tree: It will let fall fresh ripe dates upon thee.
وَهُزِّي إِلَيْ كِ بِجِذْعِ ا ل نَّ خْ لَةِ تُسَاقِ ط ْ عَلَيْ كِ رُطَ باً جَنِيّاً
Fakulī Wa A sh ra bī Wa Q arr ī `Aynāan ۖ Fa'imm ā Tara ynn a Mina A l-Bash ar i 'Aĥadāan Faq ūlī 'Inn ī Nadh artu Lilrra ĥmani Ş awmāan Falan 'Ukallima A l-Yaw ma 'In sīy 7an (Maryam : 26).
019.026 "So eat and drink and cool (thine) eye. And if thou dost see any man, say, 'I have vowed a fast to (God) Most Gracious, and this day will I enter into not talk with any human being'"
فَكُلِي وَا شْرَ بِي وَقَ رِّي عَيْناً ۖ فَإِمَّ ا تَرَ يْ نّ َ مِنَ ا لْبَشَرِ أَحَداً فَقُ ولِي إِنِّ ي نَذَرْتُ لِل رَّ حْمَنِ صَ وْماً فَلَن ْ أُكَلِّمَ ا لْيَوْ مَ إِن سِيّاً
Fa'atat Bihi Q awmahā Taĥmiluhu ۖ Q ālū Yā Maryamu Laq ad Ji'ti Sh ay'ā an Far īy 7an (Maryam : 27).
019.027 At length she brought the (babe) to her people, carrying him (in her arms). They said: "O Mary! truly an amazing thing hast thou brought!
فَأَتَتْ بِهِ قَ وْمَهَا تَحْمِلُهُ ۖ قَ الُوا يَامَرْيَمُ لَقَ دْ جِئْتِ شَيْ ئاً فَرِ يّاً
Yā 'Ukh ta Hārū na Mā Kā na 'Abū ki A m ra 'a Saw 'in Wa Mā Kānat 'Umm uki Bagh īy 7an (Maryam : 28).
019.028 "O sister of Aaron! Thy father was not a man of evil, nor thy mother a woman unchaste!"
يَا أُخْ تَ هَارُو نَ مَا كَا نَ أَبُو كِ ا مْرَ أَ سَوْ ءٍ وَمَا كَانَتْ أُمُّ كِ بَغِ يّاً
Fa'ash āra t 'Ilay hi ۖ Q ālū Kay fa Nukallimu Man Kā na Fī A l-Mahdi Ş abīy 7an (Maryam : 29).
019.029 But she pointed to the babe. They said: "How can we talk to one who is a child in the cradle?"
فَأَشَارَ تْ إِلَيْ هِ ۖ قَ الُوا كَيْ فَ نُكَلِّمُ مَن ْ كَا نَ فِي ا لْمَهْدِ صَ بِيّاً
Q ā la 'Inn ī `Ab du A ll āhi 'Ātāniya A l-Kitā ba Wa Ja`alanī Nabīy 7an (Maryam : 30).
019.030 He said: "I am indeed a servant of God: He hath given me revelation and made me a prophet;
قَ ا لَ إِنِّ ي عَبْ دُ ا للَّ هِ آتَانِيَ ا لْكِتَا بَ وَجَعَلَنِي نَبِيّاً
Wa Ja`alanī Mubāra kāan 'Ay na Mā Kun tu Wa 'Awş ānī Biş -Ş alāati Wa A z-Zakāati Mā Dum tu Ĥayy 7an (Maryam : 31).
019.031 "And He hath made me blessed wheresoever I be, and hath enjoined on me Prayer and Charity as long as I live;
وَجَعَلَنِي مُبَارَ كاً أَيْ نَ مَا كُن تُ وَأَوْصَ انِي بِا ل صَّ لاَةِ وَا ل زَّكَا ةِ مَا دُمْتُ حَيّاً
Wa Barrā an Biwālidatī Wa Lam Yaj `alnī Jabbārā an Sh aq īy 7an (Maryam : 32).
019.032 "(He) hath made me kind to my mother, and not overbearing or miserable;
وَبَرّاً بِوَالِدَتِي وَلَمْ يَجْ عَلْنِي جَبَّاراً شَقِ يّاً
Wa A s-Salā mu `Alay ya Yaw ma Wulid tu Wa Yaw ma 'Amū tu Wa Yaw ma 'Ub `ath u Ĥayy 7an (Maryam: 33).
019.033 "So peace is on me the day I was born, the day that I die, and the day that I shall be raised up to life (again)"!
وَالسَّلاَمُ عَلَيَّ يَوْ مَ وُلِدْ تُ وَيَوْ مَ أَمُو تُ وَيَوْ مَ أُبْ عَثُ حَيّاً
Dh ālika `Īsá A b nu Maryama ۚ Q aw la A l-Ĥaq q i A l-Ladh ī Fī hi Yam tarū na (Maryam : 34).
019.034 Such (was) Jesus the son of Mary: (it is) a statement of truth, about which they (vainly) dispute.
ذَلِكَ عِيسَى ا بْ نُ مَرْيَمَ ۚ قَ وْ لَ ا لْحَقِّ ا لَّذِي فِي هِ يَمْتَرُونَ
Mā Kā na Lill ā h 'An Yattakh idh a Min Waladin ۖ Sub ĥānahu ۚ 'Idh ā Q ađá 'Am rā an Fa'inn amā Yaq ū lu Lahu Kun Fayakū nu (Maryam : 35).
019.035 It is not befitting to (the majesty of) God that He should beget a son. Glory be to Him! when He determines a matter, He only says to it, "Be", and it is.
مَا كَا نَ لِلَّهِ أَن ْ يَتَّخِ ذَ مِن ْ وَلَدٍ ۖ سُبْ حَانَهُ ۚ إِذَا قَ ضَ ى أَمْراً فَإِنَّ مَا يَقُ و لُ لَهُ كُن ْ فَيَكُونُ
Wa 'Inn a A ll āha Ra bbī Wa Ra bbukum Fā`budū hu ۚ Hādh ā Ş irā ţ un Mustaq ī mun (Maryam : 36).
019.036 Verily God is my Lord and your Lord: Him therefore serve ye: this is a Way that is straight.
وَإِنّ َ ا للَّ هَ رَ بِّي وَرَ بُّكُمْ فَاعْبُدُو هُ ۚ هَذَا صِ رَ ا ط ٌ مُسْتَقِ يمٌ
Fākh talafa A l-'Aĥzā bu Min Baynihim ۖ Faway lun Lilladh ī na Kafarū Min Mash /hadi Yaw min `Ažī min (Maryam : 37).
019.037 But the sects differ among themselves: and woe to the unbelievers because of the (coming) Judgment of a Momentous Day!
فَاخْ تَلَفَ ا لأَحْزَا بُ مِن ْ بَيْنِهِمْ ۖ فَوَيْ ل ٌ لِلَّذِي نَ كَفَرُوا مِن ْ مَشْهَدِ يَوْ مٍ عَظِ يمٍ
'Asmi` Bihim Wa 'Ab ş ir Yaw ma Ya'tūnanā ۖ Lakini A ž-Ž ālimū na A l-Yaw ma Fī Đ alā lin Mubī nin (Maryam : 38).
019.038 How plainly will they see and hear, the Day that they will appear before Us! but the unjust today are in error manifest!
أَسْمِعْ بِهِمْ وَأَبْ صِ ر ْ يَوْ مَ يَأْتُونَنَا ۖ لَكِنِ ا ل ظَّ الِمُو نَ ا لْيَوْ مَ فِي ضَ لاَلٍ مُبِينٍ
Wa 'An dh ir hum Yaw ma A l-Ĥasra ti 'Idh Q uđiya A l-'Am ru Wa Hum Fī Gh aflatin Wa Hum Lā Yu'uminū na (Maryam : 39).
019.039 But warn them of the Day of Distress, when the matter will be determined: for (behold,) they are negligent and they do not believe!
وَأَن ذِرْ هُمْ يَوْ مَ ا لْحَسْرَ ةِ إِذْ قُ ضِ يَ ا لأَمْرُ وَهُمْ فِي غَ فْلَةٍ وَهُمْ لاَ يُؤْمِنُونَ
'Inn ā Naĥnu Nar ith u A l-'Arđa Wa Man `Alayhā Wa 'Ilaynā Yurja`ū na (Maryam : 40).
019.040 It is We Who will inherit the earth, and all beings thereon: to Us will they all be returned.
إِنَّ ا نَحْنُ نَرِ ثُ ا لأَرْضَ وَمَن ْ عَلَيْهَا وَإِلَيْنَا يُرْجَعُونَ
Wa A dh kur Fī A l-Kitā bi 'Ib rā hī ma ۚ 'Inn ahu Kā na Ş iddīq āan Nabīy 7an (Maryam : 41).
019.041 (Also mention in the Book (the story of) Abraham: He was a man of Truth, a prophet.
وَاذْكُرْ فِي ا لْكِتَا بِ إِبْ رَ اهِي مَ ۚ إِنَّ هُ كَا نَ صِ دِّيق اً نَبِيّاً
'Idh Q ā la Li'abī hi Yā 'Abati Lima Ta`budu Mā Lā Yasma`u Wa Lā Yub ş iru Wa Lā Yugh nī `An ka Sh ay'ā an (Maryam : 42).
019.042 Behold, he said to his father: "O my father! why worship that which heareth not and seeth not, and can profit thee nothing?
إِذْ قَ ا لَ لِأَبِي هِ يَا أَبَتِ لِمَ تَعْبُدُ مَا لاَ يَسْمَعُ وَلاَ يُبْ صِ ر ُوَلاَ يُغْ نِي عَنْ كَ شَيْ ئاً
Yā 'Abati 'Inn ī Q ad Jā 'anī Mina A l-`Ilmi Mā Lam Ya'tika Fa A ttabi`nī 'Ahdika Ş irā ţ āan Sawīy 7an (Maryam : 43).
019.043 "O my father! to me hath come knowledge which hath not reached thee: so follow me: I will guide thee to a way that is even and straight.
يَا أَبَتِ إِنِّ ي قَ دْ جَا ءَنِي مِنَ ا لْعِلْمِ مَا لَمْ يَأْتِكَ فَاتَّبِعْنِي أَهْدِكَ صِ رَ اط اً سَوِيّاً
Yā 'Abati Lā Ta`budi A sh -Sh ayţ ā na ۖ 'Inn a A sh -Sh ayţ ā na Kā na Lilrra ĥmani `Aş īy 7an (Maryam: 44).
019.044 "O my father! serve not Satan: for Satan is a rebel against (God) Most Gracious.
يَا أَبَتِ لاَ تَعْبُدِ ا ل شَّيْطَ ا نَ إِنّ َ ۖ ا ل شَّيْطَ ا نَ كَا نَ لِل رَّ حْمَنِ عَصِ يّاً
Yā 'Abati 'Inn ī 'Akh ā fu 'An Yamassaka `Adh ā bun Mina A r-Ra ĥmani Fatakū na Lilsh sh ayţ ā ni Walīy 7an (Maryam : 45).
019.045 "O my father! I fear lest a Penalty afflict thee from (God) Most Gracious, so that thou become to Satan a friend."
يَا أَبَتِ إِنِّ ي أَخَ ا فُ أَن ْ يَمَسَّكَ عَذَا بٌ مِنَ ا ل رَّ حْمَنِ فَتَكُو نَ لِلشَّيْطَ ا نِ وَلِيّاً
Q ā la 'Arā gh ibun 'An ta `An 'Ālihatī Yā 'Ib rā hī mu ۖ La'in Lam Tan tahi La'arjumann aka ۖ Wa A hjurnī Malīy 7an (Maryam : 46).
019.046 (The father) replied: "Dost thou hate my gods, O Abraham? If thou forbear not, I will indeed stone thee: Now get away from me for a good long while!"
قَ ا لَ أَرَ اغِ بٌ أَنْ تَ عَن ْ آلِهَتِي يَاإِبْ راهِي مُ ۖ لَئِن ْ لَمْ تَن تَهِ لَأَرْجُمَنَّ كَ ۖ وَا هْجُرْنِي مَلِيّاً
Q ā la Salā mun `Alay ka ۖ Sa'astagh fir u Laka Ra bbī ۖ 'Inn ahu Kā na Bī Ĥafīy 7an (Maryam : 47).
019.047 Abraham said: "Peace be on thee: I will pray to my Lord for thy forgiveness: for He is to me Most Gracious.
قَ ا لَ سَلاَمٌ عَلَيْ كَ ۖ سَأَسْتَغْ فِر ُلَكَ رَ بِّي ۖ إِنَّ هُ كَا نَ بِي حَفِيّاً
Wa 'A`tazilukum Wa Mā Tad `ū na Min Dū ni A ll ā hi Wa 'Ad `ū Ra bbī `Asá 'Allā 'Akū na Bidu`ā 'i Ra bbī Sh aq īy 7an (Maryam : 48).
019.048 "And I will turn away from you (all) and from those whom ye invoke besides God: I will call on my Lord: perhaps, by my prayer to my Lord, I shall be not unblest."
وَأَعْتَزِلُكُمْ وَمَا تَدْ عُو نَ مِن ْ دُو نِ ا للَّ هِ وَأَدْ عُو رَ بِّي عَسَى أَلاَّ أَكُو نَ بِدُعَا ءِ رَ بِّي شَقِ يّاً
Falamm ā A `tazalahum Wa Mā Ya`budū na Min Dū ni A ll ā hi Wahab nā Lahu 'Isĥā q a Wa Ya`q ū ba ۖ Wa Kullā Ja`alnā Nabīy 7an (Maryam : 49).
019.049 When he had turned away from them and from those whom they worshipped besides God, We bestowed on him Isaac and Jacob, and each one of them We made a prophet.
فَلَمَّ ا ا عْتَزَلَهُمْ وَمَا يَعْبُدُو نَ مِن ْ دُو نِ ا للَّ هِ وَهَبْ نَا لَهُ إِسْحَا قَ وَيَعْقُ و بَ ۖ وَكُلاَّ جَعَلْنَا نَبِيّاً
Wa Wahab nā Lahum Min Ra ĥmatinā Wa Ja`alnā Lahum Lisā na Ş id q in `Alīy 7an (Maryam : 50).
019.050 And We bestowed of Our Mercy on them, and We granted them lofty honour on the tongue of truth.
وَوَهَبْ نَا لَهُمْ مِن ْ رَ حْمَتِنَا وَجَعَلْنَا لَهُمْ لِسَا نَ صِ دْ قٍ عَلِيّاً
Wa A dh kur Fī A l-Kitā bi Mūsá ۚ 'Inn ahu Kā na Mukh laş āan Wa Kā na Ra sūlāan Nabīy 7an (Maryam : 51).
019.051 Also mention in the Book (the story of) Moses: for he was specially chosen, and he was an apostle (and) a prophet.
وَاذْكُرْ فِي ا لْكِتَا بِ مُوسَى ۚ إِنَّ هُ كَا نَ مُخْ لَص اً وَكَا نَ رَ سُولاً نَبِيّاً
Wa Nādaynā hu Min Jānibi A ţ -Ţ ū r i A l-'Aymani Wa Q arra b nā hu Najīy 7an (Maryam : 52).
019.052 And we called him from the right side of Mount (Sinai), and made him draw near to Us, for mystic (converse).
وَنَادَيْنَا هُ مِن ْ جَانِبِ ا ل طُّ و رِ ا لأَيْمَنِ وَقَ رَّ بْ نَا هُ نَجِيّاً
Wa Wahab nā Lahu Min Ra ĥmatinā 'Akh ā hu Hārū na Nabīy 7an (Maryam : 53).
019.053 And, out of Our Mercy, We gave him his brother Aaron, (also) a prophet.
وَوَهَبْ نَا لَهُ مِن ْ رَ حْمَتِنَا أَخَ ا هُ هَارُو نَ نَبِيّاً
Wa A dh kur Fī A l-Kitā bi 'Ismā`ī la ۚ 'Inn ahu Kā na Ş ādiq a A l-Wa`di Wa Kā na Ra sūlāan Nabīy 7an (Maryam : 54).
019.054 Also mention in the Book (the story of) Isma'il: He was (strictly) true to what he promised, and he was an apostle (and) a prophet.
وَاذْكُرْ فِي ا لْكِتَا بِ إِسْمَاعِي لَ ۚ إِنَّ هُ كَا نَ صَ ادِقَ ا لْوَعْدِ وَكَا نَ رَ سُولاً نَبِيّاً
Wa Kā na Ya'muru 'Ahlahu Biş -Ş alāati Wa A z-Zakāati Wa Kā na `In da Ra bbihi Marđīy 7an (Maryam: 55).
019.055 He used to enjoin on his people Prayer and Charity, and he was most acceptable in the sight of his Lord.
وَكَا نَ يَأْمُرُ أَهْلَهُ بِا ل صَّ لاَةِ وَا ل زَّكَا ةِ وَكَا نَ عِنْ دَ رَ بِّهِ مَرْضِ يّاً
Wa A dh kur Fī A l-Kitā bi 'Id r ī sa ۚ 'Inn ahu Kā na Ş iddīq āan Nabīy 7an (Maryam : 56).
019.056 Also mention in the Book the case of Idris: He was a man of truth (and sincerity), (and) a prophet:
وَاذْكُرْ فِي ا لْكِتَا بِ إِدْ ر ِي سَ ۚ إِنَّ هُ كَا نَ صِ دِّيق اً نَبِيّاً
Wa Ra fa`nā hu Makānāan `Alīy 7an (Maryam : 57).
019.057 And We raised him to a lofty station.
وَرَ فَعْنَا هُ مَكَاناً عَلِيّاً
'Ūlā 'ika A l-Ladh ī na 'An`ama A ll āhu `Alayhim Mina A n -Nabīyī na Min Dh urr īyati 'Ādama Wa Mimm an Ĥamalnā Ma`a Nūĥin Wa Min Dh urr īyati 'Ib rā hī ma Wa 'Isrā 'ī la Wa Mimm an Hadaynā Wa A j tabaynā ۚ 'Idh ā Tutlá `Alayhim 'Āyā tu A r-Ra ĥmani Kh arrū Sujjadāan Wa Bukīy 7an (Maryam : 58).
019.058 Those were some of the prophets on whom God did bestow His Grace,- of the posterity of Adam, and of those who We carried (in the Ark) with Noah, and of the posterity of Abraham and Israel of those whom We guided and chose. Whenever the Signs of (God) Most Gracious were rehearsed to them, they would fall down in prostrate adoration and in tears.
أُ وْلَا ئِكَ ا لَّذِي نَ أَنْ عَمَ ا للَّ هُ عَلَيْهِمْ مِنَ ا ل نَّ بِيِّي نَ مِن ْ ذُرِّيَّةِ آدَمَ وَمِمَّ ن ْ حَمَلْنَا مَعَ نُو حٍ وَمِن ْ ذُرِّيَّةِ إِبْ رَ اهِي مَ وَإِسْرَا ئِي لَ وَمِمَّ ن ْ هَدَيْنَا وَا جْ تَبَيْنَا ۚ إِذَا تُتْلَى عَلَيْهِمْ آيَا تُ ا ل رَّ حْمَنِ خَ رُّوا سُجَّداً وَبُكِيّاً
Fakh alafa Min Ba`dihim Kh alfun 'Ađā`ū A ş -Ş alāata Wa A ttaba`ū A sh -Sh ahawā ti ۖ Fasaw fa Yalq aw na Gh ayy 7an (Maryam : 59).
019.059 But after them there followed a posterity who missed prayers and followed after lusts soon, then, will they face Destruction,-
فَخَ لَفَ مِن ْ بَعْدِهِمْ خَ لْفٌ أَضَ اعُوا ا ل صَّ لاَةَ وَا تَّبَعُوا ا ل شَّهَوَا تِ ۖ فَسَوْ فَ يَلْقَ وْ نَ غَ يّاً
'Illā Man Tā ba Wa 'Āmana Wa `Amila Ş āliĥāan Fa'ūlā 'ika Yad kh ulū na A l-Jann ata Wa Lā Yužlamū na Sh ay'ā an (Maryam : 60).
019.060 Except those who repent and believe, and work righteousness: for these will enter the Garden and will not be wronged in the least,-
إِلاَّ مَن ْ تَا بَ وَآمَنَ وَعَمِلَ صَ الِحاً فَأُ وْلَا ئِكَ يَدْ خُ لُو نَ ا لْجَنَّ ةَ وَلاَ يُظْ لَمُو نَ شَيْ ئاً
Jann ā ti `Ad nin A llatī Wa`ada A r-Ra ĥmā nu `Ibādahu Bil-Gh ay bi ۚ 'Inn ahu Kā na Wa`duhu Ma'tīy 7an (Maryam : 61).
019.061 Gardens of Eternity, those which (God) Most Gracious has promised to His servants in the Unseen: for His promise must (necessarily) come to pass.
جَنّ َا تِ عَدْ نٍ ا لَّتِي وَعَدَ ا ل رَّ حْمَنُ عِبَادَهُ بِا لْغَ يْ بِ ۚ إِنَّ هُ كَا نَ وَعْدُهُ مَأْتِيّاً
Lā Yasma`ū na Fīhā Lagh wan 'Illā Salāmāan ۖ Wa Lahum R izq uhum Fīhā Bukra tan Wa `Ash īy 7an (Maryam : 62).
019.062 They will not there hear any vain discourse, but only salutations of Peace: And they will have therein their sustenance, morning and evening.
لاَ يَسْمَعُو نَ فِيهَا لَغْ واً إِلاَّ سَلاَماً ۖ وَلَهُمْ رِ زْقُ هُمْ فِيهَا بُكْرَ ةً وَعَشِيّاً
Tilka A l-Jann atu A llatī Nūr ith u Min `Ibādinā Man Kā na Taq īy 7an (Maryam : 63).
019.063 Such is the Garden which We give as an inheritance to those of Our servants who guard against Evil.
تِلْكَ ا لْجَنَّ ةُ ا لَّتِي نُورِ ثُ مِن ْ عِبَادِنَا مَن ْ كَا نَ تَقِ يّاً
Wa Mā Natanazzalu 'Illā Bi'am r i Ra bbika ۖ Lahu Mā Bay na 'Ayd 99nā Wa Mā Kh alfanā Wa Mā Bay na Dh ālika ۚ Wa Mā Kā na Ra bbuka Nasīy 7an (Maryam : 64).
019.064 (The angels say:) "We descend not but by command of thy Lord: to Him belongeth what is before us and what is behind us, and what is between: and thy Lord never doth forget,-
وَمَا نَتَنَزَّلُ إِلاَّ بِأَمْرِ رَ بِّكَ ۖ لَهُ مَا بَيْ نَ أَيْدِينَا وَمَا خَ لْفَنَا وَمَا بَيْ نَ ذَلِكَ ۚ وَمَا كَا نَ رَ بُّكَ نَسِيّاً
Ra bbu A s-Samāwā ti Wa A l-'Arđi Wa Mā Baynahumā Fā`bud /hu Wa A ş ţ abir Li`ibādatihi ۚ Hal Ta`lamu Lahu Samīy 7an (Maryam : 65).
019.065 "Lord of the heavens and of the earth, and of all that is between them; so worship Him, and be constant and patient in His worship: knowest thou of any who is worthy of the same Name as He?"
رَ بُّ ا ل سَّمَاوَا تِ وَا لأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا فَاعْبُدْ هُ وَا صْ طَ بِر ْ لِعِبَادَتِهِ ۚ هَلْ تَعْلَمُ لَهُ سَمِيّاً
Wa Yaq ū lu A l-'In sā nu 'A'idh ā Mā Mittu Lasaw fa 'Ukh ra ju Ĥayy 7an (Maryam: 66).
019.066 Man says: "What! When I am dead, shall I then be raised up alive?"
وَيَقُ و لُ ا لإِن سَا نُ أَئِذَا مَا مِتُّ لَسَوْ فَ أُخْ رَ جُ حَيّاً
'Awalā Yadh kuru A l-'In sā nu 'Ann ā Kh alaq nā hu Min Q ab lu Wa Lam Yaku Sh ay'ā an (Maryam : 67).
019.067 But does not man call to mind that We created him before out of nothing?
أَوَلاَ يَذْكُرُ ا لإِن سَا نُ أَنَّ ا خَ لَقْ نَا هُ مِن ْ قَ بْ لُ وَلَمْ يَكُ شَيْ ئاً
Fawara bbika Lanaĥsh ura nn ahum Wa A sh -Sh ayāţ ī na Th umm a Lanuĥđira nn ahum Ĥaw la Jahann ama Jith īy 7an (Maryam : 68).
019.068 So, by thy Lord, without doubt, We shall gather them together, and (also) the Evil Ones (with them); then shall We bring them forth on their knees round about Hell;
فَوَرَ بِّكَ لَنَحْشُرَ نَّ هُمْ وَا ل شَّيَاطِ ي نَ ثُمّ َ لَنُحْضِ رَ نَّ هُمْ حَوْ لَ جَهَنَّ مَ جِثِيّاً
Th umm a Lanan zi`ann a Min Kulli Sh ī`atin 'Ayyuhum 'Ash addu `Alá A r-Ra ĥmani `Itīy 7an (Maryam : 69).
019.069 Then shall We certainly drag out from every sect all those who were worst in obstinate rebellion against (God) Most Gracious.
ثُمّ َ لَنَن زِعَنّ َ مِن ْ كُلِّ شِيعَةٍ أَيُّهُمْ أَشَدُّ عَلَى ا ل رَّ حْمَنِ عِتِيّاً
Th umm a Lanaĥnu 'A`lamu Bial-Ladh ī na Hum 'Awlá Bihā Ş ilīy 7an (Maryam : 70).
019.070 And certainly We know best those who are most worthy of being burned therein.
ثُمّ َ لَنَحْنُ أَعْلَمُ بِا لَّذِي نَ هُمْ أَوْلَى بِهَا صِ لِيّاً
Wa 'In Min kum 'Illā Wa A r iduhā ۚ Kā na `Alá Ra bbika Ĥatmāan Maq đīy 7an (Maryam : 71).
019.071 Not one of you but will pass over it: this is, with thy Lord, a Decree which must be accomplished.
وَإِن ْ مِنْ كُمْ إِلاَّ وَا رِ دُهَا ۚ كَا نَ عَلَى رَ بِّكَ حَتْماً مَقْ ضِ يّاً
Th umm a Nunajjī A l-Ladh ī na A ttaq awā Wa Nadh aru A ž-Ž ālimī na Fīhā Jith īy 7an (Maryam : 72).
019.072 But We shall save those who guarded against evil, and We shall leave the wrong-doers therein, (humbled) to their knees.
ثُمّ َ نُنَجِّي ا لَّذِي نَ ا تَّقَ وْا وَنَذَرُ ا ل ظَّ الِمِي نَ فِيهَا جِثِيّاً
Wa 'Idh ā Tutlá `Alayhim 'Āyātunā Bayyinā tin Q ā la A l-Ladh ī na Kafarū Lilladh ī na 'Āmanū 'Ay yu A l-Far īq ay ni Kh ay ru n Maq āmāan Wa 'Aĥsanu Nadīy 7an (Maryam : 73).
019.073 When Our Clear Signs are rehearsed to them, the Unbelievers say to those who believe, "Which of the two sides is best in point of position? Which makes the best show in council?"
وَإِذَا تُتْلَى عَلَيْهِمْ آيَاتُنَا بَيِّنَا تٍ قَ ا لَ ا لَّذِي نَ كَفَرُوا لِلَّذِي نَ آمَنُو ا أَيُّ ا لْفَرِ يقَ يْ نِ خَ يْ رٌ مَقَ اماً وَأَحْسَنُ نَدِيّاً
Wa Kam 'Ahlaknā Q ab lahum Min Q arnin Hum 'Aĥsanu 'Ath āth āan Wa R i'y 7an (Maryam : 74).
019.074 But how many (countless) generations before them have we destroyed, who were even better in equipment and in glitter to the eye?
وَكَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا قَ بْ لَهُمْ مِن ْ قَ رْنٍ هُمْ أَحْسَنُ أَثَاثاً وَرِ ئْياً
Q ul Man Kā na Fī A đ-Đ alālati Falyam dud Lahu A r-Ra ĥmā nu Maddāan ۚ Ĥattá 'Idh ā Ra 'awā Mā Yū`adū na 'Imm ā A l-`Adh ā ba Wa 'Imm ā A s-Sā`ata Fasaya`lamū na Man Huwa Sh arru n Makānāan Wa 'Ađ`afu Jun dāan (Maryam : 75).
019.075 Say: "If any men go astray, (God) Most Gracious extends (the rope) to them, until, when they see the warning of God (being fulfilled) - either in punishment or in (the approach of) the Hour,- they will at length realise who is worst in position, and (who) weakest in forces!
قُ لْ مَن ْ كَا نَ فِي ا ل ضَّ لاَلَةِ فَلْيَمْدُدْ لَهُ ا ل رَّ حْمَنُ مَدّاً ۚ حَتَّى إِذَا رَ أَوْا مَا يُوعَدُو نَ إِمَّ ا ا لْعَذَا بَ وَإِمَّ ا ا ل سَّاعَةَ فَسَيَعْلَمُو نَ مَن ْ هُوَ شَرٌّ مَكَاناً وَأَضْ عَفُ جُن داً
Wa Yazī du A ll āhu A l-Ladh ī na A htadawā Hudan ۗ Wa A l-Bāq iyā tu A ş -Ş āliĥā tu Kh ay ru n `In da Ra bbika Th awābāan Wa Kh ay ru n Mara ddāan (Maryam : 76).
019.076 "And God doth advance in guidance those who seek guidance: and the things that endure, Good Deeds, are best in the sight of thy Lord, as rewards, and best in respect of (their) eventual return."
وَيَزِي دُ ا للَّ هُ ا لَّذِي نَ ا هْتَدَوْا هُد ىً ۗ وَا لْبَاقِ يَا تُ ا ل صَّ الِحَا تُ خَ يْ رٌ عِنْ دَ رَ بِّكَ ثَوَاباً وَخَ يْ رٌ مَرَ د ّاً
'Afara 'ay ta A l-Ladh ī Kafara Bi'ā yātinā Wa Q ā la La'ū tayann a Mālāan Wa Waladāan (Maryam: 77).
019.077 Hast thou then seen the (sort of) man who rejects Our Signs, yet says: "I shall certainly be given wealth and children?"
أَفَرَ أَيْ تَ ا لَّذِي كَفَرَ بِآيَاتِنَا وَقَ ا لَ لَأُ وتَيَنّ َ مَالاً وَوَلَداً
'Ā ţ ţ ala`a A l-Gh ay ba 'Am A ttakh adh a `In da A r-Ra ĥmani `Ahdāan (Maryam : 78).
019.078 Has he penetrated to the Unseen, or has he taken a contract with (God) Most Gracious?
أَا طَّ لَعَ ا لْغَ يْ بَ أَمْ ا تَّخَ ذَ عِنْ دَ ا ل رَّ حْمَنِ عَهْداً
Kallā ۚ Sanaktubu Mā Yaq ū lu Wa Namuddu Lahu Mina A l-`Adh ā bi Maddāan (Maryam : 79).
019.079 Nay! We shall record what he says, and We shall add and add to his punishment.
كَلاَّ ۚ سَنَكْتُبُ مَا يَقُ و لُ وَنَمُدُّ لَهُ مِنَ ا لْعَذَا بِ مَد ّاً
Wa Nar ith uhu Mā Yaq ū lu Wa Ya'tīnā Fardāan (Maryam : 80).
019.080 To Us shall return all that he talks of and he shall appear before Us bare and alone.
وَنَرِ ثُهُ مَا يَقُ و لُ وَيَأْتِينَا فَرْداً
Wa A ttakh adh ū Min Dū ni A ll ā hi 'Ālihatan Liyakūnū Lahum `Izzāan (Maryam : 81).
019.081 And they have taken (for worship) gods other than God, to give them power and glory!
وَاتَّخَ ذُوا مِن ْ دُو نِ ا للَّ هِ آلِهَة ً لِيَكُونُوا لَهُمْ عِزّاً
Kallā ۚ Sayakfurū na Bi`ibādatihim Wa Yakūnū na `Alayhim Đ iddāan (Maryam : 82).
019.082 Instead, they shall reject their worship, and become adversaries against them.
كَلاَّ ۚ سَيَكْفُرُو نَ بِعِبَادَتِهِمْ وَيَكُونُو نَ عَلَيْهِمْ ضِ د ّاً
'Alam Tara 'Ann ā 'Arsalnā A sh -Sh ayāţ ī na `Alá A l-Kāfir ī na Ta'uuzzuhum 'Azzāan (Maryam : 83).
019.083 Seest thou not that We have set the Evil Ones on against the unbelievers, to incite them with fury?
أَلَمْ تَرَ أَنَّ ا أَرْسَلْنَا ا ل شَّيَاطِ ي نَ عَلَى ا لْكَافِر ِي نَ تَؤُزُّهُمْ أَزّاً
Falā Ta`jal `Alayhim ۖ 'Inn amā Na`uddu Lahum `Addāan (Maryam : 84).
019.084 So make no haste against them, for We but count out to them a (limited) number (of days).
فَلاَ تَعْجَلْ عَلَيْهِمْ ۖ إِنَّ مَا نَعُدُّ لَهُمْ عَد ّاً
Yaw ma Naĥsh uru A l-Muttaq ī na 'Ilá A r-Ra ĥmani Wafdāan (Maryam : 85).
019.085 The day We shall gather the righteous to (God) Most Gracious, like a band presented before a king for honours,
يَوْ مَ نَحْشُرُ ا لْمُتَّقِ ي نَ إِلَى ا ل رَّ حْمَنِ وَفْداً
Wa Nasū q u A l-Muj r imī na 'Ilá Jahann ama Wir dāan (Maryam : 86).
019.086 And We shall drive the sinners to Hell, like thirsty cattle driven down to water,-
وَنَسُو قُ ا لْمُجْ رِ مِي نَ إِلَى جَهَنَّ مَ وِر ْداً
Lā Yam likū na A sh -Sh afā`ata 'Illā Mani A ttakh adh a `In da A r-Ra ĥmani `Ahdāan (Maryam : 87).
019.087 None shall have the power of intercession, but such a one as has received permission (or promise) from (God) Most Gracious.
لاَ يَمْلِكُو نَ ا ل شَّفَاعَةَ إِلاَّ مَنِ ا تَّخَ ذَ عِنْ دَ ا ل رَّ حْمَنِ عَهْداً
Wa Q ālū A ttakh adh a A r-Ra ĥmā nu Waladāan (Maryam: 88).
019.088 They say: "(God) Most Gracious has begotten a son!"
وَقَ الُوا ا تَّخَ ذَ ا ل رَّ حْمَنُ وَلَداً
Laq ad Ji'tum Sh ay'ā an 'Iddāan (Maryam : 89).
019.089 Indeed ye have put forth a thing most monstrous!
لَقَ دْ جِئْتُمْ شَيْ ئاً إِد ّاً
Takā du A s-Samāwā tu Yatafaţ ţ arna Minhu Wa Tan sh aq q u A l-'Arđu Wa Takh ir ru A l-Jibā lu Haddāan (Maryam : 90).
019.090 At it the skies are ready to burst, the earth to split asunder, and the mountains to fall down in utter ruin,
تَكَا دُ ا ل سَّمَاوَا تُ يَتَفَطَّ رْنَ مِنْ هُ وَتَن شَقُّ ا لأَرْضُ وَتَخِ ر ُّ ا لْجِبَا لُ هَد ّاً
'An Da`awā Lilrra ĥmani Waladāan (Maryam : 91).
019.091 That they should invoke a son for (God) Most Gracious.
أَن ْ دَعَوْا لِل رَّ حْمَنِ وَلَداً
Wa Mā Yan bagh ī Lilrra ĥmani 'An Yattakh idh a Waladāan (Maryam : 92).
019.092 For it is not consonant with the majesty of (God) Most Gracious that He should beget a son.
وَمَا يَنْ بَغِ ي لِل رَّ حْمَنِ أَن ْ يَتَّخِ ذَ وَلَداً
'In Kullu Man Fī A s-Samāwā ti Wa A l-'Arđi 'Illā 'Ātī A r-Ra ĥmani `Ab dāan (Maryam : 93).
019.093 Not one of the beings in the heavens and the earth but must come to (God) Most Gracious as a servant.
إِن ْ كُلُّ مَن ْ فِي ا ل سَّمَاوَا تِ وَا لأَرْضِ إِلاَّ آتِي ا ل رَّ حْمَنِ عَبْ داً
Laq ad 'Aĥş āhum Wa `Addahum `Addāan (Maryam : 94).
019.094 He does take an account of them (all), and hath numbered them (all) exactly.
لَقَ دْ أَحْصَ اهُمْ وَعَدَّهُمْ عَد ّاً
Wa Kulluhum 'Ātī hi Yaw ma A l-Q iyāmati Fardāan (Maryam : 95).
019.095 And everyone of them will come to Him singly on the Day of Judgment.
وَكُلُّهُمْ آتِي هِ يَوْ مَ ا لْقِ يَامَةِ فَرْداً
'Inn a A l-Ladh ī na 'Āmanū Wa `Amilū A ş -Ş āliĥā ti Sayaj`a lu Lahumu A r-Ra ĥmā nu Wuddāan (Maryam : 96).
019.096 On those who believe and work deeds of righteousness, will (God) Most Gracious bestow love.
إِنّ َ ا لَّذِي نَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا ا ل صَّ الِحَا تِ سَيَجْ عَلُ لَهُمُ ا ل رَّ حْمَنُ وُد ّاً
Fa'inn amā Yassarnā hu Bilisānika Litubash sh ir a Bihi A l-Muttaq ī na Wa Tun dh ir a Bihi Q awmāan Luddāan (Maryam : 97).
019.097 So have We made the (Qur'an) easy in thine own tongue, that with it thou mayest give Glad Tidings to the righteous, and warnings to people given to contention.
فَإِنَّ مَا يَسَّرْنَا هُ بِلِسَانِكَ لِتُبَشِّرَ بِهِ ا لْمُتَّقِ ي نَ وَتُن ذِرَ بِهِ قَ وْماً لُد ّاً
Wa Kam 'Ahlaknā Q ab lahum Min Q arnin Hal Tuĥissu Minhum Min 'Aĥadin 'Aw Tasma`u Lahum R ikzāan (Maryam : 98).
019.098 But how many (countless) generations before them have We destroyed? Canst thou find a single one of them (now) or hear (so much as) a whisper of them?
وَكَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا قَ بْ لَهُمْ مِن ْ قَ رْنٍ هَلْ تُحِسُّ مِنْ هُمْ مِن ْ أَحَدٍ أَوْ تَسْمَعُ لَهُمْ رِ كْزاً
