'Innā 'Anzalnāhu Qur'ānāan `Aray7an La`allakum Ta`qilūna (Yūsuf: 2). 012.002 We have sent it down as an Arabic Qur'an, in order that ye may learn wisdom. إِنَّ‍‍ا أَ‌ن‍‍زَلْن‍‍َاهُ قُ‍‍رْ‌آناً‌ عَ‍رَبِيّاً لَعَلَّكُمْ تَعْ‍‍قِ‍‍لُونَ
Naĥnu Naquşşu `Alayka 'Aĥsana Al-Qaşaşi Bimā 'Awĥaynā 'Ilayka Hādhā Al-Qur'āna Wa 'In Kunta Min Qablihi Lamina Al-Ghāfilīna (Yūsuf: 3). 012.003 We do relate unto thee the most beautiful of stories, in that We reveal to thee this (portion of the) Qur'an: before this, thou too was among those who knew it not. نَحْنُ نَ‍‍‍‍قُ‍‍صُّ عَلَ‍‍يْ‍‍كَ ‌أَحْسَنَ ‌الْ‍‍قَ‍‍صَ‍‍صِ بِمَ‍‍ا أَ‌وْحَيْنَ‍‍ا إِلَ‍‍يْ‍‍كَ هَذَ‌ا‌ ‌الْ‍‍قُ‍‍رْ‌آنَ ‌وَ‌إِ‌ن‌ْ كُ‍‌‍ن‍‍تَ مِ‍‌‍ن‌ْ قَ‍‍بْ‍‍لِهِ لَمِنَ ‌الْ‍‍غَ‍‍افِلِينَ
'Idh Qāla Yūsufu Li'abīhi Yā 'Abati 'Innī Ra'aytu 'Aĥada `Ashara Kawkabāan Wa Ash-Shamsa Wa Al-Qamara Ra'aytuhum Lī Sājidīna (Yūsuf: 4). 012.004 Behold! Joseph said to his father: "O my father! I did see eleven stars and the sun and the moon: I saw them prostrate themselves to me!" إِ‌ذْ‌ قَ‍الَ يُوسُفُ لِأَب‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍هِ ي‍‍َا‌أَبَتِ ‌إِنِّ‍‍ي ‌‍رَ‌أَيْ‍‍تُ ‌أَحَدَ‌ عَشَ‍رَ‌ كَوْكَباً ‌وَ‌ال‍‍شَّمْسَ ‌وَ‌الْ‍‍قَ‍‍مَ‍رَرَ‌أَيْتُهُمْ لِي سَاجِدِينَ
Qāla Yā Bunayya Lā Taqşuş Ru'uyā Ka `Alá 'Ikhwatika Fayakīdū Laka ۖ Kaydāan 'Inna Ash-Shayţāna Lil'insāni `Adūwun Mubīnun (Yūsuf: 5). 012.005 Said (the father): "My (dear) little son! relate not thy vision to thy brothers, lest they concoct a plot against thee: for Satan is to man an avowed enemy! قَ‍الَ يَابُنَيَّ لاَ‌ تَ‍‍قْ‍‍‍‍‍‍صُ‍‍صْ ‌رُ‌ؤْي‍‍َاكَ عَلَ‍‍ى إِخْ‍‍وَتِكَ فَيَكِيدُ‌وا لَكَ كَيْد‌اً ۖ ‌إِنّ‌َ ‌ال‍‍شَّيْ‍‍طَ‍انَ لِلإِ‌ن‍‍س‍‍َانِ عَدُ‌وٌّ مُبِينٌ
Wa Kadhalika Yajtabīka Rabbuka Wa Yu`allimuka Min Ta'w9li Al-'Aĥādīthi Wa Yutimmu Ni`matahu `Alayka Wa `Alá 'Āli Ya`qūba Kamā 'Atammahā `Alá 'Abawayka Min Qablu 'Ibhīma Wa 'Isĥāqa ۚ 'Inna Rabbaka `Alīmun Ĥakīmun (Yūsuf: 6). 012.006 "Thus will thy Lord choose thee and teach thee the interpretation of stories (and events) and perfect His favour to thee and to the posterity of Jacob - even as He perfected it to thy fathers Abraham and Isaac aforetime! for God is full of knowledge and wisdom." وَكَذَلِكَ يَ‍‍جْ‍‍تَب‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍كَ ‌‍‍‍رَبُّكَ ‌وَيُعَلِّمُكَ مِ‍‌‍ن‌ْ تَأْ‌و‍ِ‍ي‍‍لِ ‌الأَحَا‌د‍ِ‍ي‍‍ثِ ‌وَيُتِ‍‍مُّ نِعْمَتَهُ عَلَ‍‍يْ‍‍كَ ‌وَعَلَ‍‍ى آلِ يَعْ‍‍قُ‍‍وبَ كَمَ‍‍ا أَتَ‍‍مَّ‍‍هَا‌ عَلَ‍‍ى أَبَوَيْ‍‍كَ مِ‍‌‍ن‌ْ قَ‍‍بْ‍‍لُ ‌إِبْ‍‍‍رَ‌اه‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍مَ ‌وَ‌إِسْح‍‍َاقَ ۚ ‌إِنّ‌َ ‌‍رَبَّكَ عَل‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍مٌ حَكِيمٌ
Laqad Kāna Fī Yūsufa Wa 'Ikhwatihi 'Āyātun Lilssā'ilīna (Yūsuf: 7). 012.007 Verily in Joseph and his brethren are signs (or symbols) for seekers (after Truth). لَ‍‍قَ‍‍دْ‌ ك‍‍َانَ فِي يُوسُفَ ‌وَ‌إِخْ‍‍وَتِهِ ‌آي‍‍َات ٌ لِلسّ‍‍َائِلِينَ
'Idh Qālū Layūsufu Wa 'Akhūhu 'Aĥabbu 'Ilá 'Abīnā Minnā Wa Naĥnu `Uşbatun 'Inna 'Abānā Lafī Đalālin Mubīnin (Yūsuf: 8). 012.008 They said: "Truly Joseph and his brother are loved more by our father than we: But we are a goodly body! really our father is obviously wandering (in his mind)! إِ‌ذْ‌ قَ‍‍الُوا لَيُوسُفُ ‌وَ‌أَ‍خُ‍‍وهُ ‌أَحَبُّ ‌إِلَ‍‍ى أَبِينَا‌ مِ‍‍نَّ‍‍ا وَنَحْنُ عُ‍‍صْ‍‍بَةٌ ‌إِنّ‌َ ‌أَبَانَا‌ لَفِي ضَ‍‍لاَلٍ مُبِينٍ
Aqtulū Yūsufa 'Awi Aţraĥūhu 'Arđāan Yakhlu Lakum Wajhu 'Abīkum Wa Takūnū Min Ba`dihi Qawmāan Şāliĥīna (Yūsuf: 9). 012.009 "Slay ye Joseph or cast him out to some (unknown) land, that so the favour of your father may be given to you alone: (there will be time enough) for you to be righteous after that!" ا‍‍‍‍قْ‍‍‍‍تُلُوا يُوسُفَ ‌أَ‌وِ‌ ‌ا‍طْ‍‍‍‍‍رَح‍‍ُ‍وهُ ‌أَ‌رْض‍‍اً يَ‍‍خْ‍‍لُ لَكُمْ ‌وَجْ‍‍هُ ‌أَبِيكُمْ ‌وَتَكُونُوا مِ‍‌‍ن‌ْ بَعْدِهِ قَ‍‍وْماً صَ‍‍الِحِينَ
Qāla Qā'ilun Minhum Lā Taqtulū Yūsufa Wa 'Alqūhu Fī Ghayābati Al-Jubbi Yaltaqiţhu Ba`đu As-Sayyārati 'In Kuntum Fā`ilīna (Yūsuf: 10). 012.010 Said one of them: "Slay not Joseph, but if ye must do something, throw him down to the bottom of the well: he will be picked up by some caravan of travellers." قَ‍الَ قَ‍‍ائِلٌ مِ‍‌‍نْ‍‍هُمْ لاَ‌ تَ‍‍قْ‍‍‍‍تُلُوا يُوسُفَ ‌وَ‌أَلْ‍‍قُ‍‍وهُ فِي غَ‍‍يَابَتِ ‌الْجُبِّ يَلْتَ‍‍قِ‍‍طْ‍‍‍‍هُ بَعْ‍‍ضُ ‌ال‍‍سَّيَّا‌‍رَةِ ‌إِ‌ن‌ْ كُ‍‌‍ن‍‍تُمْ فَاعِلِينَ
Qālū Yā 'Abānā Mā Laka Lā Ta'mannā `Alá Yūsufa Wa 'Innā Lahu Lanāşūna (Yūsuf: 11). 012.011 They said: "O our father! why dost thou not trust us with Joseph,- seeing we are indeed his sincere well-wishers? قَ‍‍الُوا ي‍‍َا‌أَبَانَا‌ مَا‌ لَكَ لاَ‌ تَأْمَ‍‍نَّ‍‍ا‌ عَلَى‌ يُوسُفَ ‌وَ‌إِنَّ‍‍ا‌ لَهُ لَنَاصِ‍‍حُونَ
'Arsilhu Ma`anā Ghadāan Yarta` Wa Yal`ab Wa 'Innā Lahu Laĥāfižūna (Yūsuf: 12). 012.012 "Send him with us tomorrow to enjoy himself and play, and we shall take every care of him." أَ‌رْسِلْهُ مَعَنَا‌ غَ‍‍د‌اً يَرْتَعْ ‌وَيَلْعَ‍‍ب‌ْ ‌وَ‌إِنَّ‍‍ا‌ لَهُ لَحَافِ‍‍ظُ‍‍ونَ
Qāla 'Innī Layaĥzununī 'An Tadh/habū Bihi Wa 'Akhāfu 'An Ya'kulahu Adh-Dhi'bu Wa 'Antum `Anhu Ghāfilūna (Yūsuf: 13). 012.013 (Jacob) said: "Really it saddens me that ye should take him away: I fear lest the wolf should devour him while ye attend not to him." قَ‍الَ ‌إِنِّ‍‍ي لَيَحْزُنُنِ‍‍ي ‌أَ‌ن‌ْ تَذْهَبُوا بِهِ ‌وَ‌أَ‍خَ‍افُ ‌أَ‌ن‌ْ يَأْكُلَهُ ‌ال‍‍ذِّئْبُ ‌وَ‌أَ‌نْ‍‍تُمْ عَ‍‌‍نْ‍‍هُ غَ‍‍افِلُونَ
Qālū La'in 'Akalahu Adh-Dhi'bu Wa Naĥnu `Uşbatun 'Innā 'Idhāan Lakhāsirūna (Yūsuf: 14). 012.014 They said: "If the wolf were to devour him while we are (so large) a party, then should we indeed (first) have perished ourselves!" قَ‍‍الُوا لَئِ‍‌‍ن‌ْ ‌أَكَلَهُ ‌ال‍‍ذِّئْبُ ‌وَنَحْنُ عُ‍‍صْ‍‍بَةٌ ‌إِنَّ‍‍ا إِ‌ذ‌اً لَ‍‍خَ‍‍اسِرُ‌ونَ
Falammā Dhahabū Bihi Wa 'Ajma`ū 'An Yaj`alūhu Fī Ghayābati Al-Jubbi ۚ Wa 'Awĥaynā 'Ilayhi Latunabbi'annahum Bi'amrihimdhā Wa Hum Lā Yash`urūna (Yūsuf: 15). 012.015 So they did take him away, and they all agreed to throw him down to the bottom of the well: and We put into his heart (this Message): 'Of a surety thou shalt (one day) tell them the truth of this their affair while they know (thee) not' فَلَ‍‍مَّ‍‍ا ذَهَبُوا بِهِ ‌وَ‌أَجْ‍‍مَعُ‍‍وا ‌أَ‌ن‌ْ يَ‍‍جْ‍‍عَل‍‍ُ‍وهُ فِي غَ‍‍يَابَتِ ‌الْجُبِّ ۚ ‌وَ‌أَ‌وْحَيْنَ‍‍ا إِلَ‍‍يْ‍‍هِ لَتُنَبِّئَ‍‍نَّ‍‍هُمْ بِأَمْ‍‍رِهِمْ هَذَ‌ا وَهُمْ لاَ‌ يَشْعُرُ‌ونَ
Wa Jā'ū 'Abāhum `Ishā'an Yabkūna (Yūsuf: 16). 012.016 Then they came to their father in the early part of the night, weeping. وَج‍‍َا‌ءُ‌وا ‌أَبَاهُمْ عِش‍‍َا‌ءً يَ‍‍بْ‍‍كُونَ
Qālū Yā 'Abānā 'Innā Dhahabnā Nastabiqu Wa Taraknā Yūsufa `Inda Matā`inā Fa'akalahu Adh-Dhi'bu ۖ Wa Mā 'Anta Bimu'uminin Lanā Wa Law Kunnā Şādiqīna (Yūsuf: 17). 012.017 They said: "O our father! We went racing with one another, and left Joseph with our things; and the wolf devoured him.... But thou wilt never believe us even though we tell the truth." قَ‍‍الُوا يَ‍‍ا أَبَانَ‍‍ا إِنَّ‍‍ا ذَهَ‍‍بْ‍‍نَا‌ نَسْتَبِ‍‍قُ ‌وَتَ‍رَكْنَا‌ يُوسُفَ عِ‍‌‍نْ‍‍دَ‌ مَتَاعِنَا‌ فَأَكَلَهُ ‌ال‍‍ذِّئْبُ ۖ ‌وَمَ‍‍ا أَ‌نْ‍‍تَ بِمُؤْمِنٍ لَنَا وَلَوْ‌ كُ‍‍نَّ‍‍ا‌ صَ‍‍ا‌دِ‍قِ‍‍ينَ
Wa Jā'ū `Alá Qamīşihi Bidamin Kadhibin ۚ Qāla Bal Sawwalat Lakum 'Anfusukum 'Aman ۖ Faşabrun Jamīlun ۖ Wa Allāhu Al-Musta`ānu `Alá Mā Taşifūna (Yūsuf: 18). 012.018 They stained his shirt with false blood. He said: "Nay, but your minds have made up a tale (that may pass) with you, (for me) patience is most fitting: Against that which ye assert, it is God (alone) Whose help can be sought".. وَج‍‍َا‌ء‍ُ‍‌و‌ا‌ عَلَى‌ قَ‍‍مِي‍‍صِ‍‍هِ بِدَمٍ كَذِبٍ ۚ قَ‍الَ بَلْ سَوَّلَتْ لَكُمْ ‌أَ‌ن‍‍فُسُكُمْ ‌أَمْر‌اً ۖ فَ‍‍صَ‍‍بْ‍‍رٌ جَم‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍لٌ ۖ ‌وَ‌اللَّهُ ‌الْمُسْتَع‍‍َانُ عَلَى‌ مَا‌ تَ‍‍صِ‍‍فُونَ
Wa Jā'at Sayyāratun Fa'arsalū Wa Aridahum Fa'adlá Dalwahu ۖ Qāla Yā Bushrá Hādhā Ghulāmun ۚ Wa 'Asarrūhu Biđā`atan ۚ Wa Allāhu `Alīmun Bimā Ya`malūna (Yūsuf: 19). 012.019 Then there came a caravan of travellers: they sent their water-carrier (for water), and he let down his bucket (into the well)...He said: "Ah there! Good news! Here is a (fine) young man!" So they concealed him as a treasure! But God knoweth well all that they do! وَج‍‍َا‌ءَتْ سَيَّا‌‍‍‍رَةٌ فَأَ‌رْسَلُوا ‌وَ‌ا‌رِ‌دَهُمْ فَأَ‌دْلَى دَلْوَهُ ۖ قَ‍الَ يَا‌ بُشْ‍رَ‌ى‌ هَذَ‌ا‌ غُ‍‍لاَمٌ ۚ ‌وَ‌أَسَرّ‍ُ‍‌وهُ بِ‍‍ضَ‍‍اعَةً ۚ ‌وَ‌اللَّهُ عَل‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍م‌‍ٌ بِمَا‌ يَعْمَلُونَ
Wa Sharawhu Bithamanin Bakhsin Dahima Ma`dūdatin Wa Kānū Fīhi Mina Az-Zāhidīna (Yūsuf: 20). 012.020 The (Brethren) sold him for a miserable price, for a few dirhams counted out: in such low estimation did they hold him! وَشَ‍‍‍رَ‌وْهُ بِثَمَنٍ بَ‍‍خْ‍‍سٍ ‌دَ‌‍رَ‌اهِمَ مَعْدُ‌و‌دَةٍ ‌وَكَانُوا ف‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍هِ مِنَ ‌ال‍‍زَّ‌اهِدِينَ
Wa Qāla Al-Ladhī Ashtarāhu Min Mişra Li'imra'atihi 'Akrimī Mathwāhu `Asá 'An Yanfa`anā 'Aw Nattakhidhahu Waladāan ۚ Wa Kadhalika Makkannā Liyūsufa Fī Al-'Arđi Wa Linu`allimahu Min Ta'w9li Al-'Aĥādīthi ۚ Wa Allāhu Ghālibun `Alá 'Amrihi Wa Lakinna 'Akthara An-Nāsi Lā Ya`lamūna (Yūsuf: 21). 012.021 The man in Egypt who bought him, said to his wife: "Make his stay (among us) honourable: may be he will bring us much good, or we shall adopt him as a son." Thus did We establish Joseph in the land, that We might teach him the interpretation of stories (and events). And God hath full power and control over His affairs; but most among mankind know it not. وَ‍‍قَ‍الَ ‌الَّذِي ‌اشْتَ‍رَ‍‌اهُ مِ‍‌‍ن‌ْ مِ‍‍صْ‍رَ‌ لِإمْ‍رَ‌أَتِهِ ‌أَكْ‍‍رِمِي مَثْو‍َ‍‌اهُ عَسَ‍‍ى أَ‌ن‌ْ يَ‍‌‍ن‍‍فَعَنَ‍‍ا أَ‌وْ‌ نَتَّ‍‍خِ‍‍ذَهُ ‌وَلَد‌اً ۚ ‌وَكَذَلِكَ مَكَّ‍‍نَّ‍‍ا‌ لِيُوسُفَ فِي ‌الأَ‌رْضِ ‌وَلِنُعَلِّمَهُ مِ‍‌‍ن‌ْ تَأْ‌و‍ِ‍ي‍‍لِ ‌الأَحَا‌د‍ِ‍ي‍‍ثِ ۚ ‌وَ‌اللَّهُ غَ‍‍الِبٌ عَلَ‍‍ى أَمْ‍‍رِهِ ‌وَلَكِ‍‍نّ‌َ ‌أَكْثَ‍رَ‌ال‍‍نّ‍‍َاسِ لاَ‌ يَعْلَمُونَ
Wa Lammā Balagha 'Ashuddahu 'Ātaynāhu Ĥukmāan Wa `Ilmāan ۚ Wa Kadhalika Naj Al-Muĥsinīna (Yūsuf: 22). 012.022 When Joseph attained His full manhood, We gave him power and knowledge: thus do We reward those who do right. وَلَ‍‍مَّ‍‍ا‌ بَلَ‍‍‍‍غَ ‌أَشُدَّهُ ‌آتَيْن‍‍َاهُ حُكْماً ‌وَعِلْماً ۚ ‌وَكَذَلِكَ نَ‍‍جْ‍‍زِي ‌الْمُحْسِنِينَ
Wa wadat/hu Allatī Huwa Fī Baytihā `An Nafsihi Wa Ghallaqati Al-'Abwāba Wa Qālat Hayta Laka ۚ Qāla Ma`ādha Allāhi ۖ 'Innahu Rabbī 'Aĥsana Mathwāya ۖ 'Innahu Lā Yufliĥu Až-Žālimūna (Yūsuf: 23). 012.023 But she in whose house he was, sought to seduce him from his (true) self: she fastened the doors, and said: "Now come, thou (dear one)!" He said: "God forbid! truly (thy husband) is my lord! he made my sojourn agreeable! truly to no good come those who do wrong!" وَ‌‍‍‍رَ‌ا‌وَ‌دَتْهُ ‌الَّتِي هُوَ‌ فِي بَيْتِهَا‌ عَ‍‌‍ن‌ْ نَفْسِهِ ‌وَغَ‍‍لَّ‍‍قَ‍‍تِ ‌الأَبْ‍‍و‍َ‍‌ابَ ‌وَقَ‍‍الَتْ هَ‍‍يْ‍‍تَ لَكَ ۚ قَ‍الَ مَع‍‍َا‌ذَ ‌اللَّ‍‍هِ ۖ ‌إِنَّ‍‍هُ ‌‍رَبِّ‍‍ي ‌أَحْسَنَ مَثْو‍َ‍‌ايَ ۖ ‌إِنَّ‍‍هُ لاَ‌ يُفْلِحُ ‌ال‍‍ظَّ‍‍الِمُونَ
Wa Laqad Hammat Bihi ۖ Wa Hamma Bihā Lawlā 'An Ra'á Burhāna Rabbihi ۚ Kadhālika Linaşrifa `Anhu As-Sū'a Wa Al-Faĥshā'a ۚ 'Innahu Min `Ibādinā Al-Mukhlaşīna (Yūsuf: 24). 012.024 And (with passion) did she desire him, and he would have desired her, but that he saw the evidence of his Lord: thus (did We order) that We might turn away from him (all) evil and shameful deeds: for he was one of Our servants, sincere and purified. وَلَ‍‍قَ‍‍دْ‌ هَ‍‍مَّ‍‍تْ بِهِ ۖ ‌وَهَ‍‍مّ‌َ بِهَا‌ لَوْلاَ أَ‌ن‌ْ ‌‍رَ‌أَ‌ى‌ بُرْه‍‍َانَ ‌‍رَبِّهِ ۚ كَذَلِكَ لِنَ‍‍صْ‍‍رِفَ عَ‍‌‍نْ‍‍هُ ‌ال‍‍سّ‍‍ُ‍و‌ءَ وَ‌الْفَحْش‍‍َا‌ءَ ۚ ‌إِنَّ‍‍هُ مِ‍‌‍ن‌ْ عِبَا‌دِنَا‌ ‌الْمُ‍‍خْ‍‍لَ‍‍صِ‍‍ينَ
Wa Astabaqā Al-Bāba Wa Qaddat Qamīşahu Min Duburin Wa 'Alfayā Sayyidahā Ladá Al-Bābi ۚ Qālat Mā Jazā'u Man 'Arāda Bi'ahlika Sū'āan 'Illā 'An Yusjana 'Aw `Adhābun 'Alīmun (Yūsuf: 25). 012.025 So they both raced each other to the door, and she tore his shirt from the back: they both found her lord near the door. She said: "What is the (fitting) punishment for one who formed an evil design against thy wife, but prison or a grievous chastisement?" وَ‌اسْتَبَ‍‍‍‍قَ‍‍ا‌ ‌الْب‍‍َابَ ‌وَقَ‍‍دَّتْ قَ‍‍مِي‍‍صَ‍‍هُ مِ‍‌‍ن‌ْ ‌دُبُر‌ٍ ‌وَ‌أَلْفَيَا‌ سَيِّدَهَا‌ لَدَ‌ى‌ ‌الْب‍‍َابِ ۚ قَ‍‍الَتْ مَا‌ جَز‍َ‌اءُ‌ مَ‍‌‍ن‌ْ ‌أَ‌رَ‌ادَ‌ بِأَهْلِكَ س‍‍ُ‍و‌ء‌اً ‌إِلاَّ أَ‌ن‌ْ يُسْجَنَ ‌أَ‌وْ‌ عَذ‍َ‍‌ابٌ ‌أَلِيمٌ
Qāla Hiya wadatnī `An Nafsī ۚ Wa Shahida Shāhidun Min 'Ahlihā 'In Kāna Qamīşuhu Qudda Min Qubulin Faşadaqat Wa Huwa Mina Al-Kādhibīna (Yūsuf: 26). 012.026 He said: "It was she that sought to seduce me - from my (true) self." And one of her household saw (this) and bore witness, (thus):- "If it be that his shirt is rent from the front, then is her tale true, and he is a liar! قَ‍الَ هِيَ ‌‍رَ‌ا‌وَ‌دَتْنِي عَ‍‌‍ن‌ْ نَفْسِي ۚ ‌وَشَهِدَ‌ شَاهِدٌ مِ‍‌‍ن‌ْ ‌أَهْلِهَ‍‍ا إِ‌ن‌ْ ك‍‍َانَ قَ‍‍مِي‍‍صُ‍‍هُ قُ‍‍دَّ‌ مِ‍‌‍ن‌ْ قُ‍‍بُلٍ فَ‍‍صَ‍‍دَقَ‍‍تْ ‌وَهُوَ‌ مِنَ ‌الْكَا‌ذِبِينَ
Wa 'In Kāna Qamīşuhu Qudda Min Duburin Fakadhabat Wa Huwa Mina Aş-Şādiqīna (Yūsuf: 27). 012.027 "But if it be that his shirt is torn from the back, then is she the liar, and he is telling the truth!" وَ‌إِ‌ن‌ْ ك‍‍َانَ قَ‍‍مِي‍‍صُ‍‍هُ قُ‍‍دَّ‌ مِ‍‌‍ن‌ْ ‌دُبُر‌‌ٍ فَكَذَبَتْ ‌وَهُوَ‌ مِنَ ‌ال‍‍صَّ‍‍ا‌دِ‍قِ‍‍ينَ
Falammā Ra'á Qamīşahu Qudda Min Duburin Qāla 'Innahu Min Kaydikunna ۖ 'Inna Kaydakunna `Ažīmun (Yūsuf: 28). 012.028 So when he saw his shirt,- that it was torn at the back,- (her husband) said: "Behold! It is a snare of you women! truly, mighty is your snare! فَلَ‍‍مَّ‍‍ا ‍‍‍رَ‌أَ‌ى‌ قَ‍‍مِي‍‍صَ‍‍هُ قُ‍‍دَّ‌ مِ‍‌‍ن‌ْ ‌دُبُر‌‌ٍ قَ‍الَ ‌إِنَّ‍‍هُ مِ‍‌‍ن‌ْ كَيْدِكُ‍‍نّ‌َ ۖ ‌إِنّ‌َ كَيْدَكُ‍‍نَّ عَ‍‍ظِ‍‍يمٌ
Yūsufu 'A`riđ `An Hādhā ۚ Wa Astaghfirī Lidhanbiki ۖ 'Innaki Kunti Mina Al-Khāţi'īna (Yūsuf: 29). 012.029 "O Joseph, pass this over! (O wife), ask forgiveness for thy sin, for truly thou hast been at fault!" يُوسُفُ ‌أَعْ‍‍رِ‍‍‍‍ضْ عَ‍‌‍ن‌ْ هَذَ‌ا‌ ۚ ‌وَ‌اسْتَ‍‍غْ‍‍فِ‍‍رِي لِذَ‌نْ‍‍بِكِ ۖ ‌إِنَّ‍‍كِ كُ‍‌‍ن‍‍تِ مِنَ ‌الْ‍‍خَ‍‍اطِ‍‍ئ‍‍ِ‍‍ينَ
Wa Qāla Niswatun Al-Madīnati Amra'atu Al-`Azīzi Tuwidu Fatāhā `An Nafsihi ۖ Qad Shaghafahā Ĥubbāan ۖ 'Innā Lanahā Fī Đalālin Mubīnin (Yūsuf: 30). 012.030 Ladies said in the City: "The wife of the (great) 'Aziz is seeking to seduce her slave from his (true) self: Truly hath he inspired her with violent love: we see she is evidently going astray." وَ‍‍قَ‍الَ نِسْوَةٌ فِي ‌الْمَدِينَةِ ‌امْ‍رَ‌أَتُ ‌الْعَز‍ِ‍ي‍‍زِ‌ تُ‍رَ‌ا‌وِ‌دُ‌ فَتَاهَا‌ عَ‍‌‍ن‌ْ نَفْسِهِ ۖ قَ‍‍دْ‌ شَ‍‍غَ‍‍فَهَا‌ حُبّاً ۖ ‌إِنَّ‍‍ا‌ لَنَ‍رَ‌اهَا‌ فِي ضَ‍‍لاَلٍ مُبِينٍ
Falammā Sami`at Bimakrihinna 'Arsalat 'Ilayhinna Wa 'A`tadat Lahunna Muttaka'an Wa 'Ātat Kulla Wāĥidatin Minhunna Sikkīnāan Wa Qālati Akhruj `Alayhinna ۖ Falammā Ra'aynahu 'Akbarnahu Wa Qaţţa`na 'Aydiyahunna Wa Qulna Ĥāsha Lillāh Mā Hādhā Bashaan 'In Hādhā 'Illā Malakun Karīmun (Yūsuf: 31). 012.031 When she heard of their malicious talk, she sent for them and prepared a banquet for them: she gave each of them a knife: and she said (to Joseph), "Come out before them." When they saw him, they did extol him, and (in their amazement) cut their hands: they said, "God preserve us! no mortal is this! this is none other than a noble angel!" فَلَ‍‍مَّ‍‍ا‌ سَمِعَتْ بِمَكْ‍‍رِهِ‍‍نّ‌َ ‌أَ‌رْسَلَتْ ‌إِلَيْهِ‍‍نّ‌َ ‌وَ‌أَعْتَدَتْ لَهُ‍‍نّ‌َ مُتَّكَأً ‌وَ‌آتَتْ كُلَّ ‌وَ‌احِدَةٍ مِ‍‌‍نْ‍‍هُ‍‍نّ‌َ سِكِّيناً ‌وَ‍‍قَ‍‍الَتِ ‌اخْ‍‍رُج‌ْ عَلَيْهِ‍‍نّ‌َ ۖ فَلَ‍‍مَّ‍‍ا ‍رَ‌أَيْنَهُ ‌أَكْبَرْنَهُ ‌وَقَ‍‍طَّ‍‍عْنَ ‌أَيْدِيَهُ‍‍نّ‌َ ‌وَقُ‍‍لْنَ ح‍‍َاشَ لِلَّهِ مَا‌ هَذَ‌ا‌ بَشَر‌اً ‌إِ‌ن‌ْ هَذَ‌ا إِلاَّ‌ مَلَكٌ كَ‍‍رِيمٌ
Qālat Fadhālikunna Al-Ladhī Lumtunnanī Fīhi ۖ Wa Laqad wadttuhu `An Nafsihi Fāsta`şama ۖ Wa La'in Lam Yaf`al Mā 'Āmuruhu Layusjananna Wa Layakūnāan Mina Aş-Şāghirīna (Yūsuf: 32). 012.032 She said: "There before you is the man about whom ye did blame me! I did seek to seduce him from his (true) self but he did firmly save himself guiltless!....and now, if he doth not my bidding, he shall certainly be cast into prison, and (what is more) be of the company of the vilest!" قَ‍‍الَتْ فَذَلِكُ‍‍نّ‌َ ‌الَّذِي لُمْتُ‍‍نَّ‍‍نِي ف‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍هِ ۖ ‌وَلَ‍‍قَ‍‍دْرَ‌ا‌وَ‌دتُّهُ عَ‍‌‍ن‌ْ نَفْسِهِ فَاسْتَعْ‍‍صَ‍‍مَ ۖ ‌وَلَئِ‍‌‍ن‌ْ لَمْ يَفْعَلْ مَ‍‍ا آمُرُهُ لَيُسْجَنَ‍‍نّ‌َ ‌وَلَيَكُوناً مِنَ ‌ال‍‍صَّ‍‍اغِ‍‍رِينَ
Qāla Rabbi As-Sijnu 'Aĥabbu 'Ilayya Mimmā Yad`ūnanī 'Ilayhi ۖ Wa 'Illā Taşrif `Annī Kaydahunna 'Aşbu 'Ilayhinna Wa 'Akun Mina Al-Jāhilīna (Yūsuf: 33). 012.033 He said: "O my Lord! the prison is more to my liking than that to which they invite me: Unless Thou turn away their snare from me, I should (in my youthful folly) feel inclined towards them and join the ranks of the ignorant." قَ‍الَ ‌‍رَبِّ ‌ال‍‍سِّ‍‍جْ‍‍نُ ‌أَحَبُّ ‌إِلَيَّ مِ‍‍مَّ‍‍ا‌ يَ‍‍دْعُونَنِ‍‍ي ‌إِلَ‍‍يْ‍‍هِ ۖ ‌وَ‌إِلاَّ‌ تَ‍‍صْ‍‍رِفْ عَ‍‍نِّ‍‍ي كَيْدَهُ‍‍نّ‌َ ‌أَ‍صْ‍‍بُ ‌إِلَيْهِ‍‍نّ‌َ ‌وَ‌أَكُ‍‌‍ن‌ْ مِنَ ‌الْجَاهِلِينَ
Fāstajāba Lahu Rabbuhu Faşarafa `Anhu Kaydahunna ۚ 'Innahu Huwa As-Samī`u Al-`Alīmu (Yūsuf: 34). 012.034 So his Lord hearkened to him (in his prayer), and turned away from him their snare: Verily He heareth and knoweth (all things). فَاسْتَج‍‍َابَ لَهُ ‌‍‍‍رَبُّهُ فَ‍‍صَ‍رَفَ عَ‍‌‍نْ‍‍هُ كَيْدَهُ‍‍نّ‌َ ۚ ‌إِنَّ‍‍هُ هُوَ ‌ال‍‍سَّم‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍عُ ‌الْعَلِيمُ
Thumma Badā Lahum Min Ba`di Mā Ra'aw Al-'Āyāti Layasjununnahu Ĥattá Ĥīnin (Yūsuf: 35). 012.035 Then it occurred to the men, after they had seen the signs, (that it was best) to imprison him for a time. ثُ‍‍مّ‌َ بَدَ‌ا‌ لَهُمْ مِ‍‌‍ن‌ْ بَعْدِ‌ مَا ‍‍‍رَ‌أَ‌وُ‌ا‌ ‌الآي‍‍َاتِ لَيَسْجُنُ‍‍نَّ‍‍هُ حَتَّى‌ حِينٍ
Wa Dakhala Ma`ahu As-Sijna Fatayāni ۖ Qāla 'Aĥaduhumā 'Innī 'Anī 'A`şiru Khaman ۖ Wa Qāla Al-'Ākharu 'Innī 'Anī 'Aĥmilu Fawqa Ra'sī Khubzāan Ta'kulu Aţ-Ţayru Minhu ۖ Nabbi'nā Bita'w9lihi ۖ 'Innā Narāka Mina Al-Muĥsinīna (Yūsuf: 36). 012.036 Now with him there came into the prison two young men. Said one of them: "I see myself (in a dream) pressing wine." said the other: "I see myself (in a dream) carrying bread on my head, and birds are eating, thereof." "Tell us" (they said) "The truth and meaning thereof: for we see thou art one that doth good (to all)." وَ‌دَ‍‍خَ‍‍لَ مَعَهُ ‌ال‍‍سِّ‍‍جْ‍‍نَ فَتَي‍‍َانِ ۖ قَ‍الَ ‌أَحَدُهُمَ‍‍ا إِنِّ‍‍ي ‌أَ‌‍رَ‌انِ‍‍ي ‌أَعْ‍‍صِ‍‍رُخَ‍‍مْر‌اً ۖ ‌وَقَ‍الَ ‌الآ‍‍خَ‍‍رُ إِنِّ‍‍ي ‌أَ‌‍رَ‌انِ‍‍ي ‌أَحْمِلُ فَ‍‍وْ‍‍قَ ‌‍رَ‌أْسِي خُ‍‍بْ‍‍ز‌اً تَأْكُلُ ‌ال‍‍طَّ‍‍يْ‍‍رُ‌ مِ‍‌‍نْ‍‍هُ ۖ نَبِّئْنَا‌ بِتَأْ‌وِيلِهِ ۖ ‌إِنَّ‍‍ا‌ نَ‍رَ‍‌اكَ مِنَ ‌الْمُحْسِنِينَ
Qāla Lā Ya'tīkumā Ţa`āmun Turzaqānihi 'Illā Nabba'tukumā Bita'w9lihi Qabla 'An Ya'tiyakumā ۚ Dhālikumā Mimmā `Allamanī Rabbī ۚ 'Innī Taraktu Millata Qawmin Lā Yu'uminūna Billāhi Wa Hum Bil-'Ākhirati Hum Kāfirūna (Yūsuf: 37). 012.037 He said: "Before any food comes (in due course) to feed either of you, I will surely reveal to you the truth and meaning of this ere it befall you: that is part of the (duty) which my Lord hath taught me. I have (I assure you) abandoned the ways of a people that believe not in God and that (even) deny the Hereafter. قَ‍الَ لاَ‌ يَأْتِيكُمَا‌ طَ‍‍ع‍‍َامٌ تُرْ‌زَقَ‍‍انِهِ ‌إِلاَّ‌ نَبَّأْتُكُمَا‌ بِتَأْ‌وِيلِهِ قَ‍‍بْ‍‍لَ ‌أَ‌ن‌ْ يَأْتِيَكُمَا‌ ۚ ‌ذَلِكُمَا‌ مِ‍‍مَّ‍‍ا‌ عَلَّمَنِي ‌‍رَبِّ‍‍ي ۚ ‌إِنِّ‍‍ي تَ‍رَكْتُ مِلَّةَ قَ‍‍وْمٍ لاَ‌ يُؤْمِن‍‍ُ‍ونَ بِ‌اللَّ‍‍هِ ‌وَهُمْ بِ‌الآ‍‍خِ‍رَةِ هُمْ كَافِرُ‌ونَ
Wa Attaba`tu Millata 'Ābā'ī 'Ibhīma Wa 'Isĥāqa Wa Ya`qūba ۚ Mā Kāna Lanā 'An Nushrika Billāhi Min Shay'in ۚ Dhālika Min Fađli Allāhi `Alaynā Wa `Alá An-Nāsi Wa Lakinna 'Akthara An-Nāsi Lā Yashkurūna (Yūsuf: 38). 012.038 "And I follow the ways of my fathers,- Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob; and never could we attribute any partners whatever to God: that (comes) of the grace of God to us and to mankind: yet most men are not grateful. وَ‌اتَّبَعْتُ مِلَّةَ ‌آب‍‍َائ‍‍ِ‍‍ي ‌إِبْ‍‍‍‍‍رَ‌اه‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍مَ ‌وَ‌إِسْح‍‍َاقَ ‌وَيَعْ‍‍قُ‍‍وبَ ۚ مَا‌ ك‍‍َانَ لَنَ‍‍ا أَ‌ن‌ْ نُشْ‍‍رِكَ بِ‌اللَّ‍‍هِ مِ‍‌‍ن‌ْ شَ‍‍يْء‌‌ٍ ۚ ‌ذَلِكَ مِ‍‌‍ن‌ْ فَ‍‍ضْ‍‍لِ ‌اللَّ‍‍هِ عَلَيْنَا وَعَلَى‌ ‌ال‍‍نّ‍‍َاسِ ‌وَلَكِ‍‍نّ‌َ ‌أَكْثَ‍رَ‌ال‍‍نّ‍‍َاسِ لاَ‌ يَشْكُرُ‌ونَ
Şāĥibayi As-Sijni 'A'arbābun Mutafarriqūna Khayrun 'Ami Allāhu Al-Wāĥidu Al-Qahhāru (Yūsuf: 39). 012.039 "O my two companions of the prison! (I ask you): are many lords differing among themselves better, or the One God, Supreme and Irresistible? يَا‌ صَ‍‍احِبَيِ ‌ال‍‍سِّ‍‍جْ‍‍نِ ‌أَ‌أَ‌رْب‍‍َابٌ مُتَفَرِّ‍‍قُ‍‍ونَ خَ‍‍يْ‍‍رٌ أَمِ ‌اللَّ‍‍هُ ‌الْوَ‌احِدُ‌ ‌الْ‍‍قَ‍‍هَّا‌رُ
Mā Ta`budūna Min Dūnihi 'Illā 'Asmā'an Sammaytumūhā 'Antum Wa 'Ābā'uukum Mā 'Anzala Allāhu Bihā Min Sulţānin ۚ 'Ini Al-Ĥukmu 'Illā Lillāh ۚ 'Amara 'Allā Ta`budū 'Illā 'Īyāhu ۚ Dhālika Ad-Dīnu Al-Qayyimu Wa Lakinna 'Akthara An-Nāsi Lā Ya`lamūna (Yūsuf: 40). 012.040 "If not Him, ye worship nothing but names which ye have named,- ye and your fathers,- for which God hath sent down no authority: the command is for none but God: He hath commanded that ye worship none but Him: that is the right religion, but most men understand not... مَا‌ تَعْبُد‍ُ‍‌ونَ مِ‍‌‍ن‌ْ ‌دُ‌ونِهِ ‌إِلاَّ أَسْم‍‍َا‌ءً سَ‍‍مَّ‍‍يْتُمُوهَ‍‍ا أَ‌نْ‍‍تُمْ ‌وَ‌آب‍‍َا‌ؤُكُمْ مَ‍‍ا أَ‌ن‍‍زَلَ ‌اللَّ‍‍هُ بِهَا‌ مِ‍‌‍ن‌ْ سُلْ‍‍‍‍طَ‍انٍ ۚ ‌إِنِ ‌الْحُكْمُ ‌إِلاَّ لِلَّهِ ۚ ‌أَمَ‍رَ أَلاَّ‌ تَعْبُدُ‌وا ‌إِلاَّ إِيّ‍‍َاهُ ۚ ‌ذَلِكَ ‌ال‍‍دّ‍ِ‍ي‍‍نُ ‌الْ‍‍قَ‍‍يِّمُ ‌وَلَكِ‍‍نّ‌َ ‌أَكْثَ‍رَ‌ال‍‍نّ‍‍َاسِ لاَ‌ يَعْلَمُونَ
Şāĥibayi As-Sijni 'Ammā 'Aĥadukumā Fayasqī Rabbahu Khaman ۖ Wa 'Ammā Al-'Ākharu Fayuşlabu Fata'kulu Aţ-Ţayru Min Ra'sihi ۚ Quđiya Al-'Amru Al-Ladhī Fīhi Tastaftiyāni (Yūsuf: 41). 012.041 "O my two companions of the prison! As to one of you, he will pour out the wine for his lord to drink: as for the other, he will hang from the cross, and the birds will eat from off his head. (so) hath been decreed that matter whereof ye twain do enquire"... يَا‌ صَ‍‍احِبَيِ ‌ال‍‍سِّ‍‍جْ‍‍نِ ‌أَمَّ‍‍ا أَحَدُكُمَا‌ فَيَسْ‍‍قِ‍‍ي ‌‍رَبَّهُ خَ‍‍مْر‌اً ۖ ‌وَ‌أَمَّ‍‍ا‌ ‌الآ‍‍خَ‍‍رُ‌ فَيُ‍‍صْ‍‍لَبُ فَتَأْكُلُ ‌ال‍‍طَّ‍‍يْ‍‍رُ‌ مِ‍‌‍ن‌ْ ‌‍رَ‌أْسِهِ ۚ قُ‍‍ضِ‍‍يَ ‌الأَمْرُ‌ ‌الَّذِي ف‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍هِ تَسْتَفْتِيَانِ
Wa Qāla Lilladhī Žanna 'Annahu Nājin Minhumā Adhkurnī `Inda Rabbika Fa'ansāhu Ash-Shayţānu Dhikra Rabbihi Falabitha Fī As-Sijni Biđ`a Sinīna (Yūsuf: 42). 012.042 And of the two, to that one whom he consider about to be saved, he said: "Mention me to thy lord." But Satan made him forget to mention him to his lord: and (Joseph) lingered in prison a few (more) years. وَ‍‍قَ‍الَ لِلَّذِي ظَ‍‍نّ‌َ ‌أَنَّ‍‍هُ ن‍‍َاجٍ مِ‍‌‍نْ‍‍هُمَا‌ ‌ا‌ذْكُرْنِي عِ‍‌‍نْ‍‍دَ ‍رَبِّكَ فَأَ‌ن‍‍س‍‍َاهُ ‌ال‍‍شَّيْ‍‍طَ‍انُ ‌ذِكْ‍رَرَبِّهِ فَلَبِثَ فِي ‌ال‍‍سِّ‍‍جْ‍‍نِ بِ‍‍ضْ‍‍عَ سِنِينَ
Wa Qāla Al-Maliku 'Innī 'Ará Sab`a Baqarātin Simānin Ya'kuluhunna Sab`un `Ijāfun Wa Sab`a Sunbulātin Khrin Wa 'Ukharaۖ Bisātin Yā 'Ayyuhā Al-Mala'u 'Aftūnī Fī Ru'uyā Ya 'In Kuntum Lilrru'uyā Ta`burūna (Yūsuf: 43). 012.043 The king (of Egypt) said: "I do see (in a vision) seven fat kine, whom seven lean ones devour, and seven green ears of corn, and seven (others) withered. O ye chiefs! Expound to me my vision if it be that ye can interpret visions." وَ‍‍قَ‍الَ ‌الْمَلِكُ ‌إِنِّ‍‍ي ‌أَ‌‍رَ‌ى‌ سَ‍‍بْ‍‍عَ بَ‍‍قَ‍رَ‍‌اتٍ سِم‍‍َانٍ يَأْكُلُهُ‍‍نّ‌َ سَ‍‍بْ‍‍عٌ عِج‍‍َافٌ ‌وَسَ‍‍بْ‍‍عَ سُ‍‌‍نْ‍‍بُلاَتٍ خُ‍‍ضْ‍‍ر‌ٍ ‌وَ‌أُخَ‍رَ‌ يَابِس‍‍َاتٍ ۖ ي‍‍َا‌أَيُّهَا‌ ‌الْمَلَأُ أَفْتُونِي فِي ‌رُ‌ؤْي‍‍َايَ ‌إِ‌ن‌ْ كُ‍‌‍ن‍‍تُمْ لِ‍‍ل‍‍رُّ‌ؤْيَا‌ تَعْبُرُ‌ونَ
Qālū 'Ađghāthu 'Aĥlāmin ۖ Wa Mā Naĥnu Bita'w9li Al-'Aĥlāmi Bi`ālimīna (Yūsuf: 44). 012.044 They said: "A confused medley of dreams: and we are not skilled in the interpretation of dreams." قَ‍‍الُ‍‍وا ‌أَ‍ضْ‍‍غَ‍اثُ ‌أَحْلاَمٍ ۖ ‌وَمَا‌ نَحْنُ بِتَأْ‌و‍ِ‍ي‍‍لِ ‌الأَحْلاَمِ بِعَالِمِينَ
Wa Qāla Al-Ladhī Najā Minhumā Wa Aiddakara Ba`da 'Ummatin 'Anā 'Unabbi'ukum Bita'w9lihi Fa'arsilūni (Yūsuf: 45). 012.045 But the man who had been released, one of the two (who had been in prison) and who now bethought him after (so long) a space of time, said: "I will tell you the truth of its interpretation: send ye me (therefore)." وَ‍‍قَ‍الَ ‌الَّذِي نَجَا‌ مِ‍‌‍نْ‍‍هُمَا وَ‌ا‍ِ‍‌دَّكَ‍رَ‌ بَعْدَ أُمَّ‍‍ةٍ ‌أَنَ‍‍ا أُنَبِّئُكُمْ بِتَأْ‌وِيلِهِ فَأَ‌رْسِلُونِ
Yūsufu 'Ayyuhā Aş-Şiddīqu 'Aftinā Fī Sab`i Baqarātin Simānin Ya'kuluhunna Sab`un `Ijāfun Wa Sab`i Sunbulātin Khrin Wa 'Ukhara Yā Bisātin La`allī 'Arji`u 'Ilá An-Nāsi La`allahum Ya`lamūna (Yūsuf: 46). 012.046 "O Joseph!" (he said) "O man of truth! Expound to us (the dream) of seven fat kine whom seven lean ones devour, and of seven green ears of corn and (seven) others withered: that I may return to the people, and that they may understand." يُوسُفُ ‌أَيُّهَا‌ ‌ال‍‍‍‍‍صِّ‍‍دّ‍ِ‍ي‍‍قُ ‌أَفْتِنَا‌ فِي سَ‍‍بْ‍‍عِ بَ‍‍قَ‍رَ‍‌اتٍ سِم‍‍َانٍ يَأْكُلُهُ‍‍نّ‌َ سَ‍‍بْ‍‍عٌ عِج‍‍َافٌ ‌وَسَ‍‍بْ‍‍عِ سُ‍‌‍نْ‍‍بُلاَتٍ خُ‍‍ضْ‍‍ر‌ٍ ‌وَ‌أُخَ‍رَ‌ يَابِس‍‍َاتٍ لَعَلِّ‍‍ي ‌أَ‌رْجِعُ ‌إِلَى‌ ‌ال‍‍نّ‍‍َاسِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَعْلَمُونَ
Qāla Tazra`ūna Sab`a Sinīna Da'abāan Famā Ĥaşadtum Fadharūhu Fī Sunbulihi 'Illā Qalīlāan Mimmā Ta'kulūna (Yūsuf: 47). 012.047 (Joseph) said: "For seven years shall ye diligently sow as is your wont: and the harvests that ye reap, ye shall leave them in the ear,- except a little, of which ye shall eat. قَ‍الَ تَزْ‌‍رَع‍‍ُ‍ونَ سَ‍‍بْ‍‍عَ سِن‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍نَ ‌دَ‌أَباً فَمَا‌ حَ‍‍صَ‍‍دْتُمْ فَذَ‌ر‍ُ‍‌وهُ فِي سُ‍‌‍نْ‍‍بُلِهِ ‌إِلاَّ قَ‍‍لِيلاً مِ‍‍مَّ‍‍ا‌ تَأْكُلُونَ
Thumma Ya'tī Min Ba`di Dhālika Sab`un Shidādun Ya'kulna Mā Qaddamtum Lahunna 'Illā Qalīlāan Mimmā Tuĥşinūna (Yūsuf: 48). 012.048 "Then will come after that (period) seven dreadful (years), which will devour what ye shall have laid by in advance for them,- (all) except a little which ye shall have (specially) guarded. ثُ‍‍مّ‌َ يَأْتِي مِ‍‌‍ن‌ْ بَعْدِ ذَلِكَ سَ‍‍بْ‍‍عٌ شِد‍َ‌ادٌ يَأْكُلْنَ مَا‌ قَ‍‍دَّمْتُمْ لَهُ‍‍نّ‌َ ‌إِلاَّ قَ‍‍لِيلاً مِ‍‍مَّ‍‍ا‌ تُحْ‍‍صِ‍‍نُونَ
Thumma Ya'tī Min Ba`di Dhālika `Āmun Fīhi Yughāthu An-Nāsu Wa Fīhi Ya`şirūna (Yūsuf: 49). 012.049 "Then will come after that (period) a year in which the people will have abundant water, and in which they will press (wine and oil)." ثُ‍‍مّ‌َ يَأْتِي مِ‍‌‍ن‌ْ بَعْدِ ذَلِكَ ع‍‍َامٌ ف‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍هِ يُ‍‍‍‍غَ‍اثُ ‌ال‍‍نّ‍‍َاسُ ‌وَف‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍هِ يَعْ‍‍صِ‍‍رُ‌ونَ
Wa Qāla Al-Maliku A'tūnī Bihi ۖ Falammā Jā'ahu Ar-Rasūlu Qāla Arji` 'Ilá Rabbika Fās'alhu Mā Bālu An-Niswati Al-Lātī Qaţţa`na 'Aydiyahunna ۚ 'Inna Rabbī Bikaydihinna `Alīmun (Yūsuf: 50). 012.050 So the king said: "Bring ye him unto me." But when the messenger came to him, (Joseph) said: "Go thou back to thy lord, and ask him, 'What is the state of mind of the ladies who cut their hands'? For my Lord is certainly well aware of their snare." وَ‍‍قَ‍الَ ‌الْمَلِكُ ‌ائْتُونِي بِهِ ۖ فَلَ‍‍مَّ‍‍ا‌ ج‍‍َا‌ءَهُ ‌ال‍رَّس‍‍ُ‍ولُ قَ‍الَ ‌ا‌رْجِعْ ‌إِلَى ‍رَبِّكَ فَاسْأَلْهُ مَا‌ ب‍‍َالُ ‌ال‍‍نِّ‍‍سْوَةِ ‌ال‍‍لاَّتِي قَ‍‍طَّ‍‍عْنَ ‌أَيْدِيَهُ‍‍نّ‌َ ۚ ‌إِنّ‌َ ‌‍رَبِّي بِكَيْدِهِ‍‍نَّ عَلِيمٌ
Qāla Mā Khaţbukunna 'Idh wadttunna Yūsufa `An Nafsihi ۚ Qulna Ĥāsha Lillāh Mā `Alimnā `Alayhi Min Sū'in ۚ Qālati Amra'atu Al-`Azīzi Al-'Āna Ĥaşĥaşa Al-Ĥaqqu 'Anā wadttuhu `An Nafsihi Wa 'Innahu Lamina Aş-Şādiqīna (Yūsuf: 51). 012.051 (The king) said (to the ladies): "What was your affair when ye did seek to seduce Joseph from his (true) self?" The ladies said: "God preserve us! no evil know we against him!" Said the 'Aziz's wife: "Now is the truth manifest (to all): it was I who sought to seduce him from his (true) self: He is indeed of those who are (ever) true (and virtuous). قَ‍الَ مَا‌ خَ‍‍طْ‍‍‍‍بُكُ‍‍نّ‌َ ‌إِ‌ذْ ‍رَ‌ا‌وَ‌دتُّ‍‍نّ‌َ يُوسُفَ عَ‍‌‍ن‌ْ نَفْسِهِ ۚ قُ‍‍لْنَ ح‍‍َاشَ لِلَّهِ مَا‌ عَلِمْنَا‌ عَلَ‍‍يْ‍‍هِ مِ‍‌‍ن‌ْ س‍‍ُ‍و‌ء‌‌ٍ ۚ قَ‍‍الَتِ ‌امْ‍رَ‌أَتُ ‌الْعَز‍ِ‍ي‍‍زِ‌ ‌الآنَ حَ‍‍صْ‍‍حَ‍‍صَ ‌الْحَ‍‍قُّ ‌أَنَا ‍رَ‌ا‌وَ‌دتُّهُ عَ‍‌‍ن‌ْ نَفْسِهِ ‌وَ‌إِنَّ‍‍هُ لَمِنَ ‌ال‍‍صَّ‍‍ا‌دِ‍قِ‍‍ينَ
Dhālika Liya`lama 'Annī Lam 'Akhunhu Bil-Ghaybi Wa 'Anna Allāha Lā Yahdī Kayda Al-Khā'inīna (Yūsuf: 52). 012.052 "This (say I), in order that He may know that I have never been false to him in his absence, and that God will never guide the snare of the false ones. ذَلِكَ لِيَعْلَمَ ‌أَنِّ‍‍ي لَمْ ‌أَ‍‍خُ‍‍‌‍نْ‍‍هُ بِ‌الْ‍‍غَ‍‍يْ‍‍بِ ‌وَ‌أَنّ‌َ ‌اللَّ‍‍هَ لاَ‌ يَهْدِي كَ‍‍يْ‍‍دَ ‌الْ‍‍خَ‍‍ائِنِينَ
Wa Mā 'Ubarri'u Nafsī ۚ 'Inna An-Nafsa La'ammāratun Bis-Sū'i 'Illā Mā Raĥima Rabbī ۚ 'Inna Rabbī Ghafūrun Raĥīmun (Yūsuf: 53). 012.053 "Nor do I absolve my own self (of blame): the (human) soul is certainly prone to evil, unless my Lord do bestow His Mercy: but surely my Lord is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful." وَمَ‍‍ا أُبَرِّئُ نَفْسِ‍‍ي ۚ ‌إِنّ‌َ ‌ال‍‍نَّ‍‍فْسَ لَأَمَّ‍‍ا‌‍‍‍رَة‌‍ٌ بِ‌ال‍‍سّ‍‍ُ‍و‌ءِ إِلاَّ‌ مَا ‍رَحِمَ ‌‍رَبِّ‍‍ي ۚ ‌إِنّ‌َ ‌‍رَبِّي غَ‍‍ف‍‍ُ‍و‌ر‌ٌ ‌‍رَحِيمٌ
Wa Qāla Al-Maliku A'tūnī Bihi 'Astakhlişhu Linafsī ۖ Falammā Kallamahu Qāla 'Innaka Al-Yawma Ladaynā Makīnun 'Amīnun (Yūsuf: 54). 012.054 So the king said: "Bring him unto me; I will take him specially to serve about my own person." Therefore when he had spoken to him, he said: "Be assured this day, thou art, before our own presence, with rank firmly established, and fidelity fully proved! وَ‍‍قَ‍الَ ‌الْمَلِكُ ‌ائْتُونِي بِهِ ‌أَسْتَ‍‍خْ‍‍لِ‍‍صْ‍‍هُ لِنَفْسِي ۖ فَلَ‍‍مَّ‍‍ا‌ كَلَّمَهُ قَ‍الَ ‌إِنَّ‍‍كَ ‌الْيَ‍‍وْمَ لَدَيْنَا‌ مَك‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍نٌ ‌أَمِينٌ
Qāla Aj`alnī `Alá Khazā'ini Al-'Arđi ۖ 'Innī Ĥafīžun `Alīmun (Yūsuf: 55). 012.055 (Joseph) said: "Set me over the store-houses of the land: I will indeed guard them, as one that knows (their importance)." قَ‍الَ ‌اجْ‍‍عَلْنِي عَلَى‌ خَ‍‍ز‍َ‍‌ائِنِ ‌الأَ‌رْضِ ۖ ‌إِنِّ‍‍ي حَف‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍ظٌ عَلِيمٌ
Wa Kadhalika Makkannā Liyūsufa Fī Al-'Arđi Yatabawwa'u Minhā Ĥaythu Yashā'u ۚ Nuşību Biraĥmatinā Man Nashā'u ۖ Wa Lā Nuđī`u 'Ajra Al-Muĥsinīna (Yūsuf: 56). 012.056 Thus did We give established power to Joseph in the land, to take possession therein as, when, or where he pleased. We bestow of our Mercy on whom We please, and We suffer not, to be lost, the reward of those who do good. وَكَذَلِكَ مَكَّ‍‍نَّ‍‍ا‌ لِيُوسُفَ فِي ‌الأَ‌رْ‍‍ضِ يَتَبَوَّ‌أُ‌ مِ‍‌‍نْ‍‍هَا‌ حَ‍‍يْ‍‍ثُ يَش‍‍َا‌ءُ‌ ۚ نُ‍‍صِ‍‍ي‍‍بُ بِ‍رَحْمَتِنَا‌ مَ‍‌‍ن‌ْ نَش‍‍َا‌ءُ‌ ۖ ‌وَلاَ‌ نُ‍‍ضِ‍‍ي‍‍عُ ‌أَجْ‍‍‍رَ‌الْمُحْسِنِينَ
Wa La'ajru Al-'Ākhirati Khayrun Lilladhīna 'Āmanū Wa Kānū Yattaqūna (Yūsuf: 57). 012.057 But verily the reward of the Hereafter is the best, for those who believe, and are constant in righteousness. وَلَأَجْ‍‍رُ‌ ‌الآ‍‍‍‍خِ‍رَةِ خَ‍‍يْ‍‍ر‌ٌ لِلَّذ‍ِ‍ي‍‍نَ ‌آمَنُوا ‌وَكَانُوا يَتَّ‍‍قُ‍‍ونَ
Wa Jā'a 'Ikhwatu Yūsufa Fadakhalū `Alayhi Fa`arafahum Wa Hum Lahu Munkirūna (Yūsuf: 58). 012.058 Then came Joseph's brethren: they entered his presence, and he knew them, but they knew him not. وَج‍‍َا‌ءَ إِ‍‍خْ‍‍وَةُ يُوسُفَ فَدَ‍خَ‍‍لُوا عَلَ‍‍يْ‍‍هِ فَعَ‍رَفَهُمْ ‌وَهُمْ لَهُ مُ‍‌‍ن‍‍كِرُ‌ونَ
Wa Lammā Jahhazahum Bijahāzihim Qāla A'tūnī Bi'akhin Lakum Min 'Abīkum ۚ 'Alā Tarawna 'Annī 'Ūfī Al-Kayla Wa 'Anā Khayru Al-Munzilīna (Yūsuf: 59). 012.059 And when he had furnished them forth with provisions (suitable) for them, he said: "Bring unto me a brother ye have, of the same father as yourselves, (but a different mother): see ye not that I pay out full measure, and that I do provide the best hospitality? وَلَ‍‍مَّ‍‍ا‌ جَهَّزَهُمْ بِجَهَا‌زِهِمْ قَ‍الَ ‌ائْتُونِي بِأَ‍خ‍ٍ لَكُمْ مِ‍‌‍ن‌ْ ‌أَبِيكُمْ ۚ ‌أَلاَ‌ تَ‍رَ‌وْنَ ‌أَنِّ‍‍ي ‌أ‍ُ‍‌وفِي ‌الْكَ‍‍يْ‍‍لَ ‌وَ‌أَنَا‌ خَ‍‍يْ‍‍رُ‌ ‌الْمُ‍‌‍ن‍‍زِلِينَ
Fa'in Lam Ta'tūnī Bihi Falā Kayla Lakum `Indī Wa Lā Taqrabūni (Yūsuf: 60). 012.060 "Now if ye bring him not to me, ye shall have no measure (of corn) from me, nor shall ye (even) come near me." فَإِ‌ن‌ْ لَمْ تَأْتُونِي بِهِ فَلاَ‌ كَ‍‍يْ‍‍لَ لَكُمْ عِ‍‌‍ن‍‍دِي ‌وَلاَ‌ تَ‍‍‍‍‍قْ‍‍‍‍‍رَبُونِ
Qālū Sanuwidu `Anhu 'Abāhu Wa 'Innā Lafā`ilūna (Yūsuf: 61). 012.061 They said: "We shall certainly seek to get our wish about him from his father: Indeed we shall do it." قَ‍‍الُوا سَنُ‍رَ‌ا‌وِ‌دُ‌ عَ‍‌‍نْ‍‍هُ ‌أَب‍‍َاهُ ‌وَ‌إِنَّ‍‍ا‌ لَفَاعِلُونَ
Wa Qāla Lifityānihi Aj`alū Biđā`atahumRiĥālihim La`allahum Ya`rifūnahā 'Idhā Anqalabū 'Ilá 'Ahlihim La`allahum Yarji`ūna (Yūsuf: 62). 012.062 And (Joseph) told his servants to put their stock-in-trade (with which they had bartered) into their saddle-bags, so they should know it only when they returned to their people, in order that they might come back. وَ‍‍قَ‍الَ لِفِتْيَانِهِ ‌اجْ‍‍عَلُوا بِ‍‍ضَ‍‍اعَتَهُمْ فِي ‌رِحَالِهِمْ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَعْ‍‍رِفُونَهَ‍‍ا إِ‌ذَ‌ا‌ ‌ان‍‍قَ‍‍لَبُ‍‍وا ‌إِلَ‍‍ى أَهْلِهِمْ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْجِعُونَ
Falammā Raja`ū 'Ilá 'Abīhim Qālū Yā 'Abānā Muni`a Minnā Al-Kaylu Fa'arsil Ma`anā 'Akhānā Naktal Wa 'Innā Lahu Laĥāfižūna (Yūsuf: 63). 012.063 Now when they returned to their father, they said: "O our father! No more measure of grain shall we get (unless we take our brother): So send our brother with us, that we may get our measure; and we will indeed take every care of him." فَلَ‍‍مَّ‍‍ا ‍‍‍رَجَعُ‍‍وا ‌إِلَ‍‍ى أَبِيهِمْ قَ‍‍الُوا يَ‍‍ا أَبَانَا‌ مُنِعَ مِ‍‍نَّ‍‍ا‌ ‌الْكَ‍‍يْ‍‍لُ فَأَ‌رْسِلْ مَعَنَ‍‍ا أَ‍خَ‍‍انَا‌ نَكْتَلْ ‌وَ‌إِنَّ‍‍ا‌ لَهُ لَحَافِ‍‍ظُ‍‍ونَ
Qāla Hal 'Āmanukum `Alayhi 'Illā Kamā 'Amintukum `Alá 'Akhīhi Min Qablu ۖ Fa-Allāhu Khayrun Ĥāfižāan ۖ Wa Huwa 'Arĥamu Ar-ĥimīna (Yūsuf: 64). 012.064 He said: "Shall I trust you with him with any result other than when I trusted you with his brother aforetime? But God is the best to take care (of him), and He is the Most Merciful of those who show mercy!" قَ‍الَ هَلْ ‌آمَنُكُمْ عَلَ‍‍يْ‍‍هِ ‌إِلاَّ‌ كَمَ‍‍ا أَمِ‍‌‍ن‍‍تُكُمْ عَلَ‍‍ى أَ‍خِ‍‍ي‍‍هِ مِ‍‌‍ن‌ْ قَ‍‍بْ‍‍لُ ۖ فَاللَّهُ خَ‍‍يْ‍‍رٌ‌ حَافِ‍‍ظ‍‍اً ۖ ‌وَهُوَ أَ‌رْحَمُ ‌ال‍رَّ‌احِمِينَ
Wa Lammā Fataĥū Matā`ahum Wa Jadū Biđā`atahum Ruddat 'Ilayhim ۖ Qālū Yā 'Abānā Mā Nabghī ۖ Hadhihi Biđā`atunā Ruddat 'Ilaynā ۖ Wa Namīru 'Ahlanā Wa Naĥfažu 'Akhānā Wa Nazdādu Kayla Ba`īrin ۖ Dhālika Kaylun Yasīrun (Yūsuf: 65). 012.065 Then when they opened their baggage, they found their stock-in-trade had been returned to them. They said: "O our father! What (more) can we desire? this our stock-in-trade has been returned to us: so we shall get (more) food for our family; We shall take care of our brother; and add (at the same time) a full camel's load (of grain to our provisions). This is but a small quantity. وَلَ‍‍مَّ‍‍ا‌ فَتَحُوا مَتَاعَهُمْ ‌وَجَدُ‌وا بِ‍‍‍‍ضَ‍‍اعَتَهُمْ ‌رُ‌دَّتْ ‌إِلَيْهِمْ ۖ قَ‍‍الُوا يَ‍‍ا أَبَانَا‌ مَا‌ نَ‍‍بْ‍‍‍‍غِ‍‍ي ۖ هَذِهِ بِ‍‍ضَ‍‍اعَتُنَا رُ‌دَّتْ ‌إِلَيْنَا‌ ۖ ‌وَنَم‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍رُ‌أَهْلَنَا وَنَحْفَ‍‍ظُ ‌أَ‍خَ‍‍انَا وَنَزْ‌د‍َ‌ادُ‌ كَ‍‍يْ‍‍لَ بَع‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍ر‌ٍ ۖ ‌ذَلِكَ كَ‍‍يْ‍‍لٌ يَسِيرٌ
Qāla Lan 'Ursilahu Ma`akum Ĥattá Tu'utūni Mawthiqāan Mina Allāhi Lata'tunanī Bihi 'Illā 'An Yuĥāţa Bikum ۖ Falammā 'Ātawhu Mawthiqahum Qāla Allāhu `Alá Mā Naqūlu Wa Kīlun (Yūsuf: 66). 012.066 (Jacob) said: "Never will I send him with you until ye swear a solemn oath to me, in God's name, that ye will be sure to bring him back to me unless ye are yourselves hemmed in (and made powerless). And when they had sworn their solemn oath, he said: "Over all that we say, be God the witness and guardian!" قَ‍الَ لَ‍‌‍ن‌ْ ‌أُ‌رْسِلَهُ مَعَكُمْ حَتَّى‌ تُؤْت‍‍ُ‍ونِ مَوْثِ‍‍ق‍‍اً مِنَ ‌اللَّ‍‍هِ لَتَأْتُنَنِي بِهِ ‌إِلاَّ أَ‌ن‌ْ يُح‍‍َاطَ بِكُمْ ۖ فَلَ‍‍مَّ‍‍ا آتَ‍‍وْهُ مَوْثِ‍‍قَ‍‍هُمْ قَ‍الَ ‌اللَّ‍‍هُ عَلَى‌ مَا‌ نَ‍‍قُ‍‍ولُ ‌وَكِيلٌ
Wa Qāla Yā Banīya Lā Tadkhulū Min Bābin Wāĥidin Wa Adkhulū Min 'Abwābin Mutafarriqatin ۖ Wa Mā 'Ughnī `Ankum Mina Allāhi Min Shay'in ۖ 'Ini Al-Ĥukmu 'Illā Lillāh ۖ `Alayhi Tawakkaltu ۖ Wa `Alayhi Falyatawakkali Al-Mutawakkilūna (Yūsuf: 67). 012.067 Further he said: "O my sons! enter not all by one gate: enter ye by different gates. Not that I can profit you aught against God (with my advice): None can command except God: On Him do I put my trust: and let all that trust put their trust on Him." وَ‍‍قَ‍الَ يَا‌ بَنِيَّ لاَ‌ تَ‍‍دْ‍خُ‍‍لُوا مِ‍‌‍ن‌ْ ب‍‍َابٍ ‌وَ‌احِد‌ٍ ‌وَ‌ا‌دْ‍خُ‍‍لُوا مِ‍‌‍ن‌ْ ‌أَبْ‍‍و‍َ‍‌ابٍ مُتَفَرِّ‍‍قَ‍‍ةٍ ۖ ‌وَمَ‍‍ا أُغْ‍‍نِي عَ‍‌‍ن‍‍كُمْ مِنَ ‌اللَّ‍‍هِ مِ‍‌‍ن‌ْ شَ‍‍يْء‌‌ٍ ۖ ‌إِنِ ‌الْحُكْمُ ‌إِلاَّ لِلَّهِ ۖ عَلَ‍‍يْ‍‍هِ تَوَكَّلْتُ ۖ ‌وَعَلَ‍‍يْ‍‍هِ فَلْيَتَوَكَّلِ ‌الْمُتَوَكِّلُونَ
Wa Lammā Dakhalū Min Ĥaythu 'Amarahum 'Abūhum Mmā Kāna Yughnī `Anhum Mmina Allāhi Min Shay'in 'Illā Ĥājatan Fī Nafsi Ya`qūba Qađāhā ۚ Wa 'Innahu Ladhū `Ilmin Limā `Allamnāhu Wa Lakinna 'Akthara An-Nāsi Lā Ya`lamūna (Yūsuf: 68). 012.068 And when they entered in the manner their father had enjoined, it did not profit them in the least against (the plan of) God: It was but a necessity of Jacob's soul, which he discharged. For he was, by our instruction, full of knowledge (and experience): but most men know not. وَلَ‍‍مَّ‍‍ا دَ‍‍خَ‍‍لُو‌اْ‌ مِ‍‌‍ن‌ْ حَ‍‍يْ‍‍ثُ ‌أَمَ‍رَهُمْ ‌أَبُوهُ‍‍م مَّ‍‍ا‌ ك‍‍َانَ يُ‍‍غْ‍‍نِي عَ‍‌‍نْ‍‍هُ‍‍م مِّ‍‍نَ ‌اللَّ‍‍هِ مِ‍‌‍ن‌ْ شَ‍‍يْء‌‌ٍ ‌إِلاَّ‌ حَاجَةً فِي نَفْسِ يَعْ‍‍قُ‍‍وبَ قَ‍‍ضَ‍‍اهَا‌ ۚ ‌وَ‌إِنَّ‍‍هُ لَذُ‌و‌ عِلْمٍ لِمَا‌ عَلَّمْن‍‍َاهُ ‌وَلَكِ‍‍نّ‌َ ‌أَكْثَ‍رَ‌ال‍‍نّ‍‍َاسِ لاَ‌ يَعْلَمُونَ
Wa Lammā Dakhalū `Alá Yūsufa 'Āwá 'Ilayhi 'Akhāhu ۖ Qāla 'Innī 'Anā 'Akhūka Falā Tabta'is Bimā Kānū Ya`malūna (Yūsuf: 69). 012.069 Now when they came into Joseph's presence, he received his (full) brother to stay with him. He said (to him): "Behold! I am thy (own) brother; so grieve not at aught of their doings." وَلَ‍‍مَّ‍‍ا دَ‍‍خَ‍‍لُوا عَلَى‌ يُوسُفَ ‌آ‌وَ‌ى إِلَ‍‍يْ‍‍هِ ‌أَ‍خَ‍اهُ ۖ قَ‍الَ ‌إِنِّ‍‍ي ‌أَنَ‍‍ا أَ‍خُ‍‍وكَ فَلاَ‌ تَ‍‍بْ‍‍تَئِسْ بِمَا‌ كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ
Falammā Jahhazahum Bijahāzihim Ja`ala As-Siqāyata Fī Raĥli 'Akhīhi Thumma 'Adhdhana Mu'uadhdhinun 'Ayyatuhā Al-`Īru 'Innakum Lasāriqūna (Yūsuf: 70). 012.070 At length when he had furnished them forth with provisions (suitable) for them, he put the drinking cup into his brother's saddle-bag. Then shouted out a crier: "O ye (in) the caravan! behold! ye are thieves, without doubt!" فَلَ‍‍مَّ‍‍ا‌ جَهَّزَهُمْ بِجَهَا‌زِهِمْ جَعَلَ ‌ال‍‍سِّ‍‍‍‍قَ‍‍ايَةَ فِي ‌‍رَحْلِ ‌أَ‍خِ‍‍ي‍‍هِ ثُ‍‍مّ‌َ ‌أَ‌ذَّنَ مُؤَ‌ذِّنٌ ‌أَيَّتُهَا‌ ‌الْع‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍رُ‌إِنَّ‍‍كُمْ لَسَا‌رِ‍قُ‍‍ونَ
Qālū Wa 'Aqbalū `Alayhimdhā Tafqidūna (Yūsuf: 71). 012.071 They said, turning towards them: "What is it that ye miss?" قَ‍‍الُوا ‌وَ‌أَ‍قْ‍‍‍‍بَلُوا عَلَيْهِمْ مَا‌ذَ‌ا‌ تَفْ‍‍قِ‍‍دُ‌ونَ
Qālū Nafqidu Şuwā`a Al-Maliki Wa Liman Jā'a Bihi Ĥimlu Ba`īrin Wa 'Anā Bihi Za`īmun (Yūsuf: 72). 012.072 They said: "We miss the great beaker of the king; for him who produces it, is (the reward of) a camel load; I will be bound by it." قَ‍‍الُوا نَفْ‍‍قِ‍‍دُ‌ صُ‍‍و‍َ‍‌اعَ ‌الْمَلِكِ ‌وَلِمَ‍‌‍ن‌ْ ج‍‍َا‌ءَ‌ بِهِ حِمْلُ بَع‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍ر‌ٍ ‌وَ‌أَنَا‌ بِهِ ‌زَعِيمٌ
Qālū Ta-Allāhi Laqad `Alimtum Mā Ji'nā Linufsida Fī Al-'Arđi Wa Mā Kunnā Sāriqīna (Yūsuf: 73). 012.073 (The brothers) said: "By God! well ye know that we came not to make mischief in the land, and we are no thieves!" قَ‍‍الُوا تَاللَّهِ لَ‍‍قَ‍‍دْ‌ عَلِمْتُمْ مَا‌ جِئْنَا‌ لِنُفْسِدَ‌ فِي ‌الأَ‌رْضِ ‌وَمَا‌ كُ‍‍نَّ‍‍ا‌ سَا‌رِ‍قِ‍‍ينَ
Qālū Famā Jazā'uuhu 'In Kuntumdhibīna (Yūsuf: 74). 012.074 (The Egyptians) said: "What then shall be the penalty of this, if ye are (proved) to have lied?" قَ‍‍الُوا فَمَا‌ جَز‍َ‌اؤُهُ ‌إِ‌ن‌ْ كُ‍‌‍ن‍‍تُمْ كَا‌ذِبِينَ
Qālū Jazā'uuhu Man Wujida Fī Raĥlihi Fahuwa Jazā'uuhu ۚ Kadhālika Naj Až-Žālimīna (Yūsuf: 75). 012.075 They said: "The penalty should be that he in whose saddle-bag it is found, should be held (as bondman) to atone for the (crime). Thus it is we punish the wrong-doers!" قَ‍‍الُوا جَز‍َ‌اؤُهُ مَ‍‌‍ن‌ْ ‌وُجِدَ‌ فِي ‌‍رَحْلِهِ فَهُوَ‌ جَز‍َ‌اؤُهُ ۚ كَذَلِكَ نَ‍‍جْ‍‍زِي ‌ال‍‍ظَّ‍‍الِمِينَ
Fabada'a Bi'aw`iyatihim Qabla Wi`ā'i 'Akhīhi Thumma Astakhrajahā Min Wi`ā'i 'Akhīhi ۚ Kadhālika Kidnā Liyūsufa ۖ Mā Kāna Liya'khudha 'Akhāhu Fī Dīni Al-Maliki 'Illā 'An Yashā'a Allāhu ۚ Narfa`u Darajātin Man Nashā'u ۗ Wa Fawqa Kulli Dhī `Ilmin `Alīmun (Yūsuf: 76). 012.076 So he began (the search) with their baggage, before (he came to) the baggage of his brother: at length he brought it out of his brother's baggage. Thus did We plan for Joseph. He could not take his brother by the law of the king except that God willed it (so). We raise to degrees (of wisdom) whom We please: but over all endued with knowledge is one, the All-Knowing. فَبَدَ‌أَ‌ بِأَ‌وْعِيَتِهِمْ قَ‍‍بْ‍‍لَ ‌وِع‍‍َا‌ءِ أَ‍خِ‍‍ي‍‍هِ ثُ‍‍مّ‌َ ‌اسْتَ‍‍خْ‍رَجَهَا‌ مِ‍‌‍ن‌ْ ‌وِع‍‍َا‌ءِ أَ‍خِ‍‍ي‍‍هِ ۚ كَذَلِكَ كِ‍‍دْنَا‌ لِيُوسُفَ ۖ مَا‌ ك‍‍َانَ لِيَأْخُ‍‍ذَ أَ‍خَ‍اهُ فِي ‌د‍ِ‍ي‍‍نِ ‌الْمَلِكِ ‌إِلاَّ أَ‌ن‌ْ يَش‍‍َا‌ءَ ‌اللَّ‍‍هُ ۚ نَرْفَعُ ‌دَ‌‍رَج‍‍َاتٍ مَ‍‌‍ن‌ْ نَش‍‍َا‌ءُ‌ ۗ ‌وَفَ‍‍وْ‍‍قَ كُلِّ ‌ذِي عِلْمٍ عَلِيمٌ
Qālū 'In Yasriq Faqad Saraqa 'Akhun Lahu Min Qablu ۚ Fa'asarrahā Yūsufu Fī Nafsihi Wa Lam Yubdihā Lahum ۚ Qāla 'Antum Sharrun Makānāan ۖ Wa Allāhu 'A`lamu Bimā Taşifūna (Yūsuf: 77). 012.077 They said: "If he steals, there was a brother of his who did steal before (him)." But these things did Joseph keep locked in his heart, revealing not the secrets to them. He (simply) said (to himself): "Ye are the worse situated; and God knoweth best the truth of what ye assert!" قَ‍‍الُ‍‍وا ‌إِ‌ن‌ْ يَسْ‍‍رِ‍ق‌ْ فَ‍‍قَ‍‍دْ‌ سَ‍رَقَ ‌أَ‍خ‍ ٌ لَهُ مِ‍‌‍ن‌ْ قَ‍‍بْ‍‍لُ ۚ فَأَسَ‍رَّهَا‌ يُوسُفُ فِي نَفْسِهِ ‌وَلَمْ يُ‍‍بْ‍‍دِهَا‌ لَهُمْ ۚ قَ‍الَ ‌أَ‌نْ‍‍تُمْ شَرٌّ مَكَاناً ۖ ‌وَ‌اللَّهُ ‌أَعْلَمُ بِمَا‌ تَ‍‍صِ‍‍فُونَ
Qālū Yā 'Ayyuhā Al-`Azīzu 'Inna Lahu 'Abāan Shaykhāan Kabīan Fakhudh 'Aĥadanā Makānahu ۖ 'Innā Narāka Mina Al-Muĥsinīna (Yūsuf: 78). 012.078 They said: "O exalted one! Behold! he has a father, aged and venerable, (who will grieve for him); so take one of us in his place; for we see that thou art (gracious) in doing good." قَ‍‍الُوا يَ‍‍ا أَيُّهَا‌ ‌الْعَز‍ِ‍ي‍‍زُ إِنّ‌َ لَهُ ‌أَباً شَيْ‍‍خ‍‍اً كَبِي‍‍ر‌اً فَ‍‍خُ‍‍ذْ أَحَدَنَا‌ مَكَانَهُ ۖ ‌إِنَّ‍‍ا‌ نَ‍رَ‍‌اكَ مِنَ ‌الْمُحْسِنِينَ
Qāla Ma`ādha Allāhi 'An Na'khudha 'Illā Man Wajadnā Matā`anā `Indahu 'Innā 'Idhāan Lažālimūna (Yūsuf: 79). 012.079 He said: "God forbid that we take other than him with whom we found our property: indeed (if we did so), we should be acting wrongfully. قَ‍الَ مَع‍‍َا‌ذَ ‌اللَّ‍‍هِ ‌أَ‌ن‌ْ نَأْخُ‍‍ذَ إِلاَّ‌ مَ‍‌‍ن‌ْ ‌وَجَ‍‍دْنَا‌ مَتَاعَنَا‌ عِ‍‌‍نْ‍‍دَهُ ‌إِنَّ‍‍ا إِ‌ذ‌اً لَ‍‍ظَ‍‍الِمُونَ
Falammā Astay'asū Minhu Khalaşū Najīy7an ۖ Qāla Kabīruhum 'Alam Ta`lamū 'Anna 'Abākum Qad 'Akhadha `Alaykum Mawthiqāan Mina Allāhi Wa Min Qablu Mā Farraţtum Fī Yūsufa ۖ Falan 'Abraĥa Al-'Arđa Ĥattá Ya'dhana Lī 'Abī 'Aw Yaĥkuma Allāhu Lī ۖ Wa Huwa Khayru Al-Ĥākimīna (Yūsuf: 80). 012.080 Now when they saw no hope of his (yielding), they held a conference in private. The leader among them said: "Know ye not that your father did take an oath from you in God's name, and how, before this, ye did fail in your duty with Joseph? Therefore will I not leave this land until my father permits me, or God commands me; and He is the best to command. فَلَ‍‍مَّ‍‍ا‌ ‌اسْتَ‍‍يْ‍‍ئَسُوا مِ‍‌‍نْ‍‍هُ خَ‍‍لَ‍‍صُ‍‍وا نَجِيّاً ۖ قَ‍الَ كَبِيرُهُمْ ‌أَلَمْ تَعْلَمُ‍‍وا ‌أَنّ‌َ ‌أَبَاكُمْ قَ‍‍دْ أَ‍خَ‍‍ذَ‌ عَلَيْكُمْ مَوْثِ‍‍ق‍‍اً مِنَ ‌اللَّ‍‍هِ ‌وَمِ‍‌‍ن‌ْ قَ‍‍بْ‍‍لُ مَا‌ فَ‍رَّ‍ط‍‍‍‍تُمْ فِي يُوسُفَ ۖ فَلَ‍‌‍ن‌ْ ‌أَبْ‍‍‍رَحَ ‌الأَ‌رْضَ حَتَّى‌ يَأْ‌ذَنَ لِ‍‍ي ‌أَبِ‍‍ي ‌أَ‌وْ‌ يَحْكُمَ ‌اللَّ‍‍هُ لِي ۖ ‌وَهُوَ خَ‍‍يْ‍‍رُ‌ ‌الْحَاكِمِينَ
Arji`ū 'Ilá 'Abīkum Faqūlū Yā 'Abānā 'Inna Abnaka Saraqa Wa Mā Shahidnā 'Illā Bimā `Alimnā Wa Mā Kunnā Lilghaybi Ĥāfižīna (Yūsuf: 81). 012.081 "Turn ye back to your father, and say, 'O our father! behold! thy son committed theft! we bear witness only to what we know, and we could not well guard against the unseen! ا‌رْجِعُ‍‍وا ‌إِلَ‍‍ى أَبِيكُمْ فَ‍‍‍‍قُ‍‍ولُوا يَ‍‍ا أَبَانَ‍‍ا إِنّ‌َ ‌ابْ‍‍نَكَ سَ‍رَقَ ‌وَمَا‌ شَهِ‍‍دْنَ‍‍ا إِلاَّ‌ بِمَا‌ عَلِمْنَا وَمَا‌ كُ‍‍نَّ‍‍ا‌ لِلْ‍‍غَ‍‍يْ‍‍بِ حَافِ‍‍ظِ‍‍ينَ
Wa As'ali Al-Qaryata Allatī Kunnā Fīhā Wa Al-`Īra Allatī 'Aqbalnā Fīhā ۖ Wa 'Innā Laşādiqūna (Yūsuf: 82). 012.082 "'Ask at the town where we have been and the caravan in which we returned, and (you will find) we are indeed telling the truth.'" وَ‌اسْأَلِ ‌الْ‍‍‍‍قَ‍‍رْيَةَ ‌الَّتِي كُ‍‍نَّ‍‍ا‌ فِيهَا وَ‌الْع‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍رَ ‌الَّتِ‍‍ي ‌أَ‍قْ‍‍‍‍بَلْنَا‌ فِيهَا‌ ۖ ‌وَ‌إِنَّ‍‍ا‌ لَ‍‍صَ‍‍ا‌دِ‍قُ‍‍ونَ
Qāla Bal Sawwalat Lakum 'Anfusukum 'Aman ۖ Faşabrun Jamīlun ۖ `Asá Allāhu 'An Ya'tiyanī Bihim Jamī`āan ۚ 'Innahu Huwa Al-`Alīmu Al-Ĥakīmu (Yūsuf: 83). 012.083 Jacob said: "Nay, but ye have yourselves contrived a story (good enough) for you. So patience is most fitting (for me). Maybe God will bring them (back) all to me (in the end). For He is indeed full of knowledge and wisdom." قَ‍الَ بَلْ سَوَّلَتْ لَكُمْ ‌أَ‌ن‍‍فُسُكُمْ ‌أَمْر‌اً ۖ فَ‍‍صَ‍‍بْ‍‍رٌ جَم‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍لٌ ۖ عَسَى‌ ‌اللَّ‍‍هُ ‌أَ‌ن‌ْ يَأْتِيَنِي بِهِمْ جَمِيعاً ۚ ‌إِنَّ‍‍هُ هُوَ ‌الْعَل‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍مُ ‌الْحَكِيمُ
Wa Tawallá `Anhum Wa Qāla Yā 'Asafá `Alá Yūsufa Wa Abyađđat `Aynāhu Mina Al-Ĥuzni Fahuwa Kažīmun (Yūsuf: 84). 012.084 And he turned away from them, and said: "How great is my grief for Joseph!" And his eyes became white with sorrow, and he fell into silent melancholy. وَتَوَلَّى‌ عَ‍‌‍نْ‍‍هُمْ ‌وَ‍‍قَ‍الَ يَ‍‍ا أَسَفَى‌ عَلَى‌ يُوسُفَ ‌وَ‌ابْ‍‍يَ‍‍ضَّ‍‍تْ عَيْن‍‍َاهُ مِنَ ‌الْحُزْنِ فَهُوَ‌ كَ‍‍ظِ‍‍يمٌ
Qālū Ta-Allāhi Tafta'u Tadhkuru Yūsufa Ĥattá Takūna Ĥarađāan 'Aw Takūna Mina Al-Hālikīna (Yūsuf: 85). 012.085 They said: "By God! (never) wilt thou cease to remember Joseph until thou reach the last extremity of illness, or until thou die!" قَ‍‍الُوا تَاللَّهِ تَفْتَأُ‌ تَذْكُرُ‌ يُوسُفَ حَتَّى‌ تَك‍‍ُ‍ونَ حَ‍رَض‍‍اً أَ‌وْ‌ تَك‍‍ُ‍ونَ مِنَ ‌الْهَالِكِينَ
Qāla 'Innamā 'Ashkū Baththī Wa Ĥuznī 'Ilá Allāhi Wa 'A`lamu Mina Allāhi Mā Lā Ta`lamūna (Yūsuf: 86). 012.086 He said: "I only complain of my distraction and anguish to God, and I know from God that which ye know not... قَ‍الَ ‌إِنَّ‍‍مَ‍‍ا أَشْكُو‌ بَثِّي ‌وَحُزْنِ‍‍ي ‌إِلَى‌ ‌اللَّ‍‍هِ ‌وَ‌أَعْلَمُ مِنَ ‌اللَّ‍‍هِ مَا‌ لاَ‌ تَعْلَمُونَ
Yā Banīya Adh/habū Fataĥassasū Min Yūsufa Wa 'Akhīhi Wa Lā Tay'asū Min Raw3i Allāhi ۖ 'Innahu Lā Yay'asu Min Raw3i Allāhi 'Illā Al-Qawmu Al-Kāfirūna (Yūsuf: 87). 012.087 "O my sons! go ye and enquire about Joseph and his brother, and never give up hope of God's Soothing Mercy: truly no one despairs of God's Soothing Mercy, except those who have no faith." يَا‌ بَنِيَّ ‌ا‌ذْهَبُوا فَتَحَسَّسُوا مِ‍‌‍ن‌ْ يُوسُفَ ‌وَ‌أَ‍‍خِ‍‍ي‍‍هِ ‌وَلاَ‌ تَ‍‍يْ‍‍ئَسُوا مِ‍‌‍ن‌ْ ‌‍رَ‌وْحِ ‌اللَّ‍‍هِ ۖ ‌إِنَّ‍‍هُ لاَ‌ يَ‍‍يْ‍‍ئَسُ مِ‍‌‍ن‌ْ ‌‍رَ‌وْحِ ‌اللَّ‍‍هِ ‌إِلاَّ ‌الْ‍‍قَ‍‍وْمُ ‌الكَافِرُ‌ونَ
Falammā Dakhalū `Alayhi Qālū Yā 'Ayyuhā Al-`Azīzu Massanā Wa 'Ahlanā Ađ-Đurru Wa Ji'nā Bibiđā`atin Muzjāatin Fa'awfi Lanā Al-Kayla Wa Taşaddaq `Alaynā ۖ 'Inna Allāha Yaj Al-Mutaşaddiqīna (Yūsuf: 88). 012.088 Then, when they came (back) into (Joseph's) presence they said: "O exalted one! distress has seized us and our family: we have (now) brought but scanty capital: so pay us full measure, (we pray thee), and treat it as charity to us: for God doth reward the charitable." فَلَ‍‍مَّ‍‍ا دَ‍‍خَ‍‍لُوا عَلَ‍‍يْ‍‍هِ قَ‍‍الُوا يَ‍‍ا أَيُّهَا‌ ‌الْعَز‍ِ‍ي‍‍زُ‌ مَسَّنَا وَ‌أَهْلَنَا‌ ‌ال‍‍ضُّ‍‍رُّ وَجِئْنَا‌ بِبِ‍‍ضَ‍‍اعَةٍ مُزْج‍‍َاةٍ فَأَ‌وْفِ لَنَا‌ ‌الْكَ‍‍يْ‍‍لَ ‌وَتَ‍‍صَ‍‍دَّ‍ق‌ْ عَلَيْنَ‍‍اۖ ‌إِنّ‌َ ‌اللَّ‍‍هَ يَ‍‍جْ‍‍زِي ‌الْمُتَ‍‍صَ‍‍دِّ‍‍قِ‍‍ينَ
Qāla Hal `Alimtum Mā Fa`altum Biyūsufa Wa 'Akhīhi 'Idh 'Antum Jāhilūna (Yūsuf: 89). 012.089 He said: "Know ye how ye dealt with Joseph and his brother, not knowing (what ye were doing)?" قَ‍الَ هَلْ عَلِمْتُمْ مَا‌ فَعَلْتُمْ بِيُوسُفَ ‌وَ‌أَ‍خِ‍‍ي‍‍هِ ‌إِ‌ذْ أَ‌نْ‍‍تُمْ جَاهِلُونَ
Qālū 'A'innaka La'anta Yūsufu ۖ Qāla 'Anā Yūsufu Wa Hadhā 'Akhī ۖ Qad Manna Allāhu `Alaynā ۖ 'Innahu Man Yattaqi Wa Yaşbir Fa'inna Allāha Lā Yuđī`u 'Ajra Al-Muĥsinīna (Yūsuf: 90). 012.090 They said: "Art thou indeed Joseph?" He said, "I am Joseph, and this is my brother: God has indeed been gracious to us (all): behold, he that is righteous and patient,- never will God suffer the reward to be lost, of those who do right." قَ‍‍الُ‍‍وا ‌أَئِ‍‍نَّ‍‍كَ لَأَ‌نْ‍‍تَ يُوسُفُ ۖ قَ‍الَ ‌أَنَا‌ يُوسُفُ ‌وَهَذَ‌ا أَ‍خِ‍‍ي ۖ قَ‍‍دْ‌ مَ‍‍نّ‌َ ‌اللَّ‍‍هُ عَلَيْنَ‍‍اۖ ‌إِنَّ‍‍هُ مَ‍‌‍ن‌ْ يَتَّ‍‍قِ ‌وَيَ‍‍صْ‍‍بِ‍‍ر‌ْ‌ فَإِنّ‌َ ‌اللَّ‍‍هَ لاَ‌ يُ‍‍ضِ‍‍ي‍‍عُ ‌أَجْ‍‍‍رَ‌الْمُحْسِنِينَ
Qālū Ta-Allāhi Laqadtharaka Allāhu `Alaynā Wa 'In Kunnā Lakhāţi'īna (Yūsuf: 91). 012.091 They said: "By God! indeed has God preferred thee above us, and we certainly have been guilty of sin!" قَ‍‍الُوا تَاللَّهِ لَ‍‍قَ‍‍دْ آثَ‍رَكَ ‌اللَّ‍‍هُ عَلَيْنَا وَ‌إِ‌ن‌ْ كُ‍‍نَّ‍‍ا‌ لَ‍‍خَ‍‍اطِ‍‍ئ‍‍ِ‍‍ينَ
Qāla Lā Tathrība `Alaykumu Al-Yawma ۖ Yaghfiru Allāhu Lakum ۖ Wa Huwa 'Arĥamu Ar-ĥimīna (Yūsuf: 92). 012.092 He said: "This day let no reproach be (cast) on you: God will forgive you, and He is the Most Merciful of those who show mercy! قَ‍الَ لاَ‌ تَثْ‍‍ر‍ِ‍ي‍‍بَ عَلَيْكُمُ ‌الْيَ‍‍وْمَ ۖ يَ‍‍غْ‍‍فِ‍‍رُ‌اللَّ‍‍هُ لَكُمْ ۖ ‌وَهُوَ أَ‌رْحَمُ ‌ال‍رَّ‌احِمِينَ
Adh/habū Biqamīşī Hādhā Fa'alqūhu `Alá Wajhi 'Abī Ya'ti Başīan Wa 'Tūnī Bi'ahlikum 'Ajma`īna (Yūsuf: 93). 012.093 "Go with this my shirt, and cast it over the face of my father: he will come to see (clearly). Then come ye (here) to me together with all your family." ا‌ذْهَبُوا بِ‍‍‍‍قَ‍‍مِي‍‍صِ‍‍ي هَذَ‌ا‌ فَأَلْ‍‍قُ‍‍وهُ عَلَى وَجْ‍‍هِ ‌أَبِي يَأْتِ بَ‍‍صِ‍‍ي‍‍ر‌اً ‌وَ‌أْتُونِي بِأَهْلِكُمْ ‌أَجْ‍‍مَعِينَ
Wa Lammā Faşalati Al-`Īru Qāla 'Abūhum 'Innī La'ajidu Rīĥa Yūsufa ۖ Lawlā 'An Tufannidūni (Yūsuf: 94). 012.094 When the caravan left (Egypt), their father said: "I do indeed scent the presence of Joseph: Nay, think me not a dotard." وَلَ‍‍مَّ‍‍ا‌ فَ‍‍‍‍صَ‍‍لَتِ ‌الْع‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍رُقَ‍الَ ‌أَبُوهُمْ ‌إِنِّ‍‍ي لَأَجِدُ‌ ‌ر‍ِ‍ي‍‍حَ يُوسُفَ ۖ لَوْلاَ أَ‌ن‌ْ تُفَ‍‍نِّ‍‍دُ‌ونِ
Qālū Ta-Allāhi 'Innaka Lafī Đalālika Al-Qadīmi (Yūsuf: 95). 012.095 They said: "By God! truly thou art in thine old wandering mind." قَ‍‍الُوا تَاللَّهِ ‌إِنَّ‍‍كَ لَفِي ضَ‍‍لاَلِكَ ‌الْ‍‍قَ‍‍دِيمِ
Falammā 'An Jā'a Al-Bashīru 'Alqāhu `Alá Wajhihi Fārtadda Başīan Qāla ۖ 'Alam 'Aqul Lakum 'Innī 'A`lamu Mina Allāhi Mā Lā Ta`lamūna (Yūsuf: 96). 012.096 Then when the bearer of the good news came, He cast (the shirt) over his face, and he forthwith regained clear sight. He said: "Did I not say to you, 'I know from God that which ye know not?'" فَلَ‍‍مَّ‍‍ا أَ‌ن‌ْ ج‍‍َا‌ءَ ‌الْبَش‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍رُ‌أَلْ‍‍‍‍قَ‍اهُ عَلَى وَجْ‍‍هِهِ فَا‌رْتَدَّ‌ بَ‍‍صِ‍‍ي‍‍ر‌اً ۖ قَ‍الَ ‌أَلَمْ ‌أَقُ‍‍لْ لَكُمْ ‌إِنِّ‍‍ي ‌أَعْلَمُ مِنَ ‌اللَّ‍‍هِ مَا‌ لاَ‌ تَعْلَمُونَ
Qālū Yā 'Abānā Astaghfir Lanā Dhunūbanā 'Innā Kunnā Khāţi'īna (Yūsuf: 97). 012.097 They said: "O our father! ask for us forgiveness for our sins, for we were truly at fault." قَ‍‍الُوا ي‍‍َا‌أَبَانَا‌ ‌اسْتَ‍‍غْ‍‍فِ‍‍ر‌ْ‌ لَنَا ذُنُوبَنَ‍‍ا إِنَّ‍‍ا‌ كُ‍‍نَّ‍‍ا‌ خَ‍‍اطِ‍‍ئ‍‍ِ‍‍ينَ
Qāla Sawfa 'Astaghfiru Lakum Rabbī ۖ 'Innahu Huwa Al-Ghafūru Ar-Raĥīmu (Yūsuf: 98). 012.098 He said: "Soon will I ask my Lord for forgiveness for you: for he is indeed Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful." قَ‍الَ سَ‍‍وْفَ ‌أَسْتَ‍‍غْ‍‍فِ‍‍رُلَكُمْ ‌‍رَبِّ‍‍ي ۖ ‌إِنَّ‍‍هُ هُوَ ‌الْ‍‍غَ‍‍ف‍‍ُ‍و‌رُ‌ ‌ال‍رَّحِيمُ
Falammā Dakhalū `Alá Yūsufa 'Āwá 'Ilayhi 'Abawayhi Wa Qāla Adkhulū Mişra 'In Shā'a Allāhu 'Āminīna (Yūsuf: 99). 012.099 Then when they entered the presence of Joseph, he provided a home for his parents with himself, and said: "Enter ye Egypt (all) in safety if it please God." فَلَ‍‍مَّ‍‍ا دَ‍‍خَ‍‍لُوا عَلَى‌ يُوسُفَ ‌آ‌وَ‌ى إِلَ‍‍يْ‍‍هِ ‌أَبَوَيْ‍‍هِ ‌وَقَ‍الَ ‌ا‌دْ‍خُ‍‍لُوا مِ‍‍صْ‍رَ إِ‌ن‌ْ ش‍‍َا‌ءَ ‌اللَّ‍‍هُ ‌آمِنِينَ
Wa Rafa`a 'Abawayhi `Alá Al-`Arshi Wa Kharrū Lahu Sujjadāan ۖ Wa Qāla Yā 'Abati Hādhā Ta'w9lu Ru'uyā Y Min Qablu Qad Ja`alahā Rabbī ۖ Ĥaqqāan Wa Qad 'Aĥsana Bī 'Idh 'Akhrajanī Mina As-Sijni Wa Jā'a Bikum Mina Al-Badwi Min Ba`di 'An Nazagha Ash-Shayţānu Bayn99 Wa Bayna ۚ 'Ikhwatī 'Inna Rabbī Laţīfun Limā ۚ Yashā'u 'Innahu Huwa Al-`Alīmu Al-Ĥakīmu (Yūsuf: 100). 012.100 And he raised his parents high on the throne (of dignity), and they fell down in prostration, (all) before him. He said: "O my father! this is the fulfilment of my vision of old! God hath made it come true! He was indeed good to me when He took me out of prison and brought you (all here) out of the desert, (even) after Satan had sown enmity between me and my brothers. Verily my Lord understandeth best the mysteries of all that He planneth to do, for verily He is full of knowledge and wisdom. وَ‌‍‍‍رَفَعَ ‌أَبَوَيْ‍‍هِ عَلَى‌ ‌الْعَرْشِ ‌وَ‍خَ‍‍رُّ‌وا لَهُ سُجَّد‌اً ۖ ‌وَقَ‍الَ ي‍‍َا‌أَبَتِ هَذَ‌ا‌ تَأْ‌و‍ِ‍ي‍‍لُ ‌رُ‌ؤْيَاي مِ‍‌‍ن‌ْ قَ‍‍بْ‍‍لُ قَ‍‍دْ‌ جَعَلَهَا ‍رَبِّي حَ‍‍قّ‍‍اً ۖ ‌وَقَ‍‍دْ‌ ‌أَحْسَنَ بِ‍‍ي ‌إِ‌ذْ أَ‍خْ‍رَجَنِي مِنَ ‌ال‍‍سِّ‍‍جْ‍‍نِ ‌وَج‍‍َا‌ءَ‌ بِكُمْ مِنَ ‌الْبَ‍‍دْ‌وِ‌ مِ‍‌‍ن‌ْ بَعْدِ أَ‌ن‌ْ نَزَغَ ‌ال‍‍شَّيْ‍‍طَ‍انُ بَيْنِي ‌وَبَ‍‍يْ‍‍نَ ‌إِخْ‍‍وَتِ‍‍ي ۚ ‌إِنّ‌َ ‌‍رَبِّي لَ‍‍طِ‍‍ي‍‍ف ٌ لِمَا‌ يَش‍‍َا‌ءُ‌ ۚ ‌إِنَّ‍‍هُ هُوَ ‌الْعَل‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍مُ ‌الْحَكِيمُ
Rabbi Qad 'Ātaytanī Mina Al-Mulki Wa `Allamtanī Min Ta'w9li Al-'Aĥādīthi ۚţira As-Samāwāti Wa Al-'Arđi 'Anta Wa Līyi Fī Ad-Dunyā Wa Al-'Ākhirati ۖ Tawaffanī Muslimāan Wa 'Alĥiqnī Biş-Şāliĥīna (Yūsuf: 101). 012.101 "O my Lord! Thou hast indeed bestowed on me some power, and taught me something of the interpretation of dreams and events,- O Thou Creator of the heavens and the earth! Thou art my Protector in this world and in the Hereafter. Take Thou my soul (at death) as one submitting to Thy will (as a Muslim), and unite me with the righteous." ‍‍‍رَبِّ قَ‍‍دْ آتَيْتَنِي مِنَ ‌الْمُلْكِ ‌وَعَلَّمْتَنِي مِ‍‌‍ن‌ْ تَأْ‌و‍ِ‍ي‍‍لِ ‌الأَحَا‌د‍ِ‍ي‍‍ثِ ۚ فَاطِ‍‍رَ ‌ال‍‍سَّمَا‌و‍َ‍‌اتِ ‌وَ‌الأَ‌رْضِ ‌أَ‌نْ‍‍تَ ‌وَلِيِّ فِي ‌ال‍‍دُّ‌نْ‍‍يَا وَ‌الآ‍‍خِ‍رَةِ ۖ تَوَفَّنِي مُسْلِماً ‌وَ‌أَلْحِ‍‍قْ‍‍‍‍نِي بِ‌ال‍‍صَّ‍‍الِحِينَ
Dhālika Min 'Anbā'i Al-Ghaybi Nūĥīhi 'Ilayka ۖ Wa Mā Kunta Ladayhim 'Idh 'Ajma`ū 'Amrahum Wa Hum Yamkurūna (Yūsuf: 102). 012.102 Such is one of the stories of what happened unseen, which We reveal by inspiration unto thee; nor wast thou (present) with them then when they concerted their plans together in the process of weaving their plots. ذَلِكَ مِ‍‌‍ن‌ْ ‌أَ‌نْ‍‍ب‍‍َا‌ءِ‌ ‌الْ‍‍‍‍غَ‍‍يْ‍‍بِ نُوح‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍هِ ‌إِلَ‍‍يْ‍‍كَ ۖ ‌وَمَا‌ كُ‍‌‍ن‍‍تَ لَدَيْهِمْ ‌إِ‌ذْ أَجْ‍‍مَعُ‍‍وا ‌أَمْ‍رَهُمْ ‌وَهُمْ يَمْكُرُ‌ونَ
Wa Mā 'Aktharu An-Nāsi Wa Law Ĥaraşta Bimu'uminīna (Yūsuf: 103). 012.103 Yet no faith will the greater part of mankind have, however ardently thou dost desire it. وَمَ‍‍ا أَكْثَرُ‌ ‌ال‍‍نّ‍‍َاسِ ‌وَلَوْ‌ حَ‍‍‍رَصْ‍‍تَ بِمُؤْمِنِينَ
Wa Mā Tas'aluhum `Alayhi Min 'Ajrin ۚ 'In Huwa 'Illā Dhikrun Lil`ālamīna (Yūsuf: 104). 012.104 And no reward dost thou ask of them for this: it is no less than a message for all creatures. وَمَا‌ تَسْأَلُهُمْ عَلَ‍‍يْ‍‍هِ مِ‍‌‍ن‌ْ ‌أَجْ‍‍ر‌‌ٍ ۚ ‌إِ‌ن‌ْ هُوَ إِلاَّ ذِكْر‌ٌ لِلْعَالَمِينَ
Wa Ka'ayyin Min 'Āyatin As-Samāwāti Wa Al-'Arđi Yamurrūna `Alayhā Wa Hum `Anhā Mu`rūna (Yūsuf: 105). 012.105 And how many Signs in the heavens and the earth do they pass by? Yet they turn (their faces) away from them! وَكَأَيِّ‍‌‍ن‌ْ مِ‍‌‍ن‌ْ ‌آيَةٍ فِي ‌ال‍‍سَّمَا‌و‍َ‍‌اتِ ‌وَ‌الأَ‌رْ‍‍ضِ يَمُرّ‍ُ‍‌ونَ عَلَيْهَا وَهُمْ عَ‍‌‍نْ‍‍هَا‌ مُعْ‍‍رِ‍ضُ‍‍ونَ
Wa Mā Yu'uminu 'Aktharuhum Billāhi 'Illā Wa Hum Mushrikūna (Yūsuf: 106). 012.106 And most of them believe not in God without associating (other as partners) with Him! وَمَا‌ يُؤْمِنُ ‌أَكْثَرُهُمْ بِ‌اللَّ‍‍هِ ‌إِلاَّ وَهُمْ مُشْ‍‍رِكُونَ
'Afa'aminū 'An Ta'tiyahum Ghāshiyatun Min `Adhābi Allāhi 'Aw Ta'tiyahumu As-Sā`atu Baghtatan Wa Hum Lā Yash`urūna (Yūsuf: 107). 012.107 Do they then feel secure from the coming against them of the covering veil of the wrath of God,- or of the coming against them of the (final) Hour all of a sudden while they perceive not? أَفَأَمِنُ‍‍وا ‌أَ‌ن‌ْ تَأْتِيَهُمْ غَ‍‍اشِيَةٌ مِ‍‌‍ن‌ْ عَذ‍َ‍‌ابِ ‌اللَّ‍‍هِ ‌أَ‌وْ‌ تَأْتِيَهُمُ ‌ال‍‍سَّاعَةُ بَ‍‍غْ‍‍تَةً ‌وَهُمْ لاَ‌ يَشْعُرُ‌ونَ
Qul Hadhihi Sabīlī 'Ad`ū 'Ilá Allāhi ۚ `Alá Başīratin 'Anā Wa Mani Attaba`anī ۖ Wa Subĥāna Allāhi Wa Mā 'Anā Mina Al-Mushrikīna (Yūsuf: 108). 012.108 Say thou: "This is my way: I do invite unto God,- on evidence clear as the seeing with one's eyes,- I and whoever follows me. Glory to God! and never will I join gods with God!" قُ‍‍لْ هَذِهِ سَبِيلِ‍‍ي ‌أَ‌دْعُو إِلَى‌ ‌اللَّ‍‍هِ ۚ عَلَى‌ بَ‍‍صِ‍‍ي‍رَةٍ ‌أَنَا وَمَنِ ‌اتَّبَعَنِي ۖ ‌وَسُ‍‍بْ‍‍ح‍‍َانَ ‌اللَّ‍‍هِ ‌وَمَ‍‍ا أَنَا‌ مِنَ ‌الْمُشْ‍‍رِكِينَ
Wa Mā 'Arsalnā Min Qablika 'Illā Rijālāan Nūĥī 'Ilayhim Min 'Ahli Al-Qurá ۗ 'Afalam Yasīrū Fī Al-'Arđi Fayanžurū Kayfa Kāna `Āqibatu Al-Ladhīna Min Qablihim ۗ Wa Ladāru Al-'Ākhirati Khayrun Lilladhīna Attaqawā ۗ 'Afalā Ta`qilūna (Yūsuf: 109). 012.109 Nor did We send before thee (as apostles) any but men, whom we did inspire,- (men) living in human habitations. Do they not travel through the earth, and see what was the end of those before them? But the home of the hereafter is best, for those who do right. Will ye not then understand? وَمَ‍‍ا أَ‌رْسَلْنَا‌ مِ‍‌‍ن‌ْ قَ‍‍بْ‍‍لِكَ ‌إِلاَّ ‌رِجَالاً نُوحِ‍‍ي ‌إِلَيْهِمْ مِ‍‌‍ن‌ْ ‌أَهْلِ ‌الْ‍‍قُ‍رَ‌ىۗ ‌أَفَلَمْ يَسِيرُ‌وا فِي ‌الأَ‌رْضِ فَيَ‍‌‍نْ‍‍‍‍ظُ‍‍رُ‌وا كَ‍‍يْ‍‍فَ ك‍‍َانَ عَاقِ‍‍بَةُ ‌الَّذ‍ِ‍ي‍‍نَ مِ‍‌‍ن‌ْ قَ‍‍بْ‍‍لِهِمْ ۗ ‌وَلَد‍َ‌ارُ‌ ‌الآ‍‍خِ‍رَةِ خَ‍‍يْ‍‍ر‌ٌ لِلَّذ‍ِ‍ي‍‍نَ ‌اتَّ‍‍قَ‍‍وْ‌ا‌ ۗ ‌أَفَلاَ‌ تَعْ‍‍قِ‍‍لُونَ
Ĥattá 'Idhā Astay'asa Ar-Rusulu Wa Žannū 'Annahum Qad Kudhibū Jā'ahum Naşrunā Fanujjiya Man Nashā'u ۖ Wa Lā Yuraddu Ba'sunā `Ani Al-Qawmi Al-Mujrimīna (Yūsuf: 110). 012.110 (Respite will be granted) until, when the apostles give up hope (of their people) and (come to) think that they were treated as liars, there reaches them Our help, and those whom We will are delivered into safety. But never will be warded off our punishment from those who are in sin. حَتَّ‍‍ى إِ‌ذَ‌ا‌ ‌اسْتَ‍‍يْ‍‍ئَسَ ‌ال‍‍رُّسُلُ ‌وَ‍‍ظَ‍‍نُّ‍‍وا ‌أَنَّ‍‍هُمْ قَ‍‍دْ‌ كُذِبُوا ج‍‍َا‌ءَهُمْ نَ‍‍صْ‍‍رُنَا‌ فَنُجِّيَ مَ‍‌‍ن‌ْ نَش‍‍َا‌ءُ‌ ۖ ‌وَلاَ‌ يُ‍رَ‌دُّ‌ بَأْسُنَا‌ عَنِ ‌الْ‍‍قَ‍‍وْمِ ‌الْمُ‍‍جْ‍‍رِمِينَ
Laqad Kāna Fī Qaşaşihim `Ibratun Li'wl99 Al-'Albābi ۗ Mā Kāna Ĥadīthāan Yuftará Wa Lakin Taşdīqa Al-Ladhī Bayna Yadayhi Wa Tafşīla Kulli Shay'in Wa Hudan Wa Raĥmatan Liqawmin Yu'uminūna (Yūsuf: 111). 012.111 There is, in their stories, instruction for men endued with understanding. It is not a tale invented, but a confirmation of what went before it,- a detailed exposition of all things, and a guide and a mercy to any such as believe. لَ‍‍قَ‍‍دْ‌ ك‍‍َانَ فِي قَ‍‍صَ‍‍صِ‍‍هِمْ عِ‍‍بْ‍‍‍رَة ٌ لِأ‌و‍‍ْ‍لِي ‌الأَلْب‍‍َابِ ۗ مَا‌ ك‍‍َانَ حَدِيثاً يُفْتَ‍رَ‌ى وَلَكِ‍‌‍ن‌ْ تَ‍‍صْ‍‍د‍ِ‍ي‍‍قَ ‌الَّذِي بَ‍‍يْ‍‍نَ يَدَيْ‍‍هِ ‌وَتَفْ‍‍صِ‍‍ي‍‍لَ كُلِّ شَ‍‍يْء‌ٍ ‌وَهُ‍‍د‌ىً ‌وَ‌‍رَحْمَة ً‌ لِ‍‍قَ‍‍وْمٍ يُؤْمِنُونَ
