   104.001 Woe unto every slandering traducer,

   وَيْل ٌ لِكُلِّ هُمَزَةٍ لُمَزَةٍ | 
 
       
   Al-Ladhī Jama`a Mālāan Wa `Addadahu (Al-Humazah: 2).

   104.002 Who hath gathered wealth (of this world) and arranged it.
 | 
   الَّذِي جَمَعَ مَالاً وَعَدَّدَهُ | 
 
       
   Yaĥsabu 'Anna Mālahu 'Akhladahu (Al-Humazah: 3).

   104.003 He thinketh that his wealth will render him immortal.

   يَحْسَبُ أَنَّ مَالَهُ أَخْلَدَهُ | 
 
       
   Kallā ۖ Layunbadhanna Fī Al-Ĥuţamahi (Al-Humazah: 4).

   104.004 Nay, but verily he will be flung to the Consuming One.

   كَلاَّ ۖ لَيُنْبَذَنَّ فِي الْحُطَمَةِ  | 
 
       
    Wa Mā 'Adrāka Mā Al-Ĥuţamahu (Al-Humazah: 5). 
  
         | 
   104.005 Ah, what will convey unto thee what the Consuming One is!
 | 
   وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا الْحُطَمَةُ | 
 
       
   Nāru Allāhi Al-Mūqadahu (Al-Humazah: 6). 
  
         | 
   104.006 (It is) the fire of Allah, kindled,
 | 
   نَارُ اللَّهِ الْمُوقَدَةُ | 
 
       
   Allatī Taţţali`u `Alá Al-'Af'idahi (Al-Humazah: 7). 
  
         | 
   104.007 Which leapeth up over the hearts (of men).
 | 
   الَّتِي تَطَّلِعُ عَلَى الأَفْئِدَةِ | 
 
       
   'Innahā `Alayhim Mu'uşadahun (Al-Humazah: 8).

   104.008 Lo! it is closed in on them
 | 
   إِنَّهَا عَلَيْهِمْ مُؤصَدَةٌ | 
 
       
   Fī `Amadin Mumaddadahin (Al-Humazah: 9).
