'Alam Tará Kay fa Fa`ala Ra bbuka Bi'aş ĥā bi A l-Fīl
Have you (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) not seen how your Lord dealt with the Owners of the Elephant? [The elephant army which came from Yemen under the command of Abrahah Al-Ashram intending to destroy the Ka'bah at Makkah]. (Al-Fil 105:1)
أَلَمْ تَرَ ى كَيْ فَ فَعَلَ رَ بُّكَ بِأَصْ حَا بِ ا لْفِيل
'Alam Yaj `al Kaydahum Fī Tađlī lin
Did He not make their plot go astray? (Al-Fil 105:2)
أَلَمْ يَجْ عَلْ كَيْدَهُمْ فِي تَضْ لِيلٍ
Wa 'Arsala `Alayhim Ţ ayrā an 'Abābī la
And sent against them birds, in flocks, (Al-Fil 105:3)
وَأَرْسَلَ عَلَيْهِمْ طَ يْراً أَبَابِيلَ
Tarmīhim Biĥijāra tin Min Sijjī lin
Striking them with stones of Sijjīl. (Al-Fil 105:4)
تَرْمِيهِمْ بِحِجَارَ ةٍ مِن ْ سِجِّيلٍ
Faja`alahum Ka`aş fin Ma'kū lin
And made them like an empty field of stalks (of which the corn has been eaten up by cattle). (Al-Fil 105:5)
فَجَعَلَهُمْ كَعَصْ فٍ مَأْكُولٍ
