'Inn ā 'An zalnā hu Fī Laylati A l-Q ad r i
Verily! We have sent it (this Qur'ān) down in the night of Al-Qadr (Decree) (Al-Qadr 97:1)
إِنَّ ا أَن زَلْنَا هُ فِي لَيْلَةِ ا لْقَ د ْر ِ
Wa Mā 'Ad r ā ka Mā Laylatu A l-Q ad r i
And what will make you know what the night of Al-Qadr (Decree) is? (Al-Qadr 97:2)
وَمَا أَد ْرَ ا كَ مَا لَيْلَةُ ا لْقَ د ْر ِ
Laylatu A l-Q ad r i Kh y ru n Min 'Alfi Sh ahr in
The night of Al-Qadr (Decree) is better than a thousand months (i.e. worshipping Allāh in that night is better than worshipping Him a thousand months, i.e. 83 years and 4 months). (Al-Qadr 97:3)
لَيْلَةُ ا لْقَ د ْر ِ خَ يْ رٌ مِن ْ أَلْفِ شَهْرٍ
Tanazzalu A l-Malā 'ikatu Wa A r-Rū ĥu Fīhā Bi'idh ni Ra bbihim Min Kulli 'Am r in
Therein descend the angels and the Rûh [Jibrael (Gabriel)] by Allāh's Permission with all Decrees, (Al-Qadr 97:4)
تَنَزَّلُ ا لْمَلاَئِكَةُ وَا ل رُّو حُ فِيهَا بِإِذْنِ رَ بِّهِمْ مِن ْ كُلِّ أَمْرٍ
Salā mun Hiya Ĥattá Maţ A l-Faj r i
Peace! (All that night, there is Peace and Goodness from Allāh to His believing slaves) until the appearance of dawn. (Al-Qadr 97:5)
