Wa Al-Layli 'Idhā Yaghshá
| By the night as it envelops; (Al-Lail 92:1)
|
وَاللَّيْلِ إِذَا يَغْشَى |
Wa An-Nahāri 'Idhā Tajallá
| And by the day as it appears in brightness; (Al-Lail 92:2)
|
وَالنَّهَارِ إِذَا تَجَلَّى |
Wa Mā Khalaqa Adh-Dhakara Wa Al-'Unthá
| And by Him Who created male and female; (Al-Lail 92:3)
|
وَمَا خَلَقَ الذَّكَرَ وَالأُنْثَى |
'Inna Sa`yakum Lashattá
| Certainly, your efforts and deeds are diverse (different in aims and purposes); (Al-Lail 92:4)
|
إِنَّ سَعْيَكُمْ لَشَتَّى |
Fa'ammā Man 'A`ţá Wa Attaqá
| As for him who gives (in charity) and keeps his duty to Allāh and fears Him, (Al-Lail 92:5)
|
فَأَمَّا مَنْ أَعْطَى وَاتَّقَى |
Wa Şaddaqa Bil-Ĥusná
| And believes in Al-Husna. (Al-Lail 92:6)
|
وَصَدَّقَ بِالْحُسْنَى |
Fasanuyassiruhu Lilyusrá
| We will make smooth for him the path of ease (goodness). (Al-Lail 92:7)
|
فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُ لِلْيُسْرَى |
Wa 'Ammā Man Bakhila Wa Astaghná
| But he who is greedy miser and thinks himself self-sufficient. (Al-Lail 92:8)
|
وَأَمَّا مَنْ بَخِلَ وَاسْتَغْنَى |
Wa Kadhdhaba Bil-Ĥusná
| And gives the lie to Al-Husna (see Verse No: 6 footnote); (Al-Lail 92:9)
|
وَكَذَّبَ بِالْحُسْنَى |
Fasanuyassiruhu Lil`usrá
| We will make smooth for him the path for evil; (Al-Lail 92:10)
|
فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُ لِلْعُسْرَى |
Wa Mā Yughnī `Anhu Māluhu~ 'Idhā Taraddá
| And what will his wealth benefit him when he goes down (in destruction). (Al-Lail 92:11)
|
وَمَا يُغْنِي عَنْهُ مَالُهُ~ُ إِذَا تَرَدَّى |
'Inna `Alaynā Lalhudá
| Truly! Ours it is (to give) guidance, (Al-Lail 92:12)
|
إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا لَلْهُدَى |
Wa 'Inna Lanā Lal'ākhirata Wa Al-'Ūlá
| And truly, unto Us (belong) the last (Hereafter) and the first (this world). (Al-Lail 92:13)
|
وَإِنَّ لَنَا لَلآخِرَةَ وَالأُولَى |
Fa'andhartukum Nārāan Talažžá
| Therefore I have warned you of a Fire blazing fiercely (Hell); (Al-Lail 92:14)
|
فَأَنْذَرْتُكُمْ نَارا ً تَلَظَّى |
Lā Yaşlāhā 'Illā Al-'Ashqá
| None shall enter it save the most wretched, (Al-Lail 92:15)
|
لاَ يَصْلاَهَا إِلاَّ الأَشْقَى |
Al-Ladhī Kadhdhaba Wa Tawallá
| Who denies and turns away. (Al-Lail 92:16)
|
الَّذِي كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلَّى |
Wa Sayujannabuhā Al-'Atqá
| And Al-Muttaqûn (the pious and righteous - see V.2:2) will be far removed from it (Hell). (Al-Lail 92:17)
|
وَسَيُجَنَّبُهَا الأَتْقَى |
Al-Ladhī Yu'utī Mālahu Yatazakká
| He who spends his wealth for increase in self-purification, (Al-Lail 92:18)
|
الَّذِي يُؤْتِي مَالَهُ يَتَزَكَّى |
Wa Mā Li'ĥadin `Indahu Min Ni`matin Tujzá
| And have in his mind no favour from anyone for which a reward is expected in return, (Al-Lail 92:19)
|
وَمَا لِأحَدٍ عِنْدَهُ مِنْ نِعْمَةٍ تُجْزَى |
'Illā Abtighā'a Wajhi Rabbihi Al-'A`lá
| Except only the desire to seek the Countenance of his Lord, the Most High; (Al-Lail 92:20)
|
إِلاَّ ابْتِغَاءَ وَجْهِ رَبِّهِ الأَعْلَى |
Wa Lasawfa Yarđá
| He surely will be pleased (when he will enter Paradise). (Al-Lail 92:21)

وَلَسَوْفَ يَرْضَى |
