'Alif-Lām-Mīm Alif, Lam, Meem. 002-001 --
Dhālika Al-Kitābu Lā Rayba ۛ Fīhi ۛ Hudan Lilmuttaqīna This is the Book in which there is no doubt, a guide for the righteous. 002-002 ‍‍ ‌ ‌‍ۛ‍‍‍ۛ‌ ‍‍‍
Al-Ladhīna Yu'uminūna Bil-Ghaybi Wa Yuqīmūna Aş-Şalāata Wa Mimmā Razaqnāhum Yunfiqūna Those who believe in the unseen, and perform the prayers, and give from what We have provided for them. 002-003 ‍‍‍‍ ‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍ ‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍ ‍‍‍ ‌‍‍‍‍‌ ‌‍‍‍‍ ‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍
Wa Al-Ladhīna Yu'uminūna Bimā 'Unzila 'Ilayka Wa Mā 'Unzila Min Qablika Wa Bil-'Ākhirati Humqinūna And those who believe in what was revealed to you, and in what was revealed before you, and are certain of the Hereafter. 002-004 ‍‍‍‍ ‍‍‍‌ ‌‌‍ ‌‍‍‍‍ ‌‍‌ ‌‌‍ ‍‌ ‍‍‍ ‌‍‍‍
'Ūlā'ika `Alá Hudan Min Rabbihim ۖ Wa 'Ūlā'ika Humu Al-Mufliĥūna These are upon guidance from their Lord. These are the successful. 002-005 ‍‍‌‍‍‍ ‌ ‍‌ ‍‌ ‌‍ ۖ ‌‌‍‍‌‍‍‍
'Inna Al-Ladhīna Kafarū Sawā'un `Alayhim 'A 'Andhartahum 'Am Lam Tundhirhum Lā Yu'uminūna As for those who disbelieve—it is the same for them, whether you have warned them, or have not warned them—they do not believe. 002-006 ‍‍‍‍ ‌‍‍‌‌‌ ‌‌ ‌‌‍‌ ‌ ‍‌‍‍‍‍ ‌
Khatama Allāhu `Alá Qulūbihim Wa `Alá Sam`ihim ۖ Wa `Alá 'Abşārihim Ghishāwatun ۖ Wa Lahum `Adhābun `Ažīmun God has set a seal on their hearts and on their hearing, and over their vision is a veil. They will have a severe torment. 002-007 ‍ ‌ ‍ ‌‌ ۖ ‌‍‌ ‌‍‍‍‍ ‍‌ۖ‍‍‌‍‍
Wa Mina An-Nāsi Man Yaqūlu 'Āmannā Billāhi Wa Bil-Yawmi Al-'Ākhiri Wa Mā Hum Bimu'uminīna Among the people are those who say, “We believe in God and in the Last Day,” but they are not believers. 002-008 ‍‍‍‍ ‍‌‍‍ ‌‍‍‍‍‌ ‍‍ ‌‍ ‍‍‍‌ ‌‌
Yukhādi`ūna Allāha Wa Al-Ladhīna 'Āmanū Wa Mā Yakhda`ūna 'Illā 'Anfusahum Wa Mā Yash`urūna They seek to deceive God and those who believe, but they deceive none but themselves, though they are not aware. 002-009 ‍‌‍‍‍ ‍ ‌‍‍‍‍ ‌‌ ‌‌ ‍‍‍‍‍‍‍ ‌‌ ‌‌‍ ‌‌ ‌
Qulūbihim Marađun Fazādahumu Allāhu Marađāan ۖ Wa Lahum `Adhābun 'Alīmun Bimā Kānū Yakdhibūna In their hearts is sickness, and God has increased their sickness. They will have a painful punishment because of their denial. 002-010 ‍ ‍‌ ‌‌ ‍ ‍ۖ‍‍‌ ‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‌ ‌
Wa 'Idhā Qīla Lahum Lā Tufsidū Fī Al-'Arđi Qālū 'Innamā Naĥnu Muşliĥūna And when it is said to them, “Do not make trouble on earth,” they say, “We are only reformers.” 002-011 ‌‌‌‌ ‍‍‍ ‌ ‌‌‍ ‍‍‌ ‌‍‌ ‍‍‍
'Alā 'Innahum Humu Al-Mufsidūna Wa Lakin Lā Yash`urūna In fact, they are the troublemakers, but they are not aware. 002-012 ‌ ‌‍‍‌ ‌‍‌ ‌ ‌
Wa 'Idhā Qīla Lahum 'Āminū Kamā 'Āmana An-Nāsu Qālū 'Anu'uminu Kamā 'Āmana As-Sufahā'u ۗ 'Alā 'Innahum Humu As-Sufahā'u Wa Lakin Lā Ya`lamūna And when it is said to them, “Believe as the people have believed,” they say, “Shall we believe as the fools have believed?” In fact, it is they who are the fools, but they do not know. 002-013 ‌‌‌‌ ‍‍‍ ‌‌ ‍‌ ‌ ‍‍‍‍ ‍‍‌ ‌ ‍‌ ‌ ‍‍‍‍‌‌ ۗ ‌‌ ‌‍‍‍‍‌‌ ‌‍‌
Wa 'Idhā Laqū Al-Ladhīna 'Āmanū Qālū 'Āmannā Wa 'Idhā Khalaw 'Ilá Shayāţīnihim Qālū 'Innā Ma`akum 'Innamā Naĥnu Mustahzi'ūna And when they come across those who believe, they say, “We believe”; but when they are alone with their devils, they say, “We are with you; we were only ridiculing.” 002-014 ‌‌‌‌ ‍‍‍‍‍‍‍ ‌‍‍‌ ‌‍‍‍‍‌ ‌‌‌‌‌ ‍‌‌ ‌‌ ‍‍‌ ‌‍‌ ‌‍‌ ‍‍‍
Al-Lahu Yastahzi'u Bihim Wa YamudduhumŢughyānihim Ya`mahūna It is God who ridicules them, and leaves them bewildered in their transgression. 002-015 ‍‍
'Ūlā'ika Al-Ladhīna Ashtaraw Ađ-Đalālata Bil-Hudá Famā Rabiĥat Tijāratuhum Wa Mā Kānū Muhtadīna Those are they who have bartered error for guidance; but their trade does not profit them, and they are not guided. 002-016 ‍‍‌‍‍‍ ‍‍‍‌‌‌ ‍‍‍ ‍‌‌ ‌ ‌‍ ‌‍ ‌‌
Mathaluhum Kamathali Al-Ladhī Astawqada Nāan Falammā 'Ađā'at Mā Ĥawlahu Dhahaba Allāhu Binūrihim Wa TarakahumŽulumātin Lā Yubşirūna Their likeness is that of a person who kindled a fire; when it illuminated all around him, God took away their light, and left them in darkness, unable to see. 002-017 ‍‌ ‌‌‌‌ ‍‍‍‌ ‌‍‌ ‌ ‍ ‌‍ ‍‍‍‍‌ ‌ ‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌
Şummun Bukmun `Umyun Fahum Lā Yarji`ūna Deaf, dumb, blind. They will not return. 002-018 ‍‌‍‌‌ ‌‌ ‌
'Aw Kaşayyibin Mina As-Samā'i Fīhi Žulumātun Wa Ra`dun Wa Barqun Yaj`alūna 'Aşābi`ahum Fīdhānihim Mina Aş-Şawā`iqi Ĥadhara Al-Mawti Wa ۚ Allāhu Muĥīţun Bil-Kāfirīna Or like a cloudburst from the sky, in which is darkness, and thunder, and lightning. They press their fingers into their ears from the thunderbolts, in fear of death. But God surrounds the disbelievers. 002-019 ‌‌ ‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‌ ‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌ ‌‌‍‌ ‌‍‌ ‍‍‍‍‍‍‍ ‌‍‍ ‍ ‌‌‌ ‍‍‍‌‍ ‌‍ ۚ‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‌ ‍
Yakādu Al-Barqu Yakhţafu 'Abşārahum ۖ Kullamā 'Ađā'a Lahum Mashaw Fīhi Wa 'Idhā 'Ažlama `Alayhim Qāmū ۚ Wa Law Shā'a Allāhu Ladhahaba Bisam`ihim Wa 'Abşārihim ۚ 'Inna Allāha `Alá Kulli Shay'in Qadīrun The lightning almost snatches their sight away. Whenever it illuminates for them, they walk in it; but when it grows dark over them, they stand still. Had God willed, He could have taken away their hearing and their sight. God is capable of everything. 002-020 ‍‍‌‌ ‍‍‍‍‍ ‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍ ۖ‌ ‌‍‌‌ ‌‌ ‍‍‍‍‍ ‌‌‌‌ ‌‍ۚ ‌‌ ‍‍‍‌‌ ‍ ‌‌‍‍‍‍ ۚ ‍ ‌ ‍
Yā 'Ayyuhā An-Nāsu A`budū Rabbakumu Al-Ladhī Khalaqakum Wa Al-Ladhīna Min Qablikum La`allakum Tattaqūna O people! Worship your Lord who created you and those before you, that you may attain piety. 002-021 ‌ ‌‌ ‍‍‍‍ ‌ ‌‍ ‍‍‍‍‍ ‌‍‍‍‍ ‍‌ ‍‍‍ ‍‍‍
Al-Ladhī Ja`ala Lakumu Al-'Arđa Firāshāan Wa As-Samā'a Binā'an Wa 'Anzala Mina As-Samā'i Mā'an Fa'akhraja Bihi Mina Ath-Thamarāti Rizqāan Lakum ۖ Falā Taj`alū Lillāh 'Andādāan Wa 'Antum Ta`lamūna He who made the earth a habitat for you, and the sky a structure, and sends water down from the sky, and brings out fruits thereby, as a sustenance for you. Therefore, do not assign rivals to God while you know. 002-022 ‌‍‌ ‌‍‍‍‍‌‌ ‍‍‍‌ ‌‌‌‍‍‍‍‌‌ ‍‍‍‌‌‌ ‍ ‍‍‍‌ ‌‍ۖ ‌ ‍‍‍ ‌‌‍‌‌‌‌ ‌‌‌
Wa 'In KuntumRaybin Mimmā Nazzalnā `Alá `Abdinā Fa'tū Bisūratin Min Mithlihi Wa AdShuhadā'akum Min Dūni Allāhi 'In Kuntum Şādiqīna And if you are in doubt about what We have revealed to Our servant, then produce a chapter like these, and call your witnesses apart from God, if you are truthful. 002-023 ‌‌ ‍‌‍‍‍ ‌‍‌ ‍‍‍‍‌ ‌ ‌ ‍‍‍‍‌ ‌ ‌‍‌ ‍‌‍‍‌‌ ‍‌‍‍‌ ‍ ‌‌ ‍‌‍‍‍‌
Fa'in Lam Taf`alū Wa Lan Taf`alū Fa Attaqū An-Nāra Allatī Waqūduhā An-Nāsu Wa Al-Ĥijāratu ۖ 'U`iddat Lilkāfirīna But if you do not—and you will not—then beware the Fire whose fuel is people and stones, prepared for the disbelievers. 002-024 ‌ ‌‍‌ ‌ ‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍ ‌‍‍‌‌ ‍‍‍‍‌‍ ۖ ‌ ‍
Wa Bashshiri Al-Ladhīna 'Āmanū Wa `Amilū Aş-Şāliĥāti 'Anna Lahum Jannātin Tajrī Min Taĥtihā Al-'Anhāru ۖ Kullamā Ruziqū Minhā Min Thamaratin Rizqāan ۙ Qālū Hādhā Al-Ladhī Ruziqnā Min Qablu ۖ Wa 'Utū Bihi Mutashābihāan ۖ Wa Lahum Fīhā 'Azwājun Muţahharatun ۖ Wa Hum Fīhā Khālidūna And give good news to those who believe and do righteous deeds; that they will have gardens beneath which rivers flow. Whenever they are provided with fruit therefrom as sustenance, they will say, “This is what we were provided with before,” and they will be given the like of it. And they will have pure spouses therein, and they will abide therein forever. 002-025 ‍‍‍‍ ‌‌ ‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌ ‍‍‍ ‍‌‍‍‍‍‌‌ ۖ ‌ ‌‌‌ ‍‌‍‍‍‌ ‍‌‌‍‍‌ۙ ‌ ‌‌ ‌‌‍‍‍‌ ‍‌ ‍‍ۖ ‌‌‌ ‍ ۖ ‌ ‍‌ ‌‌‌‍‍‌‌ ‍‍‍‍‍ۖ ‌ ‌ ‍‌
'Inna Allāha Lā Yastaĥyī 'An Yađriba Mathalāan Mā Ba`ūđatan Famā Fawqahā ۚ Fa'ammā Al-Ladhīna 'Āmanū Faya`lamūna 'Annahu Al-Ĥaqqu Min Rabbihim ۖ Wa 'Ammā Al-Ladhīna Kafarū Fayaqūlūna Mādhā 'Arāda Allāhu Bihadhā Mathalāan ۘ Yuđillu Bihi Kathīrāan Wa Yahdī Bihi Kathīrāan ۚ Wa Mā Yuđillu Bihi~ 'Illā Al-Fāsiqīna God does not shy away from making an example of a gnat, or something above it. As for those who believe, they know that it is the Truth from their Lord. But as for those who disbelieve, they say, “What did God intend by this example?” He leads astray many thereby, and He guides many thereby; but He misleads thereby only the evildoers. 002-026 ‍ ‌ ‍ ‌‌‍‍ ‌ ‌ ‍‌ ‌ ‌ ‍‍‌ ۚ ‍‌ ‍‍‍‍ ‌‌ ‍‍‍ ‍‌ ‌‍ ۖ ‌‌‍‌ ‍‍‍‍ ‌‌ ‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌ ‌‌‍‌‌‌ ‍ ‌‌ ۘ‍‍‍ ‍‌ ‌ ‍ۚ ‌‌ ‍‍‍‍ ‌‌ ‍‍
Al-Ladhīna Yanqūna `Ahda Allāhi Min Ba`di Mīthāqihi Wa Yaqţa`ūna Mā 'Amara Allāhu Bihi~ 'Anşala Wa Yufsidūna Fī Al-'Arđi ۚ 'Ūlā'ika Humu Al-Khāsirūna Those who violate God’s covenant after its confirmation, and sever what God has commanded to be joined, and commit evil on earth. These are the losers. 002-027 ‍‍‍‍ ‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍ ‍‌ ‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌ ‌‍‍ ‌‌ ‍ ‌‍‍‌ ‌‍ ۚ‍‍‌‍‍‍ ‍‍‍‌
Kayfa Takfurūna Billāhi Wa Kuntum 'Amwātāan Fa'aĥyākum ۖ Thumma Yumītukum Thumma Yuĥyīkum Thumma 'Ilayhi Turja`ūna How can you deny God, when you were dead and He gave you life, then He will put you to death, then He will bring you to life, then to Him you will be returned? 002-028 ‍‍‍‍‌‍ ‌‍‌‍‍‍ ‌‌‌ۖ ‌‍‍‍
Huwa Al-Ladhī Khalaqa Lakum Mā Fī Al-'Arđi Jamī`āan Thumma Astawá 'Ilá As-Samā'i Fasawwāhunna Sab`a Samāwātin ۚ Wa Huwa Bikulli Shay'in `Alīmun It is He who created for you everything on earth, then turned to the heaven, and made them seven heavens. And He is aware of all things. 002-029 ‍‍‌‍‌ ‍ ‌ ‌‌ ‍‍‍‍‌‌ ‌‍‍‍‍ ‌‍‍‌ۚ ‌‌ ‍
Wa 'Idh Qāla Rabbuka Lilmalā'ikati 'Innī Jā`ilun Al-'Arđi Khalīfatan ۖ Qālū 'Ataj`alu Fīhā Man Yufsidu Fīhā Wa Yasfiku Ad-Dimā'a Wa Naĥnu Nusabbiĥu Biĥamdika Wa Nuqaddisu Laka ۖ Qāla 'Innī 'A`lamu Mā Lā Ta`lamūna When your Lord said to the angels, “I am placing a successor on earth.” They said, “Will You place in it someone who will cause corruption in it and shed blood, while we declare Your praises and sanctify You?” He said, “I know what you do not know.” 002-030 ‌‌‌ ‌‍‍ ‌‌‍ ‍‌ ۖ ‍‍‌ ‌‍‍‍‍ ‌ ‍‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‍‍‍‍‌‌ ‌ ‌‍‍‍ۖ ‍‍ ‌ ‌ ‌
Wa `Allama 'Ādama Al-'Asmā'a Kullahā Thumma `Arađahum `Alá Al-Malā'ikati Faqāla 'Anbi'ūnī Bi'asmā'i Hā'uulā' 'In Kuntum Şādiqīna And He taught Adam the names, all of them; then he presented them to the angels, and said, “Tell Me the names of these, if you are sincere.” 002-031 ‌‌ ‍‍‌‌ ‌ ‍‍ ‌ ‍‍ ‌‌‍‍‍‍‍ ‍‍‍‌‌ ‍‍‍‌‌‌ ‌‌ ‍‌‍‍‍‌
Qālū Subĥānaka Lā `Ilma Lanā 'Illā Mā `Allamtanā ۖ 'Innaka 'Anta Al-`Alīmu Al-Ĥakīmu They said, “Glory be to You! We have no knowledge except what You have taught us. It is you who are the Knowledgeable, the Wise.” 002-032 ‌ ‍‍‍‍ ‌ ‍‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‍ۖ‍ ‌‌‍‍‍
Qāla Yā 'Ādamu 'Anbi'hum Bi'asmā'ihim ۖ Falammā 'Anba'ahum Bi'asmā'ihim Qāla 'Alam 'Aqul Lakum 'Innī 'A`lamu Ghayba As-Samāwāti Wa Al-'Arđi Wa 'A`lamu Mā Tubdūna Wa Mā Kuntum Taktumūna He said, “O Adam, tell them their names.” And when he told them their names, He said, “Did I not tell you that I know the secrets of the heavens and the earth, and that I know what you reveal and what you conceal?” 002-033 ‌ ‌‌ ‌‌‍ ‍‍‍ ۖ‍‍‌ ‌‌‍ ‍‍‍ ‌ ‌‍‍ ‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍ ‌‌ ‌ ‍‍‍‍‍‌ ‌‌ ‍‌‍‍
Wa 'Idh Qulnā Lilmalā'ikati Asjudū Li'dama Fasajadū 'Illā 'Iblīsa 'Abá Wa Astakbara Wa Kāna Mina Al-Kāfirīna And We said to the angels, “Bow down to Adam.” They bowed down, except for Satan. He refused, was arrogant, and was one of the disbelievers. 002-034 ‌‌‌ ‍‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌‍‍‍‍‍‍ ‌‌ ‌‌ ‌‍‍‍
Wa Qulnā Yā 'Ādamu Askun 'Anta Wa Zawjuka Al-Jannata Wa Kulā Minhā Raghadāan Ĥaythu Shi'tumā Wa Lā Taqrabā Hadhihi Ash-Shajarata Fatakūnā Mina Až-Žālimīna We said, “O Adam, inhabit the Garden, you and your spouse, and eat from it freely as you please, but do not approach this tree, lest you become wrongdoers.” 002-035 ‍‌ ‍‌ ‌‌ ‍‌ ‌‌‍ ‌‌‌ ‍‍‍ ‌‌ ‍‌‍‍‍‌ ‌‍‍‌‌ ‍‍‍‍ ‌ ‌‌ ‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍
Fa'azallahumā Ash-Shayţānu `Anhā Fa'akhrajahumā Mimmā Kānā Fīhi ۖ Wa Qulnā Ahbiţū Ba`đukum Liba`đin `Adūwun ۖ Wa Lakum Al-'Arđi Mustaqarrun Wa Matā`un 'Ilá Ĥīnin But Satan caused them to slip from it, and caused them to depart the state they were in. We said, “Go down, some of you enemies of one another. And you will have residence on earth, and enjoyment for a while.” 002-036 ‌‌ ‍‍‍‍ ‍‌‍‍‍‌ ‍‌ ‍‍‍‍‌ ‌ ‍‍‍‍ۖ ‌‍‍‌ ‍‍‌ ‍‍‍‍ ‍ۖ‌‍‍‍‌ ‌‍‍‍‌ ‌‌
Fatalaqqá 'Ādamu Min Rabbihi Kalimātin Fatāba `Alayhi ۚ 'Innahu Huwa At-Tawwābu Ar-Raĥīmu Then Adam received words from his Lord, so He relented towards him. He is the Relenting, the Merciful. 002-037 ‍‍‌ ‌‌ ‍‌ ‌‍‍‍‌ ‍‍‍‍‍ۚ‍‍‌
Qulnā Ahbiţū Minhā Jamī`āan ۖ Fa'immā Ya'tiyannakum Minnī Hudan Faman Tabi`a Hudāya Falā Khawfun `Alayhim Wa Lā Hum Yaĥzanūna We said, “Go down from it, all of you. Yet whenever guidance comes to you from Me, then whoever follows My guidance—they have nothing to fear, nor shall they grieve. 002-038 ‍‌ ‍‍‌ ‍‌‍‍‍‌ ‌ۖ ‍‌ ‍‍‍‍ ‍‍‍‍ ‍‌‌‌ ‍‌ ‍‍‌ ‌‌
Wa Al-Ladhīna Kafarū Wa Kadhdhabū Bi'āyātinā 'Ūlā'ika 'Aşĥābu An-Nāri ۖ Hum Fīhā Khālidūna But as for those who disbelieve and reject Our signs—these are the inmates of the Fire—wherein they will remain forever.” 002-039 ‍‍‍‍ ‌‌ ‌‌ ‍‌ ‌‍‍‌‍‍‍ ‌‍‍‍‍‍ ‍‍‍‍‍‍‌ ۖ‍‌
Yā Banī 'Isrā'īla Adhkurū Ni`matiya Allatī 'An`amtu `Alaykum Wa 'Awfū Bi`ahdī 'Ūfi Bi`ahdikum Wa 'Īyāya Fārhabūni O Children of Israel! Remember My blessings which I bestowed upon you, and fulfill your pledge to Me, and I will fulfill My pledge to you, and fear Me. 002-040 ‌ ‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‌‌ ‌‌‍ ‌‌‌‍‍‌ ‌‌‍‍‍
Wa 'Āminū Bimā 'Anzaltu Muşaddiqāan Limā Ma`akum Wa Lā Takūnū 'Awwala Kāfirin Bihi ۖ Wa Lā Tashtarū Bi'āyātī Thamanāan Qalīlāan Wa 'Īyāya Fa Attaqūni And believe in what I revealed, confirming what is with you; and do not be the first to deny it; and do not exchange My revelations for a small price; and be conscious of Me. 002-041 ‌ ‍‌ ‌‌‍ ‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‍‌ ‌‌ ‍‌ ‍ ۖ ‌‌ ‌‌ ‌‌ ‌‌‍‍‍‍‍
Wa Lā Talbisū Al-Ĥaqqa Bil-Bāţili Wa Taktumū Al-Ĥaqqa Wa 'Antum Ta`lamūna And do not mix truth with falsehood, and do not conceal the truth while you know. 002-042 ‍ ‌ ‌‌‌
Wa 'Aqīmū Aş-Şalāata Wa 'Ātū Az-Zakāata Wa Arka`ū Ma`a Ar-ki`īna And attend to your prayers, and practice regular charity, and kneel with those who kneel. 002-043 ‌‍‍‍‍ ‌‌‍‍‍‍
'Ata'murūna An-Nāsa Bil-Birri Wa Tansawna 'Anfusakum Wa 'Antum Tatlūna Al-Kitāba ۚ 'Afalā Ta`qilūna Do you command people to virtuous conduct, and forget yourselves, even though you read the Scripture? Do you not understand? 002-044 ‍‍‌ ‍‍‍‍‍‍‌ ‌‍‌‍‍‍‍ ‌‌‍ ‌‌‌‍ ‍‍‍ ‍‍ ۚ ‌‌ ‍‍‍
Wa Asta`īnū Biş-Şabri Wa Aş-Şalāati ۚ Wa 'Innahā Lakabīratun 'Illā `Alá Al-Khāshi`īna And seek help through patience and prayer. But it is difficult, except for the devout. 002-045 ‌ ‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌ ‌‍‍ۚ ‌‌‍‌ ‍‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‍‍
Al-Ladhīna Yažunnūna 'Annahum Mulāqū Rabbihim Wa 'Annahum 'Ilayhi ji`ūna Those who know that they will meet their Lord, and that to Him they will return. 002-046 ‍‍‍‍ ‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍ ‍‍‌ ‌‍ ‌‌‍ ‌‍‍‍‍ ‌‍
Yā Banī 'Isrā'īla Adhkurū Ni`matiya Allatī 'An`amtu `Alaykum Wa 'Annī Fađđaltukum `Alá Al-`Ālamīna O Children of Israel! Remember My favor which I bestowed upon you, and I that favored you over all nations. 002-047 ‌ ‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‌‌ ‌‌‍ ‌‌‍ ‍‍‍‍ ‌
Wa Attaqū Yawmāan Lā Tajzī Nafsun `An Nafsin Shay'āan Wa Lā Yuqbalu Minhā Shafā`atun Wa Lā Yu'ukhadhu Minhā `Adlun Wa Lā Hum Yunşarūna And beware of a Day when no soul will avail another in the least, nor will any intercession be accepted on its behalf, nor will any ransom be taken from it, nor will they be helped. 002-048 ‌‍‍‍‌ ‌ ‍‍‍‍ ‍‌‌ ‍‍‍‌ ‌‌ ‍‍‍‍ ‍‌‍‍‍‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‍‍‍‍‌ ‍‌‍‍‍‌ ‍‌ ‌‌ ‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‌
Wa 'Idh Najjaynākum Min 'Āli Fir`awna Yasūmūnakum Sū'a Al-`Adhābi Yudhabbiĥūna 'Abnā'akum Wa Yastaĥyūna Nisā'akum ۚ Wa Fī Dhālikum Balā'un Min Rabbikum `Ažīmun And recall that We delivered you from the people of Pharaoh. They inflicted on you terrible persecution, killing your sons and sparing your women. Therein was a tremendous trial from your Lord. 002-049 ‌‌‌ ‍‌ ‌ ‍‍‍‌‌ ‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‌ ‌‍‍‍‍‍ۚ ‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‍‌ ‌‍‍‍
Wa 'Idh Faraqnā Bikumu Al-Baĥra Fa'anjaynākum Wa 'Aghraqnā 'Āla Fir`awna Wa 'Antum Tanžurūna And recall that We parted the sea for you, so We saved you, and We drowned the people of Pharaoh as you looked on. 002-050 ‌‌‌ ‍‍‍‍‌ ‌ ‌‍ ‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌ ‌ ‍ ‌‌‌‍ ‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‌
Wa 'Idh Wā`adnā Mūsá 'Arba`īna Laylatan Thumma Attakhadhtumu Al-`Ijla Min Ba`dihi Wa 'Antum Žālimūna And recall that We appointed for Moses forty nights. Then you took to worshiping the calf after him, and you turned wicked. 002-051 ‌‌‌ ‌‌ ‍‌ ‌‌‍‍‍‍‍ ‌ ‌ ‍ ‍‍‍‍‍ ‍‌ ‌‌‌
Thumma `Afawnā `Ankum Min Ba`di Dhālika La`allakum Tashkurūna Then We pardoned you after that, so that you might be grateful. 002-052 ‌ ‍‌‍‍‍ ‍‌ ‌ ‌ ‌
Wa 'Idh 'Ātaynā Mūsá Al-Kitāba Wa Al-Furqāna La`allakum Tahtadūna And recall that We gave Moses the Scripture and the Criterion, so that you may be guided. 002-053 ‌‌‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‍‍
Wa 'Idh Qāla Mūsá LiqawmihiQawmi 'Innakum Žalamtum 'Anfusakum Biāttikhādhikumu Al-`Ijla Fatūbū 'Ilá Bāri'ikumqtulū 'Anfusakum Dhālikum Khayrun Lakum `Inda Bāri'ikum Fatāba `Alaykum ۚ 'Innahu Huwa At-Tawwābu Ar-Raĥīmu And recall that Moses said to his people, “O my people, you have done wrong to yourselves by worshiping the calf. So repent to your Maker, and kill your egos. That would be better for you with your Maker.” So He turned to you in repentance. He is the Accepter of Repentance, the Merciful. 002-054 ‌‌‌ ‌ ‍‍‍‍‍‍ ‌‌‍ ‍‍‍‍‌ ‍‍‍ ‍‌ ‌‌ ‍‍‍‍‌ ‌‌‍ ‌ ‍‍‌ ‍‌‍‍‍‌ ‍‍ ۚ‍‍‌
Wa 'Idh Qultum Yā Mūsá Lan Nu'umina Laka Ĥattá Nará Allāha Jahratan Fa'akhadhatkumu Aş-Şā`iqatu Wa 'Antum Tanžurūna And recall that you said, “O Moses, we will not believe in you unless we see God plainly.” Thereupon the thunderbolt struck you, as you looked on. 002-055 ‌‌‌ ‍ ‌ ‌ ‍‌ ‌ ‍‌‌ ‍ ‍ ‌ ‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍ ‌‌‌‍ ‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‌
Thumma Ba`athnākum Min Ba`di Mawtikum La`allakum Tashkurūna Then We revived you after your death, so that you may be appreciative. 002-056 ‍‌ ‌ ‌
Wa Žallalnā `Alaykumu Al-Ghamāma Wa 'Anzalnā `Alaykumu Al-Manna Wa As-Salwá ۖ Kulū Min Ţayyibāti Mā Razaqnākum ۖ Wa Mā Žalamūnā Wa Lakin Kānū 'Anfusahum Yažlimūna And We shaded you with clouds, and We sent down to you manna and quails: “Eat of the good things We have provided for you.” They did not wrong Us, but they used to wrong their own souls. 002-057 ‍‌ ‍‍‍‍‍‍ ‌‌‌‍‌ ‍‌‌ ۖ ‌ ‍‌ ‍‍‍‍ ‌ ‌‍‍‍ۖ ‌‌ ‍‌ ‌‍‌‌ ‌‌‍ ‍‍‍
Wa 'Idh Qulnā Adkhulū Hadhihi Al-Qaryata Fakulū Minhā Ĥaythu Shi'tum Raghadāan Wa Adkhulū Al-Bāba Sujjadāan Wa Qūlū Ĥiţţatun Naghfir Lakum Khaţāyākum ۚ Wa Sanazīdu Al-Muĥsinīna And recall that We said, “Enter this town, and eat plentifully from it whatever you wish; but enter the gate humbly, and say, 'Pardon.' We will forgive your sins, and give increase to the virtuous.” 002-058 ‌‌‌ ‍‌ ‍‍‍‍‌ ‍‌‍‍‍‌ ‍‍‍‍ ‌‍‍‌‌ ‌‍‍‍‍‌ ‌‍‌ ‍‍‍‌ ‍‍‍‍‍‍‍ۚ‍‍‍‍‌
Fabaddala Al-Ladhīna Žalamū Qawlāan Ghayra Al-Ladhī Qīla Lahum Fa'anzalnā `Alá Al-Ladhīna Žalamū Rijzāan Mina As-Samā'i Bimā Kānū Yafsuqūna But the wrongdoers among them substituted words other than those given to them, so We sent down on the wrongdoers a plague from heaven, because of their wicked behavior. 002-059 ‍‍‍‍‌ ‍‍ ‍‍‍ ‌‍‌ ‌ ‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‍‍‍
Wa 'Idh Astasqá Mūsá Liqawmihi Faqulnā Ađrib Bi`aşāka Al-Ĥajara ۖnfajarat Minhu Athnatā `Ashrata `Aynāan ۖ Qad `Alima Kullu 'Unāsin Mashrabahum ۖ Kulū Wa Ashrabū Min Rizqi Allāhi Wa Lā Ta`thaw Fī Al-'Arđi Mufsidīna And recall when Moses prayed for water for his people. We said, “Strike the rock with your staff.” Thereupon twelve springs gushed out from it, and each tribe recognized its drinking-place. “Eat and drink from God’s provision, and do not corrupt the earth with disobedience.” 002-060 ‌‌‌ ‍‍‍‌ ‌ ‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌ ‍‍ ۖ‍‍ ‍‌‍‍‌ ‍ۖ ‌ ‌‍‍‍‌ ‍ ۖ ‌ ‌‌ ‍‌ ‌‍ ‍ ‌‌ ‌‌ ‌‍
Wa 'Idhi Qultum Yā Mūsá Lan Naşbira `Alá Ţa`āmin Wāĥidind`u Lanā Rabbaka Yukhrij Lanā Mimmā Tunbitu Al-'Arđu Min Baqlihā Wa Qiththā'ihā Wa Fūmihā Wa `Adasihā Wa Başalihā ۖ Qāla 'Atastabdilūna Al-Ladhī Huwa 'Adná Bial-Ladhī Huwa Khayrun ۚ Ahbiţū Mişan Fa'inna Lakum Mā Sa'altum ۗ Wa Đuribat `Alayhimu Adh-Dhillatu Wa Al-Maskanatu Wa Bā'ū Bighađabin Mina Allāhi ۗ Dhālika Bi'annahum Kānū Yakfurūna Bi'āyāti Allāhi Wa Yaqtulūna An-Nabīyīna Bighayri Al-Ĥaqqi ۗ Dhālika Bimā `Aşaw Wa Kānū Ya`tadūna And recall when you said, “O Moses, we cannot endure one kind of food, so call to your Lord to produce for us of what the earth grows: of its herbs, and its cucumbers, and its garlic, and its lentils, and its onions.” He said, “Would you substitute worse for better? Go down to Egypt, where you will have what you asked for.” They were struck with humiliation and poverty, and incurred wrath from God. That was because they rejected God’s revelations and wrongfully killed the prophets. That was because they disobeyed and transgressed. 'Inna Al-Ladhīna 'Āmanū Wa Al-Ladhīna Hādū Wa An-Naşārá Wa Aş-Şābi'īna Man 'Āmana Billāhi Wa Al-Yawmi Al-'Ākhiri Wa `Amila Şāliĥāan Falahum 'Ajruhum `Inda Rabbihim Wa Lā Khawfun `Alayhim Wa Lā Hum Yaĥzanūna Those who believe, and those who are Jewish, and the Christians, and the Sabeans—any who believe in God and the Last Day, and act righteously—will have their reward with their Lord; they have nothing to fear, nor will they grieve. 002-062 ‍‍‍‍ ‌‌ ‌‍‍‍‍ ‌‌‌ ‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‌ ‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍ ‍‌ ‌ ‍‍ ‌ ‍‍‍‌ ‌ ‍‌‌ ‌‍ ‍‌‍‍‍‌ ‌‍ ‌‌ ‌‌
Wa 'Idh 'Akhadhnā Mīthāqakum Wa Rafa`nā Fawqakumu Aţ-Ţūra Khudhū Mā 'Ātaynākum Biqūwatin Wa Adhkurū Mā Fīhi La`allakum Tattaqūna And recall when We received a pledge from you, and raised the Mount above you: “Take what We have given you earnestly, and remember what is in it, that you may attain righteousness.” 002-063 ‌‌‌ ‌‍‍‌ ‍ ‌‌‍‌ ‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌ ‍‌ ‌ ‍‍‍‌ ‌‌‌‌ ‌ ‍‍‍‍‍ ‍‍‍
Thumma Tawallaytum Min Ba`di Dhālika ۖ Falawlā Fađlu Allāhi `Alaykum Wa Raĥmatuhu Lakuntum Mina Al-Khāsirīna But after that you turned away. Were it not for God’s grace and mercy towards you, you would have been among the losers. 002-064 ‍‌ ‌ ‌ ۖ ‌ ‍‍‍‍ ‌‌‍ ‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍
Wa Laqad `Alimtumu Al-Ladhīna A`tadaw Minkum As-Sabti Faqulnā Lahum Kūnū Qiradatan Khāsi'īna And you surely knew those of you who violated the Sabbath. We said to them, “Be despicable apes!” 002-065 ‍‍‍‌‌‌ ‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍ ‍‍‍‍‌ ‍‍‍‍
Faja`alnāhā Nakālāan Limā Bayna Yadayhā Wa Mā Khalfahā Wa Maw`ižatan Lilmuttaqīna Thus We made it a deterrent for their generation, and for subsequent generations, and a lesson for the righteous. 002-066 ‌ ‌ ‍‍‍‍ ‌ ‌‌ ‍‌ ‌‍‍‍ ‌ ‍‍‍
Wa 'Idh Qāla Mūsá Liqawmihi~ 'Inna Allāha Ya'murukum 'An Tadhbaĥū Baqaratan ۖ Qālū 'Atattakhidhunā Huzūan ۖ Qāla 'A`ūdhu Billāhi~ 'An 'Akūna Mina Al-Jāhilīn And recall when Moses said to his people, “God commands you to sacrifice a heifer.” They said, “Do you make a mockery of us?” He said, “God forbid that I should be so ignorant.” 002-067 ‌‌‌ ‌ ‍‍‍‍ ‌ ‍ ‌‌ ‌ ‍‍‍ ۖ ‍‍‌ ‌‍‍‍‍‌ ‍‍‌‌‌ۖ ‌‍‍‍‌‌ ‍‍ ‌‌ ‌‍‍‍
Qālū Ad`u Lanā Rabbaka Yubayyin Lanā Mā Hiya ۚ Qāla 'Innahu Yaqūlu 'Innahā Baqaratun Lā Fāriđun Wa Lā Bikrun `Awānun Bayna Dhālika ۖ Fāf`alū Mā Tu'umarūna They said, “Call upon your Lord to show us which one.” He said, “He says she is a heifer, neither too old, nor too young, but in between. So do what you are commanded.” 002-068 ‌ ‌‍ ‍‌ ‌ ‌ ۚ ‍‍‍‌ ‍‍‍ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‍‍‌‌ ‍‍‍‍ ‌ ۖ ‌ ‌ ‌
Qālū Ad`u Lanā Rabbaka Yubayyin Lanā Mā Lawnuhā ۚ Qāla 'Innahu Yaqūlu 'Innahā Baqaratun Şafrā'u Fāqi`un Lawnuhā Tasurru An-Nāžirīna They said, “Call upon your Lord to show us what her color is.” He said, “He says she is a yellow heifer, bright in color, pleasing to the beholders.” 002-069 ‌ ‌‍ ‍‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ۚ ‍‍‍‌ ‍‍‍‍‍‌‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‍‍
Qālū Ad`u Lanā Rabbaka Yubayyin Lanā Mā Hiya 'Inna Al-Baqara Tashābaha `Alaynā Wa 'Innā 'In Shā'a Allāhu Lamuhtadūna They said, “Call upon your Lord to show us which one; the heifers look alike to us; and God willing, we will be guided.” 002-070 ‌ ‌‍ ‍‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‍‍‌ ‌ ‌‌‌ ‌‌‍‍‌‌ ‍ ‌
Qāla 'Innahu Yaqūlu 'Innahā BaqaratunDhalūlun Tuthīru Al-'Arđa Wa Lā Tasqī Al-Ĥartha MusallamatunShiyata Fīhā ۚ Qālū Al-'Āna Ji'ta Bil-Ĥaqqi ۚ Fadhabaĥūhā Wa Mā Kādū Yaf`alūna He said, “He says she is a heifer, neither yoked to plow the earth, nor to irrigate the field; sound without blemish.” They said, “Now you have brought the truth.” So they slew her; though they almost did not. 002-071 ‍‍‍‌ ‍‍‍ ‌ ‌ ‌‍‍‍‌ ‍‍‍‍‍‌ ‌‍ ‌‌ ‍‍‍ ‌ ‌ ‌ ۚ ۚ ‌ ‌‌ ‌‌
Wa 'Idh Qataltum Nafsāan Fa Addāra'tum Fīhā Wa ۖ Allāhu Mukhrijun Mā Kuntum Taktumūna And recall when you killed a person, and disputed in the matter; but God was to expose what you were hiding. 002-072 ‌‌‌ ‍ ‌‌ ‌‌‌‍‌ ‌ ۖ‍‍‌ ‌ ‍‌‍‍
Faqulnā Ađribūhu Biba`đihā ۚ Kadhālika Yuĥyī Al-Lahu Al-Mawtá Wa Yurīkum 'Āyātihi La`allakum Ta`qilūna We said, “Strike him with part of it.” Thus God brings the dead to life; and He shows you His signs, that you may understand. 002-073 ‍‌ ‍‍‍‍‍‌ ۚ ‌ ‌‍ ‌‍‍‍
Thumma Qasat Qulūbukum Min Ba`di Dhālika Fahiya Kālĥijārati 'Aw 'Ashaddu Qaswatan ۚ Wa 'Inna Mina Al-Ĥijārati Lamā Yatafajjaru Minhu Al-'Anhāru ۚ Wa 'Inna Minhā Lamā Yashshaqqaqu Fayakhruju Minhu Al-Mā'u ۚ Wa 'Inna Minhā Lamā Yahbiţu Min Khashyati Allāhi ۗ Wa Mā Al-Lahu Bighāfilin `Ammā Ta`malūna Then after that your hearts hardened. They were as rocks, or even harder. For there are some rocks from which rivers gush out, and others that splinter and water comes out from them, and others that sink in awe of God. God is not unaware of what you do. 002-074 ‍ ‍‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‍ ‌‌‌ ‌‌ ۚ ‌‌ ‌‍ ‌ ‌ ‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‌ ۚ ‌‌ ‍‌‍‍‍‌ ‌ ‍‍‍‍‍‍ ‍‌‍‍‍‍‌‌ ۚ ‌‌ ‍‌‍‍‍‌ ‌ ‍ ‍‌ ۗ ‌‌ ‍‍‍ ‍‍‍‍‌
'Afataţma`ūna 'An Yu'uminū Lakum Wa Qad Kāna Farīqun Minhum Yasma`ūna Kalāma Allāhi Thumma Yuĥarrifūnahu Min Ba`di Mā `Aqalūhu Wa Hum Ya`lamūna Do you hope that they will believe in you, when some of them used to hear the Word of God, and then deliberately distort it, even after understanding it? 002-075 ‍‍‍‍‍‍ ‌‌ ‌ ‌‍‌ ‍‍‍‍‍‍‌ ‍‌‍‍‍ ‍‍‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‌ ‌ ‌ ‍‍‍‍‍‍‍
Wa 'Idhā Laqū Al-Ladhīna 'Āmanū Qālū 'Āmannā Wa 'Idhā Khalā Ba`đuhum 'Ilá Ba`đin Qālū 'Atuĥaddithūnahum Bimā Fataĥa Allāhu `Alaykum Liyuĥājjūkum Bihi `Inda Rabbikum ۚ 'Afalā Ta`qilūna And when they come across those who believe, they say, “We believe,” but when they come together privately, they say, “Will you inform them of what God has disclosed to you, so that they might dispute with you concerning it before your Lord?” Do you not understand? 002-076 ‌‌‌‌ ‍‍‍‍‍‍‍ ‌‍‍‌ ‌‍‍‍‍‌ ‌‌‌‌‌ ‍‌ ‍‍‍‍ ‌‌ ‍‍‍‌ ‌ ‌ ‍ ‍‍‍ ‍‌‍‍‍‌ ‌‍ ۚ ‌‌ ‍‍‍
'Awalā Ya`lamūna 'Anna Allāha Ya`lamu Mā Yusirrūna Wa Mā Yu`linūna Do they not know that God knows what they conceal and what they reveal? 002-077 ‌‌ ‍‍‍ ‍ ‌ ‍‍‍‍‍‌ ‌‌
Wa Minhum 'Ummīyūna Lā Ya`lamūna Al-Kitāba 'Illā 'Amānīya Wa 'In Hum 'Illā Yažunnūna And among them are uneducated who know the Scripture only through hearsay, and they only speculate. 002-078 ‍‌‍‍‍ ‌‍‍‍‍ ‌ ‍‍‍ ‍‍ ‌‌ ‌ ‌‌‌ ‌‌ ‍‍‍‍‍
Fawaylun Lilladhīna Yaktubūna Al-Kitāba Bi'aydīhim Thumma Yaqūlūna Hādhā Min `Indi Allāhi Liyashtarū Bihi Thamanāan Qalīlāan ۖ Fawaylun Lahum Mimmā Katabat 'Aydīhim Wa Waylun Lahum Mimmā Yaksibūna So woe to those who write the Scripture with their own hands, and then say, “This is from God,” that they may exchange it for a little price. Woe to them for what their hands have written, and woe to them for what they earn. 002-079 ‍‍‍‍ ‍‍‍ ‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍ ‌‌ ‍‌ ‍‌‍‍‍‌ ‍ ‌‌ ‍‍‌ۖ ‌ ‍‍‍‍‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‍‍‍‍‌
Wa Qālū Lan Tamassanā An-Nāru 'Illā 'Ayyāmāan Ma`dūdatan ۚ Qul 'Āttakhadhtum `Inda Allāhi `Ahdāan Falan Yukhlifa Allāhu `Ahdahu~ ۖ 'Am Taqūlūna `Alá Allāhi Mā Lā Ta`lamūna And they say, “The Fire will not touch us except for a number of days.” Say, “Have you received a promise from God—God never breaks His promise—or are you saying about God what you do not know?” 002-080 ‌ ‍‌‍‍‍‍‌‌ ‌‌ ‌‌ ‌‌‌ ۚ ‍ ‌‍‍‌‍‍‍ ‍‌‍‍‍‌ ‍ ‌‌‌ ‍‌‍‍~ ۖ ‌ ‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍ ‌ ‌
Balá Man Kasaba Sayyi'atan Wa 'Aĥāţat Bihi Khaţī'atuhu Fa'ūlā'ika 'Aşĥābu An-Nāri ۖ Hum Fīhā Khālidūna Indeed, whoever commits misdeeds, and becomes besieged by his iniquities—these are the inmates of the Fire, wherein they will dwell forever. 002-081 ‌ ‍‌ ‌ ‌‌‍ ‍ ‍‍‍‍‍‍‍ ‍‍‌‍‍‍ ‌‍‍‍‍‍ ‍‍‍‍‍‍‌ ۖ‍‌

Wa 'Idh 'Akhadhnā Mīthāqa Banī 'Isrā'īla Lā Ta`budūna 'Illā Al-Laha Wa Bil-Wālidayni 'Iĥsānāan Wa Dhī Al-Qurbá Wa Al-Yatāmá Wa Al-Masākīni Wa Qūlū Lilnnāsi Ĥusnāan Wa 'Aqīmū Aş-Şalāata Wa 'Ātū Az-Zakāata Thumma Tawallaytum 'Illā Qalīlāan Minkum Wa 'Antum Mu`rūna We made a covenant with the Children of Israel: “Worship none but God; and be good to parents, and relatives, and orphans, and the needy; and speak nicely to people; and pray regularly, and give alms.” Then you turned away, except for a few of you, recanting. 002-083 ‌‌‌ ‌‍‍‌ ‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍ ‌ ‍‍‌ ‌‌ ‍ ‌‌‍ ‌‌ ‌‌ ‍‍‍‌ ‌‌ ‌‍‍‍‍ ‌‍‌ ‍‍‍‍‍ ‌ ‌‌‍‍‍‍ ‌‌‍‍‍‍ ‌‌ ‌ ‍‌‍‍‍ ‌‌‌‍ ‍‍‍

Thumma 'Antum Hā'uulā' Taqtulūna 'Anfusakum Wa Tukhrijūna Farīqāan Minkum Min Diyārihim Tažāharūna `Alayhim Bil-'Ithmi Wa Al-`Udwāni Wa 'In Ya'tūkum 'Usārá Tufādūhum Wa Huwa Muĥarramun `Alaykum 'Ikhjuhum ۚ 'A Fatu'uminūna Biba`đi Al-Kitābi Wa Takfurūna ۚ Biba`đin Famā Jazā'u Man Yaf`alu Dhālika Minkum 'Illā Khizyun Al-Ĥayāati ۖ Ad-Dunyā Wa Yawma Al-Qiyāmati Yuraddūna 'Ilá 'Ashaddi ۗ Al-`Adhābi Wa Mā Al-Lahu Bighāfilin `Ammā Ta`malūna But here you are, killing your own, and expelling a group of your own from their homes—conspiring against them in wrongdoing and hostility. And if they come to you as captives, you ransom them, although it was forbidden to you. Is it that you believe in part of the Scripture, and disbelieve in part? 'Ūlā'ika Al-Ladhīna Ashtaraw Al-Ĥayāata Ad-Dunyā Bil-'Ākhirati ۖ Falā Yukhaffafu `Anhumu Al-`Adhābu Wa Lā Hum Yunşarūna Those are they who bought the present life for the Hereafter, so the punishment will not be lightened for them, nor will they be helped. 002-086 ‍‍‌‍‍‍ ‍‍‍‌‌‌ ‍‍ ‍‌‍‌ ‍‍‍ ۖ ‌ ‍‍‍‍ ‍‌‍‍‍‍‌ ‌‌ ‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‌
Wa Laqad 'Ātaynā Mūsá Al-Kitāba Wa Qaffaynā Min Ba`dihi Bir-Rusuli ۖ Wa 'Ātaynā `Īsá Abna Maryama Al-Bayyināti Wa 'Ayyadnāhu Birūĥi Al-Qudusi ۗ 'Afakullamā Jā'akum Rasūlun Bimā Lā Tahwá 'Anfusukum Astakbartum Fafarīqāan Kadhdhabtum Wa Farīqāan Taqtulūn We gave Moses the Scripture, and sent a succession of messengers after him. And We gave Jesus son of Mary the clear proofs, and We supported him with the Holy Spirit. Wa Qālū Qulūbunā Ghulfun ۚ Bal La`anahumu Allāhu Bikufrihim Faqalīlāan Mā Yu'uminūna And they said, “Our hearts are sealed.” Rather, God has cursed them for their ingratitude. They have little faith. 002-088 ‍‌ ‍‌ۚ ‍ ‍‍‍‌ ‌
Wa Lammā Jā'ahum Kitābun Min `Indi Allāhi Muşaddiqun Limā Ma`ahum Wa Kānū Min Qablu Yastaftiĥūna `Alá Al-Ladhīna Kafarū Falammā Jā'ahum Mā `Arafū Kafarū Bihi ۚ Fala`natu Allāhi `Alá Al-Kāfirīna And when a scripture came to them from God, confirming what they have—although previously they were seeking victory against those who disbelieved—but when there came to them what they recognized, they disbelieved in it. Bi'sa Mā Ashtaraw Bihi~ 'Anfusahum 'An Yakfurū Bimā 'Anzala Allāhu Baghyāan 'An Yunazzila Allāhu Min Fađlih `Alá Man Yashā'u Min ۖ `Ibādihi Fabā'ū Bighađabin `Alá ۚ Ghađabin Wa Lilkāfirīna `Adhābun Muhīnun Miserable is what they sold their souls for—rejecting what God has revealed, out of resentment that God would send down His grace upon whomever He chooses from among His servants. Thus they incurred wrath upon wrath. And there is a demeaning punishment for the disbelievers. 002-090 ‌‌‌ ‌‌‍ ‌‌‌ ‍‌ ‌‌‍ ‍‍‍‍‌ ‌‌ ‍ ‍‌‍‍‍ ‌ ‍‌‍‍‌‌ ‍‌ ۖ‍‍‍‍‌‌‌ ‍‍‍‍‍‍ ‌ ۚ ‍‍‌ ‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‌
Wa 'Idhā Qīla Lahum 'Āminū Bimā 'Anzala Allāhu Qālū Nu'uminu Bimā 'Unzila `Alaynā Wa Yakfurūna Bimā Warā'ahu Wa Huwa Al-Ĥaqqu Muşaddiqāan Limā Ma`ahum ۗ Qul Falima Taqtulūna 'Anbiyā'a Allāhi Min Qablu 'In Kuntum Mu'uminīna And when it is said to them, “Believe in what God has revealed,” they say, “We believe in what was revealed to us,” and they reject anything beyond that, although it is the truth which confirms what they have. Wa Laqad Jā'akum Mūsá Bil-Bayyināti Thumma Attakhadhtumu Al-`Ijla Min Ba`dihi Wa 'Antum Žālimūna Moses came to you with clear proofs, yet you adopted the calf in his absence, and you were in the wrong. 002-092 ‌ ‍‍‍‌ ‌ ‍‍‍ ‍‍‍‍‍ ‍‌ ‌‌‌
Wa 'Idh 'Akhadhnā Mīthāqakum Wa Rafa`nā Fawqakumu Aţ-Ţūra Khudhū Mā 'Ātaynākum Biqūwatin Wa Asma`ū ۖ Qālū Sami`nā Wa `Aşaynā Wa 'Ushribū Fī Qulūbihimu Al-`Ijla Bikufrihim ۚ Qul Bi'samā Ya'murukum Bihi~ 'Īmānukum 'In Kuntum Mu'uminīna And We made a covenant with you, and raised the Mount above you: “Take what We have given you firmly, and listen.” They said, “We hear and disobey.” And their hearts became filled with the love of the calf because of their disbelief. Say, “Wretched is what your faith commands you to do, if you are believers.” 002-093 ‌‌‌ ‌‍‍‌ ‍ ‌‌‍‌ ‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌ ‍‌ ‌ ‍‍‍‌ ‌ۖ ‌ ‌ ‌‍‍‍‍‌ ‌‌‍‍‍‍ ‍ ۚ ‍ ‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‍‌‍‍
Qul 'In Kānat Lakumu Ad-Dāru Al-'Ākhiratu `Inda Allāhi Khālişatan Min Dūni An-Nāsi Fatamannaw Al-Mawta 'In Kuntum Şādiqīna Say, “If the Final Home with God is yours alone, to the exclusion of all other people, then wish for death if you are sincere.” 002-094 ‍ ‌‌ ‍‍‌‌‌ ‍‍ ‍‌‍‍‍‌ ‍‍‍‍ ‌ ‍‌‍‍‌ ‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‌ ‌‌ ‍‌‍‍‍‌
Wa Lan Yatamannawhu 'Abadāan Bimā Qaddamat 'Aydīhim Wa ۗ Allāhu `Alīmun Biž-Žālimīna But they will never wish for it, because of what their hands have forwarded. God is aware of the evildoers. 002-095 ‍‌‍‍ ‌‌‌ ‌ ‍ ‌ ۗ‍‍‍‍‌‌ ‍‍‍
Wa Latajidannahum 'Aĥraşa An-Nāsi `Alá Ĥayāatin Wa Mina Al-Ladhīna 'Ashraۚ Yawaddu 'Aĥaduhum Law Yu`ammaru 'Alfa Sanatin Wa Mā Huwa Bimuzaĥziĥihi Mina Al-`Adhābi 'An Yu`ammara Wa ۗ Allāhu Başīrun Bimā Ya`malūna You will find them, of all mankind, the most eager for life, even more than the polytheists. Every one of them wishes he could live a thousand years; but to be granted a long life will not nudge him from the punishment. God is Seeing of what they do. 002-096 ‍ ‌‍ ‍‍‍‍ ‌ ‍‍‍‌ ‌ ‍‍‍‍ ‌‍ۚ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‍‍‍‍‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‍ ‍‍‌ ‌‌‍‍‍‍ۗ‍‍‍‍‌ ‌
Qul Man Kāna `Adūwāan Lijibrīla Fa'innahu Nazzalahu `Alá Qalbika Bi'idhni Allāhi Muşaddiqāan Limā Bayna Yadayhi Wa Hudan Wa Bushrá Lilmu'uminīna Say, “Whoever is hostile to Gabriel—it is he who revealed it to your heart by God’s leave, confirming what preceded it, and guidance and good news for the believers.” 002-097 ‍ ‍‌‍‍ ‌‌‌ ‍‍‍‍‍‍‍ ‌ ‍ ‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌ ‌ ‍‍‍‍ ‌‍‌ ‌‍‌‌
Man Kāna `Adūwāan Lillāh Wa Malā'ikatihi Wa Rusulihi Wa Jibrīla Wa Mīkāla Fa'inna Allāha `Adūwun Lilkāfirīna Whoever is hostile to God, and His angels, and His messengers, and Gabriel, and Michael—God is hostile to the faithless. 002-098 ‍‌‍‍ ‌‌ ‌‍ ‌‌‍ ‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍ ‌‍‍‍ ‍ ‌‌ ‍
Wa Laqad 'Anzalnā 'Ilayka 'Āyātin Bayyinātin ۖ Wa Mā Yakfuru Bihā 'Illā Al-Fāsiqūna We have revealed to you clear signs, and none rejects them except the sinners. 002-099 ‌ ‌‌‍‍‌ ‌‍‍‍‍ ‌‍‍‍ ‌ ‍‍‍ۖ ‌‌ ‌ ‍‌ ‌‌ ‍‍
'Awakullamā `Āhadū `Ahdāan Nabadhahu Farīqun Minhum ۚ Bal 'Aktharuhum Lā Yu'uminūna Is it not that whenever they make a covenant, some of them toss it aside? In fact, most of them do not believe. 002-100 ‌‌ ‌‌ ‌‍‍‍‌ ‍‌‍‍ۚ ‌ ‌
Wa Lammā Jā'ahum Rasūlun Min `Indi Allāhi Muşaddiqun Limā Ma`ahum Nabadha Farīqun Mina Al-Ladhīna 'Ūtū Al-Kitāba Kitāba Allāhi Warā'a Žuhūrihim Ka'annahum Lā Ya`lamūna And when there came to them a messenger from God, confirming what they had, a faction of those who were given the Book threw the Book of God behind their backs, as if they do not know. 002-101 ‍‍‍‌ ‍‍‍‌ ‌‍‍‍‌ ‍‌ ‍‌‍‍‍‌ ‍ ‍‍‍‍‍‍‍ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍ ‌‍‍‍‍‍‍ ‍ ‌‌‍‍‌‌‌ ‍ ‌
Wa Attaba`ū Mā Tatlū Ash-Shayāţīnu `Alá Mulki Sulaymāna ۖ Wa Mā Kafara Sulaymānu Wa Lakinna Ash-Shayāţīna Kafarū Yu`allimūna An-Nāsa As-Siĥra Wa Mā 'Unzila `Alá Al-Malakayni Bibābila Hārūta Wa Mārūta ۚ Wa Mā Yu`allimāni Min 'Aĥadin Ĥattá Yaqūlā 'Innamā Naĥnu Fitnatun Falā Takfur ۖ Fayata`allamūna Minhumā Mā Yufarriqūna Bihi Bayna Al-Mar'i Wa Zawjihi ۚ Wa Mā Hum Biđārrīna Bihi Min 'Aĥadin 'Illā Bi'idhni Allāhi ۚ Wa Yata`allamūna Mā Yađurruhum Wa Lā Yanfa`uhum ۚ Wa Laqad `Alimū Lamani Ashtarāhu Mā Lahu Fī Al-'Ākhirati Min Khalāqin ۚ Wa Labi'sa Mā Sharaw Bihi~ 'Anfusahum ۚ Law Kānū Ya`lamūna And they followed what the devils taught during the reign of Salomon. It was not Solomon who disbelieved, but it was the devils who disbelieved. They taught the people witchcraft and what was revealed in Babylon to the two angels Harut and Marut. They did not teach anybody until they had said, “We are a test, so do not lose faith.” But they learned from them the means to cause separation between man and his wife. Wa Law 'Annahum 'Āmanū Wa Attaqaw Lamathūbatun Min `Indi Allāhi Khayrun ۖ Law Kānū Ya`lamūna Had they believed and been righteous, the reward from God would have been better, if they only knew. 002-103 ‌ ‌‍ ‌‌ ‌‍‍‍‌‌ ‌ ‍‌ ‍‌‍‍‍‌ ‍‍ۖ
Yā 'Ayyuhā Al-Ladhīna 'Āmanū Lā Taqūlū `inā Wa Qūlū Anžurnā Wa Asma`ū ۗ Wa Lilkāfirīna `Adhābun 'Alīmun O you who believe! Do not say ambiguous words, but say words of respect, and listen. The disbelievers will have a painful torment. 002-104 ‌ ‌‌ ‍‍‍‍ ‌‌ ‌ ‍‍‍‌ ‌‍‌‌ ‌‍‍‍‍‌ ‌ۗ ‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‌
Mā Yawaddu Al-Ladhīna Kafarū Min 'Ahli Al-Kitābi Wa Lā Al-Mushrikīna 'An Yunazzala `Alaykum Min Khayrin Min Rabbikum Wa ۗ Allāhu Yakhtaşşu Biraĥmatihi Man Yashā'u Wa ۚ Allāhu Dhū Al-Fađli Al-`Ažīmi It is never the wish of the disbelievers from among the People of the Book, nor of the polytheists, that any good should be sent down to you from your Lord. But God chooses for His mercy whomever He wills. God is Possessor of Sublime Grace. 002-105 ‌ ‌‌ ‍‍‍‍ ‌‌ ‍‌‍‍ ‌‌ ‍‍‍‍ ‌‌ ‍‌ ‍‍‌ ‍‌ ‌‍ ۗ‍‍‍‍ ‍‌‍‍‌‌ ۚ ‌‌‌ ‍‍‍‍
Mā Nansakh Min 'Āyatin 'Aw Nunsihā Na'ti Bikhayrin Minhā 'Aw Mithlihā ۗ 'Alam Ta`lam 'Anna Allāha `Alá Kulli Shay'in Qadīrun We never nullify a verse, nor cause it to be forgotten, unless We bring one better than it, or similar to it. Do you not know that God is capable of all things? 002-106 ‌ ‍‌‍‍‍‍ ‍‌ ‌ ‌‌‌ ‍‌‍‍‍‌ ‍‍‍‍‍‌ ‍‌‍‍‍‍‌ ‌‌‌ ‍ۗ ‌ ‌ ‍ ‌ ‍
'Alam Ta`lam 'Anna Allāha Lahu Mulku As-Samāwāti Wa Al-'Arđi ۗ Wa Mā Lakum Min Dūni Allāhi Min Wa Līyin Wa Lā Naşīrin Do you not know that to God belongs the sovereignty of the heavens and the earth, and that apart from God you have no guardian or helper? 002-107 ‍ ‍ ‍‌‍‍‌‌‍ ۗ ‌‌ ‍‌‍‍‌ ‍ ‍‌‌ ‌‌ ‍‍‍‍‍‍‍
'Am Turīdūna 'An Tas'alū Rasūlakum Kamā Su'ila Mūsá Min Qablu ۗ Wa Man Yatabaddali Al-Kufra Bil-'Īmāni Faqad Đalla Sawā'a As-Sabīli Or do you want to question your Messenger as Moses was questioned before? Whoever exchanges faith for disbelief has strayed from the right path. 002-108 ‍‍‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌‍ ‌ ‌ ‍‌ ‍‍ۗ ‌‍‌ ‌ ‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‌‌
Wadda Kathīrun Min 'Ahli Al-Kitābi Law Yaruddūnakum Min Ba`di 'Īmānikum Kuffāan Ĥasadāan Min `Indi 'Anfusihim Min Ba`di Mā Tabayyana Lahumu Al-Ĥaqqu ۖ Fā`fū Wa Aşfaĥū Ĥattá Ya'tiya Allāhu Bi'amrihi~ ۗ 'Inna Allāha `Alá Kulli Shay'in Qadīrun Many of the People of the Book wish to turn you back into unbelievers after you have believed, out of envy on their part, after the Truth has become clear to them. But pardon and overlook, until God brings His command. God has power over all things. 002-109 ‌‌ ‍‍‍‍‌ ‍‌‍‍ ‌ ‌‌ ‍‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌‌ ‌‌ ‍‌ ‍‌‍‍‍‌ ‌‌‍ ‍‌ ‌ ‌ ۖ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‍ ‍ ۗ ‍ ‌ ‍
Wa 'Aqīmū Aş-Şalāata Wa 'Ātū Az-Zakāata ۚ Wa Mā Tuqaddimū Li'nfusikum Min Khayrin Tajidūhu `Inda Allāhi ۗ 'Inna Allāha Bimā Ta`malūna Başīrun And perform the prayer, and give alms. Whatever good you forward for yourselves, you will find it with God. God is Seeing of everything you do. 002-110 ‌‍‍‍‍ ‌‌‍‍‍‍ ۚ ‌‌ ‍‍‍‌ ‌‍ ‍‌ ‍‍‍‌‍‍‌ ‍‌‍‍‍‌ ۗ ‍ ‌ ‍‍‍‍‍
Wa Qālū Lan Yadkhula Al-Jannata 'Illā Man Kāna Hūdāan 'Aw Naşārá ۗ Tilka 'Amānīyuhum ۗ Qul Hātū Burhānakum 'In Kuntum Şādiqīn And they say, “None will enter Heaven unless he is a Jew or a Christian.” These are their wishes. Say, “Produce your proof, if you are truthful.” 002-111 ‌ ‍‌‍‍‍‍‍ ‌‌ ‍‌‍‍ ‌‌‌ ‌‌‌ ‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‌ ۗۗ ‌ ‌‌ ‍‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍
Balá Man 'Aslama Wajhahu Lillāh Wa Huwa Muĥsinun Falahu~ 'Ajruhu `Inda Rabbihi Wa Lā Khawfun `Alayhim Wa Lā Hum Yaĥzanūna In fact, whoever submits himself to God, and is a doer of good, will have his reward with his Lord—they have nothing to fear, nor shall they grieve. 002-112 ‌ ‍‌ ‌ ‌‍‍ ‌‌ ‌~ ‍‌‍‍‍‌ ‌‍ ‌‌ ‌‌
Wa Qālati Al-Yahūdu Laysati An-Naşārá `Alá Shay'in Wa Qālati An-Naşārá Laysati Al-Yahūdu `Alá Shay'in Wa Hum Yatlūna Al-Kitāba ۗ Kadhālika Qāla Al-Ladhīna Lā Ya`lamūna Mithla Qawlihim ۚ Fa-Allāhu Yaĥkumu Baynahum Yawma Al-Qiyāmati Fīmā Kānū Fīhi Yakhtalifūna The Jews say, “The Christians are not based on anything;” and the Christians say, “The Jews are not based on anything.” Yet they both read the Scripture. Similarly, the ignorant said the same thing. God will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection regarding their differences. 002-113 ‍‍‌‌ ‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‌ ‌ ‍‌ ‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‌ ‍‍‌‌ ‌ ‍‌ ‌ ‍‍‍ ‍‍ ۗ ‍‍‍‍ ‌ ‍‍‍ ۚ ‍‍‍ ‌ ‌ ‍‍‍‍‍ ‍‍‍
Wa Man 'Ažlamu Mimman Mana`a Masājida Allāhi 'An Yudhkara Fīhā Asmuhu Wa Sa`á Fī Khabihā ۚ 'Ūlā'ika Mā Kāna Lahum 'An Yadkhulūhā 'Ilā Khā'ifīna ۚ Lahum Ad-DunKhizyun Wa Lahum Al-'Ākhirati `Adhābun `Ažīmun Who is more unjust than him who forbids the remembrance of God’s name in places of worship, and contributes to their ruin? These ought not to enter them except in fear. For them is disgrace in this world, and for them is a terrible punishment in the Hereafter. 002-114 ‍‌ ‌‍‍ ‍‍‍‍‌‍ ‌‌‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌‍ۚ‍‍‌‍‍‍ ‌ ‍‍‍ ‌‌‍‍‍‍‌ ‌‌ ‍‍‍ۚ ‍‌‍‌ ‌ ‌ ‍‍ ‍‍‌‍‍
Wa Lillāh Al-Mashriqu Wa Al-Maghribu ۚ Fa'aynamā Tuwallū Fathamma Wajhu Allāhi 'Inna ۚ Allāha Wāsi`un `Alīmun To God belong the East and the West. Whichever way you turn, there is God’s presence. God is Omnipresent and Omniscient. 002-115 ‍‍ ۚ‌ ‍ۚ ‍ ‌‌
Wa Qālū Attakhadha Allāhu Waladāan ۗ Subĥānahu ۖ Bal Lahu Mā Fī As-Samāwāti Wa Al-'Arđi ۖ Kullun Lahu Qānitūna And they say, “God has begotten a son.” Be He glorified. Rather, His is everything in the heavens and the earth; all are obedient to Him. 002-116 ‍‍‍‌ ‍ ‌‌‌ۗ‍‍‍‍ ۖ‍‌‍‍‌‌‍ ۖ ‌ ‍
Badī`u As-Samāwāti Wa Al-'Arđi ۖ Wa 'Idhā Qá 'Aman Fa'innamā Yaqūlu Lahu Kun Fayakūnu Originator of the heavens and the earth. Whenever He decrees a thing, He says to it, “Be,” and it becomes. 002-117 ‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍ ۖ ‌‌‌‌‌ ‍‍‌ ‌‌‌‍‌ ‍‍‍ ‍‌
Wa Qāla Al-Ladhīna Lā Ya`lamūna Lawlā Yukallimunā Al-Lahu 'Aw Ta'tīnā 'Āyatun ۗ Kadhālika Qāla Al-Ladhīna Min Qablihim Mithla Qawlihim ۘ Tashābahat Qulūbuhum ۗ Qad Bayyannā Al-'Āyāti Liqawminqinūna Those who do not know say, “If only God would speak to us, or a sign would come to us.” Thus said those who were before them. Their hearts are alike. We have made the signs clear for people who are certain. 002-118 ‍‍‍‍ ‌ ‍‍‍ ‌ ‌ ‌‌‌ ‍‌ ‌‌ۗ ‍‍‍‍ ‍‌ ‍‍ۘ ۗ ‌ ‍‍‍‍‌ ‍‍‍‍
'Innā 'Arsalnāka Bil-Ĥaqqi Bashīrāan Wa Nadhīrāan ۖ Wa Lā Tus'alu `An 'Aşĥābi Al-Jaĥīmi We have sent you with the truth—bringing good news, and giving warnings. You will not be questioned about the inmates of Hell. 002-119 ‌ ‌‌‍‍‍‌ ‌‍ۖ ‌‌ ‍‌ ‌‍‍‍‍‍
Wa Lan Tarđá `Anka Al-Yahūdu Wa Lā An-Naşārá Ĥattá Tattabi`a Millatahum ۗ Qul 'Inna Hudá Allāhi Huwa Al-Hudá ۗ Wa La'ini Attaba`ta 'Ahwā'ahum Ba`da Al-Ladhī Jā'aka Mina Al-`Ilmi ۙ Mā Laka Mina Allāhi Min Wa Līyin Wa Lā Naşīrin The Jews and the Christians will not approve of you, unless you follow their creed. Say, “God’s guidance is the guidance.” Should you follow their desires, after the knowledge that has come to you, you will have in God neither guardian nor helper. 002-120 ‍‌‍‌ ‍‌‍‍‍‍‌‌ ‌‌ ‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‌ ‌ ۗ ‍ ‌ ‌‌ ‍ ‌ ‌‌ ۗ‍‍‌‌ ‌ ‍‍ ۙ‍ ‍‌‌ ‌‌ ‍‍‍‍‍‍‍
Al-Ladhīna 'Ātaynāhumu Al-Kitāba Yatlūnahu Ĥaqqa Tilāwatihi~ 'Ūlā'ika Yu'uminūna Bihi ۗ Wa Man Yakfur Bihi Fa'ūlā'ika Humu Al-Khāsirūna Those to whom We have given the Scripture follow it, as it ought to be followed—these believe in it. But as for those who reject it—these are the losers. 002-121 ‍‍‍‍ ‌ ‍‍ ‌ ‌‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍ ۗ ‌‍‌ ‌ ‍ ‍‍‌‍‍‍ ‍‍‍‌
Yā Banī 'Isrā'īla Adhkurū Ni`matiya Allatī 'An`amtu `Alaykum Wa 'Annī Fađđaltukum `Alá Al-`Ālamīna O Children of Israel! Remember My blessing which I bestowed upon you, and that I have favored you over all people. 002-122 ‌ ‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‌‌ ‌‌‍ ‌‌‍ ‍‍‍‍ ‌
Wa Attaqū Yawmāan Lā Tajzī Nafsun `An Nafsin Shay'āan Wa Lā Yuqbalu Minhā `Adlun Wa Lā Tanfa`uhā Shafā`atun Wa Lā Hum Yunşarūna And beware of a Day when no soul will avail another soul in any way, and no ransom will be accepted from it, and no intercession will benefit it, and they will not be helped. 002-123 ‌‍‍‍‌ ‌ ‍‍‍‍ ‍‌‌ ‍‍‍‌ ‌‌ ‍‍‍‍ ‍‌‍‍‍‌ ‍‌ ‌‌ ‍‌‍‍‍‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‌
Wa 'Idh Abtalá 'Ibhīma Rabbuhu Bikalimātin Fa'atammahunna ۖ Qāla 'Innī Jā`iluka Lilnnāsi 'Imāmāan ۖ Qāla Wa Min Dhurrīyatī ۖ Qāla Lā Yanālu `Ahdī Až-Žālimīna And when his Lord tested Abraham with certain words, and he fulfilled them. He said, “I am making you a leader of humanity.” He said, “And my descendants?” He said, “My pledge does not include the wrongdoers.” 002-124 ‌‌‌ ‍‍‌ ‌‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍ ‌‍‍‍‌ ‍‍‍‍‍ ۖ ‍ ‍‍‍‍‍ ‌‌ۖ ‌‍‌ ‌‌ ۖ ‌ ‍‍‍ ‍‍
Wa 'Idh Ja`alnā Al-Bayta Mathābatan Lilnnāsi Wa 'Amnāan Wa Attakhidhū Min Maqāmi 'Ibhīma Muşallan ۖ Wa `Ahidnā 'Ilá 'Ibhīma Wa 'Ismā`īla 'An Ţahhirā Baytiya Lilţţā'ifīna Wa Al-`Ākifīna Wa Ar-Rukka`i As-Sujūdi And We made the House a focal point for the people, and a sanctuary. Use the shrine of Abraham as a place of prayer. And We commissioned Abraham and Ishmael, “Sanctify My House for those who circle around it, and those who seclude themselves in it, and those who kneel and prostrate.” 002-125 ‌‌‌ ‌ ‍‍ ‌ ‍‍‍‍‍ ‌‌‌ ‌‍‍‍‌‌ ‍‌‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍ ‍‍‍ۖ ‌‍‌ ‌‍‌ ‌‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍ ‌‌‍‍‍‍‍ ‌‌ ‍‍‌‌ ‍‍‍‍‍‍‍ ‌‍‍‍‍ ‌‍‌
Wa 'Idh Qāla 'Ibhīmu Rabbi Aj`al Hādhā Baladāan 'Āmināan Wa Arzuq 'Ahlahu Mina Ath-Thamarāti Man 'Āmana Minhum Billāhi Wa Al-Yawmi Al-'Ākhiri ۖ Qāla Wa Man Kafara Fa'umatti`uhu Qalīlāan Thumma 'Ađţarruhu~ 'Ilá `Adhābi An-Nāri ۖ Wa Bi'sa Al-Maşīru When Abraham said, “O My Lord, make this a peaceful land, and provide its people with fruits—whoever of them believes in God and the Last Day.” He said, “And whoever disbelieves, I will give him a little enjoyment, then I will consign him to the punishment of the Fire; how miserable the destiny!” 002-126 ‌‌‌ ‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍ ‌‍ ‍ ‌‌ ‌‌‌ ‌‌ ‌‌‌ ‌‍ ‍‍‍‌ ‍‌ ‌ ‍‌‍‍‍ ‍‍ ‌ ‍‍‍‌ ۖ ‌‍‌‌ ‍ ‍‌‌ ‍ ‌‍‍‍~ ‌‌ ‍‍‌ ‍‍‍‍‍‍‌ ۖ‍‍
Wa 'Idh Yarfa`u 'Ibhīmu Al-Qawā`ida Mina Al-Bayti Wa 'Ismā`īlu Rabbanā Taqabbal Minnā ۖ 'Innaka 'Anta As-Samī`u Al-`Alīmu As Abraham raises the foundations of the House, together with Ishmael, “Our Lord, accept it from us, You are the Hearer, the Knower. 002-127 ‌‌‌ ‌‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‌ ‍‍‍ ‌‌‍‍‍‍‍ ‌‍‌ ‍‍‍‍ ‍‍‍ۖ‍ ‌‌‍‍‍‍‍
Rabbanā Wa Aj`alnā Muslimayni Laka Wa Min Dhurrīyatinā 'Ummatan Muslimatan Laka Wa 'Arinā Manāsikanā Wa Tub `Alaynā ۖ 'Innaka 'Anta At-Tawwābu Ar-Raĥīmu Our Lord, and make us submissive to You, and from our descendants a community submissive to You. And show us our rites, and accept our repentance. You are the Acceptor of Repentance, the Merciful. 002-128 ‌ ‌‍‌ ‍‍‍‍ ‌‍‌ ‌‌‍‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌‌ ‌ ‌‍ۖ‍ ‌‌‍‍‌
Rabbanā Wa Ab`ath Fīhim Rasūlāan Minhum Yatlū `Alayhim 'Āyātika Wa Yu`allimuhumu Al-Kitāba Wa Al-Ĥikmata Wa Yuzakkīhim ۚ 'Innaka 'Anta Al-`Azīzu Al-Ĥakīmu Our Lord, and raise up among them a messenger, of themselves, who will recite to them Your revelations, and teach them the Book and wisdom, and purify them. You are the Almighty, the Wise.” 002-129 ‌ ‌‍ ‌‍‌ ‍‌‍‍‍ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‍‍ۚ‍ ‌‌‍‍‍‍‌
Wa Man Yarghabu `An Millati 'Ibhīma 'Illā Man Safiha Nafsahu ۚ Wa Laqadi Aşţafaynāhu Fī Ad-Dunۖ Wa 'Innahu Fī Al-'Ākhirati Lamina Aş-Şāliĥīna Who would forsake the religion of Abraham, except he who fools himself? We chose him in this world, and in the Hereafter he will be among the righteous. 002-130 ‍‌‍ ‍‌‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍ ‌‌ ‍‌ ۚ ‌‍‍‍‍‌ ‍‍‍‍‍‍ ‍‌‍‌ ۖ ‌‌ ‍‍ ‍‍
'Idh Qāla Lahu Rabbuhu~ 'Aslim ۖ Qāla 'Aslamtu Lirabbi Al-`Ālamīna When his Lord said to him, “Submit!” He said, “I have submitted to the Lord of the Worlds.” 002-131 ‌‌ ‌‍~ۖ ‌ ‍
Wa Waşşá Bihā 'Ibhīmu Banīhi Wa Ya`qūbu Yā Banīya 'Inna Allāha Aşţafá Lakumu Ad-Dīna Falā Tamūtunna 'Illā Wa 'Antum Muslimūna And Abraham exhorted his sons, and Jacob, “O my sons, God has chosen this religion for you, so do not die unless you have submitted.” 002-132 ‌‍‍‌ ‍‌ ‌‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍ ‍‍‍‍‍ ‌‍‍‍ ‌ ‌ ‍‍‍‌ ‍‍‍‍ ‌ ‍ ‌‌ ‌‌‌
'Am Kuntum Shuhadā'a 'Idh Ĥađara Ya`qūba Al-Mawtu 'Idh Qāla Libanīhi Mā Ta`budūna Min Ba`dī Qālū Na`budu 'Ilahaka Wa 'Ilaha 'Ābā'ika 'Ibhīma Wa 'Ismā`īla Wa 'Isĥāqa 'Ilahāan Wāĥidāan Wa Naĥnu Lahu Muslimūna Or were you witnesses when death approached Jacob, and he said to his sons, “What will you worship after Me?” They said, “We will worship your God, and the God of your fathers, Abraham, Ishmael, and Isaac; One God; and to Him we submit.” 002-133 ‍‌‍‍‍‍‌‌‌ ‌‌‌ ‍‍‍‌ ‍‍‍ ‌‌‌ ‍‍‍‍ ‌ ‍‍‌ ‍‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍ ‌‌‍‍‍‍‍ ‌‌‍‍‍‌ ‌‌‌‌ ‌ ‍
Tilka 'Ummatun Qad Khalat ۖ Lahā Mā Kasabat Wa Lakum Mā Kasabtum ۖ Wa Lā Tus'alūna `Ammā Kānū Ya`malūna That was a community that has passed; for them is what they have earned, and for you is what you have earned; and you will not be questioned about what they used to do. 002-134 ‍‌ۖ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‍‍‍ۖ ‌‌ ‍‍‍‍‍‍‌
Wa Qālū Kūnū Hūdāan 'Aw Naşārá Tahtadū ۗ Qul Bal Millata 'Ibhīma Ĥanīfāan ۖ Wa Mā Kāna Mina Al-Mushrikīna And they say, “Be Jews or Christians, and you will be guided.” Say, “Rather, the religion of Abraham, the Monotheist; he was not an idolater.” 002-135 ‌ ‌‌‌ ‌‌‌ ‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‌ ‌ۗ ‍ ‌‍‍‌‍‍‍‍ۖ ‌‌ ‍‍‍
Qūlū 'Āmannā Billāhi Wa Mā 'Unzila 'Ilaynā Wa Mā 'Unzila 'Ilá 'Ibhīma Wa 'Ismā`īla Wa 'Isĥāqa Wa Ya`qūba Wa Al-'Asbāţi Wa Mā 'Ūtiya Mūsá Wa `Īsá Wa Mā 'Ūtiya An-Nabīyūna Min Rabbihim Lā Nufarriqu Bayna 'Aĥadin Minhum Wa Naĥnu Lahu Muslimūna Say, “We believe in God; and in what was revealed to us; and in what was revealed to Abraham, and Ishmael, and Isaac, and Jacob, and the Patriarchs; and in what was given to Moses and Jesus; and in what was given to the prophets—from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them, and to Him we surrender.” 002-136 ‍‍‌ ‌‍‍‍‍‌ ‍‍ ‌‍‌ ‌‌‍ ‌‌ ‌‍‌ ‌‌‍ ‌‍‌ ‌‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍ ‌‌‍‍‍‍‍ ‌‌‍‍‍ ‌‍‍‍‍‍ ‌‍‌ ‌‍‍‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌‍‌ ‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍ ‍‌ ‌‍ ‌ ‍‍‍‍ ‌‌ ‍‌‍‍‍ ‌ ‍
Fa'in 'Āmanū Bimithli Mā 'Āmantum Bihi Faqadi Ahtadaw ۖ Wa 'In Tawallaw Fa'innamā HumShiqāqin ۖ Fasayakfīkahumu Allāhu ۚ Wa Huwa As-Samī`u Al-`Alīmu If they believe in the same as you have believed in, then they have been guided. But if they turn away, then they are in schism. God will protect you against them; for He is the Hearer, the Knower. 002-137 ‌ ‍‌ ‌‍‌‍‍‍ ‍‍‍‍‌ ‌‌‌ ۖ ‌‌‌ ‌‌ ‍‌ ‍‍‍ۖ ۚ ‌‌ ‍‍‍‍‍
Şibghata Allāhi ۖ Wa Man 'Aĥsanu Mina Allāhi Şibghatan ۖ Wa Naĥnu Lahu `Ābidūna God’s coloring. And who gives better coloring than God? “And we are devoted to Him.” 002-138 ‍‍‍‍‍‍ۖ ‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍ ۖ ‌ ‍
Qul 'Atuĥājjūnanā Fī Al-Lahi Wa Huwa Rabbunā Wa Rabbukum Wa Lanā 'A`mālunā Wa Lakum 'A`mālukum Wa Naĥnu Lahu Mukhlişūna Say, “Do you argue with us about God, when He is our Lord and your Lord, and We have our works, and you have your works, and we are sincere to Him?” 002-139 ‍ ‌‍‍‍ ‌‌ ‌‍‌ ‌‌‍ ‌‍‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‍‍‍‍‍‍‍
'Am Taqūlūna 'Inna 'Ibhīma Wa 'Ismā`īla Wa 'Isĥāqa Wa Ya`qūba Wa Al-'Asbāţa Kānū Hūdāan 'Aw Naşārá ۗ Qul 'A'antum 'A`lamu 'Ami Allāhu ۗ Wa Man 'Ažlamu Mimman Katama Shahādatan `Indahu Mina Allāhi ۗ Wa Mā Al-Lahu Bighāfilin `Ammā Ta`malūna Or do you say that Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, and the Patriarchs were Jews or Christians? Say, “Do you know better, or God?” And who does greater wrong than he who conceals a testimony he has from God? God is not unaware of what you do. 002-140 ‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍ ‌‌‍‍‍‍‍ ‌‌‍‍‍ ‌‍‍‍‍‍ ‌ ‌‌‌ ‌‌‌ ‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‌ ۗ ‍ ‌‌‌‍ ‌ ‌ ۗ ‌‍‌ ‌‍‍ ‍‍‍‍‌ ‌ ‍‌‍‍ ۗ ‌‌ ‍‍‍ ‍‍‍‍‌
Tilka 'Ummatun Qad Khalat ۖ Lahā Mā Kasabat Wa Lakum Mā Kasabtum ۖ Wa Lā Tus'alūna `Ammā Kānū Ya`malūna That was a community that has passed. Sayaqūlu As-Sufahā'u Mina An-Nāsi Mā Wa Llāhum `An Qiblatihimu Allatī Kānū `Alayhā ۚ Qul Lillāh Al-Mashriqu Wa Al-Maghribu ۚ Yahdī Man Yashā'u 'Ilá Şirāţin Mustaqīmin The ignorant among the people will say, “What has turned them away from the direction of prayer they once followed?” Say, “To God belong the East and the West. He guides whom He wills to a straight path.” 002-142 ‍‍‍‍‌‌ ‍‍‍‍ ‌ ‌ ‍‌ ‍‍ ‌ ‌ ۚ ‍‍ ۚ ‍‌‍‍‌‌ ‌‌ ‍‌‌ ‍‍‍
Wa Kadhalika Ja`alnākum 'Ummatan Wasaţāan Litakūnū Shuhadā'a `Alá An-Nāsi Wa Yakūna Ar-Rasūlu `Alaykum Shahīdāan ۗ Wa Mā Ja`alnā Al-Qiblata Allatī Kunta `Alayhā 'Illā Lina`lama Man Yattabi`u Ar-Rasūla Mimman Yanqalibu `Alá `Aqibayhi ۚ Wa 'In Kānat Lakabīratan 'Illā `Alá Al-Ladhīna Hadá Allāhu ۗ Wa Mā Kāna Allāhu Liyuđī`a 'Īmānakum ۚ 'Inna Allāha Bin-Nāsi Lara'ūfun Raĥīmun Thus We made you a moderate community, that you may be witnesses to humanity, and that the Messenger may be a witness to you. We only established the direction of prayer, which you once followed, that We may distinguish those who follow the Messenger from those who turn on their heels. It is indeed difficult, except for those whom God has guided. But God would never let your faith go to waste. God is Kind towards the people, Merciful. God is Kind towards the people, Merciful. 002-143 ‌ ‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‌‌ ‌ ‍‍‍‍ ‌‍‍‍ ‍‍ۗ ‌‌ ‌ ‍‍‍‍ ‍‌‍‍‍ ‍‌ ‌‌ ‍‌ ‍‍‍‍‍‌ ‍‌‍‍‍‍‍ ‌ ‍‍‍‍‍‍‍ۚ ‌‌‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‍‍‍‍ ‌‌ ۗ ‌‌ ‍‍‍ ‍ ‍‍‍‍‍‍ ‌ ۚ ‍ ‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌ ‌ ‌‍
Qad Nará Taqalluba Wajhika Fī As-Samā'i Falanuwalliyannaka ۖ Qiblatan Tarđāhā Fawalli Wajhaka ۚ Shaţra Al-Masjidi Al-Ĥarāmi Wa Ĥaythu Mā ۚ Kuntum Fawallū Wujūhakum Shaţrahu Wa 'Inna Al-Ladhīna ۗ 'Ūtū Al-Kitāba Laya`lamūna 'Annahu Al-Ĥaqqu Min Rabbihim Wa Mā Al-Lahu ۗ Bighāfilin `Ammā Ya`malūna We have seen your face turned towards the heaven. So We will turn you towards a direction that will satisfy you. So turn your face towards the Sacred Mosque. And wherever you may be, turn your faces towards it. Those who were given the Book know that it is the Truth from their Lord; and God is not unaware of what they do. 002-144 ‌ ‍‌‌ ‍‍‍‍ ‌‍‍‍‍‌‌ ۖ‍‍‍‍‍‌ ‌ ‍‍‌ ۚ‍ ‍‍‍‍‍‍‌ ۚ ‌‍‍‍‍ ‌ ‍‌‍‍‌ ‌ ‍‍‍‍‍ ۗ ‌‌ ‍‍‍‍ ‌‍‍‍‍‍‍ ‍‌ ‌‍ ۗ ‌‌ ‍‍‍ ‍‍‍‍‌
Wa La'in 'Atayta Al-Ladhīna 'Ūtū Al-Kitāba Bikulli 'Āyatin Mā Tabi`ū Qiblataka ۚ Wa Mā 'Anta Bitābi`in Qiblatahum ۚ Wa Mā Ba`đuhum Bitābi`in Qiblata Ba`đin ۚ Wa La'ini Attaba`ta 'Ahwā'ahum Min Ba`di Mā Jā'aka Mina Al-`Ilmi ۙ 'Innaka 'Idhāan Lamina Až-Žālimīna Even if you were to bring to those who were given the Book every proof, they would not follow your direction, nor are you to follow their direction, nor do they follow the direction of one another. And if you were to follow their desires, after the knowledge that has come to you, you would be in that case one of the wrongdoers. 002-145 ‍‌ ‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍ ‌‍‍‍‍‌ ‌ ‍‍ۚ ‌‍‌ ‌‌‍ ‌‍‍ۚ ‌‌ ‍‍‍‍ ‌‍‍‍ ‍ۚ‍‍‌‌ ‍‌ ‌ ‌ ‍‍‍ ۙ‍ ‌‌‌‍‍
Al-Ladhīna 'Ātaynāhumu Al-Kitāba Ya`rifūnahu Kamā Ya`rifūna 'Abnā'ahum ۖ Wa 'Inna Farīqāan Minhum Layaktumūna Al-Ĥaqqa Wa Hum Ya`lamūna Those to whom We have given the Book recognize it as they recognize their own children. But some of them conceal the truth while they know. 002-146 ‍‍‍‍ ‌ ‍‍ ‌ ‍‍‍‍‍‍‍ۖ ‌‌‍‍‌ ‍‌‍‍‍ ‍‍‍
Al-Ĥaqqu Min Rabbika ۖ Falā Takūnanna Mina Al-Mumtarīna The truth is from your Lord, so do not be a skeptic. 002-147 ‍‌ ‌‍ ۖ ‌ ‍
Wa Likullin Wijhatun Huwa Muwallīhā ۖ Fāstabiqū Al-Khayrāti ۚ 'Ayna Mā Takūnū Ya'ti Bikumu Allāhu Jamī`āan ۚ 'Inna Allāha `Alá Kulli Shay'in Qadīrun To every community is a direction towards which it turns. Therefore, race towards goodness. Wherever you may be, God will bring you all together. God is capable of everything. 002-148 ‌ ‌‍ ‌ ‌ ۖ‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌ ۚ‍ ‌ ‍ ‌ۚ ‍ ‌ ‍
Wa Min Ĥaythu Kharajta Fawalli Wajhaka Shaţra Al-Masjidi Al-Ĥarāmi Wa 'Innahu ۖ Lalĥaqqu Min Rabbika Wa Mā ۗ Al-Lahu Bighāfilin `Ammā Ta`malūna And wherever you come from, turn your face towards the Sacred Mosque. This is the truth from your Lord, and God is not heedless of what you do. 002-149 ‍‌‍‍‍ ‌‍ ‍‍‍‍‍‍‌ ۖ ‌‌ ‍‌ ‌‍ ۗ ‌‌ ‍‍‍ ‍‍‍‍‌
Wa Min Ĥaythu Kharajta Fawalli Wajhaka Shaţra Al-Masjidi Al-Ĥarāmi Wa Ĥaythu ۚ Mā Kuntum Fawallū Wujūhakum Shaţrahu Li'allā Yakūna Lilnnāsi `Alaykum Ĥujjatun 'Illā Al-Ladhīna Žalamū Minhum Falā Takhshawhum Wa Akhshawnī Wa Li'atimma Ni`matī `Alaykum Wa La`allakum Tahtadūna And wherever you come from, turn your face towards the Sacred Mosque. And wherever you may be, turn your faces towards it. So that the people may not have any argument against you—except those who do wrong among them. So do not fear them, but fear Me, that I may complete My blessings upon you, and that you may be guided. 002-150 ‍‌‍‍‍ ‌‍ ‍‍‍‍‍‍‌ ۚ ‌‍‍‍‍ ‌ ‍‌‍‍‌ ‌ ‍‍‍‍‍ ‌ ‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌ ‌‌ ‍‍‍‌ ‍‌‍‍‍ ‌ ‍‍‍‍ ‌‍ ‌‍ ‌ ‌
Kamā 'Arsalnā Fīkum Rasūlāan Minkum Yatlū `Alaykum 'Āyātinā Wa Yuzakkīkum Wa Yu`allimukumu Al-Kitāba Wa Al-Ĥikmata Wa Yu`allimukum Mā Lam Takūnū Ta`lamūna Just as We sent to you a messenger from among you, who recites Our revelations to you, and purifies you, and teaches you the Book and wisdom, and teaches you what you did not know. 002-151 ‌ ‌‌‌ ‌‍‌ ‍‌‍‍‍ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‍‍ ‌ ‌
dhkurūnī 'Adhkurkum Wa Ashkurū Lī Wa Lā Takfurūni So remember Me, and I will remember you. And thank Me, and do not be ungrateful. 002-152 ‌‌‍ ‌‌ ‌‌ ‌‌ ‌
Yā 'Ayyuhā Al-Ladhīna 'Āmanū Asta`īnū Biş-Şabri Wa Aş-Şalāati ۚ 'Inna Allāha Ma`a Aş-Şābirīna O you who believe! Seek help through patience and prayers. God is with the steadfast. 002-153 ‌ ‌‌ ‍‍‍‍ ‌‌ ‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌ ‌‍‍ۚ ‍‍‍‍
Wa Lā Taqūlū Liman Yuqtalu Fī Sabīli Allāhi 'Amwātun ۚ Bal 'Aĥyā'un Wa Lakin Lā Tash`urūna And do not say of those who are killed in the cause of God, “Dead.” Rather, they are alive, but you do not perceive. 002-154 ‌ ‍‍‍‌ ‍‌‍‍‍ ‍‍‍‍‍ ‌‍‍‌ۚ ‌‍‍‍‌ ‌‍‌ ‌ ‌
Wa Lanabluwannakum Bishay'in Mina Al-Khawfi Wa Al-Jū`i Wa Naqşin Mina Al-'Amwli Wa Al-'Anfusi Wa Ath-Thamarāti ۗ Wa Bashshiri Aş-Şābirīna We will certainly test you with some fear and hunger, and some loss of possessions and lives and crops. But give good news to the steadfast. 002-155 ‍‍‍ ‍‍‍‍‍ ‌‍‍‍‍‍‌ ‌‍ ‌‍‍‍‌ ۗ ‌‌ ‍‍‍‍
Al-Ladhīna 'Idhā 'Aşābat/hum Muşībatun Qālū 'Innā Lillāh Wa 'Innā 'Ilayhi ji`ūna Those who, when a calamity afflicts them, say, “To God we belong, and to Him we will return.” 002-156 ‍‍‍‍ ‌‌‌ ‌‍‍ ‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‌ ‌‍‌ ‌‌‌ ‌‍‍‍‍ ‌‍
'Ūlā'ika `Alayhim Şalawātun Min Rabbihim Wa Raĥmatun ۖ Wa 'Ūlā'ika Humu Al-Muhtadūna Upon these are blessings and mercy from their Lord. These are the guided ones. 002-157 ‍‍‌‍‍‍ ‍‍‌‌ ‍‌ ‌‍ ‌‌‍ۖ ‌‌‍‍‌‍‍‍
'Inna Aş-Şafā Wa Al-Marwata Min Sha`ā'iri Allāhi ۖ Faman Ĥajja Al-Bayta 'Aw A`tamara Falā Junāĥa `Alayhi 'An Yaţţawwafa Bihimā ۚ Wa Man Taţawwa`a Khayan Fa'inna Allāha Shākirun `Alīmun Safa and Marwa are among the rites of God. Whoever makes the Pilgrimage to the House, or performs the Umrah, commits no error by circulating between them. Whoever volunteers good—God is Appreciative and Cognizant. 002-158 ‍‍‍‌ ‌‌ ‍‌‍‍ۖ ‍‌ ‍‍‍ ‌‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‍‍‍‍‍‍ ‌‌‍‍‍ ‌ ۚ ‌‍‌‍‍‍‌‌ ‍ ‌
'Inna Al-Ladhīna Yaktumūna Mā 'Anzalnā Mina Al-Bayyināti Wa Al-Hudá Min Ba`di Mā Bayyannāhu Lilnnāsi Fī Al-Kitābi ۙ 'Ūlā'ika Yal`anuhumu Allāhu Wa Yal`anuhumu Al-Lā`inūna Those who suppress the proofs and the guidance We have revealed, after We have clarified them to humanity in the Scripture—those—God curses them, and the cursers curse them. 002-159 ‍‍‍‍ ‍‍‍‌ ‌‌‍‌ ‍‍‌‌ ‍‌ ‌ ‌ ‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍ ‍‍ ۙ‍‍‌‍‍‍ ‍ ‌
'Illā Al-Ladhīna Tābū Wa 'Aşlaĥū Wa Bayyanū Fa'ūlā'ika 'Atūbu `Alayhim ۚ Wa 'Anā At-Tawwābu Ar-Raĥīmu Except those who repent, and reform, and proclaim. Those—I will accept their repentance. I am the Acceptor of Repentance, the Merciful. 002-160 ‍‍‍‌ ‌‌‍‌ ‌‍‍‌‍‍‍ ‌‍‍‍ ۚ ‌‌‌ ‍‍‌
'Inna Al-Ladhīna Kafarū Wa Mātū Wa Hum Kuffārun 'Ūlā'ika `Alayhim La`natu Allāhi Wa Al-Malā'ikati Wa An-Nāsi 'Ajma`īna But as for those who reject faith, and die rejecting—those—upon them is the curse of God, and of the angels, and of all humanity. 002-161 ‍‍‍‍ ‌‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‍‍‍‌‌ ‌‍‍‌‍‍‍ ‍ ‌‍‍‍‍
Khālidīna Fīhā ۖ Lā Yukhaffafu `Anhumu Al-`Adhābu Wa Lā Hum Yunžarūna They will remain under it forever, and the torment will not be lightened for them, and they will not be reprieved. 002-162 ‍‍‍‍ ‌ ۖ ‌ ‍‍‍‍ ‍‌‍‍‍‍‌ ‌‌ ‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‌
Wa 'Ilahukum 'Ilahun Wāĥidun ۖ Lā 'Ilāha 'Illā Huwa Ar-Raĥmānu Ar-Raĥīmu Your God is one God. There is no god but He, the Benevolent, the Compassionate. 002-163 ‌ ‌‌ ‌‌ۖ ‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌
'Inna Fī Khalqi As-Samāwāti Wa Al-'Arđi Wa Akhtilāfi Al-Layli Wa An-Nahāri Wa Al-Fulki Allatī Tajrī Fī Al-Baĥri Bimā Yanfa`u An-Nāsa Wa Mā 'Anzala Allāhu Mina As-Samā'i Min Mā'in Fa'aĥyā Bihi Al-'Arđa Ba`da Mawtihā Wa Baththa Fīhā Min Kulli Dābbatin Wa Taşrīfi Ar-Riyāĥi Wa As-Saĥābi Al-Musakhkhari Bayna As-Samā'i Wa Al-'Arđi La'āyātin Liqawmin Ya`qilūna In the creation of the heavens and the earth; in the alternation of night and day; in the ships that sail the oceans for the benefit of mankind; in the water that God sends down from the sky, and revives the earth with it after it had died, and scatters in it all kinds of creatures; in the changing of the winds, and the clouds disposed between the sky and the earth; are signs for people who understand. 002-164 ‍‍ ‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍ ‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌ ‌ ‍‍ ‍‍‌ ‌ ‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍ ‌‍‌ ‌‌‍‍‍‍‌‌ ‍‌‍‍‌‌‌ ‌ ‌‍ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‍‌‍‍‌‌ ‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍ ‍‍‍‍‌ ‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‌ ‌‌‍‍‍‌ ‍‍‍‌ ‍‍‍
Wa Mina An-Nāsi Man Yattakhidhu Min Dūni Allāhi 'Andādāan Yuĥibbūnahum Kaĥubbi Allāhi Wa ۖ Al-Ladhīna 'Āmanū 'Ashaddu Ĥubbāan Lillāh ۗ Wa Law Yará Al-Ladhīna Žalamū 'Idh Yarawna Al-`Adhāba 'Anna Al-Qūwata Lillāh Jamī`āan Wa 'Anna Allāha Shadīdu Al-`Adhābi Yet among the people are those who take other than God as equals to Him. They love them as the love of God. But those who believe have greater love for God. If only the wrongdoers would realize, when they see the torment; that all power is God’s, and that God is severe in punishment. 002-165 ‍‍‍‍ ‍‌‍‍‍‌ ‍‌‍‍‌ ‍ ‌‌‍‌‌‌ۖ‍‍‍‍ ‌‍‌ ‌‌ ۗ ‌‌ ‍‌‌ ‍‍‍‍‍‌ ‌‌‌ ‍ ‍‍‌ ‍‍ ‌ ‌‌ ‍‍‍‍‌
'Idh Tabarra'a Al-Ladhīna Attubi`ū Mina Al-Ladhīna Attaba`ū Wa Ra'aw Al-`Adhāba Wa Taqaţţa`at Bihimu Al-'Asbābu Those who were followed will then disown those who followed them, and they will see the retribution, and ties between them will be severed. 002-166 ‌‌ ‍‌‌ ‍‍‍‍‍‍‌ ‌‌‍‌‌‌‌ ‍‍‌ ‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍
Wa Qāla Al-Ladhīna Attaba`ū Law 'Anna Lanā Karratan Fanatabarra'a Minhum Kamā Tabarra'ū Minnā ۗ Kadhālika Yurīhimu Allāhu 'A`mālahum Ĥasarātin `Alayhim ۖ Wa Mā Hum Bikhārijīna Mina An-Nāri Those who followed will say, “If only we can have another chance, we will disown them, as they disowned us.” Thus God will show them their deeds, as regrets to them, and they will not come out of the Fire. 002-167 ‍‍‍‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‍ ‌ ‍‌‌ ‍‌‍‍‍ ‌ ‍‍‍‌‌‌ ‍‍‍‍‌ ۗ ‍ ‌ ‍‍‌ ۖ ‌‌ ‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍
Yā 'Ayyuhā An-Nāsu Kulū Mimmā Fī Al-'Arđi Ĥalālāan Ţayyibāan Wa Lā Tattabi`ū Khuţuwāti Ash-Shayţāni ۚ 'Innahu Lakum `Adūwun Mubīn O people! Eat of what is lawful and good on earth, and do not follow the footsteps of Satan. He is to you an open enemy. 002-168 ‌ ‌‌ ‍‍‍‍ ‌ ‍‍‍‍‌ ‌‍‌ ‌‌ ‍‍‍‍‌ ‍‍‍‍ ۚ‌ ‍‍‍
'Innamā Ya'murukum Bis-Sū'i Wa Al-Faĥshā'i Wa 'An Taqūlū `Alá Allāhi Mā Lā Ta`lamūna He commands you to do evil and vice, and to say about God what you do not know. 002-169 ‍‌ ‍‍‍‍‍‌‌ ‌‍‍‌‌ ‌‌‌‍‍‌ ‌ ‍ ‌ ‌
Wa 'Idhā Qīla Lahum Attabi`ū Mā 'Anzala Allāhu Qālū Bal Nattabi`u Mā 'Alfaynā `Alayhi 'Ābā'anā ۗ 'Awalaw Kāna 'Ābā'uuhum Lā Ya`qilūna Shay'āan Wa Lā Yahtadūna And when it is said to them, “Follow what God has revealed,” they say, “We will follow what we found our ancestors following.” Even if their ancestors understood nothing, and were not guided? 002-170 ‌‌‌‌ ‍‍‌ ‍‌ ‌‌‌ ‍‌ ‌‌ ‍‍‍‍ ‌‍‍‍‌‍ۗ ‌‌‌ ‍‍‍ ‌‍‍‍‌ ‌ ‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌ ‌‌ ‌
Wa Mathalu Al-Ladhīna Kafarū Kamathali Al-Ladhī Yan`iqu Bimā Lā Yasma`u 'Illā Du`ā'an Wa Nidā'an ۚ Şummun Bukmun `Umyun Fahum Lā Ya`qilūna The parable of those who disbelieve is that of someone who calls upon someone who hears nothing except screaming and yelling. Deaf, dumb, and blind—they do not understand. 002-171 ‍‍‍‍ ‌ ‍‌‍‍‍‍ ‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌‍‍‍‌ ‌‍‍‌‌‌ۚ ‍‌‍‌‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‍‍‍
Yā 'Ayyuhā Al-Ladhīna 'Āmanū Kulū Min Ţayyibāti Mā Razaqnākum Wa Ashkurū Lillāh 'In Kuntum 'Īyāhu Ta`budūna O you who believe! Eat of the good things We have provided for you, and give thanks to God, if it is Him that you serve. 002-172 ‌ ‌‌ ‍‍‍‍ ‌‌ ‍‌ ‍‍‍‍ ‌ ‌‍‍‍‍ ‌ ‌‌ ‍‌‍‍‍ ‌‍‍‍
'Innamā Ĥarrama `Alaykumu Al-Maytata Wa Ad-Dama Wa Laĥma Al-Khinzīri Wa Mā 'Uhilla Bihi Lighayri Allāhi ۖ Famani Ađţurra Ghayraghin Wa Lā `Ādin Falā 'Ithma `Alayhi ۚ 'Inna Allāha Ghafūrun Raĥīmun He has forbidden you carrion, and blood, and the flesh of swine, and what was dedicated to other than God. But if anyone is compelled, without desiring or exceeding, he commits no sin. God is Forgiving and Merciful. 002-173 ‍‌ ‍ ‍ ‌ ‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌ ‌‍‌ ‌ ‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌ ۖ ‍‍‍‍‌ ‍‍‍‌ ‌‌ ‍‍‍‌‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‍‍‍ۚ ‍‍‍‍‌ ‌‍
'Inna Al-Ladhīna Yaktumūna Mā 'Anzala Allāhu Mina Al-Kitābi Wa Yashtarūna Bihi Thamanāan Qalīlāan ۙ 'Ūlā'ika Mā Ya'kulūna Fī Buţūnihim 'Illā An-Nāra Wa Lā Yukallimuhumu Allāhu Yawma Al-Qiyāmati Wa Lā Yuzakkīhim Wa Lahum `Adhābun 'Alīmun Those who conceal what God revealed in the Book, and exchange it for a small price—those swallow nothing but fire into their bellies. And God will not speak to them on the Day of Resurrection, nor will He purify them, and they will have a painful punishment. 002-174 ‍‍‍‍ ‍‍‍‌ ‌‌‍‍‍‍‌‍‌ ۙ‍‍‌‍‍‍ ‌ ‍‍‍‍‍‍ ‌‌ ‍‍‍‍‌‍‌ ‌‌ ‍ ‍ ‍‍‍ ‌‌ ‌ ‍‍‌
'Ūlā'ika Al-Ladhīna Ashtaraw Ađ-Đalālata Bil-Hudá Wa Al-`Adhāba Bil-Maghfirati ۚ Famā 'Aşbarahum `Alá An-Nāri It is they who exchange guidance for error, and forgiveness for punishment. But why do they insist on the Fire? 002-175 ‍‍‌‍‍‍ ‍‍‍‌‌‌ ‍‍‍ ‍‌‌ ‌‍‍‌‍‍‍‍ ۚ‌ ‌‍‍‍‍‍
Dhālika Bi'anna Allāha Nazzala Al-Kitāba Bil-Ĥaqqi ۗ Wa 'Inna Al-Ladhīna Akhtalafū Fī Al-Kitābi Lafī Shiqāqin Ba`īdin That is because God has revealed the Book in truth; and those who differ about the Book are in deep discord. 002-176 ‍‍ ۗ ‌‌ ‍‍‍‍‍‍‍
Laysa Al-Birra 'An Tuwallū Wujūhakum Qibala Al-Mashriqi Wa Al-Maghribi Wa Lakinna Al-Birra Man 'Āmana Billāhi Wa Al-Yawmi Al-'Ākhiri Wa Al-Malā'ikati Wa Al-Kitābi Wa An-Nabīyīna Wa 'Ātá Al-Māla `Alá Ĥubbihi Dhawī Al-Qurbá Wa Al-Yatāmá Wa Al-Masākīna Wa Abna As-Sabīli Wa As-Sā'ilīna Wa Fī Ar-Riqābi Wa 'Aqāma Aş-Şalāata Wa 'Ātá Az-Zakāata Wa Al-Mūfūna Bi`ahdihim 'Idhā `Āhadū Wa ۖ Aş-Şābirīna Fī Al-Ba'sā'i Wa Ađ-Đarrā'i Wa Ĥīna Al-Ba'si ۗ 'Ūlā'ika Al-Ladhīna Şadaqū ۖ Wa 'Ūlā'ika Humu Al-Muttaqūna Righteousness does not consist of turning your faces towards the East and the West. But righteous is he who believes in God, and the Last Day, and the angels, and the Scripture, and the prophets. Who gives money, though dear, to near relatives, and orphans, and the needy, and the homeless, and the beggars, and for the freeing of slaves; those who perform the prayers, and pay the obligatory charity, and fulfill their promise when they promise, and patiently persevere in the face of persecution, hardship, and in the time of conflict. These are the sincere; these are the pious. Righteousness does not consist of turning your faces towards the East and the West. But righteous is he who believes in God, and the Last Day, and the angels, and the Scripture, and the prophets. Yā 'Ayyuhā Al-Ladhīna 'Āmanū Kutiba `Alaykumu Al-Qişāşu Fī Al-Qatlá ۖ Al-Ĥurru Bil-Ĥurri Wa Al-`Abdu Bil-`Abdi Wa Al-'Unthá Bil-'Unthá ۚ Faman `Ufiya Lahu Min 'Akhīhi Shay'un Fa Attibā`un Bil-Ma`rūfi Wa 'Adā'un 'Ilayhi Bi'iĥsānin ۗ Dhālika Takhfīfun Min Rabbikum Wa Raĥmatun ۗ Famani A`tadá Ba`da Dhālika Falahu `Adhābun 'Alīmun O you who believe! Retaliation for the murdered is ordained upon you: the free for the free, the slave for the slave, the female for the female. Faman Khāfa Minşin Janafāan 'Aw 'Ithmāan Fa'aşlaĥa Baynahum Falā 'Ithma `Alayhi ۚ 'Inna Allāha Ghafūrun Raĥīmun Should someone suspect bias or injustice on the part of a testator, and then reconciles between them, he commits no sin. Yas'alūnaka `Ani Al-'Ahillati ۖ Qul Hiya Mawāqītu Lilnnāsi Wa Al-Ĥajji ۗ Wa Laysa Al-Birru Bi'an Ta'tū Al-Buyūta Min Žuhūrihā Wa Lakinna Al-Birra Mani Attaqá ۗ Wa 'Tū Al-Buyūta Min 'Abwābihā ۚ Wa Attaqū Allaha La`allakum Tufliĥūna They ask you about the crescents. Say, “They are timetables for people, and for the Hajj.” It is not virtuous that you approach homes from their backs, but virtue is to be pious. Wa Qātilū Fī Sabīli Allāhi Al-Ladhīna Yuqātilūnakum Wa Lā Ta`tadū ۚ 'Inna Allāha Lā Yuĥibbu Al-Mu`tadīna And fight in the cause of God those who fight you, but do not commit aggression; God does not love the aggressors. 002-190 ‌ ‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍ ‍‍‍‍ ‌‌ ۚ ‍ ‌
qtulūhum Ĥaythu Thaqiftumūhum Wa 'Akhrijūhum Min Ĥaythu 'Akhrajūkum Wa ۚ Al-Fitnatu 'Ashaddu Mina Al-Qatli ۚ Wa Lā Tuqātilūhum `Inda Al-Masjidi Al-Ĥarāmi Ĥattá Yuqātilūkum Fīhi ۖ Fa'in Qātalūkumqtulūhum ۗ Kadhālika Jazā'u Al-Kāfirīna And kill them wherever you overtake them, and expel them from where they had expelled you. Wa 'Atimmū Al-Ĥajja Wa Al-`Umrata Lillāh ۚ Fa'in 'Uĥşirtum Famā Astaysara Mina Al-Hadyi ۖ Wa Lā Taĥliqū Ru'ūsakum Ĥattá Yablugha Al-Hadyu Maĥillahu ۚ Faman Kāna Minkum Marīđāan 'Aw Bihi~ 'Adhan Min Ra'sihi Fafidyatun Min Şiyāmin 'Aw Şadaqatin 'Aw Nusukin ۚ Fa'idhā 'Amintum Faman Tamatta`a Bil-`Umrati 'Ilá Al-Ĥajji Famā Astaysara Mina Al-Hadyi ۚ Faman Lam Yajid Faşiyāmu Thalāthati 'Ayyāmin Al-Ĥajji Wa Sab`atin 'Idhā Raja`tum ۗ Tilka `Asharatun Kāmilatun ۗ Dhālika Liman Lam Yakun 'Ahluhu Ĥāđirī Al-Masjidi Al-Ĥarāmi ۚ Wa Attaqū Allaha Wa A`lamū 'Anna Allāha Shadīdu Al-`Iqābi And carry out the Hajj and the Umrah for God. But if you are prevented, then whatever is feasible of offerings. And do not shave your heads until the offering has reached its destination. Whoever of you is sick, or has an injury of the head, then redemption of fasting, or charity, or worship. When you are secure: whoever continues the Umrah until the Hajj, then whatever is feasible of offering. But if he lacks the means, then fasting for three days during the Hajj and seven when you have returned, making ten in all. This is for he whose household is not present at the Sacred Mosque. Al-Ĥajju 'Ash/hurun Ma`lūmātun ۚ Faman Farađa Fīhinna Al-Ĥajja Falā Rafatha Wa Lā Fusūqa Wa Lā Jidāla Fī Al-Ĥajji ۗ Wa Mā Taf`alū Min Khayrin Ya`lamhu Allāhu ۗ Wa Tazawwadū Fa'inna Khayra Az-Zādi At-Taqۚ Wa Attaqūnī Yā 'Ūlī Al-'Albābi The Hajj is during specific months. Whoever decides to perform the Hajj—there shall be no sexual relations, nor misconduct, nor quarrelling during the Hajj. And whatever good you do, God knows it. And take provisions, but the best provision is righteousness. And be mindful of Me, O people of understanding. 002-197 ‌ ‍‍‍ۚ ‍‌ ‌ ‌‍ ‌‌ ‍‍‍ ‌‌ ‍‍‌ ۗ ‌‌ ‌ ‍‌ ‍‍ۗ ‌‌‌‌ ‍‍‍‍‌‌‌ ‍‍‍‍‍‌‌ ۚ‍‍‍ ‍‌ ‌‍‍
Laysa `Alaykum Junāĥun 'An Tabtaghū Fađlāan Min Rabbikum ۚ Fa'idhā 'Afađtum Min `Arafātindhkurū Allaha `Inda Al-Mash`ari Al-Ĥarāmi ۖ Wa Adhkurūhu Kamā Hadākum Wa 'In Kuntum Min Qablihi Lamina Ađ-Đāllīna You commit no error by seeking bounty from your Lord. When you disperse from Arafat, remember God at the Sacred Landmark. And remember Him as He has guided you. Although, before that, you were of those astray. 002-198 ‍‍‍ ‍‍‍ ‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‌ ‍‍‍‌ ‍‌ ‌‍ ۚ‌ ‌‍‍‍‍ ‍‌‍‍‌ ‌‌‍ ‍‌‍‍‍‌ ‍‍‌ ‍‌ ۖ‍‍‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌‌ ‍‌‍‍‍ ‍‌ ‍‍‍‍ ‍‍
Thumma 'Afīđū Min Ĥaythu 'Afāđa An-Nāsu Wa Astaghfirū Allaha ۚ 'Inna Allāha Ghafūrun Raĥīmun Then disperse from where the people disperse, and ask God for forgiveness. God is Most Forgiving, Most Merciful. 002-199 ‌‍‍‍‌ ‍‌‍‍‍ ‌‍‍‍ ‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌ۚ ‍‍‍‍‌ ‌‍
Fa'idhā Qađaytum Manāsikakumdhkurū Allaha Kadhikrikum 'Ābā'akum 'Aw 'Ashadda Dhikan ۗ Famina An-Nāsi Man Yaqūlu Rabbanā 'Ātinā Fī Ad-Dunyā Wa Mā Lahu Fī Al-'Ākhirati Min Khalāqin When you have completed your rites, remember God as you remember your parents, or even more. Among the people is he who says, “Our Lord, give us in this world,” yet he has no share in the Hereafter. 002-200 ‌‌‌ ‍‍‍ ‌‌‍ ‍ ‌‍‍‍‌ ‌‌‌ ‌‌ ‌‌‌ۗ ‍‍‍‍ ‍‌‍‍ ‌‍‌ ‌‌ ‍‌‍‌ ‌‌ ‍ ‍‍ ‍‌ ‍‍
Wa Minhum Man Yaqūlu Rabbanā 'Ātinā Fī Ad-Dunyā Ĥasanatan Wa Fī Al-'Ākhirati Ĥasanatan Wa Qinā `Adhāba An-Nāri And among them is he who says, “Our Lord, give us goodness in this world, and goodness in the Hereafter, and protect us from the torment of the Fire.” 002-201 ‍‌‍‍‍ ‍‌‍‍ ‌‍‌ ‌‌ ‍‌‍‌ ‌ ‌ ‍‍ ‌ ‌‍‍‌ ‍‍‌ ‍‍
'Ūlā'ika Lahum Naşībun Mimmā Kasabū Wa ۚ Allāhu Sarī`u Al-Ĥisābi These will have a share of what they have earned. God is swift in reckoning. 002-202 ‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌ ‍‍‍‍‌ ۚ‍‍‍
Wa Adhkurū Allaha Fī 'Ayyāmin Ma`dūdātin ۚ Faman Ta`ajjala Fī Yawmayni Falā 'Ithma `Alayhi Wa Man Ta'akhkhara Falā 'Ithma `Alayhi ۚ Limani Attaqá ۗ Wa Attaqū Allaha Wa A`lamū 'Annakum 'Ilayhi Tuĥsharūna And remember God during the designated days. But whoever hurries on in two days commits no wrong, and whoever stays on commits no wrong—provided he maintains righteousness. And obey God, and know that to Him you will be gathered. 002-203 ‌‌‌‍ ‍ ‌‍‍‍‌ ‌‌‍‍‌ۚ ‍‌‍‍‍ ‌ ‌ ‍‍‍‍ ‌‍‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‍‍‍ۚ ‍‍‍‌ ۗ‍‍‍ ‌‌ ‌‍ ‌‍‍‍‍ ‌
Wa Mina An-Nāsi Man Yu`jibuka Qawluhu Fī Al-Ĥayāati Ad-Dunyā Wa Yush/hidu Allāha `Alá Mā Fī Qalbihi Wa Huwa 'Aladdu Al-Khişāmi Among the people is he whose speech about the worldly life impresses you, and he calls God to witness what is in his heart, while he is the most hostile of adversaries. 002-204 ‍‍‍‍ ‍‌ ‍‍ ‍‍ ‍‌‍‌ ‌‌ ‍ ‌ ‌ ‍‍ ‌‌ ‌‌ ‍‍‍‍
Wa 'Idhā Tawallá Sa`á Fī Al-'Arđi Liyufsida Fīhā Wa Yuhlika Al-Ĥartha Wa An-Nasla Wa ۗ Allāhu Lā Yuĥibbu Al-Fasāda When he gains power, he strives to spread corruption on earth, destroying properties and lives. God does not like corruption. 002-205 ‌‌‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‍ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‍‍ۗ
Wa 'Idhā Qīla Lahu Attaqi Allāha 'Akhadhat/hu Al-`Izzatu Bil-'Ithmi ۚ Faĥasbuhu Jahannamu ۚ Wa Labi'sa Al-Mihādu And when he is told, “Beware of God,” his pride leads him to more sin. Hell is enough for him—a dreadful abode. 002-206 ‌‌‌‌ ‍‍ ‍ ‌‍ ۚ‍‍ۚ

Yā 'Ayyuhā Al-Ladhīna 'Āmanū Adkhulū Fī As-Silmi Kāffatan Wa Lā Tattabi`ū Khuţuwāti Ash-Shayţāni ۚ 'Innahu Lakum `Adūwun Mubīnun O you who believe! Enter into submission, wholeheartedly, and do not follow the footsteps of Satan; he is to you an outright enemy. 002-208 ‌ ‌‌ ‍‍‍‍ ‌‍‍ ‌ ‌‌ ‍‍‍‍‌ ‍‍‍‍ ۚ

Hal Yanžurūna 'Illā 'An Ya'tiyahumu Allāhu Fī Žulalin Mina Al-Ghamāmi Wa Al-Malā'ikatu Wa Quđiya Al-'Amru ۚ Wa 'Ilá Allāhi Turja`u Al-'Umūru Are they waiting for God Himself to come to them in the shadows of the clouds, together with the angels, and thus the matter is settled? Yas'alūnaka `Ani Ash-Shahri Al-Ĥarāmi Qitālin Fīhi ۖ Qul Qitālun Fīhi Kabīrun ۖ Wa Şaddun `An Sabīli Allāhi Wa Kufrun Bihi Wa Al-Masjidi Al-Ĥarāmi Wa 'Ikhrāju 'Ahlihi Minhu 'Akbaru `Inda Allāhi Wa ۚ Al-Fitnatu 'Akbaru Mina Al-Qatli ۗ Wa Lā Yazālūna Yuqātilūnakum Ĥattá Yaruddūkum `An Dīnikum 'Ini Astaţā`ū ۚ Wa Man Yartadid Minkum `An Dīnihi Fayamut Wa Huwa Kāfirun Fa'ūlā'ika Ĥabiţat 'A`māluhum Ad-Dunyā Wa Al-'Ākhirati ۖ Wa 'Ūlā'ika 'Aşĥābu An-Nāri ۖ Hum Fīhā Khālidūna They ask you about fighting during the Holy Month. Yas'alūnaka `Ani Al-Khamri Wa Al-Maysiri ۖ Qul Fīhimā 'Ithmun Kabīrun Wa Manāfi`u Lilnnāsi Wa 'Ithmuhumā 'Akbaru Min Naf`ihimā ۗ Wa Yas'alūnaka Mādhā Yunfiqūna Quli Al-`Afwa ۗ Kadhālika Yubayyinu Allāhu Lakumu Al-'Āyāti La`allakum Tatafakkarūna They ask you about intoxicants and gambling. Say, “There is gross sin in them, and some benefits for people, but their sinfulness outweighs their benefit.” And they ask you about what they should give: say, “The surplus.” Thus God explains the revelations to you, so that you may think. 002-219 ‍‍‍‍‍‍‌ ‌ۖ ‍ ‍‌ ‌‌‌ ‍‍‍‍‌ ‌ ‍‍‍‍‍ ‌‌‍‌ ‌‌ ‍‌ۗ ‌ ‌‌‌ ‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍ ۗ ‍‍
Ad-Dunyā Wa Al-'Ākhirati ۗ Wa Yas'alūnaka `Ani Al-Yatāmá ۖ Qul 'Işlāĥun Lahum Khayrun ۖ Wa 'In Tukhāliţūhum Fa'ikhwānukum Wa ۚ Allāhu Ya`lamu Al-Mufsida Mina Al-Muşliĥi ۚ Wa Law Shā'a Allāhu La'a`natakum ۚ 'Inna Allāha `Azīzun Ĥakīmun About this world and the next. And they ask you about orphans. Say, “Improvement for them is best. And if you intermix with them, then they are your brethren.” God knows the dishonest from the honest. Had God willed, He could have overburdened you. God is Mighty and Wise. 002-220 ‍‌‍‌ ‌‍‍ ۗۖ ‍ ‌ ‍‍ۖ ‌‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌ ۚ ‍‍ۚ ‌‌ ‍‍‍‌‌ ۚ ‍‍‍‍‌
Wa Lā Tankiĥū Al-Mushrikāti Ĥattá Yu'uminna ۚ Wa La'amatun Mu'uminatun Khayrun Min Mushrikatin Wa Law 'A`jabatkum ۗ Wa Lā Tunkiĥū Al-Mushrikīna Ĥattá Yu'uminū ۚ Wa La`abdun Mu'uminun Khayrun Min Mushrikin Wa Law 'A`jabakum ۗ 'Ūlā'ika Yad`ūna 'Ilá An-Nāri Wa ۖ Allāhu Yad`ū 'Ilá Al-Jannati Wa Al-Maghfirati Bi'idhnihi ۖ Wa Yubayyinu 'Āyātihi Lilnnāsi La`allahum Yatadhakkarūna Do not marry idolatresses, unless they have believed. A believing maid is better than an idolatress, even if you like her. And do not marry idolaters, unless they have believed. A believing servant is better than an idolater, even if you like him. These call to the Fire, but God calls to the Garden and to forgiveness, by His leave. He makes clear His communications to the people, that they may be mindful. 002-221 ‌ ‍‌‍‍‍‍ ‌ ‍ ۚ‍‍‌ ‍‌‌ ‌‌ ‌ ۗ ‌‌ ‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍ ‌ ۚ ‌‍‍‍‍‍‌ ‍‌‌ ‌‌ ‌ ۗ‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍ ‌‌ ‍‍‍‍‍‍‌ ۖ‌ ‌‌ ‍‍‍ ‌‍‍‍‍ ‌‍ ۖ ‌ ‌‍‍‍‍‍
Wa Yas'alūnaka `Ani Al-Maĥīđi ۖ Qul Huwa 'Adhan Fā`tazilū An-Nisā' Fī Al-Maĥīđi ۖ Wa Lā Taqrabūhunna Ĥattá Yaţhurna ۖ Fa'idhā Taţahharna Fa'tūhunna Min Ĥaythu 'Amarakumu Allāhu ۚ 'Inna Allāha Yuĥibbu At-Tawwābīna Wa Yuĥibbu Al-Mutaţahhirīna And they ask you about menstruation: say, “It is harmful, so keep away from women during menstruation. And do not approach them until they have become pure. Once they have become pure, approach them in the way God has directed you.” God loves the repentant, and He loves those who keep clean.” 002-222 ‍‍‍ ۖ ‍ ‌ ‌‌‌‌‍‍‍‍‌‌ ‍‍‍ ۖ ‌‌ ‍‍‍‍‍ ‌ ‍‍‍ۖ ‌‌‌ ‍‍‍‍ ‍ ‍‌‍‍‍ ‌‍ ۚ ‍‌‍‍‍‍‍ ‌ ‍‍‍‍
Nisā'uukum Ĥarthun Lakum Fa'tū Ĥarthakum 'Anná Shi'tum ۖ Wa Qaddimū Li'nfusikum ۚ Wa Attaqū Allaha Wa A`lamū 'Annakum Mulāqūhu ۗ Wa Bashshiri Al-Mu'uminīna Your women are cultivation for you; so approach your cultivation whenever you like, and send ahead for yourselves. And fear God, and know that you will meet Him. And give good news to the believers. 002-223 ‍‍ ‌ ‌‍‌ ۖ ‌‍‌ ‌ۚ‍‍‍ ‌‌ ‌‍ ‍ ۗ ‌‌
Wa Lā Taj`alū Allaha `Urđatan Li'ymānikum 'An Tabarrū Wa Tattaqū Wa Tuşliĥū Bayna An-Nāsi Wa ۗ Allāhu Samī`un `Alīmun And do not allow your oaths in God's name to hinder you from virtue, and righteousness, and making peace between people. God is Listener and Knower. 002-224 ‌ ‍‍‍‍ ‍ ‍ ‌‌‌ ‌‍‍‍‌ ‌‍‍‍‌ ‍‍‍‍‍‍‍ ۗ‍‍‍
Lā Yu'uākhidhukumu Allāhu Bil-Laghwi Fī 'Aymānikum Wa Lakin Yu'uākhidhukum Bimā Kasabat Qulūbukum Wa ۗ Allāhu Ghafūrun Ĥalīmun God does not hold you responsible for your unintentional oaths, but He holds you responsible for your intentions. God is Forgiving and Forbearing. 002-225 ‍‍‍ ‍‍‍‍‍‍‌ ‍ ‌ ‌‍‌ ‍‍‍ ‌ ۗ ‍‍‍‍‌‌
Lilladhīna Yu'ulūna Min Nisā'ihim Tarabbuşu 'Arba`ati 'Ash/hurin ۖ Fa'in Fā'ū Fa'inna Allāha Ghafūrun Raĥīmun Those who vow abstinence from their wives must wait for four months. But if they reconcile—God is Forgiving and Merciful. 002-226 ‍‍‍‍ ‍‍‍ ‍‌‍‍ ‌‌ ‌‌ۖ‍‍‍‍‌‌‌ ‍‍‍‍‌ ‌‍
Wa 'In `Azamū Aţ-Ţalāqa Fa'inna Allāha Samī`un `Alīmun And if they resolve to divorce—God is Hearing and Knowing. 002-227 ‌‌ ‍‍‍‍ ‍ ‍‍‍‍
Wa Al-Muţallaqātu Yatarabbaşna Bi'anfusihinna Thalāthata Qurū'in ۚ Wa Lā Yaĥillu Lahunna 'An Yaktumna Mā Khalaqa Allāhu Fī 'Arĥāmihinna 'In Kunna Yu'uminna Billāhi Wa Al-Yawmi Al-'Ākhiri ۚ Wa Bu`ūlatuhunna 'Aĥaqqu Biraddihinna Fī Dhālika 'In 'Adū 'Işlāĥāan ۚ Wa Lahunna Mithlu Al-Ladhī `Alayhinna Bil-Ma`rūfi ۚ Wa Lilrrijāli `Alayhinna Darajatun Wa ۗ Allāhu `Azīzun Ĥakīmun Divorced women shall wait by themselves for three periods. And it is not lawful for them to conceal what God has created in their wombs, if they believe in God and the Last Day. Meanwhile, their husbands have the better right to take them back, if they desire reconciliation. And women have rights similar to their obligations, according to what is fair. But men have a degree over them. God is Mighty and Wise. 002-228 ‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍ ‌‍‍ ‍‍‌ۚ ‌‌ ‍ ‌‌‍‍ ‍ ‍ ‌‌‍ ‌‌‍ ‌ ‍‍‍‌ ۚ ‌‍ ‌‍‌‍ ‌ ‌‌ ‌‌‍‌‌‌ ‌ۚ ‌‍ ‍‍‌ ۚ ‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍ ‌‌‍ۗ ‍‍‍‍‌
Aţ-Ţalāqu Marratāni ۖ Fa'imsākun Bima`rūfin 'Aw Tasrīĥun Bi'iĥsānin ۗ Wa Lā Yaĥillu Lakum 'An Ta'khudhū Mimmā 'Ātaytumūhunna Shay'āan 'Illā 'An Yakhāfā 'Allā Yuqīmā Ĥudūda Allāhi ۖ Fa'in Khiftum 'Allā Yuqīmā Ĥudūda Allāhi Falā Junāĥa `Alayhimā Fīmā Aftadat Bihi ۗ Tilka Ĥudūdu Allāhi Falā Ta`tadūhā ۚ Wa Man Yata`adda Ĥudūda Allāhi Fa'ūlā'ika Humu Až-Žālimūna Divorce is allowed twice. Fa'in Ţallaqahā Falā Taĥillu Lahu Min Ba`du Ĥattá Tankiĥa Zawjāan Ghayrahu ۗ Fa'in Ţallaqahā Falā Junāĥa `Alayhimā 'An Yataja`ā 'In Žannā 'An Yuqīmā Ĥudūda Allāhi ۗ Wa Tilka Ĥudūdu Allāhi Yubayyinuhā Liqawmin Ya`lamūna If he divorces her, she shall not be lawful for him again until she has married another husband. If the latter divorces her, then there is no blame on them for reuniting, provided they think they can maintain God's limits. Wa 'Idhā Ţallaqtumu An-Nisā' Fabalaghna 'Ajalahunna Fa'amsikūhunna Bima`rūfin 'Aw Sarriĥūhunna Bima`rūfin ۚ Wa Lā Tumsikūhunna Đirāan Lita`tadū ۚ Wa Man Yaf`al Dhālika Faqad Žalama Nafsahu ۚ Wa Lā Tattakhidhū 'Āyāti Allāhi Huzūan ۚ Wa Adhkurū Ni`mata Allāhi `Alaykum Wa Mā 'Anzala `Alaykum Mina Al-Kitābi Wa Al-Ĥikmati Ya`ižukum Bihi ۚ Wa Attaqū Allaha Wa A`lamū 'Anna Allāha Bikulli Shay'in `Alīmun When you divorce women, and they have reached their term, either retain them amicably, or release them amicably. But do not retain them to hurt them and commit aggression. Whoever does that has wronged himself. And do not take God’s revelations for a joke. And remember God's favor to you, and that He revealed to you the Scripture and Wisdom to teach you. And fear God, and know that God is aware of everything. Wa 'Idhā Ţallaqtumu An-Nisā' Fabalaghna 'Ajalahunna Falā Ta`đulūhunna 'An Yankiĥna 'Azwājahunna 'Idhā Tađaw Baynahum Bil-Ma`rūfi ۗ Dhālika Yū`ažu Bihi Man Kāna Minkum Yu'uminu Billāhi Wa Al-Yawmi Al-'Ākhiri ۗ Dhālikum 'Azká Lakum Wa 'Aţharu Wa ۗ Allāhu Ya`lamu Wa 'Antum Lā Ta`lamūna When you divorce women, and they have reached their term, do not prevent them from marrying their husbands, provided they agree on fair terms. Wa Al-Wālidātu Yurđi`na 'Awlādahunna Ĥawlayni Kāmilayni ۖ Liman 'Arāda 'An Yutimma Ar-Rađā`ata ۚ Wa `Alá Al-Mawlūdi Lahu Rizquhunna Wa Kiswatuhunna Bil-Ma`rūfi ۚ Lā Tukallafu Nafsun 'Illā Wus`ahā ۚ Lā Tuđārra Wa A-Datun Biwaladihā Wa Lā Mawlūdun Lahu Biwaladihi ۚ Wa `Alá Al-Wārithi Mithlu Dhālika ۗ Fa'in 'Adā Fişālāan `An Tađin Minhumā Wa Tashāwurin Falā Junāĥa `Alayhimā ۗ Wa 'In 'Aradtum 'An Tastarđi`ū 'Awlādakum Falā Junāĥa `Alaykum 'Idhā Sallamtum Mā 'Ātaytum Bil-Ma`rūfi ۗ Wa Attaqū Allaha Wa A`lamū 'Anna Allāha Bimā Ta`malūna Başīrun Mothers may nurse their infants for two whole years, for those who desire to complete the nursing-period. It is the duty of the father to provide for them and clothe them in a proper manner. No soul shall be burdened beyond its capacity. No mother shall be harmed on account of her child, and no father shall be harmed on account of his child. The same duty rests upon the heir. If the couple desire weaning, by mutual consent and consultation, they commit no error by doing so. You commit no error by hiring nursing-mothers, as long as you pay them fairly. Wa Al-Ladhīna Yutawaffawna Minkum Wa Yadharūna 'Azwājāan Yatarabbaşna Bi'anfusihinna 'Arba`ata 'Ash/hurin Wa `Ashan ۖ Fa'idhā Balaghna 'Ajalahunna Falā Junāĥa `Alaykum Fīmā Fa`alna Fī 'Anfusihinna Bil-Ma`rūfi Wa ۗ Allāhu Bimā Ta`malūna Khabīrun As for those among you who die and leave widows behind, their widows shall wait by themselves for four months and ten days. Wa Lā Junāĥa `Alaykum Fīmā `Arrađtum Bihi Min Khiţbati An-Nisā' 'Aw 'Aknantum Fī 'Anfusikum ۚ `Alima Allāhu 'Annakum Satadhkurūnahunna Wa Lakin Lā Tuwā`idūhunna Siran 'Illā 'An Taqūlū Qawlāan Ma`rūfāan ۚ Wa Lā Ta`zimū `Uqdata An-Nikāĥi Ĥattá Yablugha Al-Kitābu 'Ajalahu ۚ Wa A`lamū 'Anna Allāha Ya`lamu Mā Fī 'Anfusikum Fāĥdharūhu ۚ Wa A`lamū 'Anna Allāha Ghafūrun Ĥalīmun You commit no error by announcing your engagement to women, or by keeping it to yourselves. God knows that you will be thinking about them. But do not meet them secretly, unless you have something proper to say. And do not confirm the marriage tie until the writing is fulfilled. And know that God knows what is in your souls, so beware of Him. And know that God is Forgiving and Forbearing. 002-235 ‌ ‍‍‍ ‌ ‍‍‍‍ ‍ ‍‌ ‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‌ ‌‌‌ ‌‍‌‍‍‍ ‍ ‌‌ۚ ‍ ‌‍ ‌‍ ‌‍‌ ‌ ‌‌‍‍‍‌‌‌ ‌‌ ‌‌‍‍‌ ‌ۚ ‌‌ ‌ ‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍ ‌ ‍‍‍‍‍ ‍‍ ‌‍ ۚ‌ ‌ ‍ ‌ ‍ ‌‌‍ ‌‍‍‌ ۚ‌ ‌ ‍‍‍‍‌‌
Lā Junāĥa `Alaykum 'In Ţallaqtumu An-Nisā' Mā Lam Tamassūhunna 'Aw Tafriđū Lahunna Farīđatan ۚ Wa Matti`ūhunna `Alá Al-Mūsi`i Qadaruhu Wa `Alá Al-Muqtiri Qadaruhu Matā`āan Bil-Ma`rūfi ۖ Ĥaqqāan `Alá Al-Muĥsinīna You commit no error by divorcing women before having touched them, or before having set the dowry for them. Wa 'In Ţallaqtumūhunna Min Qabli 'An Tamassūhunna Wa Qad Farađtum Lahunna Farīđatan Fanişfu Mā Farađtum 'Illā 'An Ya`fūna 'Aw Ya`fuwa Al-Ladhī Biyadihi `Uqdatu An-Nikāĥi ۚ Wa 'An Ta`fū 'Aqrabu Lilttaqۚ Wa Lā Tansaw Al-Fađla Baynakum ۚ 'Inna Allāha Bimā Ta`malūna Başīrun If you divorce them before you have touched them, but after you had set the dowry for them, give them half of what you specified—unless they forego the right, or the one in whose hand is the marriage contract foregoes it. Ĥāfižū `Alá Aş-Şalawāti Wa Aş-Şalāati Al-Wusţá Wa Qūmū Lillāh Qānitīna Guard your prayers, and the middle prayer, and stand before God in devotion. 002-238 ‍‍‌ ‌ ‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‌ ‌‍
Fa'in Khiftum Farijālāan 'Aw Rukbānāan ۖ Fa'idhā 'Amintumdhkurū Allaha Kamā `Allamakum Mā Lam Takūnū Ta`lamūna But if you are in fear, then on foot, or riding. And when you are safe, remember God, as He taught you what you did not know. 002-239 ‍ ‍‌ ‌‌‌ ‌‌ۖ‌ ‌‍‌‍‍‍ ‌‌‍ ‌ ‌

Man Dhā Al-Ladhī Yuqriđu Allāha Qarđāan Ĥasanāan Fayuđā`ifahu Lahu~ 'Ađ`āfāan Kathīratan Wa ۚ Allāhu Yaqbiđu Wa Yabsuţu Wa 'Ilayhi Turja`ūna Who is he who will offer God a generous loan, so He will multiply it for him manifold? God receives and amplifies, and to Him you will be returned. 002-245 ‍‌ ‌‌‌ ‍‍ ‍‍‍‌ ‌‌ ‍‍‍‍‍ ~ ‌‍‍‌‌ ‍ ۚ‍‍‍‍ ‌‍‍‍‍‍ ‌‌‍‍‍
'Alam Tara 'Ilá Al-Mala'i Min Banī 'Isrā'īla Min Ba`di Mūsá 'Idh Qālū Linabīyin Lahum Ab`ath Lanā Malikāan Nuqātil Fī Sabīli Allāhi ۖ Qāla Hal `Asaytum 'In Kutiba `Alaykumu Al-Qitālu 'Allā Tuqātilū ۖ Qālū Wa Mā Lanā 'Allā Nuqātila Fī Sabīli Allāhi Wa Qad 'Ukhrijnā Min Diyārinā Wa 'Abnā'inā ۖ Falammā Kutiba `Alayhimu Al-Qitālu Tawallaw 'Illā Qalīlāan Minhum Wa ۗ Allāhu `Alīmun Biž-Žālimīna Have you not considered the notables of the Children of Israel after Moses? Wa Qāla Lahum Nabīyuhum 'Inna Allāha Qad Ba`atha Lakum Ţālūta Malikāan ۚ Qālū 'Anná Yakūnu Lahu Al-Mulku `Alaynā Wa Naĥnu 'Aĥaqqu Bil-Mulki Minhu Wa Lam Yu'uta Sa`atan Mina Al-Māli ۚ Qāla 'Inna Allāha Aşţafāhu `Alaykum Wa Zādahu Basţatan Al-`Ilmi Wa Al-Jismi Wa ۖ Allāhu Yu'utī Mulkahu Man Yashā'u Wa ۚ Allāhu Wāsi`un `Alīmun Their prophet said to them, “God has appointed Saul to be your king.” They said, “How can he have authority over us, when we are more worthy of authority than he, and he was not given plenty of wealth?” He said, “God has chosen him over you, and has increased him in knowledge and stature.” God bestows His sovereignty upon whomever He wills. God is Embracing and Knowing. 002-247 ‍‍‍‍ۚ ‍‍‌ ‌‍‌ ‍‍‍ ‌ ‌ ‌‍ ‍‌‍‍‍ ‌ ‍‍ ۚ ‍‍‍‍‍‍ ‌‌‌‌‍‍‍‌ ۖ ‍‌‍‍‌‌ ۚ ‌‌
Wa Qāla Lahum Nabīyuhum 'Inna 'Āyata Mulkihi~ 'An Ya'tiyakumu At-Tābūtu Fīhi Sakīnatun Min Rabbikum Wa Baqīyatun Mimmā Taraka 'Ālu Mūsá Wa 'Ālu Hārūna Taĥmiluhu Al-Malā'ikatu ۚ 'Inna Fī Dhālika La'āyatan Lakum 'In Kuntum Mu'uminīna And their prophet said to them, “The proof of his kingship is that the Ark will be restored to you, bringing tranquility from your Lord, and relics left by the family of Moses and the family of Aaron. Falammā Faşala Ţālūtu Bil-Junūdi Qāla 'Inna Allāha Mubtalīkum Binaharin Faman Shariba Minhu Falaysa Minnī Wa Man Lam Yaţ`amhu Fa'innahu Minnī 'Illā Mani Aghtarafa Ghurfatan Biyadihi ۚ Fasharibū Minhu 'Illā Qalīlāan Minhum ۚ Falammā Jāwazahu Huwa Wa Al-Ladhīna 'Āmanū Ma`ahu Qālū Lā Ţāqata Lanā Al-Yawma Bijālūta Wa Junūdihi ۚ Qāla Al-Ladhīna Yažunnūna 'Annahum Mulāqū Allahi Kam Min Fi'atin Qalīlatin Ghalabat Fi'atan Kathīratan Bi'idhni Allāhi Wa ۗ Allāhu Ma`a Aş-Şābirīna When Saul set out with the troops, he said, “God will be testing you with a river. Whoever drinks from it does not belong with me. But whoever does not drink from it, does belong with me, except for whoever scoops up a little with his hand.” But they drank from it, except for a few of them. Then, when he crossed it, he and those who believed with him, they said, “We have no strength to face Goliath and his troops today.” But those who knew that they would meet God said, “How many a small group has defeated a large group by God’s will. Wa Lammā Barazū Lijālūta Wa Junūdihi Qālū Rabbanā 'Afrigh `Alaynā Şaban Wa Thabbit 'Aqdāmanā Wa Anşurnā `Alá Al-Qawmi Al-Kāfirīna And when they confronted Goliath and his troops, they said, “Our Lord, pour down patience on us, and strengthen our foothold, and support us against the faithless people.” 002-250 ‍‍‍‌ ‍‌‌‌ ‍‍‍ ‌‌ ‌ ‌‍‌ ‌‍‍‍‍‌‌ ‌ ‌‍‍‍‌‌ ‌‍‍‍‍‍‌ ‌ ‍‍
Fahazamūhum Bi'idhni Allāhi Wa Qatala Dāwūdu Jālūta Wa 'Ātāhu Allāhu Al-Mulka Wa Al-Ĥikmata Wa `Allamahu Mimmā Yashā'u ۗ Wa Lawlā Daf`u Allāhi An-Nāsa Ba`đahum Biba`đin Lafasadati Al-'Arđu Wa Lakinna Allāha Dhū Fađlin `Alá Al-`Ālamīna And they defeated them by God’s leave, and David killed Goliath, and God gave him sovereignty and wisdom, and taught him as He willed. Were it not for God restraining the people, some by means of others, the earth would have gone to ruin. But God is gracious towards mankind. 002-251 ‍ ‌‍‍ ‌‌‌‍‍‌‌‌ ‍‍‍ ‌‌‍‍‍ ‌‍‍‍‍‌ ‍‍‍‌‌ ۗ ‌‌ ‌ ‍‍‍‍‍‍‍ ‍‍‍‌‍ ‌‍ ‍ ‌‌‌ ‍‍‍‍ ‌
Tilka 'Āyātu Allāhi Natlūhā `Alayka Bil-Ĥaqqi ۚ Wa 'Innaka Lamina Al-Mursalīna These are God’s revelations, which We recite to you in truth. You are one of the messengers. 002-252 ‌‍‍‍ ‍ ‌ ‍‍‍‍ ‍ ۚ ‌‌
Tilka Ar-Rusulu Fađđalnā Ba`đahum `Alá Ba`đin ۘ Minhum Man Kallama Allāhu ۖ Wa Rafa`a Ba`đahum Darajātin ۚ Wa 'Ātaynā `Īsá Abna Maryama Al-Bayyināti Wa 'Ayyadnāhu Birūĥi Al-Qudusi ۗ Wa Law Shā'a Allāhu Mā Aqtatala Al-Ladhīna Min Ba`dihim Min Ba`di Mā Jā'at/humu Al-Bayyinātu Wa Lakini Akhtalafū Faminhum Man 'Āmana Wa Minhum Man Kafara ۚ Wa Law Shā'a Allāhu Mā Aqtatalū Wa Lakinna Allāha Yaf`alu Mā Yurīdu These messengers: We gave some advantage over others. To some of them God spoke directly, and some He raised in rank. We gave Jesus son of Mary the clear miracles, and We strengthened him with the Holy Spirit. Had God willed, those who succeeded them would not have fought one another, after the clear signs had come to them; but they disputed; some of them believed, and some of them disbelieved. Yā 'Ayyuhā Al-Ladhīna 'Āmanū 'Anfiqū Mimmā Razaqnākum Min Qabli 'An Ya'tiya Yawmun Lā Bay`un Fīhi Wa Lā Khullatun Wa Lā Shafā`atun Wa ۗ Al-Kāfirūna Humu Až-Žālimūna O you who believe! Spend from what We have given you, before a Day comes in which there is neither trading, nor friendship, nor intercession. Al-Lahu Lā 'Ilāha 'Illā Huwa Al-Ĥayyu Al-Qayyūmu ۚ Lā Ta'khudhuhu Sinatun Wa Lā Nawmun ۚ Lahu Mā Fī As-Samāwāti Wa Mā Fī Al-'Arđi ۗ Man Dhā Al-Ladhī Yashfa`u `Indahu~ 'Illā Bi'idhnihi ۚ Ya`lamu Mā Bayna 'Aydīhim Wa Mā Khalfahum ۖ Wa Lā Yuĥīţūna Bishay'in Min `Ilmihi~ 'Illā Bimā Shā'a ۚ Wasi`a Kursīyuhu As-Samāwāti Wa Al-'Arđa ۖ Wa Lā Ya'ūduhu Ĥifžuhumā ۚ Wa Huwa Al-`Alīyu Al-`Ažīmu God! There is no god except He, the Living, the Everlasting. Neither slumber overtakes Him, nor sleep. To Him belongs everything in the heavens and everything on earth. Who is he that can intercede with Him except with His permission? He knows what is before them, and what is behind them; and they cannot grasp any of His knowledge, except as He wills. His Throne extends over the heavens and the earth, and their preservation does not burden Him. He is the Most High, the Great. Lā 'Ikrāha Fī Ad-Dīni ۖ Qad Tabayyana Ar-Rushdu Mina Al-Ghayyi ۚ Faman Yakfur Biţ-Ţāghūti Wa Yu'umin Billāhi Faqadi Astamsaka Bil-`Urwati Al-Wuthqá Lā Anfişāma Lahā Wa ۗ Allāhu Samī`un `Alīmun There shall be no compulsion in religion; the right way has become distinct from the wrong way. Whoever renounces evil and believes in God has grasped the most trustworthy handle; which does not break. God is Hearing and Knowing. 002-256 ‌ ‌‍‍‌ ‍‍‍ۖ ‍‌ ‍‍ۚ ‍‌ ‌ ‍‍‍ ‌‍‌‍ ‍‍‍‍‌ ‍‍‍‌ ‌ ‍‍‍‍ۗ‍‍‍
Al-Lahu Wa Līyu Al-Ladhīna 'Āmanū Yukhrijuhum Mina Až-Žulumāti 'Ilá An-Nūr Wa ۖ Al-Ladhīna Kafarū 'Awliyā'uuhumu Aţ-Ţāghūtu Yukhrijūnahum Mina An-Nūr 'Ilá Až-Žulumāti ۗ 'Ūlā'ika 'Aşĥābu An-Nāri ۖ Hum Fīhā Khālidūna God is the Lord of those who believe; He brings them out of darkness and into light. As for those who disbelieve, their lords are the evil ones; they bring them out of light and into darkness—these are the inmates of the Fire, in which they will abide forever. 002-257 ‍‍‍‍ ‌‌ ‍‍‍ ‍‍‍‍‍‍ ‌‌ ‍‍‍‌‌ ۖ‍‍‍‌ ‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍ ‍‍‍‌‌ ‌‌ ‍‍‍‍‍‍ ۗ‍‍‌‍‍‍ ‌‍‍‍‍‍ ‍‍‍‍‍‍‌ ۖ‍‌
'Alam Tara 'Ilá Al-Ladhī Ĥājja 'Ibhīma Fī Rabbihi~ 'An 'Ātāhu Allāhu Al-Mulka 'Idh Qāla 'Ibhīmu Rabbī Al-Ladhī Yuĥyī Wa Yumītu Qāla 'Anā 'Uĥyī Wa 'Umītu ۖ Qāla 'Ibhīmu Fa'inna Allāha Ya'tī Bish-Shamsi Mina Al-Mashriqi Fa'ti Bihā Mina Al-Maghribi Fabuhita Al-Ladhī Kafara Wa ۗ Allāhu Lā Yahdī Al-Qawma Až-Žālimīna Have you not considered him who argued with Abraham about his Lord, because God had given him sovereignty? Abraham said, “My Lord is He who gives life and causes death.” He said, “I give life and cause death.” Abraham said, “God brings the sun from the East, so bring it from the West,” so the blasphemer was confounded. God does not guide the wrongdoing people. 002-258 ‌ ‌‌ ‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍ ‌‍ ‌‌ ‌‍‍‍ ‌‌‌ ‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍ ‌‍ ‌‍‍‍‍ ‌‍‌ ‌ ‌‌‍‍‍‍ۖ ‍‍‌‍‍‍‍ ‍ ‍‍‍ ۗ‍‍ ‍‍
'Aw Kālladhī Marra `Alá Qaryatin Wa Hiya Khāwiyatun `Alá `Urūshihā Qāla 'Anná Yuĥyī Hadhihi Allāhu Ba`da Mawtihā ۖ Fa'amātahu Allāhu Miā'ata `Āmin Thumma Ba`athahu ۖ Qāla Kam Labithta ۖ Qāla Labithtu Yawmāan 'Aw Ba`đa Yawmin ۖ Qāla Bal Labithta Miā'ata `Āminnžur 'Ilá Ţa`āmika Wa Shabika Lam Yatasannah ۖ Wa Anžur 'Ilá Ĥimārika Wa Linaj`alaka 'Āyatan Lilnnāsi ۖ Wa Anžur 'Ilá Al-`Ižāmi Kayfa Nunshizuhā Thumma Naksūhā Laĥmāan ۚ Falammā Tabayyana Lahu Qāla 'A`lamu 'Anna Allāha `Alá Kulli Shay'in Qadīrun Or like him who passed by a town collapsed on its foundations. He said, “How can God revive this after its demise?” Thereupon God caused him to die for a hundred years, and then resurrected him. He said, “For how long have you tarried?” He said, “I have tarried for a day, or part of a day.” He said, “No. You have tarried for a hundred years. Now look at your food and your drink—it has not spoiled—and look at your donkey. We will make you a wonder for mankind. And look at the bones, how We arrange them, and then clothe them with flesh.” So when it became clear to him, he said, “I know that God has power over all things.” He said, “No. You have tarried for a hundred years. Wa 'Idh Qāla 'Ibhīmu Rabbi 'Arinī Kayfa Tuĥyī Al-Mawtá ۖ Qāla 'Awalam Tu'umin ۖ Qāla Balá Wa Lakin Liyaţma'inna Qalbī ۖ Qāla Fakhudh 'Arba`atan Mina Aţ-Ţayri Faşurhunna 'Ilayka Thumma Aj`al `Alá Kulli Jabalin Minhunna Juz'āan Thumma Ad`uhunna Ya'tīnaka Sa`yāan ۚ Wa A`lam 'Anna Allāha `Azīzun Ĥakīmun And when Abraham said, “My Lord, show me how You give life to the dead.” He said, “Have you not believed?” He said, “Yes, but to put my heart at ease.” He said, “Take four birds, and incline them to yourself, then place a part on each hill, then call to them; and they will come rushing to you. And know that God is Powerful and Wise.” 002-260 ‌‌‌ ‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍ ‌‍‍‍ۖ ‌‌ ‍‌ ۖ ‌ ‌‍‌‍‍‍‍ ۖ ‍‍‍‌ ‌‌ ‍‍‍‍‍‍‌ ‍‍‍‍‍ ‌‍‍‍‍ ‍ ‍ ‌ ‌ ‍‌‍‍‍‍ ‌‌‌‌ ‍ ۚ ‍‍‍‍‌
Mathalu Al-Ladhīna Yunfiqūna 'Amwālahum Fī Sabīli Allāhi Kamathali Ĥabbatin 'Anbatat Sab`a Sanābila Fī Kulli Sunbulatin Miā'atu Ĥabbatin Wa ۗ Allāhu Yuđā`ifu Liman Yashā'u Wa ۗ Allāhu Wāsi`un `Alīmun The parable of those who spend their wealth in God’s way is that of a grain that produces seven spikes; in each spike is a hundred grains. God multiplies for whom He wills. God is Bounteous and Knowing. 002-261 ‍‍‍‍ ‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍ ‌‌ ‍‍‍‍‍ ‌‌‍ ‍‍‍‍ ‍‌‍‍ۗ‍‍‍ ‍‌‍‍‌‌ ۗ ‌‌
Al-Ladhīna Yunfiqūna 'Amwālahum Fī Sabīli Allāhi Thumma Lā Yutbi`ūna Mā 'Anfaqū Mannāan Wa Lā 'Adhan ۙ Lahum 'Ajruhum `Inda Rabbihim Wa Lā Khawfun `Alayhim Wa Lā Hum Yaĥzanūna Those who spend their wealth in the way of God, and then do not follow up what they spent with reminders of their generosity or with insults, will have their reward with their Lord—they have nothing to fear, nor shall they grieve. 002-262 ‍‍‍‍ ‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍ ‌‌ ‍‍‍‍‍ ‍ ‌ ‍‍‍‌ ‌‌‍‍‍‍‌ ‍‍‍‌ ‌‌ ‌‌‌ۙ‍ ‍‌‍‍‍‌ ‌‍ ‌‌ ‌‌
Qawlun Ma`rūfun Wa Maghfiratun Khayrun Min Şadaqatin Yatba`uhā 'Adhan Wa ۗ Allāhu Ghanīyun Ĥalīmun Kind words and forgiveness are better than charity followed by insults. God is Rich and Clement. 002-263 ‍‍‌‌ ‌‍‍‍‍‍ ‍‍‌ ‍‌ ‍‍‌ ‍‌ ‌‌‌ۗ
Yā 'Ayyuhā Al-Ladhīna 'Āmanū Lā Tubţilū Şadaqātikum Bil-Manni Wa Al-'Adhá Kālladhī Yunfiqu Mālahu Ri'ā'a An-Nāsi Wa Lā Yu'uminu Billāhi Wa Al-Yawmi Al-'Ākhiri ۖ Famathaluhu Kamathali Şafwānin `Alayhi Turābun Fa'aşābahu Wa Abilun Fatarakahu Şaldāan ۖ Lā Yaqdirūna `Alá Shay'in Mimmā Kasabū Wa ۗ Allāhu Lā Yahdī Al-Qawma Al-Kāfirīna O you who believe! Do not nullify your charitable deeds with reminders and hurtful words, like him who spends his wealth to be seen by the people, and does not believe in God and the Last Day. His likeness is that of a smooth rock covered with soil: a downpour strikes it, and leaves it bare—they gain nothing from their efforts. God does not guide the disbelieving people. 002-264 ‌ ‌‌ ‍‍‍‍ ‌‌ ‌ ‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍ ‍‌‌‌ ‍‌‍‍‍‍ ‍‍‌‌ ‍‍‍‍ ‌‌ ‍‍ ‌ ‍‍‍‌ ۖ ‍‍‌‍‍‍ ‍‍‌‌ ‍‍‍‌ ‍ ‍‌ۖ ‌ ‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‌ ‌ ‍‌ ‍‍‍‍‌ ۗ‍‍
Wa Mathalu Al-Ladhīna Yunfiqūna 'Amwālahumu Abtighā'a Marđāati Allāhi Wa Tathbītāan Min 'Anfusihim Kamathali Jannatin Birabwatin 'Aşābahā Wa Abilun Fa'ātat 'Ukulahā Đi`fayni Fa'in Lam Yuşibhā Wa Abilun Faţallun Wa ۗ Allāhu Bimā Ta`malūna Başīrun And the parable of those who spend their wealth seeking God’s approval, and to strengthen their souls, is that of a garden on a hillside. If heavy rain falls on it, its produce is doubled; and if no heavy rain falls, then dew is enough. God is seeing of everything you do. 002-265 ‍‍‍‍ ‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍ ‌‌ ‍‍‍‍‌‌ ‍ ‍ ‌‌ ‍‌ ‌‌‍ ‍‍‍ ‌ ‍‍ ‌‍‍‌ ‌‌ ‌‌ ‍‍‍‍‍ ‌‍‍‍‍‍‌ ‌‌ ‍‍‍ۗ ‌ ‍‍‍‍‍
'Ayawaddu 'Aĥadukum 'An Takūna Lahu Jannatun Min Nakhīlin Wa 'A`nābin Tajrī Min Taĥtihā Al-'Anhāru Lahu Fīhā Min Kulli Ath-Thamarāti Wa 'Aşābahu Al-Kibaru Wa Lahu Dhurrīyatun Đu`afā'u Fa'aşābahā 'I`şārun Fīhi Nārun Fāĥtaraqat ۗ Kadhālika Yubayyinu Allāhu Lakumu Al-'Āyāti La`allakum Tatafakkarūna Would anyone of you like to have a garden of palms and vines, under which rivers flow—with all kinds of fruit in it for him, and old age has stricken him, and he has weak children—then a tornado with fire batters it, and it burns down? Thus God makes clear the signs for you, so that you may reflect. 002-266 ‌‌ ‌ ‌‌‍‍‍‍‌ ‍‌‍‍‍‍‌ ‌‌‍‍‍‌ ‍‍‍ ‍‌‍‍‍‍‌‌ ‍ ‌ ‍‌ ‍‍‍‌ ‌‌‍‌ ‌‍ ‌‌‌‍‍‍‍‌‌ ‍‍‍‌ ‌‍‍‍‌‌‌ ‍‍‍‍‍ ‍‍‍‌‌‌ ‍ۗ ‍‍
Yā 'Ayyuhā Al-Ladhīna 'Āmanū 'Anfiqū Min Ţayyibāti Mā Kasabtum Wa Mimmā 'Akhrajnā Lakum Mina Al-'Arđi ۖ Wa Lā Tayammamū Al-Khabītha Minhu Tunfiqūna Wa Lastum Bi'ākhidhīhi 'Illā 'An Tughmiđū Fīhi ۚ Wa A`lamū 'Anna Allāha Ghanīyun Ĥamīdun O you who believe! Give of the good things you have earned, and from what We have produced for you from the earth. And do not pick the inferior things to give away, when you yourselves would not accept it except with eyes closed. And know that God is Sufficient and Praiseworthy. 002-267 ‌ ‌‌ ‍‍‍‍ ‌‍‌ ‌‌‍‍‍‍‌ ‍‌ ‍‍‍‍ ‌ ‍‍‍‍ ‌‍‍‍‌ ‌‍‍‌ ‌‍ ۖ ‌‌ ‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍ ‍‌‍‍‍ ‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍ ‌ ‍‍‍‍‍‍‍ ‌‌ ‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍
