Al-Qāri`ahu | َ101-001 The Disastrous Rattling (of this life as seen in warfare is sure to visit the world). | الْقَارِعَةُ |
Mā Al-Qāri`ahu | َ101-002 How very terrible is the Disastrous Rattling! | مَا الْقَارِعَةُ |
Wa Mā 'Adrāka Mā Al-Qāri`ahu | َ101-003 What should make you know how very severe and destructive the Disastrous Rattling is! | وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا الْقَارِعَةُ |
Yawma Yakūnu An-Nāsu Kālfarāshi Al-Mabthūthi | َ101-004 On that day people shall be (in great confusion and distress) like moths scattered, | يَوْمَ يَكُونُ النَّاسُ كَالْفَرَاشِ الْمَبْثُوثِ |
Wa Takūnu Al-Jibālu Kāl`ihni Al-Manfūshi | َ101-005 And the mountains shall look like carded wool. | وَتَكُونُ الْجِبَالُ كَالْعِهْنِ الْمَنفُوشِ |
Fa'ammā Man Thaqulat Mawāzīnuhu | َ101-006 Now as for the person whose scales (of virtues) are heavy (and good deeds are preponderant), | فَأَمَّا مَنْ ثَقُلَتْ مَوَازِينُهُ |
Fahuwa Fī `Īshatin Rāđiyahin | َ101-007 He shall have a pleasant life. | فَهُوَ فِي عِيشَة ٍ رَاضِيَة ٍ |
Wa 'Ammā Man Khaffat Mawāzīnuhu | َ101-008 But as for the person whose scales (of good deeds) are light (and of no account), | وَأَمَّا مَنْ خَفَّتْ مَوَازِينُهُ |
Fa'ummuhu Hāwiyahun | َ101-009 The abyss (- Gehenna) shall then be a (nursing) mother to him (till the souls are completely cleansed of the taint of sin and they are reborn). | فَأُمُّه ُُ هَاوِيَة ٌ |
Wa Mā 'Adrāka Mā Hiyah | َ101-010 Ah! what should make you know what that (abyss) is! | وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا هِيَهْ |
Nārun Ĥāmiyahun | َ101-011 It is a blazing Fire (for burning out all the dross that people collect by leading a sinful life in this world). | نَارٌ حَامِيَة ٌ |
