Hal 'Atāka Ĥadīthu Al-Ghāshiyahi | َ088-001 There has reached you the news of the overwhelming event (- the Resurrection). | هَلْ أَتَاكَ حَدِيثُ الْغَاشِيَةِ |
Wujūhun Yawma'idhin Khāshi`ahun | َ088-002 Some persons shall be downcast and humble that day. | وُجُوه ٌ ٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ خَاشِعَة ٌ |
`Āmilatun Nāşibahun | َ088-003 Toil-worn and weary. | عَامِلَة ٌ نَاصِبَة ٌ |
Taşlá Nārāan Ĥāmiyahan | َ088-004 They shall enter a blazing Fire. | تَصْلَى نَاراً حَامِيَة ً |
Tusqá Min `Aynin 'Āniyahin | َ088-005 They shall be made to drink from a spring of boiling hot water; | تُسْقَى مِنْ عَيْن ٍ آنِيَة ٍ |
Laysa Lahum Ţa`āmun 'Illā Min Đarī`in | َ088-006 Dry, bitter and thorny herbage shall be their only food, | لَيْسَ لَهُمْ طَعَام ٌ إِلاَّ مِنْ ضَرِيع ٍ |
Lā Yusminu Wa Lā Yughnī Min Jū`in | َ088-007 Which neither nourishes nor satisfies hunger. | لاَ يُسْمِنُ وَلاَ يُغْنِي مِنْ جُوع ٍ |
Wujūhun Yawma'idhin Nā`imahun | َ088-008 On that day some (other) persons will be fresh and joyful, | وُجُوه ٌ ٌ يَوْمَئِذ ٍ نَاعِمَة ٌ |
Lisa`yihā Rāđiyahun | َ088-009 Well-satisfied with (the fruit of) their (pious) strivings. | لِسَعْيِهَا رَاضِيَة ٌ |
Fī Jannatin `Āliyahin | َ088-010 (They will live) in a sublime Garden, | فِي جَنَّةٍ عَالِيَة ٍ |
Lā Tasma`u Fīhā Lāghiyahan | َ088-011 Wherein you will hear no vain talk. | لاَ تَسْمَعُ فِيهَا لاَغِيَة ً |
Fīhā `Aynun Jāriyahun | َ088-012 It shall have a running spring, | فِيهَا عَيْن ٌ جَارِيَة ٌ |
Fīhā Sururun Marfū`ahun | َ088-013 It shall have thrones raised high, | فِيهَا سُرُر ٌ مَرْفُوعَة ٌ |
Wa 'Akwābun Mawđū`ahun | َ088-014 And goblets properly set, | وَأَكْوَاب ٌ مَوْضُوعَة ٌ |
Wa Namāriqu Maşfūfahun | َ088-015 And cushions (beautifully) ranged in rows, | وَنَمَارِقُ مَصْفُوفَة ٌ |
Wa Zarābīyu Mabthūthahun | َ088-016 And velvety carpets (tastefully) spread. | وَزَرَابِيُّ مَبْثُوثَة ٌ |
'Afalā Yanžurūna 'Ilá Al-'Ibili Kayfa Khuliqat | َ088-017 Do the people not then look at the clouds and the camels, how they are made, | أَفَلاَ يَنْظُرُونَ إِلَى الإِبِلِ كَيْفَ خُلِقَتْ |
Wa 'Ilá As-Samā'i Kayfa Rufi`at | َ088-018 And at the heaven, how it is raised high; | وَإِلَى السَّمَاءِ كَيْفَ رُفِعَتْ |
Wa 'Ilá Al-Jibāli Kayfa Nuşibat | َ088-019 And at the mountains, how they are set up; | وَإِلَى الْجِبَالِ كَيْفَ نُصِبَتْ |
Wa 'Ilá Al-'Arđi Kayfa Suţiĥat | َ088-020 And at the earth, how it is spread out? | وَإِلَى الأَرْضِ كَيْفَ سُطِحَتْ |
Fadhakkir 'Innamā 'Anta Mudhakkirun | َ088-021 Keep on admonishing (them even if they insist on shutting their eyes), so your duty is one of an admonisher. | فَذَكِّرْ إِنَّمَا أَنْتَ مُذَكِّر ٌ |
Lasta `Alayhim Bimusayţirin | َ088-022 You are not (appointed) a keeper, stern and hard, to (compel) them. | لَسْتَ عَلَيْهِمْ بِمُسَيْطِر ٍ |
'Illā Man Tawallá Wa Kafara | َ088-023 But as to him who turns away and disbelieves, | إِلاَّ مَنْ تَوَلَّى وَكَفَرَ |
Fayu`adhdhibuhu Al-Lahu Al-`Adhāba Al-'Akbara | َ088-024 Allâh shall punish him with the greatest punishment. | فَيُعَذِّبُهُ اللَّهُ الْعَذَابَ الأَكْبَرَ |
'Inna 'Ilaynā 'Īābahum | َ088-025 Verily, to Us is their ultimate return; | إِنَّ إِلَيْنَا إِيَابَهُمْ |
Thumma 'Inna `Alaynā Ĥisābahum | َ088-026 Then it is surely for Us to call them to account. | ثُمَّ إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا حِسَابَهُمْ |
