Sabbiĥi Asma Rabbika Al-'A`lá | َ087-001 Extol the holiness of the name of your Lord, the Most High. | سَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الأَعْلَى |
Al-Ladhī Khalaqa Fasawwá | َ087-002 Who creates (all things) and gives (them) suitable and perfect shapes. | الَّذِي خَلَقَ فَسَوَّى |
Wa Al-Ladhī Qaddara Fahadá | َ087-003 Who determines (the capacities and faculties) and furnishes them with (appropriate) guidance to achieve the final goal. | وَالَّذِي قَدَّرَ فَهَدَى |
Wa Al-Ladhī 'Akhraja Al-Mar`á | َ087-004 And Who brings forth the pasturage, | وَالَّذِي أَخْرَجَ الْمَرْعَى |
Faja`alahu Ghuthā'an 'Aĥwá | َ087-005 And then turns it into dried up rubbish, gray coloured. | فَجَعَلَه ُُ غُثَاءً أَحْوَى |
Sanuqri'uka Falā Tansá | َ087-006 We will soon teach (you and) make you recite (the Qur´ân) so that you shall not forget (any part of it). | سَنُقْرِئُكَ فَلاَ تَنسَى |
'Illā Mā Shā'a Al-Lahu ۚ 'Innahu Ya`lamu Al-Jahra Wa Mā Yakhfá | َ087-007 Except whatever (other things which) Allâh will (and which things you are apt to forget as a human being). Indeed He knows all that is manifest and all that is hidden. | إِلاَّ مَا شَاءَ اللَّهُ ۚ إِنَّه ُُ يَعْلَمُ الْجَهْرَ وَمَا يَخْفَى |
Wa Nuyassiruka Lilyusrá | َ087-008 And We shall provide you (every) facility and make things easy for you. | وَنُيَسِّرُكَ لِلْيُسْرَى |
Fadhakkir 'In Nafa`ati Adh-Dhikrá | َ087-009 Therefore keep on reminding (the people), surely reminding does good. | فَذَكِّرْ إِنْ نَفَعَتِ الذِّكْرَى |
Sayadhdhakkaru Man Yakhshá | َ087-010 He who stands in awe (of God) will heed, | سَيَذَّكَّرُ مَنْ يَخْشَى |
Wa Yatajannabuhā Al-'Ashqá | َ087-011 But the person steeped in wickedness goes on avoiding it. | وَيَتَجَنَّبُهَا الأَشْقَى |
Al-Ladhī Yaşlá An-Nāra Al-Kubrá | َ087-012 He who will enter the great Fire, | الَّذِي يَصْلَى النَّارَ الْكُبْرَى |
Thumma Lā Yamūtu Fīhā Wa Lā Yaĥyā | َ087-013 Then he shall neither die therein nor live. | ثُمَّ لاَ يَمُوتُ فِيهَا وَلاَ يَحْيَا |
Qad 'Aflaĥa Man Tazakká | َ087-014 Verily, that person who purifies himself truly will succeed (both in this life and in the Hereafter), | قَدْ أَفْلَحَ مَنْ تَزَكَّى |
Wa Dhakara Asma Rabbihi Faşallá | َ087-015 And remembers and extols the name of his Lord and offers Prayers. | وَذَكَرَ اسْمَ رَبِّه ِِ فَصَلَّى |
Bal Tu'uthirūna Al-Ĥayāata Ad-Dunyā | َ087-016 But the fact is that you people prefer the present life, | بَلْ تُؤْثِرُونَ الْحَيَاةَ الدُّنْيَا |
Wa Al-'Ākhiratu Khayrun Wa 'Abqá | َ087-017 Though the (the life in) the Hereafter is much better and more lasting. | وَالآخِرَةُ خَيْر ٌ وَأَبْقَى |
'Inna Hādhā Lafī Aş-Şuĥufi Al-'Ūlá | َ087-018 These (teachings) are so stated in the earlier Scriptures; | إِنَّ هَذَا لَفِي الصُّحُفِ الأُولَى |
Şuĥufi 'Ibrāhīma Wa Mūsá | َ087-019 The Scriptures of Abraham and Moses. | صُحُفِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَمُوسَى |
