'Idhā As-Samā'u Anshaqqat | َ084-001 When the sky bursts asunder, | إِذَا السَّمَاءُ انشَقَّتْ |
Wa 'Adhinat Lirabbihā Wa Ĥuqqat | َ084-002 And gives ear to (the command of) its Lord to obey, and it is fitly disposed (to do so), | وَأَذِنَتْ لِرَبِّهَا وَحُقَّتْ |
Wa 'Idhā Al-'Arđu Muddat | َ084-003 And when the earth is stretched out and receives fresh manure (for the spiritual and physical progress of its dwellers), | وَإِذَا الأَرْضُ مُدَّتْ |
Wa 'Alqat Mā Fīhā Wa Takhallat | َ084-004 And casts forth all that it has in it, and becomes (as if) empty, | وَأَلْقَتْ مَا فِيهَا وَتَخَلَّتْ |
Wa 'Adhinat Lirabbihā Wa Ĥuqqat | َ084-005 And gives ear to (the command of) its Lord to obey, and it is fittingly disposed (to do so). | وَأَذِنَتْ لِرَبِّهَا وَحُقَّتْ |
Yā 'Ayyuhā Al-'Insānu 'Innaka Kādiĥun 'Ilá Rabbika Kadĥāan Famulāqīhi | َ084-006 O Mankind! verily you are (by nature) toiling on towards your Lord a laborious toiling, then (through arduous service to Him) you shall surely meet Him. | يَاأَيُّهَا الإِنسَانُ إِنَّكَ كَادِح ٌ إِلَى رَبِّكَ كَدْحا ً فَمُلاَقِيهِ |
Fa'ammā Man 'Ūtiya Kitābahu Biyamīnihi | َ084-007 Then as for the person who is given his record (of deeds) in his right hand, | فَأَمَّا مَنْ أُوتِيَ كِتَابَه ُُ بِيَمِينِهِ |
Fasawfa Yuĥāsabu Ĥisābāan Yasīrāan | َ084-008 He shall soon be reckoned an easy reckoning, | فَسَوْفَ يُحَاسَبُ حِسَابا ً يَسِيرا ً |
Wa Yanqalibu 'Ilá 'Ahlihi Masrūrāan | َ084-009 And he will return to his people joyfully. | وَيَنقَلِبُ إِلَى أَهْلِه ِِ مَسْرُورا ً |
Wa 'Ammā Man 'Ūtiya Kitābahu Warā'a Žahrihi | َ084-010 But as for the one who will have his record (of deeds) given to him behind his back (as a sign that he had thrown the divine teachings behind his back), | وَأَمَّا مَنْ أُوتِيَ كِتَابَه ُُ وَرَاءَ ظَهْرِهِ |
Fasawfa Yad`ū Thubūrāan | َ084-011 He shall soon call (so to say) for complete destruction (to end his agonies). | فَسَوْفَ يَدْعُو ثُبُورا ً |
Wa Yaşlá Sa`īrāan | َ084-012 And he will enter into a blazing Fire. | وَيَصْلَى سَعِيرا ً |
'Innahu Kāna Fī 'Ahlihi Masrūrāan | َ084-013 Verily, (before this) he used to be joyful among his companions (and neglected the Hereafter). | إِنَّه ُُ كَانَ فِي أَهْلِه ِِ مَسْرُورا ً |
'Innahu Žanna 'An Lan Yaĥūra | َ084-014 He deemed that he would never return (to God). | إِنَّه ُُ ظَنَّ أَنْ لَنْ يَحُورَ |
Balá 'Inna Rabbahu Kāna Bihi Başīrāan | َ084-015 Yet he did (return to God to account for his deeds), surely his Lord was ever watchful of him. | بَلَى إِنَّ رَبَّه ُُ كَانَ بِه ِِ بَصِيرا ً |
Falā 'Uqsimu Bish-Shafaqi | َ084-016 Behold! I call to witness the twilight of sunset, | فَلاَ أُقْسِمُ بِالشَّفَقِ |
Wa Al-Layli Wa Mā Wasaqa | َ084-017 And the night and (all) that it envelopes, | وَاللَّيْلِ وَمَا وَسَقَ |
Wa Al-Qamari 'Idhā Attasaqa | َ084-018 And the moon when it become full, | وَالْقَمَرِ إِذَا اتَّسَقَ |
Latarkabunna Ţabaqāan `An Ţabaqin | َ084-019 That you shall invariably pass on from one stage to another. | لَتَرْكَبُنَّ طَبَقاً عَنْ طَبَق ٍ |
Famā Lahum Lā Yu'uminūna | َ084-020 So what is wrong with them that they do not believe? | فَمَا لَهُمْ لاَ يُؤْمِنُونَ |
Wa 'Idhā Quri'a `Alayhimu Al-Qur'ānu Lā Yasjudūna | َ084-021 And they do not bow in submission when the Qur´ân is recited to them? [Prostration] | وَإِذَا قُرِئَ عَلَيْهِمُ الْقُرْآنُ لاَ يَسْجُدُونَ |
Bali Al-Ladhīna Kafarū Yukadhdhibūna | َ084-022 On the contrary, these disbelievers cry lies (to the Qur´ân ). | بَلِ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا يُكَذِّبُونَ |
Wa Allāhu 'A`lamu Bimā Yū`ūna | َ084-023 And Allâh knows best all that they keep hidden (in their hearts). | وَاللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا يُوعُونَ |
Fabashshirhum Bi`adhābin 'Alīmin | َ084-024 So (do not bother about them, rather) give them the news of a woeful punishment. | فَبَشِّرْهُمْ بِعَذَابٍ أَلِيم ٍ |
'Illā Al-Ladhīna 'Āmanū Wa `Amilū Aş-Şāliĥāti Lahum 'Ajrun Ghayru Mamnūnin | َ084-025 Different, however, is the case of those who believe and do deeds of righteousness. There awaits them an unending reward. | إِلاَّ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ لَهُمْ أَجْرٌ غَيْرُ مَمْنُون ٍ |
