'Idhā As-Samā'u Anfaţarat | َ082-001 When the sky will be cleft asunder, | إِذَا السَّمَاءُ انفَطَرَتْ |
Wa 'Idhā Al-Kawākibu Antatharat | َ082-002 And when the planets will become dispersed, | وَإِذَا الْكَوَاكِبُ انتَثَرَتْ |
Wa 'Idhā Al-Biĥāru Fujjirat | َ082-003 And when the rivers are widely split up and made to flow forth (into canals), | وَإِذَا الْبِحَارُ فُجِّرَتْ |
Wa 'Idhā Al-Qubūru Bu`thirat | َ082-004 And when the graves will be laid open, | وَإِذَا الْقُبُورُ بُعْثِرَتْ |
`Alimat Nafsun Mā Qaddamat Wa 'Akhkharat | َ082-005 Every person shall know (then) what (evil) actions (which he should not have done) he has committed, and what (good actions he should have done) he has omitted. | عَلِمَتْ نَفْس ٌ مَا قَدَّمَتْ وَأَخَّرَتْ |
Yā 'Ayyuhā Al-'Insānu Mā Gharraka Birabbika Al-Karīmi | َ082-006 O (ungrateful) human being! what has enticed you away from your Lord, the Honoured One, | يَاأَيُّهَا الإِنسَانُ مَا غَرَّكَ بِرَبِّكَ الْكَرِيمِ |
Al-Ladhī Khalaqaka Fasawwāka Fa`adalaka | َ082-007 Who created you, then perfected you (with wisdom), then endowed you with great natural powers and faculties, | الَّذِي خَلَقَكَ فَسَوَّاكَ فَعَدَلَكَ |
Fī 'Ayyi Şūratin Mā Shā'a Rakkabaka | َ082-008 And He fashioned you in whatever form it pleased Him. | فِي أَيِّ صُورَة ٍ مَا شَاءَ رَكَّبَكَ |
Kallā Bal Tukadhdhibūna Bid-Dīni | َ082-009 Surely, (it is) not at all (as you think), the truth is that you treat the Requital as a lie. | كَلاَّ بَلْ تُكَذِّبُونَ بِالدِّينِ |
Wa 'Inna `Alaykum Laĥāfižīna | َ082-010 Verily, there are (appointed) guardians over you, | وَإِنَّ عَلَيْكُمْ لَحَافِظِينَ |
Kirāmāan Kātibīna | َ082-011 Noble (angel) recorders (of your commissions and omissions), | كِرَاما ً كَاتِبِينَ |
Ya`lamūna Mā Taf`alūna | َ082-012 Who know (all) that you do. | يَعْلَمُونَ مَا تَفْعَلُونَ |
'Inna Al-'Abrāra Lafī Na`īmin | َ082-013 The virtuous shall invariably be in (a state of) bliss. | إِنَّ الأَبْرَارَ لَفِي نَعِيم ٍ |
Wa 'Inna Al-Fujjāra Lafī Jaĥīmin | َ082-014 But the wicked shall, of course, be in the flaming Fire. | وَإِنَّ الْفُجَّارَ لَفِي جَحِيم ٍ |
Yaşlawnahā Yawma Ad-Dīni | َ082-015 They will enter therein on the Day of Requital, | يَصْلَوْنَهَا يَوْمَ الدِّينِ |
Wa Mā Hum `Anhā Bighā'ibīna | َ082-016 And they shall not at all (be able to) keep themselves away (by escaping) from it. | وَمَا هُمْ عَنْهَا بِغَائِبِينَ |
Wa Mā 'Adrāka Mā Yawmu Ad-Dīni | َ082-017 What should make you know what the Day of Requital is! | وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا يَوْمُ الدِّينِ |
Thumma Mā 'Adrāka Mā Yawmu Ad-Dīni | َ082-018 Again (We repeat) how can you know what the Day of Requital is! | ثُمَّ مَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا يَوْمُ الدِّينِ |
Yawma Lā Tamliku Nafsun Linafsin Shay'āan Wa ۖ Al-'Amru Yawma'idhin Lillahi | َ082-019 (It is) the day when no person shall be able to do anything for another! On that day the (absolute) Judgment of every sort shall entirely belong to Allâh. | يَوْمَ لاَ تَمْلِكُ نَفْس ٌ لِنَفْس ٍ شَيْئا ً ۖ وَالأَمْرُ يَوْمَئِذ ٍ لِلَّهِ |
