| Yā -Sīn | َ036-001 Yâ Sîn. | يَا-سِين |
| Wa Al-Qur'āni Al-Ĥakīmi | َ036-002 I call to witness the perfect Qur´ân full of (convincing proofs and) wisdom. | وَالْقُرْآنِ الْحَكِيمِ |
| 'Innaka Lamina Al-Mursalīna | َ036-003 (That) you are indeed one of the Messengers, | إِنَّكَ لَمِنَ الْمُرْسَلِينَ |
| `Alá Şirāţin Mustaqīmin | َ036-004 (Standing) on the right and straight path. | عَلَى صِرَاط ٍ مُسْتَقِيم ٍ |
| Tanzīla Al-`Azīzi Ar-Raĥīmi | َ036-005 (This Qur´ân is) a great revelation sent by the All-Mighty (and) the Ever Merciful (God), | تَنزِيلَ الْعَزِيزِ الرَّحِيمِ |
| Litundhira Qawmāan Mā 'Undhira 'Ābā'uuhum Fahum Ghāfilūna | َ036-006 So that you may warn the people who are ignorant because their forefathers have not been warned (for a long time). | لِتُنذِرَ قَوْما ً مَا أُنذِرَ آبَاؤُهُمْ فَهُمْ غَافِلُونَ |
| Laqad Ĥaqqa Al-Qawlu `Alá 'Aktharihim Fahum Lā Yu'uminūna | َ036-007 Surely, most of them merit the sentence of Our punishment for they would not believe. | لَقَدْ حَقَّ الْقَوْلُ عَلَى أَكْثَرِهِمْ فَهُمْ لاَ يُؤْمِنُونَ |
| 'Innā Ja`alnā Fī 'A`nāqihim 'Aghlālāan Fahiya 'Ilá Al-'Adhqāni Fahum Muqmaĥūna | َ036-008 Surely, We have put shackles (of customs and prejudices) round their necks and they are (reaching right) up to their chins, so that they have become stiff-necked (due to their pride and false notions of superiority). | إِنَّا جَعَلْنَا فِي أَعْنَاقِهِمْ أَغْلاَلا ً فَهِيَ إِلَى الأَذْقَانِ فَهُمْ مُقْمَحُونَ |
| Wa Ja`alnā Min Bayni 'Aydīhim Saddāan Wa Min Khalfihim Saddāan Fa'aghshaynāhum Fahum Lā Yubşirūna | َ036-009 And We have placed barriers (of their stubbornness rendering them unable to look forward to the bright future of Islam and rise to eminence by accepting it) in front of them, and barriers (of their prejudices) behind them (thus rendering them unable to look back at the doom of those who rejected the truth in the past). Thus We have kept them behind the veil so that they cannot see (so have become totally devoid of spiritual light). | وَجَعَلْنَا مِنْ بَيْنِ أَيْدِيهِمْ سَدّا ً وَمِنْ خَلْفِهِمْ سَدّا ً فَأَغْشَيْنَاهُمْ فَهُمْ لاَ يُبْصِرُونَ |
| Wa Sawā'un `Alayhim 'A'andhartahum 'Am Lam Tundhirhum Lā Yu'uminūna | َ036-010 And it is all the same to them whether you warn them or do not warn them, they will not believe (for they have deliberately shut their eyes and ears to the truth). | وَسَوَاءٌ عَلَيْهِمْ أَأَنذَرْتَهُمْ أَمْ لَمْ تُنذِرْهُمْ لاَ يُؤْمِنُونَ |
| 'Innamā Tundhiru Mani Attaba`a Adh-Dhikra Wa Khashiya Ar-Raĥmana Bil-Ghaybi ۖ Fabashshirhu Bimaghfiratin Wa 'Ajrin Karīmin | َ036-011 You can warn only those who would follow the Reminder (- the Qur´ân) and are full of reverential awe of the Most Gracious (God) in the heart of their hearts. Therefore proclaim to them the glad tidings of protection (from the evil consequences of sins) and an honorable provision (from Us). | إِنَّمَا تُنذِرُ مَنِ اتَّبَعَ الذِّكْرَ وَخَشِيَ الرَّحْمَنَ بِالْغَيْبِ ۖ فَبَشِّرْهُ بِمَغْفِرَة ٍ وَأَجْر ٍ كَرِيم ٍ |
| 'Innā Naĥnu Nuĥyi Al-Mawtá Wa Naktubu Mā Qaddamū Wa 'Āthārahum ۚ Wa Kulla Shay'in 'Ĥşaynāhu Fī 'Imāmin Mubīnin | َ036-012 Surely, it is We alone Who raise the dead to life. And We shall preserve (their noble deeds) which they send forward and their prints (of virtue and knowledge which they leave behind for others to emulate). Every thing We have comprehensively preserved in a clear record. | إِنَّا نَحْنُ نُحْيِ الْمَوْتَى وَنَكْتُبُ مَا قَدَّمُوا وَآثَارَهُمْ ۚ وَكُلَّ شَيْءٍ أحْصَيْنَاه ُُ فِي إِمَام ٍ مُبِين ٍ |
| Wa Ađrib Lahum Mathalāan 'Aşĥāba Al-Qaryati 'Idh Jā'ahā Al-Mursalūna | َ036-013 And set forth to them for their good a parable of a people of the town when the Messengers (of God) came to them. | وَاضْرِبْ لَهُمْ مَثَلاً أَصْحَابَ الْقَرْيَةِ إِذْ جَاءَهَا الْمُرْسَلُونَ |
| 'Idh 'Arsalnā 'Ilayhimu Athnayni Fakadhdhabūhumā Fa`azzaznā Bithālithin Faqālū 'Innā 'Ilaykum Mursalūna | َ036-014 (At first) We sent to them two (Messengers, Moses and Jesus) but they cried lies to them. Then We strengthened (Our Apostles) with a third (- the Prophet Muhammad by fulfilling in his person their prophecies about his advent). So they said, (as a general Message to the people), `We have been sent to you (as Messengers by God).´ | إِذْ أَرْسَلْنَا إِلَيْهِمُ اثْنَيْنِ فَكَذَّبُوهُمَا فَعَزَّزْنَا بِثَالِث ٍ فَقَالُوا إِنَّا إِلَيْكُمْ مُرْسَلُونَ |
| Qālū Mā 'Antum 'Illā Basharun Mithlunā Wa Mā 'Anzala Ar-Raĥmānu Min Shay'in 'In 'Antum 'Illā Takdhibūna | َ036-015 They (- the contemporaries of the Messengers) gave (a general) reply, `You are only human beings like ourselves. The Most Gracious (God) has revealed nothing (to you). You are simply telling lies.´ | قَالُوا مَا أَنْتُمْ إِلاَّ بَشَر ٌ مِثْلُنَا وَمَا أَنزَلَ الرَّحْمَنُ مِنْ شَيْء ٍ إِنْ أَنْتُمْ إِلاَّ تَكْذِبُونَ |
| Qālū Rabbunā Ya`lamu 'Innā 'Ilaykum Lamursalūna | َ036-016 They said, `Our Lord knows that we have been, of course, sent to you, | قَالُوا رَبُّنَا يَعْلَمُ إِنَّا إِلَيْكُمْ لَمُرْسَلُونَ |
| Wa Mā `Alaynā 'Illā Al-Balāghu Al-Mubīnu | َ036-017 `And our duty is only to convey (the Message) in clear terms.´ | وَمَا عَلَيْنَا إِلاَّ الْبَلاَغُ الْمُبِينُ |
| Qālū 'Innā Taţayyarnā Bikum ۖ La'in Lam Tantahū Lanarjumannakum Wa Layamassannakum Minnā `Adhābun 'Alīmun | َ036-018 They (- the people of the town) said, `We augur ill from you (for we are always seize with one calamity or the other after your advent). If you do not give it (- your preaching) over we will certainly excommunicate you and a painful punishment shall befall you at our hands.´ | قَالُوا إِنَّا تَطَيَّرْنَا بِكُمْ ۖ لَئِنْ لَمْ تَنتَهُوا لَنَرْجُمَنَّكُمْ وَلَيَمَسَّنَّكُمْ مِنَّا عَذَابٌ أَلِيم ٌ |
| Qālū Ţā'irukum Ma`akum ۚ 'A'in Dhukkirtum ۚ Bal 'Antum Qawmun Musrifūna | َ036-019 They said, `Your ills are of your own making. (Do you say all this) because you have been admonished? Nay, but the real thing is you are a pack of transgressors.´ | قَالُوا طَائِرُكُمْ مَعَكُمْ ۚ أَئِنْ ذُكِّرْتُمْ ۚ بَلْ أَنْتُمْ قَوْم ٌ مُسْرِفُونَ |
| Wa Jā'a Min 'Aqşá Al-Madīnati Rajulun Yas`á Qāla Yā Qawmi Attabi`ū Al-Mursalīna | َ036-020 Now, there came a man running from the farthest end of the town. He said, `O my people! follow the Messengers. | وَجَاءَ مِنْ أَقْصَى الْمَدِينَةِ رَجُل ٌ يَسْعَى قَالَ يَاقَوْمِ اتَّبِعُوا الْمُرْسَلِينَ |
| Attabi`ū Man Lā Yas'alukum 'Ajrāan Wa Hum Muhtadūna | َ036-021 `Follow those who ask no reward from you and who are following the right path. | اتَّبِعُوا مَنْ لاَ يَسْأَلُكُمْ أَجْرا ً وَهُمْ مُهْتَدُونَ |
| Wa Mā Liya Lā 'A`budu Al-Ladhī Faţaranī Wa 'Ilayhi Turja`ūna | َ036-022 `What reason have I not to worship Him Who has created me, and to Whom you all shall be brought back? | وَمَا لِيَ لاَ أَعْبُدُ الَّذِي فَطَرَنِي وَإِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُونَ |
| 'A'attakhidhu Min Dūnihi 'Ālihatan 'In Yuridni Ar-Raĥmānu Biđurrin Lā Tughni `Annī Shafā`atuhum Shay'āan Wa Lā Yunqidhūni | َ036-023 `Shall I take apart from Him others as gods whose intercession, if the Most Gracious (God) should decide to do me some harm, will be of no avail to me, nor will they be able (even) to rescue me (from that harm)? | أَأَتَّخِذُ مِنْ دُونِهِ آلِهَة ً إِنْ يُرِدْنِ الرَّحْمَنُ بِضُرّ ٍ لاَ تُغْنِ عَنِّي شَفَاعَتُهُمْ شَيْئا ً وَلاَ يُنقِذُونِ |
| 'Innī 'Idhāan Lafī Đalālin Mubīnin | َ036-024 `Surely, in case (I do anything of the kind) I should be (falling) in (to) a clear error. | إِنِّي إِذا ً لَفِي ضَلاَل ٍ مُبِين ٍ |
| 'Innī 'Āmantu Birabbikum Fāsma`ūni | َ036-025 `I have believed in your (true) Lord, therefore listen to me.´ | إِنِّي آمَنْتُ بِرَبِّكُمْ فَاسْمَعُونِ |
| Qīla Adkhuli Al-Jannata ۖ Qāla Yā Layta Qawmī Ya`lamūna | َ036-026 It was said (to him by God), `Enter Paradise (while you are still living).´ He said, `O, would that my people knew, | قِيلَ ادْخُلِ الْجَنَّةَ ۖ قَالَ يَالَيْتَ قَوْمِي يَعْلَمُونَ |
| Bimā Ghafara Lī Rabbī Wa Ja`alanī Mina Al-Mukramīna | َ036-027 `For what reason has my Lord granted me protection (from pitfalls in this life) and included me among the honoured (servants of His)!´ | بِمَا غَفَرَ لِي رَبِّي وَجَعَلَنِي مِنَ الْمُكْرَمِينَ |
| Wa Mā 'Anzalnā `Alá Qawmihi Min Ba`dihi Min Jundin Mina As-Samā'i Wa Mā Kunnā Munzilīna | َ036-028 We sent no contingent (of force) from heaven, against his people (to destroy them), after that (he has believed) nor do We ever command (any of such things). | وَمَا أَنزَلْنَا عَلَى قَوْمِه ِِ مِنْ بَعْدِه ِِ مِنْ جُند ٍ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ وَمَا كُنَّا مُنزِلِينَ |
| 'In Kānat 'Illā Şayĥatan Wāĥidatan Fa'idhā Hum Khāmidūna | َ036-029 It was just a single blast and behold! they were all (extinct) like a (spark of) fire extinguished. | إِنْ كَانَتْ إِلاَّ صَيْحَة ً وَاحِدَة ً فَإِذَا هُمْ خَامِدُونَ |
| Yā Ĥasratan `Alá Al-`Ibādi ۚ Mā Ya'tīhim Min Rasūlin 'Illā Kānū Bihi Yastahzi'ūn | َ036-030 Alas for (My) servants! not a single Messenger comes to (reform) them but they treat him lightly. | يَاحَسْرَةً عَلَى الْعِبَادِ مَا ۚ يَأْتِيهِمْ مِنْ رَسُول ٍ إِلاَّ كَانُوا بِه ِِ يَسْتَهْزِئُون |
| 'Alam Yaraw Kam 'Ahlaknā Qablahum Mina Al-Qurūni 'Annahum 'Ilayhim Lā Yarji`ūna | َ036-031 Have they not seen how many generations We have ruined before them, and that those (generations) never come back to them (after their ruination)? | أَلَمْ يَرَوْا كَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا قَبْلَهُمْ مِنَ الْقُرُونِ أَنَّهُمْ إِلَيْهِمْ لاَ يَرْجِعُونَ |
| Wa 'In Kullun Lammā Jamī`un Ladaynā Muĥđarūna | َ036-032 Indeed, they, one and all, shall most certainly, be brought before Us. | وَإِنْ كُلّ ٌ لَمَّا جَمِيع ٌ لَدَيْنَا مُحْضَرُونَ |
| Wa 'Āyatun Lahumu Al-'Arđu Al-Maytatu 'Aĥyaynāhā Wa 'Akhrajnā Minhā Ĥabbāan Faminhu Ya'kulūna | َ036-033 The dead earth which We bring to life and from which We bring forth (a large variety of) grains, of which they eat, is an important sign for them. | وَآيَة ٌ لَهُمُ الأَرْضُ الْمَيْتَةُ أَحْيَيْنَاهَا وَأَخْرَجْنَا مِنْهَا حَبّا ً فَمِنْهُ يَأْكُلُونَ |
| Wa Ja`alnā Fīhā Jannātin Min Nakhīlin Wa 'A`nābin Wa Fajjarnā Fīhā Mina Al-`Uyūni | َ036-034 And We have made to grow there on (the earth) gardens of date-palms and vine, and We have caused springs to gush forth from it; | وَجَعَلْنَا فِيهَا جَنَّات ٍ مِنْ نَخِيل ٍ وَأَعْنَاب ٍ وَفَجَّرْنَا فِيهَا مِنَ الْعُيُونِ |
| Liya'kulū Min Thamarihi Wa Mā `Amilat/hu 'Aydīhim ۖ 'Afalā Yashkurūna | َ036-035 So that they may enjoy its fruit and (enjoy) that which their hands have worked for. Will they then render (Us) no thanks (and follow Our guidance)? | لِيَأْكُلُوا مِنْ ثَمَرِه ِِ وَمَا عَمِلَتْهُ أَيْدِيهِمْ ۖ أَفَلاَ يَشْكُرُونَ |
| Subĥāna Al-Ladhī Khalaqa Al-'Azwāja Kullahā Mimmā Tunbitu Al-'Arđu Wa Min 'Anfusihim Wa Mimmā Lā Ya`lamūna | َ036-036 Glory be to Him Who has created pairs of all type of the thing that the earth grows and of their own species and of the things yet unknown to them. | سُبْحَانَ الَّذِي خَلَقَ الأَزْوَاجَ كُلَّهَا مِمَّا تُنْبِتُ الأَرْضُ وَمِنْ أَنفُسِهِمْ وَمِمَّا لاَ يَعْلَمُونَ |
| Wa 'Āyatun Lahumu Al-Laylu Naslakhu Minhu An-Nahāra Fa'idhā Hum Mužlimūna | َ036-037 The night from which We strip off (the last vestige) of the day, so that (afterwards) they are left in pitch darkness, is a (great) sign for them. | وَآيَة ٌ لَهُمُ اللَّيْلُ نَسْلَخُ مِنْهُ النَّهَارَ فَإِذَا هُمْ مُظْلِمُونَ |
| Wa Ash-Shamsu Tajrī Limustaqarrin ۚ Lahā Dhālika Taqdīru Al-`Azīzi Al-`Alīmi | َ036-038 And the sun is moving (on its ordained course) towards the goal determined for it. That is the determining of the All-Mighty, the Possessor of perfect knowledge. | وَالشَّمْسُ تَجْرِي لِمُسْتَقَرّ ٍ لَهَا ۚ ذَلِكَ تَقْدِيرُ الْعَزِيزِ الْعَلِيمِ |
| Wa Al-Qamara Qaddarnāhu Manāzila Ĥattá `Āda Kāl`urjūni Al-Qadīmi | َ036-039 And (think over the phase of) the moon, We have determined its various mansions, so that (after traversing these mansions) it returns (to the stage when it appears) like an old dry twig of a palm-tree. | وَالْقَمَرَ قَدَّرْنَاه ُُ مَنَازِلَ حَتَّى عَادَ كَالْعُرْجُونِ الْقَدِيمِ |
| Lā Ash-Shamsu Yanbaghī Lahā 'An Tudrika Al-Qamara Wa Lā Al-Laylu Sābiqu An-Nahāri ۚ Wa Kullun Fī Falakin Yasbaĥūna | َ036-040 It is not given to the sun to attain to (the purpose ordained for) the moon, nor is it given to the night to outstrip the day. All of these (luminaries) go on floating smoothly in an orbit (of their own). | لاَ الشَّمْسُ يَنْبَغِي لَهَا أَنْ تُدْرِكَ الْقَمَرَ وَلاَ اللَّيْلُ سَابِقُ النَّهَارِ ۚ وَكُلّ ٌ فِي فَلَك ٍ يَسْبَحُونَ |
| Wa 'Āyatun Lahum 'Annā Ĥamalnā Dhurrīyatahum Fī Al-Fulki Al-Mashĥūni | َ036-041 And it is a sign for these people that We carry their children in the fully laden ships. | وَآيَة ٌ لَهُمْ أَنَّا حَمَلْنَا ذُرِّيَّتَهُمْ فِي الْفُلْكِ الْمَشْحُونِ |
| Wa Khalaqnā Lahum Min Mithlihi Mā Yarkabūna | َ036-042 And We will make for them other (means of transport) such things as they will board. | وَخَلَقْنَا لَهُمْ مِنْ مِثْلِه ِِ مَا يَرْكَبُونَ |
| Wa 'In Nasha' Nughriqhum Falā Şarīkha Lahum Wa Lā Hum Yunqadhūna | َ036-043 If We (so) willed, We would drown them, then they would have no (one to) succour (them), nor would they be rescued. | وَإِنْ نَشَأْ نُغْرِقْهُمْ فَلاَ صَرِيخَ لَهُمْ وَلاَ هُمْ يُنقَذُونَ |
| 'Illā Raĥmatan Minnā Wa Matā`āan 'Ilá Ĥīnin | َ036-044 It is only through mercy from Us (that We save them) and (let them have) an enjoyment of worldly gains for a while. | إِلاَّ رَحْمَة ً مِنَّا وَمَتَاعا ً إِلَى حِين ٍ |
| Wa 'Idhā Qīla Lahumu Attaqū Mā Bayna 'Aydīkum Wa Mā Khalfakum La`allakum Turĥamūna | َ036-045 And when it is said to them, `Guard yourself against that (punishment) which is (impending) before you and that which is behind you (and may befall you as a consequence of your evil past) so that you may be shown mercy (they turn away).´ | وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمُ اتَّقُوا مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِيكُمْ وَمَا خَلْفَكُمْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُرْحَمُونَ |
| Wa Mā Ta'tīhim Min 'Āyatin Min 'Āyāti Rabbihim 'Illā Kānū `Anhā Mu`riđīna | َ036-046 There never comes to them a Message from the Messages of their Lord but they always turn away from it. | وَمَا تَأْتِيهِمْ مِنْ آيَة ٍ مِنْ آيَاتِ رَبِّهِمْ إِلاَّ كَانُوا عَنْهَا مُعْرِضِينَ |
| Wa 'Idhā Qīla Lahum 'Anfiqū Mimmā Razaqakumu Al-Lahu Qāla Al-Ladhīna Kafarū Lilladhīna 'Āmanū 'Anuţ`imu Man Law Yashā'u Al-Lahu 'Aţ`amahu 'In 'Antum 'Illā Fī Đalālin Mubīnin | َ036-047 And when it is said to them, `Spend out of that which Allâh has provided for you,´ those who disbelieve say to those who believe, `Shall we feed those whom, if Allâh so will, He could feed? You are only steeped in obvious error.´ | وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمْ أَنفِقُوا مِمَّا رَزَقَكُمُ اللَّهُ قَالَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا لِلَّذِينَ آمَنُوا أَنُطْعِمُ مَنْ لَوْ يَشَاءُ اللَّهُ أَطْعَمَهُ~ُ إِنْ أَنْتُمْ إِلاَّ فِي ضَلاَل ٍ مُبِين ٍ |
| Wa Yaqūlūna Matá Hādhā Al-Wa`du 'In Kuntum Şādiqīna | َ036-048 They (also) say, `(Tell us) if indeed you are truthful when this warning (about punishment) shall come to pass.´ | وَيَقُولُونَ مَتَى هَذَا الْوَعْدُ إِنْ كُنتُمْ صَادِقِينَ |
| Mā Yanžurūna 'Illā Şayĥatan Wāĥidatan Ta'khudhuhum Wa Hum Yakhişşimūna | َ036-049 They are (thus) only waiting for one sudden onslaught of calamity which will overtake them while they are yet disputing (about it) among themselves. | مَا يَنظُرُونَ إِلاَّ صَيْحَة ً وَاحِدَة ً تَأْخُذُهُمْ وَهُمْ يَخِصِّمُونَ |
| Falā Yastaţī`ūna Tawşiyatan Wa Lā 'Ilá 'Ahlihim Yarji`ūna | َ036-050 And so (sudden will be their end) that they will not be able to leave instructions about their affairs nor to their own people will they return. | فَلاَ يَسْتَطِيعُونَ تَوْصِيَة ً وَلاَ إِلَى أَهْلِهِمْ يَرْجِعُونَ |
| Wa Nufikha Fī Aş-Şūri Fa'idhā Hum Mina Al-'Ajdāthi 'Ilá Rabbihim Yansilūna | َ036-051 And the trumpet shall be blown, and behold! (rising) from their graves they will hasten on to their Lord. | وَنُفِخَ فِي الصُّورِ فَإِذَا هُمْ مِنَ الأَجْدَاثِ إِلَى رَبِّهِمْ يَنسِلُونَ |
| Qālū Yā Waylanā Man Ba`athanā Min Marqadinā ۜ H ۗ ādhā Mā Wa`ada Ar-Raĥmānu Wa Şadaqa Al-Mursalūna | َ036-052 They will say (to one an other), `O woe be on us! Who has aroused us from our sleeping place?´ `This is the same thing as the Most Gracious (God) had promised and the Messengers (of God) did indeed speak the truth´ (will be the reply they receive). | قَالُوا يَاوَيْلَنَا مَنْ بَعَثَنَا مِنْ مَرْقَدِنَا هَذَا ۜ م ۗ َا وَعَدَ الرَّحْمَنُ وَصَدَقَ الْمُرْسَلُونَ |
| 'In Kānat 'Illā Şayĥatan Wāĥidatan Fa'idhā Hum Jamī`un Ladaynā Muĥđarūna | َ036-053 It will only be a single blast, and behold! they shall all be brought before Us. | إِنْ كَانَتْ إِلاَّ صَيْحَة ً وَاحِدَة ً فَإِذَا هُمْ جَمِيع ٌ لَدَيْنَا مُحْضَرُونَ |
| Fālyawma Lā Tužlamu Nafsun Shay'āan Wa Lā Tujzawna 'Illā Mā Kuntum Ta`malūna | َ036-054 So on this Day no injustice whatsoever shall be done to any soul. You shall reap the fruit of your deeds. | فَالْيَوْمَ لاَ تُظْلَمُ نَفْس ٌ شَيْئا ً وَلاَ تُجْزَوْنَ إِلاَّ مَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ |
| 'Inna 'Aşĥāba Al-Jannati Al-Yawma Fī Shughulin Fākihūna | َ036-055 On this Day, the owners of Paradise will be occupied (in their pursuits), rejoicing. | إِنَّ أَصْحَابَ الْجَنَّةِ الْيَوْمَ فِي شُغُل ٍ فَاكِهُونَ |
| Hum Wa 'Azwājuhum Fī Žilālin `Alá Al-'Arā'iki Muttaki'ūna | َ036-056 They and their companions will be in (pleasant) shades, reclining on raised couches. | هُمْ وَأَزْوَاجُهُمْ فِي ظِلاَلٍ عَلَى الأَرَائِكِ مُتَّكِئُونَ |
| Lahum Fīhā Fākihatun Wa Lahum Mā Yadda`ūna | َ036-057 Therein they shall have fruits, and they will have all that they ask for. | لَهُمْ فِيهَا فَاكِهَة ٌ وَلَهُمْ مَا يَدَّعُونَ |
| Salāmun Qawlāan Min Rabbin Raĥīmin | َ036-058 `Peace (be upon you)´ (shall be) the word (of greeting to them) from the Ever Merciful Lord. | سَلاَم ٌ قَوْلا ً مِنْ رَبّ ٍ رَحِيم ٍ |
| Wa Amtāzū Al-Yawma 'Ayyuhā Al-Mujrimūna | َ036-059 And (it will be said to the sinners), `O guilty ones! remain apart (as distinguished from the righteous) this day. | وَامْتَازُوا الْيَوْمَ أَيُّهَا الْمُجْرِمُونَ |
| 'Alam 'A`had 'Ilaykum Yā Banī 'Ādama 'An Lā Ta`budū Ash-Shayţāna ۖ 'Innahu Lakum `Adūwun Mubīnun | َ036-060 `O Children of Adam! did I not enjoin on you never to worship satan, for he is to you an enemy severing (your) ties (with Me). | أَلَمْ أَعْهَدْ إِلَيْكُمْ يَابَنِي آدَمَ أَنْ لاَ تَعْبُدُوا الشَّيْطَانَ إِنَّه ُُ ۖ لَكُمْ عَدُوّ ٌ مُبِين ٌ |
| Wa 'Ani A`budūnī ۚ Hādhā Şirāţun Mustaqīmun | َ036-061 `And (did I not charge you) to worship Me, (for) this is the straight and right path? | وَأَنِ اعْبُدُونِي ۚ هَذَا صِرَاط ٌ مُسْتَقِيم ٌ |
| Wa Laqad 'Ađalla Minkum Jibillāan Kathīrāan ۖ 'Afalam Takūnū Ta`qilūna | َ036-062 `Yet he (- satan) has certainly led astray a number of people from among you. Why do you not even then make use of your understanding (so as to rectify your error)? | وَلَقَدْ أَضَلَّ مِنْكُمْ جِبِلّا ً كَثِيراً ۖ أَفَلَمْ تَكُونُوا تَعْقِلُونَ |
| Hadhihi Jahannamu Allatī Kuntum Tū`adūna | َ036-063 `This is the Gehenna you were warned against. | هَذِه ِِ جَهَنَّمُ الَّتِي كُنتُمْ تُوعَدُونَ |
| Aşlawhā Al-Yawma Bimā Kuntum Takfurūna | َ036-064 `Enter it this day, because of your disbelief.´ | اصْلَوْهَا الْيَوْمَ بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَكْفُرُونَ |
| Al-Yawma Nakhtimu `Alá 'Afwāhihim Wa Tukallimunā 'Aydīhim Wa Tash/hadu 'Arjuluhum Bimā Kānū Yaksibūna | َ036-065 On that day We shall seal the mouths of these (disbelievers). Their hands will speak to Us (about the actions they wrought), and their feet shall bear witness to all their (sinful) doings. | الْيَوْمَ نَخْتِمُ عَلَى أَفْوَاهِهِمْ وَتُكَلِّمُنَا أَيْدِيهِمْ وَتَشْهَدُ أَرْجُلُهُمْ بِمَا كَانُوا يَكْسِبُونَ |
| Wa Law Nashā'u Laţamasnā `Alá 'A`yunihim Fāstabaqū Aş-Şirāţa Fa'anná Yubşirūna | َ036-066 If We had (so) willed, We could certainly have deprived these (disbelievers) of their eyesight so that they would have gone ahead on their path (unseeing). But, how should they find (the path) now (in this state of their blindness). | وَلَوْ نَشَاءُ لَطَمَسْنَا عَلَى أَعْيُنِهِمْ فَاسْتَبَقُوا الصِّرَاطَ فَأَنَّى يُبْصِرُونَ |
| Wa Law Nashā'u Lamasakhnāhum `Alá Makānatihim Famā Astaţā`ū Muđīyāan Wa Lā Yarji`ūna | َ036-067 If We had (so) willed, We could have surely destroyed them where they were, so that they would not be able to move forward nor turn back. | وَلَوْ نَشَاءُ لَمَسَخْنَاهُمْ عَلَى مَكَانَتِهِمْ فَمَا اسْتَطَاعُوا مُضِيّا ً وَلاَ يَرْجِعُونَ |
| Wa Man Nu`ammirhu Nunakkis/hu Fī Al-Khalqi ۖ 'Afalā Ya`qilūna | َ036-068 We reverse the mechanism of the person to whom We grant (extraordinary) long life by making the state of his constitution weak. Do they not (even then) make use of their understanding? | وَمَنْ نُعَمِّرْهُ نُنَكِّسْهُ فِي الْخَلْقِ ۖ أَفَلاَ يَعْقِلُونَ |
| Wa Mā `Allamnāhu Ash-Shi`ra Wa Mā Yanbaghī Lahu ۚ 'In Huwa 'Illā Dhikrun Wa Qur'ānun Mubīnun | َ036-069 We have not taught him (- the Prophet Muhammad the art of composing) verses, nor does it become him (to be a poet). This (Qur´ân) is but a means to attain to eminence; a (Book) that is widely read, and tells the right from the wrong. | وَمَا عَلَّمْنَاهُ الشِّعْرَ وَمَا يَنْبَغِي لَهُ~ُ ۚ إِنْ هُوَ إِلاَّ ذِكْر ٌ وَقُرْآن ٌ مُبِين ٌ |
| Liyundhira Man Kāna Ĥayyāan Wa Yaĥiqqa Al-Qawlu `Alá Al-Kāfirīna | َ036-070 (It has been revealed) so that he (- the Prophet) may warn those who are still (somewhat spiritually) alive (and so capable of receiving and responding to the call of truth), and (that) the verdict (of condemnation) be justified against the disbelievers. | لِيُنْذِرَ مَنْ كَانَ حَيّا ً وَيَحِقَّ الْقَوْلُ عَلَى الْكَافِرِينَ |
| 'Awalam Yaraw 'Annā Khalaqnā Lahum Mimmā `Amilat 'Aydīnā 'An`āmāan Fahum Lahā Mālikūna | َ036-071 Do they not see that among the things that We have made with Our power are the cattle which We have created for them, and of which they are masters (now). | أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا أَنَّا خَلَقْنَا لَهُمْ مِمَّا عَمِلَتْ أَيْدِينَا أَنْعَاما ً فَهُمْ لَهَا مَالِكُونَ |
| Wa Dhallalnāhā Lahum Faminhā Rakūbuhum Wa Minhā Ya'kulūna | َ036-072 And We have subdued these (cattle) for their use and benefit. So that some of them serve as their riding (beasts) and through others they obtain their food. | وَذَلَّلْنَاهَا لَهُمْ فَمِنْهَا رَكُوبُهُمْ وَمِنْهَا يَأْكُلُونَ |
| Wa Lahum Fīhā Manāfi`u Wa Mashāribu ۖ 'Afalā Yashkurūna | َ036-073 They have many other uses in them. They provide them with drinks (of various kinds). Will they still give (Us) no thanks? | وَلَهُمْ فِيهَا مَنَافِعُ وَمَشَارِبُ ۖ أَفَلاَ يَشْكُرُونَ |
| Wa Attakhadhū Min Dūni Al-Lahi 'Ālihatan La`allahum Yunşarūna | َ036-074 (Inspite of all this) they worship other gods apart from Allâh (falsely) that they may find some help through them. | وَاتَّخَذُوا مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ آلِهَة ً لَعَلَّهُمْ يُنصَرُونَ |
| Lā Yastaţī`ūna Naşrahum Wa Hum Lahum Jundun Muĥđarūna | َ036-075 These (false gods) are not capable of helping them. On the contrary these (gods) will (turn out for them to) be a host (of rebels) brought (before the Almighty to receive their due punishment). | لاَ يَسْتَطِيعُونَ نَصْرَهُمْ وَهُمْ لَهُمْ جُند ٌ مُحْضَرُونَ |
| Falā Yaĥzunka Qawluhum ۘ 'Innā Na`lamu Mā Yusirrūna Wa Mā Yu`linūna | َ036-076 And do not let their words cause you grief. Verily, We know what they conceal and what they profess (and they will be paid back in their own coins). | فَلاَ يَحْزُنْكَ قَوْلُهُمْ ۘ إِنَّا نَعْلَمُ مَا يُسِرُّونَ وَمَا يُعْلِنُونَ |
| 'Awalam Yara Al-'Insānu 'Annā Khalaqnāhu Min Nuţfatin Fa'idhā Huwa Khaşīmun Mubīnun | َ036-077 Has not a human being seen how We have created him out of a (very insignificant) sperm drop? Yet behold! he is an open adversary (to Us). | أَوَلَمْ يَرَ الإِنسَانُ أَنَّا خَلَقْنَاه ُُ مِنْ نُطْفَة ٍ فَإِذَا هُوَ خَصِيم ٌ مُبِين ٌ |
| Wa Đaraba Lanā Mathalāan Wa Nasiya Khalqahu ۖ Qāla Man Yuĥyī Al-`Ižāma Wa Hiya Ramīmun | َ036-078 And he coins strange things about Us and forgets his own creation. He says, `Who will quicken the dead bones to life when they are decayed?´ | وَضَرَبَ لَنَا مَثَلا ً وَنَسِيَ خَلْقَه ُُ ۖ قَالَ مَنْ يُحْيِي الْعِظَامَ وَهِيَ رَمِيم ٌ |
| Qul Yuĥyīhā Al-Ladhī 'Ansha'ahā 'Awwala Marratin ۖ Wa Huwa Bikulli Khalqin `Alīmun | َ036-079 Say, `He Who evolved them the first time will again raise them to life. He is fully conversant with all (types and methods of) creation. | قُلْ يُحْيِيهَا الَّذِي أَنشَأَهَا أَوَّلَ مَرَّة ٍ ۖ وَهُوَ بِكُلِّ خَلْقٍ عَلِيم ٌ |
| Al-Ladhī Ja`ala Lakum Mina Ash-Shajari Al-'Akhđari Nārāan Fa'idhā 'Antum Minhu Tūqidūna | َ036-080 `It is He Who produces fire for you out of the green tree, that you kindle (another fire) from it (even so new faith is kindled when the spiritually weak come in contact with the Divine Reformer).´ | الَّذِي جَعَلَ لَكُمْ مِنَ الشَّجَرِ الأَخْضَرِ نَارا ً فَإِذَا أَنْتُمْ مِنْهُ تُوقِدُونَ |
| 'Awalaysa Al-Ladhī Khalaqa As-Samāwāti Wa Al-'Arđa Biqādirin `Alá 'An Yakhluqa Mithlahum ۚ Balá Wa Huwa Al-Khallāqu Al-`Alīmu | َ036-081 Has He, Who has created the heavens and the earth, not the power of creating (other people) like them? Why not! He is the Supreme Creator (and) Possessor of all knowledge. | أَوَلَيْسَ الَّذِي خَلَقَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالأَرْضَ بِقَادِرٍ عَلَى أَنْ يَخْلُقَ مِثْلَهُمْ ۚ بَلَى وَهُوَ الْخَلاَّقُ الْعَلِيمُ |
| 'Innamā 'Amruhu 'Idhā 'Arāda Shay'āan 'An Yaqūla Lahu Kun Fayakūnu | َ036-082 Verily, His command, when He intends (to evolve) a thing, is (only) that He says to it, `Be´ and it comes into being (at proper time). | إِنَّمَا أَمْرُهُ~ُ إِذَا أَرَادَ شَيْئاً أَنْ يَقُولَ لَه ُُ كُنْ فَيَكُونُ |
| Fasubĥāna Al-Ladhī Biyadihi Malakūtu Kulli Shay'in Wa 'Ilayhi Turja`ūna | َ036-083 Therefore, glory be to Him in Whose hand lies the perfect control of every thing, and towards Whom you shall all be made to return. | فَسُبْحَانَ الَّذِي بِيَدِه ِِ مَلَكُوتُ كُلِّ شَيْء ٍ وَإِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُونَ |
