34) سُورَة سَبَأ

Al-Ĥamdu Lillahi Al-Ladhī Lahu Mā Fī As-Samāwāti Wa Mā Fī Al-'Arđi Wa Lahu Al-Ĥamdu Fī Al-'Ākhirati Wa Huwa Al-Ĥakīmu Al-Khabīru َ034-001 All kind of true and perfect praise is due to Allâh, to Whom belongs whatsoever lies in the heavens and whatsoever lies in the earth. To Him alone shall all praise belong in the Here-after. And He is the All-Wise, the All-Aware. الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي لَه ُُ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الأَرْضِ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ فِي الآخِرَةِ وَهُوَ الْحَكِيمُ الْخَبِيرُ
Ya`lamu Mā Yaliju Fī Al-'Arđi Wa Mā Yakhruju Minhā Wa Mā Yanzilu Mina As-Samā'i Wa Mā Ya`ruju Fīhā  ۚ  Wa Huwa Ar-Raĥīmu Al-Ghafūru َ034-002 He (- God the Almighty) knows all that goes into the earth and all that comes forth from it, and all that comes down from the heaven and all that goes up to it. And He is the Ever Merciful, the Great Protector. يَعْلَمُ مَا يَلِجُ فِي الأَرْضِ وَمَا يَخْرُجُ مِنْهَا وَمَا يَنزِلُ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ وَمَا يَعْرُجُ فِيهَا  ۚ  وَهُوَ الرَّحِيمُ الْغَفُورُ
Wa Qāla Al-Ladhīna Kafarū Lā Ta'tīnā As-Sā`atu  ۖ  Qul Balá Wa Rabbī Lata'tiyannakum `Ālimi Al-Ghaybi  ۖ  Lā Ya`zubu `Anhu Mithqālu Dharratin As-Samāwāti Wa Lā Fī Al-'Arđi Wa Lā 'Aşgharu Min Dhālika Wa Lā 'Akbaru 'Illā Fī Kitābin Mubīnin َ034-003 And those who disbelieve say, `The Hour will never come upon us.´ Say, `Why not, by my Lord, Who knows the unseen, it is bound to come upon you. Nothing escapes Him (unobserved), not even so much as an atom´s weight in the heavens or in the earth, nor is anything there smaller or greater than that (but is recorded) in a book revealing (the truth, and is governed by a plain law). وَقَالَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا لاَ تَأْتِينَا السَّاعَةُ  ۖ  قُلْ بَلَى وَرَبِّي لَتَأْتِيَنَّكُمْ عَالِمِ الْغَيْبِ  ۖ  لاَ يَعْزُبُ عَنْهُ مِثْقَالُ ذَرَّة ٍ فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَلاَ فِي الأَرْضِ وَلاَ أَصْغَرُ مِنْ ذَلِكَ وَلاَ أَكْبَرُ إِلاَّ فِي كِتَاب ٍ مُبِين ٍ
Liyajziya Al-Ladhīna 'Āmanū Wa `Amilū Aş-Şāliĥāti  ۚ  'Ūlā'ika Lahum Maghfiratun Wa Rizqun Karīmun َ034-004 (The Hour shall come) so that He may reward those who believe and do deeds of righteousness. It is they for whom there awaits protection (from the consequences of sin), and honourable and generous provision. لِيَجْزِيَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ  ۚ  أُوْلَائِكَ لَهُمْ مَغْفِرَة ٌ وَرِزْق ٌ كَرِيم ٌ
Wa Al-Ladhīna Sa`aw Fī 'Āyātinā Mu`ājizīna 'Ūlā'ika Lahum `Adhābun Min Rijzin 'Alīmun َ034-005 But (as to) those who strive hard against Our revelations seeking to frustrate (Our plan), it is they who will suffer a harrowing punishment of the worst sort. وَالَّذِينَ سَعَوْا فِي آيَاتِنَا مُعَاجِزِينَ أُوْلَائِكَ لَهُمْ عَذَاب ٌ مِنْ رِجْزٍ أَلِيم ٌ
Wa Yará Al-Ladhīna 'Ū Al-`Ilma Al-Ladhī 'Unzila 'Ilayka Min Rabbika Huwa Al-Ĥaqqa Wa Yahdī 'Ilá Şirāţi Al-`Azīzi Al-Ĥamīdi َ034-006 Those who have been given knowledge know that whatever has been revealed to you from your Lord is the very lasting truth, and that it guides to the path of (One Who is) the All-Mighty, the Highly Praiseworthy (in His own right). وَيَرَى الَّذِينَ أُوتُوا الْعِلْمَ الَّذِي أُنزِلَ إِلَيْكَ مِنْ رَبِّكَ هُوَ الْحَقَّ وَيَهْدِي إِلَى صِرَاطِ الْعَزِيزِ الْحَمِيدِ
Wa Qāla Al-Ladhīna Kafarū Hal Nadullukum `Alá Rajulin Yunabbi'ukum 'Idhā Muzziqtum Kulla Mumazzaqin 'Innakum Lafī Khalqin Jadīdin َ034-007 And those who disbelieve say (one to another), `Shall we show you a man who gives you the important news (that) when you are (dead and) broken up into a complete disintegration, you shall then be raised to a new life. وَقَالَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا هَلْ نَدُلُّكُمْ عَلَى رَجُل ٍ يُنَبِّئُكُمْ إِذَا مُزِّقْتُمْ كُلَّ مُمَزَّق ٍ إِنَّكُمْ لَفِي خَلْق ٍ جَدِيد ٍ
'Āftará `Alá Al-Lahi Kadhibāan 'Am Bihi Jinnatun  ۗ  Bali Al-Ladhīna Lā Yu'uminūna Bil-'Ākhirati Fī Al-`Adhābi Wa Ađ-Đalāli Al-Ba`īdi َ034-008 `Has he forged a lie in the name of Allâh? Or is he afflicted with madness?´ Neither of the two, of course, (is true,) the thing is that those who do not believe in the Hereafter are courting a sure agony and are steeped in a dismal error. أَافْتَرَى عَلَى اللَّهِ كَذِباً أَمْ بِه ِِ جِنَّة ٌ  ۗ  بَلِ الَّذِينَ لاَ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِالآخِرَةِ فِي الْعَذَابِ وَالضَّلاَلِ الْبَعِيدِ
'Afalam Yaraw 'Ilá Mā Bayna 'Aydīhim Wa Mā Khalfahum Mina As-Samā'i Wa Al-'Arđi  ۚ  'In Nasha' Nakhsif Bihimu Al-'Arđa 'Aw Nusqiţ `Alayhim Kisafāan Mina As-Samā'i  ۚ  'Inna Fī Dhālika La'āyatan Likulli `Abdin Munībin َ034-009 Do they not see (how they are surrounded on all sides by) the heaven and the earth that lie before and behind them? If We (so) please, We can make them low (and abased) in the land (and thus show some signs of the earth), or let some portion of the clouds fall down upon them (showing some heavenly signs). Behold! there is a sign in this for every penitent servant (of God). أَفَلَمْ يَرَوْا إِلَى مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَمَا خَلْفَهُمْ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ وَالأَرْضِ  ۚ  إِنْ نَشَأْ نَخْسِفْ بِهِمُ الأَرْضَ أَوْ نُسْقِطْ عَلَيْهِمْ كِسَفا ً مِنَ السَّمَاءِ  ۚ  إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لَآيَة ً لِكُلِّ عَبْد ٍ مُنِيب ٍ
Wa Laqad 'Ātaynā Dāwūda Minnā Fađlāan  ۖ  Yā Jibālu 'Awwibī Ma`ahu Wa Aţ-Ţayra  ۖ  Wa 'Alannā Lahu Al-Ĥadīda َ034-010 And certainly We bestowed Our (gracious) favours on David. (We said,) `O (you dwellers of the) mountains, obey him.´ And (We assigned) the birds and the swift footed horses (their duty); and We made the iron soft and pliant for him. وَلَقَدْ آتَيْنَا دَاوُودَ مِنَّا فَضْلا ً  ۖ  يَاجِبَالُ أَوِّبِي مَعَه ُُ وَالطَّيْرَ وَأَلَنَّا  ۖ  لَهُ الْحَدِيدَ
'Ani A`mal Sābighātin Wa Qaddir Fī As-Sardi  ۖ  Wa A`malū Şāliĥāan  ۖ  'Innī Bimā Ta`malūna Başīrun َ034-011 (We said to him,) `Make full length coats of mail (to cover the whole body) forging links of proper measure (for their smooth working).´ (And We also said to him and his followers,) `Do righteous deeds. I am a keen Observer of what you do.´ أَنِ اعْمَلْ سَابِغَات ٍ وَقَدِّرْ فِي السَّرْدِ  ۖ  وَاعْمَلُوا صَالِحا ً  ۖ  إِنِّي بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ بَصِير ٌ
Wa Lisulaymāna Ar-Rīĥa Ghudūwuhā Shahrun Wa Rawāĥuhā Shahrun  ۖ  Wa 'Asalnā Lahu `Ayna Al-Qiţri  ۖ  Wa Mina Al-Jinni Man Ya`malu Bayna Yadayhi Bi'idhni Rabbihi  ۖ  Wa Man Yazigh Minhum `An 'Amrinā Nudhiqhu Min `Adhābi As-Sa`īri َ034-012 And We made such winds serve Solomon the blowing of which in the forenoon (and thus help sailing of his ships) was equal to (a voyage of) a month (by the other ships); similarly its blowing in the afternoon was (also) equal to (a voyage of) a month (by them). And We made a spring of molten copper to flow for him. Also (given into his service were) some of the jinns (- wild and rebellious mountain tribes known as Amalaqites), who worked under him as trained craftsmen) by the command of his Lord. And (We also told them) whoever of them deviated from and disobeyed Our command (- that they should obey Solomon) We shall make him suffer the agony of burning. وَلِسُلَيْمَانَ الرِّيحَ غُدُوُّهَا شَهْر ٌ وَرَوَاحُهَا شَهْر ٌ  ۖ  وَأَسَلْنَا لَه ُُ عَيْنَ الْقِطْرِ  ۖ  وَمِنَ الْجِنِّ مَنْ يَعْمَلُ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ بِإِذْنِ رَبِّه ِِ  ۖ  وَمَنْ يَزِغْ مِنْهُمْ عَنْ أَمْرِنَا نُذِقْهُ مِنْ عَذَابِ السَّعِيرِ
Ya`malūna Lahu Mā Yashā'u Min Maĥārība Wa Tamāthīla Wa Jifānin Kāljawābi Wa Qudūrin Rāsiyātin  ۚ  A`malū 'Āla Dāwūda Shukrāan  ۚ  Wa Qalīlun Min `Ibādiya Ash-Shakūru َ034-013 Those (jinns -handy craftsmen) made for him (- Solomon) whatever he desired, places for worship and plans and basins (as large) as the tanks and large and heavy cooking pots well-set (on their trivets due to their large size). (And We said,) `Act gratefully, O people of David.´ Yet few are My people who are (really) grateful. يَعْمَلُونَ لَه ُُ مَا يَشَاءُ مِنْ مَحَارِيبَ وَتَمَاثِيلَ وَجِفَان ٍ كَالْجَوَابِ وَقُدُور ٍ رَاسِيَات ٍ  ۚ  اعْمَلُوا آلَ دَاوُودَ شُكْرا ً  ۚ  وَقَلِيل ٌ مِنْ عِبَادِيَ الشَّكُورُ
Falammā Qađaynā `Alayhi Al-Mawta Mā Dallahum `Alá Mawtihi 'Illā Dābbatu Al-'Arđi Ta'kulu Minsa'atahu  ۖ  Falammā Kharra Tabayyanati Al-Jinnu 'An Law Kānū Ya`lamūna Al-Ghayba Mā Labithū Fī Al-`Adhābi Al-Muhīni َ034-014 And when We ordained death for him (- Solomon) the people only came to know of his death through a (worthless) creature of earth (- Solomon´s son) that was eating away his (father´s) staff (- ruling power and glory). So when it fell down the jinn realized then plainly that had they known the secret (of the hollowness of the kingdom) they would have never remained in (a state of) humiliating torment. فَلَمَّا قَضَيْنَا عَلَيْهِ الْمَوْتَ مَا دَلَّهُمْ عَلَى مَوْتِهِ~ِ إِلاَّ دَابَّةُ الأَرْضِ تَأْكُلُ مِنسَأَتَه ُُ  ۖ  فَلَمَّا خَرَّ تَبَيَّنَتِ الْجِنُّ أَنْ لَوْ كَانُوا يَعْلَمُونَ الْغَيْبَ مَا لَبِثُوا فِي الْعَذَابِ الْمُهِينِ
Laqad Kāna Lisaba'iin Fī Maskanihim 'Āyatun  ۖ  Jannatāni `An Yamīnin Wa Shimālin  ۖ  Kulū Min Rizqi Rabbikum Wa Ashkurū Lahu  ۚ  Baldatun Ţayyibatun Wa Rabbun Ghafūrun َ034-015 There was indeed a great sign for Sheba in their homeland. (They had) two gardens (one) on the right and (one) on the left, (and We had said to them,) `Eat of the provisions (and enjoy the gifts) of your Lord and render Him thanks. (Yours is) a happy and beautiful land and Lord a Great Protector.´ لَقَدْ كَانَ لِسَبَإ ٍ فِي مَسْكَنِهِمْ آيَة ٌ  ۖ  جَنَّتَانِ عَنْ يَمِين ٍ وَشِمَال ٍ  ۖ  كُلُوا مِنْ رِزْقِ رَبِّكُمْ وَاشْكُرُوا لَه ُُ  ۚ  بَلْدَة ٌ طَيِّبَة ٌ وَرَبٌّ غَفُور ٌ
Fa'a`rađū Fa'arsalnā `Alayhim Sayla Al-`Arimi Wa Baddalnāhum Bijannatayhim Jannatayni Dhawātá 'Ukulin Khamţin Wa 'Athlin Wa Shay'in Min Sidrin Qalīlin َ034-016 But they turned away. Thereupon We sent against them a devastating flood. And We replaced their two (excellent) gardens by two (other) gardens bearing bitter fruit and (containing) Tamarisk and a few nettle shrubs (here and there). فَأَعْرَضُوا فَأَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ سَيْلَ الْعَرِمِ وَبَدَّلْنَاهُمْ بِجَنَّتَيْهِمْ جَنَّتَيْنِ ذَوَاتَى أُكُلٍ خَمْط ٍ وَأَثْل ٍ وَشَيْء ٍ مِنْ سِدْر ٍ قَلِيل ٍ
Dhālika Jazaynāhum Bimā Kafarū  ۖ  Wa Hal Nujāzī 'Illā Al-Kafūra َ034-017 That is how We recompensed them because of their ingratitude. It is only the ungrateful whom We recompense (in the like manner). ذَلِكَ جَزَيْنَاهُمْ بِمَا كَفَرُوا  ۖ  وَهَلْ نُجَازِي إِلاَّ الْكَفُورَ
Wa Ja`alnā Baynahum Wa Bayna Al-Qurá Allatī Bāraknā Fīhā Quráan Žāhiratan Wa Qaddarnā Fīhā As-Sayra  ۖ  Sīrū Fīhā Layāliya Wa 'Ayyāmāan 'Āminīna َ034-018 And We had placed between them (- the Shebians) and the towns (of Syria) which We had blessed, (other) towns facing each others and prominently visible, and We had fixed easy (journeying) stages between them. (We said to the people of Sheba), `Journey through them by night and day, safe and secure.´ وَجَعَلْنَا بَيْنَهُمْ وَبَيْنَ الْقُرَى الَّتِي بَارَكْنَا فِيهَا قُرى ً ظَاهِرَة ً وَقَدَّرْنَا فِيهَا السَّيْرَ  ۖ  سِيرُوا فِيهَا لَيَالِيَ وَأَيَّاما ً آمِنِينَ
Faqālū Rabbanā Bā`id Bayna 'Asfārinā Wa Žalamū 'Anfusahum Faja`alnāhum 'Aĥādītha Wa Mazzaqnāhum Kulla Mumazzaqin  ۚ  'Inna Fī Dhālika La'āyātin Likulli Şabbārin Shakūrin َ034-019 But (due to their ingratitude) they wanted (as if) to say, `Our Lord! make longer the distance between (the stages of) our journeys.´ And they did injustice to themselves. So We reduced them to mere legends and We broke them into complete disintegration (and scattered them far and wide). Behold! there are signs in this for all those who are patiently- persevering and highly grateful persons. فَقَالُوا رَبَّنَا بَاعِدْ بَيْنَ أَسْفَارِنَا وَظَلَمُوا أَنفُسَهُمْ فَجَعَلْنَاهُمْ أَحَادِيثَ وَمَزَّقْنَاهُمْ كُلَّ مُمَزَّق ٍ  ۚ  إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لَآيَات ٍ لِكُلِّ صَبَّار ٍ شَكُور ٍ
Wa Laqad Şaddaqa `Alayhim 'Iblīsu Žannahu Fa Attaba`ūhu 'Illā Farīqāan Mina Al-Mu'uminīna َ034-020 And Iblîs found that he judged regarding them correctly, (that he would be successful in leading the progeny of Adam astray,) excepting (only) a party of true believers, so (all) the rest of the people followed him; وَلَقَدْ صَدَّقَ عَلَيْهِمْ إِبْلِيسُ ظَنَّه ُُ فَاتَّبَعُوهُ~ُ إِلاَّ فَرِيقا ً مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ
Wa Mā Kāna Lahu `Alayhim Min Sulţānin 'Illā Lina`lama Man Yu'uminu Bil-'Ākhirati Mimman Huwa Minhā Fī Shakkin  ۗ  Wa Rabbuka `Alá Kulli Shay'in Ĥafīžun َ034-021 Though he (- Iblîs) had no authority over them (for it is by their own wrong beliefs and evil deeds that mankind brings about their spiritual ruin). (It happened thus) so that We might distinguish those who believed in the Hereafter from those who were suffering from doubts about it. Indeed, your Lord is Watchful over and Preserver of everything. وَمَا كَانَ لَه ُُ عَلَيْهِمْ مِنْ سُلْطَان ٍ إِلاَّ لِنَعْلَمَ مَنْ يُؤْمِنُ بِالآخِرَةِ مِمَّنْ هُوَ مِنْهَا فِي شَكّ ٍ  ۗ  وَرَبُّكَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ حَفِيظ ٌ
Qul Ad Al-Ladhīna Za`amtum Min Dūni Al-Lahi  ۖ  Lā Yamlikūna Mithqāla Dharratin As-Samāwāti Wa Lā Fī Al-'Arđi Wa Mā Lahum Fīhimā Min Shirkin Wa Mā Lahu Minhum Min Žahīrin َ034-022 Say, `Call on those whom you take (for gods) besides Allâh. They possess no power not even so much as the weight of an atom in the heavens or in the earth, nor do they share any control over either of them, nor does He receive any support from these (false gods).´ قُلْ ادْعُوا الَّذِينَ زَعَمْتُمْ مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ  ۖ  لاَ يَمْلِكُونَ مِثْقَالَ ذَرَّة ٍ فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَلاَ فِي الأَرْضِ وَمَا لَهُمْ فِيهِمَا مِنْ شِرْك ٍ وَمَا لَه ُُ مِنْهُمْ مِنْ ظَهِير ٍ
Wa Lā Tanfa`u Ash-Shafā`atu `Indahu 'Illā Liman 'Adhina Lahu  ۚ  Ĥattá 'Idhā Fuzzi`a `An Qulūbihim Qālū Mādhā Qāla Rabbukum  ۖ  Qālū Al-Ĥaqqa  ۖ  Wa Huwa Al-`Alīyu Al-Kabīru َ034-023 No intercession will avail with Him except (for him about) whom He permits (it). (Those for whom the intercession is permitted will keep waiting) until when their hearts are relieved of awe they would ask (one another), `What is it that your Lord said?´ Some of them will reply, `(He said) the truth.´ And He is the Highest, the Greatest. وَلاَ تَنفَعُ الشَّفَاعَةُ عِنْدَهُ~ُ إِلاَّ لِمَنْ أَذِنَ لَه ُُ  ۚ  حَتَّى إِذَا فُزِّعَ عَنْ قُلُوبِهِمْ قَالُوا مَاذَا قَالَ رَبُّكُمْ  ۖ  قَالُوا الْحَقَّ  ۖ  وَهُوَ الْعَلِيُّ الْكَبِيرُ
Qul Man Yarzuqukum Mina As-Samāwāti Wa Al-'Arđi  ۖ  Quli Al-Lahu  ۖ  Wa 'Innā 'Aw 'Īyākum La`alá Hudáan 'Aw Fī Đalālin Mubīnin َ034-024 Say, `Who provides you sustenance from the heavens and the earth?´ (Then) tell, `(None other than) Allâh.´ Surely, we (- the believers) are on the right guidance, nonetheless you (the disbelievers) are engrossed in evident error. قُلْ مَنْ يَرْزُقُكُمْ مِنَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالأَرْضِ  ۖ  قُلِ اللَّهُ  ۖ  وَإِنَّا أَوْ إِيَّاكُمْ لَعَلَى هُدىً أَوْ فِي ضَلاَل ٍ مُبِين ٍ
Qul Lā Tus'alūna `Ammā 'Ajramnā Wa Lā Nus'alu `Ammā Ta`malūna َ034-025 Say, `You will not be called upon to account for our sins, nor shall we be called upon to account for your doings.´ قُلْ لاَ تُسْأَلُونَ عَمَّا أَجْرَمْنَا وَلاَ نُسْأَلُ عَمَّا تَعْمَلُونَ
Qul Yajma`u Baynanā Rabbunā Thumma Yaftaĥu Baynanā Bil-Ĥaqqi Wa Huwa Al-Fattāĥu Al-`Alīmu َ034-026 Say, `Our Lord will bring us together (in a battle-field as opponents) and then He will judge between us with truth for He alone is the Supreme Judge, the All-Knowing. قُلْ يَجْمَعُ بَيْنَنَا رَبُّنَا ثُمَّ يَفْتَحُ بَيْنَنَا بِالْحَقِّ وَهُوَ الْفَتَّاحُ الْعَلِيمُ
Qul 'Arūniya Al-Ladhīna 'Alĥaqtum Bihi Shurakā'a  ۖ  Kallā  ۚ  Bal Huwa Al-Lahu Al-`Azīzu Al-Ĥakīmu َ034-027 Say, `Show me those beings whom you number with Him as (His) associates. By no means (should you associate partners with Him) for it is Allâh (alone) Who is the All-Mighty, the All-Wise. قُلْ أَرُونِيَ الَّذِينَ أَلْحَقْتُمْ بِه ِِ شُرَكَاءَ  ۖ  كَلاَّ  ۚ  بَلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ الْعَزِيزُ الْحَكِيمُ
Wa Mā 'Arsalnāka 'Illā Kāffatan Lilnnāsi Bashīrāan Wa Nadhīrāan Wa Lakinna 'Akthara An-Nāsi Lā Ya`lamūna َ034-028 (Prophet!) We have sent you not but towards entire mankind (till the end of time) as a Bearer of glad-tidings and as a Warner but most people do not know (that the Message of Islam is universal and the Qur´ân the last revealed Book). وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَاكَ إِلاَّ كَافَّة ً لِلنَّاسِ بَشِيرا ً وَنَذِيرا ً وَلَكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ النَّاسِ لاَ يَعْلَمُونَ
Wa Yaqūlūna Matá Hādhā Al-Wa`du 'In Kuntum Şādiqīna َ034-029 And they say, `Tell us, if you speak the truth when this promise will be (fulfilled).´ وَيَقُولُونَ مَتَى هَذَا الْوَعْدُ إِنْ كُنتُمْ صَادِقِينَ
Qul Lakum Mī`ādu Yawmin Lā Tasta'khirūna `Anhu Sā`atan Wa Lā Tastaqdimūna َ034-030 Say, `For you is the appointment of a day which you cannot delay by a single moment (and thus avoid it), nor shall you be able to go ahead (of it to find an escape from it for a single moment).´ قُلْ لَكُمْ مِيعَادُ يَوْم ٍ لاَ تَسْتَأْخِرُونَ عَنْهُ سَاعَة ً وَلاَ تَسْتَقْدِمُونَ
Wa Qāla Al-Ladhīna Kafarū Lan Nu'umina Bihadhā Al-Qur'āni Wa Lā Bial-Ladhī Bayna Yadayhi  ۗ  Wa Law Tará 'Idhi Až-Žālimūna Mawqūfūna `Inda Rabbihim Yarji`u Ba`đuhum 'Ilá Ba`đin Al-Qawla Yaqūlu Al-Ladhīna Astuđ`ifū Lilladhīna Astakbarū Lawlā 'Antum Lakunnā Mu'uminīna َ034-031 And those who disbelieve say, `We will never believe in this Qur´ân nor in (the Books) that preceded it.´ Could you but see their condition when the wrongdoers will be made to stand before their Lord, they will be bandying words (and so throwing back the blame) on one another. Those who had been suppressed and made weak will say to those who considered themselves superior, `Had it not been for you we would surely have been believers.´ وَقَالَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا لَنْ نُؤْمِنَ بِهَذَا الْقُرْآنِ وَلاَ بِالَّذِي بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ  ۗ  وَلَوْ تَرَى إِذِ الظَّالِمُونَ مَوْقُوفُونَ عِنْدَ رَبِّهِمْ يَرْجِعُ بَعْضُهُمْ إِلَى بَعْض ٍ الْقَوْلَ يَقُولُ الَّذِينَ اسْتُضْعِفُوا لِلَّذِينَ اسْتَكْبَرُوا لَوْلاَ أَنْتُمْ لَكُنَّا مُؤْمِنِينَ
Qāla Al-Ladhīna Astakbarū Lilladhīna Astuđ`ifū 'Anaĥnu Şadadnākum `Ani Al-Hudá Ba`da 'Idh Jā'akum  ۖ  Bal Kuntum Mujrimīna َ034-032 (Thereupon) those who considered themselves superior will say to those who had been suppressed and made weak (in the world), `Was it we who kept you away from (following) the guidance after it had come to you? No, this was not the case. Rather you were guilty in your own right.´ قَالَ الَّذِينَ اسْتَكْبَرُوا لِلَّذِينَ اسْتُضْعِفُوا أَنَحْنُ صَدَدْنَاكُمْ عَنِ الْهُدَى بَعْدَ إِذْ جَاءَكُمْ  ۖ  بَلْ كُنتُمْ مُجْرِمِينَ
Wa Qāla Al-Ladhīna Astuđ`ifū Lilladhīna Astakbarū Bal Makru Al-Layli Wa An-Nahāri 'Idh Ta'murūnanā 'An Nakfura Bil-Lahi Wa Naj`ala Lahu 'Andādāan  ۚ  Wa 'Asarrū An-Nadāmata Lammā Ra'aw Al-`Adhāba Wa Ja`alnā Al-'Aghlāla Fī 'A`nāqi Al-Ladhīna Kafarū  ۚ  Hal Yujzawna 'Illā Mā Kānū Ya`malūna َ034-033 And those who were suppressed and made weak (in the world) will say to those who considered themselves superior, `Nay, (We did not become guilty in our own right) rather it was due to your schemes (which you hatched) by day and night (that kept us away from guidance); for then you urged us to disbelieve in Allâh and set up equals with Him (to be worshipped).´ And they will not be able to conceal their remorse when they see the punishment; We shall put shackles round the necks of these disbelievers. They will be recompensed only according to their (actual) deeds. وَقَالَ الَّذِينَ اسْتُضْعِفُوا لِلَّذِينَ اسْتَكْبَرُوا بَلْ مَكْرُ اللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ إِذْ تَأْمُرُونَنَا أَنْ نَكْفُرَ بِاللَّهِ وَنَجْعَلَ لَهُ~ُ أَندَادا ً  ۚ  وَأَسَرُّوا النَّدَامَةَ لَمَّا رَأَوْا الْعَذَابَ وَجَعَلْنَا الأَغْلاَلَ فِي أَعْنَاقِ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا  ۚ  هَلْ يُجْزَوْنَ إِلاَّ مَا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ
Wa Mā 'Arsalnā Fī Qaryatin Min Nadhīrin 'Illā Qāla Mutrafūhā 'Innā Bimā 'Ursiltum Bihi Kāfirūna َ034-034 We sent no Warner to any town but its corrupted well-to-do people said, `Surely we disbelieve in the Messages that you have been sent with.´ وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَا فِي قَرْيَة ٍ مِنْ نَذِير ٍ إِلاَّ قَالَ مُتْرَفُوهَا إِنَّا بِمَا أُرْسِلْتُمْ بِه ِِ كَافِرُونَ
Wa Qālū Naĥnu 'Aktharu 'Amwālāan Wa 'Awlādāan Wa Mā Naĥnu Bimu`adhdhabīna َ034-035 And they (also) say, `We are better off in respect of wealth and children (as compared with others) and we are not at all going to be made to suffer.´ وَقَالُوا نَحْنُ أَكْثَرُ أَمْوَالا ً وَأَوْلاَدا ً وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمُعَذَّبِينَ
Qul 'Inna Rabbī Yabsuţu Ar-Rizqa Liman Yashā'u Wa Yaqdiru Wa Lakinna 'Akthara An-Nāsi Lā Ya`lamūna َ034-036 Say, `Verily, my Lord multiplies the means of livelihood for whom He will and makes them scant (for whom He pleases), but most people do not know (the reason behind). قُلْ إِنَّ رَبِّي يَبْسُطُ الرِّزْقَ لِمَنْ يَشَاءُ وَيَقْدِرُ وَلَكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ النَّاسِ لاَ يَعْلَمُونَ
Wa Mā 'Amwālukum Wa Lā 'Awlādukum Bi-Atī Tuqarribukum `Indanā Zulfá 'Illā Man 'Āmana Wa `Amila Şāliĥāan Fa'ūlā'ika Lahum Jazā'u Ađ-Đi`fi Bimā `Amilū Wa Hum Al-Ghurufāti 'Āminūna َ034-037 Neither your wealth nor your children are a means that can bring you near to Us in rank. But it is only those who believe and do righteous deeds (whose faith and virtue will be the means to bring them near to Us). They shall have the reward for their (virtuous) deeds many times over and shall be occupying the lofty places with peace and security. وَمَا أَمْوَالُكُمْ وَلاَ أَوْلاَدُكُمْ بِالَّتِي تُقَرِّبُكُمْ عِنْدَنَا زُلْفَى إِلاَّ مَنْ آمَنَ وَعَمِلَ صَالِحا ً فَأُوْلَائِكَ لَهُمْ جَزَاءُ الضِّعْفِ بِمَا عَمِلُوا وَهُمْ فِي الْغُرُفَاتِ آمِنُونَ
Wa Al-Ladhīna Yas`awna Fī 'Āyātinā Mu`ājizīna 'Ūlā'ika Fī Al-`Adhābi Muĥđarūna َ034-038 But those who strive hard in their opposition to Our Messages seeking to render (Our plan) null and void (and thinking they will escape Us), it is they who will be brought to face punishment. وَالَّذِينَ يَسْعَوْنَ فِي آيَاتِنَا مُعَاجِزِينَ أُوْلَائِكَ فِي الْعَذَابِ مُحْضَرُونَ
Qul 'Inna Rabbī Yabsuţu Ar-Rizqa Liman Yashā'u Min `Ibādihi Wa Yaqdiru Lahu  ۚ  Wa Mā 'Anfaqtum Min Shay'in Fahuwa Yukhlifuhu  ۖ  Wa Huwa Khayru Ar-Rāziqīna َ034-039 Say, `Surely, my Lord multiplies the means of livelihood for such of His servants as He will and makes them scant for him (whom He pleases). And whatever you spend (in some noble cause) He exceeds it (in giving reward) so as to leave it (- your own contribution) behind; He is the Best of Providers. قُلْ إِنَّ رَبِّي يَبْسُطُ الرِّزْقَ لِمَنْ يَشَاءُ مِنْ عِبَادِه ِِ وَيَقْدِرُ لَه ُُ  ۚ  وَمَا أَنفَقْتُمْ مِنْ شَيْء ٍ فَهُوَ يُخْلِفُه ُُ  ۖ  وَهُوَ خَيْرُ الرَّازِقِينَ
Wa Yawma Yaĥshuruhum Jamī`āan Thumma Yaqūlu Lilmalā'ikati 'Ahā'uulā' 'Īyākum Kānū Ya`budūna َ034-040 (Never be oblivious of) the day when He will gather them all together, then He will say to the angels, `Are these the ones who used to worship you?´ وَيَوْمَ يَحْشُرُهُمْ جَمِيعا ً ثُمَّ يَقُولُ لِلْمَلاَئِكَةِ أَهَاؤُلاَء إِيَّاكُمْ كَانُوا يَعْبُدُونَ
Qālū Subĥānaka 'Anta Walīyunā Min Dūnihim  ۖ  Bal Kānū Ya`budūna Al-Jinna  ۖ  'Aktharuhum Bihim Mu'uminūna َ034-041 They will say, `Holy is Your name. It is You Who are our Protector against them, not they. It was not us but the jinns that they worshipped. It was in them that most of them believed (and not in Us). قَالُوا سُبْحَانَكَ أَنْتَ وَلِيُّنَا مِنْ دُونِهِمْ  ۖ  بَلْ كَانُوا يَعْبُدُونَ الْجِنَّ  ۖ  أَكْثَرُهُمْ بِهِمْ مُؤْمِنُونَ
Fālyawma Lā Yamliku Ba`đukum Liba`đin Naf`āan Wa Lā Đarrāan Wa Naqūlu Lilladhīna Žalamū Dhūqū `Adhāba An-Nāri Allatī Kuntum Bihā Tukadhdhibūn َ034-042 So (it will be said to the false gods and their worshippers,) `This day you have no power to help or harm one another.´ And We shall say to the wrongdoers, `Suffer the agony of the Fire which you used to cry lies to.´ فَالْيَوْمَ لاَ يَمْلِكُ بَعْضُكُمْ لِبَعْض ٍ نَفْعا ً وَلاَ ضَرّا ً وَنَقُولُ لِلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا ذُوقُوا عَذَابَ النَّارِ الَّتِي كُنتُمْ بِهَا تُكَذِّبُون
Wa 'Idhā Tutlá `Alayhim 'Āyātunā Bayyinātin Qālū Mā Hādhā 'Illā Rajulun Yurīdu 'An Yaşuddakum `Ammā Kāna Ya`budu 'Ābā'uukum Wa Qālū Mā Hādhā 'Illā 'Ifkun Muftaráan  ۚ  Wa Qāla Al-Ladhīna Kafarū Lilĥaqqi Lammā Jā'ahum 'In Hādhā 'Illā Siĥrun Mubīnun َ034-043 And when Our clear Messages are recited to them they say, `This fellow is but a man who wishes to keep you away from (worshipping the gods) that your fathers used to worship.´ And they say (of the Qur´ân), `This is nothing but a forged lie unprecedent.´ And those who disbelieve say regarding this (perfect) truth when it has come to them, `This is nothing but a hoax causing a split (among the people).´ وَإِذَا تُتْلَى عَلَيْهِمْ آيَاتُنَا بَيِّنَات ٍ قَالُوا مَا هَذَا إِلاَّ رَجُل ٌ يُرِيدُ أَنْ يَصُدَّكُمْ عَمَّا كَانَ يَعْبُدُ آبَاؤُكُمْ وَقَالُوا مَا هَذَا إِلاَّ إِفْك ٌ مُفْتَرى ً  ۚ  وَقَالَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا لِلْحَقِّ لَمَّا جَاءَهُمْ إِنْ هَذَا إِلاَّ سِحْر ٌ مُبِين ٌ
Wa Mā 'Ātaynāhum Min Kutubin Yadrusūnahā  ۖ  Wa Mā 'Arsalnā 'Ilayhim Qablaka Min Nadhīrin َ034-044 Whereas We had given them none of (Our) Books which they studied, nor did We send to them any Warner (in the recent past) before you (that they should have known the abuses involved in forging lies). وَمَا آتَيْنَاهُمْ مِنْ كُتُب ٍ يَدْرُسُونَهَا  ۖ  وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَا إِلَيْهِمْ قَبْلَكَ مِنْ نَذِير ٍ
Wa Kadhdhaba Al-Ladhīna Min Qablihim Wa Mā Balaghū Mi`shāra Mā 'Ātaynāhum Fakadhdhabū Rusulī  ۖ  Fakayfa Kāna Nakīri َ034-045 Their predecessors had also cried lies (to the Prophets of their time). And these (Makkans) have not attained (even) a tenth of that (resources of wealth and strength) which We had given their predecessors, yet they cried lies to My Messages so (let these see) how (terrible) was the change I brought about and how (tremendous) was (the result of) My disapproval. وَكَذَّبَ الَّذِينَ مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْ وَمَا بَلَغُوا مِعْشَارَ مَا آتَيْنَاهُمْ فَكَذَّبُوا رُسُلِي  ۖ  فَكَيْفَ كَانَ نَكِيرِ
Qul 'Innamā 'A`ižukum Biwāĥidatin  ۖ  'An Taqūmū Lillahi Mathná Wa Furādá Thumma Tatafakkarū  ۚ  Mā Bişāĥibikum Min Jinnatin  ۚ  'In Huwa 'Illā Nadhīrun Lakum Bayna Yaday `Adhābin Shadīdin َ034-046 Say, `I advise you (to do) one thing, (it is) that you keep Allâh (before) you, stand up in twos (- collectively) and ones (- singly) and then ponder (over the teachings of this Prophet). (You will come to the conclusion) that there is no vestige of insanity in (this) companion of yours (- Muhammad). He is only a Warner to you of a great calamity which is impending (over you). قُلْ إِنَّمَا أَعِظُكُمْ بِوَاحِدَةٍ  ۖ  أَنْ تَقُومُوا لِلَّهِ مَثْنَى وَفُرَادَى ثُمَّ تَتَفَكَّرُوا  ۚ  مَا بِصَاحِبِكُمْ مِنْ جِنَّة ٍ  ۚ  إِنْ هُوَ إِلاَّ نَذِير ٌ لَكُمْ بَيْنَ يَدَيْ عَذَاب ٍ شَدِيد ٍ
Qul Mā Sa'altukum Min 'Ajrin Fahuwa Lakum  ۖ  'In 'Ajriya 'Illā `Alá Al-Lahi  ۖ  Wa Huwa `Alá Kulli Shay'in Shahīdun َ034-047 Say, `Whatever reward I might have asked of you (for my this exhortation) you can keep it with you. (I claim) my reward only from Allâh for He is the Witness over all things.´ قُلْ مَا سَأَلْتُكُمْ مِنْ أَجْر ٍ فَهُوَ لَكُمْ  ۖ  إِنْ أَجْرِيَ إِلاَّ عَلَى اللَّهِ  ۖ  وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْء ٍ شَهِيد ٌ
Qul 'Inna Rabbī Yaqdhifu Bil-Ĥaqqi `Allāmu Al-Ghuyūbi َ034-048 Say, `My Lord will do away (with falsehood) by means of the truth. (He is) thoroughly Aware of the hidden realities.´ قُلْ إِنَّ رَبِّي يَقْذِفُ بِالْحَقِّ عَلاَّمُ الْغُيُوبِ
Qul Jā'a Al-Ĥaqqu Wa Mā Yubdi'u Al-Bāţilu Wa Mā Yu`īdu َ034-049 Say, `The perfect truth has come (in Makkah) and (as a prophecy keep it in mind that) falsehood (and idol-worship has gone) never to sprout (again from this soil) and never to return (to it). قُلْ جَاءَ الْحَقُّ وَمَا يُبْدِئُ الْبَاطِلُ وَمَا يُعِيدُ
Qul 'In Đalaltu Fa'innamā 'Ađillu `Alá Nafsī  ۖ  Wa 'Ini Ahtadaytu Fabimā Yūĥī 'Ilayya Rabbī  ۚ  'Innahu Samī`un Qarībun َ034-050 Say, `If I am lost, it is I who suffer the loss (for my own faults), but if I am rightly guided, it is entirely due to (the truth) that my Lord has revealed to me. Verily, He is All-Hearing, Ever Nigh. قُلْ إِنْ ضَلَلْتُ فَإِنَّمَا أَضِلُّ عَلَى نَفْسِي  ۖ  وَإِنِ اهْتَدَيْتُ فَبِمَا يُوحِي إِلَيَّ رَبِّي  ۚ  إِنَّه ُُ سَمِيع ٌ قَرِيب ٌ
Wa Law Tará 'Idh Fazi`ū Falā Fawta Wa 'Ukhidhū Min Makānin Qarībin َ034-051 And (you will be simply astonished) if you could only see when these (disbelievers) will be in the grip of fear; but then there will be no escape and they will be seized (with punishment) at a place nearby (- at Badr). وَلَوْ تَرَى إِذْ فَزِعُوا فَلاَ فَوْتَ وَأُخِذُوا مِنْ مَكَان ٍ قَرِيب ٍ
Wa Qālū 'Āmannā Bihi Wa 'Anná Lahumu At-Tanāwushu Min Makānin Ba`īdin َ034-052 Then they will say, `We (now) believe in this (- Qur´ân). But how can the attainment (of faith) be possible from a position (of disbelief) so far off, وَقَالُوا آمَنَّا بِه ِِ وَأَنَّى لَهُمُ التَّنَاوُشُ مِنْ مَكَان ٍ بَعِيد ٍ
Wa Qad Kafarū Bihi Min Qablu  ۖ  Wa Yaqdhifūna Bil-Ghaybi Min Makānin Ba`īdin َ034-053 While they had indeed disbelieved in it before this, and they were shooting at the unknown (and making far fetched and useless conjectures about the failure of the Prophet and their own triumph) from a place far off. وَقَدْ كَفَرُوا بِه ِِ مِنْ قَبْلُ  ۖ  وَيَقْذِفُونَ بِالْغَيْبِ مِنْ مَكَان ٍ بَعِيد ٍ
Wa Ĥīla Baynahum Wa Bayna Mā Yashtahūna Kamā Fu`ila Bi'ashyā`ihim Min Qablu  ۚ  'Innahum Kānū Fī Shakkin Murībin َ034-054 A barrier has been placed between them and their longings (and they will fail to see the realisation of their hearts desire, the failure of the Prophet in his mission), as was done with the people similar to them before (this). They (too) suffered from disquieting doubts. وَحِيلَ بَيْنَهُمْ وَبَيْنَ مَا يَشْتَهُونَ كَمَا فُعِلَ بِأَشْيَاعِهِمْ مِنْ قَبْلُ  ۚ  إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا فِي شَكّ ٍ مُرِيب ٍ
