`Amma Yatasā'alūna | 078.001 Concerning what are they disputing? |
`Ani An-Naba'i Al-`Ažīmi | 078.002 Concerning the Great News, |
Al-Ladhī Hum Fīhi Mukhtalifūna | 078.003 About which they cannot agree. |
Kallā Saya`lamūna | 078.004 Verily, they shall soon (come to) know! |
Thumma Kallā Saya`lamūna | 078.005 Verily, verily they shall soon (come to) know! |
'Alam Naj`ali Al-'Arđa Mihādāan | 078.006 Have We not made the earth as a wide expanse, |
Wa Al-Jibāla 'Awtādāan | 078.007 And the mountains as pegs? |
Wa Khalaqnākum 'Azwājāan | 078.008 And (have We not) created you in pairs, |
Wa Ja`alnā Nawmakum Subātāan | 078.009 And made your sleep for rest, |
Wa Ja`alnā Al-Layla Libāsāan | 078.010 And made the night as a covering, |
Wa Ja`alnā An-Nahāra Ma`āshāan | 078.011 And made the day as a means of subsistence? |
Wa Banaynā Fawqakum Sab`āan Shidādāan | 078.012 And (have We not) built over you the seven firmaments, |
Wa Ja`alnā Sirājāan Wa Hhājāan | 078.013 And placed (therein) a Light of Splendour? |
Wa 'Anzalnā Mina Al-Mu`şirāti Mā'an Thajjājāan | 078.014 And do We not send down from the clouds water in abundance, |
Linukhrija Bihi Ĥabbāan Wa Nabātāan | 078.015 That We may produce therewith corn and vegetables, |
Wa Jannātin 'Alfāfāan | 078.016 And gardens of luxurious growth? |
'Inna Yawma Al-Faşli Kāna Mīqātāan | 078.017 Verily the Day of Sorting out is a thing appointed, |
Yawma Yunfakhu Fī Aş-Şūri Fata'tūna 'Afwājāan | 078.018 The Day that the Trumpet shall be sounded, and ye shall come forth in crowds; |
Wa Futiĥati As-Samā'u Fakānat 'Abwābāan | 078.019 And the heavens shall be opened as if there were doors, |
Wa Suyyirati Al-Jibālu Fakānat Sarābāan | 078.020 And the mountains shall vanish, as if they were a mirage. |
'Inna Jahannama Kānat Mirşādāan | 078.021 Truly Hell is as a place of ambush, |
Lilţţāghīna Ma'ābāan | 078.022 For the transgressors a place of destination: |
Lābithīna Fīhā 'Aĥqābāan | 078.023 They will dwell therein for ages. |
Lā Yadhūqūna Fīhā Bardāan Wa Lā Sharābāan | 078.024 Nothing cool shall they taste therein, nor any drink, |
'Illā Ĥamīmāan Wa Ghassāqāan | 078.025 Save a boiling fluid and a fluid, dark, murky, intensely cold, |
Jazā'an Wifāqāan | 078.026 A fitting recompense (for them). |
'Innahum Kānū Lā Yarjūna Ĥisābāan | 078.027 For that they used not to fear any account (for their deeds), |
Wa Kadhdhabū Bi'āyātinā Kidhdhābāan | 078.028 But they (impudently) treated Our Signs as false. |
Wa Kulla Shay'in 'Aĥşaynāhu Kitābāan | 078.029 And all things have We preserved on record. |
Fadhūqū Falan Nazīdakum 'Illā `Adhābāan | 078.030 "So taste ye (the fruits of your deeds); for no increase shall We grant you, except in Punishment." |
'Inna Lilmuttaqīna Mafāzāan | 078.031 Verily for the Righteous there will be a fulfilment of (the heart's) desires; |
Ĥadā'iqa Wa 'A`nābāan | 078.032 Gardens enclosed, and grapevines; |
Wa Kawā`iba 'Atrābāan | 078.033 Companions of equal age; |
Wa Ka'sāan Dihāqāan | 078.034 And a cup full (to the brim). |
Lā Yasma`ūna Fīhā Laghwan Wa Lā Kidhdhābāan | 078.035 No vanity shall they hear therein, nor Untruth:- |
Jazā'an Min Rabbika `Aţā'an Ĥisābāan | 078.036 Recompense from thy Lord, a gift, (amply) sufficient, |
Rabbi As-Samāwāti Wa Al-'Arđi Wa Mā Baynahumā Ar-Raĥmāni Lā Yamlikūna Minhu Khiţābāan | 078.037 (From) the Lord of the heavens and the earth, and all between, (God) Most Gracious: None shall have power to argue with Him. |
Yawma Yaqūmu Ar-Rūĥu Wa Al-Malā'ikatu Şaffāan Lā Yatakallamūna 'Illā Man 'Adhina Lahu Ar-Raĥmānu Wa Qāla Şawābāan | 078.038 The Day that the Spirit and the angels will stand forth in ranks, none shall speak except any who is permitted by (God) Most Gracious, and He will say what is right. |
Dhālika Al-Yawmu Al-Ĥaqqu Faman Shā'a Attakhadha 'Ilá Rabbihi Ma'ābāan | 078.039 That Day will be the sure Reality: Therefore, whoso will, let him take a (straight) return to his Lord! |
'Innā 'Andharnākum `Adhābāan Qarībāan Yawma Yanžuru Al-Mar'u Mā Qaddamat Yadāhu Wa Yaqūlu Al-Kāfiru Yā Laytanī Kuntu Turābāan | 078.040 Verily, We have warned you of a Penalty near, the Day when man will see (the deeds) which his hands have sent forth, and the Unbeliever will say, "Woe unto me! Would that I were (metre) dust!" |
