Wa Adh-Dhāriyāti Dharwan | 051.001 By the (Winds) that scatter broadcast; |
Fālĥāmilāti Wiqrāan | 051.002 And those that lift and bear away heavy weights; |
Fāljāriyāti Yusrāan | 051.003 And those that flow with ease and gentleness; |
Fālmuqassimāti 'Amrāan | 051.004 And those that distribute and apportion by Command;- |
'Innamā Tū`adūna Laşādiqun | 051.005 Verily that which ye are promised is true; |
Wa 'Inna Ad-Dīna Lawāqi`un | 051.006 And verily Judgment and Justice must indeed come to pass. |
Wa As-Samā'i Dhāti Al-Ĥubuki | 051.007 By the Sky with (its) numerous Paths, |
'Innakum Lafī Qawlin Mukhtalifin | 051.008 Truly ye are in a doctrine discordant, |
Yu'ufaku `Anhu Man 'Ufika | 051.009 Through which are deluded (away from the Truth) such as would be deluded. |
Qutila Al-Kharrāşūna | 051.010 Woe to the falsehood-mongers,- |
Al-Ladhīna Hum Fī Ghamratin Sāhūna | 051.011 Those who (flounder) heedless in a flood of confusion: |
Yas'alūna 'Ayyāna Yawmu Ad-Dīni | 051.012 They ask, "When will be the Day of Judgment and Justice?" |
Yawma Hum `Alá An-Nāri Yuftanūna | 051.013 (It will be) a Day when they will be tried (and tested) over the Fire! |
Dhūqū Fitnatakum Hādhā Al-Ladhī Kuntum Bihi Tasta`jilūna | 051.014 "Taste ye your trial! This is what ye used to ask to be hastened!" |
'Inna Al-Muttaqīna Fī Jannātin Wa `Uyūnin | 051.015 As to the Righteous, they will be in the midst of Gardens and Springs, |
'Ākhidhīna Mā 'Ātāhum Rabbuhum 'Innahum Kānū Qabla Dhālika Muĥsinīna | 051.016 Taking joy in the things which their Lord gives them, because, before then, they lived a good life. |
Kānū Qalīlāan Mina Al-Layli Mā Yahja`ūna | 051.017 They were in the habit of sleeping but little by night, |
Wa Bil-'Asĥāri Hum Yastaghfirūna | 051.018 And in the hour of early dawn, they (were found) praying for Forgiveness; |
Wa Fī 'Amwālihim Ĥaqqun Lilssā'ili Wa Al-Maĥrūmi | 051.019 And in their wealth and possessions (was remembered) the right of the (needy,) him who asked, and him who (for some reason) was prevented (from asking). |
Wa Fī Al-'Arđi 'Āyātun Lilmūqinīna | 051.020 On the earth are signs for those of assured Faith, |
Wa Fī 'Anfusikum 'Afalā Tubşirūna | 051.021 As also in your own selves: Will ye not then see? |
Wa Fī As-Samā'i Rizqukum Wa Mā Tū`adūna | 051.022 And in heaven is your Sustenance, as (also) that which ye are promised. |
Fawarabbi As-Samā'i Wa Al-'Arđi 'Innahu Laĥaqqun Mithla Mā 'Annakum Tanţiqūna | 051.023 Then, by the Lord of heaven and earth, this is the very Truth, as much as the fact that ye can speak intelligently to each other. |
Hal 'Atāka Ĥadīthu Đayfi 'Ibrāhīma Al-Mukramīna | 051.024 Has the story reached thee, of the honoured guests of Abraham? |
'Idh Dakhalū `Alayhi Faqālū Salāmāan Qāla Salāmun Qawmun Munkarūna | 051.025 Behold, they entered his presence, and said: "Peace!" He said, "Peace!" (and thought, "These seem) unusual people." |
Farāgha 'Ilá 'Ahlihi Fajā'a Bi`ijlin Samīnin | 051.026 Then he turned quickly to his household, brought out a fatted calf, |
Faqarrabahu 'Ilayhim Qāla 'Alā Ta'kulūna | 051.027 And placed it before them.. he said, "Will ye not eat?" |
Fa'awjasa Minhum Khīfatan Qālū Lā Takhaf Wa Bashsharūhu Bighulāmin `Alīmin | 051.028 (When they did not eat), He conceived a fear of them. They said, "Fear not," and they gave him glad tidings of a son endowed with knowledge. |
Fa'aqbalati Amra'atuhu Fī Şarratin Faşakkat Wajhahā Wa Qālat `Ajūzun `Aqīmun | 051.029 But his wife came forward (laughing) aloud: she smote her forehead and said: "A barren old woman!" |
Qālū Kadhāliki Qāla Rabbuki 'Innahu Huwa Al-Ĥakīmu Al-`Alīmu | 051.030 They said, "Even so has thy Lord spoken: and He is full of Wisdom and Knowledge." |
Qāla Famā Khaţbukum 'Ayyuhā Al-Mursalūna | 051.031 (Abraham) said: "And what, O ye Messengers, is your errand (now)?" |
Qālū 'Innā 'Ursilnā 'Ilá Qawmin Mujrimīna | 051.032 They said, "We have been sent to a people (deep) in sin;- |
Linursila `Alayhim Ĥijāratan Min Ţīnin | 051.033 "To bring on, on them, (a shower of) stones of clay (brimstone), |
Musawwamatan `Inda Rabbika Lilmusrifīna | 051.034 "Marked as from thy Lord for those who trespass beyond bounds." |
Fa'akhrajnā Man Kāna Fīhā Mina Al-Mu'uminīna | 051.035 Then We evacuated those of the Believers who were there, |
Famā Wajadnā Fīhā Ghayra Baytin Mina Al-Muslimīna | 051.036 But We found not there any just (Muslim) persons except in one house: |
Wa Taraknā Fīhā 'Āyatan Lilladhīna Yakhāfūna Al-`Adhāba Al-'Alīma | 051.037 And We left there a Sign for such as fear the Grievous Penalty. |
Wa Fī Mūsá 'Idh 'Arsalnāhu 'Ilá Fir`awna Bisulţānin Mubīnin | 051.038 And in Moses (was another Sign): Behold, We sent him to Pharaoh, with authority manifest. |
Fatawallá Biruknihi Wa Qāla Sāĥirun 'Aw Majnūnun | 051.039 But (Pharaoh) turned back with his Chiefs, and said, "A sorcerer, or one possessed!" |
Fa'akhadhnāhu Wa Junūdahu Fanabadhnāhum Fī Al-Yammi Wa Huwa Mulīmun | 051.040 So We took him and his forces, and threw them into the sea; and his was the blame. |
Wa Fī `Ādin 'Idh 'Arsalnā `Alayhimu Ar-Rīĥa Al-`Aqīma | 051.041 And in the 'Ad (people) (was another Sign): Behold, We sent against them the devastating Wind: |
Mā Tadharu Min Shay'in 'Atat `Alayhi 'Illā Ja`alat/hu Kālrramīmi | 051.042 It left nothing whatever that it came up against, but reduced it to ruin and rottenness. |
Wa Fī Thamūda 'Idh Qīla Lahum Tamatta`ū Ĥattá Ĥīnin | 051.043 And in the Thamud (was another Sign): Behold, they were told, "Enjoy (your brief day) for a little while!" |
Fa`ataw `An 'Amri Rabbihim Fa'akhadhat/humu Aş-Şā`iqatu Wa Hum Yanžurūna | 051.044 But they insolently defied the Command of their Lord: So the stunning noise (of an earthquake) seized them, even while they were looking on. |
Famā Astaţā`ū Min Qiyāmin Wa Mā Kānū Muntaşirīna | 051.045 Then they could not even stand (on their feet), nor could they help themselves. |
Wa Qawma Nūĥin Min Qablu 'Innahum Kānū Qawmāan Fāsiqīna | 051.046 So were the People of Noah before them for they wickedly transgressed. |
Wa As-Samā'a Banaynāhā Bi'ayydin Wa 'Innā Lamūsi`ūna | 051.047 With power and skill did We construct the Firmament: for it is We Who create the vastness of pace. |
Wa Al-'Arđa Farashnāhā Fani`ma Al-Māhidūna | 051.048 And We have spread out the (spacious) earth: How excellently We do spread out! |
Wa Min Kulli Shay'in Khalaqnā Zawjayni La`allakum Tadhakkarūna | 051.049 And of every thing We have created pairs: That ye may receive instruction. |
Fafirrū 'Ilá Al-Lahi 'Innī Lakum Minhu Nadhīrun Mubīnun | 051.050 Hasten ye then (at once) to God: I am from Him a Warner to you, clear and open! |
Wa Lā Taj`alū Ma`a Al-Lahi 'Ilahāan 'Ākhara 'Innī Lakum Minhu Nadhīrun Mubīnun | 051.051 And make not another an object of worship with God: I am from Him a Warner to you, clear and open! |
Kadhālika Mā 'Atá Al-Ladhīna Min Qablihim Min Rasūlin 'Illā Qālū Sāĥirun 'Aw Majnūnun | 051.052 Similarly, no apostle came to the Peoples before them, but they said (of him) in like manner, "A sorcerer, or one possessed"! |
'Atawāşaw Bihi Bal Hum Qawmun Ţāghūna | 051.053 Is this the legacy they have transmitted, one to another? Nay, they are themselves a people transgressing beyond bounds! |
Fatawalla `Anhum Famā 'Anta Bimalūmin | 051.054 So turn away from them: not thine is the blame. |
Wa Dhakkir Fa'inna Adh-Dhikrá Tanfa`u Al-Mu'uminīna | 051.055 But teach (thy Message) for teaching benefits the Believers. |
Wa Mā Khalaqtu Al-Jinna Wa Al-'Insa 'Illā Liya`budūni | 051.056 I have only created Jinns and men, that they may serve Me. |
Mā 'Urīdu Minhum Min Rizqin Wa Mā 'Urīdu 'An Yuţ`imūni | 051.057 No Sustenance do I require of them, nor do I require that they should feed Me. |
'Inna Al-Laha Huwa Ar-Razzāqu Dhū Al-Qūwati Al-Matīnu | 051.058 For God is He Who gives (all) Sustenance,- Lord of Power,- Steadfast (for ever). |
Fa'inna Lilladhīna Žalamū Dhanūbāan Mithla Dhanūbi 'Aşĥābihim Falā Yasta`jilūni | 051.059 For the Wrong-doers, their portion is like unto the portion of their fellows (of earlier generations): then let them not ask Me to hasten (that portion)! |
Fawaylun Lilladhīna Kafarū Min Yawmihimu Al-Ladhī Yū`adūna | 051.060 Woe, then, to the Unbelievers, on account of that Day of theirs which they have been promised! |
