Yā 'Ayyuhā Al-Muzzammilu | O you wrapped in garments (i.e. Prophet Muhammad SAW)! (Al-Muzzammil 73:1) |
Qumi Al-Layla 'Illā Qalīlāan | Stand (to pray) all night, except a little. (Al-Muzzammil 73:2) |
Nişfahu 'Aw Anquş Minhu Qalīlāan | Half of it, or a little less than that, (Al-Muzzammil 73:3) |
'Aw Zid `Alayhi Wa Rattili Al-Qur'āna Tartīlāan | Or a little more; and recite the Qur'ān (aloud) in a slow, (pleasant tone and) style. (Al-Muzzammil 73:4) |
'Innā Sanulqī `Alayka Qawlāan Thaqīlāan | Verily, We shall send down to you a weighty Word (i.e. obligations, legal laws, etc.). (Al-Muzzammil 73:5) |
'Inna Nāshi'ata Al-Layli Hiya 'Ashaddu Waţ'āan Wa 'Aqwamu Qīlāan | Verily, the rising by night (for Tahajjud prayer) is very hard and most potent and good for governing (the soul), and most suitable for (understanding) the Word (of Allāh). (Al-Muzzammil 73:6) |
'Inna Laka Fī Aalnnahāri Sabĥāan Ţawīlāan | Verily, there is for you by day prolonged occupation with ordinary duties, (Al-Muzzammil 73:7) |
Wa Adhkur Asma Rabbika Wa Tabattal 'Ilayhi Tabtīlāan | And remember the Name of your Lord and devote yourself to Him with a complete devotion. (Al-Muzzammil 73:8) |
Rabbu Al-Mashriqi Wa Al-Maghribi Lā 'Ilāha 'Illā Huwa Fa Attakhidh/hu Wa Kīlāan | (He Alone is) the Lord of the east and the west, Lā ilāha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He). So take Him Alone as Wakīl (Disposer of your affairs). (Al-Muzzammil 73:9) |
Wa Aşbir `Alá Mā Yaqūlūna Wa Ahjurhum Hajrāan Jamīlāan | And be patient (O Muhammad SAW) with what they say, and keep away from them in a good way. (Al-Muzzammil 73:10) |
Wa Dharnī Wa Al-Mukadhdhibīna 'Ūlī An-Na`mati Wa Mahhilhum Qalīlāan | And leave Me Alone to deal with the beliers (those who deny My Verses, etc.), and those who are in possession of good things of life. And give them respite for a little while. (Al-Muzzammil 73:11) |
'Inna Ladaynā 'Ankālāan Wa Jaĥīmāan | Verily, with Us are fetters (to bind them), and a raging Fire. (Al-Muzzammil 73:12) |
Wa Ţa`āmāan Dhā Ghuşşatin Wa `Adhābāan 'Alīmāan | And a food that chokes, and a painful torment. (Al-Muzzammil 73:13) |
Yawma Tarjufu Al-'Arđu Wa Al-Jibālu Wa Kānati Al-Jibālu Kathībāan Mahīlāan | On the Day when the earth and the mountains will be in violent shake, and the mountains will be a heap of sand poured out and flowing down. (Al-Muzzammil 73:14) |
'Innā 'Arsalnā 'Ilaykum Rasūlāan Shāhidāan `Alaykum Kamā 'Arsalnā 'Ilá Fir`awna Rasūlāan | Verily, We have sent to you (O men) a Messenger (Muhammad SAW) to be a witness over you, as We did send a Messenger [Mûsa (Moses)] to Fir'aun (Pharaoh). (Al-Muzzammil 73:15) |
Fa`aşá Fir`awnu Ar-Rasūla Fa'akhadhnāhu 'Akhdhāan Wabīlāan | But Fir'aun (Pharaoh) disobeyed the Messenger [Mûsa (Moses)], so We seized him with a severe punishment. (Al-Muzzammil 73:16) |
Fakayfa Tattaqūna 'In Kafartum Yawmāan Yaj`alu Al-Wildāna Shībāan | Then how can you avoid the punishment, if you disbelieve, on a Day that will make the children grey-headed (i.e. the Day of Resurrection)? (Al-Muzzammil 73:17) |
As-Samā'u Munfaţirun Bihi Kāna Wa`duhu Maf`ūlāan | Whereon the heaven will be cleft asunder? His Promise is certainly to be accomplished. (Al-Muzzammil 73:18) |
'Inna Hadhihi Tadhkiratun Faman Shā'a Attakhadha 'Ilá Rabbihi Sabīlāan | Verily, this is an admonition, therefore whosoever will, let him take a Path to His Lord! (Al-Muzzammil 73:19) |
'Inna Rabbaka Ya`lamu 'Annaka Taqūmu 'Adná Min Thuluthayi Al-Layli Wa Nişfahu Wa Thuluthahu Wa Ţā'ifatun Mina Al-Ladhīna Ma`aka Wa Allāhu Yuqaddiru Al-Layla Wa An-Nahāra `Alima 'An Lan Tuĥşūhu Fatāba `Alaykum Fāqra'ū Mā Tayassara Mina Al-Qur'āni `Alima 'An Sayakūnu Minkum Marđá Wa 'Ākharūna Yađribūna Fī Al-'Arđi Yabtaghūna Min Fađli Al-Lahi Wa 'Ākharūna Yuqātilūna Fī Sabīli Al-Lahi Fāqra'ū Mā Tayassara Minhu Wa 'Aqīmū Aş-Şalāata Wa 'Ātū Az-Zakāata Wa 'Aqriđū Al-Laha Qarđāan Ĥasanāan Wa Mā Tuqaddimū Li'nfusikum Min Khayrin Tajidūhu `Inda Al-Lahi Huwa Khayrāan Wa 'A`žama 'Ajrāan Wa Astaghfirū Al-Laha 'Inna Al-Laha Ghafūrun Raĥīmun | Verily, your Lord knows that you do stand (to pray at night) a little less than two-thirds of the night, or half the night, or a third of the night, and so do a party of those with you, And Allāh measures the night and the day. He knows that you are unable to pray the whole night, so He has turned to you (in mercy). So, recite you of the Qur'ān as much as may be easy for you. He knows that there will be some among you sick, others travelling through the land, seeking of Allāh's Bounty; yet others fighting in Allāh's Cause. So recite as much of the Qur'ān as may be easy (for you), and perform As-Salāt (Iqāmat-as-Salāt) and give Zakāt, and lend to Allāh a goodly loan, and whatever good you send before you for yourselves, (i.e. Nawāfil non-obligatory acts of worship: prayers, charity, fasting, Hajj and 'Umrah, etc.), you will certainly find it with Allāh, better and greater in reward. And seek Forgiveness of Allāh. Verily, Allāh is Oft-Forgiving, Most-Merciful. (Al-Muzzammil 73:20) |
