Aqtarabati As-Sā`atu Wa Anshaqqa Al-Qamaru | The Hour has drawn near, and the moon has been cleft asunder (the people of Makkah requested Prophet Muhammad SAW to show them a miracle, so he showed them the splitting of the moon). (Al-Qamar 54:1) |
Wa 'In Yaraw 'Āyatan Yu`riđū Wa Yaqūlū Siĥrun Mustamirrun | And if they see a sign, they turn away, and say: "This is continuous magic." (Al-Qamar 54:2) |
Wa Kadhdhabū Wa Attaba`ū 'Ahwā'ahum Wa Kullu 'Amrin Mustaqirrun | They belied (the Verses of Allāh, this Qur'ān), and followed their own lusts. And every matter will be settled [according to the kind of deeds (for the doer of good deeds, his deeds will take him to Paradise, and similarly evil deeds will take their doers to Hell)]. (Al-Qamar 54:3) |
Wa Laqad Jā'ahum Mina Al-'Anbā'i Mā Fīhi Muzdajarun | And indeed there has come to them news (in this Qur'ān) wherein there is (enough warning) to check (them from evil), (Al-Qamar 54:4) |
Ĥikmatun Bālighatun Famā Tughni An-Nudhuru | Perfect wisdom (this Qur'ān), but (the preaching of) warners benefit them not, (Al-Qamar 54:5) |
Fatawalla `Anhum Yawma Yad`u Ad-Dā`i 'Ilá Shay'in Nukurin | So (O Muhammad SAW) withdraw from them. The Day that the caller will call (them) to a terrible thing. (Al-Qamar 54:6) |
Khushsha`āan 'Abşāruhum Yakhrujūna Mina Al-'Ajdāthi Ka'annahum Jarādun Muntashirun | They will come forth, with humbled eyes from (their) graves as if they were locusts spread abroad, (Al-Qamar 54:7) |
Muhţi`īna 'Ilá Ad-Dā`i Yaqūlu Al-Kāfirūna Hādhā Yawmun `Asirun | Hastening towards the caller, the disbelievers will say: "This is a hard Day." (Al-Qamar 54:8) |
Kadhdhabat Qablahum Qawmu Nūĥin Fakadhdhabū `Abdanā Wa Qālū Majnūnun Wa Azdujira | The people of Nûh (Noah) denied (their Messenger) before them, they rejected Our slave, and said: "A madman!" and he was insolently rebuked and threatened. (Al-Qamar 54:9) |
Fada`ā Rabbahu 'Annī Maghlūbun Fāntaşir | Then he invoked his Lord (saying): "I have been overcome, so help (me)!" (Al-Qamar 54:10) |
Fafataĥnā 'Abwāba As-Samā'i Bimā'in Munhamirin | So We opened the gates of heaven with water pouring forth. (Al-Qamar 54:11) |
Wa Fajjarnā Al-'Arđa `Uyūnāan Fāltaqá Al-Mā'u `Alá 'Amrin Qad Qudira | And We caused the earth to gush forth with springs. So the waters (of the heaven and the earth) met for a matter predestined. (Al-Qamar 54:12) |
Wa Ĥamalnāhu `Alá Dhāti 'Alwāĥin Wa Dusurin | And We carried him on a (ship) made of planks and nails, (Al-Qamar 54:13) |
Tajrī Bi'a`yuninā Jazā'an Liman Kāna Kufira | Floating under Our Eyes, a reward for him who had been rejected! (Al-Qamar 54:14) |
Wa Laqad Taraknāhā 'Āyatan Fahal Min Muddakirin | And indeed, We have left this as a sign, then is there any that will remember (or receive admonition)? (Al-Qamar 54:15) |
Fakayfa Kāna `Adhābī Wa Nudhuri | Then how (terrible) was My Torment and My Warnings? (Al-Qamar 54:16) |
Wa Laqad Yassarnā Al-Qur'āna Lildhdhikri Fahal Min Muddakirin | And We have indeed made the Qur'ān easy to understand and remember, then is there any that will remember (or receive admonition)? (Al-Qamar 54:17) |
Kadhdhabat `Ādun Fakayfa Kāna `Adhābī Wa Nudhuri | 'Ad (people) belied (their Prophet, Hûd), then how (terrible) was My Torment and My Warnings? (Al-Qamar 54:18) |
'Innā 'Arsalnā `Alayhim Rīĥāan Şarşarāan Fī Yawmi Naĥsin Mustamirrin | Verily, We sent against them a furious wind of harsh voice on a day of evil omen and continuous calamity. (Al-Qamar 54:19) |
Tanzi`u An-Nāsa Ka'annahum 'A`jāzu Nakhlin Munqa`irin | Plucking out men as if they were uprooted stems of date-palms. (Al-Qamar 54:20) |
Fakayfa Kāna `Adhābī Wa Nudhuri | Then, how (terrible) was My Torment and My Warnings? (Al-Qamar 54:21) |
Wa Laqad Yassarnā Al-Qur'āna Lildhdhikri Fahal Min Muddakirin | And We have indeed made the Qur'ān easy to understand and remember, then is there any that will remember (or receive admonition)? (Al-Qamar 54:22) |
Kadhdhabat Thamūdu Bin-Nudhuri | Thamûd (people also) belied the warnings. (Al-Qamar 54:23) |
Faqālū 'Abasharāan Minnā Wāĥidāan Nattabi`uhu 'Innā 'Idhāan Lafī Đalālin Wa Su`urin | For they said: "A man! Alone from among us, that we are to follow? Truly, then we should be in error and distress or madness!" (Al-Qamar 54:24) |
'A'uulqiya Adh-Dhikru `Alayhi Min Bayninā Bal Huwa Kadhdhābun 'Ashirun | "Is it that the Reminder is sent to him [Prophet Sālih (Saleh)] alone from among us? Nay, he is an insolent liar!" (Al-Qamar 54:25) |
Saya`lamūna Ghadāan Mani Al-Kadhdhābu Al-'Ashiru | Tomorrow they will come to know, who is the liar, the insolent one! (Al-Qamar 54:26) |
'Innā Mursilū An-Nāqati Fitnatan Lahum Fārtaqibhum Wa Aşţabir | Verily, We are sending the she-camel as a test for them. So watch them [O Sālih (Saleh)], and be patient! (Al-Qamar 54:27) |
Wa Nabbi'hum 'Anna Al-Mā'a Qismatun Baynahum Kullu Shirbin Muĥtađarun | And inform them that the water is to be shared between (her and) them. Each one's right to drink being established (by turns). (Al-Qamar 54:28) |
Fanādaw Şāĥibahum Fata`āţá Fa`aqara | But they called their comrade and he took (a sword) and killed (her). (Al-Qamar 54:29) |
Fakayfa Kāna `Adhābī Wa Nudhuri | Then, how (terrible) was My Torment and My Warnings? (Al-Qamar 54:30) |
'Innā 'Arsalnā `Alayhim Şayĥatan Wāĥidatan Fakānū Kahashīmi Al-Muĥtažiri | Verily, We sent against them a single Saīhah (torment - awful cry, etc.), and they became like the dry stubble of a fold-builder. (Al-Qamar 54:31) |
Wa Laqad Yassarnā Al-Qur'āna Lildhdhikri Fahal Min Muddakirin | And indeed, We have made the Qur'ān easy to understand and remember, then is there any that will remember (or receive admonition)? (Al-Qamar 54:32) |
Kadhdhabat Qawmu Lūţin Bin-Nudhuri | The people of Lout (Lot) belied the warnings. (Al-Qamar 54:33) |
'Innā 'Arsalnā `Alayhim Ĥāşibāan 'Illā 'Āla Lūţin Najjaynāhum Bisaĥarin | Verily, We sent against them a violent storm of stones (which destroyed them all), except the family of Lout (Lot), whom We saved in last hour of the night, (Al-Qamar 54:34) |
Ni`matan Min `Indinā Kadhālika Najzī Man Shakara | As a Favour from Us, thus do We reward him who gives thanks (by obeying Us). (Al-Qamar 54:35) |
Wa Laqad 'Andharahum Baţshatanā Fatamāraw Bin-Nudhuri | And he [Lout (Lot)] indeed had warned them of Our Grasp, but they did doubt the warnings! (Al-Qamar 54:36) |
Wa Laqad Rāwadūhu `An Đayfihi Faţamasnā 'A`yunahum Fadhūqū `Adhābī Wa Nudhuri | And they indeed sought to shame his guest (by asking to commit sodomy with them). So We blinded their eyes, "Then taste you My Torment and My Warnings." (Al-Qamar 54:37) |
Wa Laqad Şabbaĥahum Bukratan `Adhābun Mustaqirrun | And verily, an abiding torment seized them early in the morning. (Al-Qamar 54:38) |
Fadhūqū `Adhābī Wa Nudhuri | "Then taste you My Torment and My Warnings." (Al-Qamar 54:39) |
Wa Laqad Yassarnā Al-Qur'āna Lildhdhikri Fahal Min Muddakirin | And indeed, We have made the Qur'ān easy to understand and remember, then is there any that will remember (or receive admonition)? (Al-Qamar 54:40) |
Wa Laqad Jā'a 'Āla Fir`awna An-Nudhuru | And indeed, warnings came to the people of Fir'aun (Pharaoh) [through Mûsa (Moses) and Hārûn (Aaron)]. (Al-Qamar 54:41) |
Kadhdhabū Bi'āyātinā Kullihā Fa'akhadhnāhum 'Akhdha `Azīzin Muqtadirin | (They) belied all Our Signs, so We seized them with a Seizure of the All-Mighty, All-Capable to carry out what he Will (Omnipotent). (Al-Qamar 54:42) |
'Akuffārukum Khayrun Min 'Ūla'ikum 'Am Lakum Barā'atun Fī Az-Zuburi | Are your disbelievers (O Quraish!) better than these [nations of Nûh (Noah), Lout (Lot), Sālih (Saleh), and the people of Fir'aun (Pharaoh), etc., who were destroyed)? Or have you an immunity (against Our Torment) in the Divine Scriptures? (Al-Qamar 54:43) |
'Am Yaqūlūna Naĥnu Jamī`un Muntaşirun | Or do they say: "We are a great multitude, and we shall be victorious.?" (Al-Qamar 54:44) |
Sayuhzamu Al-Jam`u Wa Yuwallūna Ad-Dubura | Their multitude will be put to flight, and they will show their backs. (Al-Qamar 54:45) |
Bali As-Sā`atu Maw`iduhum Wa As-Sā`atu 'Ad/há Wa 'Amarru | Nay, but the Hour is their appointed time (for their full recompense), and the Hour will be more grievous and more bitter. (Al-Qamar 54:46) |
'Inna Al-Mujrimīna Fī Đalālin Wa Su`urin | Verily, the Mujrimûn (polytheists, disbelievers, sinners, criminals, etc.) are in error (in this world) and will burn (in the Hell-fire in the Hereafter). (Al-Qamar 54:47) |
Yawma Yusĥabūna Fī An-Nāri `Alá Wujūhihim Dhūqū Massa Saqara | The Day they will be dragged in the Fire on their faces (it will be said to them): "Taste you the touch of Hell!" (Al-Qamar 54:48) |
'Innā Kulla Shay'in Khalaqnāhu Biqadarin | Verily, We have created all things with Qadar (Divine Preordainments of all things before their creation, as written in the Book of Decrees Al-Lauh Al-Mahfûz). (Al-Qamar 54:49) |
Wa Mā 'Amrunā 'Illā Wāĥidatun Kalamĥin Bil-Başari | And Our Commandment is but one, as the twinkling of an eye. (Al-Qamar 54:50) |
Wa Laqad 'Ahlaknā 'Ashyā`akum Fahal Min Muddakirin | And indeed, We have destroyed your likes, then is there any that will remember (or receive admonition)? (Al-Qamar 54:51) |
Wa Kullu Shay'in Fa`alūhu Fī Az-Zuburi | And each and everything they have done is noted in (their) Records (of deeds). (Al-Qamar 54:52) |
Wa Kullu Şaghīrin Wa Kabīrin Mustaţarun | And everything, small and big is written (in Al-Lauh Al-Mahfûz already beforehand i.e. before it befalls, or is done by its doer) (See the Qur'ān V.57:22). (Al-Qamar 54:53) |
'Inna Al-Muttaqīna Fī Jannātin Wa Naharin | Verily, The Muttaqûn (pious), will be in the midst of Gardens and Rivers (Paradise). (Al-Qamar 54:54) |
Fī Maq`adi Şidqin `Inda Malīkin Muqtadirin | In a seat of truth (i.e. Paradise), near the Omnipotent King (Allāh, the All-Blessed, the Most High, the Owner of Majesty and Honour). (Al-Qamar 54:55) |
