Ţā-Sīn-Mīm | TāSīnMīm. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Qur'ān, and none but Allāh (Alone) knows their meanings.] (Ash-Shu'ara 26:1) |
Tilka 'Āyātu Al-Kitābi Al-Mubīni | These are the Verses of the manifest Book [this Qur'ān, which was promised by Allāh in the Taurāt (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel), makes things clear]. (Ash-Shu'ara 26:2) |
La`allaka Bākhi`un Nafsaka 'Allā Yakūnū Mu'uminīna | It may be that you (O Muhammad SAW) are going to kill yourself with grief, that they do not become believers [in your Risalah (Messengership) and in your Message of Islāmic Monotheism]. (Ash-Shu'ara 26:3) |
'In Nasha' Nunazzil `Alayhim Mina As-Samā'i 'Āyatan Fažallat 'A`nāquhum Lahā Khāđi`īna | If We will, We could send down to them from the heaven a sign, to which they would bend their necks in humility. (Ash-Shu'ara 26:4) |
Wa Mā Ya'tīhim Min Dhikrin Mina Ar-Raĥmāni Muĥdathin 'Illā Kānū `Anhu Mu`riđīna | And never comes there unto them a Reminder as a recent revelation from the Most Beneficent (Allāh), but they turn away therefrom. (Ash-Shu'ara 26:5) |
Faqad Kadhdhabū Fasaya'tīhim 'Anbā'u Mā Kānū Bihi Yastahzi'ūn | So they have indeed denied (the truth this Qur'ān), then the news of what they mocked at, will come to them. (Ash-Shu'ara 26:6) |
'Awalam Yaraw 'Ilá Al-'Arđi Kam 'Anbatnā Fīhā Min Kulli Zawjin Karīmin | Do they not observe the earth, how much of every good kind We cause to grow therein? (Ash-Shu'ara 26:7) |
'Inna Fī Dhālika La'āyatan Wa Mā Kāna 'Aktharuhum Mu'uminīna | Verily, in this is an Ayāh (proof or sign), yet most of them (polytheists, pagans, etc., who do not believe in Resurrection) are not believers. (Ash-Shu'ara 26:8) |
Wa 'Inna Rabbaka Lahuwa Al-`Azīzu Ar-Raĥīmu | And verily, your Lord! He is truly the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. (Ash-Shu'ara 26:9) |
Wa 'Idh Nādá Rabbuka Mūsá 'Ani A'ti Al-Qawma Až-Žālimīna | And (remember) when your Lord called Mûsa (Moses) (saying): "Go to the people who are Zālimûn (polytheists and wrong-doing), (Ash-Shu'ara 26:10) |
Qawma Fir`awna 'Alā Yattaqūna | The people of Fir'aun (Pharaoh). Will they not fear Allāh and become righteous?" (Ash-Shu'ara 26:11) |
Qāla Rabbi 'Innī 'Akhāfu 'An Yukadhdhibūni | He said: "My Lord! Verily, I fear that they will belie me, (Ash-Shu'ara 26:12) |
Wa Yađīqu Şadrī Wa Lā Yanţaliqu Lisānī Fa'arsil 'Ilá Hārūna | "And my breast straitens, and my tongue expresses not well. So send for Hārûn (Aaron) (to come along with me). (Ash-Shu'ara 26:13) |
Wa Lahum `Alayya Dhanbun Fa'akhāfu 'An Yaqtulūni | "And they have a charge of crime against me, and I fear they will kill me." (Ash-Shu'ara 26:14) |
Qāla Kallā Fādh/habā Bi'āyātinā 'Innā Ma`akum Mustami`ūna | Allāh said: "Nay! Go you both with Our Signs. Verily! We shall be with you, listening. (Ash-Shu'ara 26:15) |
Fa'tiyā Fir`awna Faqūlā 'Innā Rasūlu Rabbi Al-`Ālamīna | "And when you both come to Fir'aun (Pharaoh), say: 'We are the Messengers of the Lord of the 'Alamīn (mankind, jinns and all that exists), (Ash-Shu'ara 26:16) |
'An 'Arsil Ma`anā Banī 'Isrā'īla | "So allow the Children of Israel to go with us.' " (Ash-Shu'ara 26:17) |
Qāla 'Alam Nurabbika Fīnā Walīdāan Wa Labithta Fīnā Min `Umurika Sinīna | [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] said [to Mûsa (Moses)]: "Did we not bring you up among us as a child? And you did dwell many years of your life with us. (Ash-Shu'ara 26:18) |
Wa Fa`alta Fa`lataka Allatī Fa`alta Wa 'Anta Mina Al-Kāfirīna | "And you did your deed, which you did (i.e. the crime of killing a man). And you are one of the ingrates." (Ash-Shu'ara 26:19) |
Qāla Fa`altuhā 'Idhāan Wa 'Anā Mina Ađ-Đāllīn | Mûsa (Moses) said: "I did it then, when I was an ignorant (as regards my Lord and His Message). (Ash-Shu'ara 26:20) |
Fafarartu Minkum Lammā Khiftukum Fawahaba Lī Rabbī Ĥukmāan Wa Ja`alanī Mina Al-Mursalīna | "So I fled from you when I feared you. But my Lord has granted me Hukman (i.e. religious knowledge, right judgement of the affairs and Prophethood), and appointed me as one of the Messengers. (Ash-Shu'ara 26:21) |
Wa Tilka Ni`matun Tamunnuhā `Alayya 'An `Abbadta Banī 'Isrā'īla | "And this is the past favour with which you reproach me, that you have enslaved the Children of Israel." (Ash-Shu'ara 26:22) |
Qāla Fir`awnu Wa Mā Rabbu Al-`Ālamīna | Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said: "And what is the Lord of the 'Alamīn (mankind, jinns and all that exists)?" (Ash-Shu'ara 26:23) |
Qāla Rabbu As-Samāwāti Wa Al-'Arđi Wa Mā Baynahumā 'In Kuntum Mūqinīna | Mûsa (Moses) said: "Lord of the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, if you seek to be convinced with certainty." (Ash-Shu'ara 26:24) |
Qāla Liman Ĥawlahu 'Alā Tastami`ūna | Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said to those around: "Do you not hear (what he says)?" (Ash-Shu'ara 26:25) |
Qāla Rabbukum Wa Rabbu 'Ābā'ikumu Al-'Awwalīna | Mûsa (Moses) said: "Your Lord and the Lord of your ancient fathers!" (Ash-Shu'ara 26:26) |
Qāla 'Inna Rasūlakumu Al-Ladhī 'Ursila 'Ilaykum Lamajnūnun | Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said: "Verily, your Messenger who has been sent to you is a madman!" (Ash-Shu'ara 26:27) |
Qāla Rabbu Al-Mashriqi Wa Al-Maghribi Wa Mā Baynahumā 'In Kuntum Ta`qilūna | Mûsa (Moses) said: "Lord of the east and the west, and all that is between them, if you did but understand!" (Ash-Shu'ara 26:28) |
Qāla La'ini Attakhadhta 'Ilahāan Ghayrī La'aj`alannaka Mina Al-Masjūnīna | Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said: "If you choose an ilāh (god) other than me, I will certainly put you among the prisoners." (Ash-Shu'ara 26:29) |
Qāla 'Awalaw Ji'tuka Bishay'in Mubīnin | Mûsa (Moses) said: "Even if I bring you something manifest (and convincing)?" (Ash-Shu'ara 26:30) |
Qāla Fa'ti Bihi 'In Kunta Mina Aş-Şādiqīna | Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said: "Bring it forth then, if you are of the truthful!" (Ash-Shu'ara 26:31) |
Fa'alqá `Aşāhu Fa'idhā Hiya Thu`bānun Mubīnun | So [Mûsa (Moses)] threw his stick, and behold, it was a serpent, manifest. (Ash-Shu'ara 26:32) |
Wa Naza`a Yadahu Fa'idhā Hiya Bayđā'u Lilnnāžirīna | And he drew out his hand, and behold, it was white to all beholders! (Ash-Shu'ara 26:33) |
Qāla Lilmala'i Ĥawlahu 'Inna Hādhā Lasāĥirun `Alīmun | [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] said to the chiefs around him: "Verily! This is indeed a well-versed sorcerer. (Ash-Shu'ara 26:34) |
Yurīdu 'An Yukhrijakum Min 'Arđikum Bisiĥrihi Famādhā Ta'murūna | "He wants to drive you out of your land by his sorcery, then what is it your counsel, and what do you command?" (Ash-Shu'ara 26:35) |
Qālū 'Arjihi Wa 'Akhāhu Wa Ab`ath Fī Al-Madā'ini Ĥāshirīna | They said: "Put him off and his brother (for a while), and send callers to the cities; (Ash-Shu'ara 26:36) |
Ya'tūka Bikulli Saĥĥārin `Alīmin | "To bring up to you every well-versed sorcerer." (Ash-Shu'ara 26:37) |
Fajumi`a As-Saĥaratu Limīqāti Yawmin Ma`lūmin | So the sorcerers were assembled at a fixed time on a day appointed. (Ash-Shu'ara 26:38) |
Wa Qīla Lilnnāsi Hal 'Antum Mujtami`ūna | And it was said to the people: "Are you (too) going to assemble? (Ash-Shu'ara 26:39) |
La`allanā Nattabi`u As-Saĥarata 'In Kānū Humu Al-Ghālibīna | "That we may follow the sorcerers [who were on Fir'aun's (Pharaoh) religion of disbelief] if they are the winners." (Ash-Shu'ara 26:40) |
Falammā Jā'a As-Saĥaratu Qālū Lifir`awna 'A'inna Lanā La'ajrāan 'In Kunnā Naĥnu Al-Ghālibīna | So when the sorcerers arrived, they said to Fir'aun (Pharaoh): "Will there surely be a reward for us if we are the winners?" (Ash-Shu'ara 26:41) |
Qāla Na`am Wa 'Innakum 'Idhāan Lamina Al-Muqarrabīna | He said: "Yes, and you shall then verily be of those brought near (to myself)." (Ash-Shu'ara 26:42) |
Qāla Lahum Mūsá 'Alqū Mā 'Antum Mulqūna | Mûsa (Moses) said to them: "Throw what you are going to throw!" (Ash-Shu'ara 26:43) |
Fa'alqaw Ĥibālahum Wa `Işīyahum Wa Qālū Bi`izzati Fir`awna 'Innā Lanaĥnu Al-Ghālibūna | So they threw their ropes and their sticks, and said: "By the might of Fir'aun (Pharaoh), it is we who will certainly win!" (Ash-Shu'ara 26:44) |
Fa'alqá Mūsá `Aşāhu Fa'idhā Hiya Talqafu Mā Ya'fikūna | Then Mûsa (Moses) threw his stick, and behold, it swallowed up all the falsehoods which they showed! (Ash-Shu'ara 26:45) |
Fa'ulqiya As-Saĥaratu Sājidīna | And the sorcerers fell down prostrate. (Ash-Shu'ara 26:46) |
Qālū 'Āmannā Birabbi Al-`Ālamīna | Saying: "We believe in the Lord of the 'Alamīn (mankind, jinns and all that exists). (Ash-Shu'ara 26:47) |
Rabbi Mūsá Wa Hārūna | "The Lord of Mûsa (Moses) and Hārûn (Aaron)." (Ash-Shu'ara 26:48) |
Qāla 'Āmantum Lahu Qabla 'An 'Ādhana Lakum 'Innahu Lakabīrukumu Al-Ladhī `Allamakumu As-Siĥra Falasawfa Ta`lamūna La'uqaţţi`anna 'Aydiyakum Wa 'Arjulakum Min Khilāfin Wa La'uşallibannakum 'Ajma`īna | [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] said: "You have believed in him before I give you leave. Surely, he indeed is your chief, who has taught you magic! So verily, you shall come to know. Verily, I will cut off your hands and your feet on opposite sides, and I will crucify you all." (Ash-Shu'ara 26:49) |
Qālū Lā Đayra 'Innā 'Ilá Rabbinā Munqalibūna | They said: "No harm! Surely, to our Lord (Allāh) we are to return; (Ash-Shu'ara 26:50) |
'Innā Naţma`u 'An Yaghfira Lanā Rabbunā Khaţāyānā 'An Kunnā 'Awwala Al-Mu'uminīna | "Verily! We really hope that our Lord will forgive us our sins, as we are the first of the believers [in Mûsa (Moses) and in the Monotheism which he has brought from Allāh]." (Ash-Shu'ara 26:51) |
Wa 'Awĥaynā 'Ilá Mūsá 'An 'Asri Bi`ibādī 'Innakum Muttaba`ūna | And We inspired Mûsa (Moses), saying: "Take away My slaves by night, verily, you will be pursued." (Ash-Shu'ara 26:52) |
Fa'arsala Fir`awnu Fī Al-Madā'ini Ĥāshirīna | Then Fir'aun (Pharaoh) sent callers to (all) the cities. (Ash-Shu'ara 26:53) |
'Inna Hā'uulā' Lashirdhimatun Qalīlūna | (Saying): "Verily! These indeed are but a small band. (Ash-Shu'ara 26:54) |
Wa 'Innahum Lanā Laghā'ižūna | "And verily, they have done what has enraged us; (Ash-Shu'ara 26:55) |
Wa 'Innā Lajamī`un Ĥādhirūna | "But we are host all assembled, amply fore-warned." (Ash-Shu'ara 26:56) |
Fa'akhrajnāhum Min Jannātin Wa `Uyūnin | So, We expelled them from gardens and springs, (Ash-Shu'ara 26:57) |
Wa Kunūzin Wa Maqāmin Karīmin | Treasures, and every kind of honourable place. (Ash-Shu'ara 26:58) |
Kadhālika Wa 'Awrathnāhā Banī 'Isrā'īla | Thus [We turned them (Pharaoh's people) out] and We caused the Children of Israel to inherit them. (Ash-Shu'ara 26:59) |
Fa'atba`ūhum Mushriqīna | So they pursued them at sunrise. (Ash-Shu'ara 26:60) |
Falammā Tarā'á Al-Jam`āni Qāla 'Aşĥābu Mūsá 'Innā Lamudrakūna | And when the two hosts saw each other, the companions of Mûsa (Moses) said: "We are sure to be overtaken." (Ash-Shu'ara 26:61) |
Qāla Kallā 'Inna Ma`iya Rabbī Sayahdīni | [Mûsa (Moses)] said: "Nay, verily! With me is my Lord, He will guide me." (Ash-Shu'ara 26:62) |
Fa'awĥaynā 'Ilá Mūsá 'Ani Ađrib Bi`aşāka Al-Baĥra Fānfalaqa Fakāna Kullu Firqin Kālţţawdi Al-`Ažīmi | Then We inspired Mûsa (Moses) (saying): "Strike the sea with your stick." And it parted, and each separate part (of that sea water) became like the huge, firm mass of a mountain. (Ash-Shu'ara 26:63) |
Wa 'Azlafnā Thamma Al-'Ākharīna | Then We brought near the others [Fir'aun's (Pharaoh) party] to that place. (Ash-Shu'ara 26:64) |
Wa 'Anjaynā Mūsá Wa Man Ma`ahu 'Ajma`īna | And We saved Mûsa (Moses) and all those with him. (Ash-Shu'ara 26:65) |
Thumma 'Aghraqnā Al-'Ākharīna | Then We drowned the others. (Ash-Shu'ara 26:66) |
'Inna Fī Dhālika La'āyatan Wa Mā Kāna 'Aktharuhum Mu'uminīna | Verily! In this is indeed a sign (or a proof), yet most of them are not believers. (Ash-Shu'ara 26:67) |
Wa 'Inna Rabbaka Lahuwa Al-`Azīzu Ar-Raĥīmu | And verily, your Lord! He is truly the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. (Ash-Shu'ara 26:68) |
Wa Atlu `Alayhim Naba'a 'Ibrāhīma | And recite to them the story of Ibrāhim (Abraham). (Ash-Shu'ara 26:69) |
'Idh Qāla Li'abīhi Wa Qawmihi Mā Ta`budūna | When he said to his father and his people: "What do you worship?" (Ash-Shu'ara 26:70) |
Qālū Na`budu 'Aşnāmāan Fanažallu Lahā `Ākifīna | They said: "We worship idols, and to them we are ever devoted." (Ash-Shu'ara 26:71) |
Qāla Hal Yasma`ūnakum 'Idh Tad`ūna | He said: "Do they hear you, when you call (on them)? (Ash-Shu'ara 26:72) |
'Aw Yanfa`ūnakum 'Aw Yađurrūna | "Or do they benefit you or do they harm (you)?" (Ash-Shu'ara 26:73) |
Qālū Bal Wajadnā 'Ābā'anā Kadhālika Yaf`alūna | They said: "Nay, but we found our fathers doing so." (Ash-Shu'ara 26:74) |
Qāla 'Afara'aytum Mā Kuntum Ta`budūna | He said: "Do you observe that which you have been worshipping, (Ash-Shu'ara 26:75) |
'Antum Wa 'Ābā'uukumu Al-'Aqdamūna | "You and your ancient fathers? (Ash-Shu'ara 26:76) |
Fa'innahum `Adūwun Lī 'Illā Rabba Al-`Ālamīna | "Verily! They are enemies to me, save the Lord of the 'Alamīn (mankind, jinns and all that exists); (Ash-Shu'ara 26:77) |
Al-Ladhī Khalaqanī Fahuwa Yahdīni | "Who has created me, and it is He Who guides me; (Ash-Shu'ara 26:78) |
Wa Al-Ladhī Huwa Yuţ`imunī Wa Yasqīni | "And it is He Who feeds me and gives me to drink. (Ash-Shu'ara 26:79) |
Wa 'Idhā Mariđtu Fahuwa Yashfīni | "And when I am ill, it is He who cures me; (Ash-Shu'ara 26:80) |
Wa Al-Ladhī Yumītunī Thumma Yuĥyīni | "And Who will cause me to die, and then will bring me to life (again); (Ash-Shu'ara 26:81) |
Wa Al-Ladhī 'Aţma`u 'An Yaghfira Lī Khaţī'atī Yawma Ad-Dīni | "And Who, I hope will forgive me my faults on the Day of Recompense, (the Day of Resurrection)," (Ash-Shu'ara 26:82) |
Rabbi Hab Lī Ĥukmāan Wa 'Alĥiqnī Biş-Şāliĥīna | My Lord! Bestow Hukman (religious knowledge, right judgement of the affairs and Prophethood) on me, and join me with the righteous; (Ash-Shu'ara 26:83) |
Wa Aj`al Lī Lisāna Şidqin Fī Al-'Ākhirīna | And grant me an honourable mention in later generations; (Ash-Shu'ara 26:84) |
Wa Aj`alnī Min Warathati Jannati An-Na`īmi | And make me one of the inheritors of the Paradise of Delight; (Ash-Shu'ara 26:85) |
Wa Aghfir Li'abī 'Innahu Kāna Mina Ađ-Đāllīna | And forgive my father, verily he is of the erring; (Ash-Shu'ara 26:86) |
Wa Lā Tukhzinī Yawma Yub`athūna | And disgrace me not on the Day when (all the creatures) will be resurrected; (Ash-Shu'ara 26:87) |
Yawma Lā Yanfa`u Mālun Wa Lā Banūna | The Day whereon neither wealth nor sons will avail, (Ash-Shu'ara 26:88) |
'Illā Man 'Atá Al-Laha Biqalbin Salīmin | Except him who brings to Allāh a clean heart [clean from Shirk (polytheism) and Nifāq (hypocrisy)]. (Ash-Shu'ara 26:89) |
Wa 'Uzlifati Al-Jannatu Lilmuttaqīna | And Paradise will be brought near to the Muttaqûn (pious - see V.2:2). (Ash-Shu'ara 26:90) |
Wa Burrizati Al-Jaĥīmu Lilghāwīna | And the (Hell) Fire will be placed in full view of the erring. (Ash-Shu'ara 26:91) |
Wa Qīla Lahum 'Ayna Mā Kuntum Ta`budūna | And it will be said to them: "Where are those (the false gods whom you used to set up as rivals with Allāh) that you used to worship (Ash-Shu'ara 26:92) |
Min Dūni Al-Lahi Hal Yanşurūnakum 'Aw Yantaşirūna | "Instead of Allāh? Can they help you or (even) help themselves?" (Ash-Shu'ara 26:93) |
Fakubkibū Fīhā Hum Wa Al-Ghāwūna | Then they will be thrown on their faces into the (Fire), They and the Ghāwûn (devils, and those who were in error). (Ash-Shu'ara 26:94) |
Wa Junūdu 'Iblīsa 'Ajma`ūna | And the whole hosts of Iblīs (Satan) together. (Ash-Shu'ara 26:95) |
Qālū Wa Hum Fīhā Yakhtaşimūna | They will say while contending therein, (Ash-Shu'ara 26:96) |
Ta-Allāhi 'In Kunnā Lafī Đalālin Mubīnin | By Allāh, we were truly in a manifest error, (Ash-Shu'ara 26:97) |
'Idh Nusawwīkum Birabbi Al-`Ālamīna | When We held you (false gods) as equals (in worship) with the Lord of the 'Alamīn (mankind, jinns and all that exists); (Ash-Shu'ara 26:98) |
Wa Mā 'Ađallanā 'Illā Al-Mujrimūna | And none has brought us into error except the Mujrimûn [Iblīs (Satan) and those of human beings who commit crimes, murderers, polytheists, oppressors, etc.]. (Ash-Shu'ara 26:99) |
Famā Lanā Min Shāfi`īna | Now we have no intercessors, (Ash-Shu'ara 26:100) |
Wa Lā Şadīqin Ĥamīmin | Nor a close friend (to help us). (Ash-Shu'ara 26:101) |
Falaw 'Anna Lanā Karratan Fanakūna Mina Al-Mu'uminīna | (Alas!) If we only had a chance to return (to the world), we shall truly be among the believers! (Ash-Shu'ara 26:102) |
'Inna Fī Dhālika La'āyatan Wa Mā Kāna 'Aktharuhum Mu'uminīna | Verily! In this is indeed a sign, yet most of them are not believers. (Ash-Shu'ara 26:103) |

Kadhdhabat Qawmu Nūĥin Al-Mursalīna | The people of Nûh (Noah) belied the Messengers. (Ash-Shu'ara 26:105) |
'Idh Qāla Lahum 'Akhūhum Nūĥun 'Alā Tattaqūna | When their brother Nûh (Noah) said to them: "Will you not fear Allāh and obey Him? (Ash-Shu'ara 26:106) |
'Innī Lakum Rasūlun 'Amīnun | "I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. (Ash-Shu'ara 26:107) |
Fāttaqū Al-Laha Wa 'Aţī`ūni | "So fear Allāh, keep your duty to Him, and obey me. (Ash-Shu'ara 26:108) |
Wa Mā 'As'alukum `Alayhi Min 'Ajrin 'In 'Ajrī 'Illā `Alá Rabbi Al-`Ālamīna | "No reward do I ask of you for it (my Message of Islāmic Monotheism), my reward is only from the Lord of the 'Alamīn (mankind, jinns and all that exists). (Ash-Shu'ara 26:109) |
Fāttaqū Al-Laha Wa 'Aţī`ūni | "So keep your duty to Allāh, fear Him and obey me." (Ash-Shu'ara 26:110) |
Qālū 'Anu'uminu Laka Wa Attaba`aka Al-'Ardhalūna | They said: "Shall we believe in you, when the meanest (of the people) follow you?" (Ash-Shu'ara 26:111) |
Qāla Wa Mā `Ilmī Bimā Kānū Ya`malūna | He said: "And what knowledge have I of what they used to do? (Ash-Shu'ara 26:112) |
'In Ĥisābuhum 'Illā `Alá Rabbī Law Tash`urūna | "Their account is only with my Lord, if you could (but) know. (Ash-Shu'ara 26:113) |
Wa Mā 'Anā Biţāridi Al-Mu'uminīna | "And I am not going to drive away the believers. (Ash-Shu'ara 26:114) |
'In 'Anā 'Illā Nadhīrun Mubīnun | I am only a plain warner." (Ash-Shu'ara 26:115) |
Qālū La'in Lam Tantahi Yā Nūĥu Latakūnanna Mina Al-Marjūmīna | They said: "If you cease not, O Nûh (Noah)! You will surely be among those stoned (to death)." (Ash-Shu'ara 26:116) |
Qāla Rabbi 'Inna Qawmī Kadhdhabūni | He said: "My Lord! Verily, my people have belied me. (Ash-Shu'ara 26:117) |
Fāftaĥ Baynī Wa Baynahum Fatĥāan Wa Najjinī Wa Man Ma`ī Mina Al-Mu'uminīna | Therefore judge You between me and them, and save me and those of the believers who are with me." (Ash-Shu'ara 26:118) |
Fa'anjaynāhu Wa Man Ma`ahu Fī Al-Fulki Al-Mashĥūni | And We saved him and those with him in the laden ship. (Ash-Shu'ara 26:119) |
Thumma 'Aghraqnā Ba`du Al-Bāqīna | Then We drowned the rest (disbelievers) thereafter. (Ash-Shu'ara 26:120) |
'Inna Fī Dhālika La'āyatan Wa Mā Kāna 'Aktharuhum Mu'uminīna | Verily, in this is indeed a sign, yet most of them are not believers. (Ash-Shu'ara 26:121) |
Wa 'Inna Rabbaka Lahuwa Al-`Azīzu Ar-Raĥīmu | And verily! Your Lord, He is indeed the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. (Ash-Shu'ara 26:122) |
Kadhdhabat `Ādun Al-Mursalīna | 'Ad (people) belied the Messengers. (Ash-Shu'ara 26:123) |
'Idh Qāla Lahum 'Akhūhum Hūdun 'Alā Tattaqūna | When their brother Hûd said to them: "Will you not fear Allāh and obey Him? (Ash-Shu'ara 26:124) |
'Innī Lakum Rasūlun 'Amīnun | "Verily! I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. (Ash-Shu'ara 26:125) |
Fāttaqū Al-Laha Wa 'Aţī`ūni | "So fear Allāh, keep your duty to Him, and obey me. (Ash-Shu'ara 26:126) |
Wa Mā 'As'alukum `Alayhi Min 'Ajrin 'In 'Ajrī 'Illā `Alá Rabbi Al-`Ālamīna | "No reward do I ask of you for it (my Message of Islāmic Monotheism), my reward is only from the Lord of the 'Alamīn (mankind, jinns, and all that exists). (Ash-Shu'ara 26:127) |
'Atabnūna Bikulli Rī`in 'Āyatan Ta`bathūna | "Do you build high palaces on every high place, while you do not live in them? (Ash-Shu'ara 26:128) |
Wa Tattakhidhūna Maşāni`a La`allakum Takhludūna | "And do you get for yourselves palaces (fine buildings) as if you will live therein for ever. (Ash-Shu'ara 26:129) |
Wa 'Idhā Baţashtum Baţashtum Jabbārīna | "And when you seize, seize you as tyrants? (Ash-Shu'ara 26:130) |
Fāttaqū Al-Laha Wa 'Aţī`ūni | "So fear Allāh, keep your duty to Him, and obey me. (Ash-Shu'ara 26:131) |
Wa Attaqū Al-Ladhī 'Amaddakum Bimā Ta`lamūna | "And keep your duty to Him, fear Him Who has aided you with all (good things) that you know. (Ash-Shu'ara 26:132) |
'Amaddakum Bi'an`āmin Wa Banīna | "He has aided you with cattle and children. (Ash-Shu'ara 26:133) |
Wa Jannātin Wa `Uyūnin | "And gardens and springs. (Ash-Shu'ara 26:134) |
'Innī 'Akhāfu `Alaykum `Adhāba Yawmin `Ažīmin | "Verily, I fear for you the torment of a Great Day." (Ash-Shu'ara 26:135) |
Qālū Sawā'un `Alaynā 'Awa`ažta 'Am Lam Takun Mina Al-Wā`ižīna | They said: "It is the same to us whether you preach or be not of those who preach. (Ash-Shu'ara 26:136) |
'In Hādhā 'Illā Khuluqu Al-'Awwalīna | "This is no other than the false-tales and religion of the ancients, [Tafsir At-Tabarī, Vol.19, Page 97] (Ash-Shu'ara 26:137) |
Wa Mā Naĥnu Bimu`adhdhabīna | "And we are not going to be punished." (Ash-Shu'ara 26:138) |
Fakadhdhabūhu Fa'ahlaknāhum 'Inna Fī Dhālika La'āyatan Wa Mā Kāna 'Aktharuhum Mu'uminīna | So they belied him, and We destroyed them. Verily! In this is indeed a sign, yet most of them are not believers. (Ash-Shu'ara 26:139) |

Wa Lā Tuţī`ū 'Amra Al-Musrifīna | "And follow not the command of Al-Musrifûn [i.e. their chiefs, leaders who were polytheists, criminals and sinners], (Ash-Shu'ara 26:151) |
Al-Ladhīna Yufsidūna Fī Al-'Arđi Wa Lā Yuşliĥūna | "Who make mischief in the land, and reform not." (Ash-Shu'ara 26:152) |
Qālū 'Innamā 'Anta Mina Al-Musaĥĥarīna | They said: "You are only of those bewitched! (Ash-Shu'ara 26:153) |
Mā 'Anta 'Illā Basharun Mithlunā Fa'ti Bi'āyatin 'In Kunta Mina Aş-Şādiqīna | "You are but a human being like us. Then bring us a sign if you are of the truthful." (Ash-Shu'ara 26:154) |
Qāla Hadhihi Nāqatun Lahā Shirbun Wa Lakum Shirbu Yawmin Ma`lūmin | He said: "Here is a she-camel; it has a right to drink (water), and you have a right to drink (water) (each) on a day, known. (Ash-Shu'ara 26:155) |
Wa Lā Tamassūhā Bisū'in Faya'khudhakum `Adhābu Yawmin `Ažīmin | "And touch her not with harm, lest the torment of a Great Day seize you." (Ash-Shu'ara 26:156) |
Fa`aqarūhā Fa'aşbaĥū Nādimīna | But they killed her, and then they became regretful. (Ash-Shu'ara 26:157) |
Fa'akhadhahumu Al-`Adhābu 'Inna Fī Dhālika La'āyatan Wa Mā Kāna 'Aktharuhum Mu'uminīna | So the torment overtook them. Verily, in this is indeed a sign, yet most of them are not believers. (Ash-Shu'ara 26:158) |

Kadhdhabat Qawmu Lūţin Al-Mursalīna | The prople of Lout (Lot) (those dwelt in the towns of Sodom in Palestine) belied the Messengers (Ash-Shu'ara 26:160) |

Wa Tadharūna Mā Khalaqa Lakum Rabbukum Min 'Azwājikum Bal 'Antum Qawmun `Ādūna | "And leave those whom Allāh has created for you to be your wives? Nay, you are a trespassing people!" (Ash-Shu'ara 26:166) |
Qālū La'in Lam Tantahi Yā Lūţu Latakūnanna Mina Al-Mukhrajīna | They said: "If you cease not. O Lout (Lot)! Verily, you will be one of those who are driven out!" (Ash-Shu'ara 26:167) |
Qāla 'Innī Li`amalikum Mina Al-Qālīna | He said: "I am, indeed, of those who disapprove with severe anger and fury your (this evil) action (of sodomy). (Ash-Shu'ara 26:168) |
Rabbi Najjinī Wa 'Ahlī Mimmā Ya`malūna | "My Lord! Save me and my family from what they do." (Ash-Shu'ara 26:169) |
Fanajjaynāhu Wa 'Ahlahu 'Ajma`īna | So We saved him and his family, all, (Ash-Shu'ara 26:170) |
'Illā `Ajūzāan Fī Al-Ghābirīna | Except an old woman (his wife) among those who remained behind. (Ash-Shu'ara 26:171) |
Thumma Dammarnā Al-'Ākharīna | Then afterward We destroyed the others. (Ash-Shu'ara 26:172) |
Wa 'Amţarnā `Alayhim Maţarāan Fasā'a Maţaru Al-Mundharīna | And We rained on them a rain (of torment). And how evil was the rain of those who had been warned. (Ash-Shu'ara 26:173) |

Wa Lā Tabkhasū An-Nāsa 'Ashyā'ahum Wa Lā Ta`thaw Fī Al-'Arđi Mufsidīna | "And defraud not people by reducing their things, nor do evil, making corruption and mischief in the land. (Ash-Shu'ara 26:183) |
Wa Attaqū Al-Ladhī Khalaqakum Wa Al-Jibillata Al-'Awwalīna | "And fear Him Who created you and the generations of the men of old." (Ash-Shu'ara 26:184) |
Qālū 'Innamā 'Anta Mina Al-Musaĥĥarīna | They said: "You are only one of those bewitched! (Ash-Shu'ara 26:185) |
Wa Mā 'Anta 'Illā Basharun Mithlunā Wa 'In Nažunnuka Lamina Al-Kādhibīna | "You are but a human being like us and verily, we think that you are one of the liars! (Ash-Shu'ara 26:186) |
Fa'asqiţ `Alaynā Kisafāan Mina As-Samā'i 'In Kunta Mina Aş-Şādiqīna | "So cause a piece of the heaven to fall on us, if you are of the truthful!" (Ash-Shu'ara 26:187) |
Qāla Rabbī 'A`lamu Bimā Ta`malūna | He said: "My Lord is the Best Knower of what you do." (Ash-Shu'ara 26:188) |
Fakadhdhabūhu Fa'akhadhahum `Adhābu Yawmi Až-Žullati 'Innahu Kāna `Adhāba Yawmin `Ažīmin | But they belied him, so the torment of the day of shadow (a gloomy cloud) seized them, indeed that was the torment of a Great Day. (Ash-Shu'ara 26:189) |
'Inna Fī Dhālika La'āyatan Wa Mā Kāna 'Aktharuhum Mu'uminīna | Verily, in this is indeed a sign, yet most of them are not believers. (Ash-Shu'ara 26:190) |

Wa 'Innahu Latanzīlu Rabbi Al-`Ālamīna | And truly, this (the Qur'ān) is a revelation from the Lord of the 'Alamīn (mankind, jinns and all that exists), (Ash-Shu'ara 26:192) |
Nazala Bihi Ar-Rūĥu Al-'Amīnu | Which the trustworthy Rûh [Jibrael (Gabriel)] has brought down; (Ash-Shu'ara 26:193) |
`Alá Qalbika Litakūna Mina Al-Mundhirīna | Upon your heart (O Muhammad SAW) that you may be (one) of the warners, (Ash-Shu'ara 26:194) |
Bilisānin `Arabīyin Mubīnin | In the plain Arabic language. (Ash-Shu'ara 26:195) |
Wa 'Innahu Lafī Zuburi Al-'Awwalīna | And verily, it (the Qur'ān, and its revelation to Prophet Muhammad SAW) is (announced) in the Scriptures [i.e. the Taurāt (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel)] of former people. (Ash-Shu'ara 26:196) |
'Awalam Yakun Lahum 'Āyatan 'An Ya`lamahu `Ulamā'u Banī 'Isrā'īla | Is it not a sign to them that the learned scholars (like 'Abdullāh bin Salām who embraced Islām) of the Children of Israel knew it (as true)? (Ash-Shu'ara 26:197) |
Wa Law Nazzalnāhu `Alá Ba`đi Al-'A`jamīna | And if We had revealed it (this Qur'ān) unto any of the non-Arabs, (Ash-Shu'ara 26:198) |
Faqara'ahu `Alayhim Mā Kānū Bihi Mu'uminīna | And he had recited it unto them, they would not have believed in it. (Ash-Shu'ara 26:199) |
Kadhālika Salaknāhu Fī Qulūbi Al-Mujrimīna | Thus have We caused it (the denial of the Qur'ān) to enter the hearts of the Mûjrimûn (criminals, polytheists, sinners, etc.). (Ash-Shu'ara 26:200) |
Lā Yu'uminūna Bihi Ĥattá Yaraw Al-`Adhāba Al-'Alīma | They will not believe in it until they see the painful torment; (Ash-Shu'ara 26:201) |
Faya'tiyahum Baghtatan Wa Hum Lā Yash`urūna | It shall come to them of a sudden, while they perceive it not; (Ash-Shu'ara 26:202) |
Fayaqūlū Hal Naĥnu Munžarūna | Then they will say: "Can we be respited?" (Ash-Shu'ara 26:203) |
'Afabi`adhābinā Yasta`jilūna | Would they then wish for Our Torment to be hastened on? (Ash-Shu'ara 26:204) |
'Afara'ayta 'In Matta`nāhum Sinīna | Tell Me, if We do let them enjoy for years, (Ash-Shu'ara 26:205) |
Thumma Jā'ahum Mā Kānū Yū`adūna | And afterwards comes to them that (punishment) which they had been promised! (Ash-Shu'ara 26:206) |
Mā 'Aghná `Anhum Mā Kānū Yumatta`ūna | All that with which they used to enjoy shall not avail them. (Ash-Shu'ara 26:207) |
Wa Mā 'Ahlaknā Min Qaryatin 'Illā Lahā Mundhirūna | And never did We destroy a township, but it had its warners (Ash-Shu'ara 26:208) |
Dhikrá Wa Mā Kunnā Žālimīna | By way of reminder, and We have never been unjust. (Ash-Shu'ara 26:209) |
Wa Mā Tanazzalat Bihi Ash-Shayāţīnu | And it is not the Shayātin (devils) who have brought it (this Qur'ān) down, (Ash-Shu'ara 26:210) |
Wa Mā Yanbaghī Lahum Wa Mā Yastaţī`ūna | Neither would it suit them, nor they can (produce it). (Ash-Shu'ara 26:211) |
'Innahum `Ani As-Sam`i Lama`zūlūna | Verily, they have been removed far from hearing it. (Ash-Shu'ara 26:212) |
Falā Tad`u Ma`a Al-Lahi 'Ilahāan 'Ākhara Fatakūna Mina Al-Mu`adhdhabīna | So invoke not with Allāh another ilāh (god) lest you be among those who receive punishment. (Ash-Shu'ara 26:213) |
Wa 'Andhir `Ashīrataka Al-'Aqrabīna | And warn your tribe (O Muhammad SAW) of near kindred. (Ash-Shu'ara 26:214) |
Wa Akhfiđ Janāĥaka Limani Attaba`aka Mina Al-Mu'uminīna | And be kind and humble to the believers who follow you. (Ash-Shu'ara 26:215) |
Fa'in `Aşawka Faqul 'Innī Barī'un Mimmā Ta`malūna | Then if they disobey you, say: "I am innocent of what you do." (Ash-Shu'ara 26:216) |
Wa Tawakkal `Alá Al-`Azīzi Ar-Raĥīmi | And put your trust in the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful, (Ash-Shu'ara 26:217) |
Al-Ladhī Yarāka Ĥīna Taqūmu | Who sees you (O Muhammad SAW) when you stand up (alone at night for Tahajjud prayers). (Ash-Shu'ara 26:218) |
Wa Taqallubaka Fī As-Sājidīna | And your movements among those who fall prostrate (along with you to Allāh in the five compulsory congregational prayers). (Ash-Shu'ara 26:219) |
'Innahu Huwa As-Samī`u Al-`Alīmu | Verily! He, only He, is the All-Hearer, the All-Knower. (Ash-Shu'ara 26:220) |
Hal 'Unabbi'ukum `Alá Man Tanazzalu Ash-Shayāţīnu | Shall I inform you (O people!) upon whom the Shayātin (devils) descend? (Ash-Shu'ara 26:221) |
Tanazzalu `Alá Kulli 'Affākin 'Athīmin | They descend on every lying (one who tells lies), sinful person. (Ash-Shu'ara 26:222) |
Yulqūna As-Sam`a Wa 'Aktharuhum Kādhibūna | Who gives ear (to the devils and they pour what they may have heard of the unseen from the angels), and most of them are liars. (Ash-Shu'ara 26:223) |
Wa Ash-Shu`arā'u Yattabi`uhumu Al-Ghāwūna | As for the poets, the erring follow them, (Ash-Shu'ara 26:224) |
'Alam Tará 'Annahum Fī Kulli Wādin Yahīmūna | See you not that they speak about every subject (praising others right or wrong) in their poetry? (Ash-Shu'ara 26:225) |
Wa 'Annahum Yaqūlūna Mā Lā Yaf`alūna | And that they say what they do not do. (Ash-Shu'ara 26:226) |
'Illā Al-Ladhīna 'Āmanū Wa `Amilū Aş-Şāliĥāti Wa Dhakarū Al-Laha Kathīrāan Wa Antaşarū Min Ba`di Mā Žulimū Wa Saya`lamu Al-Ladhīna Žalamū 'Ayya Munqalabin Yanqalibūna | Except those who believe (in the Oneness of Allāh Islāmic Monotheism), and do righteous deeds, and remember Allāh much, and reply back (in poetry) to the unjust poetry (which the pagan poets utter against the Muslims). And those who do wrong will come to know by what overturning they will be overturned. (Ash-Shu'ara 26:227) |
