Barā'atun Mina Allāhi Wa Rasūlihi 'Ilá Al-Ladhīna `Āhadttum Mina Al-Mushrikīna  | 009.001 A (declaration) of immunity from God and His Apostle, to those of the Pagans with whom ye have contracted mutual alliances:- | بَرَاءة ٌ مِنَ اللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ~ِ إِلَى الَّذِينَ عَاهَدتُّمْ مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ |
Fasīĥū Fī Al-'Arđi 'Arba`ata 'Ash/hurin Wa A`lamū 'Annakum Ghayru Mu`jizī Allāhi Wa 'Anna Allāha Mukhzī Al-Kāfirīna  | 009.002 Go ye, then, for four months, backwards and forwards, (as ye will), throughout the land, but know ye that ye cannot frustrate God (by your falsehood) but that God will cover with shame those who reject Him. | فَسِيحُوا فِي الأَرْضِ أَرْبَعَةَ أَشْهُر ٍ وَاعْلَمُوا أَنَّكُمْ غَيْرُ مُعْجِزِي اللَّهِ وَأَنَّ اللَّهَ مُخْزِي الْكَافِرِينَ |
Wa 'Adhānun Mina Allāhi Wa Rasūlihi 'Ilá An-Nāsi Yawma Al-Ĥajji Al-'Akbari 'Anna Allāha Barī'un Mina Al-Mushrikīna Wa Rasūluhu Fa'in Tubtum Fahuwa Khayrun Lakum Wa 'In Tawallaytum Fā`lamū 'Annakum Ghayru Mu`jizī Allāhi Wa Bashshiri Al-Ladhīna Kafarū Bi`adhābin 'Alīmin  | 009.003 And an announcement from God and His Apostle, to the people (assembled) on the day of the Great Pilgrimage,- that God and His Apostle dissolve (treaty) obligations with the Pagans. If then, ye repent, it were best for you; but if ye turn away, know ye that ye cannot frustrate God. And proclaim a grievous penalty to those who reject Faith. | وَأَذَان ٌ مِنَ اللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ~ِ إِلَى النَّاسِ يَوْمَ الْحَجِّ الأَكْبَرِ أَنَّ اللَّهَ بَرِيء ٌ مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ وَرَسُولُه ُُ فَإِنْ تُبْتُمْ فَهُوَ خَيْر ٌ لَكُمْ وَإِنْ تَوَلَّيْتُمْ فَاعْلَمُوا أَنَّكُمْ غَيْرُ مُعْجِزِي اللَّهِ وَبَشِّرِ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا بِعَذَابٍ أَلِيم ٍ |
'Illā Al-Ladhīna `Āhadttum Mina Al-Mushrikīna Thumma Lam Yanquşūkum Shay'āan Wa Lam Yužāhirū `Alaykum 'Aĥadāan Fa'atimmū 'Ilayhim `Ahdahum 'Ilá Muddatihim 'Inna Allāha Yuĥibbu Al-Muttaqīna  | 009.004 (But the treaties are) not dissolved with those Pagans with whom ye have entered into alliance and who have not subsequently failed you in aught, nor aided any one against you. So fulfil your engagements with them to the end of their term: for God loveth the righteous. | إِلاَّ الَّذِينَ عَاهَدتُّمْ مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ ثُمَّ لَمْ يَنقُصُوكُمْ شَيْئا ً وَلَمْ يُظَاهِرُوا عَلَيْكُمْ أَحَدا ً فَأَتِمُّوا إِلَيْهِمْ عَهْدَهُمْ إِلَى مُدَّتِهِمْ إِنَّ اللَّهَ يُحِبُّ الْمُتَّقِينَ |
Fa'idhā Ansalakha Al-'Ash/huru Al-Ĥurumu Fāqtulū Al-Mushrikīna Ĥaythu Wajadtumūhum Wa Khudhūhum Wa Aĥşurūhum Wāq`udū Lahum Kulla Marşadin Fa'in Tābū Wa 'Aqāmū Aş-Şalāata Wa 'Ātaw Az-Zakāata Fakhallū Sabīlahum 'Inna Allāha Ghafūrun Raĥīmun  | 009.005 But when the forbidden months are past, then fight and slay the Pagans wherever ye find them, an seize them, beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem (of war); but if they repent, and establish regular prayers and practise regular charity, then open the way for them: for God is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful. | فَإِذَا انسَلَخَ الأَشْهُرُ الْحُرُمُ فَاقْتُلُوا الْمُشْرِكِينَ حَيْثُ وَجَدْتُمُوهُمْ وَخُذُوهُمْ وَاحْصُرُوهُمْ وَاقْعُدُوا لَهُمْ كُلَّ مَرْصَد ٍ فَإِنْ تَابُوا وَأَقَامُوا الصَّلاَةَ وَآتَوُا الزَّكَاةَ فَخَلُّوا سَبِيلَهُمْ إِنَّ اللَّهَ غَفُور ٌ رَحِيم ٌ |
Wa 'In 'Aĥadun Mina Al-Mushrikīna Astajāraka Fa'ajirhu Ĥattá Yasma`a Kalāma Allāhi Thumma 'Abligh/hu Ma'manahu Dhālika Bi'annahum Qawmun Lā Ya`lamūna  | 009.006 If one amongst the Pagans ask thee for asylum, grant it to him, so that he may hear the word of God; and then escort him to where he can be secure. That is because they are men without knowledge. | وَإِنْ أَحَد ٌ مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ اسْتَجَارَكَ فَأَجِرْهُ حَتَّى يَسْمَعَ كَلاَمَ اللَّهِ ثُمَّ أَبْلِغْهُ مَأْمَنَه ُُ ذَلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ قَوْم ٌ لاَ يَعْلَمُونَ |
Kayfa Yakūnu Lilmushrikīna `Ahdun `Inda Allāhi Wa `Inda Rasūlihi 'Illā Al-Ladhīna `Āhadtum `Inda Al-Masjidi Al-Ĥarāmi Famā Astaqāmū Lakum Fāstaqīmū Lahum 'Inna Allāha Yuĥibbu Al-Muttaqīna  | 009.007 How can there be a league, before God and His Apostle, with the Pagans, except those with whom ye made a treaty near the sacred Mosque? As long as these stand true to you, stand ye true to them: for God doth love the righteous. | كَيْفَ يَكُونُ لِلْمُشْرِكِينَ عَهْدٌ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ وَعِنْدَ رَسُولِهِ~ِ إِلاَّ الَّذِينَ عَاهَدْتُمْ عِنْدَ الْمَسْجِدِ الْحَرَامِ فَمَا اسْتَقَامُوا لَكُمْ فَاسْتَقِيمُوا لَهُمْ إِنَّ اللَّهَ يُحِبُّ الْمُتَّقِينَ |
Kayfa Wa 'In Yažharū `Alaykum Lā Yarqubū Fīkum 'Illāan Wa Lā Dhimmatan Yurđūnakum Bi'afwāhihim Wa Ta'bá Qulūbuhum Wa 'Aktharuhum Fāsiqūna  | 009.008 How (can there be such a league), seeing that if they get an advantage over you, they respect not in you the ties either of kinship or of covenant? With (fair words from) their mouths they entice you, but their hearts are averse from you; and most of them are rebellious and wicked. | كَيْفَ وَإِنْ يَظْهَرُوا عَلَيْكُمْ لاَ يَرْقُبُوا فِيكُمْ إِلاّ ً وَلاَ ذِمَّة ً يُرْضُونَكُمْ بِأَفْوَاهِهِمْ وَتَأْبَى قُلُوبُهُمْ وَأَكْثَرُهُمْ فَاسِقُونَ |
Ashtaraw Bi'āyāti Allāhi Thamanāan Qalīlāan Faşaddū `An Sabīlihi 'Innahum Sā'a Mā Kānū Ya`malūna  | 009.009 The Signs of God have they sold for a miserable price, and (many) have they hindered from His way: evil indeed are the deeds they have done. | اشْتَرَوْا بِآيَاتِ اللَّهِ ثَمَنا ً قَلِيلا ً فَصَدُّوا عَنْ سَبِيلِهِ~ِ إِنَّهُمْ سَاءَ مَا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ |
Lā Yarqubūna Fī Mu'uminin 'Illāan Wa Lā Dhimmatan Wa 'Ūlā'ika Humu Al-Mu`tadūna  | 009.010 In a Believer they respect not the ties either of kinship or of covenant! It is they who have transgressed all bounds. | لاَ يَرْقُبُونَ فِي مُؤْمِن ٍ إِلاّ ً وَلاَ ذِمَّة ً وَأُوْلَائِكَ هُمُ الْمُعْتَدُونَ |
Fa'in Tābū Wa 'Aqāmū Aş-Şalāata Wa 'Ātaw Az-Zakāata Fa'ikhwānukum Fī Ad-Dīni Wa Nufaşşilu Al-'Āyāti Liqawmin Ya`lamūna  | 009.011 But (even so), if they repent, establish regular prayers, and practise regular charity,- they are your brethren in Faith: (thus) do We explain the Signs in detail, for those who understand. | فَإِنْ تَابُوا وَأَقَامُوا الصَّلاَةَ وَآتَوُا الزَّكَاةَ فَإِخْوَانُكُمْ فِي الدِّينِ وَنُفَصِّلُ الآيَاتِ لِقَوْم ٍ يَعْلَمُونَ |
Wa 'In Nakathū 'Aymānahum Min Ba`di `Ahdihim Wa Ţa`anū Fī Dīnikum Faqātilū 'A'immata Al-Kufri 'Innahum Lā 'Aymāna Lahum La`allahum Yantahūna  | 009.012 But if they violate their oaths after their covenant, and taunt you for your Faith,- fight ye the chiefs of Unfaith: for their oaths are nothing to them: that thus they may be restrained. | وَإِنْ نَكَثُوا أَيْمَانَهُمْ مِنْ بَعْدِ عَهْدِهِمْ وَطَعَنُوا فِي دِينِكُمْ فَقَاتِلُوا أَئِمَّةَ الْكُفْرِ إِنَّهُمْ لاَ أَيْمَانَ لَهُمْ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَنتَهُونَ |
'Alā Tuqātilūna Qawmāan Nakathū 'Aymānahum Wa Hammū Bi'ikhrāji Ar-Rasūli Wa Hum Bada'ūkum 'Awwala Marratin 'Atakhshawnahum Fa-Allāhu 'Aĥaqqu 'An Takhshawhu 'In Kuntum Mu'uminīna  | 009.013 Will ye not fight people who violated their oaths, plotted to expel the Apostle, and took the aggressive by being the first (to assault) you? Do ye fear them? Nay, it is God Whom ye should more justly fear, if ye believe! | أَلاَ تُقَاتِلُونَ قَوْما ً نَكَثُوا أَيْمَانَهُمْ وَهَمُّوا بِإِخْرَاجِ الرَّسُولِ وَهُمْ بَدَءُوكُمْ أَوَّلَ مَرَّةٍ أَتَخْشَوْنَهُمْ فَاللَّهُ أَحَقُّ أَنْ تَخْشَوْهُ إِنْ كُنتُمْ مُؤْمِنِينَ |
Qātilūhum Yu`adhdhibhumu Allāhu Bi'aydīkum Wa Yukhzihim Wa Yanşurkum `Alayhim Wa Yashfi Şudūra Qawmin Mu'uminīna  | 009.014 Fight them, and God will punish them by your hands, cover them with shame, help you (to victory) over them, heal the breasts of Believers, | قَاتِلُوهُمْ يُعَذِّبْهُمُ اللَّهُ بِأَيْدِيكُمْ وَيُخْزِهِمْ وَيَنْصُرْكُمْ عَلَيْهِمْ وَيَشْفِ صُدُورَ قَوْم ٍ مُؤْمِنِينَ |
Wa Yudh/hib Ghayža Qulūbihim Wa Yatūbu Allāhu `Alá Man Yashā'u Wa Allāhu `Alīmun Ĥakīmun  | 009.015 And still the indignation of their hearts. For God will turn (in mercy) to whom He will; and God is All-Knowing, All-Wise. | وَيُذْهِبْ غَيْظَ قُلُوبِهِمْ وَيَتُوبُ اللَّهُ عَلَى مَنْ يَشَاءُ وَاللَّهُ عَلِيمٌ حَكِيم ٌ |
'Am Ĥasibtum 'An Tutrakū Wa Lammā Ya`lami Allāhu Al-Ladhīna Jāhadū Minkum Wa Lam Yattakhidhū Min Dūni Allāhi Wa Lā Rasūlihi Wa Lā Al-Mu'uminīna Walījatan Wa Allāhu Khabīrun Bimā Ta`malūna  | 009.016 Or think ye that ye shall be abandoned, as though God did not know those among you who strive with might and main, and take none for friends and protectors except God, His Apostle, and the (community of) Believers? But God is well-acquainted with (all) that ye do. | أَمْ حَسِبْتُمْ أَنْ تُتْرَكُوا وَلَمَّا يَعْلَمِ اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ جَاهَدُوا مِنْكُمْ وَلَمْ يَتَّخِذُوا مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ وَلاَ رَسُولِه ِِ وَلاَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَلِيجَة ً وَاللَّهُ خَبِير ٌ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ |
Mā Kāna Lilmushrikīna 'An Ya`murū Masājida Allāhi Shāhidīna `Alá 'Anfusihim Bil-Kufri 'Ūlā'ika Ĥabiţat 'A`māluhum Wa Fī An-Nāri Hum Khālidūna  | 009.017 It is not for such as join gods with God, to visit or maintain the mosques of God while they witness against their own souls to infidelity. The works of such bear no fruit: In Fire shall they dwell. | مَا كَانَ لِلْمُشْرِكِينَ أَنْ يَعْمُرُوا مَسَاجِدَ اللَّهِ شَاهِدِينَ عَلَى أَنفُسِهِمْ بِالْكُفْرِ أُوْلَائِكَ حَبِطَتْ أَعْمَالُهُمْ وَفِي النَّارِ هُمْ خَالِدُونَ |
'Innamā Ya`muru Masājida Allāhi Man 'Āmana Billāhi Wa Al-Yawmi Al-'Ākhiri Wa 'Aqāma Aş-Şalāata Wa 'Ātá Az-Zakāata Wa Lam Yakhsha 'Illā Allāha Fa`asá 'Ūlā'ika 'An Yakūnū Mina Al-Muhtadīna  | 009.018 The mosques of God shall be visited and maintained by such as believe in God and the Last Day, establish regular prayers, and practise regular charity, and fear none (at all) except God. It is they who are expected to be on true guidance. | إِنَّمَا يَعْمُرُ مَسَاجِدَ اللَّهِ مَنْ آمَنَ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الآخِرِ وَأَقَامَ الصَّلاَةَ وَآتَى الزَّكَاةَ وَلَمْ يَخْشَ إِلاَّ اللَّهَ فَعَسَى أُوْلَائِكَ أَنْ يَكُونُوا مِنَ الْمُهْتَدِينَ |
'Aja`altum Siqāyata Al-Ĥājji Wa `Imārata Al-Masjidi Al-Ĥarāmi Kaman 'Āmana Billāhi Wa Al-Yawmi Al-'Ākhiri Wa Jāhada Fī Sabīli Allāhi Lā Yastawūna `Inda Allāhi Wa Allāhu Lā Yahdī Al-Qawma Až-Žālimīna  | 009.019 Do ye make the giving of drink to pilgrims, or the maintenance of the Sacred Mosque, equal to (the pious service of) those who believe in God and the Last Day, and strive with might and main in the cause of God? They are not comparable in the sight of God: and God guides not those who do wrong. | أَجَعَلْتُمْ سِقَايَةَ الْحَاجِّ وَعِمَارَةَ الْمَسْجِدِ الْحَرَامِ كَمَنْ آمَنَ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الآخِرِ وَجَاهَدَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ لاَ يَسْتَوُونَ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ وَاللَّهُ لاَ يَهْدِي الْقَوْمَ الظَّالِمِينَ |
Al-Ladhīna 'Āmanū Wa Hājarū Wa Jāhadū Fī Sabīli Allāhi Bi'amwālihim Wa 'Anfusihim 'A`žamu Darajatan `Inda Allāhi Wa 'Ūlā'ika Humu Al-Fā'izūna  | 009.020 Those who believe, and suffer exile and strive with might and main, in God's cause, with their goods and their persons, have the highest rank in the sight of God: they are the people who will achieve (salvation). | الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَهَاجَرُوا وَجَاهَدُوا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ بِأَمْوَالِهِمْ وَأَنفُسِهِمْ أَعْظَمُ دَرَجَةً عِنْدَ اللَّهِ وَأُوْلَائِكَ هُمُ الْفَائِزُونَ |
Yubashshiruhum Rabbuhum Biraĥmatin Minhu Wa Riđwānin Wa Jannātin Lahum Fīhā Na`īmun Muqīmun  | 009.021 Their Lord doth give them glad tidings of a Mercy from Himself, of His good pleasure, and of gardens for them, wherein are delights that endure: | يُبَشِّرُهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ بِرَحْمَة ٍ مِنْهُ وَرِضْوَان ٍ وَجَنَّات ٍ لَهُمْ فِيهَا نَعِيم ٌ مُقِيم ٌ |
Khālidīna Fīhā 'Abadāan 'Inna Allāha `Indahu 'Ajrun `Ažīmun  | 009.022 They will dwell therein for ever. Verily in God's presence is a reward, the greatest (of all). | خَالِدِينَ فِيهَا أَبَدا ً إِنَّ اللَّهَ عِنْدَهُ~ُ أَجْرٌ عَظِيم ٌ |
Yā 'Ayyuhā Al-Ladhīna 'Āmanū Lā Tattakhidhū 'Ābā'akum Wa 'Ikhwānakum 'Awliyā'a 'Ini Astaĥabbū Al-Kufra `Alá Al-'Īmāni Wa Man Yatawallahum Minkum Fa'ūlā'ika Humu Až-Žālimūna  | 009.023 O ye who believe! take not for protectors your fathers and your brothers if they love infidelity above Faith: if any of you do so, they do wrong. | يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لاَ تَتَّخِذُوا آبَاءَكُمْ وَإِخْوَانَكُمْ أَوْلِيَاءَ إِنِ اسْتَحَبُّوا الْكُفْرَ عَلَى الإِيمَانِ وَمَنْ يَتَوَلَّهُمْ مِنْكُمْ فَأُوْلَائِكَ هُمُ الظَّالِمُونَ |
Qul 'In Kāna 'Ābā'uukum Wa 'Abnā'uukum Wa 'Ikhwānukum Wa 'Azwājukum Wa `Ashīratukum Wa 'Amwālun Aqtaraftumūhā Wa Tijāratun Takhshawna Kasādahā Wa Masākinu Tarđawnahā 'Aĥabba 'Ilaykum Mina Allāhi Wa Rasūlihi Wa Jihādin Fī Sabīlihi Fatarabbaşū Ĥattá Ya'tiya Allāhu Bi'amrihi Wa Allāhu Lā Yahdī Al-Qawma Al-Fāsiqīna  | 009.024 Say: If it be that your fathers, your sons, your brothers, your mates, or your kindred; the wealth that ye have gained; the commerce in which ye fear a decline: or the dwellings in which ye delight - are dearer to you than God, or His Apostle, or the striving in His cause;- then wait until God brings about His decision: and God guides not the rebellious. | قُلْ إِنْ كَانَ آبَاؤُكُمْ وَأَبْنَاؤُكُمْ وَإِخْوَانُكُمْ وَأَزْوَاجُكُمْ وَعَشِيرَتُكُمْ وَأَمْوَال ٌ اقْتَرَفْتُمُوهَا وَتِجَارَة ٌ تَخْشَوْنَ كَسَادَهَا وَمَسَاكِنُ تَرْضَوْنَهَا أَحَبَّ إِلَيْكُمْ مِنَ اللَّهِ وَرَسُولِه ِِ وَجِهَاد ٍ فِي سَبِيلِه ِِ فَتَرَبَّصُوا حَتَّى يَأْتِيَ اللَّهُ بِأَمْرِه ِِ وَاللَّهُ لاَ يَهْدِي الْقَوْمَ الْفَاسِقِينَ |
Laqad Naşarakumu Allāhu Fī Mawāţina Kathīratin Wa Yawma Ĥunaynin 'Idh 'A`jabatkum Kathratukum Falam Tughni `Ankum Shay'āan Wa Đāqat `Alaykumu Al-'Arđu Bimā Raĥubat Thumma Wallaytum Mudbirīna  | 009.025 Assuredly God did help you in many battle-fields and on the day of Hunain: Behold! your great numbers elated you, but they availed you naught: the land, for all that it is wide, did constrain you, and ye turned back in retreat. | لَقَدْ نَصَرَكُمُ اللَّهُ فِي مَوَاطِنَ كَثِيرَة ٍ وَيَوْمَ حُنَيْن ٍ إِذْ أَعْجَبَتْكُمْ كَثْرَتُكُمْ فَلَمْ تُغْنِ عَنْكُمْ شَيْئا ً وَضَاقَتْ عَلَيْكُمُ الأَرْضُ بِمَا رَحُبَتْ ثُمَّ وَلَّيْتُمْ مُدْبِرِينَ |
Thumma 'Anzala Allāhu Sakīnatahu `Alá Rasūlihi Wa `Alá Al-Mu'uminīna Wa 'Anzala Junūdāan Lam Tarawhā Wa `Adhdhaba Al-Ladhīna Kafarū Wa Dhalika Jazā'u Al-Kāfirīna  | 009.026 But God did pour His calm on the Apostle and on the Believers, and sent down forces which ye saw not: He punished the Unbelievers; thus doth He reward those without Faith. | ثُمَّ أَنزَلَ اللَّهُ سَكِينَتَه ُُ عَلَى رَسُولِه ِِ وَعَلَى الْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَأَنزَلَ جُنُودا ً لَمْ تَرَوْهَا وَعَذَّبَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا وَذَلِكَ جَزَاءُ الْكَافِرِينَ |
Thumma Yatūbu Allāhu Min Ba`di Dhālika `Alá Man Yashā'u Wa Allāhu Ghafūrun Raĥīmun  | 009.027 Again will God, after this, turn (in mercy) to whom He will: for God is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful. | ثُمَّ يَتُوبُ اللَّهُ مِنْ بَعْدِ ذَلِكَ عَلَى مَنْ يَشَاءُ وَاللَّهُ غَفُور ٌ رَحِيم ٌ |
Yā 'Ayyuhā Al-Ladhīna 'Āmanū 'Innamā Al-Mushrikūna Najasun Falā Yaqrabū Al-Masjida Al-Ĥarāma Ba`da `Āmihim Hādhā Wa 'In Khiftum `Aylatan Fasawfa Yughnīkumu Allāhu Min Fađlihi 'In Shā'a 'Inna Allāha `Alīmun Ĥakīmun  | 009.028 O ye who believe! Truly the Pagans are unclean; so let them not, after this year of theirs, approach the Sacred Mosque. And if ye fear poverty, soon will God enrich you, if He wills, out of His bounty, for God is All-knowing, All-wise. | يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِنَّمَا الْمُشْرِكُونَ نَجَس ٌ فَلاَ يَقْرَبُوا الْمَسْجِدَ الْحَرَامَ بَعْدَ عَامِهِمْ هَذَا وَإِنْ خِفْتُمْ عَيْلَة ً فَسَوْفَ يُغْنِيكُمُ اللَّهُ مِنْ فَضْلِهِ~ِ إِنْ شَاءَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَلِيمٌ حَكِيم ٌ |
Qātilū Al-Ladhīna Lā Yu'uminūna Billāhi Wa Lā Bil-Yawmi Al-'Ākhiri Wa Lā Yuĥarrimūna Mā Ĥarrama Allāhu Wa Rasūluhu Wa Lā Yadīnūna Dīna Al-Ĥaqqi Mina Al-Ladhīna 'Ūtū Al-Kitāba Ĥattá Yu`ţū Al-Jizyata `An Yadin Wa Hum Şāghirūna  | 009.029 Fight those who believe not in God nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by God and His Apostle, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued. | قَاتِلُوا الَّذِينَ لاَ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِاللَّهِ وَلاَ بِالْيَوْمِ الآخِرِ وَلاَ يُحَرِّمُونَ مَا حَرَّمَ اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُه ُُ وَلاَ يَدِينُونَ دِينَ الْحَقِّ مِنَ الَّذِينَ أُوتُوا الْكِتَابَ حَتَّى يُعْطُوا الْجِزْيَةَ عَنْ يَد ٍ وَهُمْ صَاغِرُونَ |
Wa Qālati Al-Yahūdu `Uzayrun Abnu Allāhi Wa Qālati An-Naşārá Al-Masīĥu Abnu Allāhi Dhālika Qawluhum Bi'afwāhihim Yuđāhi'ūna Qawla Al-Ladhīna Kafarū Min Qablu Qātalahumu Allāhu 'Anná Yu'ufakūna  | 009.030 The Jews call 'Uzair a son of God, and the Christians call Christ the son of God. That is a saying from their mouth; (in this) they but imitate what the unbelievers of old used to say. God's curse be on them: how they are deluded away from the Truth! | وَقَالَتِ الْيَهُودُ عُزَيْر ٌ ابْنُ اللَّهِ وَقَالَتِ النَّصَارَى الْمَسِيحُ ابْنُ اللَّهِ ذَلِكَ قَوْلُهُمْ بِأَفْوَاهِهِمْ يُضَاهِئُونَ قَوْلَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا مِنْ قَبْلُ قَاتَلَهُمُ اللَّهُ أَنَّى يُؤْفَكُونَ |
Attakhadhū 'Aĥbārahum Wa Ruhbānahum 'Arbābāan Min Dūni Allāhi Wa Al-Masīĥa Abna Maryama Wa Mā 'Umirū 'Illā Liya`budū 'Ilahāan Wāĥidāan Lā 'Ilāha 'Illā Huwa Subĥānahu `Ammā Yushrikūna  | 009.031 They take their priests and their anchorites to be their lords in derogation of God, and (they take as their Lord) Christ the son of Mary; yet they were commanded to worship but One God: there is no god but He. Praise and glory to Him: (Far is He) from having the partners they associate (with Him). | اتَّخَذُوا أَحْبَارَهُمْ وَرُهْبَانَهُمْ أَرْبَابا ً مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ وَالْمَسِيحَ ابْنَ مَرْيَمَ وَمَا أُمِرُوا إِلاَّ لِيَعْبُدُوا إِلَها ً وَاحِدا ً لاَ إِلَهَ~َ إِلاَّ هُوَ سُبْحَانَه ُُ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ |
Yurīdūna 'An Yuţfi'ū Nūra Allāhi Bi'afwāhihim Wa Ya'bá Allāhu 'Illā 'An Yutimma Nūrahu Wa Law Kariha Al-Kāfirūna  | 009.032 Fain would they extinguish God's light with their mouths, but God will not allow but that His light should be perfected, even though the Unbelievers may detest (it). | يُرِيدُونَ أَنْ يُطْفِئُوا نُورَ اللَّهِ بِأَفْوَاهِهِمْ وَيَأْبَى اللَّهُ إِلاَّ أَنْ يُتِمَّ نُورَه ُُ وَلَوْ كَرِهَ الْكَافِرُونَ |
Huwa Al-Ladhī 'Arsala Rasūlahu Bil-Hudá Wa Dīni Al-Ĥaqqi Liyužhirahu `Alá Ad-Dīni Kullihi Wa Law Kariha Al-Mushrikūna  | 009.033 It is He Who hath sent His Apostle with guidance and the Religion of Truth, to proclaim it over all religion, even though the Pagans may detest (it). | هُوَ الَّذِي أَرْسَلَ رَسُولَه ُُ بِالْهُدَى وَدِينِ الْحَقِّ لِيُظْهِرَه ُُ عَلَى الدِّينِ كُلِّه ِِ وَلَوْ كَرِهَ الْمُشْرِكُونَ |
Yā 'Ayyuhā Al-Ladhīna 'Āmanū 'Inna Kathīrāan Mina Al-'Aĥbāri Wa Ar-Ruhbāni Laya'kulūna 'Amwāla An-Nāsi Bil-Bāţili Wa Yaşuddūna `An Sabīli Allāhi Wa Al-Ladhīna Yaknizūna Adh-Dhahaba Wa Al-Fiđđata Wa Lā Yunfiqūnahā Fī Sabīli Allāhi Fabashshirhum Bi`adhābin 'Alīmin  | 009.034 O ye who believe! there are indeed many among the priests and anchorites, who in Falsehood devour the substance of men and hinder (them) from the way of God. And there are those who bury gold and silver and spend it not in the way of God: announce unto them a most grievous penalty- | يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِنَّ كَثِيرا ً مِنَ الأَحْبَارِ وَالرُّهْبَانِ لَيَأْكُلُونَ أَمْوَالَ النَّاسِ بِالْبَاطِلِ وَيَصُدُّونَ عَنْ سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ وَالَّذِينَ يَكْنِزُونَ الذَّهَبَ وَالْفِضَّةَ وَلاَ يُنفِقُونَهَا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ فَبَشِّرْهُمْ بِعَذَابٍ أَلِيم ٍ |
Yawma Yuĥmá `Alayhā Fī Nāri Jahannama Fatukwá Bihā Jibāhuhum Wa Junūbuhum Wa Žuhūruhum Hādhā Mā Kanaztum Li'nfusikum Fadhūqū Mā Kuntum Taknizūna  | 009.035 On the Day when heat will be produced out of that (wealth) in the fire of Hell, and with it will be branded their foreheads, their flanks, and their backs, their flanks, and their backs.- "This is the (treasure) which ye buried for yourselves: taste ye, then, the (treasures) ye buried!" | يَوْمَ يُحْمَى عَلَيْهَا فِي نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ فَتُكْوَى بِهَا جِبَاهُهُمْ وَجُنُوبُهُمْ وَظُهُورُهُمْ هَذَا مَا كَنَزْتُمْ لِأنفُسِكُمْ فَذُوقُوا مَا كُنتُمْ تَكْنِزُونَ |
'Inna `Iddata Ash-Shuhūri `Inda Allāhi Athnā `Ashara Shahrāan Fī Kitābi Allāhi Yawma Khalaqa As-Samāwāti Wa Al-'Arđa Minhā 'Arba`atun Ĥurumun Dhālika Ad-Dīnu Al-Qayyimu Falā Tažlimū Fīhinna 'Anfusakum Wa Qātilū Al-Mushrikīna Kāffatan Kamā Yuqātilūnakum Kāffatan Wa A`lamū 'Anna Allāha Ma`a Al-Muttaqīna  | 009.036 The number of months in the sight of God is twelve (in a year)- so ordained by Him the day He created the heavens and the earth; of them four are sacred: that is the straight usage. So wrong not yourselves therein, and fight the Pagans all together as they fight you all together. But know that God is with those who restrain themselves. | إِنَّ عِدَّةَ الشُّهُورِ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ اثْنَا عَشَرَ شَهْرا ً فِي كِتَابِ اللَّهِ يَوْمَ خَلَقَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالأَرْضَ مِنْهَا أَرْبَعَةٌ حُرُم ٌ ذَلِكَ الدِّينُ الْقَيِّمُ فَلاَ تَظْلِمُوا فِيهِنَّ أَنْفُسَكُمْ وَقَاتِلُوا الْمُشْرِكِينَ كَافَّة ً كَمَا يُقَاتِلُونَكُمْ كَافَّة ً وَاعْلَمُوا أَنَّ اللَّهَ مَعَ الْمُتَّقِينَ |
'Innamā An-Nasī'u Ziyādatun Fī Al-Kufri Yuđallu Bihi Al-Ladhīna Kafarū Yuĥillūnahu `Āmāan Wa Yuĥarrimūnahu `Āmāan Liyuwāţi'ū `Iddata Mā Ĥarrama Allāhu Fayuĥillū Mā Ĥarrama Allāhu Zuyyina Lahum Sū'u 'A`mālihim Wa Allāhu Lā Yahdī Al-Qawma Al-Kāfirīna  | 009.037 Verily the transposing (of a prohibited month) is an addition to Unbelief: the Unbelievers are led to wrong thereby: for they make it lawful one year, and forbidden another year, in order to adjust the number of months forbidden by God and make such forbidden ones lawful. The evil of their course seems pleasing to them. But God guideth not those who reject Faith. | إِنَّمَا النَّسِيءُ زِيَادَة ٌ فِي الْكُفْرِ يُضَلُّ بِهِ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا يُحِلُّونَه ُُ عَاما ً وَيُحَرِّمُونَه ُُ عَاما ً لِيُوَاطِئُوا عِدَّةَ مَا حَرَّمَ اللَّهُ فَيُحِلُّوا مَا حَرَّمَ اللَّهُ زُيِّنَ لَهُمْ سُوءُ أَعْمَالِهِمْ وَاللَّهُ لاَ يَهْدِي الْقَوْمَ الْكَافِرِينَ |
Yā 'Ayyuhā Al-Ladhīna 'Āmanū Mā Lakum 'Idhā Qīla Lakum Anfirū Fī Sabīli Allāhi Aththāqaltum 'Ilá Al-'Arđi 'Arađītum Bil-Ĥayāati Ad-Dunyā Mina Al-'Ākhirati Famā Matā`u Al-Ĥayāati Ad-Dunyā Fī Al-'Ākhirati 'Illā Qalīlun  | 009.038 O ye who believe! what is the matter with you, that, when ye are asked to go forth in the cause of God, ye cling heavily to the earth? Do ye prefer the life of this world to the Hereafter? But little is the comfort of this life, as compared with the Hereafter. | يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا مَا لَكُمْ إِذَا قِيلَ لَكُمْ انفِرُوا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ اثَّاقَلْتُمْ إِلَى الأَرْضِ أَرَضِيتُمْ بِالْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا مِنَ الآخِرَةِ فَمَا مَتَاعُ الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا فِي الآخِرَةِ إِلاَّ قَلِيل ٌ |
'Illā Tanfirū Yu`adhdhibkum `Adhābāan 'Alīmāan Wa Yastabdil Qawmāan Ghayrakum Wa Lā Tađurrūhu Shay'āan Wa Allāhu `Alá Kulli Shay'in Qadīrun  | 009.039 Unless ye go forth, He will punish you with a grievous penalty, and put others in your place; but Him ye would not harm in the least. For God hath power over all things. | إِلاَّ تَنفِرُوا يُعَذِّبْكُمْ عَذَاباً أَلِيما ً وَيَسْتَبْدِلْ قَوْماً غَيْرَكُمْ وَلاَ تَضُرُّوه ُُ شَيْئا ً وَاللَّهُ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْء ٍ قَدِير ٌ |
'Illā Tanşurūhu Faqad Naşarahu Allāhu 'Idh 'Akhrajahu Al-Ladhīna Kafarū Thāniya Athnayni 'Idh Humā Fī Al-Ghāri 'Idh Yaqūlu Lişāĥibihi Lā Taĥzan 'Inna Allāha Ma`anā Fa'anzala Allāhu Sakīnatahu `Alayhi Wa 'Ayyadahu Bijunūdin Lam Tarawhā Wa Ja`ala Kalimata Al-Ladhīna Kafarū As-Suflá Wa Kalimatu Allāhi Hiya Al-`Ulyā Wa Allāhu `Azīzun Ĥakīmun  | 009.040 If ye help not (your leader), (it is no matter): for God did indeed help him, when the Unbelievers drove him out: he had no more than one companion; they two were in the cave, and he said to his companion, "Have no fear, for God is with us": then God sent down His peace upon him, and strengthened him with forces which ye saw not, and humbled to the depths the word of the Unbelievers. But the word of God is exalted to the heights: for God is Exalted in might, Wise. | إِلاَّ تَنصُرُوه ُُ فَقَدْ نَصَرَهُ اللَّهُ إِذْ أَخْرَجَهُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا ثَانِيَ اثْنَيْنِ إِذْ هُمَا فِي الْغَارِ إِذْ يَقُولُ لِصَاحِبِهِ لاَ تَحْزَنْ إِنَّ اللَّهَ مَعَنَا فَأَنزَلَ اللَّهُ سَكِينَتَه ُُ عَلَيْهِ وَأَيَّدَه ُُ بِجُنُود ٍ لَمْ تَرَوْهَا وَجَعَلَ كَلِمَةَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا السُّفْلَى وَكَلِمَةُ اللَّهِ هِيَ الْعُلْيَا وَاللَّهُ عَزِيزٌ حَكِيم ٌ |
Anfirū Khifāfāan Wa Thiqālāan Wa Jāhidū Bi'amwālikum Wa 'Anfusikum Fī Sabīli Allāhi Dhālikum Khayrun Lakum 'In Kuntum Ta`lamūna  | 009.041 Go ye forth, (whether equipped) lightly or heavily, and strive and struggle, with your goods and your persons, in the cause of God. That is best for you, if ye (but) knew. | انفِرُوا خِفَافا ً وَثِقَالا ً وَجَاهِدُوا بِأَمْوَالِكُمْ وَأَنفُسِكُمْ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ذَلِكُمْ خَيْر ٌ لَكُمْ إِنْ كُنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ |
Law Kāna `Arađāan Qarībāan Wa Safarāan Qāşidāan Lāttaba`ūka Wa Lakin Ba`udat `Alayhimu Ash-Shuqqatu Wa Sayaĥlifūna Billāhi Law Astaţa`nā Lakharajnā Ma`akum Yuhlikūna 'Anfusahum Wa Allāhu Ya`lamu 'Innahum Lakādhibūna  | 009.042 If there had been immediate gain (in sight), and the journey easy, they would (all) without doubt have followed thee, but the distance was long, (and weighed) on them. They would indeed swear by God, "If we only could, we should certainly have come out with you": They would destroy their own souls; for God doth know that they are certainly lying. | لَوْ كَانَ عَرَضا ً قَرِيبا ً وَسَفَرا ً قَاصِدا ً لاَتَّبَعُوكَ وَلَكِنْ بَعُدَتْ عَلَيْهِمُ الشُّقَّةُ وَسَيَحْلِفُونَ بِاللَّهِ لَوْ اسْتَطَعْنَا لَخَرَجْنَا مَعَكُمْ يُهْلِكُونَ أَنفُسَهُمْ وَاللَّهُ يَعْلَمُ إِنَّهُمْ لَكَاذِبُونَ |
`Afā Allāhu `Anka Lima 'Adhinta Lahum Ĥattá Yatabayyana Laka Al-Ladhīna Şadaqū Wa Ta`lama Al-Kādhibīna  | 009.043 God give thee grace! why didst thou grant them until those who told the truth were seen by thee in a clear light, and thou hadst proved the liars? | عَفَا اللَّهُ عَنْكَ لِمَ أَذِنتَ لَهُمْ حَتَّى يَتَبَيَّنَ لَكَ الَّذِينَ صَدَقُوا وَتَعْلَمَ الْكَاذِبِينَ |
Lā Yasta'dhinuka Al-Ladhīna Yu'uminūna Billāhi Wa Al-Yawmi Al-'Ākhiri 'An Yujāhidū Bi'amwālihim Wa 'Anfusihim Wa Allāhu `Alīmun Bil-Muttaqīna  | 009.044 Those who believe in God and the Last Day ask thee for no exemption from fighting with their goods and persons. And God knoweth well those who do their duty. | لاَ يَسْتَأْذِنُكَ الَّذِينَ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الآخِرِ أَنْ يُجَاهِدُوا بِأَمْوَالِهِمْ وَأَنفُسِهِمْ وَاللَّهُ عَلِيم ٌ بِالْمُتَّقِينَ |
'Innamā Yasta'dhinuka Al-Ladhīna Lā Yu'uminūna Billāhi Wa Al-Yawmi Al-'Ākhiri Wa Artābat Qulūbuhum Fahum Fī Raybihim Yataraddadūna  | 009.045 Only those ask thee for exemption who believe not in God and the Last Day, and whose hearts are in doubt, so that they are tossed in their doubts to and fro. | إِنَّمَا يَسْتَأْذِنُكَ الَّذِينَ لاَ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الآخِرِ وَارْتَابَتْ قُلُوبُهُمْ فَهُمْ فِي رَيْبِهِمْ يَتَرَدَّدُونَ |
Wa Law 'Arādū Al-Khurūja La'a`addū Lahu `Uddatan Wa Lakin Kariha Allāhu Anbi`āthahum Fathabbaţahum Wa Qīla Aq`udū Ma`a Al-Qā`idīna  |
