Al-Ĥā q q atu
The Reality (i.e. the Day of Resurrection)! (Al-Haqqah 69:1)
ا لْحَا قَّ ةُ
Mā A l-Ĥā q q atu
What is the Reality? (Al-Haqqah 69:2)
مَا ا لْحَا قَّ ةُ
Wa Mā 'Ad r ā ka Mā A l-Ĥā q q atu
And what will make you know what the Reality is? (Al-Haqqah 69:3)
وَمَا أَد ْرَ ا كَ مَا ا لْحَا قَّ ةُ
Kadh dh abat Th amū du Wa `Ā dun Bil-Q ār i`ati
Thamûd and 'Ad people denied the Qāri'ah [the striking Hour (of Judgement)]! (Al-Haqqah 69:4)
كَذَّبَتْ ثَمُو دُ وَعَا دٌ بِا لْقَ ار ِعَةِ
Fa'amm ā Th amū du Fa'uhlikū Biţ -Ţ āgh iyati
As for Thamûd, they were destroyed by the awful cry! (Al-Haqqah 69:5)
فَأَمَّ ا ثَمُو دُ فَأُهْلِكُوا بِا ل طَّ اغِ يَةِ
Wa 'Amm ā `Ā dun Fa'uhlikū Bir īĥin Ş arş ar in `Ātiyatin
And as for 'Ad, they were destroyed by a furious violent wind; (Al-Haqqah 69:6)
وَأَمَّ ا عَا دٌ فَأُهْلِكُوا بِر ِي حٍ صَ رْصَ رٍ عَاتِيَةٍ
Sakh kh ara hā `Alayhim Sab `a Layā lin Wa Th amāniyata 'Ayyā min Ĥusūmāan Fatará A l-Q aw ma Fīhā Ş ar`á Ka'ann ahum 'A`jā zu Nakh lin Kh āwiyatin
Which Allāh imposed on them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so that you could see men lying overthrown (destroyed), as if they were hollow trunks of date-palms! (Al-Haqqah 69:7)
سَخَّ رَ هَا عَلَيْهِمْ سَبْ عَ لَيَا لٍ وَثَمَانِيَةَ أَيَّا مٍ حُسُوما ً فَتَرَ ى ا لْقَ وْ مَ فِيهَا صَ رْعَى كَأَنَّ هُمْ أَعْجَا زُ نَخْ لٍ خَ اوِيَةٍ
Fahal Tará Lahum Min Bāq iyatin
Do you see any remnants of them? (Al-Haqqah 69:8)
فَهَلْ تَرَ ى لَهُمْ مِن ْ بَاقِ يَةٍ
Wa Jā 'a Fir `aw nu Wa Man Q ab lahu Wa A l-Mu'utafikā tu Bil-Kh āţ i'ati
And Fir'aun (Pharaoh), and those before him, and the cities overthrown [the towns of the people of [Lout (Lot)] committed sin, (Al-Haqqah 69:9)
وَجَا ءَ فِر ْعَوْ نُ وَمَن ْ قَ بْ لَهُ وَا لْمُؤْتَفِكَا تُ بِا لْخَ اطِ ئَةِ
Fa`aş aw Ra sū la Ra bbihim Fa'akh adh ahum 'Akh dh atan Rā biyatan
And they disobeyed their Lord's Messenger, so He punished them with a strong punishment. (Al-Haqqah 69:10)
فَعَصَ وْا رَ سُو لَ رَ بِّهِمْ فَأَخَ ذَهُمْ أَخْ ذَة ً رَ ابِيَةً
'Inn ā Lamm ā Ţ agh á A l-Mā 'u Ĥamalnākum Fī A l-Jār iyati
Verily! When the water rose beyond its limits [Nûh's (Noah) Flood], We carried you (mankind) in the floating [ship that was constructed by Nûh (Noah)]. (Al-Haqqah 69:11)
إِنَّ ا لَمَّ ا طَ غَ ى ا لْمَا ءُ حَمَلْنَاكُمْ فِي ا لْجَار ِيَةِ
Linaj `alahā Lakum Tadh kira tan Wa Ta`iyahā 'Udh unun Wā`iyatun
That We might make it a remembrance for you, and the keen ear (person) may (hear and) understand it. (Al-Haqqah 69:12)
لِنَجْ عَلَهَا لَكُمْ تَذْكِرَ ة ً وَتَعِيَهَا أُذُنٌ وَاعِيَةٌ
Fa'idh ā Nufikh a Fī A ş -Ş ū r i Nafkh atun Wāĥidatun
Then when the Trumpet will be blown with one blowing (the first one), (Al-Haqqah 69:13)
فَإِذَا نُفِخَ فِي ا ل صُّ و ر ِ نَفْخَ ةٌ وَاحِد َةٌ
Wa Ĥumilati A l-'Arđu Wa A l-Jibā lu Fadukkatā Dakkatan Wāĥidatan
And the earth and the mountains shall be removed from their places, and crushed with a single crushing, (Al-Haqqah 69:14)
وَحُمِلَتِ ا لأَرْضُ وَا لْجِبَا لُ فَدُكَّتَا دَكَّة ً وَاحِد َةً
Fayawma'idh in Waq a`ati A l-Wāq i`atu
Then on that Day shall the (Great) Event befall, (Al-Haqqah 69:15)
فَيَوْمَئِذٍ وَقَ عَتِ ا لْوَاقِ عَةُ
Wa A n sh aq q ati A s-Samā 'u Fahiya Yawma'idh in Wāhiyatun
And the heaven will split asunder, for that Day it (the heaven will be frail (weak), and torn up, (Al-Haqqah 69:16)
وَان شَقَّ تِ ا ل سَّمَا ءُ فَهِيَ يَوْمَئِذٍ وَاهِيَةٌ
Wa A l-Malaku `Alá 'Arjā 'ihā ۚ Wa Yaĥmilu `Arsh a Ra bbika Fawq ahum Yawma'idh in Th amāniyatun
And the angels will be on its sides, and eight angels will, that Day, bear the Throne of your Lord above them. (Al-Haqqah 69:17)
وَالْمَلَكُ عَلَى أَرْجَا ئِهَا ۚ وَيَحْمِلُ عَرْشَ رَ بِّكَ فَوْقَ هُمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ ثَمَانِيَةٌ
Yawma'idh in Tu`ra đū na Lā Takh fá Min kum Kh āfiyatun
That Day shall you be brought to Judgement, not a secret of you will be hidden. (Al-Haqqah 69:18)
يَوْمَئِذٍ تُعْرَ ضُ و نَ لاَ تَخْ فَى مِنْ كُمْ خَ افِيَةٌ
Fa'amm ā Man 'Ūtiya Kitābahu Biyamīnihi Fayaq ū lu Hā 'uum A q ra 'ū Kitābī
Then as for him who will be given his Record in his right hand will say: "Take, read my Record! (Al-Haqqah 69:19)
فَأَمَّ ا مَن ْ أُ وتِيَ كِتَابَهُ بِيَمِينِهِ فَيَقُ و لُ هَا ؤُمْ ا قْ رَ ءُ وا كِتَابِي
'Inn ī Ž anan tu 'Ann ī Mulā q in Ĥisābiyah
"Surely, I did believe that I shall meet my Account!" (Al-Haqqah 69:20)
إِنِّ ي ظَ نَن تُ أَنِّ ي مُلاَقٍ حِسَابِيَه
Fahuwa Fī `Īsh atin Rā điyatin
So he shall be in a life, well-pleasing. (Al-Haqqah 69:21)
فَهُوَ فِي عِيشَةٍ رَ اضِ يَةٍ
Fī Jann atin `Āliyatin
In a lofty Paradise, (Al-Haqqah 69:22)
فِي جَنَّ ةٍ عَالِيَةٍ
Q uţ ūfuhā Dāniyatun
The fruits in bunches whereof will be low and near at hand. (Al-Haqqah 69:23)
قُ طُ وفُهَا دَانِيَةٌ
Kulū Wa A sh ra bū Hanī 'ā an Bimā 'Aslaftum Fī A l-'Ayyā mi A l-Kh āliyati
Eat and drink at ease for that which you have sent on before you in days past! (Al-Haqqah 69:24)
كُلُوا وَا شْرَ بُوا هَنِي ئا ً بِمَا أَسْلَفْتُمْ فِي ا لأَيَّا مِ ا لْخَ الِيَةِ
Wa 'Amm ā Man 'Ūtiya Kitābahu Bish imālihi Fayaq ū lu Yā Laytanī Lam 'Ū ta Kitābīh
But as for him who will be given his Record in his left hand, will say: "I wish that I had not been given my Record! (Al-Haqqah 69:25)
وَأَمَّ ا مَن ْ أُ وتِيَ كِتَابَهُ بِشِمَالِهِ فَيَقُ و لُ يَا لَيْتَنِي لَمْ أُو تَ كِتَابِيهْ
Wa Lam 'Ad r i Mā Ĥisābīh
"And that I had never known, how my Account is? (Al-Haqqah 69:26)
وَلَمْ أَد ْر ِ مَا حِسَابِيهْ
Yā Laytahā Kānati A l-Q āđiyata
"I wish, would that it had been my end (death)! (Al-Haqqah 69:27)
يَا لَيْتَهَا كَانَتِ ا لْقَ اضِ يَةَ
Mā 'Agh ná `Ann ī Mālīh ۜ
"My wealth has not availed me, (Al-Haqqah 69:28)
مَا أَغْ نَى عَنّ ِي مَالِيهْ
Halaka `Ann ī Sulţ ānīh
"My power and arguments (to defend myself) have gone from me!" (Al-Haqqah 69:29)
هَلَكَ عَنِّ ي سُلْطَ انِيهْ
Kh udh ū hu Fagh ullū hu
(It will be said): "Seize him and fetter him, (Al-Haqqah 69:30)
خُ ذُو هُ فَغُ لُّوهُ
Th umm a A l-Jaĥī ma Ş allū hu
Then throw him in the blazing Fire. (Al-Haqqah 69:31)
ثُمّ َ ا لْجَحِي مَ صَ لُّوهُ
Th umm a Fī Silsilatin Dh ar`uhā Sab `ū na Dh ir ā`āan Fāslukū hu
"Then fasten him with a chain whereof the length is seventy cubits!" (Al-Haqqah 69:32)
ثُمّ َ فِي سِلْسِلَةٍ ذَرْعُهَا سَبْ عُو نَ ذِرَ اعا ً فَاسْلُكُوهُ
'Inn ahu Kā na Lā Yu'uminu Bill āhi A l-`Ažī mi
Verily, He used not to believe in Allāh, the Most Great, (Al-Haqqah 69:33)
إِنَّ هُ كَا نَ لاَ يُؤْمِنُ بِا للَّ هِ ا لْعَظِ يمِ
Wa Lā Yaĥuđđu `Alá Ţ a`ā mi A l-Miskī ni
And urged not on the feeding of AlMiskīn (the poor), (Al-Haqqah 69:34)
وَلاَ يَحُضّ ُ عَلَى طَ عَا مِ ا لْمِسْكِينِ
Falay sa Lahu A l-Yaw ma Hāhunā Ĥamī mun
So no friend has he here this Day, (Al-Haqqah 69:35)
فَلَيْ سَ لَهُ ا لْيَوْ مَ هَاهُنَا حَمِيمٌ
Wa Lā Ţ a`ā mun 'Illā Min Gh islī nin
Nor any food except filth from the washing of wounds, (Al-Haqqah 69:36)
وَلاَ طَ عَا مٌ إِلاَّ مِن ْ غِ سْلِينٍ
Lā Ya'kuluhu~ 'Illā A l-Kh āţ i'ū na
None will eat except the Khāti'ûn (sinners, disbelievers, polytheists, etc.). (Al-Haqqah 69:37)
لاَ يَأْكُلُهُ~ ُ إِلاَّ ا لْخَ اطِ ئُ ونَ
Falā 'Uq simu Bimā Tub ş irū na
So I swear by whatsoever you see, (Al-Haqqah 69:38)
فَلاَ أُقْ سِمُ بِمَا تُبْ صِ رُونَ
Wa Mā Lā Tub ş irū na
And by whatsoever you see not, (Al-Haqqah 69:39)
وَمَا لاَ تُبْ صِ رُونَ
'Inn ahu Laq aw lu Ra sū lin Kar ī min
That this is verily the word of an honoured Messenger [i.e. Jibrael (Gabriel) or Muhammad SAW which he has brought from Allāh]. (Al-Haqqah 69:40)
إِنَّ هُ لَقَ وْ لُ رَ سُو لٍ كَر ِيمٍ
Wa Mā Huwa Biq aw li Sh ā`ir in ۚ Q alīlāan Mā Tu'uminū na
It is not the word of a poet, little is that you believe! (Al-Haqqah 69:41)
وَمَا هُوَ بِقَ وْ لِ شَاعِر ٍ ۚ قَ لِيلا ً مَا تُؤْمِنُونَ
Wa Lā Biq aw li Kāhinin ۚ Q alīlāan Mā Tadh akkarū na
Nor is it the word of a soothsayer (or a foreteller), little is that you remember! (Al-Haqqah 69:42)
وَلاَ بِقَ وْ لِ كَاهِنٍ ۚ قَ لِيلا ً مَا تَذَكَّرُونَ
Tan zī lun Min Ra bbi A l-`Ālamī na
This is the Revelation sent down from the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). (Al-Haqqah 69:43)
تَن زِي لٌ مِن ْ رَ بِّ ا لْعَالَمِينَ
Wa Law Taq awwala `Alaynā Ba`đa A l-'Aq āwī li
And if he (Muhammad SAW) had forged a false saying concerning Us (Allāh), (Al-Haqqah 69:44)
وَلَوْ تَقَ وَّلَ عَلَيْنَا بَعْضَ ا لأَقَ اوِيلِ
La'akh adh nā Minhu Bil-Yamī ni
We surely should have seized him by his right hand (or with power and might), (Al-Haqqah 69:45)
لَأَخَ ذْنَا مِنْ هُ بِا لْيَمِينِ
Th umm a Laq aţ a`nā Minhu A l-Watī na
And then certainly should have cut off his life artery (Aorta), (Al-Haqqah 69:46)
ثُمّ َ لَقَ طَ عْنَا مِنْ هُ ا لْوَتِينَ
Famā Min kum Min 'Aĥadin `Anhu Ĥājizī na
And none of you could withhold Us from (punishing) him. (Al-Haqqah 69:47)
فَمَا مِنْ كُمْ مِن ْ أَحَدٍ عَنْ هُ حَاجِزِينَ
Wa 'Inn ahu Latadh kira tun Lilmuttaq ī na
And verily, this Qur'ān is a Reminder for the Muttaqûn (pious - see V.2:2). (Al-Haqqah 69:48)
وَإِنَّ هُ لَتَذْكِرَ ة ٌ لِلْمُتَّقِ ينَ
Wa 'Inn ā Lana`lamu 'Ann a Min kum Mukadh dh ibī na
And verily, We know that there are some among you that belie (this Qur'ān). [Tafsir At-Tabarī, Vol. 29, Page 68] (Al-Haqqah 69:49)
وَإِنَّ ا لَنَعْلَمُ أَنّ َ مِنْ كُمْ مُكَذِّبِينَ
Wa 'Inn ahu Laĥasra tun `Alá A l-Kāfir ī na
And indeed it (this Qur'ān) will be an anguish for the disbelievers (on the Day of Resurrection). (Al-Haqqah 69:50)
وَإِنَّ هُ لَحَسْرَ ةٌ عَلَى ا لْكَافِر ِينَ
Wa 'Inn ahu Laĥaq q u A l-Yaq ī ni
And Verily, it (this Qur'ān) is an absolute truth with certainty. (Al-Haqqah 69:51)
وَإِنَّ هُ لَحَقُّ ا لْيَقِ ينِ
Fasabbiĥ Biāsmi Ra bbika A l-`Ažī mi
So glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most Great. (Al-Haqqah 69:52)
فَسَبِّحْ بِا سْمِ رَ بِّكَ ا لْعَظِ يمِ
