Yas'alūnaka `Ani Al-'Anfāl Quli Al-'Anfāli Lillāhi Wa Ar-Rasūli Fa Attaqū Allāha Wa 'Aşliĥū Dhāta Baynikum Wa 'Aţī`ū Allāha Wa Rasūlahu 'In Kuntum Mu'uminīna  | They ask you (O Muhammad SAW) about the spoils of war. Say: "The spoils are for Allāh and the Messenger." So fear Allāh and adjust all matters of difference among you, and obey Allāh and His Messenger (Muhammad SAW), if you are believers. (Al-Anfal 8:1) | يَسْأَلُونَكَ عَنِ الأَنفَال قُلِ الأَنفَالِ لِلَّهِ وَالرَّسُولِ فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَأَصْلِحُوا ذَاتَ بَيْنِكُمْ وَأَطِيعُوا اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ~ُ إِنْ كُنتُمْ مُؤْمِنِينَ |
'Innamā Al-Mu'uminūna Al-Ladhīna 'Idhā Dhukira Allāhu Wajilat Qulūbuhum Wa 'Idhā Tuliyat `Alayhim 'Āyātuhu Zādat/hum 'Īmānāan Wa `Alá Rabbihim Yatawakkalūna  | The believers are only those who, when Allāh is mentioned, feel a fear in their hearts and when His Verses (this Qur'ān) are recited unto them, they (i.e. the Verses) increase their Faith; and they put their trust in their Lord (Alone); (Al-Anfal 8:2) | إِنَّمَا الْمُؤْمِنُونَ الَّذِينَ إِذَا ذُكِرَ اللَّهُ وَجِلَتْ قُلُوبُهُمْ وَإِذَا تُلِيَتْ عَلَيْهِمْ آيَاتُه ُُ زَادَتْهُمْ إِيمَانَا ً وَعَلَى رَبِّهِمْ يَتَوَكَّلُونَ |
Al-Ladhīna Yuqīmūna Aş-Şalāata Wa Mimmā Razaqnāhum Yunfiqūna  | Who perform As-Salāt (IqāmatasSalāt) and spend out of that We have provided them. (Al-Anfal 8:3) | الَّذِينَ يُقِيمُونَ الصَّلاَةَ وَمِمَّا رَزَقْنَاهُمْ يُنفِقُونَ |
'Ūlā'ika Humu Al-Mu'uminūna Ĥaqqāan Lahum Darajātun `Inda Rabbihim Wa Maghfiratun Wa Rizqun Karīmun  | It is they who are the believers in truth. For them are grades of dignity with their Lord, and Forgiveness and a generous provision (Paradise). (Al-Anfal 8:4) | أُوْلَائِكَ هُمُ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ حَقّا ً لَهُمْ دَرَجَاتٌ عِنْدَ رَبِّهِمْ وَمَغْفِرَة ٌ وَرِزْق ٌ كَرِيم ٌ |
Kamā 'Akhrajaka Rabbuka Min Baytika Bil-Ĥaqqi Wa 'Inna Farīqāan Mina Al-Mu'uminīna Lakārihūna  | As your Lord caused you (O Muhammad SAW) to go out from your home with the truth, and verily, a party among the believers disliked it; (Al-Anfal 8:5) | كَمَا أَخْرَجَكَ رَبُّكَ مِنْ بَيْتِكَ بِالْحَقِّ وَإِنَّ فَرِيقا ً مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ لَكَارِهُونَ |
Yujādilūnaka Fī Al-Ĥaqqi Ba`damā Tabayyana Ka'annamā Yusāqūna 'Ilá Al-Mawti Wa Hum Yanžurūna  | Disputing with you concerning the truth after it was made manifest, as if they were being driven to death, while they were looking (at it). (Al-Anfal 8:6) | يُجَادِلُونَكَ فِي الْحَقِّ بَعْدَمَا تَبَيَّنَ كَأَنَّمَا يُسَاقُونَ إِلَى الْمَوْتِ وَهُمْ يَنظُرُونَ |
Wa 'Idh Ya`idukumu Allāhu 'Iĥdá Aţ-Ţā'ifatayni 'Annahā Lakum Wa Tawaddūna 'Anna Ghayra Dhāti Ash-Shawkati Takūnu Lakum Wa Yurīdu Allāhu 'An Yuĥiqqa Al-Ĥaqqa Bikalimātihi Wa Yaqţa`a Dābira Al-Kāfirīna  | And (remember) when Allāh promised you (Muslims) one of the two parties (of the enemy i.e. either the army or the caravan) that it should be yours, you wished that the one not armed (the caravan) should be yours, but Allāh willed to justify the truth by His Words and to cut off the roots of the disbelievers (i.e. in the battle of Badr). (Al-Anfal 8:7) | وَإِذْ يَعِدُكُمُ اللَّهُ إِحْدَى الطَّائِفَتَيْنِ أَنَّهَا لَكُمْ وَتَوَدُّونَ أَنَّ غَيْرَ ذَاتِ الشَّوْكَةِ تَكُونُ لَكُمْ وَيُرِيدُ اللَّهُ أَنْ يُحِقَّ الْحَقَّ بِكَلِمَاتِه ِِ وَيَقْطَعَ دَابِرَ الْكَافِرِينَ |
Liyuĥiqqa Al-Ĥaqqa Wa Yubţila Al-Bāţila Wa Law Kariha Al-Mujrimūna  | That He might cause the truth to triumph and bring falsehood to nothing, even though the Mujrimûn (disbelievers, polytheists, sinners, criminals, etc.) hate it. (Al-Anfal 8:8) | لِيُحِقَّ الْحَقَّ وَيُبْطِلَ الْبَاطِلَ وَلَوْ كَرِهَ الْمُجْرِمُونَ |
'Idh Tastaghīthūna Rabbakum Fāstajāba Lakum 'Annī Mumiddukum Bi'alfin Mina Al-Malā'ikati Murdifīna  | (Remember) when you sought help of your Lord and He answered you (saying): "I will help you with a thousand of the angels each behind the other (following one another) in succession." (Al-Anfal 8:9) | إِذْ تَسْتَغِيثُونَ رَبَّكُمْ فَاسْتَجَابَ لَكُمْ أَنِّي مُمِدُّكُمْ بِأَلْف ٍ مِنَ الْمَلاَئِكَةِ مُرْدِفِينَ |
Wa Mā Ja`alahu Allāhu 'Illā Bushrá Wa Litaţma'inna Bihi Qulūbukum Wa Mā An-Naşru 'Illā Min `Indi Allāhi 'Inna Allāha `Azīzun Ĥakīmun  | Allāh made it only as glad tidings, and that your hearts be at rest therewith. And there is no victory except from Allāh. Verily, Allāh is All-Mighty, All-Wise. (Al-Anfal 8:10) | وَمَا جَعَلَهُ اللَّهُ إِلاَّ بُشْرَى وَلِتَطْمَئِنَّ بِه ِِ قُلُوبُكُمْ وَمَا النَّصْرُ إِلاَّ مِنْ عِنْدِ اللَّهِ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزِيزٌ حَكِيم ٌ |
'Idh Yughashshīkumu An-Nu`āsa 'Amanatan Minhu Wa Yunazzilu `Alaykum Mina As-Samā'i Mā'an Liyuţahhirakum Bihi Wa Yudh/hiba `Ankum Rijza Ash-Shayţāni Wa Liyarbiţa `Alá Qulūbikum Wa Yuthabbita Bihi Al-'Aqdāma  | (Remember) when He covered you with a slumber as a security from Him, and He caused water (rain) to descend on you from the sky, to clean you thereby and to remove from you the Rijz (whispering, evil-suggestions, etc.) of Shaitān (Satan), and to strengthen your hearts, and make your feet firm thereby. (Al-Anfal 8:11) | إِذْ يُغَشِّيكُمُ النُّعَاسَ أَمَنَة ً مِنْهُ وَيُنَزِّلُ عَلَيْكُمْ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ مَاء ً لِيُطَهِّرَكُمْ بِه ِِ وَيُذْهِبَ عَنكُمْ رِجْزَ الشَّيْطَانِ وَلِيَرْبِطَ عَلَى قُلُوبِكُمْ وَيُثَبِّتَ بِهِ الأَقْدَامَ |
'Idh Yūĥī Rabbuka 'Ilá Al-Malā'ikati 'Annī Ma`akum Fathabbitū Al-Ladhīna 'Āmanū Sa'ulqī Fī Qulūbi Al-Ladhīna Kafarū Ar-Ru`ba Fāđribū Fawqa Al-'A`nāqi Wa Ađribū Minhum Kulla Banānin  | (Remember) when your Lord inspired the angels, "Verily, I am with you, so keep firm those who have believed. I will cast terror into the hearts of those who have disbelieved, so strike them over the necks, and smite over all their fingers and toes." (Al-Anfal 8:12) | إِذْ يُوحِي رَبُّكَ إِلَى الْمَلاَئِكَةِ أَنِّي مَعَكُمْ فَثَبِّتُوا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا سَأُلْقِي فِي قُلُوبِ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا الرُّعْبَ فَاضْرِبُوا فَوْقَ الأَعْنَاقِ وَاضْرِبُوا مِنْهُمْ كُلَّ بَنَان ٍ |
Dhālika Bi'annahum Shāqqū Allāha Wa Rasūlahu Wa Man Yushāqiqi Allāha Wa Rasūlahu Fa'inna Allāha Shadīdu Al-`Iqābi  | This is because they defied and disobeyed Allāh and His Messenger. And whoever defies and disobeys Allāh and His Messenger, then verily, Allāh is Severe in punishment. (Al-Anfal 8:13) | ذَلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ شَاقُّوا اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَه ُُ وَمَنْ يُشَاقِقِ اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَه ُُ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ شَدِيدُ الْعِقَابِ |
Dhālikum Fadhūqūhu Wa 'Anna Lilkāfirīna `Adhāba An-Nāri  | This is the torment, so taste it, and surely for the disbelievers is the torment of the Fire. (Al-Anfal 8:14) | ذَلِكُمْ فَذُوقُوه ُُ وَأَنَّ لِلْكَافِرِينَ عَذَابَ النَّارِ |
Yā 'Ayyuhā Al-Ladhīna 'Āmanū 'Idhā Laqītumu Al-Ladhīna Kafarū Zaĥfāan Falā Tuwallūhumu Al-'Adbāra  | O you who believe! When you meet those who disbelieve, in a battle-field, never turn your backs to them. (Al-Anfal 8:15) | يَاأَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِذَا لَقِيتُمُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا زَحْفا ً فَلاَ تُوَلُّوهُمُ الأَدْبَارَ |
Wa Man Yuwallihim Yawma'idhin Duburahu 'Illā Mutaĥarrifāan Liqitālin 'Aw Mutaĥayyizāan 'Ilá Fi'atin Faqad Bā'a Bighađabin Mina Allāhi Wa Ma'wāhu Jahannamu Wa Bi'sa Al-Maşīru  | And whoever turns his back to them on such a day - unless it be a stratagem of war, or to retreat to a troop (of his own), - he indeed has drawn upon himself wrath from Allāh. And his abode is Hell, and worst indeed is that destination! (Al-Anfal 8:16) | وَمَنْ يُوَلِّهِمْ يَوْمَئِذ ٍ دُبُرَهُ~ُ إِلاَّ مُتَحَرِّفا ً لِقِتَالٍ أَوْ مُتَحَيِّزا ً إِلَى فِئَة ٍ فَقَدْ بَاءَ بِغَضَب ٍ مِنَ اللَّهِ وَمَأْوَاه ُُ جَهَنَّمُ وَبِئْسَ الْمَصِيرُ |
Falam Taqtulūhum Wa Lakinna Allāha Qatalahum Wa Mā Ramayta 'Idh Ramayta Wa Lakinna Allāha Ramá Wa Liyubliya Al-Mu'uminīna Minhu Balā'an Ĥasanāan 'Inna Allāha Samī`un `Alīmun  | You killed them not, but Allāh killed them. And you (Muhammad SAW) threw not when you did throw but Allāh threw, that He might test the believers by a fair trial from Him. Verily, Allāh is All-Hearer, All-Knower. (Al-Anfal 8:17) | فَلَمْ تَقْتُلُوهُمْ وَلَكِنَّ اللَّهَ قَتَلَهُمْ وَمَا رَمَيْتَ إِذْ رَمَيْتَ وَلَكِنَّ اللَّهَ رَمَى وَلِيُبْلِيَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ مِنْهُ بَلاَءً حَسَنا ً إِنَّ اللَّهَ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيم ٌ |
Dhālikum Wa 'Anna Allāha Mūhinu Kaydi Al-Kāfirīna  | This (is the fact) and surely, Allāh weakens the deceitful plots of the disbelievers. (Al-Anfal 8:18) | ذَلِكُمْ وَأَنَّ اللَّهَ مُوهِنُ كَيْدِ الْكَافِرِينَ |
'In Tastaftiĥū Faqad Jā'akumu Al-Fatĥu Wa 'In Tantahū Fahuwa Khayrun Lakum Wa 'In Ta`ūdū Na`ud Wa Lan Tughniya `Ankum Fi'atukum Shay'āan Wa Law Kathurat Wa 'Anna Allāha Ma`a Al-Mu'uminīna  | (O disbelievers) if you ask for a judgement, now has the judgement come unto you and if you cease (to do wrong), it will be better for you, and if you return (to the attack), so shall We return, and your forces will be of no avail to you, however numerous it be, and verily, Allāh is with the believers. (Al-Anfal 8:19) | إِنْ تَسْتَفْتِحُوا فَقَدْ جَاءَكُمُ الْفَتْحُ وَإِنْ تَنتَهُوا فَهُوَ خَيْر ٌ لَكُمْ وَإِنْ تَعُودُوا نَعُدْ وَلَنْ تُغْنِيَ عَنكُمْ فِئَتُكُمْ شَيْئا ً وَلَوْ كَثُرَتْ وَأَنَّ اللَّهَ مَعَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ |
Yā 'Ayyuhā Al-Ladhīna 'Āmanū 'Aţī`ū Allāha Wa Rasūlahu Wa Lā Tawallaw `Anhu Wa 'Antum Tasma`ūna  | O you who believe! Obey Allāh and His Messenger, and turn not away from him (i.e. Messenger Muhammad SAW) while you are hearing. (Al-Anfal 8:20) | يَاأَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا أَطِيعُوا اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَه ُُ وَلاَ تَوَلَّوْا عَنْهُ وَأَنْتُمْ تَسْمَعُونَ |
Wa Lā Takūnū Kālladhīna Qālū Sami`nā Wa Hum Lā Yasma`ūna  | And be not like those who say: "We have heard," but they hear not. (Al-Anfal 8:21) | وَلاَ تَكُونُوا كَالَّذِينَ قَالُوا سَمِعْنَا وَهُمْ لاَ يَسْمَعُونَ |
'Inna Sharra Ad-Dawābbi `Inda Allāhi Aş-Şummu Al-Bukmu Al-Ladhīna Lā Ya`qilūna  | Verily! The worst of (moving) living creatures with Allāh are the deaf and the dumb, those who understand not (i.e. the disbelievers). (Al-Anfal 8:22) | إِنَّ شَرَّ الدَّوَابِّ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ الصُّمُّ الْبُكْمُ الَّذِينَ لاَ يَعْقِلُونَ |
Wa Law `Alima Allāhu Fīhim Khayrāan La'asma`ahum Wa Law 'Asma`ahum Latawallaw Wa Hum Mu`riđūna  | Had Allāh known of any good in them, He would indeed have made them listen, and even if He had made them listen, they would but have turned away, averse (to the truth). (Al-Anfal 8:23) | وَلَوْ عَلِمَ اللَّهُ فِيهِمْ خَيْرا ً لَأَسْمَعَهُمْ وَلَوْ أَسْمَعَهُمْ لَتَوَلَّوا وَهُمْ مُعْرِضُونَ |
Yā 'Ayyuhā Al-Ladhīna 'Āmanū Astajībū Lillāhi Wa Lilrrasūli 'Idhā Da`ākum Limā Yuĥyīkum Wa A`lamū 'Anna Allāha Yaĥūlu Bayna Al-Mar'i Wa Qalbihi Wa 'Annahu 'Ilayhi Tuĥsharūna  | O you who believe! Answer Allāh (by obeying Him) and (His) Messenger when he (SAW) calls you[] to that which will give you life,[] and know that Allāh comes in between a person and his heart (i.e. He prevents an evil person to decide anything). And verily to Him you shall (all) be gathered. (Al-Anfal 8:24) | يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا اسْتَجِيبُوا لِلَّهِ وَلِلرَّسُولِ إِذَا دَعَاكُمْ لِمَا يُحْيِيكُمْ وَاعْلَمُوا أَنَّ اللَّهَ يَحُولُ بَيْنَ الْمَرْءِ وَقَلْبِه ِِ وَأَنَّهُ~ُ إِلَيْهِ تُحْشَرُونَ |
Wa Attaqū Fitnatan Lā Tuşībanna Al-Ladhīna Žalamū Minkum Khāşşatan Wa A`lamū 'Anna Allāha Shadīdu Al-`Iqābi  | And fear the Fitnah (affliction and trial, etc.) which affects not in particular (only) those of you who do wrong (but it may afflict all the good and the bad people), and know that Allāh is Severe in punishment. (Al-Anfal 8:25) | وَاتَّقُوا فِتْنَة ً لاَ تُصِيبَنَّ الَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا مِنْكُمْ خَاصَّة ً وَاعْلَمُوا أَنَّ اللَّهَ شَدِيدُ الْعِقَابِ |
Wa Adhkurū 'Idh 'Antum Qalīlun Mustađ`afūna Fī Al-'Arđi Takhāfūna 'An Yatakhaţţafakumu An-Nāsu Fa'āwākum Wa 'Ayyadakum Binaşrihi Wa Razaqakum Mina Aţ-Ţayyibāti La`allakum Tashkurūna  | And remember when you were few and were reckoned weak in the land, and were afraid that men might kidnap you, but He provided a safe place for you, strengthened you with His Help, and provided you with good things so that you might be grateful. (Al-Anfal 8:26) | وَاذْكُرُوا إِذْ أَنْتُمْ قَلِيل ٌ مُسْتَضْعَفُونَ فِي الأَرْضِ تَخَافُونَ أَنْ يَتَخَطَّفَكُمُ النَّاسُ فَآوَاكُمْ وَأَيَّدَكُمْ بِنَصْرِه ِِ وَرَزَقَكُمْ مِنَ الطَّيِّبَاتِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُونَ |
Yā 'Ayyuhā Al-Ladhīna 'Āmanū Lā Takhūnū Allāha Wa Ar-Rasūla Wa Takhūnū 'Amānātikum Wa 'Antum Ta`lamūna  | O you who believe! Betray not Allāh and His Messenger, nor betray knowingly your Amānāt (things entrusted to you, and all the duties which Allāh has ordained for you).[] (Al-Anfal 8:27) | يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لاَ تَخُونُوا اللَّهَ وَالرَّسُولَ وَتَخُونُوا أَمَانَاتِكُمْ وَأَنْتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ |
Wa A`lamū 'Annamā 'Amwālukum Wa 'Awlādukum Fitnatun Wa 'Anna Allāha `Indahu 'Ajrun `Ažīmun  | And know that your possessions and your children are but a trial and that surely with Allāh is a mighty reward. (Al-Anfal 8:28) | وَاعْلَمُوا أَنَّمَا أَمْوَالُكُمْ وَأَوْلاَدُكُمْ فِتْنَة ٌ وَأَنَّ اللَّهَ عِنْدَهُ~ُ أَجْرٌ عَظِيم ٌ |
Yā 'Ayyuhā Al-Ladhīna 'Āmanū 'In Tattaqū Allāha Yaj`al Lakum Furqānāan Wa Yukaffir `Ankum Sayyi'ātikum Wa Yaghfir Lakum Wa Allāhu Dhū Al-Fađli Al-`Ažīmi  | O you who believe! If you obey and fear Allāh, He will grant you Furqān a criterion [(to judge between right and wrong), or (Makhraj, i.e. making a way for you to get out from every difficulty)], and will expiate for you your sins, and forgive you, and Allāh is the Owner of the Great Bounty. (Al-Anfal 8:29) | يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِنْ تَتَّقُوا اللَّهَ يَجْعَلْ لَكُمْ فُرْقَانا ً وَيُكَفِّرْ عَنكُمْ سَيِّئَاتِكُمْ وَيَغْفِرْ لَكُمْ وَاللَّهُ ذُو الْفَضْلِ الْعَظِيمِ |
Wa 'Idh Yamkuru Bika Al-Ladhīna Kafarū Liyuthbitūka 'Aw Yaqtulūka 'Aw Yukhrijūka Wa Yamkurūna Wa Yamkuru Allāhu Wa Allāhu Khayru Al-Mākirīna  | And (remember) when the disbelievers plotted against you (O Muhammad SAW) to imprison you, or to kill you, or to get you out (from your home, i.e. Makkah); they were plotting and Allāh too was planning, and Allāh is the Best of the planners. (Al-Anfal 8:30) | وَإِذْ يَمْكُرُ بِكَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا لِيُثْبِتُوكَ أَوْ يَقْتُلُوكَ أَوْ يُخْرِجُوكَ وَيَمْكُرُونَ وَيَمْكُرُ اللَّهُ وَاللَّهُ خَيْرُ الْمَاكِرِينَ |
Wa 'Idhā Tutlá `Alayhim 'Āyātunā Qālū Qad Sami`nā Law Nashā'u Laqulnā Mithla Hādhā 'In Hādhā 'Illā 'Asāţīru Al-'Awwalīna  | And when Our Verses (of the Qur'ān) are recited to them, they say: "We have heard this (the Qur'ān); if we wish we can say the like of this. This is nothing but the tales of the ancients." (Al-Anfal 8:31) | وَإِذَا تُتْلَى عَلَيْهِمْ آيَاتُنَا قَالُوا قَدْ سَمِعْنَا لَوْ نَشَاءُ لَقُلْنَا مِثْلَ هَذَا إِنْ هَذَا إِلاَّ أَسَاطِيرُ الأَوَّلِينَ |
Wa 'Idh Qālū Al-Lahumma 'In Kāna Hādhā Huwa Al-Ĥaqqa Min `Indika Fa'amţir `Alaynā Ĥijāratan Mina As-Samā'i 'Aw A'tinā Bi`adhābin 'Alīmin  | And (remember) when they said: "O Allāh! If this (the Qur'ān) is indeed the truth (revealed) from You, then rain down stones on us from the sky or bring on us a painful torment." (Al-Anfal 8:32) | وَإِذْ قَالُوا اللَّهُمَّ إِنْ كَانَ هَذَا هُوَ الْحَقَّ مِنْ عِنْدِكَ فَأَمْطِرْ عَلَيْنَا حِجَارَة ً مِنَ السَّمَاءِ أَوْ ائْتِنَا بِعَذَابٍ أَلِيم ٍ |
Wa Mā Kāna Allāhu Liyu`adhdhibahum Wa 'Anta Fīhim Wa Mā Kāna Allāhu Mu`adhdhibahum Wa Hum Yastaghfirūna  | And Allāh would not punish them while you (Muhammad SAW) are amongst them, nor will He punish them while they seek (Allāh's) Forgiveness. (Al-Anfal 8:33) | وَمَا كَانَ اللَّهُ لِيُعَذِّبَهُمْ وَأَنْتَ فِيهِمْ وَمَا كَانَ اللَّهُ مُعَذِّبَهُمْ وَهُمْ يَسْتَغْفِرُونَ |
Wa Mā Lahum 'Allā Yu`adhdhibahumu Allāhu Wa Hum Yaşuddūna `Ani Al-Masjidi Al-Ĥarāmi Wa Mā Kānū 'Awliyā'ahu 'In 'Awliyā'uuhu 'Illā Al-Muttaqūna Wa Lakinna 'Aktharahum Lā Ya`lamūna  | And why should not Allāh punish them while they stop (men) from Al-Masjid-al-Harām, and they are not its guardians? None can be its guardian except Al-Muttaqûn (the pious - see V.2:2), but most of them know not. (Al-Anfal 8:34) | وَمَا لَهُمْ أَلاَّ يُعَذِّبَهُمُ اللَّهُ وَهُمْ يَصُدُّونَ عَنِ الْمَسْجِدِ الْحَرَامِ وَمَا كَانُوا أَوْلِيَاءَهُ~ُ إِنْ أَوْلِيَاؤُهُ~ُ إِلاَّ الْمُتَّقُونَ وَلَكِنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ لاَ يَعْلَمُونَ |
Wa Mā Kāna Şalātuhum `Inda Al-Bayti 'Illā Mukā'an Wa Taşdiyatan Fadhūqū Al-`Adhāba Bimā Kuntum Takfurūna  | Their Salāt (prayer) at the House (of Allāh, i.e. the Ka'bah at Makkah) was nothing but whistling and clapping of hands. Therefore taste the punishment because you used to disbelieve. (Al-Anfal 8:35) | وَمَا كَانَ صَلاَتُهُمْ عِنْدَ الْبَيْتِ إِلاَّ مُكَاء ً وَتَصْدِيَة ً فَذُوقُوا الْعَذَابَ بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَكْفُرُونَ |
'Inna Al-Ladhīna Kafarū Yunfiqūna 'Amwālahum Liyaşuddū `An Sabīli Allāhi Fasayunfiqūnahā Thumma Takūnu `Alayhim Ĥasratan Thumma Yughlabūna Wa Al-Ladhīna Kafarū 'Ilá Jahannama Yuĥsharūna  | Verily, those who disbelieve spend their wealth to hinder (men) from the Path of Allāh, and so will they continue to spend it; but in the end it will become an anguish for them. Then they will be overcomed. And those who disbelieve will be gathered unto Hell. (Al-Anfal 8:36) | إِنَّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا يُنْفِقُونَ أَمْوَالَهُمْ لِيَصُدُّوا عَنْ سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ فَسَيُنفِقُونَهَا ثُمَّ تَكُونُ عَلَيْهِمْ حَسْرَة ً ثُمَّ يُغْلَبُونَ وَالَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا إِلَى جَهَنَّمَ يُحْشَرُونَ |
Liyamīza Allāhu Al-Khabītha Mina Aţ-Ţayyibi Wa Yaj`ala Al-Khabītha Ba`đahu `Alá Ba`đin Fayarkumahu Jamī`āan Fayaj`alahu Fī Jahannama 'Ūlā'ika Humu Al-Khāsirūna  | In order that Allāh may distinguish the wicked (disbelievers, polytheists and doers of evil deeds) from the good (believers of Islāmic Monotheism and doers of righteous deeds), and put the wicked (disbelievers, polytheists and doers of evil deeds) one on another, heap them together and cast them into Hell. Those! it is they who are the losers. (Al-Anfal 8:37) | لِيَمِيزَ اللَّهُ الْخَبِيثَ مِنَ الطَّيِّبِ وَيَجْعَلَ الْخَبِيثَ بَعْضَه ُُ عَلَى بَعْض ٍ فَيَرْكُمَه ُُ جَمِيعا ً فَيَجْعَلَه ُُ فِي جَهَنَّمَ أُوْلَائِكَ هُمُ الْخَاسِرُونَ |
Qul Lilladhīna Kafarū 'In Yantahū Yughfar Lahum Mā Qad Salafa Wa 'In Ya`ūdū Faqad Mađat Sunnatu Al-'Awwalīna  | Say to those who have disbelieved, if they cease (from disbelief) their past will be forgiven. But if they return (thereto), then the examples of those (punished) before them have already preceded (as a warning). (Al-Anfal 8:38) | قُلْ لِلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا إِنْ يَنتَهُوا يُغْفَرْ لَهُمْ مَا قَدْ سَلَفَ وَإِنْ يَعُودُوا فَقَدْ مَضَتْ سُنَّةُ الأَوَّلِينَ |
Wa Qātilūhum Ĥattá Lā Takūna Fitnatun Wa Yakūna Ad-Dīnu Kulluhu Lillāhi Fa'ini Antahaw Fa'inna Allāha Bimā Ya`malūna Başīrun  | And fight them until there is no more Fitnah (disbelief and polytheism: i.e. worshipping others besides Allāh) and the religion (worship) will all be for Allāh Alone [in the whole of the world[]]. But if they cease (worshipping others besides Allāh), then certainly, Allāh is All-Seer of what they do. (Al-Anfal 8:39) | وَقَاتِلُوهُمْ حَتَّى لاَ تَكُونَ فِتْنَة ٌ وَيَكُونَ الدِّينُ كُلُّه ُُ لِلَّهِ فَإِنِ انتَهَوْا فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ بِمَا يَعْمَلُونَ بَصِير ٌ |
Wa 'In Tawallaw Fā`lamū 'Anna Allāha Mawlākum Ni`ma Al-Mawlá Wa Ni`ma An-Naşīru  | And if they turn away, then know that Allāh is your Maulā (Patron, Lord, Protector and Supporter, etc.), (what) an Excellent Maulā, and (what) an Excellent Helper! (Al-Anfal 8:40) | وَإِنْ تَوَلَّوْا فَاعْلَمُوا أَنَّ اللَّهَ مَوْلاَكُمْ نِعْمَ الْمَوْلَى وَنِعْمَ النَّصِيرُ |
Wa A`lamū 'Annamā Ghanimtum Min Shay'in Fa'anna Lillāhi Khumusahu Wa Lilrrasūli Wa Lidhī Al-Qurbá Wa Al-Yatāmá Wa Al-Masākīni Wa Abni As-Sabīli 'In Kuntum 'Āmantum Billāhi Wa Mā 'Anzalnā `Alá `Abdinā Yawma Al-Furqāni Yawma At-Taqá Al-Jam`āni Wa Allāhu `Alá Kulli Shay'in Qadīrun  | And know that whatever of war-booty that you may gain, verily one-fifth (1/5th) of it is assigned to Allāh, and to the Messenger, and to the near relatives [of the Messenger (Muhammad SAW)], (and also) the orphans, Al-Masākin (the poor) and the wayfarer, if you have believed in Allāh and in that which We sent down to Our slave (Muhammad SAW) on the Day of criterion (between right and wrong), the Day when the two forces met (the battle of Badr) - And Allāh is Able to do all things. (Al-Anfal 8:41) | وَاعْلَمُوا أَنَّمَا غَنِمْتُمْ مِنْ شَيْء ٍ فَأَنَّ لِلَّهِ خُمُسَه ُُ وَلِلرَّسُولِ وَلِذِي الْقُرْبَى وَالْيَتَامَى وَالْمَسَاكِينِ وَابْنِ السَّبِيلِ إِنْ كُنتُمْ آمَنْتُمْ بِاللَّهِ وَمَا أَنزَلْنَا عَلَى عَبْدِنَا يَوْمَ الْفُرْقَانِ يَوْمَ الْتَقَى الْجَمْعَانِ وَاللَّهُ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْء ٍ قَدِير ٌ |
'Idh 'Antum Bil-`Udwati Ad-Dunyā Wa Hum Bil-`Udwati Al-Quşwá Wa Ar-Rakbu 'Asfala Minkum Wa Law Tawā`adttum Lākhtalaftum Fī Al-Mī`ādi Wa Lakin Liyaqđiya Allāhu 'Amrāan Kāna Maf`ūlāan Liyahlika Man Halaka `An Bayyinatin Wa Yaĥyá Man Ĥayya `An Bayyinatin Wa 'Inna Allāha Lasamī`un `Alīmun  | (And remember) when you (the Muslim army) were on the near side of the valley, and they on the farther side, and the caravan on the ground lower than you. Even if you had made a mutual appointment to meet, you would certainly have failed in the appointment, but (you met) that Allāh might accomplish a matter already ordained (in His Knowledge); so that those who were to be destroyed (for their rejecting the Faith) might be destroyed after a clear evidence, and those who were to live (i.e. believers) might live after a clear evidence. And surely, Allāh is All-Hearer, All-Knower. (Al-Anfal 8:42) | إِذْ أَنْتُمْ بِالْعُدْوَةِ الدُّنْيَا وَهُمْ بِالْعُدْوَةِ الْقُصْوَى وَالرَّكْبُ أَسْفَلَ مِنْكُمْ وَلَوْ تَوَاعَدتُّمْ لاَخْتَلَفْتُمْ فِي الْمِيعَادِ وَلَكِنْ لِيَقْضِيَ اللَّهُ أَمْرا ً كَانَ مَفْعُولا ً لِيَهْلِكَ مَنْ هَلَكَ عَنْ بَيِّنَة ٍ وَيَحْيَى مَنْ حَيَّ عَنْ بَيِّنَة ٍ وَإِنَّ اللَّهَ لَسَمِيعٌ عَلِيم ٌ |
'Idh Yurīkahumu Allāhu Fī Manāmika Qalīlāan Wa Law 'Arākahum Kathīrāan Lafashiltum Wa Latanāza`tum Fī Al-'Amri Wa Lakinna Allāha Sallama 'Innahu `Alīmun Bidhāti Aş-Şudūri  | (And remember) when Allāh showed them to you as few in your (i.e. Muhammad's SAW) dream, if He had shown them to you as many, you would surely have been discouraged, and you would surely have disputed in making a decision. But Allāh saved (you). Certainly, He is the All-Knower of what is in the breasts. (Al-Anfal 8:43) | إِذْ يُرِيكَهُمُ اللَّهُ فِي مَنَامِكَ قَلِيلا ً وَلَوْ أَرَاكَهُمْ كَثِيرا ً لَفَشِلْتُمْ وَلَتَنَازَعْتُمْ فِي الأَمْرِ وَلَكِنَّ اللَّهَ سَلَّمَ إِنَّه ُُ عَلِيم ٌ بِذَاتِ الصُّدُورِ |
Wa 'Idh Yurīkumūhum 'Idhi At-Taqaytum Fī 'A`yunikum Qalīlāan Wa Yuqallilukum Fī 'A`yunihim Liyaqđiya Allāhu 'Amrāan Kāna Maf`ūlāan Wa 'Ilá Allāhi Turja`u Al-'Umūru  | And (remember) when you met (the army of the disbelievers on the Day of the battle of Badr), He showed them to you as few in your eyes and He made you appear as few in their eyes, so that Allāh might accomplish a matter already ordained (in His Knowledge), and to Allāh return all matters (for decision). (Al-Anfal 8:44) | وَإِذْ يُرِيكُمُوهُمْ إِذِ الْتَقَيْتُمْ فِي أَعْيُنِكُمْ قَلِيلا ً وَيُقَلِّلُكُمْ فِي أَعْيُنِهِمْ لِيَقْضِيَ اللَّهُ أَمْرا ً كَانَ مَفْعُولا ً وَإِلَى اللَّهِ تُرْجَعُ الأُمُورُ |
Yā 'Ayyuhā Al-Ladhīna 'Āmanū 'Idhā Laqītum Fi'atan Fāthbutū Wa Adhkurū Allāha Kathīrāan La`allakum Tufliĥūna  | O you who believe! When you meet (an enemy) force, take a firm stand against them and remember the Name of Allāh much (both with tongue and mind), so that you may be successful. (Al-Anfal 8:45) | يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِذَا لَقِيتُمْ فِئَة ً فَاثْبُتُوا وَاذْكُرُوا اللَّهَ كَثِيرا ً لَعَلَّكُمْ تُفْلِحُونَ |
Wa 'Aţī`ū Allāha Wa Rasūlahu Wa Lā Tanāza`ū Fatafshalū Wa Tadh/haba Rīĥukum Wa Aşbirū 'Inna Allāha Ma`a Aş-Şābirīna  | And obey Allāh and His Messenger, and do not dispute (with one another) lest you lose courage and your strength depart, and be patient. Surely, Allāh is with those who are As-Sābirin (the patient ones, etc.). (Al-Anfal 8:46) | وَأَطِيعُوا اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَه ُُ وَلاَ تَنَازَعُوا فَتَفْشَلُوا وَتَذْهَبَ رِيحُكُمْ وَاصْبِرُوا إِنَّ اللَّهَ مَعَ الصَّابِرِينَ |
Wa Lā Takūnū Kālladhīna Kharajū Min Diyārihim Baţarāan Wa Ri'ā'a An-Nāsi Wa Yaşuddūna `An Sabīli Allāhi Wa Allāhu Bimā Ya`malūna Muĥīţun  | And be not like those who come out of their homes boastfully and to be seen of men, and hinder (men) from the Path of Allāh. and Allāh is Muhītun (encircling and thoroughly comprehending) all that they do. (Al-Anfal 8:47) | وَلاَ تَكُونُوا كَالَّذِينَ خَرَجُوا مِنْ دِيَارِهِمْ بَطَرا ً وَرِئَاءَ النَّاسِ وَيَصُدُّونَ عَنْ سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ وَاللَّهُ بِمَا يَعْمَلُونَ مُحِيط ٌ |
Wa 'Idh Zayyana Lahumu Ash-Shayţānu 'A`mālahum Wa Qāla Lā Ghāliba Lakumu Al-Yawma Mina An-Nāsi Wa 'Innī Jārun Lakum Falammā Tarā'ati Al-Fi'atāni Nakaşa `Alá `Aqibayhi Wa Qāla 'Innī Barī'un Minkum 'Innī 'Ará Mā Lā Tarawna 'Inniyi 'Akhāfu Allāha Wa Allāhu Shadīdu Al-`Iqābi  | And (remember) when Shaitān (Satan) made their (evil) deeds seem fair to them and said, "No one of mankind can overcome you this Day (of the battle of Badr) and verily, I am your neighbour (for each and every help)." But when the two forces came in sight of each other, he ran away and said "Verily, I have nothing to do with you. Verily! I see what you see not. Verily! I fear Allāh for Allāh is Severe in punishment." (Al-Anfal 8:48) | وَإِذْ زَيَّنَ لَهُمُ الشَّيْطَانُ أَعْمَالَهُمْ وَقَالَ لاَ غَالِبَ لَكُمُ الْيَوْمَ مِنَ النَّاسِ وَإِنِّي جَار ٌ لَكُمْ فَلَمَّا تَرَاءَتِ الْفِئَتَانِ نَكَصَ عَلَى عَقِبَيْهِ وَقَالَ إِنِّي بَرِيء ٌ مِنْكُمْ إِنِّي أَرَى مَا لاَ تَرَوْنَ إِنِّيِ أَخَافُ اللَّهَ وَاللَّهُ شَدِيدُ الْعِقَابِ |
'Idh Yaqūlu Al-Munāfiqūna Wa Al-Ladhīna Fī Qulūbihim Marađun Gharra Hā'uulā' Dīnuhum Wa Man Yatawakkal `Alá Allāhi Fa'inna Allāha `Azīzun Ĥakīmun  | When the hypocrites and those in whose hearts was a disease (of disbelief) said: "These people (Muslims) are deceived by their religion." But whoever puts his trust in Allāh, then surely, Allāh is All-Mighty, All-Wise. (Al-Anfal 8:49) | إِذْ يَقُولُ الْمُنَافِقُونَ وَالَّذِينَ فِي قُلُوبِهِمْ مَرَضٌ غَرَّ هَاؤُلاَء دِينُهُمْ وَمَنْ يَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى اللَّهِ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزِيزٌ حَكِيم ٌ |
Wa Law Tará 'Idh Yatawaffá Al-Ladhīna Kafarū Al-Malā'ikatu Yađribūna Wujūhahum Wa 'Adbārahum Wa Dhūqū `Adhāba Al-Ĥarīqi  | And if you could see when the angels take away the souls of those who disbelieve (at death), they smite their faces and their backs, (saying): "Taste the punishment of the blazing Fire." (Al-Anfal 8:50) | وَلَوْ تَرَى إِذْ يَتَوَفَّى الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا الْمَلاَئِكَةُ يَضْرِبُونَ وُجُوهَهُمْ وَأَدْبَارَهُمْ وَذُوقُوا عَذَابَ الْحَرِيقِ |
Dhālika Bimā Qaddamat 'Aydīkum Wa 'Anna Allāha Laysa Bižallāmin Lil`abīdi  | "This is because of that which your hands had forwarded. And verily, Allāh is not unjust to His slaves." (Al-Anfal 8:51) | ذَلِكَ بِمَا قَدَّمَتْ أَيْدِيكُمْ وَأَنَّ اللَّهَ لَيْسَ بِظَلاَّم ٍ لِلْعَبِيدِ |
Kada'bi 'Āli Fir`awna Wa Al-Ladhīna Min Qablihim Kafarū Bi'āyāti Allāhi Fa'akhadhahumu Allāhu Bidhunūbihim 'Inna Allāha Qawīyun Shadīdu Al-`Iqābi  | Similar to the behaviour of the people of Fir'aun (Pharaoh), and of those before them; they rejected the Ayāt (proofs, verses, etc.) of Allāh, so Allāh punished them for their sins. Verily, Allāh is All-Strong, Severe in punishment. (Al-Anfal 8:52) | كَدَأْبِ آلِ فِرْعَوْنَ وَالَّذِينَ مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْ كَفَرُوا بِآيَاتِ اللَّهِ فَأَخَذَهُمُ اللَّهُ بِذُنُوبِهِمْ إِنَّ اللَّهَ قَوِيّ ٌ شَدِيدُ الْعِقَابِ |
Dhālika Bi'anna Allāha Lam Yaku Mughayyirāan Ni`matan 'An`amahā `Alá Qawmin Ĥattá Yughayyirū Mā Bi'anfusihim Wa 'Anna Allāha Samī`un `Alīmun  | That is so because Allāh will never change a grace which He has bestowed on a people until they change what is in their ownselves. And verily, Allāh is All-Hearer, All-Knower. (Al-Anfal 8:53) | ذَلِكَ بِأَنَّ اللَّهَ لَمْ يَكُ مُغَيِّرا ً نِعْمَةً أَنْعَمَهَا عَلَى قَوْمٍ حَتَّى يُغَيِّرُوا مَا بِأَنفُسِهِمْ وَأَنَّ اللَّهَ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيم ٌ |
| Kada'bi 'Āli Fir`awna Wa Al-Ladhīna Min Qablihim Kadhdhabū Bi'āyāti Rabbihim Fa'ahlaknāhum Bidhunūbihim Wa 'Aghraqnā 'Āla Fir`awna Wa Kullun Kānū Žālimīna |
