111) سُورَة المَسَد

Tabbat Yadā 'Abī Lahabin Wa Tabba Perish the hands of Abu Lahab! And perish he![111.1] تَبَّتْ يَدَا أَبِي لَهَب ٍ وَتَبَّ
Mā 'Aghná `Anhu Māluhu Wa Mā Kasaba His wealth and whatever he earned did not avail him anything.[111.2] مَا أَغْنَى عَنْهُ مَالُه ُُ وَمَا كَسَبَ
Sayaşlá Nārāan Dhāta Lahabin Soon he shall be burnt in a flaming fire (a pun on the meaning of Abu Lahab, "father of flames”),[111.3] سَيَصْلَى نَارا ً ذَاتَ لَهَب ٍ
Wa Amra'atuhu Ĥammālata Al-Ĥaţabi and his wife, the carrier of crackling fire wood,[111.4] وَامْرَأَتُه ُُ حَمَّالَةَ الْحَطَبِ
Fī Jīdihā Ĥablun Min Masadin shall have a rope of palm-leaf fibre around her neck.[111.5] فِي جِيدِهَا حَبْل ٌ مِنْ مَسَد ٍ
