| Tabbat Yadā 'Abī Lahabin Wa Tabba    | Perish the hands of Abu Lahab! And perish he![111.1] | تَبَّتْ يَدَا أَبِي لَهَبٍ وَتَبَّ | 
   | Mā 'Aghná `Anhu Māluhu Wa Mā Kasaba    | His wealth and whatever he earned did not avail him anything.[111.2] | مَا أَغْنَى عَنْهُ مَالُهُُوَمَا كَسَبَ | 
   | Sayaşlá Nārāan Dhāta Lahabin    | Soon he shall be burnt in a flaming fire (a pun on the meaning of Abu Lahab, "father of flames”),[111.3] | سَيَصْلَى نَاراً ذَاتَ لَهَبٍ | 
   |  Wa Amra'atuhu Ĥammālata Al-Ĥaţabi    | and his wife, the carrier of crackling fire wood,[111.4] | وَامْرَأَتُهُُحَمَّالَةَ الْحَطَبِ | 
   | Fī Jīdihā Ĥablun Min Masadin    | shall have a rope of palm-leaf fibre around her neck.[111.5] | فِي جِيدِهَا حَبْلٌ مِنْ مَسَدٍ |
