| Tabbat Yadā 'Abī Lahabin Wa Tabba | Perish the hands of Abu Lahab! And perish he![111.1] | تَبَّتْ يَدَا أَبِي لَهَب ٍ وَتَبَّ |
| Mā 'Aghná `Anhu Māluhu Wa Mā Kasaba | His wealth and whatever he earned did not avail him anything.[111.2] | مَا أَغْنَى عَنْهُ مَالُه ُُ وَمَا كَسَبَ |
| Sayaşlá Nārāan Dhāta Lahabin | Soon he shall be burnt in a flaming fire (a pun on the meaning of Abu Lahab, "father of flames”),[111.3] | سَيَصْلَى نَارا ً ذَاتَ لَهَب ٍ |
| Wa Amra'atuhu Ĥammālata Al-Ĥaţabi | and his wife, the carrier of crackling fire wood,[111.4] | وَامْرَأَتُه ُُ حَمَّالَةَ الْحَطَبِ |
| Fī Jīdihā Ĥablun Min Masadin | shall have a rope of palm-leaf fibre around her neck.[111.5] | فِي جِيدِهَا حَبْل ٌ مِنْ مَسَد ٍ |
