| Wa Al-Fajri    | By the morning,[89.1] | وَالْفَجْرِ | 
   |  Wa Layālin `Ashrin    | and the ten nights (first ten days of Dhul-Hijja),[89.2] | وَلَيَالٍ عَشْرٍ | 
   | Wa Ash-Shaf`i Wa Al-Watri    | the even and the odd,[89.3] | وَالشَّفْعِ وَالْوَتْرِ | 
   | Wa Al-Layli 'Idhā Yasri    | and the night when it departs![89.4] | وَاللَّيْلِ إِذَا يَسْرِ | 
   | Hal Fī Dhālika Qasamun Lidhī Ĥijrin    | Is there not in these an oath (enough evidence) for those who use their common sense?[89.5] | هَلْ فِي ذَلِكَ قَسَم ٌ لِذِي حِجْرٍ | 
   | 'Alam Tara Kayfa Fa`ala Rabbuka Bi`ādin    | Have you not seen how your Rabb dealt with ‘Ad?[89.6] | أَلَمْ تَرَ كَيْفَ فَعَلَ رَبُّكَ بِعَادٍ | 
   | 'Irama Dhāti Al-`Imādi    | The residents of Iram, the city of lofty pillars,[89.7] | إِرَمَ ذَاتِ الْعِمَادِ | 
   | Allatī Lam Yukhlaq Mithluhā Fī Al-Bilādi    | the like of which had never been built in other cities.[89.8] | الَّتِي لَمْ يُخْلَقْ مِثْلُهَا فِي الْبِلاَدِ | 
   |  Wa Thamūda Al-Ladhīna Jābū Aş-Şakhra Bil-Wādi    | And with the people of Thamüd who hewed out their dwellings in the rocks of the valley?[89.9] | وَثَمُودَ الَّذِينَ جَابُوا الصَّخْرَ بِالْوَادِ | 
   |  Wa Fir`awna Dhī Al-'Awtādi    | And with Fir'on (Pharaoh) the owner of stakes?[89.10] | وَفِرْعَوْنَ ذِي الأَوْتَادِ | 
   | Al-Ladhīna Ţaghaw Fī Al-Bilādi    | They all transgressed beyond bounds in their cities,[89.11] | الَّذِينَ طَغَوْا فِي الْبِلاَدِ | 
   | Fa'aktharū Fīhā Al-Fasāda    | and committed great mischief therein.[89.12] | فَأَكْثَرُوا فِيهَا الْفَسَادَ | 
   | Faşabba `Alayhim Rabbuka Sawţa `Adhābin    | Therefore, your Rabb let loose on them His scourge of torment.[89.13] | فَصَبَّ عَلَيْهِمْ رَبُّكَ سَوْطَ عَذَابٍ | 
   | 'Inna Rabbaka Labiālmirşādi    | Surely your Rabb is ever watchful.[89.14] | إِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَبِالْمِرْصَادِ | 
   | Fa'ammā Al-'Insānu 'Idhā Mā Abtalāhu Rabbuhu Fa'akramahu Wa Na``amahu Fayaqūlu Rabbī 'Akramani    | As for man, when his Rabb tries him through giving him honor and blessings, he says: “My Rabb is bountiful to me."[89.15] | فَأَمَّا الإِنسَانُ إِذَا مَا ابْتَلاَهُُرَبُّهُُفَأَكْرَمَهُُوَنَعَّمَهُُفَيَقُولُ رَبِّي أَكْرَمَنِ | 
   |  Wa 'Ammā 'Idhā Mā Abtalāhu Faqadara `Alayhi Rizqahu Fayaqūlu Rabbī 'Ahānani    | But when He tries him through restricting his subsistence, he says: “My Rabb has humiliated me."[89.16] | وَأَمَّا إِذَا مَا ابْتَلاَهُُفَقَدَرَ عَلَيْهِ رِزْقَهُُفَيَقُولُ رَبِّي أَهَانَنِ | 
   | Kallā Bal Lā Tukrimūna Al-Yatīma    | Nay! But you did not show kindness to the orphan,[89.17] | كَلاَّ بَل لاَ تُكْرِمُونَ الْيَتِيمَ | 
   |  Wa Lā Taĥāđđūna `Alá Ţa`āmi Al-Miskīni    | nor did you encourage each other in feeding the poor.[89.18] | وَلاَ تَحَاضُّونَ عَلَى طَعَامِ الْمِسْكِينِ | 
   |  Wa Ta'kulūna At-Turātha 'Aklāan Lammāan    | Greedily you lay your hands on the inheritance of the weak,[89.19] | وَتَأْكُلُونَ التُّرَاثَ أَكْلاً لَمّاً | 
   |  Wa Tuĥibbūna Al-Māla Ĥubbāan Jammāan    | and you love wealth with all your hearts.[89.20] | وَتُحِبُّونَ الْمَالَ حُبّاً جَمّاً | 
   | Kallā 'Idhā Dukkati Al-'Arđu Dakkāan Dakkāan    | Nay! You should know, when the earth will be pounded to powder,[89.21] | كَلاَّ إِذَا دُكَّتِ الأَرْضُ دَكّاً دَكّاً | 
   |  Wa Jā'a Rabbuka Wa Al-Malaku Şaffāan Şaffāan    | your Rabb will come, with angels standing in ranks,[89.22] | وَجَاءَ رَبُّكَ وَالْمَلَكُ صَفّاً صَفّاً | 
   |  Wa Jī'a Yawma'idhin Bijahannama Yawma'idhin Yatadhakkaru Al-'Insānu Wa 'Anná Lahu Adh-Dhikrá    | hell shall be brought in sight. On that Day man will remember his deeds, but how is that remembrance going to profit him?[89.23] | وَجِيءَ يَوْمَئِذٍ بِجَهَنَّمَ يَوْمَئِذٍ يَتَذَكَّرُ الإِنْسَانُ وَأَنَّى لَهُ الذِّكْرَى | 
   | Yaqūlu Yā Laytanī Qaddamtu Liĥayātī    | He will say: “Alas! Would that I had sent forth some good deeds for this life of mine."[89.24] | يَقُولُ يَا لَيْتَنِي قَدَّمْتُ لِحَيَاتِي | 
   | Fayawma'idhin Lā Yu`adhdhibu `Adhābahu 'Aĥadun    | None can punish as Allah will punish on that Day,[89.25] | فَيَوْمَئِذٍ لاَ يُعَذِّبُ عَذَابَهُ~ُ أَحَدٌ | 
   |  Wa Lā Yūthiqu Wathāqahu 'Aĥadun    | and none can bind as He will bind.[89.26] | وَلاَ يُوثِقُ وَثَاقَهُ~ُ أَحَدٌ | 
   | Yā 'Ayyatuhā An-Nafsu Al-Muţma'innahu    | To the righteous soul it will be said: “O fully satisfied soul![89.27] | يَا أَيَّتُهَا النَّفْسُ الْمُطْمَئِنَّةُ | 
   | Arji`ī 'Ilá Rabbiki Rāđiyatan Marđīyahan    | Return to your Rabb, well pleased with Him and well-pleasing to Him.[89.28] | ارْجِعِي إِلَى رَبِّكِ رَاضِيَةً مَرْضِيَّةً | 
   | Fādkhulī Fī `Ibādī    | Join My servants,[89.29] | فَادْخُلِي فِي عِبَادِي | 
   |  Wa Adkhulī Jannatī    | and enter My paradise."[89.30] | وَادْخُلِي جَنَّتِي |
