Wa As-Samā'i Wa Aţ-Ţāriqi By the heaven and by the visitant by night,[86.1]
Wa Mā 'Adrāka Mā Aţ-Ţāriqu and what will explain to you what the visitant by night is?[86.2]
An-Najmu Ath-Thāqibu It is the star of piercing brightness.[86.3]
'In Kullu Nafsin Lammā `Alayhā Ĥāfižun (Just as Allah Almighty is taking care of each star in the galaxies, similarly) over each soul there is an appointed guardian angel.[86.4]
Falyanžuri Al-'Insānu Mimma Khuliqa Let man consider from what he is created![86.5]
Khuliqa Min Mā'in Dāfiqin He is created from an emitted fluid[86.6]
Yakhruju Min Bayni Aş-Şulbi Wa At-Tarā'ibi that is produced from between the loins and the ribs.[86.7]
'Innahu `Alá Raj`ihi Laqādirun Surely He, the Creator, has the power to bring him back to life,[86.8]
Yawma Tub As-Sarā'iru on the Day when the hidden secrets will be brought to scrutiny,[86.9]
Famā Lahu Min Qūwatin Wa Lā Nāşirin then he will have neither power of his own nor any helper to save him from the punishment of Allah.[86.10]
Wa As-Samā'i Dhāti Ar-Raj`i By the sky (having rain clouds) which sends down rain[86.11]
Wa Al-'Arđi Dhāti Aş-Şad`i and by the earth which is ever bursting with new growth;[86.12]
'Innahu Laqawlun Faşlun surely this Quran is a decisive word,[86.13]
Wa Mā Huwa Bil-Hazli and it is no joke.[86.14]
'Innahum Yakīdūna Kaydāan These unbelievers of Makkah are plotting a scheme:[86.15]
Wa 'Akīdu Kaydāan and I, too, am plotting a scheme.[86.16]
Famahhili Al-Kāfirīna 'Amhilhum Ruwaydāan Therefore, leave the unbelievers alone. Leave them alone for a while.[86.17]
