`Amm a Yatasā 'alū na       About what are they asking?[78.1]   عَمّ َ يَتَسَاءَلُو نَ   
   `Ani A n -Naba'i A l-`Ažī mi       About the mighty event[78.2]   عَنِ ا ل نَّ بَإِ ا لْعَظِي مِ   
   Al-Ladh ī Hum  Fī hi  Mukh talifū na       - the theme of their disputes.[78.3]   ا لَّذِي هُمْ فِي هِِ مُخْتَلِفُو نَ  
   Kallā Saya`lamū na       Very soon they shall come to know;[78.4]   كَلاَّ سَيَعْلَمُو نَ   
   Th umm a Kallā Saya`lamū na      We repeat, very soon they shall come to know.[78.5]   ثُمّ َ كَلاَّ سَيَعْلَمُو نَ   
   'Alam  Naj `ali A l-'Arđa Mihādāan       Is it not true that We have spread the earth like a bed,[78.6]   أَلَمْ نَجْ عَلِ ا لأَرْضَ مِهَاداً   
   Wa A l-Jibā la 'Awtādāan       and the mountains as pegs,[78.7]   وَالْجِبَا لَ أَوْتَاداً   
    Wa Kh alaq nākum  'Azwājāan       created you in pairs,[78.8]   وَخَلَقْ نَاكُمْ أَزْوَاجاً   
    Wa Ja`alnā Nawmakum  Subātāan       provided you rest in sleep,[78.9]   وَجَعَلْنَا نَوْمَكُمْ سُبَاتاً   
    Wa Ja`alnā A l-Layla Libāsāan       made the night a mantle,[78.10]   وَجَعَلْنَا ا ل لَّيْلَ لِبَاساً   
    Wa Ja`alnā A n -Nahā ra Ma`āsh āan       made the day to work for earning your livelihood,[78.11]   وَجَعَلْنَا ا ل نَّ هَا رَ مَعَاشاً   
    Wa Banaynā Fawqakum  Sab `āan  Sh idādāan       built above you seven firmaments,[78.12]   وَبَنَيْنَا فَوْقَكُمْ سَبْ عاً شِدَاداً   
    Wa Ja`alnā Sirājāan  Wa Hhājāan       placed therein a shining lamp,[78.13]   وَجَعَلْنَا سِرَاجاً  وَهَّاجاً   
    Wa 'An zalnā Mina A l-Mu`şirā ti Mā 'an  Th ajjājāan       sent down abundant water from the clouds,[78.14]   وَأَن زَلْنَا مِنَ ا لْمُعْصِرَا تِ مَا ءً ثَجَّاجاً   
   Linukh r ija Bihi Ĥabbāan  Wa Nabātāan       bringing forth grain, vegetation[78.15]   لِنُخْر ِجَ بِهِِ حَبّاً  وَنَبَاتاً   
    Wa Jann ā tin 'Alfāfāan       and gardens of luxurious growth?[78.16]   وَجَنّ َا تٍ أَلْفَافاً   
   'Inn a Yawma A l-Faşli Kā na Mīqātāan       The Day of decision is already fixed.[78.17]   إِنّ َ يَوْمَ ا لْفَصْلِ كَا نَ مِيقَاتاً   
   Yawma Yun fakh u Fī A ş-Şū r i Fata'tū na 'Afwājāan       On that Day, the Trumpet shall be sounded and you shall come forth in multitude.[78.18]   يَوْمَ يُن فَخُ فِي ا ل صُّو ر ِ فَتَأْتُو نَ أَفْوَاجاً   
    Wa Futiĥati A s-Samā 'u Fakānat 'Ab wābāan       The sky shall be opened as if there were doors.[78.19]   وَفُتِحَتِ ا ل سَّمَا ءُ فَكَانَتْ أَبْ وَاباً   
    Wa Suyyirati A l-Jibā lu Fakānat Sarābāan       The mountains shall vanish as if they were a mirage.[78.20]   وَسُيِّرَتِ ا لْجِبَا لُ فَكَانَتْ سَرَاباً   
   'Inn a Jahann ama Kānat Mir şādāan       For sure, the hell shall lie in ambush,[78.21]   إِنّ َ جَهَنَّ مَ كَا   
   Lilţţāgh ī na Ma'ā bāan       to become a home for the transgressors.[78.22]   لِلْطَّاغِي نَ مَآباً   
   Lābith ī na Fīhā  'Aĥqābāan       There they shall live for ages,[78.23]   لاَبِثِي نَ فِيهَا  أَحْقَاباً   
   Lā Yadh ūqū na Fīhā Bardāan  Wa Lā Sh arābāan       in it they shall taste neither refreshment nor drink,[78.24]   لاَ يَذُوقُو نَ فِيهَا بَرْداً  وَلاَ شَرَاباً   
   'Illā Ĥamīmāan  Wa Gh assāqāan       except scalding water and decaying filth:[78.25]   إِلاَّ حَمِيماً  وَغَسَّاقاً   
   Jazā 'an  Wifāqāan       a fitting recompense for their deeds.[78.26]   جَزَا  وِفَاقاً   
   'Inn ahum  Kānū Lā Yarjū na Ĥisābāan       For they never expected to be accountable,[78.27]   إِنَّ هُمْ كَا نُوا  لاَ يَرْجُو نَ حِسَاباً   
    Wa Kadh dh abū Bi'ā yātinā Kidh dh ābāan       and wittingly rejected Our revelations.[78.28]   وَكَذَّبُوا  بِآيَاتِنَا كِذَّاباً   
    Wa Kulla Sh ay'in 'Aĥşaynā hu  Kitābāan       But We had recorded everything in a Book.[78.29]   وَكُلَّ شَيْءٍ أَحْصَيْنَا هُُكِتَاباً   
   Fadh ūqū Falan  Nazīdakum  'Illā `Adh ābāan       It will be said: “Taste the fruits of your deeds! You shall have nothing but increase in punishment."[78.30]   فَذُوقُوا  فَلَن ْ نَزِيدَكُمْ إِلاَّ عَذَاباً   
   'Inn a Lilmuttaqī na Mafāzāan       On that Day, the righteous will certainly achieve their Heart’s desires:[78.31]   إِنّ َ لِلْمُتَّقِي نَ مَفَازاً   
   Ĥadā 'iqa Wa 'A`nābāan       beautiful gardens, vineyards;[78.32]   حَدَائِقَ وَأَعْنَاباً   
    Wa Kawā`iba 'Atrābāan       and young women of their own age,[78.33]   وَكَوَاعِبَ أَتْرَاباً   
    Wa Ka'sāan  Dihāqāan       and overflowing cups;[78.34]   وَكَأْساً دِهَاقاً   
   Lā Yasma`ū na Fīhā Lagh wan  Wa Lā Kidh dh ābāan       they shall hear no vanity, nor any falsehood;[78.35]   لاَ يَسْمَعُو نَ فِيهَا لَغْواً  وَلاَ كِذَّاباً   
   Jazā 'an  Min  Rabbika `Aţā 'an Ĥisābāan       - a recompense from your Rabb and a gift beyond their account[78.36]   جَزَا  مِن ْ رَبِّكَ عَطَا ءً حِسَاباً   
   Rabbi A s-Samāwā ti Wa A l-'Arđi Wa Mā Baynahumā A r-Raĥmā ni Lā Yam likū na Minhu Kh iţābāan       from the Compassionate, Who is the Rabb of the heavens, the earth and all that lies between them; before Whom no one shall be able to speak.[78.37]   رَبِّ ا ل سَّمَاوَا تِ وَالأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا ا ل رَّحْمَنِ لاَ يَمْلِكُو نَ مِنْهُ خِطَاباً   
   Yawma Yaqū mu A r-Rū ĥu Wa A l-Malā 'ikatu Şaffāan  Lā Yatakallamū na 'Illā Man 'Adh ina Lahu A r-Raĥmā nu Wa Qā la Şawābāan       On that Day, the Spirit (Gabriel) and the angels shall stand in their ranks; none shall speak except the one to whom the Compassionate (Allah) shall grant permission to speak, and he will speak straight to the point.[78.38]   يَوْمَ يَقُو مُ ا ل رُّو حُ وَالْمَلاَئِكَةُ صَفّاً  لاَ يَتَكَلَّمُو نَ إِلاَّ مَنْ أَذِنَ لَهُ ا ل رَّحْمَنُ وَقَا لَ صَوَاباً   
   Dh ālika A l-Yawmu A l-Ĥaqqu Faman  Sh ā 'a A kh adh a 'Ilá Rabbihi  Ma'ā bāan      That Day is a sure reality. Let him who desires, seek a way back to his Rabb.[78.39]   ذَلِكَ ا لْيَوْمُ ا لْحَقُّ فَمَن ْ شَا ءَ ا   
   'Inn ā  'An dh arnākum  `Adh ābāan  Qar ībāan  Yawma Yan žuru A l-Mar'u Mā Qaddamat Yadā hu  Wa Yaqū lu A l-Kāfir u Yā Laytanī Kun tu  Turābāan       Indeed We have forewarned you of an imminent punishment which lies close-at-hand, on the Day when man shall see what his hands have sent forth and the unbeliever will cry: “I wish! I could remain merely dust."[78.40]   إِنَّ ا  أَن ذَرْنَاكُمْ عَذَاباً قَر ِيباً  يَوْمَ يَن ظُرُ ا لْمَرْءُ مَا قَدَّمَتْ يَدَا هُُوَيَقُو لُ ا لْكَافِر ُيَالَ يْتَنِي كُن تُ تُرَاباً
