76) Sūrat Al-'Insān | Printed format | 76) سُورَة الإنسَان |
| Hal 'Atá `Alá Al-'Insāni Ĥīnun Mina Ad-Dahri Lam Yakun Shay'āan Madhkūrāan | Has there not passed over man a period of time when he was nothing- -not even mentioned?[76.1] | هَلْ أَتَى عَلَى الإِنسَانِ حِين ٌ مِنَ الدَّهْرِ لَمْ يَكُنْ شَيْئا ً مَذْكُورا ً |
| 'Innā Khalaqnā Al-'Insāna Min Nuţfatin 'Amshājin Nabtalīhi Faja`alnāhu Samī`āan Başīrāan | Indeed, We have created man from the sperm drop containing both sexes, so that We may test him. Therefore, We gave him the faculties of hearing and sight.[76.2] | إِنَّا خَلَقْنَا الإِنسَانَ مِنْ نُطْفَةٍ أَمْشَاج ٍ نَبْتَلِيه ِِ فَجَعَلْنَاه ُُ سَمِيعا ً بَصِيرا ً |
| 'Innā Hadaynāhu As-Sabīla 'Immā Shākirāan Wa 'Immā Kafūrāan | Then We guided him to the Way: Now, it is his choice either to be grateful or to be a disbeliever.[76.3] | إِنَّا هَدَيْنَاهُ السَّبِيلَ إِمَّا شَاكِرا ً وَإِمَّا كَفُورا ً |
| 'Innā 'A`tadnā Lilkāfirīna Salāsilāan Wa 'Aghlālāan Wa Sa`īrāan | For the disbelievers, We have prepared chains, fetters and a blazing fire.[76.4] | إِنَّا أَعْتَدْنَا لِلْكَافِرِينَ سَلاَسِلا ً وَأَغْلاَلا ً وَسَعِيرا ً |
| 'Inna Al-'Abrāra Yashrabūna Min Ka'sin Kāna Mizājuhā Kāfūrāan | The righteous shall be in paradise drinking from a cup of wine mixed with Kafoor (camphor-water),[76.5] | إِنَّ الأَبْرَارَ يَشْرَبُونَ مِنْ كَأْس ٍ كَانَ مِزَاجُهَا كَافُورا ً |
| `Aynāan Yashrabu Bihā `Ibādu Al-Lahi Yufajjirūnahā Tafjīrāan | from a gushing spring at which the servants of Allah will refresh themselves, and shall be able to take out its channels from place to place at their will.[76.6] | عَيْنا ً يَشْرَبُ بِهَا عِبَادُ اللَّهِ يُفَجِّرُونَهَا تَفْجِيرا ً |
| Yūfūna Bin-Nadhri Wa Yakhāfūna Yawmāan Kāna Sharruhu Mustaţīrāan | They are those who keep their vows and dread the Day of widespread terror,[76.7] | يُوفُونَ بِالنَّذْرِ وَيَخَافُونَ يَوْما ً كَانَ شَرُّه ُُ مُسْتَطِيرا ً |
| Wa Yuţ`imūna Aţ-Ţa`āma `Alá Ĥubbihi Miskīnāan Wa Yatīmāan Wa 'Asīrāan | who feed the poor, the orphan and the captive for the love of Allah,[76.8] | وَيُطْعِمُونَ الطَّعَامَ عَلَى حُبِّه ِِ مِسْكِينا ً وَيَتِيما ً وَأَسِيرا ً |
| 'Innamā Nuţ`imukum Liwajhi Al-Lahi Lā Nurīdu Minkum Jazā'an Wa Lā Shukūrāan | saying: “We feed you for the sake of Allah Alone; we seek from you neither reward nor thanks,[76.9] | إِنَّمَا نُطْعِمُكُمْ لِوَجْهِ اللَّهِ لاَ نُرِيدُ مِنْكُمْ جَزَاء ً وَلاَ شُكُورا ً |
| 'Innā Nakhāfu Min Rabbinā Yawmāan `Abūsāan Qamţarīrāan | for we dread our Rabb's torment of a very distressful Day."[76.10] | إِنَّا نَخَافُ مِنْ رَبِّنَا يَوْماً عَبُوسا ً قَمْطَرِيرا ً |
| Fawaqāhumu Al-Lahu Sharra Dhālika Al-Yawmi Wa Laqqāhum Nađratan Wa Surūrāan | So Allah will deliver them from the evil of that Day, and bestow on them freshness and joy,[76.11] | فَوَقَاهُمُ اللَّهُ شَرَّ ذَلِكَ الْيَوْمِ وَلَقَّاهُمْ نَضْرَة ً وَسُرُورا ً |
| Wa Jazāhum Bimā Şabarū Jannatan Wa Ĥarīrāan | and reward them, for their steadfastness with paradise and garments of silk.[76.12] | وَجَزَاهُمْ بِمَا صَبَرُوا جَنَّة ً وَحَرِيرا ً |
| Muttaki'īna Fīhā `Alá Al-'Arā'iki Lā Yarawna Fīhā Shamsāan Wa Lā Zamharīrāan | There they shall be reclining upon high couches; they shall feel neither the scorching heat nor the biting cold.[76.13] | مُتَّكِئِينَ فِيهَا عَلَى الأَرَائِكِ لاَ يَرَوْنَ فِيهَا شَمْسا ً وَلاَ زَمْهَرِيرا ً |
| Wa Dāniyatan `Alayhim Žilāluhā Wa Dhullilat Quţūfuhā Tadhlīlāan | The trees of paradise will spread their shade around them, and their fruits will hang in clusters within their easy reach.[76.14] | وَدَانِيَةً عَلَيْهِمْ ظِلاَلُهَا وَذُلِّلَتْ قُطُوفُهَا تَذْلِيلا ً |
| Wa Yuţāfu `Alayhim Bi'āniyatin Min Fiđđatin Wa 'Akwābin Kānat Qawārīra | They shall be served with silver dishes, goblets of crystal,[76.15] | وَيُطَافُ عَلَيْهِمْ بِآنِيَة ٍ مِنْ فِضَّة ٍ وَأَكْوَاب ٍ كَانَتْ قَوَارِيرَ |
| Qawārīra Min Fiđđatin Qaddarūhā Taqdīrāan | and goblets made of crystal-clear silver, filled by their attendants in due measure.[76.16] | قَوَارِيرَ مِنْ فِضَّة ٍ قَدَّرُوهَا تَقْدِيرا ً |
| Wa Yusqawna Fīhā Ka'sāan Kāna Mizājuhā Zanjabīlāan | And they will also be given to drink a cup of wine mixed with Zanjabïl (ginger-flavored water),[76.17] | وَيُسْقَوْنَ فِيهَا كَأْسا ً كَانَ مِزَاجُهَا زَنجَبِيلا ً |
| `Aynāan Fīhā Tusammá Salsabīlāan | from a fountain, called Salsabïl.[76.18] | عَيْنا ً فِيهَا تُسَمَّى سَلْسَبِيلا ً |
| Wa Yaţūfu `Alayhim Wildānun Mukhalladūna 'Idhā Ra'aytahum Ĥasibtahum Lu'ulu'uāan Manthūrāan | They shall be attended by boys graced with eternal youth: when you see them, they would seem like sprinkled pearls.[76.19] | وَيَطُوفُ عَلَيْهِمْ وِلْدَان ٌ مُخَلَّدُونَ إِذَا رَأَيْتَهُمْ حَسِبْتَهُمْ لُؤْلُؤا ً مَنثُورا ً |
| Wa 'Idhā Ra'ayta Thamma Ra'ayta Na`īmāan Wa Mulkāan Kabīrāan | And which ever direction you will look, you will see blessings and the splendor of a great Kingdom.[76.20] | وَإِذَا رَأَيْتَ ثَمَّ رَأَيْتَ نَعِيما ً وَمُلْكا ً كَبِيرا ً |
| `Āliyahum Thiyābu Sundusin Khuđrun Wa 'Istabraqun Wa Ĥullū 'Asāwira Min Fiđđatin Wa Saqāhum Rabbuhum Sharābāan Ţahūrāan | They (the residents of paradise) shall be arrayed in the garments of fine green silk and rich brocade, and adorned with bracelets of silver, and their Rabb will give them pure wine to drink.[76.21] | عَالِيَهُمْ ثِيَابُ سُندُسٍ خُضْر ٌ وَإِسْتَبْرَق ٌ وَحُلُّوا أَسَاوِرَ مِنْ فِضَّة ٍ وَسَقَاهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ شَرَابا ً طَهُورا ً |
| 'Inna Hādhā Kāna Lakum Jazā'an Wa Kāna Sa`yukum Mashkūrāan | O believers, that’s how you will be rewarded, and your endeavors appreciated.[76.22] | إِنَّ هَذَا كَانَ لَكُمْ جَزَاء ً وَكَانَ سَعْيُكُمْ مَشْكُورا ً |
| 'Innā Naĥnu Nazzalnā `Alayka Al-Qur'āna Tanzīlāan | Surely, it is We Who have sent down this Qur’an to you through gradual revelations,[76.23] | إِنَّا نَحْنُ نَزَّلْنَا عَلَيْكَ الْقُرْآنَ تَنْزِيلا ً |
| Fāşbir Liĥukmi Rabbika Wa Lā Tuţi` Minhum 'Āthimāan 'Aw Kafūrāan | therefore, await with patience the command of your Rabb and do not yield to any sinner or disbeliever from among the unbelievers.[76.24] | فَاصْبِرْ لِحُكْمِ رَبِّكَ وَلاَ تُطِعْ مِنْهُمْ آثِماً أَوْ كَفُورا ً |
| Wa Adhkur Asma Rabbika Bukratan Wa 'Aşīlāan | Glorify the name of your Rabb morning and evening;[76.25] | وَاذْكُرْ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ بُكْرَة ً وَأَصِيلا ً |
| Wa Mina Al-Layli Fāsjud Lahu Wa Sabbiĥhu Laylāan Ţawīlāan | prostrate before Him at night and glorify Him during the long hours of night.[76.26] | وَمِنَ اللَّيْلِ فَاسْجُدْ لَه ُُ وَسَبِّحْهُ لَيْلا ً طَوِيلا ً |
| 'Inna Hā'uulā' Yuĥibbūna Al-`Ājilata Wa Yadharūna Warā'ahum Yawmāan Thaqīlāan | These unbelievers love the transitory life of this world and neglect the heavy Day that is coming ahead.[76.27] | إِنَّ هَاؤُلاَء يُحِبُّونَ الْعَاجِلَةَ وَيَذَرُونَ وَرَاءَهُمْ يَوْما ً ثَقِيلا ً |
| Naĥnu Khalaqnāhum Wa Shadadnā 'Asrahum Wa 'Idhā Shi'nā Baddalnā 'Amthālahum Tabdīlāan | It is We Who created them and made their joints strong; but if We please We can replace them with others like them through a change.[76.28] | نَحْنُ خَلَقْنَاهُمْ وَشَدَدْنَا أَسْرَهُمْ وَإِذَا شِئْنَا بَدَّلْنَا أَمْثَالَهُمْ تَبْدِيلا ً |
| 'Inna Hadhihi Tadhkiratun Faman Shā'a Attakhadha 'Ilá Rabbihi Sabīlāan | This is indeed an admonition, so let him who will, adopt The Way to his Rabb,[76.29] | إِنَّ هَذِه ِِ تَذْكِرَة ٌ فَمَنْ شَاءَ اتَّخَذَ إِلَى رَبِّه ِِ سَبِيلا ً |
| Wa Mā Tashā'ūna 'Illā 'An Yashā'a Al-Lahu 'Inna Al-Laha Kāna `Alīmāan Ĥakīmāan | but you cannot will, except by the will of Allah. Surely Allah is All-Knowledgeable, All-Wise.[76.30] | وَمَا تَشَاءُونَ إِلاَّ أَنْ يَشَاءَ اللَّهُ إِنَّ اللَّهَ كَانَ عَلِيماً حَكِيما ً |
| Yudkhilu Man Yashā'u Fī Raĥmatihi Wa Až-Žālimīna 'A`adda Lahum `Adhābāan 'Alīmāan | He admits to His mercy whom He wills, and for the wrongdoers He has prepared a painful punishment.[76.31] | يُدْخِلُ مَنْ يَشَاءُ فِي رَحْمَتِه ِِ وَالظَّالِمِينَ أَعَدَّ لَهُمْ عَذَاباً أَلِيما ً |
