Nişfahu 'Aw Anquş Minhu Qalīlāan | half of it or a little less,[73.3] |
'Aw Zid `Alayhi Wa Rattili Al-Qur'āna Tartīlāan | or a little more; and recite the Qur’an with measured tone.[73.4] |
'Innā Sanulqī `Alayka Qawlāan Thaqīlāan | Soon We are going to send you a weighty message.[73.5] |
'Inna Nāshi'ata Al-Layli Hiya 'Ashaddu Waţ'āan Wa 'Aqwamu Qīlāan | Surely the getting up at night for prayer is most effective for controlling the self and most suitable for reciting the Qur’an as well;[73.6] | إِنَّ نَاشِئَةَ اللَّيْلِ هِيَ أَشَدُّ وَطْئا ً وَأَقْوَمُ قِيلا ً |

Wa Aşbir `Alá Mā Yaqūlūna Wa Ahjurhum Hajrāan Jamīlāan | Bear patiently with what they say and leave their company in a polite manner.[73.10] | وَاصْبِرْ عَلَى مَا يَقُولُونَ وَاهْجُرْهُمْ هَجْرا ً جَمِيلا ً |
Wa Dharnī Wa Al-Mukadhdhibīna 'Ūlī An-Na`mati Wa Mahhilhum Qalīlāan | Let me deal with rejecters who are enjoying the comforts of this life, so put up with them for a while.[73.11] | وَذَرْنِي وَالْمُكَذِّبِينَ أُولِي النَّعْمَةِ وَمَهِّلْهُمْ قَلِيلا ً |
'Inna Ladaynā 'Ankālāan Wa Jaĥīmāan | We have in store for them heavy fetters and a blazing fire,[73.12] |

'Innā 'Arsalnā 'Ilaykum Rasūlāan Shāhidāan `Alaykum Kamā 'Arsalnā 'Ilá Fir`awna Rasūlāan | O mankind, We have sent towards you a Rasool, to bear witness for you or against you, as We sent a Rasool towards Fir'on (Pharaoh) before you.[73.15] | إِنَّا أَرْسَلْنَا إِلَيْكُمْ رَسُولا ً شَاهِداً عَلَيْكُمْ كَمَا أَرْسَلْنَا إِلَى فِرْعَوْنَ رَسُولا ً |
Fa`aşá Fir`awnu Ar-Rasūla Fa'akhadhnāhu 'Akhdhāan Wabīlāan | Fir'on disobeyed Our Rasool; so We seized him with a firm grip.[73.16] |

As-Samā'u Munfaţirun Bihi Kāna Wa`duhu Maf`ūlāan | the heaven shall split asunder, and His promise shall be fulfilled?[73.18] |
'Inna Hadhihi Tadhkiratun Faman Shā'a Attakhadha 'Ilá Rabbihi Sabīlāan | Surely this is but a reminder, so let him who wills, take the Right way to His Rabb.[73.19] | إِنَّ هَذِه ِِ تَذْكِرَة ٌ فَمَنْ شَاءَ اتَّخَذَ إِلَى رَبِّه ِِ سَبِيلا ً |
'Inna Rabbaka Ya`lamu 'Annaka Taqūmu 'Adná Min Thuluthayi Al-Layli Wa Nişfahu Wa Thuluthahu Wa Ţā'ifatun Mina Al-Ladhīna Ma`aka Wa Allāhu Yuqaddiru Al-Layla Wa An-Nahāra `Alima 'An Lan Tuĥşūhu Fatāba `Alaykum Fāqra'ū Mā Tayassara Mina Al-Qur'āni `Alima 'An Sayakūnu Minkum Marđá Wa 'Ākharūna Yađribūna Fī Al-'Arđi Yabtaghūna Min Fađli Al-Lahi Wa 'Ākharūna Yuqātilūna Fī Sabīli Al-Lahi Fāqra'ū Mā Tayassara Minhu Wa 'Aqīmū Aş-Şalāata Wa 'Ātū Az-Zakāata Wa 'Aqriđū Al-Laha Qarđāan Ĥasanāan Wa Mā Tuqaddimū Li'nfusikum Min Khayrin Tajidūhu `Inda Al-Lahi Huwa Khayrāan Wa 'A`žama 'Ajrāan Wa Astaghfirū Al-Laha 'Inna Al-Laha Ghafūrun Raĥīmun | Surely your Rabb knows that you stand in prayers nearly two- thirds of the night, and sometimes one-half or one-third of it, so do others among your companions. Allah has the measures of the night and the day. He knows that you will not be able to keep it up, so He has turned to you in Mercy, therefore, read from the Qur’an as much as you easily can. He knows that there may be some sick people among you, and some others who travel through the land to seek Allah’s bounty; and yet some others fighting for the cause of Allah. Therefore, read as much of the Qur’an as you easily can. Establish the Salah (five time daily prayers) and pay the Zakah (poor due), and give to Allah a goodly loan. Whatever good you will send forth for yourselves, you will find it with Allah, which will be much better and greater in reward.
