Qul 'Ūĥiya 'Ilayya 'Annahu Astama`a Nafarun Mina Al-Jinni Faqālū 'Innā Sami`nā Qur'ānāan `Ajabāan  | O Prophet say: “It has been revealed to me that a band of jinns listened to the Qur’an, then returned to their folk and said: ‘We have heard a wonderful Qur’an [72.1] | قُلْ أُوحِيَ إِلَيَّ أَنَّهُ اسْتَمَعَ نَفَر ٌ مِنَ الْجِنِّ فَقَالُوا إِنَّا سَمِعْنَا قُرْآناً عَجَبا ً |
Yahdī 'Ilá Ar-Rushdi Fa'āmannā Bihi Wa Lan Nushrika Birabbinā 'Aĥadāan  | which guides to the Right Way. We have believed in it and henceforth shall worship none besides Our Rabb.[72.2] | يَهْدِي إِلَى الرُّشْدِ فَآمَنَّا بِه ِِ وَلَنْ نُشْرِكَ بِرَبِّنَا أَحَدا ً |
Wa 'Annahu Ta`ālá Jaddu Rabbinā Mā Attakhadha Şāĥibatan Wa Lā Waladāan  | Surely our Rabb's Majesty is exalted: He has neither taken a wife nor a son.[72.3] | وَأَنَّه ُُ تَعَالَى جَدُّ رَبِّنَا مَا اتَّخَذَ صَاحِبَة ً وَلاَ وَلَدا ً |
Wa 'Annahu Kāna Yaqūlu Safīhunā `Alá Al-Lahi Shaţaţāan  | Some who are foolish among us have been uttering atrocious lies about Allah,[72.4] | وَأَنَّه ُُ كَانَ يَقُولُ سَفِيهُنَا عَلَى اللَّهِ شَطَطا ً |
Wa 'Annā Žanannā 'An Lan Taqūla Al-'Insu Wa Al-Jinnu `Alá Al-Lahi Kadhibāan  | and we had presumed that no man or jinn could tell a lie concerning Allah.[72.5] | وَأَنَّا ظَنَنَّا أَنْ لَنْ تَقُولَ الإِنسُ وَالْجِنُّ عَلَى اللَّهِ كَذِبا ً |
Wa 'Annahu Kāna Rijālun Mina Al-'Insi Ya`ūdhūna Birijālin Mina Al-Jinni Fazādūhum Rahaqāan  | Indeed, some individuals among mankind used to seek protection with some individuals among the jinns, so they caused such jinns to become more arrogant,[72.6] | وَأَنَّه ُُ كَانَ رِجَال ٌ مِنَ الإِنسِ يَعُوذُونَ بِرِجَال ٍ مِنَ الْجِنِّ فَزَادُوهُمْ رَهَقا ً |
Wa 'Annahum Žannū Kamā Žanantum 'An Lan Yab`atha Al-Lahu 'Aĥadāan  | as a result, they presumed as you presumed that Allah would not appoint anyone as a Rasool.[72.7] | وَأَنَّهُمْ ظَنُّوا كَمَا ظَنَنتُمْ أَنْ لَنْ يَبْعَثَ اللَّهُ أَحَدا ً |
Wa 'Annā Lamasnā As-Samā'a Fawajadnāhā Muli'at Ĥarasāan Shadīdāan Wa Shuhubāan  | We searched the heaven, and found it filled with stern guards and shooting stars.[72.8] | وَأَنَّا لَمَسْنَا السَّمَاءَ فَوَجَدْنَاهَا مُلِئَتْ حَرَسا ً شَدِيدا ً وَشُهُبا ً |
Wa 'Annā Kunnā Naq`udu Minhā Maqā`ida Lilssam`i Faman Yastami`i Al-'Āna Yajid Lahu Shihābāan Raşadāan  | Before this we used to find a seat in heaven for eavesdropping, but now eavesdroppers find shooting stars lying in ambush for them.[72.9] | وَأَنَّا كُنَّا نَقْعُدُ مِنْهَا مَقَاعِدَ لِلسَّمْعِ فَمَنْ يَسْتَمِعِ الآنَ يَجِدْ لَه ُُ شِهَابا ً رَصَدا ً |
Wa 'Annā Lā Nadrī 'Asharrun 'Urīda Biman Fī Al-'Arđi 'Am 'Arāda Bihim Rabbuhum Rashadāan  | We did not know whether an evil was intended for the dwellers of the earth or whether their Rabb intended to guide them.[72.10] | وَأَنَّا لاَ نَدْرِي أَشَرٌّ أُرِيدَ بِمَنْ فِي الأَرْضِ أَمْ أَرَادَ بِهِمْ رَبُّهُمْ رَشَدا ً |
Wa 'Annā Minnā Aş-Şāliĥūna Wa Minnā Dūna Dhālika Kunnā Ţarā'iqa Qidadāan  | There are some among us who are righteous and some to the contrary; we have sects following different ways.[72.11] | وَأَنَّا مِنَّا الصَّالِحُونَ وَمِنَّا دُونَ ذَلِكَ كُنَّا طَرَائِقَ قِدَدا ً |
Wa 'Annā Žanannā 'An Lan Nu`jiza Al-Laha Fī Al-'Arđi Wa Lan Nu`jizahu Harabāan  | We know that we can neither frustrate Allah in the earth nor frustrate Him by flight.[72.12] | وَأَنَّا ظَنَنَّا أَنْ لَنْ نُعجِزَ اللَّهَ فِي الأَرْضِ وَلَنْ نُعْجِزَه ُُ هَرَبا ً |
Wa 'Annā Lammā Sami`nā Al-Hudá 'Āmannā Bihi Faman Yu'umin Birabbihi Falā Yakhāfu Bakhsāan Wa Lā Rahaqāan  | As for us, when we listened to the guidance, we believed in it; so he that believes in his Rabb shall have neither the fear of loss nor of injustice.[72.13] | وَأَنَّا لَمَّا سَمِعْنَا الْهُدَى آمَنَّا بِه ِِ فَمَنْ يُؤْمِنْ بِرَبِّه ِِ فَلاَ يَخَافُ بَخْسا ً وَلاَ رَهَقا ً |
Wa 'Annā Minnā Al-Muslimūna Wa Minnā Al-Qāsiţūna Faman 'Aslama Fa'ūlā'ika Taĥarraw Rashadāan  | Surely there are some among us who are Muslims and some who are deviators from the truth. Those who have adopted Islam have found the way to salvation,[72.14] | وَأَنَّا مِنَّا الْمُسْلِمُونَ وَمِنَّا الْقَاسِطُونَ فَمَنْ أَسْلَمَ فَأُوْلَائِكَ تَحَرَّوْا رَشَدا ً |
Wa 'Ammā Al-Qāsiţūna Fakānū Lijahannama Ĥaţabāan  | and those who have deviated from the truth will become the fuel for hell."[72.15] | وَأَمَّا الْقَاسِطُونَ فَكَانُوا لِجَهَنَّمَ حَطَبا ً |
Wa 'Allawi Astaqāmū `Alá Aţ-Ţarīqati L'asqaynāhum Mā'an Ghadaqāan  | O Prophet, say: “If they (the Makkans) had steadfastly followed the Right Way, We would have certainly vouchsafed them abundant water,[72.16] | وَأَلَّوِ اسْتَقَامُوا عَلَى الطَّرِيقَةِ لأَسْقَيْنَاهُمْ مَاءً غَدَقا ً |
Linaftinahum Fīhi Wa Man Yu`riđ `An Dhikri Rabbihi Yasluk/hu `Adhābāan Şa`adāan  | and thereby put them to test. He that gives no heed to the warnings of his Rabb, shall be made to undergo severe punishment.[72.17] | لِنَفْتِنَهُمْ فِيه ِِ وَمَنْ يُعْرِضْ عَنْ ذِكْرِ رَبِّه ِِ يَسْلُكْهُ عَذَابا ً صَعَدا ً |
Wa 'Anna Al-Masājida Lillahi Falā Tad`ū Ma`a Al-Lahi 'Aĥadāan  | Mosques are built for Allah’s worship; therefore, invoke not anyone along with Allah.[72.18] | وَأَنَّ الْمَسَاجِدَ لِلَّهِ فَلاَ تَدْعُوا مَعَ اللَّهِ أَحَدا ً |
Wa 'Annahu Lammā Qāma `Abdu Al-Lahi Yad`ūhu Kādū Yakūnūna `Alayhi Libadāan  | Yet, when Allah’s servant Muhammad stood up to invoke Him, they (unbelievers) were ready to attack him."[72.19] | وَأَنَّه ُُ لَمَّا قَامَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ يَدْعُوه ُُ كَادُوا يَكُونُونَ عَلَيْهِ لِبَدا ً |
Qul 'Innamā 'Ad`ū Rabbī Wa Lā 'Ushriku Bihi 'Aĥadāan  | O Prophet, say: “I pray only to my Rabb and worship none besides Him."[72.20] | قُلْ إِنَّمَا أَدْعُو رَبِّي وَلاَ أُشْرِكُ بِهِ~ِ أَحَدا ً |
Qul 'Innī Lā 'Amliku Lakum Đarrāan Wa Lā Rashadāan  | Say: “I have no control to cause harm or bring you to the Right Way."[72.21] | قُلْ إِنِّي لاَ أَمْلِكُ لَكُمْ ضَرّا ً وَلاَ رَشَدا ً |
Qul 'Innī Lan Yujīranī Mina Al-Lahi 'Aĥadun Wa Lan 'Ajida Min Dūnihi Multaĥadāan  | Say: “If I were to disobey Him, no one can protect me from Allah, nor can I find any refuge besides Him.[72.22] | قُلْ إِنِّي لَنْ يُجِيرَنِي مِنَ اللَّهِ أَحَد ٌ وَلَنْ أَجِدَ مِنْ دُونِه ِِ مُلْتَحَدا ً |
'Illā Balāghāan Mina Al-Lahi Wa Risālātihi Wa Man Ya`şi Al-Laha Wa Rasūlahu Fa'inna Lahu Nāra Jahannama Khālidīna Fīhā 'Abadāan  | My mission is only to deliver what I receive from Allah and make His messages known. As for those who disobey Allah and His Rasool, they shall be put in the fire of hell to live therein forever."[72.23] | إِلاَّ بَلاَغا ً مِنَ اللَّهِ وَرِسَالاَتِه ِِ وَمَنْ يَعْصِ اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَه ُُ فَإِنَّ لَه ُُ نَارَ جَهَنَّمَ خَالِدِينَ فِيهَا أَبَدا ً |
Ĥattá 'Idhā Ra'aw Mā Yū`adūna Fasaya`lamūna Man 'Ađ`afu Nāşirāan Wa 'Aqallu `Adadāan  | When they shall see the punishment that they are being threatened with, then they shall find out whose helpers are weak and whose supporters are fewer in number.[72.24] | حَتَّى إِذَا رَأَوْا مَا يُوعَدُونَ فَسَيَعْلَمُونَ مَنْ أَضْعَفُ نَاصِرا ً وَأَقَلُّ عَدَدا ً |
Qul 'In 'Adrī 'Aqarībun Mā Tū`adūna 'Am Yaj`alu Lahu Rabbī 'Amadāan  | Say: “I do not know whether the punishment that you are threatened with is near or whether my Rabb has set for it a distant term.[72.25] | قُلْ إِنْ أَدْرِي أَقَرِيب ٌ مَا تُوعَدُونَ أَمْ يَجْعَلُ لَه ُُ رَبِّي أَمَدا ً |
`Ālimu Al-Ghaybi Falā Yužhiru `Alá Ghaybihi 'Aĥadāan  | He Alone knows the unseen. He does not reveal His secrets to anyone[72.26] | عَالِمُ الْغَيْبِ فَلاَ يُظْهِرُ عَلَى غَيْبِهِ~ِ أَحَدا ً |
'Illā Mani Artađá Min Rasūlin Fa'innahu Yasluku Min Bayni Yadayhi Wa Min Khalfihi Raşadāan  | except to the Rasool whom He may choose for that purpose, and then He appoints guards, who march before him and behind him,[72.27] | إِلاَّ مَنِ ارْتَضَى مِنْ رَسُول ٍ فَإِنَّه ُُ يَسْلُكُ مِنْ بَيْنِ يَدَيْهِ وَمِنْ خَلْفِه ِِ رَصَدا ً |
Liya`lama 'An Qad 'Ablaghū Risālāti Rabbihim Wa 'Aĥāţa Bimā Ladayhim Wa 'Aĥşá Kulla Shay'in `Adadāan  | that He may know that they (the Rasools) have indeed delivered the messages of their Rabb. He also encompasses all their surroundings and keeps a count of each and everything."[72.28] | لِيَعْلَمَ أَنْ قَدْ أَبْلَغُوا رِسَالاَتِ رَبِّهِمْ وَأَحَاطَ بِمَا لَدَيْهِمْ وَأَحْصَى كُلَّ شَيْءٍ عَدَدا ً |
