Sa'ala Sā 'ilun   Bi`adh ā bin  Wāqi`in       A questioner asked you about the punishment which is bound to happen.[70.1]   سَأَلَ سَائِلٌ  بِعَذَا بٍ  وَاقِعٍ    
   Lilkāfir yna Laysa Lahu Dāfi`un       It is for the disbelievers and there is none to avert it.[70.2]   لِلْكَافِرينَ لَيْسَ لَهُُدَافِعٌ   
   Mina A l-Lahi Dh ī A l-Ma`ār ij i       It will come from Allah, the Owner of the Ways of Ascent.[70.3]   مِنَ ا ل لَّهِ ذِي ا لْمَعَار ِج ِ   
   Ta`ruju A l-Malā 'ikatu Wa A r-Rū ĥu 'Ilayhi Fī Yawmin  Kā na Miq dāruhu  Kh am sī na 'Alfa Sanah in       The angels and the Spirit ascend to Him in a Day the measure of which is fifty thousand years.[70.4]   تَعْرُجُ ا لْمَلاَئِكَةُ وَال رُّو حُ إِلَيْهِ فِي يَوْمٍ  كَا نَ مِقْ دَارُهُُخَمْسِي نَ أَلْفَ سَنَةٍ    
   Fāşbir Şab rāan  Jamīlāan       Therefore, endure with graceful patience.[70.5]   فَاصْبِرْ صَبْ راً جَمِيلاً   
   'Inn ahum  Yarawnahu  Ba`īdāan       They see it (Day of Judgment) to be far-off:[70.6]   إِنَّ هُمْ يَرَوْنَهُُبَعِيداً   
    Wa Narā hu  Qar ībāan       but We see it quite near.[70.7]   وَنَرَا هُُقَر ِيباً   
   Yawma Takū nu A s-Samā 'u Kālmuhli       On that Day, the sky shall become like molten brass[70.8]   يَوْمَ تَكُو نُ ا ل سَّمَا ءُ كَا لْمُهْلِ   
    Wa Takū nu A l-Jibā lu Kāl`ihni       and the mountains like tufts of wool;[70.9]   وَتَكُو نُ ا لْجِبَا لُ كَا لْعِهْنِ   
    Wa Lā Yas'alu Ĥamī mun Ĥamīmāan       even a close friend will not ask of his friend,[70.10]   وَلاَ يَسْأَلُ حَمِي مٌ حَمِيماً   
   Yubaşşarūnahum  Yawaddu A l-Muj r imu Law Yaftadī Min `Adh ā bi Yawmi'idh in   Bibanī hi       though they will see each other. To save himself from the punishment of that Day, the culprit (disbeliever) will wish to give his children,[70.11]   يُبَصَّرُونَهُمْ يَوَدُّ ا لْمُجْ ر ِمُ لَوْ يَفْتَدِي مِنْ عَذَا بِ يَوْمِئِذٍ  بِبَنِي هِ   
    Wa Şāĥibatihi  Wa 'Akh ī hi       his wife, his brother,[70.12]   وَصَاحِبَتِهِِ وَأَخِي هِ   
    Wa Faşīlatihi A llatī Tu'uwyhi       his relatives - who gave him shelter - [70.13]   وَفَصِيلَتِهِ ا لَّتِي تُؤْويهِ   
    Wa Man  Fī A l-'Arđi Jamī`āan  Th umm a Yun jī hi       and all that is in the earth, in ransom to save himself.[70.14]   وَمَن ْ فِي ا لأَرْضِ جَمِيعاً ثُمّ َ يُن جِي هِ   
   Kallā  'Inn ahā Lažá      By no means! It will be the fire of hell,[70.15]   كَلاَّ إِنَّ هَا لَظَى   
   Nazzā`atan  Lilsh sh awá      eager to pluck out his skull,[70.16]   نَزَّاعَة ً  لِلشَّوَى   
   Tad `ū Man 'Ad bara Wa Tawallá      it will be calling all those who try to escape and turn their back,[70.17]   تَد ْعُوا  مَنْ أَد ْبَرَ وَتَوَلَّى   
    Wa Jama`a Fa'aw`á      who collected wealth and withheld it.[70.18]   وَجَمَعَ فَأَوْعَى   
   'Inn a A l-'In sā na Kh uliqa Halū`āan       Indeed, man has been created impatient,[70.19]   إِنّ َ ا لإِن سَا نَ خُلِقَ هَلُوعاً   
   'Idh ā Massahu A sh -Sh arru Jazū`āan       when evil befalls him, he becomes despondent;[70.20]   إِذَا مَسَّهُ ا ل شَّرُّ جَزُوعاً   
    Wa 'Idh ā Massahu A l-Kh ayru Manū`āan       but when blessed with good fortune, he becomes stingy;[70.21]   وَإِذَا مَسَّهُ ا لْخَيْرُ مَنُوعاً   
   'Illā A l-Muşallī na       with the exception of those who offer the Salah (prayer),[70.22]   إِلاَّ ا لْمُصَلِّي نَ   
   Al-Ladh ī na Hum  `Alá Şalātihim  Dā 'imū na       remain steadfast in their Salah (prayer),[70.23]   ا لَّذِي نَ هُمْ عَلَى صَلاَتِهِمْ دَائِمُو نَ  
   Wa A l-Ladh ī na Fī  'Am wālihim  Ĥaqqun  Ma`lū mun       set aside a due share in their wealth[70.24]   وَا لَّذِي نَ فِي  أَمْوَالِهِمْ حَقٌّ  مَعْلُو مٌ   
   Lilssā 'ili Wa A l-Maĥrū mi       for the beggars and the deprived,[70.25]   لِلسَّائِلِ وَالْمَحْرُو مِ   
   Wa A l-Ladh ī na Yuşaddiqū na Biyawmi A d-Dī ni       accept the truth of the Day of Judgment,[70.26]   وَا لَّذِي نَ يُصَدِّقُو نَ بِيَوْمِ ا ل دِّي نِ   
   Wa A l-Ladh ī na Hum  Min `Adh ā bi Rabbihim  Mush fiqū na       dread the punishment of their Rabb[70.27]   وَا لَّذِي نَ هُم ْ مِنْ عَذَا بِ رَبِّهِم ْ مُشْفِقُو نَ   
   'Inn a `Adh ā ba Rabbihim  Gh ayru Ma'mū nin       - for none is secure from the punishment of their Rabb -[70.28]   إِنّ َ عَذَا بَ رَبِّهِمْ غَيْرُ مَأْمُو نٍ    
   Wa A l-Ladh ī na Hum  Lifurūjihim  Ĥāfižū na       and guard their private parts,[70.29]   وَا لَّذِي نَ هُمْ لِفُرُوجِهِمْ حَافِظُو نَ   
   'Illā `Alá  'Azwājihim  'Aw Mā Malakat 'Aymānuhum  Fa'inn ahum  Gh ayru Malūmī na       except from their wives and those whom their right hands possess, for in their case they are not blameworthy.[70.30]   إِلاَّ عَلَى  أَزْوَاجِهِمْ أَوْ مَا مَلَكَتْ أَيْمَانُهُمْ فَإِنَّ هُمْ غَيْرُ مَلُومِي نَ   
   Famani A b tagh á Warā 'a Dh ālika Fa'ū lā 'ika Humu A l-`Ādū na       As for those who seek to go beyond this, they are transgressors.[70.31]   فَمَنِ ا بْ تَغَى وَرَا ءَ ذَلِكَ فَأُ وْلَائِكَ هُمُ ا لْعَادُو نَ   
   Wa A l-Ladh ī na Hum  Li'mānātihim  Wa `Ahdihim  Rā`ū na       Those who keep their trusts and honor their promises,[70.32]   وَا لَّذِي نَ هُمْ لِأمَانَاتِهِمْ وَعَهْدِهِمْ رَاعُو نَ   
   Wa A l-Ladh ī na Hum  Bish ahādātihim  Qā 'imū na       who stand firm in their testimonies[70.33]   وَا لَّذِي نَ هُم ْ بِشَهَادَاتِهِمْ قَائِمُو نَ   
   Wa A l-Ladh ī na Hum  `Alá Şalātihim  Yuĥāfižū na       and strictly guard their Salah (prayers).[70.34]   وَا لَّذِي نَ هُمْ عَلَى صَلاَتِهِمْ يُحَافِظُو نَ   
   'Ū lā 'ika Fī Jann ā tin  Mukramū na       It is they who shall live with honor in paradise.[70.35]   أُ وْلَائِكَ فِي جَنّ َا تٍ  مُكْرَمُو نَ   
   Famā li A l-Ladh ī na Kafarū Qibalaka Muhţi`ī na       What is the matter with the disbelievers that they are rushing towards you,[70.36]   فَمَا لِ ا لَّذِي نَ كَفَرُوا  قِبَلَكَ مُهْطِعِي نَ   
   `Ani A l-Yamī ni Wa `Ani A sh -Sh imā li `Izī na       from the right and from the left, in groups?[70.37]   عَنِ ا لْيَمِي نِ وَعَنِ ا ل شِّمَا لِ عِزِي نَ   
   'Ayaţ ma`u Kullu A m r i'in  Minhum  'An  Yud kh ala Jann ata Na`ī min       Are they each seeking to enter the garden of bliss?[70.38]   أَيَطْ مَعُ كُلُّ ا ر ِئٍ  مِنْهُمْ أَن ْ يُد ْخَلَ جَنَّ ةَ نَعِي مٍ    
   Kallā  'Inn ā Kh alaq nāhum  Mimm ā Ya`lamū na       By no means! Surely, We have created them out of that what they (unbelievers) know.[70.39]   كَلاَّ إِنَّ ا خَلَقْ نَاهُم ْ مِمَّ ا يَعْلَمُو نَ   
   Falā  'Uq simu Birabbi A l-Mash ār iqi Wa A l-Magh ār ibi 'Inn ā Laqādirū na       But nay! I swear by the Rabb of the easts and the wests, that We have the power[70.40]   فَلاَ أُقْ سِمُ بِرَبِّ ا لْمَشَار ِقِ وَالْمَغَار ِبِ إِنَّ ا لَقَادِرُو نَ   
   `Alá  'An  Nubaddila Kh ayrāan  Minhum  Wa Mā Naĥnu Bimasbūqī na       to destroy them and replace them with others better than them, and nothing can hinder Us from doing so.[70.41]   عَلَى  أَن ْ نُبَدِّلَ خَيْراً  مِنْهُمْ وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمَسْبُوقِي نَ   
   Fadh arhum  Yakh ūđū Wa Yal`abū Ĥattá Yulāqū Yawmahumu A l-Ladh ī Yū`adū na       Therefore, leave them to plunge in vain talk and blunder about until they face that Day of theirs which they are being promised.[70.42]   فَذَرْهُمْ يَخُوضُوا  وَيَلْعَبُوا  حَتَّى يُلاَقُوا  يَوْمَهُمُ ا لَّذِي يُوعَدُو نَ   
   Yawma Yakh rujū na Mina A l-'Aj dāth i Sirā`āan  Ka'ann ahum  'Ilá Nuşubin  Yūfiđū na       The Day when they shall rush forward from their graves, as if they were racing towards a goal, with downcast eyes and countenances distorted with shame.[70.43]   يَوْمَ يَخْرُجُو نَ مِنَ ا لأَجْ دَا ثِ سِرَاعاً كَأَنَّ هُمْ إِلَى نُصُبٍ  يُوفِضُو نَ   
   Kh āsh i`atan 'Ab şāruhum  Tarhaquhum  Dh illatun  Dh ālika A l-Yawmu A l-Ladh ī Kānū Yū`adū na      Such will be the Day, which they are being promised.[70.44]   خَاشِعَةً أَبْ صَارُهُمْ تَرْهَقُهُمْ ذِلَّةٌ ذَلِكَ ا لْيَوْمُ ا لَّذِي كَا نُوا  يُوعَدُو نَ
