Nūn  Wa A l-Qalami Wa Mā Yasţurū na       Nün. By the pen and what they write.[68.1]   نُون  وَالْقَلَمِ وَمَا يَسْطُرُو نَ   
   Mā  'An ta Bini`mati Rabbika Bimaj nū nin       By the grace of your Rabb you are not a madman,[68.2]   مَا  أَنْ تَ بِنِعْمَةِ رَبِّكَ بِمَجْ نُو نٍ    
    Wa 'Inn a Laka La'aj rāan Gh ayra Mam nū nin       and you shall have a never ending reward.[68.3]   وَإِنّ َ لَكَ لَأَجْ راً غَيْرَ مَمْنُو نٍ    
    Wa 'Inn aka La`alá Kh uluqin `Ažī min       You are of the highest noble character.[68.4]   وَإِنَّ كَ لَعَلى خُلُقٍ عَظِي مٍ    
   Fasatub şiru Wa Yub şirū na       Soon you will see - as they will see[68.5]   فَسَتُبْ صِر ُوَيُبْ صِرُو نَ   
   Bi'ayyyikumu A l-Maftū nu       - which of you is afflicted with madness.[68.6]   بِأَيّيِكُمُ ا لْمَفْتُو نُ   
   'Inn a Rabbaka Huwa 'A`lamu Biman  Đalla `An  Sabīlihi  Wa Huwa 'A`lamu Bil-Muhtadī na       Surely it is your Rabb Who knows those who have strayed from His Way, as He knows best those who are rightly guided.[68.7]   إِنّ َ رَبَّكَ هُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِمَن ْ ضَلَّ عَن ْ سَبِيلِهِِ وَهُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِا لْمُهْتَدِي نَ   
   Falā Tuţi`i A l-Mukadh dh ibī na       So do not yield to the unbelievers.[68.8]   فَلاَ تُطِعِ ا لْمُكَذِّبِي نَ   
    Wa Ddū Law Tud /hinu Fayud /hinū na       They desire you to compromise a little, so they too would compromise.[68.9]   وَدُّوا  لَوْ تُد ْهِنُ فَيُد ْهِنُو نَ   
    Wa Lā Tuţi` Kulla Ĥallā fin  Mahī nin       Neither yield to any mean oath-monger,[68.10]   وَلاَ تُطِعْ كُلَّ حَلاَّفٍ  مَهِي نٍ    
   Hamm ā zin  Mash sh ā 'in   Binamī min       mischief making slanderer,[68.11]   هَمّ َا زٍ  مَشَّا ءٍ  بِنَمِي مٍ    
   Mann ā `in  Lilkh ayr i Mu`tadin 'Ath ī min       opponent of good, transgressor,[68.12]   مَنّ َا عٍ  لِلْخَيْر ِ مُعْتَدٍ أَثِي مٍ    
   `Utullin   Ba`da Dh ālika Zanī min       wicked oppressor, and above all, ignoble by birth,[68.13]   عُتُلٍّ  بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ زَنِي مٍ    
   'An  Kā na Dh ā Mā lin  Wa Banī na       though he be possessing wealth and children.[68.14]   أَن ْ كَا نَ ذَا مَا لٍ  وَبَنِي نَ   
   'Idh ā Tutlá `Alayhi 'Ā yātunā Qā la 'Asāţī r u A l-'Awwalī na       When Our revelations are recited to him , he says: “They are nothing but the tales of the ancients."[68.15]   إِذَا تُتْلَى عَلَيْهِ آيَاتُنَا قَا لَ أَسَاطِي ر ُا لأَوَّلِي نَ   
   Sanasimuhu  `Alá A l-Kh urţū mi       Soon We shall brand him on the snout.[68.16]   سَنَسِمُهُُعَلَى ا لْخُرْطُو مِ   
   'Inn ā Balawnāhum  Kamā Balawnā  'Aşĥā ba A l-Jann ati 'Idh  'Aq samū Layaşr imunn ahā Muşbiĥī na       Surely We shall try them as We tried the owners of the garden when they swore that they would pluck its fruit the next morning,[68.17]    إِنَّ ا بَلَوْنَاهُمْ كَمَا بَلَوْنَا  أَصْحَا بَ ا لْجَنَّ ةِ إِذْ أَقْ سَمُوا  لَيَصْر ِمُنَّ هَا مُصْبِحِي نَ   
    Wa Lā Yastath nū na       without adding any reservation ( such as God willing).[68.18]    وَلاَ يَسْتَثْنُو نَ   
   Faţā fa `Alayhā Ţā 'ifun  Min  Rabbika Wa Hum  Nā 'imū na       So a calamity from your Rabb came down upon it while they slept,[68.19]    فَطَا فَ عَلَيْهَا طَائِفٌ  مِن ْ رَبِّكَ وَهُمْ نَائِمُو نَ   
   Fa'aşbaĥat Kālşşar ī mi       and by the morning it lay as if it had been already harvested.[68.20]    فَأَصْبَحَتْ كَا ل صَّر ِي مِ   
   Fatanādaw Muşbiĥī na       At daybreak they called out to one another,[68.21]    فَتَنَادَوا مُصْبِحِي نَ   
   'Ani A gh dū `Alá Ĥarth ikum  'In  Kun tum  Şār imī na       saying: “Go out early to your crop, if you want to pick its fruit."[68.22]    أَنِ ا غْدُوا  عَلَى حَرْثِكُمْ إِن ْ كُن تُمْ صَار ِمِي نَ   
   Fān ţalaqū Wa Hum  Yatakh āfatū na       So they went, whispering to one another:[68.23]    فَان طَلَقُوا  وَهُمْ يَتَخَافَتُو نَ   
   'An  Lā Yad kh ulann ahā A l-Yawma `Alaykum  Miskī nun       “Let no needy person enter upon you in the garden today."[68.24]    أَن ْ لاَ يَد ْخُلَنَّ هَا ا لْيَوْمَ عَلَيْكُم ْ مِسْكِي نٌ   
   Wagh adaw `Alá Ĥardin  Qādir ī na       Thus they went out, fixed in their stingy resolve (not to give any fruit to the poor people, as if they had the full control over harvesting the fruit).[68.25]    وَغَدَوْا عَلَى حَرْدٍ  قَادِر ِي نَ   
   Falamm ā Ra'awhā Qālū  'Inn ā Lađā llū na       But when they saw the garden, they cried: “Surely we must have lost our way![68.26]    فَلَمَّ ا رَأَوْهَا قَالُ و ا  إِنَّ ا لَضَا لُّو نَ   
   Bal Naĥnu Maĥrūmū na       Nay, we have become destitute."[68.27]    بَلْ نَحْنُ مَحْرُومُو نَ   
   Qā la 'Awsaţuhum  'Alam  'Aqul  Lakum  Lawlā Tusabbiĥū na       The most upright among them said: “Did I not tell you to glorify Allah? Why did you not glorify Him?”[68.28]    قَا لَ أَوْسَطُهُمْ أَلَمْ أَقُل ْ لَكُمْ لَوْلاَ تُسَبِّحُو نَ   
   Qālū Sub ĥā na Rabbinā  'Inn ā Kunn ā Žālimī na       Then they said: “Glory be to our Rabb! Surely we were unjust,"[68.29]    قَالُوا  سُبْ حَا نَ رَبِّنَا  إِنَّ ا كُنَّ ا ظَالِ مِي نَ   
   Fa'aq bala Ba`đuhum  `Alá Ba`đin  Yatalāwamū na       and they started blaming one another.[68.30]    فَأَقْ بَلَ بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَى بَعْضٍ  يَتَلاَوَمُو نَ   
   Qālū Yā Waylanā  'Inn ā Kunn ā Ţāgh ī na       Finally they said: “Woe to us! Surely we had become rebellious.[68.31]    قَالُوا  يَا وَيْلَنَا  إِنَّ ا كُنَّ ا طَاغِي نَ   
   `Asá Rabbunā  'An  Yub dilanā Kh ayrāan  Minhā  'Inn ā  'Ilá Rabbinā Rāgh ibū na       It may be that our Rabb will give us in exchange a better garden than this: surely to our Rabb do we make our humble petition."[68.32]    عَسَى رَبُّنَا  أَن ْ يُبْ دِلَنَا خَيْراً  مِنْهَا  إِنَّ ا  إِلَى رَبِّنَا رَاغِبُو نَ   
   Kadh ālika A l-`Adh ā bu Wa La`adh ā bu A l-'Ā kh irati 'Akbaru Law Kānū Ya`lamū na       Such is the punishment in this life; but the punishment in the Hereafter is even greater, if they but knew it.[68.33]    كَذَلِكَ ا لْعَذَا بُ وَلَعَذَا بُ ا لآخِرَةِ أَكْبَرُ لَوْ كَا نُوا  يَعْلَمُو نَ   
   'Inn a Lilmuttaqī na `In da Rabbihim  Jann ā ti A n -Na`ī mi       Surely the righteous will be rewarded with gardens of delight by their Rabb.[68.34]   إِنّ َ لِلْمُتَّقِي نَ عِنْ دَ رَبِّهِمْ جَنّ َا تِ ا ل نَّ عِي مِ   
   'Afanaj `alu A l-Muslimī na Kālmuj r imī na       What do the disbelievers think? Shall We treat the Muslims as We treat the guilty?[68.35]   أَفَنَجْ عَلُ ا لْمُسْلِمِي نَ كَا لْمُجْ ر ِمِي نَ   
   Mā Lakum  Kayfa Taĥkumū na       What is the matter with you? What kind of Judgment do you make?[68.36]   مَا لَكُمْ كَيْفَ تَحْكُمُو نَ   
   'Am  Lakum  Kitā bun  Fī hi  Tad rusū na       Or do you have a Book in which you read,[68.37]   أَمْ لَكُمْ كِتَا بٌ فِي هِِ تَد ْرُسُو نَ   
   'Inn a Lakum  Fī hi  Lamā Takh ayyarū na       that you shall be given whatever you choose?[68.38]   إِنّ َ لَكُمْ فِي هِِ لَمَا تَخَيَّرُو نَ   
   'Am  Lakum  'Aymā nun `Alaynā Bāligh atun 'Ilá Yawmi A l-Qiyāmati 'Inn a Lakum  Lamā Taĥkumū na       Or do you have a sworn covenant - a covenant binding on Us till the Day of Resurrection - that you shall have whatever you demand?[68.39]   أَمْ لَكُمْ أَيْمَا نٌ عَلَيْنَا بَالِ غَةٌ إِلَى يَوْمِ ا لْقِيَامَةِ إِنّ َ لَكُمْ لَمَا تَحْكُمُو نَ   
   Salhum  'Ayyuhum  Bidh ālika Za`ī mun       Ask if any of them will vouch for that.[68.40]   سَلْهُم أَيُّهُم ْ بِذَلِكَ زَعِي مٌ   
   'Am  Lahum  Sh urakā 'u Falya'tū Bish urakā 'ihim  'In  Kānū Şādiqī na       Or do they have other gods who could help them against Allah? If so, let them produce their other gods if they are truthful.[68.41]   أَمْ لَهُمْ شُرَكَا ءُ فَلْيَأْتُوا  بِشُرَكَائِهِمْ إِن ْ كَا نُوا  صَادِقِي نَ   
   Yawma Yuksh afu `An  Sā qin  Wa Yud `awna 'Ilá A s-Sujū di Falā Yastaţī`ū na       On the Day of Judgment, when the dreadful events shall be unfolded, and they shall be asked to prostrate themselves, they shall not be able to do so.[68.42]   يَوْمَ يُكْشَفُ عَن ْ سَا قٍ  وَيُد ْعَوْنَ إِلَى ا ل سُّجُو دِ فَلاَ يَسْتَطِيعُو نَ   
   Kh āsh i`atan 'Ab şāruhum  Tarhaquhum  Dh illatun  Wa Qad  Kānū Yud `awna 'Ilá A s-Sujū di Wa Hum  Sālimū na      They shall stand with eyes downcast, utterly humbled; because during their safe and sound earthly life they were called upon to prostrate themselves but they refused to do so.[68.43]   خَاشِعَةً أَبْ صَارُهُمْ تَرْهَقُهُمْ ذِلَّةٌ  وَقَد ْ كَا نُوا  يُد ْعَوْنَ إِلَى ا ل سُّجُو دِ وَهُمْ سَالِ مُو نَ   
   Fadh arnī Wa Man  Yukadh dh ibu Bihadh ā A l-Ĥadīth i Sanastad r ijuhum  Min Ĥayth u Lā Ya`lamū na       O Prophet, leave to Me those who reject this revelation. We shall lead them step by step to their ruin, in ways that they cannot perceive.[68.44]   فَذَرْنِي وَمَن ْ يُكَذِّبُ بِهَذَا ا لْحَدِي ثِ سَنَسْتَد ْر ِجُهُم ْ مِنْ حَيْثُ لاَ يَعْلَمُو نَ   
    Wa 'Um lī Lahum  'Inn a Kaydī Matī nun       I shall even put up with them for a while; for My plan is fool proof.[68.45]   وَأُمْلِي لَهُمْ إِنّ َ كَيْدِي مَتِي نٌ   
   'Am  Tas'aluhum  'Aj rāan  Fahum  Min  Magh ramin  Muth qalū na       Or have you, O Prophet, demanded a compensation from them, that they are overburdened with debt?[68.46]   أَمْ تَسْأَلُهُمْ أَجْ راً فَهُم ْ مِن ْ مَغْرَمٍ  مُثْقَلُو نَ   
   'Am  `In dahumu A l-Gh aybu Fahum  Yaktubū na       Or do they have the knowledge of the unseen and they are writing it down?[68.47]   أَمْ عِنْ دَهُمُ ا لْغَيْبُ فَهُمْ يَكْتُبُو نَ   
   Fāşbir Liĥukmi Rabbika Wa Lā Takun  Kaşāĥibi A l-Ĥū ti 'Idh  Nādá Wa Huwa Makžū mun       So wait with patience for the Judgment of your Rabb and be not like the man of the fish (reference is to the Prophet Jonah who was swallowed by a whale), who cried when he was in distress[68.48]   فَاصْبِرْ لِحُكْمِ رَبِّكَ وَلاَ تَكُن ْ كَصَاحِبِ ا لْحُو تِ إِذْ نَادَى وَهُوَ مَكْظُو مٌ   
   Lawlā  'An  Tadārakahu  Ni`matun  Min  Rabbihi  Lanubidh a Bil-`Arā 'i Wa Huwa Madh mū mun       Had his Rabb not bestowed on him His grace, he would certainly have been cast off on the naked shore, while he was condemned.[68.49]   لَوْلاَ أَن ْ تَدَارَكَهُُنِعْمَةٌ  مِن ْ رَبِّهِِ لَنُبِذَ بِا لْعَرَا ءِ وَهُوَ مَذْمُو مٌ   
   Fāj tabā hu  Rabbuhu  Faja`alahu  Mina A ş-Şāliĥī na       But his Rabb chose him and included him among the righteous.[68.50]   فَاجْ تَبَا هُُرَبُّهُُفَجَعَلَهُُمِنَ ا ل صَّالِحِي نَ   
    Wa 'In  Yakā du A l-Ladh ī na Kafarū Layuzliqūnaka Bi'ab şār ihim  Lamm ā Sami`ū A dh -Dh ikra Wa Yaqūlū na 'Inn ahu  Lamaj nū nun       The unbelievers would almost trip you up with their eyes when they hear Our revelations (The Qur’an), and say: “He (Muhammad) is surely crazy."[68.51]   وَإِن ْ يَكَا دُ ا لَّذِي نَ كَفَرُوا  لَيُزْلِقُونَكَ بِأَبْ صَار ِهِمْ لَمَّ ا سَمِعُوا  ا ل ذِّكْرَ وَيَقُولُو نَ إِنَّ هُُلَمَجْ نُو نٌ   
    Wa Mā Huwa 'Illā Dh ikrun  Lil`ālamī na       This (The Qur’an) is nothing but a Reminder to all the people of the world.[68.52]   وَمَا هُوَ إِلاَّ ذِكْرٌ  لِلْعَالَمِي نَ
