| Ar-Raĥmānu | The Compassionate (Allah).[55.1] | الرَّحمَانُ |
| `Allama Al-Qur'āna | Who taught the Qur’an,[55.2] | عَلَّمَ الْقُرْآنَ |
| Khalaqa Al-'Insāna | created man[55.3] | خَلَقَ الإِنسَانَ |
| `Allamahu Al-Bayāna | and taught him how to convey his feelings and thoughts.[55.4] | عَلَّمَهُ الْبَيَانَ |
| Ash-Shamsu Wa Al-Qamaru Biĥusbānin | The sun and the moon move along their computed courses.[55.5] | الشَّمْسُ وَالْقَمَرُ بِحُسْبَانٍ |
| Wa An-Najmu Wa Ash-Shajaru Yasjudāni | The shrubs and the trees prostrate in adoration.[55.6] | وَالنَّجْمُ وَالشَّجَرُ يَسْجُدَانِ |
| Wa As-Samā'a Rafa`ahā Wa Wađa`a Al-Mīzāna | He has raised the heaven on high and created the balance:[55.7] | وَالسَّمَاءَ رَفَعَهَا وَوَضَعَ الْمِيزَانَ |
| 'Allā Taţghaw Fī Al-Mīzāni | don’t ever tamper with this balance.[55.8] | أَلاَّ تَطْغَوْا فِي الْمِيزَانِ |
| Wa 'Aqīmū Al-Wazna Bil-Qisţi Wa Lā Tukhsirū Al-Mīzāna | Therefore, you also establish weight with justice and do not give less measure.[55.9] | وَأَقِيمُوا الْوَزْنَ بِالْقِسْطِ وَلاَ تُخْسِرُوا الْمِيزَانَ |
| Wa Al-'Arđa Wađa`ahā Lil'anāmi | He laid out the earth for His creatures,[55.10] | وَالأَرْضَ وَضَعَهَا لِلأَنَامِ |
| Fīhā Fākihatun Wa An-Nakhlu Dhātu Al-'Akmāmi | with all its fruits and palms having sheathed clusters,[55.11] | فِيهَا فَاكِهَةٌ وَالنَّخْلُ ذَاتُ الأَكْمَامِ |
| Wa Al-Ĥabbu Dhū Al-`Aşfi Wa Ar-Rayĥānu | and grain with husk and scented herbs.[55.12] | وَالْحَبُّ ذُو الْعَصْفِ وَالرَّيْحَانُ |
| Fabi'ayyi 'Ālā'i Rabbikumā Tukadhdhibāni | So, O jinn and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?[55.13] | فَبِأَيِّ آلاَءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ |
| Khalaqa Al-'Insāna Min Şalşālin Kālfakhkhāri | He created man from sounding clay similar to pottery,[55.14] | خَلَقَ الإِنسَانَ مِنْ صَلْصَالٍ كَالْفَخَّارِ |
| Wa Khalaqa Al-Jānna Min Mārijin Min Nārin | and created jinns from smokeless fire.[55.15] | وَخَلَقَ الْجَانَّ مِنْ مَارِجٍ مِنْ نَارٍ |
| Fabi'ayyi 'Ālā'i Rabbikumā Tukadhdhibāni | So, O jinn and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?[55.16] | فَبِأَيِّ آلاَءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ |
| Rabbu Al-Mashriqayni Wa Rabbu Al-Maghribayni | He is Rabb of the two easts and the Rabb of the two wests.[55.17] | رَبُّ الْمَشْرِقَيْنِ وَرَبُّ الْمَغْرِبَيْنِ |
| Fabi'ayyi 'Ālā'i Rabbikumā Tukadhdhibāni | So, O jinn and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?[55.18] | فَبِأَيِّ آلاَءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ |
| Maraja Al-Baĥrayni Yaltaqiyāni | He has made the two oceans apparently meeting together,[55.19] | مَرَجَ الْبَحْرَيْنِ يَلْتَقِيَانِ |
| Baynahumā Barzakhun Lā Yabghiyāni | yet between them is a barrier which they cannot cross.[55.20] | بَيْنَهُمَا بَرْزَخ ٌ لاَ يَبْغِيَانِ |
| Fabi'ayyi 'Ālā'i Rabbikumā Tukadhdhibāni | So, O jinn and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?[55.21] | فَبِأَيِّ آلاَءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ |
| Yakhruju Minhumā Al-Lu'ulu'uu Wa Al-Marjānu | He produces pearls and coral from both of them.[55.22] | يَخْرُجُ مِنْهُمَا اللُّؤْلُؤُ وَالْمَرْجَانُ |
| Fabi'ayyi 'Ālā'i Rabbikumā Tukadhdhibāni | So, O jinn and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?[55.23] | فَبِأَيِّ آلاَءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ |
| Wa Lahu Al-Jawāri Al-Munsha'ātu Fī Al-Baĥri Kāl'a`lāmi | His are the ships looming up like mountains on the sea.[55.24] | وَلَهُ الْجَوَارِ الْمُنشَآتُ فِي الْبَحْرِ كَالأَعْلاَمِ |
| Fabi'ayyi 'Ālā'i Rabbikumā Tukadhdhibāni | So, O jinn and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?[55.25] | فَبِأَيِّ آلاَءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ |
| Kullu Man `Alayhā Fānin | All that exists on the earth will perish,[55.26] | كُلُّ مَنْ عَلَيْهَا فَانٍ |
| Wa Yabqá Wajhu Rabbika Dhū Al-Jalāli Wa Al-'Ikrāmi | but the Face of your Rabb will remain full of Majesty and Glory.[55.27] | وَيَبْقَى وَجْهُ رَبِّكَ ذُو الْجَلاَلِ وَالإِكْرَامِ |
| Fabi'ayyi 'Ālā'i Rabbikumā Tukadhdhibāni | Then, O jinn and men, which of your Rabb’s glories will both of you deny?[55.28] | فَبِأَيِّ آلاَءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ |
| Yas'aluhu Man Fī As-Samāwāti Wa Al-'Arđi Kulla Yawmin Huwa Fī Sha'nin | All who dwell in the heavens and the earth, implore Him for their needs, every moment He is busy in some mighty task.[55.29] | يَسْأَلُهُُمَنْ فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالأَرْضِ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ هُوَ فِي شَأْنٍ |
| Fabi'ayyi 'Ālā'i Rabbikumā Tukadhdhibāni | Then, O jinn and men, which of your Rabb’s honors will both of you deny?[55.30] | فَبِأَيِّ آلاَءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ |
| Sanafrughu Lakum 'Ayyuhā Ath-Thaqalāni | O you, the two burdens (jinns and mankind)! Soon We shall find the time to call you to account.[55.31] | سَنَفْرُغُ لَكُمْ أَيُّهَا الثَّقَلاَنِ |
| Fabi'ayyi 'Ālā'i Rabbikumā Tukadhdhibāni | Then, O jinn and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?[55.32] | فَبِأَيِّ آلاَءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ |
| Yā Ma`shara Al-Jinni Wa Al-'Insi 'Ini Astaţa`tum 'An Tanfudhū Min 'Aqţāri As-Samāwāti Wa Al-'Arđi Fānfudhū Lā Tanfudhūna 'Illā Bisulţānin | O you, the assembly of jinns and men! If you have the power to get away from the boundaries of the heavens and the earth (to escape from His punishment), then get away! You cannot get away except with Our Own authority.[55.33] | يَامَعْشَرَ الْجِنِّ وَالإِنسِ إِنِ اسْتَطَعْتُمْ أَنْ تَنفُذُوا مِنْ أَقْطَارِ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالأَرْضِ فَانفُذُوا لاَ تَنفُذُونَ إِلاَّ بِسُلْطَانٍ |
| Fabi'ayyi 'Ālā'i Rabbikumā Tukadhdhibāni | Then, O jinn and men, which of your Rabb’s authorities will both of you deny?[55.34] | فَبِأَيِّ آلاَءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ |
| Yursalu `Alaykumā Shuwāžun Min Nārin Wa Nuĥāsun Falā Tantaşirāni | The flames of fire and molten brass will be unleashed on you both, jinn and men, and you will not be able to defend yourselves.[55.35] | يُرْسَلُ عَلَيْكُمَا شُوَاظٌ مِنْ نَارٍ وَنُحَاسٌ فَلاَ تَنتَصِرَانِ |
| Fabi'ayyi 'Ālā'i Rabbikumā Tukadhdhibāni | Then, O jinn and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?[55.36] | فَبِأَيِّ آلاَءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ |
| Fa'idhā Anshaqqati As-Samā'u Fakānat Wardatan Kālddihāni | When the heaven will burst and will become red like red hide.[55.37] | فَإِذَا انشَقَّتِ السَّمَاءُ فَكَانَتْ وَرْدَةً كَالدِّهَانِ |
| Fabi'ayyi 'Ālā'i Rabbikumā Tukadhdhibāni | Then, O jinn and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?[55.38] | فَبِأَيِّ آلاَءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ |
| Fayawma'idhin Lā Yus'alu `An Dhanbihi 'Insun Wa Lā Jānnun | On that Day neither man nor jinn will need be asked about his sins.[55.39] | فَيَوْمَئِذٍ لاَ يُسْأَلُ عَنْ ذَنْبِهِ إِنسٌ وَلاَ جَانٌّ |
| Fabi'ayyi 'Ālā'i Rabbikumā Tukadhdhibāni | Then, O jinn and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?[55.40] | فَبِأَيِّ آلاَءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ |
| Yu`rafu Al-Mujrimūna Bisīmāhum Fayu'ukhadhu Bin-Nawāşī Wa Al-'Aqdāmi | Because the sinners will be recognized by their faces and they shall be seized by their forelocks and their feet.[55.41] | يُعْرَفُ الْمُجْرِمُونَ بِسِيمَاهُمْ فَيُؤْخَذُ بِالنَّوَاصِي وَالأَقْدَامِ |
| Fabi'ayyi 'Ālā'i Rabbikumā Tukadhdhibāni | Then, O jinn and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?[55.42] | فَبِأَيِّ آلاَءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ |
| Hadhihi Jahannamu Allatī Yukadhdhibu Bihā Al-Mujrimūna | It will be said to them: “This is the hell which the culprits denied."[55.43] | هَذِهِِ جَهَنَّمُ الَّتِي يُكَذِّبُ بِهَا الْمُجْرِمُونَ |
| Yaţūfūna Baynahā Wa Bayna Ĥamīmin 'Ānin | They shall wander to and fro between fire and hot boiling water.[55.44] | يَطُوفُونَ بَيْنَهَا وَبَيْنَ حَمِيمٍ آنٍ |
| Fabi'ayyi 'Ālā'i Rabbikumā Tukadhdhibāni | Then, O jinn and men, which of your Rabb’s warnings will both of you deny?[55.45] | فَبِأَيِّ آلاَءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ |
| Wa Liman Khāfa Maqāma Rabbihi Jannatāni | For those who fear the time when they will have to stand before their Rabb there are two gardens.[55.46] | وَلِمَنْ خَافَ مَقَامَ رَبِّهِِ جَنَّتَانِ |
| Fabi'ayyi 'Ālā'i Rabbikumā Tukadhdhibāni | Then, O jinn and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?[55.47] | فَبِأَيِّ آلاَءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ |
| Dhawātā 'Afnānin | Having shady trees with lush green branches.[55.48] | ذَوَاتَا أَفْنَانٍ |
| Fabi'ayyi 'Ālā'i Rabbikumā Tukadhdhibāni | Then, O jinn and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?[55.49] | فَبِأَيِّ آلاَءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ |
| Fīhimā `Aynāni Tajriyāni | Each of them will be watered by two flowing springs.[55.50] | فِيهِمَا عَيْنَانِ تَجْرِيَانِ |
| Fabi'ayyi 'Ālā'i Rabbikumā Tukadhdhibāni | Then, O jinn and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?[55.51] | فَبِأَيِّ آلاَءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ |
| Fīhimā Min Kulli Fākihatin Zawjāni | In both of them there will be two pairs of every fruit.[55.52] | فِيهِمَا مِنْ كُلِّ فَاكِهَةٍ زَوْجَانِ |
| Fabi'ayyi 'Ālā'i Rabbikumā Tukadhdhibāni | Then, O jinn and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?[55.53] | فَبِأَيِّ آلاَءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ |
| Muttaki'īna `Alá Furushin Baţā'inuhā Min 'Istabraqin Wa Janá Al-Jannatayni Dānin | They will recline on couches upholstered with rich brocade while the fruit of the gardens will be within their easy reach.[55.54] | مُتَّكِئِينَ عَلَى فُرُشٍ بَطَائِنُهَا مِنْ إِسْتَبْرَقٍ وَجَنَى الْجَنَّتَيْنِ دَانٍ |
| Fabi'ayyi 'Ālā'i Rabbikumā Tukadhdhibāni | Then, O jinn and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?[55.55] | فَبِأَيِّ آلاَءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ |
| Fīhinna Qāşirātu Aţ-Ţarfi Lam Yaţmithhunna 'Insun Qablahum Wa Lā Jānnun | Therein will be bashful virgins, whom neither any man nor jinn has touched before.[55.56] | فِيهِنَّ قَاصِرَاتُ الطَّرْفِ لَمْ يَطْمِثْهُنَّ إِنْسٌ قَبْلَهُمْ وَلاَ جَانٌّ |
| Fabi'ayyi 'Ālā'i Rabbikumā Tukadhdhibāni | Then, O jinn and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?[55.57] | فَبِأَيِّ آلاَءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ |
| Ka'annahunna Al-Yāqūtu Wa Al-Marjānu | So beautiful as though they were rubies and corals.[55.58] | كَأَنَّهُنَّ الْيَاقُوتُ وَالْمَرْجَانُ |
| Fabi'ayyi 'Ālā'i Rabbikumā Tukadhdhibāni | Then, O jinn and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?[55.59] | فَبِأَيِّ آلاَءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ |
| Hal Jazā'u Al-'Iĥsāni 'Illā Al-'Iĥsānu | Could the reward for goodness be anything but goodness?[55.60] | هَلْ جَزَاءُ الإِحْسَانِ إِلاَّ الإِحْسَانُ |
| Fabi'ayyi 'Ālā'i Rabbikumā Tukadhdhibāni | Then, O jinn and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?[55.61] | فَبِأَيِّ آلاَءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ |
| Wa Min Dūnihimā Jannatāni | And besides these two there shall be two other gardens.[55.62] | وَمِنْ دُونِهِمَا جَنَّتَانِ |
| Fabi'ayyi 'Ālā'i Rabbikumā Tukadhdhibāni | Then, O jinn and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?[55.63] | فَبِأَيِّ آلاَءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ |
| Mud/hāmmatāni | Densely shaded with dark green trees.[55.64] | مُدْهَامَّتَانِ |
| Fabi'ayyi 'Ālā'i Rabbikumā Tukadhdhibāni | Then, O jinn and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?[55.65] | فَبِأَيِّ آلاَءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ |
| Fīhimā `Aynāni Nađđākhatāni | In both of them there will be two gushing springs.[55.66] | فِيهِمَا عَيْنَانِ نَضَّاخَتَانِ |
| Fabi'ayyi 'Ālā'i Rabbikumā Tukadhdhibāni | Then, O jinn and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?[55.67] | فَبِأَيِّ آلاَءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ |
| Fīhimā Fākihatun Wa Nakhlun Wa Rummānun | Each planted with fruit trees, dates and pomegranates.[55.68] | فِيهِمَا فَاكِهَةٌ وَنَخْلٌ وَرُمَّانٌ |
| Fabi'ayyi 'Ālā'i Rabbikumā Tukadhdhibāni | Then, O jinn and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?[55.69] | فَبِأَيِّ آلاَءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ |
| Fīhinna Khayrātun Ĥisānun | In each of them, there will be chaste and beautiful virgins.[55.70] | فِيهِنَّ خَيْرَاتٌ حِسَانٌ |
| Fabi'ayyi 'Ālā'i Rabbikumā Tukadhdhibāni | Then, O jinn and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?[55.71] | فَبِأَيِّ آلاَءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ |
| Ĥūrun Maqşūrātun Fī Al-Khiyāmi | Hüris (beautiful damsels) sheltered in their tents.[55.72] | حُورٌ مَقْصُورَاتٌ فِي الْخِيَامِ |
| Fabi'ayyi 'Ālā'i Rabbikumā Tukadhdhibāni | Then, O jinn and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?[55.73] | فَبِأَيِّ آلاَءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ |
| Lam Yaţmithhunna 'Insun Qablahum Wa Lā Jānnun | Whom neither man nor Jinn has ever touched before.[55.74] | لَمْ يَطْمِثْهُنَّ إِنسٌ قَبْلَهُمْ وَلاَ جَانٌّ |
| Fabi'ayyi 'Ālā'i Rabbikumā Tukadhdhibāni | Then, O jinn and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?[55.75] | فَبِأَيِّ آلاَءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ |
| Muttaki'īna `Alá Rafrafin Khuđrin Wa `Abqarīyin Ĥisānin | Reclining on green cushions and beautiful fine carpets.[55.76] | مُتَّكِئِينَ عَلَى رَفْرَفٍ خُضْرٍ وَعَبْقَرِيٍّ حِسَانٍ |
| Fabi'ayyi 'Ālā'i Rabbikumā Tukadhdhibāni | Then, O jinn and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?[55.77] | فَبِأَيِّ آلاَءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ |
| Tabāraka Asmu Rabbika Dhī Al-Jalāli Wa Al-'Ikrāmi | Blessed be the name of your Rabb, His Majesty and His Honor.[55.78] | تَبَارَكَ اسْمُ رَبِّكَ ذِي الْجَلاَلِ وَالإِكْرَامِ |
