Ar-Raĥmā nu The Compassionate (Allah).[55.1] ا ل رَّحمَا نُ
`Allama A l-Qur'ā na Who taught the Qur’an,[55.2] عَلَّمَ ا لْقُرْآنَ
Kh alaqa A l-'In sā na created man[55.3] خَلَقَ ا لإِن سَا نَ
`Allamahu A l-Bayā na and taught him how to convey his feelings and thoughts.[55.4] عَلَّمَهُ ا لْبَيَا نَ
Ash -Sh am su Wa A l-Qamaru Biĥusbā nin The sun and the moon move along their computed courses.[55.5] ا ل شَّمْسُ وَالْقَمَرُ بِحُسْبَا نٍ
Wa A n -Naj mu Wa A sh -Sh ajaru Yasjudā ni The shrubs and the trees prostrate in adoration.[55.6] وَالنَّ جْ مُ وَال شَّجَرُ يَسْجُدَا نِ
Wa A s-Samā 'a Rafa`ahā Wa Wađa`a A l-Mīzā na He has raised the heaven on high and created the balance:[55.7] وَالسَّمَا ءَ رَفَعَهَا وَوَضَعَ ا لْمِيزَا نَ
'Allā Taţ gh aw Fī A l-Mīzā ni don’t ever tamper with this balance.[55.8] أَلاَّ تَطْ غَوْا فِي ا لْمِيزَا نِ
Wa 'Aqīmū A l-Wazna Bil-Qisţi Wa Lā Tukh sirū A l-Mīzā na Therefore, you also establish weight with justice and do not give less measure.[55.9] وَأَقِيمُوا ا لْوَزْنَ بِا لْقِسْطِ وَلاَ تُخْسِرُوا ا لْمِيزَا نَ
Wa A l-'Arđa Wađa`ahā Lil'anā mi He laid out the earth for His creatures,[55.10] وَالأَرْضَ وَضَعَهَا لِلأَنَا مِ
Fīhā Fākihatun Wa A n -Nakh lu Dh ā tu A l-'Akmā mi with all its fruits and palms having sheathed clusters,[55.11] فِيهَا فَا كِهَةٌ وَال نَّ خْلُ ذَا تُ ا لأَكْمَا مِ
Wa A l-Ĥabbu Dh ū A l-`Aşfi Wa A r-Rayĥā nu and grain with husk and scented herbs.[55.12] وَالْحَبُّ ذُو ا لْعَصْفِ وَال رَّيْحَا نُ
Fabi'ayyi 'Ā lā 'i Rabbikumā Tukadh dh ibā ni So, O jinn and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?[55.13] فَبِأَيِّ آلاَءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَا نِ
Kh alaqa A l-'In sā na Min Şalşā lin Kālfakh kh ā r i He created man from sounding clay similar to pottery,[55.14] خَلَقَ ا لإِن سَا نَ مِن ْ صَلْصَا لٍ كَا لْفَخَّا ر ِ
Wa Kh alaqa A l-Jā nn a Min Mār ijin Min Nā r in and created jinns from smokeless fire.[55.15] وَخَلَقَ ا لْجَا نّ َ مِن ْ مَار ِجٍ مِن ْ نَا رٍ
Fabi'ayyi 'Ā lā 'i Rabbikumā Tukadh dh ibā ni So, O jinn and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?[55.16] فَبِأَيِّ آلاَءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَا نِ
Rabbu A l-Mash r iqayni Wa Rabbu A l-Magh r ibayni He is Rabb of the two easts and the Rabb of the two wests.[55.17] رَبُّ ا لْمَشْر ِقَيْنِ وَرَبُّ ا لْمَغْر ِبَيْنِ
Fabi'ayyi 'Ā lā 'i Rabbikumā Tukadh dh ibā ni So, O jinn and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?[55.18] فَبِأَيِّ آلاَءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَا نِ
Maraja A l-Baĥrayni Yaltaqiyā ni He has made the two oceans apparently meeting together,[55.19] مَرَجَ ا لْبَحْرَيْنِ يَلْتَقِيَا نِ
Baynahumā Barzakh un Lā Yab gh iyā ni yet between them is a barrier which they cannot cross.[55.20] بَيْنَهُمَا بَرْزَخ ٌ لاَ يَبْ غِيَا نِ
Fabi'ayyi 'Ā lā 'i Rabbikumā Tukadh dh ibā ni So, O jinn and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?[55.21] فَبِأَيِّ آلاَءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَا نِ
Yakh ruju Minhumā A l-Lu'ulu'uu Wa A l-Marjā nu He produces pearls and coral from both of them.[55.22] يَخْرُجُ مِنْهُمَا ا ل لُّؤْلُؤُ وَالْمَرْجَا نُ
Fabi'ayyi 'Ā lā 'i Rabbikumā Tukadh dh ibā ni So, O jinn and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?[55.23] فَبِأَيِّ آلاَءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَا نِ
Wa Lahu A l-Jawā r i A l-Mun sh a'ā tu Fī A l-Baĥr i Kāl'a`lā mi His are the ships looming up like mountains on the sea.[55.24] وَلَهُ ا لْجَوَا ر ِ ا لْمُن شَآتُ فِي ا لْبَحْر ِ كَا لأَعْلاَمِ
Fabi'ayyi 'Ā lā 'i Rabbikumā Tukadh dh ibā ni So, O jinn and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?[55.25] فَبِأَيِّ آلاَءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَا نِ
Kullu Man `Alayhā Fā nin All that exists on the earth will perish,[55.26] كُلُّ مَنْ عَلَيْهَا فَا نٍ
Wa Yab qá Waj hu Rabbika Dh ū A l-Jalā li Wa A l-'Ikrā mi but the Face of your Rabb will remain full of Majesty and Glory.[55.27] وَيَبْ قَى وَجْ هُ رَبِّكَ ذُو ا لْجَلاَلِ وَالإِكْرَا مِ
Fabi'ayyi 'Ā lā 'i Rabbikumā Tukadh dh ibā ni Then, O jinn and men, which of your Rabb’s glories will both of you deny?[55.28] فَبِأَيِّ آلاَءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَا نِ
Yas'aluhu Man Fī A s-Samāwā ti Wa A l-'Arđi Kulla Yawmin Huwa Fī Sh a'nin All who dwell in the heavens and the earth, implore Him for their needs, every moment He is busy in some mighty task.[55.29] يَسْأَلُهُُمَن ْ فِي ا ل سَّمَاوَا تِ وَالأَرْضِ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ هُوَ فِي شَأْنٍ
Fabi'ayyi 'Ā lā 'i Rabbikumā Tukadh dh ibā ni Then, O jinn and men, which of your Rabb’s honors will both of you deny?[55.30] فَبِأَيِّ آلاَءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَا نِ
Sanafrugh u Lakum 'Ayyuhā A th -Th aqalā ni O you, the two burdens (jinns and mankind)! Soon We shall find the time to call you to account.[55.31] سَنَفْرُغُ لَكُمْ أَيُّهَا ا ل ثَّقَلاَنِ
Fabi'ayyi 'Ā lā 'i Rabbikumā Tukadh dh ibā ni Then, O jinn and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?[55.32] فَبِأَيِّ آلاَءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَا نِ
Yā Ma`sh ara A l-Jinn i Wa A l-'In si 'Ini A staţa`tum 'An Tan fudh ū Min 'Aq ţā r i A s-Samāwā ti Wa A l-'Arđi Fān fudh ū Lā Tan fudh ū na 'Illā Bisulţā nin O you, the assembly of jinns and men! If you have the power to get away from the boundaries of the heavens and the earth (to escape from His punishment), then get away! You cannot get away except with Our Own authority.[55.33] يَامَعْشَرَ ا لْجِنّ ِ وَالإِن سِ إِنِ ا سْتَطَعْتُمْ أَن ْ تَن فُذُوا مِنْ أَقْ طَا ر ِ ا ل سَّمَاوَا تِ وَالأَرْضِ فَا ن فُذُوا لاَ تَن فُذُو نَ إِلاَّ بِسُلْطَا نٍ
Fabi'ayyi 'Ā lā 'i Rabbikumā Tukadh dh ibā ni Then, O jinn and men, which of your Rabb’s authorities will both of you deny?[55.34] فَبِأَيِّ آلاَءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَا نِ
Yursalu `Alaykumā Sh uwāžun Min Nā r in Wa Nuĥā sun Falā Tan taşirā ni The flames of fire and molten brass will be unleashed on you both, jinn and men, and you will not be able to defend yourselves.[55.35] يُرْسَلُ عَلَيْكُمَا شُوَا ظٌ مِن ْ نَا رٍ وَنُحَا سٌ فَلاَ تَن تَصِرَا نِ
Fabi'ayyi 'Ā lā 'i Rabbikumā Tukadh dh ibā ni Then, O jinn and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?[55.36] فَبِأَيِّ آلاَءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَا نِ
Fa'idh ā A n sh aqqati A s-Samā 'u Fakānat Wardatan Kālddihā ni When the heaven will burst and will become red like red hide.[55.37] فَإِذَا ا ن شَقَّتِ ا ل سَّمَا ءُ فَكَانَتْ وَرْدَةً كَا ل دِّهَا نِ
Fabi'ayyi 'Ā lā 'i Rabbikumā Tukadh dh ibā ni Then, O jinn and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?[55.38] فَبِأَيِّ آلاَءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَا نِ
Fayawma'idh in Lā Yus'alu `An Dh an bihi 'In sun Wa Lā Jā nn un On that Day neither man nor jinn will need be asked about his sins.[55.39] فَيَوْمَئِذٍ لاَ يُسْأَلُ عَن ْ ذَنْ بِهِ إِن سٌ وَلاَ جَا نّ ٌ
Fabi'ayyi 'Ā lā 'i Rabbikumā Tukadh dh ibā ni Then, O jinn and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?[55.40] فَبِأَيِّ آلاَءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَا نِ
Yu`rafu A l-Muj r imū na Bisīmāhum Fayu'ukh adh u Bin -Nawāşī Wa A l-'Aq dā mi Because the sinners will be recognized by their faces and they shall be seized by their forelocks and their feet.[55.41] يُعْرَفُ ا لْمُجْ ر ِمُو نَ بِسِيمَاهُمْ فَيُؤْخَذُ بِا ل نَّ وَاصِي وَالأَقْ دَا مِ
Fabi'ayyi 'Ā lā 'i Rabbikumā Tukadh dh ibā ni Then, O jinn and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?[55.42] فَبِأَيِّ آلاَءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَا نِ
Hadh ihi Jahann amu A llatī Yukadh dh ibu Bihā A l-Muj r imū na It will be said to them: “This is the hell which the culprits denied."[55.43] هَذِهِِ جَهَنَّ مُ ا لَّتِي يُكَذِّبُ بِهَا ا لْمُجْ ر ِمُو نَ
Yaţūfū na Baynahā Wa Bayna Ĥamī min 'Ā nin They shall wander to and fro between fire and hot boiling water.[55.44] يَطُوفُو نَ بَيْنَهَا وَبَيْنَ حَمِي مٍ آنٍ
Fabi'ayyi 'Ā lā 'i Rabbikumā Tukadh dh ibā ni Then, O jinn and men, which of your Rabb’s warnings will both of you deny?[55.45] فَبِأَيِّ آلاَءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَا نِ
Wa Liman Kh ā fa Maqā ma Rabbihi Jann atā ni For those who fear the time when they will have to stand before their Rabb there are two gardens.[55.46] وَلِمَنْ خَا فَ مَقَا مَ رَبِّهِِ جَنَّ تَا نِ
Fabi'ayyi 'Ā lā 'i Rabbikumā Tukadh dh ibā ni Then, O jinn and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?[55.47] فَبِأَيِّ آلاَءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَا نِ
Dh awātā 'Afnā nin Having shady trees with lush green branches.[55.48] ذَوَاتَا أَفْنَا نٍ
Fabi'ayyi 'Ā lā 'i Rabbikumā Tukadh dh ibā ni Then, O jinn and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?[55.49] فَبِأَيِّ آلاَءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَا نِ
Fīhimā `Aynā ni Taj r iyā ni Each of them will be watered by two flowing springs.[55.50] فِيهِمَا عَيْنَا نِ تَجْ ر ِيَا نِ
Fabi'ayyi 'Ā lā 'i Rabbikumā Tukadh dh ibā ni Then, O jinn and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?[55.51] فَبِأَيِّ آلاَءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَا نِ
Fīhimā Min Kulli Fākihatin Zawjā ni In both of them there will be two pairs of every fruit.[55.52] فِيهِمَا مِن ْ كُلِّ فَا كِهَةٍ زَوْجَا نِ
Fabi'ayyi 'Ā lā 'i Rabbikumā Tukadh dh ibā ni Then, O jinn and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?[55.53] فَبِأَيِّ آلاَءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَا نِ
Muttaki'ī na `Alá Furush in Baţā 'inuhā Min 'Istab raqin Wa Jan á A l-Jann atayni Dā nin They will recline on couches upholstered with rich brocade while the fruit of the gardens will be within their easy reach.[55.54] مُتَّكِئِي نَ عَلَى فُرُشٍ بَطَائِنُهَا مِن ْ إِسْتَبْ رَقٍ وَجَنَى ا لْجَنَّ تَيْنِ دَا نٍ
Fabi'ayyi 'Ā lā 'i Rabbikumā Tukadh dh ibā ni Then, O jinn and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?[55.55] فَبِأَيِّ آلاَءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَا نِ
Fīhinn a Qāşirā tu A ţ -Ţarfi Lam Yaţ mith hunn a 'In sun Qab lahum Wa Lā Jā nn un Therein will be bashful virgins, whom neither any man nor jinn has touched before.[55.56] فِيهِنّ َ قَاصِرَا تُ ا ل طَّرْفِ لَمْ يَطْ مِثْهُنّ َ إِنْ سٌ قَبْ لَهُمْ وَلاَ جَا نّ ٌ
Fabi'ayyi 'Ā lā 'i Rabbikumā Tukadh dh ibā ni Then, O jinn and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?[55.57] فَبِأَيِّ آلاَءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَا نِ
Ka'ann ahunn a A l-Yāqū tu Wa A l-Marjā nu So beautiful as though they were rubies and corals.[55.58] كَأَنَّ هُنّ َ ا لْيَاقُو تُ وَالْمَرْجَا نُ
Fabi'ayyi 'Ā lā 'i Rabbikumā Tukadh dh ibā ni Then, O jinn and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?[55.59] فَبِأَيِّ آلاَءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَا نِ
Hal Jazā 'u A l-'Iĥsā ni 'Illā A l-'Iĥsā nu Could the reward for goodness be anything but goodness?[55.60] هَلْ جَزَا ءُ ا لإِحْسَا نِ إِلاَّ ا لإِحْسَا نُ
Fabi'ayyi 'Ā lā 'i Rabbikumā Tukadh dh ibā ni Then, O jinn and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?[55.61] فَبِأَيِّ آلاَءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَا نِ
Wa Min Dūnihimā Jann atā ni And besides these two there shall be two other gardens.[55.62] وَمِن ْ دُونِهِمَا جَنَّ تَا نِ
Fabi'ayyi 'Ā lā 'i Rabbikumā Tukadh dh ibā ni Then, O jinn and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?[55.63] فَبِأَيِّ آلاَءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَا نِ
Mud /hā mm atā ni Densely shaded with dark green trees.[55.64] مُد ْهَا مَّ تَا نِ
Fabi'ayyi 'Ā lā 'i Rabbikumā Tukadh dh ibā ni Then, O jinn and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?[55.65] فَبِأَيِّ آلاَءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَا نِ
Fīhimā `Aynā ni Nađđākh atā ni In both of them there will be two gushing springs.[55.66] فِيهِمَا عَيْنَا نِ نَضَّاخَتَا نِ
Fabi'ayyi 'Ā lā 'i Rabbikumā Tukadh dh ibā ni Then, O jinn and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?[55.67] فَبِأَيِّ آلاَءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَا نِ
Fīhimā Fākihatun Wa Nakh lun Wa Rumm ā nun Each planted with fruit trees, dates and pomegranates.[55.68] فِيهِمَا فَا كِهَةٌ وَنَخْلٌ وَرُمّ َا نٌ
Fabi'ayyi 'Ā lā 'i Rabbikumā Tukadh dh ibā ni Then, O jinn and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?[55.69] فَبِأَيِّ آلاَءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَا نِ
Fīhinn a Kh ayrā tun Ĥisā nun In each of them, there will be chaste and beautiful virgins.[55.70] فِيهِنّ َ خَيْرَا تٌ حِسَا نٌ
Fabi'ayyi 'Ā lā 'i Rabbikumā Tukadh dh ibā ni Then, O jinn and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?[55.71] فَبِأَيِّ آلاَءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَا نِ
Ĥū run Maq şūrā tun Fī A l-Kh iyā mi Hüris (beautiful damsels) sheltered in their tents.[55.72] حُو رٌ مَقْ صُورَا تٌ فِي ا لْخِيَا مِ
Fabi'ayyi 'Ā lā 'i Rabbikumā Tukadh dh ibā ni Then, O jinn and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?[55.73] فَبِأَيِّ آلاَءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَا نِ
Lam Yaţ mith hunn a 'In sun Qab lahum Wa Lā Jā nn un Whom neither man nor Jinn has ever touched before.[55.74] لَمْ يَطْ مِثْهُنّ َ إِن سٌ قَبْ لَهُمْ وَلاَ جَا نّ ٌ
Fabi'ayyi 'Ā lā 'i Rabbikumā Tukadh dh ibā ni Then, O jinn and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?[55.75] فَبِأَيِّ آلاَءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَا نِ
Muttaki'ī na `Alá Rafrafin Kh uđr in Wa `Ab qar ī yin Ĥisā nin Reclining on green cushions and beautiful fine carpets.[55.76] مُتَّكِئِي نَ عَلَى رَفْرَفٍ خُضْرٍ وَعَبْ قَر ِيٍّ حِسَا نٍ
Fabi'ayyi 'Ā lā 'i Rabbikumā Tukadh dh ibā ni Then, O jinn and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?[55.77] فَبِأَيِّ آلاَءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَا نِ
Tabāraka A smu Rabbika Dh ī A l-Jalā li Wa A l-'Ikrā mi Blessed be the name of your Rabb, His Majesty and His Honor.[55.78] تَبَارَكَ ا سْمُ رَبِّكَ ذِي ا لْجَلاَلِ وَالإِكْرَا مِ
