Wa An-Najmi 'Idhā Hawá | By the star when it sets,[53.1] |
Mā Đalla Şāĥibukum Wa Mā Ghawá | your companion (Muhammad) is neither astray, nor misguided,[53.2] |

'In Huwa 'Illā Waĥyun Yūĥá | This Qur’an is but an inspired revelation.[53.4] |
`Allamahu Shadīdu Al-Quwá | He is being taught by one who is mighty powerful (angel Gabriel);[53.5] |
Dhū Mirratin Fāstawá | the one free from defects who became stable in the view.[53.6] |
Wa Huwa Bil-'Ufuqi Al-'A`lá | He stood poised at the uppermost horizon,[53.7] |
Thumma Danā Fatadallá | then he drew near, coming closer[53.8] |
Fakāna Qāba Qawsayni 'Aw 'Adná | within the length of two bows or even closer,[53.9] |
Fa'awĥá 'Ilá `Abdihi Mā 'Awĥá | and revealed to Allah's servant (Muhammad) that what he was supposed to reveal.[53.10] |
Mā Kadhaba Al-Fu'uādu Mā Ra'á | His (Muhammad’s) own heart did not deny that which he saw.[53.11] |
'Afatumārūnahu `Alá Mā Yará | How can you, O unbelievers then, question what he saw?[53.12] |
Wa Laqad Ra'āhu Nazlatan 'Ukhrá | And he (Muhammad) saw him once again[53.13] |
`Inda Sidrati Al-Muntahá | near Sidra-tul-Muntaha (the Lote-tree at the farthest end of the seven heavens, beyond which none can pass).[53.14] |
`Indahā Jannatu Al-Ma'wá | Near it is Janna-tul-M’awa (the rest-house of paradise).[53.15] |
'Idh Yaghshá As-Sidrata Mā Yaghshá | When that Lote-tree was covered with what covered it,[53.16] | إِذْ يَغْشَى السِّدْرَةَ مَا يَغْشَى |

'Afara'aytumu Al-Lāta Wa Al-`Uzzá | Have you ever seen Lمt and Uzza[53.19] | أَفَرَأَيْتُمُ اللاَّتَ وَالْعُزَّى |
Wa Manāata Ath-Thālithata Al-'Ukhrá | and another, the third Manمt (names of Arabian idols, claimed by the pagans of Makkah to be the daughters of Allah)?[53.20] | وَمَنَاةَ الثَّالِثَةَ الأُخْرَى |
'Alakumu Adh-Dhakaru Wa Lahu Al-'Unthá | Are you to have sons, and He the daughters?[53.21] |
Tilka 'Idhāan Qismatun Đīzá | This indeed is an unfair division![53.22] |

The unbelievers follow nothing but mere conjecture and the whims of their own souls, even though right guidance has already come to them from their Rabb.[53.23] | إِنْ هِيَ إِلاَّ أَسْمَاء ٌ سَمَّيْتُمُوهَا أَنْتُمْ وَآبَاؤُكُمْ مَا أَنزَلَ اللَّهُ بِهَا مِنْ سُلْطَان ٍ إِنْ يَتَّبِعُونَ إِلاَّ الظَّنَّ وَمَا تَهْوَى الأَنْفُسُ وَلَقَدْ جَاءَهُمْ مِنْ رَبِّهِمُ الْهُدَى |

Wa Kam Min Malakin Fī As-Samāwāti Lā Tughnī Shafā`atuhum Shay'āan 'Illā Min Ba`di 'An Ya'dhana Al-Lahu Liman Yashā'u Wa Yarđá | How many are the angels in the heavens; yet their intercession can avail none unless Allah gives them permission in favor of whom He wants and is pleased with.[53.26] | وَكَمْ مِنْ مَلَك ٍ فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ لاَ تُغْنِي شَفَاعَتُهُمْ شَيْئا ً إِلاَّ مِنْ بَعْدِ أَنْ يَأْذَنَ اللَّهُ لِمَنْ يَشَاءُ وَيَرْضَى |
'Inna Al-Ladhīna Lā Yu'uminūna Bil-'Ākhirati Layusammūna Al-Malā'ikata Tasmiyata Al-'Unthá | Those who do not believe in the hereafter give the angels the female names of goddesses.[53.27] | إِنَّ الَّذِينَ لاَ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِالآخِرَةِ لَيُسَمُّونَ الْمَلاَئِكَةَ تَسْمِيَةَ الأُنْثَى |
Wa Mā Lahum Bihi Min `Ilmin 'In Yattabi`ūna 'Illā Až-Žanna Wa 'Inna Až-Žanna Lā Yughnī Mina Al-Ĥaqqi Shay'āan | But they have no knowledge of it. They follow mere conjecture; and surely conjecture does not avail against the truth at all.[53.28] | وَمَا لَهُمْ بِه ِِ مِنْ عِلْم ٍ إِنْ يَتَّبِعُونَ إِلاَّ الظَّنَّ وَإِنَّ الظَّنَّ لاَ يُغْنِي مِنَ الْحَقِّ شَيْئا ً |
Fa'a`riđ `An Man Tawallá `An Dhikrinā Wa Lam Yurid 'Illā Al-Ĥayāata Ad-Dunyā | Therefore, neglect those who ignore Our warnings and seek only the life of this world.[53.29] | فَأَعْرِضْ عَنْ مَنْ تَوَلَّى عَنْ ذِكْرِنَا وَلَمْ يُرِدْ إِلاَّ الْحَيَاةَ الدُّنْيَا |
Dhālika Mablaghuhum Mina Al-`Ilmi 'Inna Rabbaka Huwa 'A`lamu Biman Đalla `An Sabīlihi Wa Huwa 'A`lamu Bimani Ahtadá | This is the sum of their knowledge. Surely your Rabb knows who have strayed from His path, and who are rightly guided.[53.30] | ذَلِكَ مَبْلَغُهُمْ مِنَ الْعِلْمِ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِمَنْ ضَلَّ عَنْ سَبِيلِه ِِ وَهُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِمَنِ اهْتَدَى |

He knew you well when He created you from earth and when you were just embryos in your mother’s wombs, therefore, do not claim piety for yourselves. He knows best who is really Godfearing pious.[53.32] | الَّذِينَ يَجْتَنِبُونَ كَبَائِرَ الإِثْمِ وَالْفَوَاحِشَ إِلاَّ اللَّمَمَ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ وَاسِعُ الْمَغْفِرَةِ هُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِكُمْ إِذْ أَنشَأَكُمْ مِنَ الأَرْضِ وَإِذْ أَنْتُمْ أَجِنَّة ٌ فِي بُطُونِ أُمَّهَاتِكُمْ فَلاَ تُزَكُّوا أَنفُسَكُمْ هُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِمَنِ اتَّقَى |
