Wa A ţ -Ţū r i By the mount Tür (where Moses was given the Torah),[52.1] وَالطُّو ر ِ
Wa Kitā bin Masţū r in and by the Book written[52.2] وَكِتَا بٍ مَسْطُو رٍ
Fī Raqqin Man sh ū r in on a fine unfolded scroll,[52.3] فِي رَقٍّ مَنْ شُو رٍ
Wa A l-Bayti A l-Ma`mū r i and by the inhabited House,[52.4] وَالْبَيْتِ ا لْمَعْمُو ر ِ
Wa A s-Saq fi A l-Marfū `i and the elevated canopy (sky),[52.5] وَالسَّقْ فِ ا لْمَرْفُو عِ
Wa A l-Baĥr i A l-Masjū r i and the surging ocean,[52.6] وَالْبَحْر ِ ا لْمَسْجُو ر ِ
'Inn a `Adh ā ba Rabbika Lawāqi`un the torment of your Rabb will surely come to pass![52.7] إِنّ َ عَذَا بَ رَبِّكَ لَوَاقِعٌ
Mā Lahu Min Dāfi`in There shall be none to avert it.[52.8] مَا لَهُُمِن ْ دَافِعٍ
Yawma Tamū ru A s-Samā 'u Mawrāan On that Day, heaven will shake violently[52.9] يَوْمَ تَمُو رُ ا ل سَّمَا ءُ مَوْراً
Wa Tasī r u A l-Jibā lu Sayrāan and the mountain will travel around.[52.10] وَتَسِي ر ُا لْجِبَا لُ سَيْراً
Fawaylun Yawma'idh in Lilmukadh dh ibī na On that Day, woe be to the deniers of truth,[52.11] فَوَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِلْمُكَذِّبِي نَ
Al-Ladh ī na Hum Fī Kh awđin Yal`abū na who are engaged in their useless sports.[52.12] ا لَّذِي نَ هُمْ فِي خَوْضٍ يَلْعَبُو نَ
Yawma Yuda``ū na 'Ilá Nā r i Jahann ama Da``āan On that Day they shall be driven to the fire of hell with violence,[52.13] يَوْمَ يُدَعُّو نَ إِلَى نَا ر ِ جَهَنَّ مَ دَعّاً
Hadh ihi A n -Nā ru A llatī Kun tum Bihā Tukadh dh ibū na and it will be said to them: “This is the fire which you denied.[52.14] هَذِهِ ا ل نّ َا رُ ا لَّتِي كُن تُم ْ بِهَا تُكَذِّبُو نَ
'Afasiĥrun Hādh ā 'Am 'An tum Lā Tub şirū na Is this a magic, or do you not see?[52.15] أَفَسِحْرٌ هَذَا أَمْ أَنْ تُمْ لاَ تُبْ صِرُو نَ
A şlawhā Fāşbirū 'Aw Lā Taşbirū Sawā 'un `Alaykum 'Inn amā Tuj zawna Mā Kun tum Ta`malū na Now burn therein; it will be the same for you, whether you bear it patiently or do not bear it patiently. You are being rewarded according to your deeds."[52.16] ا صْلَوْهَا فَا صْبِرُو ا أَوْ لاَ تَصْبِرُوا سَوَا ءٌ عَلَيْكُمْ إِنَّ مَا تُجْ زَوْنَ مَا كُن تُمْ تَعْمَلُو نَ
'Inn a A l-Muttaqī na Fī Jann ā tin Wa Na`ī min As for the righteous, they will be in Gardens and bliss,[52.17] إِنّ َ ا لْمُتَّقِي نَ فِي جَنّ َا تٍ وَنَعِي مٍ
Fākihī na Bimā 'Ā tāhum Rabbuhum Wa Waqāhum Rabbuhum `Adh ā ba A l-Jaĥī mi rejoicing in what their Rabb has given them and their Rabb shall shield them from the torment of hell.[52.18] فَاكِهِي نَ بِمَا آتَاهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ وَوَقَاهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ عَذَا بَ ا لْجَحِي مِ
Kulū Wa A sh rabū Hanī 'ā an Bimā Kun tum Ta`malū na It will be said to them: “Eat and drink to your hearts content, this is the reward for your good deeds."[52.19] كُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا هَنِيئاً بِمَا كُن تُمْ تَعْمَلُو نَ
Muttaki'ī na `Alá Surur in Maşfūfatin Wa Zawwaj nāhum Biĥū r in `Ī nin They shall recline on couches arranged in rows; and We shall wed them with beautiful Hüris (damsels).[52.20] مُتَّكِئِي نَ عَلَى سُرُرٍ مَصْفُوفَةٍ وَزَوَّجْ نَاهُم ْ بِحُو رٍ عِي نٍ
Wa A l-Ladh ī na 'Ā manū Wa A ttaba`at/hum Dh urr īyatuhum Bi'ī mā nin 'Alĥaq nā Bihim Dh urr īyatahum Wa Mā 'Alatnāhum Min `Amalihim Min Sh ay'in Kullu A m r i'in Bimā Kasaba Rahī nun We shall unite the true believers with those of their descendants who follow them in their faith, and shall not deny them the reward of their good deeds - everyone is responsible for his deeds[52.21] وَا لَّذِي نَ آمَنُوا وَاتَّبَعَتْهُمْ ذُرِّيَّتُهُم ْ بِإِيمَا نٍ أَلْحَقْ نَا بِهِمْ ذُرِّيَّتَهُمْ وَمَا أَلَتْنَاهُم ْ مِنْ عَمَلِهِم ْ مِن ْ شَيْءٍ كُلُّ ا مْر ِئٍ بِمَا كَسَبَ رَهِي نٌ
Wa 'Am dad nāhum Bifākihatin Wa Laĥmin Mimm ā Yash tahū na - and We shall provide them fruits, and such meats as they desire.[52.22] وَأَمْدَد ْنَاهُم ْ بِفَاكِهَةٍ وَلَحْمٍ مِمَّ ا يَشْتَهُو نَ
Yatanāza`ū na Fīhā Ka'sāan Lā Lagh wun Fīhā Wa Lā Ta'th ī mun They will pass from hand to hand a cup of wine which shall cause no idle talk, nor sinful urge;[52.23] يَتَنَازَعُو نَ فِيهَا كَأْساً لاَ لَغْوٌ فِيهَا وَلاَ تَأْثِي مٌ
Wa Yaţū fu `Alayhim Gh ilmā nun Lahum Ka'ann ahum Lu'ulu'uun Maknū nun and there shall wait for them young boys, exclusively appointed for their service, who will be as handsome as treasured pearls.[52.24] وَيَطُو فُ عَلَيْهِمْ غِلْمَا ن ٌ لَهُمْ كَأَنَّ هُمْ لُؤْلُؤٌ مَكْنُو نٌ
Wa 'Aq bala Ba`đuhum `Alá Ba`đin Yatasā 'alū na They will converse with one another about their worldly life[52.25] وَأَقْ بَلَ بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَى بَعْضٍ يَتَسَاءَلُو نَ
Qālū 'Inn ā Kunn ā Qab lu Fī 'Ahlinā Mush fiqī na and say: “When we were living among our kinfolk, we were troubled by many fears.[52.26] قَالُو ا إِنَّ ا كُنَّ ا قَبْ لُ فِي أَهْلِنَا مُشْفِقِي نَ
Famann a A l-Lahu `Alaynā Wa Waqānā `Adh ā ba A s-Samū mi But Allah has been gracious to us; He has delivered us from the fiery scourge.[52.27] فَمَنّ َ ا ل لَّهُ عَلَيْنَا وَوَقَانَا عَذَا بَ ا ل سَّمُو مِ
'Inn ā Kunn ā Min Qab lu Nad `ū hu 'Inn ahu Huwa A l-Barru A r-Raĥī mu Indeed we used to pray only to Him. Surely He is the Beneficent, the Merciful."[52.28] إِنَّ ا كُنَّ ا مِن ْ قَبْ لُ نَد ْعُو هُ~ ُ إِنَّ هُُهُوَ ا لْبَرُّ ا ل رَّحِي مُ
Fadh akkir Famā 'An ta Bini`mati Rabbika Bikāhinin Wa Lā Maj nū nin Therefore, O Prophet, keep up your mission of admonition. By the grace of your Rabb you are neither a soothsayer nor a madman.[52.29] فَذَكِّرْ فَمَا أَنْ تَ بِنِعْمَةِ رَبِّكَ بِكَاهِنٍ وَلاَ مَجْ نُو نٍ
'Am Yaqūlū na Sh ā`ir un Natarabbaşu Bihi Rayba A l-Manū ni Do they say: “He is but a poet! We are waiting for some misfortune to befall him."[52.30] أَمْ يَقُولُو نَ شَاعِرٌ نَتَرَبَّصُ بِهِِ رَيْبَ ا لْمَنُو نِ
Qul Tarabbaşū Fa'inn ī Ma`akum Mina A l-Mutarabbişī na Tell them: “Wait if you will; I too shall wait with you."[52.31] قُلْ تَرَبَّصُوا فَإِنِّ ي مَعَكُم ْ مِنَ ا لْمُتَرَبِّصِي نَ
'Am Ta'muruhum 'Aĥlāmuhum Bihadh ā 'Am Hum Qawmun Ţāgh ū na Do their faculties of reasoning prompt them to say this? Or is it merely that they are wicked people?[52.32] أَمْ تَأْمُرُهُمْ أَحْلاَمُهُم ْ بِهَذَا أَمْ هُمْ قَوْمٌ طَاغُو نَ
'Am Yaqūlū na Taqawwalahu Bal Lā Yu'uminū na Do they say: “This man has invented this Qur’an himself?” Nay! They do not want to believe.[52.33] أَمْ يَقُولُو نَ تَقَوَّلَهُُبَل لاَ يُؤْمِنُو نَ
Falya'tū Biĥadīth in Mith lihi 'In Kānū Şādiqī na Let them produce a scripture like this, if what they say is true![52.34] فَلْيَأْتُوا بِحَدِي ثٍ مِثْلِهِ إِن ْ كَا نُوا صَادِقِي نَ
'Am Kh uliqū Min Gh ayr i Sh ay'in 'Am Humu A l-Kh āliqū na Were they created without a Creator? Or were they their own creators?[52.35] أَمْ خُلِقُوا مِنْ غَيْر ِ شَيْءٍ أَمْ هُمُ ا لْخَالِقُو نَ
'Am Kh alaqū A s-Samāwā ti Wa A l-'Arđa Bal Lā Yūqinū na Did they create the heavens and the earth? Nay! They will never be convinced.[52.36] أَمْ خَلَقُوا ا ل سَّمَاوَا تِ وَالأَرْضَ بَل لاَ يُوقِنُو نَ
'Am `In dahum Kh azā 'inu Rabbika 'Am Humu A l-Musayţirū na Do they possess the treasures of your Rabb? Or is it they who control them?[52.37] أَمْ عِنْ دَهُمْ خَزَائِنُ رَبِّكَ أَمْ هُمُ ا لْمُسَيْطِرُو نَ
'Am Lahum Sullamun Yastami`ū na Fī hi Falya'ti Mustami`uhum Bisulţā nin Mubī nin Do they have a stairway to heaven by means of which they overhear Him? If so, let any of them who overheard Him, bring clear proof.[52.38] أَمْ لَهُمْ سُلَّمٌ يَسْتَمِعُو نَ فِي هِِ فَلْيَأْتِ مُسْتَمِعُهُم ْ بِسُلْطَا نٍ مُبِي نٍ
'Am Lahu A l-Banā tu Wa Lakumu A l-Banū na Is He to have daughters and you sons?[52.39] أَمْ لَهُ ا لْبَنَا تُ وَلَكُمُ ا لْبَنُو نَ
'Am Tas'aluhum 'Aj rāan Fahum Min Magh ramin Muth qalū na Do you ask them payment for your services, that they should fear to be overburdened by a debt?[52.40] أَمْ تَسْأَلُهُمْ أَجْ راً فَهُم ْ مِن ْ مَغْرَمٍ مُثْقَلُو نَ
'Am `In dahumu A l-Gh aybu Fahum Yaktubū na Do they have the knowledge of the unseen? Can they write it down?[52.41] أَمْ عِنْ دَهُمُ ا لْغَيْبُ فَهُمْ يَكْتُبُو نَ
'Am Yur īdū na Kaydāan Fa-Al-Ladh ī na Kafarū Humu A l-Makīdū na Do they intend to devise a plot against you? If so, the disbelievers themselves will be trapped in their plot.[52.42] أَمْ يُر ِيدُو نَ كَيْداً فَا لَّذِي نَ كَفَرُوا هُمُ ا لْمَكِيدُو نَ
'Am Lahum 'Ilahun Gh ayru A l-Lahi Sub ĥā na A l-Lahi `Amm ā Yush r ikū na Do they have a god other than Allah? Exalted is Allah, far above those deities they associate with Him.[52.43] أَمْ لَهُمْ إِلَه ٌ ٌ غَيْرُ ا ل لَّهِ سُبْ حَا نَ ا ل لَّهِ عَمَّ ا يُشْر ِكُو نَ
Wa 'In Yaraw Kisfāan Mina A s-Samā 'i Sāqiţāan Yaqūlū Saĥā bun Markū mun They are such people that, even if they will see a part of heaven falling down, they would say: “It is but a mass of clouds."[52.44] وَإِن ْ يَرَوْا كِسْفاً مِنَ ا ل سَّمَا ءِ سَاقِطاً يَقُولُوا سَحَا بٌ مَرْكُو مٌ
Fadh arhum Ĥattá Yulāqū Yawmahumu A l-Ladh ī Fī hi Yuş`aqū na So leave them alone until they encounter that Day of theirs wherein they shall be made to swoon with terror.[52.45] فَذَرْهُمْ حَتَّى يُلاَقُوا يَوْمَهُمُ ا لَّذِي فِي هِِ يُصْعَقُو نَ
Yawma Lā Yugh nī `Anhum Kayduhum Sh ay'ā an Wa Lā Hum Yun şarū na The Day when their designs will avail them nothing and none will help them.[52.46] يَوْمَ لاَ يُغْنِي عَنْهُمْ كَيْدُهُمْ شَيْئاً وَلاَ هُمْ يُن صَرُو نَ
Wa 'Inn a Lilladh ī na Žalamū `Adh ābāan Dū na Dh ālika Wa Lakinn a 'Akth arahum Lā Ya`lamū na Surely for such wrongdoers, there is another punishment besides that, even though most of them do not realize that.[52.47] وَإِنّ َ لِلَّذِي نَ ظَلَمُوا عَذَاباً دُو نَ ذَلِكَ وَلَكِنّ َ أَكْثَرَهُمْ لاَ يَعْلَمُو نَ
Wa A şbir Liĥukmi Rabbika Fa'inn aka Bi'a`yuninā Wa Sabbiĥ Biĥam di Rabbika Ĥī na Taqū mu Therefore, wait for the Judgment of your Rabb with patience, We are surely watching over you. Glorify your Rabb with His praises when you wake up,[52.48] وَاصْبِرْ لِحُكْمِ رَبِّكَ فَإِنَّ كَ بِأَعْيُنِنَا وَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ حِي نَ تَقُو مُ
Wa Mina A l-Layli Fasabbiĥhu Wa 'Id bā ra A n -Nujū mi and glorify Him in a part of the night, and also as the stars fade away.[52.49] وَمِنَ ا ل لَّيْلِ فَسَبِّحْهُ وَإِد ْبَا رَ ا ل نُّ جُو مِ
