Wa Aţ-Ţūri  | By the mount Tür (where Moses was given the Torah),[52.1] | وَالطُّورِ |
Wa Kitābin Masţūrin  | and by the Book written[52.2] | وَكِتَاب ٍ مَسْطُور ٍ |
Fī Raqqin Manshūrin  | on a fine unfolded scroll,[52.3] | فِي رَقّ ٍ مَنْشُور ٍ |
Wa Al-Bayti Al-Ma`mūri  | and by the inhabited House,[52.4] | وَالْبَيْتِ الْمَعْمُورِ |
Wa As-Saqfi Al-Marfū`i  | and the elevated canopy (sky),[52.5] | وَالسَّقْفِ الْمَرْفُوعِ |
Wa Al-Baĥri Al-Masjūri  | and the surging ocean,[52.6] | وَالْبَحْرِ الْمَسْجُورِ |
'Inna `Adhāba Rabbika Lawāqi`un  | the torment of your Rabb will surely come to pass![52.7] | إِنَّ عَذَابَ رَبِّكَ لَوَاقِع ٌ |
Mā Lahu Min Dāfi`in  | There shall be none to avert it.[52.8] | مَا لَه ُُ مِنْ دَافِع ٍ |
Yawma Tamūru As-Samā'u Mawrāan  | On that Day, heaven will shake violently[52.9] | يَوْمَ تَمُورُ السَّمَاءُ مَوْرا ً |
Wa Tasīru Al-Jibālu Sayrāan  | and the mountain will travel around.[52.10] | وَتَسِيرُ الْجِبَالُ سَيْرا ً |
Fawaylun Yawma'idhin Lilmukadhdhibīna  | On that Day, woe be to the deniers of truth,[52.11] | فَوَيْل ٌ يَوْمَئِذ ٍ لِلْمُكَذِّبِينَ |
Al-Ladhīna Hum Fī Khawđin Yal`abūna  | who are engaged in their useless sports.[52.12] | الَّذِينَ هُمْ فِي خَوْض ٍ يَلْعَبُونَ |
Yawma Yuda``ūna 'Ilá Nāri Jahannama Da``āan  | On that Day they shall be driven to the fire of hell with violence,[52.13] | يَوْمَ يُدَعُّونَ إِلَى نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ دَعّا ً |
Hadhihi An-Nāru Allatī Kuntum Bihā Tukadhdhibūna  | and it will be said to them: “This is the fire which you denied.[52.14] | هَذِهِ النَّارُ الَّتِي كُنتُمْ بِهَا تُكَذِّبُونَ |
'Afasiĥrun Hādhā 'Am 'Antum Lā Tubşirūna  | Is this a magic, or do you not see?[52.15] | أَفَسِحْرٌ هَذَا أَمْ أَنْتُمْ لاَ تُبْصِرُونَ |
Aşlawhā Fāşbirū 'Aw Lā Taşbirū Sawā'un `Alaykum 'Innamā Tujzawna Mā Kuntum Ta`malūna  | Now burn therein; it will be the same for you, whether you bear it patiently or do not bear it patiently. You are being rewarded according to your deeds."[52.16] | اصْلَوْهَا فَاصْبِرُوا أَوْ لاَ تَصْبِرُوا سَوَاءٌ عَلَيْكُمْ إِنَّمَا تُجْزَوْنَ مَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ |
'Inna Al-Muttaqīna Fī Jannātin Wa Na`īmin  | As for the righteous, they will be in Gardens and bliss,[52.17] | إِنَّ الْمُتَّقِينَ فِي جَنَّات ٍ وَنَعِيم ٍ |
Fākihīna Bimā 'Ātāhum Rabbuhum Wa Waqāhum Rabbuhum `Adhāba Al-Jaĥīmi  | rejoicing in what their Rabb has given them and their Rabb shall shield them from the torment of hell.[52.18] | فَاكِهِينَ بِمَا آتَاهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ وَوَقَاهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ عَذَابَ الْجَحِيمِ |
Kulū Wa Ashrabū Hanī'āan Bimā Kuntum Ta`malūna  | It will be said to them: “Eat and drink to your hearts content, this is the reward for your good deeds."[52.19] | كُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا هَنِيئا ً بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ |
Muttaki'īna `Alá Sururin Maşfūfatin Wa Zawwajnāhum Biĥūrin `Īnin  | They shall recline on couches arranged in rows; and We shall wed them with beautiful Hüris (damsels).[52.20] | مُتَّكِئِينَ عَلَى سُرُر ٍ مَصْفُوفَة ٍ وَزَوَّجْنَاهُمْ بِحُورٍ عِين ٍ |
Wa Al-Ladhīna 'Āmanū Wa Attaba`at/hum Dhurrīyatuhum Bi'īmānin 'Alĥaqnā Bihim Dhurrīyatahum Wa Mā 'Alatnāhum Min `Amalihim Min Shay'in Kullu Amri'in Bimā Kasaba Rahīnun  | We shall unite the true believers with those of their descendants who follow them in their faith, and shall not deny them the reward of their good deeds - everyone is responsible for his deeds[52.21] | وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَاتَّبَعَتْهُمْ ذُرِّيَّتُهُمْ بِإِيمَانٍ أَلْحَقْنَا بِهِمْ ذُرِّيَّتَهُمْ وَمَا أَلَتْنَاهُمْ مِنْ عَمَلِهِمْ مِنْ شَيْء ٍ كُلُّ امْرِئ ٍ بِمَا كَسَبَ رَهِين ٌ |
Wa 'Amdadnāhum Bifākihatin Wa Laĥmin Mimmā Yashtahūna  | - and We shall provide them fruits, and such meats as they desire.[52.22] | وَأَمْدَدْنَاهُمْ بِفَاكِهَة ٍ وَلَحْم ٍ مِمَّا يَشْتَهُونَ |
Yatanāza`ūna Fīhā Ka'sāan Lā Laghwun Fīhā Wa Lā Ta'thīmun  | They will pass from hand to hand a cup of wine which shall cause no idle talk, nor sinful urge;[52.23] | يَتَنَازَعُونَ فِيهَا كَأْسا ً لاَ لَغْو ٌ فِيهَا وَلاَ تَأْثِيم ٌ |
Wa Yaţūfu `Alayhim Ghilmānun Lahum Ka'annahum Lu'ulu'uun Maknūnun  | and there shall wait for them young boys, exclusively appointed for their service, who will be as handsome as treasured pearls.[52.24] | وَيَطُوفُ عَلَيْهِمْ غِلْمَان ٌ لَهُمْ كَأَنَّهُمْ لُؤْلُؤ ٌ مَكْنُون ٌ |
Wa 'Aqbala Ba`đuhum `Alá Ba`đin Yatasā'alūna  | They will converse with one another about their worldly life[52.25] | وَأَقْبَلَ بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَى بَعْض ٍ يَتَسَاءَلُونَ |
Qālū 'Innā Kunnā Qablu Fī 'Ahlinā Mushfiqīna  | and say: “When we were living among our kinfolk, we were troubled by many fears.[52.26] | قَالُوا إِنَّا كُنَّا قَبْلُ فِي أَهْلِنَا مُشْفِقِينَ |
Famanna Al-Lahu `Alaynā Wa Waqānā `Adhāba As-Samūmi  | But Allah has been gracious to us; He has delivered us from the fiery scourge.[52.27] | فَمَنَّ اللَّهُ عَلَيْنَا وَوَقَانَا عَذَابَ السَّمُومِ |
'Innā Kunnā Min Qablu Nad`ūhu 'Innahu Huwa Al-Barru Ar-Raĥīmu  | Indeed we used to pray only to Him. Surely He is the Beneficent, the Merciful."[52.28] | إِنَّا كُنَّا مِنْ قَبْلُ نَدْعُوهُ~ُ إِنَّه ُُ هُوَ الْبَرُّ الرَّحِيمُ |
Fadhakkir Famā 'Anta Bini`mati Rabbika Bikāhinin Wa Lā Majnūnin  | Therefore, O Prophet, keep up your mission of admonition. By the grace of your Rabb you are neither a soothsayer nor a madman.[52.29] | فَذَكِّرْ فَمَا أَنْتَ بِنِعْمَةِ رَبِّكَ بِكَاهِن ٍ وَلاَ مَجْنُون ٍ |
'Am Yaqūlūna Shā`irun Natarabbaşu Bihi Rayba Al-Manūni  | Do they say: “He is but a poet! We are waiting for some misfortune to befall him."[52.30] | أَمْ يَقُولُونَ شَاعِر ٌ نَتَرَبَّصُ بِه ِِ رَيْبَ الْمَنُونِ |
Qul Tarabbaşū Fa'innī Ma`akum Mina Al-Mutarabbişīna  | Tell them: “Wait if you will; I too shall wait with you."[52.31] | قُلْ تَرَبَّصُوا فَإِنِّي مَعَكُمْ مِنَ الْمُتَرَبِّصِينَ |
'Am Ta'muruhum 'Aĥlāmuhum Bihadhā 'Am Hum Qawmun Ţāghūna  | Do their faculties of reasoning prompt them to say this? Or is it merely that they are wicked people?[52.32] | أَمْ تَأْمُرُهُمْ أَحْلاَمُهُمْ بِهَذَا أَمْ هُمْ قَوْم ٌ طَاغُونَ |
'Am Yaqūlūna Taqawwalahu Bal Lā Yu'uminūna  | Do they say: “This man has invented this Qur’an himself?” Nay! They do not want to believe.[52.33] | أَمْ يَقُولُونَ تَقَوَّلَه ُُ بَل لاَ يُؤْمِنُونَ |
Falya'tū Biĥadīthin Mithlihi 'In Kānū Şādiqīna  | Let them produce a scripture like this, if what they say is true![52.34] | فَلْيَأْتُوا بِحَدِيث ٍ مِثْلِهِ~ِ إِنْ كَانُوا صَادِقِينَ |
'Am Khuliqū Min Ghayri Shay'in 'Am Humu Al-Khāliqūna  | Were they created without a Creator? Or were they their own creators?[52.35] | أَمْ خُلِقُوا مِنْ غَيْرِ شَيْءٍ أَمْ هُمُ الْخَالِقُونَ |
'Am Khalaqū As-Samāwāti Wa Al-'Arđa Bal Lā Yūqinūna  | Did they create the heavens and the earth? Nay! They will never be convinced.[52.36] | أَمْ خَلَقُوا السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالأَرْضَ بَل لاَ يُوقِنُونَ |
'Am `Indahum Khazā'inu Rabbika 'Am Humu Al-Musayţirūna  | Do they possess the treasures of your Rabb? Or is it they who control them?[52.37] | أَمْ عِنْدَهُمْ خَزَائِنُ رَبِّكَ أَمْ هُمُ الْمُسَيْطِرُونَ |
'Am Lahum Sullamun Yastami`ūna Fīhi Falya'ti Mustami`uhum Bisulţānin Mubīnin  | Do they have a stairway to heaven by means of which they overhear Him? If so, let any of them who overheard Him, bring clear proof.[52.38] | أَمْ لَهُمْ سُلَّم ٌ يَسْتَمِعُونَ فِيه ِِ فَلْيَأْتِ مُسْتَمِعُهُمْ بِسُلْطَان ٍ مُبِين ٍ |
'Am Lahu Al-Banātu Wa Lakumu Al-Banūna  | Is He to have daughters and you sons?[52.39] | أَمْ لَهُ الْبَنَاتُ وَلَكُمُ الْبَنُونَ |
'Am Tas'aluhum 'Ajrāan Fahum Min Maghramin Muthqalūna  | Do you ask them payment for your services, that they should fear to be overburdened by a debt?[52.40] | أَمْ تَسْأَلُهُمْ أَجْرا ً فَهُمْ مِنْ مَغْرَم ٍ مُثْقَلُونَ |
'Am `Indahumu Al-Ghaybu Fahum Yaktubūna  | Do they have the knowledge of the unseen? Can they write it down?[52.41] | أَمْ عِنْدَهُمُ الْغَيْبُ فَهُمْ يَكْتُبُونَ |
'Am Yurīdūna Kaydāan Fa-Al-Ladhīna Kafarū Humu Al-Makīdūna  | Do they intend to devise a plot against you? If so, the disbelievers themselves will be trapped in their plot.[52.42] | أَمْ يُرِيدُونَ كَيْدا ً فَالَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا هُمُ الْمَكِيدُونَ |
'Am Lahum 'Ilahun Ghayru Al-Lahi Subĥāna Al-Lahi `Ammā Yushrikūna  | Do they have a god other than Allah? Exalted is Allah, far above those deities they associate with Him.[52.43] | أَمْ لَهُمْ إِلَه ٌٌ غَيْرُ اللَّهِ سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ |
Wa 'In Yaraw Kisfāan Mina As-Samā'i Sāqiţāan Yaqūlū Saĥābun Markūmun  | They are such people that, even if they will see a part of heaven falling down, they would say: “It is but a mass of clouds."[52.44] | وَإِنْ يَرَوْا كِسْفا ً مِنَ السَّمَاءِ سَاقِطا ً يَقُولُوا سَحَاب ٌ مَرْكُوم ٌ |
Fadharhum Ĥattá Yulāqū Yawmahumu Al-Ladhī Fīhi Yuş`aqūna  | So leave them alone until they encounter that Day of theirs wherein they shall be made to swoon with terror.[52.45] | فَذَرْهُمْ حَتَّى يُلاَقُوا يَوْمَهُمُ الَّذِي فِيه ِِ يُصْعَقُونَ |
Yawma Lā Yughnī `Anhum Kayduhum Shay'āan Wa Lā Hum Yunşarūna  | The Day when their designs will avail them nothing and none will help them.[52.46] | يَوْمَ لاَ يُغْنِي عَنْهُمْ كَيْدُهُمْ شَيْئا ً وَلاَ هُمْ يُنصَرُونَ |
Wa 'Inna Lilladhīna Žalamū `Adhābāan Dūna Dhālika Wa Lakinna 'Aktharahum Lā Ya`lamūna  | Surely for such wrongdoers, there is another punishment besides that, even though most of them do not realize that.[52.47] | وَإِنَّ لِلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا عَذَابا ً دُونَ ذَلِكَ وَلَكِنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ لاَ يَعْلَمُونَ |
Wa Aşbir Liĥukmi Rabbika Fa'innaka Bi'a`yuninā Wa Sabbiĥ Biĥamdi Rabbika Ĥīna Taqūmu  | Therefore, wait for the Judgment of your Rabb with patience, We are surely watching over you. Glorify your Rabb with His praises when you wake up,[52.48] | وَاصْبِرْ لِحُكْمِ رَبِّكَ فَإِنَّكَ بِأَعْيُنِنَا وَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ حِينَ تَقُومُ |
Wa Mina Al-Layli Fasabbiĥhu Wa 'Idbāra An-Nujūmi  | and glorify Him in a part of the night, and also as the stars fade away.[52.49] | وَمِنَ اللَّيْلِ فَسَبِّحْهُ وَإِدْبَارَ النُّجُومِ |
