Qāf Wa A l-Qur'ā ni A l-Majī d i Qمf. By the Glorious Qur’an (O Muhammad you are the Rasool of Allah).[50.1] قَاف وَالْقُرْآنِ ا لْمَجِي د ِ
Bal `Ajibū 'An Jā 'ahum Mun dh ir un Minhum Faqā la A l-Kāfirū na Hādh ā Sh ay'un `Ajī b un But they wonder that there has come to them a warner from among themselves. So the unbelievers say: “This indeed is very strange[50.2] بَلْ عَجِبُو ا أَن ْ جَاءَهُم ْ مُنْ ذِرٌ مِنْهُمْ فَقَا لَ ا لْكَافِرُو نَ هَذَا شَيْءٌ عَجِي ب ٌ
'A'idh ā Mitnā Wa Kunn ā Turābāan Dh ālika Raj `un Ba`ī d un that after we are dead and have become dust we shall be raised to life again, such a return is far from reason."[50.3] أَئِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنَّ ا تُرَاباً ذَلِكَ رَجْ عٌ بَعِي د ٌ
Qad `Alim nā Mā Tan quşu A l-'Arđu Minhum Wa `In danā Kitā bun Ĥafīžun We know all that the earth consumes of their bodies, and We have a Book which keeps records of everything.[50.4] قَد ْ عَلِمْنَا مَا تَنْ قُصُ ا لأَرْضُ مِنْهُمْ وَعِنْ دَنَا كِتَا بٌ حَفِي ظٌ
Bal Kadh dh abū Bil-Ĥaqqi Lamm ā Jā 'ahum Fahum Fī 'Am r in Mar ī j in Nay! But these people deny the truth when it comes to them, and they are confused.[50.5] بَلْ كَذَّبُوا بِا لْحَقِّ لَمَّ ا جَاءَهُمْ فَهُمْ فِي أَمْرٍ مَر ِي ج ٍ
'Afalam Yan žurū 'Ilá A s-Samā 'i Fawqahum Kayfa Banaynāhā Wa Zayyann āhā Wa Mā Lahā Min Furū j in Have they never looked at the sky above them, and marked how We have made it and adorned it, and there are no flaws in it?[50.6] أَفَلَمْ يَنْ ظُرُو ا إِلَى ا ل سَّمَا ءِ فَوْقَهُمْ كَيْفَ بَنَيْنَاهَا وَزَيَّنَّ اهَا وَمَا لَهَا مِن ْ فُرُو ج ٍ
Wa A l-'Arđa Madad nāhā Wa 'Alqaynā Fīhā Rawāsiya Wa 'An batnā Fīhā Min Kulli Zawjin Bahī j in And the earth, how We have spread it out and set upon it mountains and caused to grow in it every kind of beautiful vegetation.[50.7] وَالأَرْضَ مَدَد ْنَاهَا وَأَلْقَيْنَا فِيهَا رَوَاسِيَ وَأَنْ بَتْنَا فِيهَا مِن ْ كُلِّ زَوْجٍ بَهِي ج ٍ
Tab şiratan Wa Dh ikrá Likulli `Ab din Munī b in All these things are eye-openers and a reminder for every servant returning to Allah.[50.8] تَبْ صِرَةً وَذِكْرَى لِكُلِّ عَبْ دٍ مُنِي ب ٍ
Wa Nazzalnā Mina A s-Samā 'i Mā 'an Mubārakāan Fa'an batnā Bihi Jann ā tin Wa Ĥabba A l-Ĥaşī d i We send down blessed water from the sky with which We bring forth gardens and the harvest grain,[50.9] وَنَزَّلْنَا مِنَ ا ل سَّمَا ءِ مَا مُبَارَكاً فَأَنْ بَتْنَا بِهِِ جَنّ َا تٍ وَحَبَّ ا لْحَصِي د ِ
Wa A n -Nakh la Bāsiqā tin Lahā Ţal`un Nađī d un and tall palm trees laden with clusters of dates, piled one over another,[50.10] وَالنَّ خْلَ بَاسِقَا تٍ لَهَا طَلْعٌ نَضِي د ٌ
R izqāan Lil`ibā di Wa 'Aĥyaynā Bihi Baldatan Maytāan Kadh ālika A l-Kh urū j u a sustenance for the servants; thereby giving new life to dead land. That is how the resurrection will be of the dead from the earth.[50.11] ر ِزْقاً لِلْعِبَا دِ وَأَحْيَيْنَا بِهِِ بَلْدَةً مَيْتاً كَذَلِكَ ا لْخُرُو ج ُ
Kadh dh abat Qab lahum Qawmu Nūĥin Wa 'Aşĥā bu A r-Rassi Wa Th amū d u Before, the people of Nüh and the dwellers of Ar-Rass denied this truth and so did Thamüd,[50.12] كَذَّبَتْ قَبْ لَهُمْ قَوْمُ نُو حٍ وَأَصْحَا بُ ا ل رَّسِّ وَثَمُو د ُ
Wa `Ā dun Wa Fir `awnu Wa 'Ikh wā nu Lūţin ‘Ad, Fir‘on (Pharaoh) and the brethren of Lüt,[50.13] وَعَا دٌ وَفِرْعَوْنُ وَإِخْوَا نُ لُو ط ٍ
Wa 'Aşĥā bu A l-'Aykati Wa Qawmu Tubba`in Kullun Kadh dh aba A r-Rusula Faĥaqqa Wa`ī d i the dwellers of the Al-Aiykah and the people of Tubba; all of them disbelieved their Rasools and thus brought down upon them My threatened scourge.[50.14] وَأَصْحَا بُ ا لأَيْكَةِ وَقَوْمُ تُبَّعٍ كُلٌّ كَذَّبَ ا ل رُّسُلَ فَحَقَّ وَعِي د ِ
'Afa`ayīnā Bil-Kh alqi A l-'Awwali Bal Hum Fī Lab sin Min Kh alqin Jadī d in Were We fatigued with the first creation that they are in doubt about a new creation?[50.15] أَفَعَيِينَا بِا لْخَلْقِ ا لأَوَّلِ بَلْ هُمْ فِي لَبْ سٍ مِنْ خَلْقٍ جَدِي د ٍ
Wa Laqad Kh alaq nā A l-'In sā na Wa Na`lamu Mā Tuwaswisu Bihi Nafsuhu Wa Naĥnu 'Aq rabu 'Ilayhi Min Ĥab li A l-War ī d i We created man, We know the prompting of his soul, and We are closer to him than his jugular vein.[50.16] وَلَقَد ْ خَلَقْ نَا ا لإِن سَا نَ وَنَعْلَمُ مَا تُوَسْوِسُ بِهِِ نَفْسُهُُوَنَحْنُ أَقْ رَبُ إِلَيْهِ مِنْ حَبْ لِ ا لْوَر ِي د ِ
'Idh Yatalaqqá A l-Mutalaqqiyā ni `Ani A l-Yamī ni Wa `Ani A sh -Sh imā li Qa`ī d un Besides this direct knowledge ,We have assigned to every one two scribes (guardian angels), the one seated on his right and the other on his left,[50.17] إِذْ يَتَلَقَّى ا لْمُتَلَقِّيَا نِ عَنِ ا لْيَمِي نِ وَعَنِ ا ل شِّمَا لِ قَعِي د ٌ
Mā Yalfižu Min Qawlin 'Illā Ladayhi Raqī bun `Atī d un not a single word does he utter but there is a vigilant guardian ready to note it down.[50.18] مَا يَلْفِظُ مِن ْ قَوْلٍ إِلاَّ لَدَيْهِ رَقِي بٌ عَتِي د ٌ
Wa Jā 'at Sakratu A l-Mawti Bil-Ĥaqqi Dh ālika Mā Kun ta Minhu Taĥī d u When the agony of death will bring the truth before his eyes, they will say: “This is what you were trying to escape!”[50.19] وَجَاءَتْ سَكْرَةُ ا لْمَوْتِ بِا لْحَقِّ ذَلِكَ مَا كُنْ تَ مِنْهُ تَحِي د ُ
Wa Nufikh a Fī A ş-Şū r i Dh ālika Yawmu A l-Wa`ī d i And the Trumpet shall be blown; that will be the Day of which you were threatened![50.20] وَنُفِخَ فِي ا ل صُّو ر ِ ذَلِكَ يَوْمُ ا لْوَعِي د ِ
Wa Jā 'at Kullu Nafsin Ma`ahā Sā 'iqun Wa Sh ahī d un Each soul will come forth; with it there will be a an angel to drive and an angel to bear witness.[50.21] وَجَاءَتْ كُلُّ نَفْسٍ مَعَهَا سَائِقٌ وَشَهِي د ٌ
Laqad Kun ta Fī Gh aflatin Min Hādh ā Fakash afnā `An ka Gh iţā 'aka Fabaşaruka A l-Yawma Ĥadī d un It will be said: “You were heedless of this, but now We have removed your veil, so your eyesight is sharp today!”[50.22] لَقَد ْ كُنْ تَ فِي غَفْلَةٍ مِنْ هَذَا فَكَشَفْنَا عَنْ كَ غِطَاءَكَ فَبَصَرُكَ ا لْيَوْمَ حَدِي د ٌ
Wa Qā la Qar īnuhu Hādh ā Mā Ladayya `Atī d un His companion will say: “Here is my testimony ready with me."[50.23] وَقَا لَ قَر ِينُهُُهَذَا مَا لَدَيَّ عَتِي د ٌ
'Alqiyā Fī Jahann ama Kulla Kaffā r in `Anī d in The sentence will be: “Throw into hell every stubborn disbeliever,[50.24] أَلْقِيَا فِي جَهَنَّ مَ كُلَّ كَفَّا رٍ عَنِي د ٍ
Mann ā `in Lilkh ayr i Mu`tadin Mur ī b in every opponent of good, and every doubting transgressor[50.25] مَنّ َا عٍ لِلْخَيْر ِ مُعْتَدٍ مُر ِي ب ٍ
Al-Ladh ī Ja`ala Ma`a A l-Lahi 'Ilahāan 'Ā kh ara Fa'alqiyā hu Fī A l-`Adh ā bi A sh -Sh adī d i who set up other gods besides Allah. Throw him into severe punishment."[50.26] ا لَّذِي جَعَلَ مَعَ ا ل لَّهِ إِلَهاً آخَرَ فَأَلْقِيَا هُُفِي ا لْعَذَا بِ ا ل شَّدِي د ِ
Qā la Qar īnuhu Rabbanā Mā 'Aţ gh aytuhu Wa Lakin Kā na Fī Đalā lin Ba`ī d in His companion will say: “Our Rabb! I did not mislead him. He himself had gone far astray."[50.27] قَا لَ قَر ِينُهُُرَبَّنَا مَا أَطْ غَيْتُهُُوَلَكِن ْ كَا نَ فِي ضَلاَلٍ بَعِي د ٍ
Qā la Lā Takh taşimū Ladayya Wa Qad Qaddam tu 'Ilaykum Bil-Wa`ī d i Allah will say: “Do not dispute with each other in My presence. I gave you warning beforehand.[50.28] قَا لَ لاَ تَخْتَصِمُوا لَدَيَّ وَقَد ْ قَدَّمْتُ إِلَيْكُم ْ بِا لْوَعِي د ِ
Mā Yubaddalu A l-Qawlu Ladayya Wa Mā 'Anā Bižallā min Lil`abī d i My words cannot be changed, nor am I unjust to My servants."[50.29] مَا يُبَدَّلُ ا لْقَوْلُ لَدَيَّ وَمَا أَنَا بِظَلاَّمٍ لِلْعَبِي د ِ
Yawma Naqū lu Lijahann ama Hal A m tala'ti Wa Taqū lu Hal Min Mazī d in On that Day, We shall ask the hell: “Are you full?” And the hell will answer: “Are there any more?”[50.30] يَوْمَ نَقُو لُ لِجَهَنَّ مَ هَلْ ا مْتَلَأْتِ وَتَقُو لُ هَلْ مِن ْ مَزِي د ٍ
Wa 'Uzlifati A l-Jann atu Lilmuttaqī na Gh ayra Ba`ī d in Paradise shall be brought close to the righteous, which will no more be a distant thing,[50.31] وَأُزْلِفَتِ ا لْجَنَّ ةُ لِلْمُتَّقِي نَ غَيْرَ بَعِي د ٍ
Hādh ā Mā Tū`adū na Likulli 'Awwā bin Ĥafīžin and it will be said: “Here is what you were promised. It is for every penitent faithful person,[50.32] هَذَا مَا تُوعَدُو نَ لِكُلِّ أَوَّا بٍ حَفِي ظٍ
Man Kh ash iya A r-Raĥmana Bil-Gh aybi Wa Jā 'a Biqalbin Munī b in who feared the Compassionate (Allah) without seeing Him and will come before Him with a devoted heart."[50.33] مَنْ خَشِيَ ا ل رَّحْمَنَ بِا لْغَيْبِ وَجَا ءَ بِقَلْبٍ مُنِي ب ٍ
A d kh ulūhā Bisalā min Dh ālika Yawmu A l-Kh ulū d i Allah will say: "Enter it in peace; this is the Day of Eternal Life!”[50.34] ا د ْخُلُوهَا بِسَلاَمٍ ذَلِكَ يَوْمُ ا لْخُلُو د ِ
Lahum Mā Yash ā 'ū na Fīhā Wa Ladaynā Mazī d un There they shall have all that they wish, and We shall have yet more to give.[50.35] لَهُم ْ مَا يَشَاءُو نَ فِيهَا وَلَدَيْنَا مَزِي د ٌ
Wa Kam 'Ahlaknā Qab lahum Min Qarnin Hum 'Ash addu Minhum Baţ sh āan Fanaqqabū Fī A l-Bilā di Hal Min Maĥīşin How many generations, far stronger in power, have We destroyed before them! They searched the entire land: but could they find any refuge?[50.36] وَكَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا قَبْ لَهُم ْ مِن ْ قَرْنٍ هُمْ أَشَدُّ مِنْهُم ْ بَطْ شاً فَنَقَّبُوا فِي ا لْبِلاَدِ هَلْ مِن ْ مَحِي صٍ
'Inn a Fī Dh ālika Ladh ikrá Liman Kā na Lahu Qalbun 'Aw 'Alqá A s-Sam `a Wa Huwa Sh ahī d un Surely in this there is a lesson for every person who has a heart, and can hear and witness.[50.37] إِنّ َ فِي ذَلِكَ لَذِكْرَى لِمَن ْ كَا نَ لَهُُقَلْبٌ أَوْ أَلْقَى ا ل سَّمْعَ وَهُوَ شَهِي د ٌ
Wa Laqad Kh alaq nā A s-Samāwā ti Wa A l-'Arđa Wa Mā Baynahumā Fī Sittati 'Ayyā min Wa Mā Massanā Min Lugh ū b in We created the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them in six periods, and no fatigue touched Us.[50.38] وَلَقَد ْ خَلَقْ نَا ا ل سَّمَاوَا تِ وَالأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا فِي سِتَّةِ أَيَّا مٍ وَمَا مَسَّنَا مِن ْ لُغُو ب ٍ
Fāşbir `Alá Mā Yaqūlū na Wa Sabbiĥ Biĥam di Rabbika Qab la Ţulū `i A sh -Sh am si Wa Qab la A l-Gh urū b i Therefore, O Prophet, bear with them in patience whatever they say, and keep on glorifying your Rabb before sunrise and before sunset.[50.39] فَاصْبِرْ عَلَى مَا يَقُولُو نَ وَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ قَبْ لَ طُلُو عِ ا ل شَّمْسِ وَقَبْ لَ ا لْغُرُو ب ِ
Wa Mina A l-Layli Fasabbiĥhu Wa 'Ad bā ra A s-Sujū d i And glorify Him during a part of the night and after the prostration (prayers).[50.40] وَمِنَ ا ل لَّيْلِ فَسَبِّحْهُ وَأَد ْبَا رَ ا ل سُّجُو د ِ
Wa A stami` Yawma Yunā di A l-Munā di Min Makā nin Qar ī b in And listen! The Day when the Caller will call out from a place quite near,[50.41] وَاسْتَمِعْ يَوْمَ يُنَا دِ ا لْمُنَا دِ مِن ْ مَكَا نٍ قَر ِي ب ٍ
Yawma Yasma`ū na A ş-Şayĥata Bil-Ĥaqqi Dh ālika Yawmu A l-Kh urū j i the Day when the people will hear the mighty blast in reality; that will be the Day of coming forth (the dead will rise from their graves).[50.42] يَوْمَ يَسْمَعُو نَ ا ل صَّيْحَةَ بِا لْحَقِّ ذَلِكَ يَوْمُ ا لْخُرُو ج ِ
'Inn ā Naĥnu Nuĥyī Wa Numī tu Wa 'Ilaynā A l-Maşī r u Surely it is We Who give life and death; and to Us shall all return,[50.43] إِنَّ ا نَحْنُ نُحْيِي وَنُمِي تُ وَإِلَيْنَا ا لْمَصِي ر ُ
Yawma Tash aqqaqu A l-'Arđu `Anhum Sirā`āan Dh ālika Ĥash run `Alaynā Yasī r un on that Day when the earth shall split asunder and the people shall be rushing out of it; that gathering them together shall be quite easy for Us.[50.44] يَوْمَ تَشَقَّقُ ا لأَرْضُ عَنْهُمْ سِرَاعاً ذَلِكَ حَشْرٌ عَلَيْنَا يَسِي رٌ
Naĥnu 'A`lamu Bimā Yaqūlū na Wa Mā 'An ta `Alayhim Bijabbā r in Fadh akkir Bil-Qur'ā ni Man Yakh ā fu Wa`ī d i We know very well what these unbelievers say. You (O Muhammad) are not there to compel them to believe. So admonish with this Qur’an every such person who fears My warning.[50.45] نَحْنُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا يَقُولُو نَ وَمَا أَنْ تَ عَلَيْهِم ْ بِجَبَّا رٍ فَذَكِّرْ بِا لْقُرْآنِ مَن ْ يَخَا فُ وَعِي د ِ
