'Anná Lahumu Adh-Dhikrá Wa Qad Jā'ahum Rasūlun Mubīnun | But how can the acceptance of Our Message at that time be beneficial to them? A Rasool (Muhammad), who makes the things clear, has already come to them[44.13] | أَنَّى لَهُمُ الذِّكْرَى وَقَدْ جَاءَهُمْ رَسُول ٌ مُبِين ٌ |

'Innā Kāshifū Al-`Adhābi Qalīlāan 'Innakum `Ā'idūna | We shall remove the affliction (famine from which they were suffering) for a while, but you will revert to the same old ways.[44.15] | إِنَّا كَاشِفُوا الْعَذَابِ قَلِيلا ً إِنَّكُمْ عَائِدُونَ |

Fa'asri Bi`ibādī Laylāan 'Innakum Muttaba`ūna | The reply came: “Set forth with My servants (Israelites) at night, surely you shall be pursued.[44.23] | فَأَسْرِ بِعِبَادِي لَيْلا ً إِنَّكُمْ مُتَّبَعُونَ |

Wa Na`matin Kānū Fīhā Fākihīna | And means of luxury and comfort which they used to enjoy![44.27] | وَنَعْمَة ٍ كَانُوا فِيهَا فَاكِهِينَ |
Kadhālika Wa 'Awrathnāhā Qawmāan 'Ākharīna | Thus was their end! And We let other people inherit what was once theirs.[44.28] | كَذَلِكَ وَأَوْرَثْنَاهَا قَوْما ً آخَرِينَ |
Famā Bakat `Alayhimu As-Samā'u Wa Al-'Arđu Wa Mā Kānū Munžarīna | Neither Heaven nor earth sheds tears for them; nor were they given a respite.[44.29] | فَمَا بَكَتْ عَلَيْهِمُ السَّمَاءُ وَالأَرْضُ وَمَا كَانُوا مُنظَرِينَ |

Wa Laqadi Akhtarnāhum `Alá `Ilmin `Alá Al-`Ālamīna | and We chose them, in spite of knowing their weaknesses above the nations of the world.[44.32] | وَلَقَدِ اخْتَرْنَاهُمْ عَلَى عِلْمٍ عَلَى الْعَالَمِينَ |
Wa 'Ātaynāhum Mina Al-'Āyāti Mā Fīhi Balā'un Mubīnun | We showed them signs in which there was a clear trial.[44.33] | وَآتَيْنَاهُمْ مِنَ الآيَاتِ مَا فِيه ِِ بَلاَء ٌ مُبِين ٌ |
'Inna Hā'uulā' Layaqūlūna | As to these (people of Qureysh) who say:[44.34] | إِنَّ هَاؤُلاَء لَيَقُولُونَ |

Wa Mā Khalaqnā As-Samāwāti Wa Al-'Arđa Wa Mā Baynahumā Lā`ibīna | It was not for a sport that We created the heavens the earth and all that lies between them.[44.38] | وَمَا خَلَقْنَا السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا لاَعِبِينَ |
Mā Khalaqnāhumā 'Illā Bil-Ĥaqqi Wa Lakinna 'Aktharahum Lā Ya`lamūna | We have created them to reveal the truth, but most of them do not understand.[44.39] | مَا خَلَقْنَاهُمَا إِلاَّ بِالْحَقِّ وَلَكِنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ لاَ يَعْلَمُونَ |
